I couldn’t figure out why my hair was falling out. I stopped using this shampoo out of pure laziness for 2 weeks, when I started using it again I then noticed it’s this shampoo causing my hair loss. It literally comes out in chunks immediately after and keeps coming out in chunks for days. It's so effective in fact, it can be used as a toner after you've bleached your hair to neutralize that ugly orangey color that's inevitable regardless of your natural color. We've all seen people walking around with that orangey hair with white roots after bleaching their hair. It's not exactly the best look for anybody. This product absolutely works. In fact, if you use it daily it will make your hair too dark. Use it daily, then back off to twice a week. Some have complained that it stains your nails. You're absolutely right it does! If hair color is to work, it must dye keratin, which makes up your hair and nails. Throw a rubber glove into the shower and keep it there to use with this stuff. For best results, rub it into dry hair and leave it while you do everything else in the shower. Also, this leaves the aroma of hair dye in your hair, because….. it is hair dye. I suggest hitting your hair with conditioner afterward, or better yet, follow use with a color shampoo that has a pleasant aroma such as Gem Lites brown pearl. (Hair dye like the ControlGX comes out of the bottle white and colors the core of the hair shaft, colored shampoos that come out of the bottle black like Gem Lites color the outside of the hair shaft.) Someone posted to leave the shampoo in for thirty minutes to get good results. Don’t! It is a hair dye with chemicals. You risk damaging your hair and/or irritating your scalp. It is designed to work gradually. If you leave it in too long, you WILL damage your hair. The product is meant to be used as directed and is very effective. I keep my goatee a little long, about an inch on the chin. It was grey/white, with a little black mixed in. I had tried coloring it once in the past and freaked out at the results and shaved it off. So although I was skeptical, I was willing to try a gradual reduction product. It took a couple of washes before I started noticing any change, and yes, the white hair did take on a purplish hue. But I decided to see it through and stayed with it. I even doubled up on washes a few times that first week or so. By the third week, the purplish hue was gone, and I'm left with a natural looking dark color somewhere between really dark brown to black. I love the results and hope this product stays in production. Don't get freaked out by the transition phase. If my buddies had noticed they would have had a blast pointing it out. I actually pointed out to them what I had done, and the results were so good they were just like, wow yeah your beard was white! No one noticed as it was changing. Try it, be bold. So far the best Purple Shampoo I've found. I have not used it long but My hair shines and actually feels thicker and softer. It hasn't really taken out all my brassiness yet but maybe after a few more uses it will. I am transitioning from medium brown colored treated hair to my natural white/grey hair that I'm letting grow out. About a week ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I bought bleach and developed and started bleaching my hair. It did not go well. The next day, I went back to the store, looking for something to fix my at home bleach fail. I warmed up to my weird brassy orangeish yellow, so I decided I would stay blonde for a while, but I definitely want lighter hair. I bought the Violet crush shampoo and the conditioner, along with more bleach to fix some still very dark spots in my hair. After bleaching the dark spots out, turning them a weird light yellow, I washed my hair with this shampoo. I only left it in for a minute and it already made my hair look better and the color more even. Today, I decided to leave the shampoo in my hair for five minutes and I can see the difference. The lighter parts of my hair look better now. I'd definitely recommend using the Violet crush conditioner after the shampoo, though. My hair did feel very dry after I rinsed it, but the conditioner made my hair nice and soft. Both, the shampoo and the conditioner smell really nice, too.Darja

Here’s what she had to say: Shampoo lathered well and very few tangles after conditioning. It did turn down the brassiness without making my hair look too ash blonde. I think for the price point it holds its own. I don’t like it as well as some similar shampoos and conditioners sold in salons, but I do like the price point! What I dislike: I was underwhelmed by the smell not a whole lot to it. One day after use my hair does feel a little more weighed down and more oily then normal. I received this conditioner as a sample and was keen to try it after using Sisley skin care products. I have medium length, thick hair that is highlighted so I thought that this would be perfect for my hair. I really liked the smell. It reminded me of a citrusy men's aftershave. But, I was surprised at how thin the consistency is. You really have to be careful when it comes out of the tube to not let it run away. It had a decent effect on my hair but nothing outstanding. I reveived a sample of the Sisley HAIR RITUEL GENTLE PURIFYING SHAMPOO. Now Sisiley is overall a more high end brand. I know some off the skincare line and what I have used was beautiful. This shampoo is also very nice. But with a sample you cannot attest to its longterm effects. So even though I enjoyed my latest shampoo session, I will probably not be purchasing this just because off its hefty price tag. Therefor I cannot recommend.Ducht
I tried this product as a sample. I have very thick medium length curly hair. The 15ml sample was enough for me to try once (quite sparingly) and I will say it was nice. Truthfully, it's a simple hair conditioner. I loved the fragrance, It smelled gorgeous, which didn't surprise me as I wear one of their parfum regularly. However, my fragrances last a long time but I go through hair conditioner very quickly. The smell alone doesn't warrant purchase at that price and it didn't do anything miraculous for me to even slightly consider. I know this review is lengthy but only because I LOVE this shampoo. Let me tell you, when I received this product, I was nervous. Seeing as it was a color depositing shampoo, and the instructions say to avoid your scalp (because of staining), I was upset. I dance for 2 hours every day and by the end I am a greasy/sweaty MESS. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get my same "clean" feeling as I do with my old shampoo. But I have been using this daily and I can honestly say my hair is so clean after using it but not that dry overly "squeaky" clean like some shampoos. This is a genuine CLEAN that didn't strip my hair of any moisture. The scent is great, very fresh and not overly fragrant or unnatural smelling. On top of that, it WORKS. I am a natural medium-deep brunette and I've got red/copper undertones that are clearly visible in natural lighting, mainly towards to ends of my hair. Not anymore though! I've got beautiful, soft, and shiny deep chocolate hair now and I've been using it for a week now! My only real complaint is that it can be a little tedious to use. Since it can stain, they recommend wearing gloves and keeping it off the scalp as stated previously. I didn't think it would stain that bad, so I put it in my hair one day without gloves and the dye had gotten under my fingernails and it looked like I had dirt under them, as well as product having dripped down the back of my neck and leaving a bit of darkness there. I recently got this shampoo to use once a week after I had my hair colored. I couldn't stop using it because it makes my hair feel so amazing. You know that clean feeling that some shampoos and conditioners leave you with? That kind of clean! I know every product is different for every type of hair but I will be using this until it no longer works for my hair. I can't stop touching it and running my fingers through it. **It does stain around my nails but I have a nail brush in my shower and I just scrub my nails after and it helps or most of the time, completely gets rid of the dark stains! Using the entire Matrix Dark Envy line, this is definitely the icing on the cake. It's creamy and thick and you definitely don't need as much as I used the first time. Lol. A small quarter sized amount or a touch more for long hair, like mine. I would not recommend using this without at least using the shampoo. I prefer the mask as well. But this is more like a toner or final coat to the color renewal system. It won't add color alone.eskmom

I decided to take advantage of Coronavirus quarantine to "go natural". My hair is a dark brunette, so growing out the silver is a challenge. Taking the situation seriously, I read all the best practices to make the transition easier. The best recommendation was to use a purple toned shampoo and conditioner. Before I started using this shampoo, my hair was grey. This shampoo makes it straight-up silver. Not exaggerating. I have tried every purple shampoo on the market (high-end & drug store), & they all have one thing in common: they dry out your hair each time you use them. So you have to follow each wash with a heavy-duty conditioner. Not the case with this gem from Rene Furterer! I've used this as my only shampoo, for months at a time, and it never dries out my hair. I've been using the Pantene Pro V Brilliant Blondie Illuminating Sulfate Free Shampoo for 2 weeks and I'm impressed! First things first, this formula is FREE OF sulphates, parabens, dyes, silicones, and mineral oils which is a winner in my book. Pantene's Pro-V Color Adapt technology senses the unique needs of multi tonal hair, like every strand stands out lighter! Get lasting vibrant color is a plus! Another winner in my book!! I liked the scent of this shampoo, it was heavy enough so that after your hair was dry, it lingered for a day or two. If I braided it or had it up in a bun, the scent scent stayed for 3 days! A very CLEAN scent like linen on a breeze. I loved the feeling of my scalp afterwards as it felt very cleansed and clarified. Like it had been rehabbed! LOL Honestly, it felt as though a vacuum had sucked away all the old buildup from past washings. I noticed that my natural highlights were also lightened a lot. Like I had sat in the sun for 1 week straight or I went to the salon and had my highlights done! The one thing I didn't like was it was very hard to get a foamy lather going and I suppose that's because it's a very clean and green shampoo without all the chemicals added to it. I used the Brilliant Blondie Daily Rescue Conditioner in Combination with the Matching shampoo for about 3 weeks. This product claim is that it is free of Paraben, Mineral Oil and Dyes. I like that. It also has Silk Extract and Biotin which should should provide you with silky plump locks. Personally I don't think there is enough of either of these ingredients in the conditioner to notice. They are also the last few ingredients listed on the label. There is however a lot of forms of alcohol in the ingredient list! I have very long hair so when showering I wash my hair immediately, rinse and condition. This gives my conditioner 5 plus minutes to do it's job. It goes on nice and soft and has a very pleasant subtle scent. Once I rinsed it out my hair felt heavier than when using other conditioner. I also had a very hard time each and every time detangling my hair. Overall my hair did not feel good after using. For the entire three weeks of using these products I did not add any other product to my hair and did not style so I would get the full effect of the products used. I've been a past purchaser of Pantene, so I was excited to see this new line come out. I'm a natural blonde, who recently lifted my hair with bleach. This product specifically features 0% sulfates, parabens, silicones, dyes and mineral oils which is part of the reason why I was drawn to it. It also features added biotin & silk extract which I've been intrigued by lately in hair care products. The scent of this shampoo was really wonderful, and I really enjoyed it. Sulfate free shampoos tend to lather less, but I found this one still lathered quite well. I can't say that I think the biotin in it helped my hair in any way. On top of that, both the biotin and silk extract are both listed as the last two ingredients which I would presume means they're included in very small quantities. That being said, I did like the overall look of my hair after using this. I also really like the look and shape of the bottle/packaging of this. It fits really well in my shower and makes the usability of the product really great. Overall, I think I would buy this product again – and would likely recommend it to others. If I were to change anything, I would remove the biotin, add more silk extract and make it more hydrating.Natalie1962

I’ve had it done before I know what’s normal and not for this process but it Has taken me months and months to regain some of the structure and strength back but only from using products like this. I have huge blonde hair care regiment but recently was sent this samples from Pinchme.com and I fell in love with this product the moroccanoil blonde perfecting shampoo and conditioner color care. I could tell after one use the different in my strands as far as they felt fuller softer and a lot stronger too. I have already purchased my own and is in its way in the mail as we speak. But I can’t say enough about the shampoo seriously the strength added to my hair after using and the toning feature was amazing. I have different depths of blonde and I felt that this made those lighter money pieces that perfect icy I’ve been looking for + strengthening in other product and only found here. Others I have to use separate product .. with moraccanoil u get it all in one tube!! Smell is beautiful the product color is rich purple and it won’t leave ur hair heavy or with residue. But clean and healthy feeling. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. (Do this for more toning effect) Mines was needing toned again and is pretty porous so I left in longer… but not too long. Anyhow I’d recommend to anyone who has chemically treated and or damaged hair needing give it some TLC. Price is fair considering other brand and they dint work as well as this one trust me.. I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! I will definitely be buying both the shampoo and conditioner soon since I think both will help keep my hair healthy and a nice shade of blondechopper923
It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

I've been bleaching my hairs for years and have tried countless brands of purple shampoo. I've been told by my hairdresser that sulfates strip toner and to avoid shampoos with that ingredient. I noticed this shampoo had sulfates but I went ahead and tried it anyway because of all the good reviews. I've used it 3 times since my last bleach and tone, and my hair is A LOT more yellow than my appointment. I noticed after the first wash that my hair looked a little worse but I decided to try to keep using it and my toner literally vanished before my eyes. I definitely recommend a shampoo without sulfates (Joico is one example). This shampoo also dries out your hair causing it to build up grease not even 24 hours after showering. Made my hair nice when applied, thought everything was great. Beautiful lather….. then I wash it out. My hair felt so gummy it literally scared me. The product didn't really do anything for my hair. Will be returning. I have used the "Total Results So Silver Triple Power Hair Mask". It works great didn't dry my hair out at all. I try to stay away from Parabens, Silicones & Sulfates. I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. If your a blonde and need a good purple shampoo. I highly recommend Biolage Purple shampoos. It's the best purple shampoo I've ever used and I've used many. You won't be disappointed with any shampoo from Biolage. It's my new favorite brand and I won't be going back to any other brands.Amy
My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! My hair last year was long to my belt loops. We thought was this because of coloring? Stopped coloring it last year, it's been growing out for awhile. Then for my last "trim" it turned into a chop because I've had really long hair over a decade & never has my hair looked or felt like this. Now my hair is right above my shoulders. I was doing my research on products before my haircut knowing after I cut it, I'm never using OGX products again even though I had 2 brand new large bottles. I asked my hairdresser about this brand & this color last (even though I'm growing out my hair I still have my old color treated lighter blonde ends). she said this product/brand is AMAZING & YES for me to try it I told her Ulta had the jumbos on SALE she said I won't regret it. Sorry so long but I have never found such an amazing shampoo & conditioner!! I also got the styling spray to wear my hair naturally Wavy to let it air dry & have less heat on my damaged hair & I'm hooked, 1000% pleased and recommend!! If you are not sure, they have travel size & you can try before you commit. I'm so happy I went with it, went with the jumbos & will continue to buy forever. Cannot understand these great reviews! This Blue Malva shampoo and conditioner is simply awful. By far the worst I’ve used. The price point is ridiculous for the lack of result. Not only does it do NOTHING for my highlighted natural blonde hair, it actually actively makes the colour worse! After first use my highlights were dull and hair was really dry. Even when I piled the conditioner on I couldn’t get my brush though it. I should clarify that my hair has always been manageable and neither dry nor greasy, just luckily have shiny and soft hair so I was really shocked that a product had actually given me problems! I tried to keep using it because you can (ridiculously enough) only buy the huge bottles (what a scam), but I had to give it away to a friend because it was making my hair so lustreless. My friend hates it too so she’s using it as shower gel – lol -Waste of money or what? Smell is lovely like all Aveda products, that’s what it gets one star for. Omg. Who was in charge of getting rid of clove and chamomile shampoo and conditioner? Send them away and bring back our beloved shampoo. I've tried all your other shampoo and conditioner now and have decided to move on from Aveda. The new products smell horrible, and are terrible in general. They leave my hair feeling fried, or flat, or frizzy. I have very sensitive skin and after not wanting to pay $50 plus for a giant jug of color depositing shampoo, I looked everywhere where for something similar. In the end, I decided not having my hair fall out using something harsher was not ideal and I bought this. My hair changed drastically in a week. It's healthier than it's ever been. My curls hold overnight which is just weird and my hair feels full and somehow also light. I highlighted it a few weeks ago. I'm not sure it's the best at canceling brass, but it's worth it. I just ordered the be curly shampoo to use between the toning. Aveda is crazy good stuff for my frazzled thin curls.Misty

I have brown hair with blonde on the middle/ends. I already have two different blonde shampoos (nexxus and John Frieda) both of which are a purple shampoo. They didn't seem to do much to my hair since my blonde was more of a honey(Ish) blonde (Slightly orange tones) Vs a bright blonde.. that's why I decided to give this a try! I decided to put the shampoo on my hair while it was dry and left it on for About 5 minutes (I have fine semi damaged hair that takes to color super quick and didn't want to end up with teal hair) so if your hair is the same I wouldn't leave it in any longer than that… anyways, WOW! This product definitely lightened you my blonde considerably and left the brown in my hair looking super shiny. There's no sun out today as it's raining so I can't say much about if it took red/orange tones out of my hair but it is soft, shiny and my blonde has lightened up! I personally think it's worth a try and will be reusing this probably about once a week for a refresh! 🙂Michelle
I'm shocked at how amazing this shampoo and conditioner is!!! I'm not joking I'm someone who uses salon shampoo not always but mostly I do. I've use probably 4 products from NYM. That being the pink bottle shampoo and conditioner the black shampoo bottle it has moon something in it…? lol And I think I've used the leave in conditioner. Anyways this shampoo is amazing!!! I have oily roots this had my hair so soft so shiny for 5 days my hair usually gets oily in 2 or 3 day's. I honestly didn't notice this toning my hair. But what I did notice is it made my hair look freshly colored if that makes sense. Maybe I have to use this more to see the effect. I bought this thinking I'd try this before I buy the redken blue shampoo to see if I like it. I've use this 3 times now along with the conditioner it didn't strip my color. It had a medium sud I didn't see any hair color come out washing my hair. Barely any shedding which is amazing! Even if u don't color your hair try this shampoo and conditioner. It's a great shampoo regardless you won't regret it. Oh the smell is amazing as well has a light vanilla sorta salon scent to it. I don't notice a scent in my hair after it drys. So if your someone who doesn't like scents in your hair you'll love this. I can't say enough great things about this shampoo and conditioner. It is just as good as my high-end stuff not even joking. after my first shipment got lost, I was excited because my hair is still strawberry orange on top and i was going light blonde. my hair is thick, med. length. and i may have noticed a small change in color, though it's not enough to be worth the cost. i might get a total of 5 washes and will still need more washes to get it to go lighter. im going to re dye and cross my fingers. the purple didn't help either.Pamela

I use shampoo bar soaps for my hair. This product works well as a light conditioner after shampooing. It has a nice light scent and helps curb the winter static. This spray does not weigh down my baby fine hair adding softness, shine and protection from blow drying. The main ingredients are water based silicone with herbal touches. Hopefully this is a helpful review because I address some of the complaints I saw before writing this. My hair stylist suggested I use this shampoo, however because I have an extremely sensitive scalp( I even have to use steroids on my scalp a couple times a week) so I still only use Free&Clean shampoo & conditioner directly on my scalp which I wash twice because of oil build up. But then I use the Redken Blue Toning shampoo on the rest of my hair just not the scalp.. my hair is down to my butt and very thick and wavy so I use a lot of product. I've read reviews saying it doesn't lather, but honestly it lathers really well and I'm guessing they must have so much oil in their hair they haven't done a quick wash and rinse first or use too much daily product so they probably need to wash twice anyways. I have the shampoo sit on my hair for 5 minutes. During that time I rinse off the shower curtain and walls to wash away the blue (c'mon people… it will only stain if you let it sit) then I rinse out and have the conditioner sit for 5 minutes and it is NIGHT & DAY from when I used to get highlights. I started using this right after highlights and after almost 2 months my color still looks perfect without the brassy or red. I wished I had this the past 10 years because my hair has faded copper/brassy my whole life. I'm obsessed and will continue using on all my hair and just avoiding the scalp! i was recommended this by chris wenzel on youtube, hes a pro hair stylist. i have more straight than wavy, frizzy, oily scalp and very dry ends with some breakage (from permanent hair coloring) i used this 4 times. i shower every 4 days. in those weeks i had so much hair loss. clumps in the shower, clumps out of the shower. i was noticing tons of fallen hairs everywhere! i didnt change anything in my routine beside this shampoo. i was freaking out! my scalp was burning and itchy, but my hair looked amazing! i was so sad i couldnt use it anymore. i didnt have anymore salon brand shampoos in my house. only green apple suave (guest bathroom backup) and my hair fall instantly stopped! after a week of washing with suave my hair was back to a few hairs falling a day.(normal) im sorry redken.. i will stick to only your conditioners. frizz dismiss is amazing.dre
I bought previous version of this shampoo and I loved it very much. It was perfect for me. New formula is not the same, unfortunately. I have thin natural hair which gets dirty every day, so I wash it every morning. With previous formula of this shampoo I could wash my hair once per two days and it really gave me a little volume. But now I don't get any kind of volume, my hair is flat. I use this shampoo with Redken Volume conditioner and my hair don't feel any volume at all. Also my hair gets greasy by the end of a day. This product is very concentrated, lathers great, smells amazing. But doesn't work for my hair type. If you have normal or dry hair, probably, you will like the results.Helga
