I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! Now for a moment (or more accurately, more like several moments, as my review style tends to be on the longer and detailed side, generally) of truth for some of you who may have read my reviews on the Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner and Pureology Strength Cure Miracle Filler I received from Influenster recently may have been waiting for – here are my current thoughts and opinions on the Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo, which I also recently received in my Influenster VoxBox for testing purposes in exchange for my honest and complete review. Overall, there were and are quite a number of things about this shampoo with regards to the way it works with my current (used to be different when I was younger) hair type and condition. My current hair type of relatively thin/fine, ever so *slightly* wavy when it has not been straightened, and sort of a 'combination hair' type – tending to be drier and more prone to breakage near the tips, yet more oily to regular (depending on the day, time of day, weather, my activity level that day, etc) near the top/roots/my scalp area. Some of the things I loved most so far about this after having used this shampoo for probably about seven times or so since receiving it (sometimes my hair gets so oily towards the top – in the summer particularly, that I have to wash it twice a day!) are the light and pleasant, slightly fruity smell (it makes me think strawberries, somewhat), the smoothness of the product, how nicely it lathers, and how it, in combination with the Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner and Miracle Filler products that I also received from my box already seemed to have been making it significant difference to my hair's softness, strength, shine, and overall feeling of increased health. The main thing that I found problems *for me personally* about this shampoo, was that, while it generally has seemed to work very well for the mid-shafts to ends/tips of my hair in terms of nourishing and cleansing properties, unfortunately I found that on a number of occasions, it has not been quite cleansing or clarifying enough near my roots/scalp area for me to feel that that area of my hay was thoroughly clean – therefore, I personally had to either mix or follow up this shampoo with a different shampoo that I have found more clarifying for me personally (recently I have been using an Aussie brand shampoo – I think a volume one, but I can double check on that later). This is my genuine experience with the product so far, and I do hope it has helped you out too! My ethnicity is Asian – Chinese, specifically (my mother is from Hong Kong), and of European Jewish descent on my father's side of the family. Hopefully that may also help give you some baseline information about where my mixed-ancestry hair type originates from. This is a product that I would recommend most for people with regular to drier hair *or* for those of you who are like me with the 'combination hair' I described above, something that would be good to use on the mid-shafts to ends/tips of your hair. I like how my hair feels and the conditioner feels light and creamy. The smell is good. I think I’m seeing fewer flyaways and less frizz. Maybe it is actually strengthening my hair, but I’ve also been using a mini bottle of that 30 benefits leave-in spray-which I’m out of as of today. do notice my hair looking a bit greasy after just a day, but it is blonde-not color treated, and shows grease lines easily, especially since I’m back at work as a teacher spending much less time outside and there’s less sun now that it’s fall-and I’m down to a sulfate shampoo since ai didn’t receive the shampoo but I haven’t received the shampoo yet even though I ordered the duo. I want to try them all before investing in any liter bottles. Years back, my sister had me try her Nano Works in a light green bottle, and it was amazing, but that type is no longer made, and the Nano Gold is even more expensive than the others and not the same. First, a bit about my hair – so, you have a sense of comparison. My hair is straight and fine, but I have a lot of it, and it has been colored for years and years … everything from fashion colors to varying highlights to my current platinum hair. Basically, my hair was damaged, weak, and tired, my ends were incredibly dry, and, at one point, I even had massive breakage (as in clumps of hair breaking off when I brushed my hair – see photo). I have tried, what feels like, every single hair product known to man from supplements to specialized shampoo and conditioner to leave in conditioners to various oils – you get the idea (you can see some of those products in the background of the photo). So, I was a bit skeptical to try yet another “repair” shampoo, but I am thrilled that I did. Within the product description it states that the shampoo “instantly repairs and shows results after just one use” … well, that statement is true, at least for me. Normally when I wash my hair, after I rinse the shampoo, my ends still have texture to them (they still feel dry); however, after using the combination of BOTH the shampoo and conditioner, my ends felt as smooth as the rest of my hair. Honestly, I have not felt that smooth texture on my ends in years and years. I love that the formula contains less than 1% of synthetic fragrances (though it smells great), is 100% vegan and doesn’t contain parabens or Sulfates SLS or SLES. Yes, the price might seem high, however, you must consider that the shampoo is so highly formulated that one bottle allows for over 75+ shampoos … that’s right, 75+! This shampoo & conditioner did more for my hair in one single wash than any other product has done, period. My hair is much healthier and stronger singly handily because of this shampoo and conditioner. I was so keen to try this product as I wanted a sulphate free shampoo to help define my naturally wavy/curly hair. After the first wash I instantly saw results with less frizz and more curls! But after the second wash my hair didn’t feel clean as the shampoo really struggles to lather up to cover the whole scalp. I was having to shampoo twice and used a lot of product. I then felt I had to wash my hair after a couple of days as it felt really dirty and greasy with a build up of product, I have thick hair and would usually wash my hair twice a week so had to go back to my old shampoo. I also used with the curl conditioner and styling crème which were great and work really well and I have kept using them. If they make some changes to this product then I’ll definitely come back to it.Emily
The pale yellow shampoo is soft and has a floral fragrance. It will leave your hair feeling soft and clean. After several uses, your hair will be noticeably blonder. Unlike other color treatments, it will not leave your hair a brassy color. If that is the kind of blonde color you are looking for, additional products may need to be used. The John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo works best when combined with the conditioner but can also be used alone if you can’t part ways with your conditioner. Although it is meant for everyday use, the product can leave your hair dry or add damage to your hair. No matter what other products I may cycle through, I use this every time I wash my hair and always have backups on hand! I'm a natural golden blonde, but my new growth can get dull in the winter when not exposed to sunlight as often, or with general buildup that we all get on our hair. This effectively cleanses my hair without making it feel stripped, while also providing juuuust the tiniest bit of extra lightening every wash! Pro tip: only the shampoo in this line contains an actual chemical lightening agent, not the conditioner, so this is all you need to see the effect. But it's such a low concentration, and rinsed out so much more quickly than salon lightening, that it will only ever be a subtle change. (And I'm not even sure it would do anything to hair darker than a level 7 or so…) You literally can't mess it up. I'm a natural golden blonde, but my new growth can get dull in the winter when not exposed to sunlight as often, or with general buildup that we all get on our hair. Pro tip: only the shampoo in this line contains an actual chemical lightening agent, not the conditioner, so this is all you need to see the effect. But it's such a low concentration, and rinsed out so much more quickly than salon lightening, that it will only ever be a subtle change. I have been using this shampoo for a really long time, about 2 years. I am a natural blonde, I have never dyed my hair. Over the years, my blonde hair was getting darker and darker. As I didn't want to dye my hair, I was looking for different cosmetics to lighten and emphasize my blonde color. For me, this shampoo is a bull's eye. It is true that the price scares me off a bit, but I am always looking for a promotion for it. The shampoo dries the hair. Therefore, in my opinion, it is not suitable for everyday use, even with a dedicated conditioner. Initially, I only used it twice a week because I was afraid to use it more often. After about a month of use, I noticed lightening of the hair, but it was natural, which I really liked. After this time, I also reduced the frequency of using the shampoo to one per week. About a week ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I bought bleach and developed and started bleaching my hair. It did not go well. The next day, I went back to the store, looking for something to fix my at home bleach fail. I warmed up to my weird brassy orangeish yellow, so I decided I would stay blonde for a while, but I definitely want lighter hair. I bought the Violet crush shampoo and the conditioner, along with more bleach to fix some still very dark spots in my hair. After bleaching the dark spots out, turning them a weird light yellow, I washed my hair with this shampoo. I couldn’t figure out why my hair was falling out. I stopped using this shampoo out of pure laziness for 2 weeks, when I started using it again I then noticed it’s this shampoo causing my hair loss. I was looking to use something better than my typical drugstore shampoo and had seen quite a few good reviews for this brand. After using it I noticed my hair felt gross, very heavy and greasy, but I assumed maybe I hadn't rinsed all the product out. Since then I have made sure to triple rinse my hair every wash to ensure that isn't the case but I still have the same results. I've been trying to find the best hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Tried this one from the great things my coworkers at ulta said about it. However i felt like it was causing extreme hair loss. I couldn't get my normal hair care products during lockdown. So I figured I would try Hask, as it is also Animal-Friendly and doesn't contain harmful chemicals. I am extremely sensitive to most products, causing bumps and sores on my scalp. I have very fine long blonde hair that tangles and breaks easily as well as getting oily within 2 days on most products. I think it helps as far as keeping highlights blonde and not brassy. I will say just like most purple/blueish shampoos it is on the drying end of the spectrum so I use a conditioner then I shampoo and then I condition again on the 1-2 times a week I use a purple shampoo and conditioner. I got this product due to a lot of good reviews. I use professional purple shampoo but ran out so figured id give this a go. MISTAKE. After 3 uses my hair is falling out in huge clumps, like cleaning your hairbrush once a month clumps. It's horrible! The smell is so chemical smelling and when trying to wash it out my hair felt like straw and I couldn't even put my fingers through it!!! I had to add conditioner on top of the shampoo just to be able to break through and wash the shampoo out. Worst mistake and I'm taking it back to ulta. Why is this product even a best seller? so for the past around 8 years I've been using Shimmer Lights, since everyone would recommend that to me. Recently I tried Matrix purple shampoo, which worked the same way as shimmer lights. Where if you leave it on too long, you get purple hair… and I thought that was the case with all purple shampoo. Until I watched a Brad Mondo video and he reviewed this shampoo and it looked great in the video. But was it in real life…? My hair is a little yellow too after the bleach, which the shimmer lights, would just turn it to purple, which I thought was better then yellow. Finally tried this shampoo, and it takes a couple uses, esp since I had tinted purple hair as well. But it became a nice white platinum color as stated. Which was super shocking to me, that it never left any tint of purple, no matter how long it was on for. Brad mondo, referred to the scent as candy, i would say it's more of a floral scent. I read the reviews on Amazon first before purchasing and fell in love. This shampoo is a deep deep purple, and it will stain your hands if you don't rinse them off. First hand experience here *pun intended* The smell of it wasn't gross like some other brands (looking at you Clairol Shimmer Lights). It actually will turn your hair ashy! I left this stuff on for ten minutes and I had that beautiful ash (almost purple tone) to it, which I don't mind. Less time left on, you'll still see results. At the time, I really liked Fanola. It really made my platinum, PLATINUM! If was extremely well priced, especially for the size of bottle. I would not however, recommend it to anyone, unless they knew exactly how to care for their hair perfectly! I used this several times a week, desperate to keep my gorgeous platinum colour. What it was doing at the same time was dramatically drying my hair out! In the end, between using the right shampoo the wrong way and the abuse from continuous bleaching, my hair became so so damaged. So dry. So fragile. So brittle. So my advice, if you’re planning on this, speak with your hair tech, ask them how to properly care for your locks and ask for their recommendation. This is great for getting rid of the yellow tones in your hair. As you can see in the second picture after getting my hair re-dyed blonde it was more yellow than the platinum I wanted to go for but after using the shampoo TWICE, my hair was the silvery colour as you can see in the last picture! I use this every time I wash my hair after using my normal shampoo, usually leaving it in for 3-5 minutes and it works great. The only slightly annoying thing is that it dries out the hair and turns your hands purple if you don’t wash it off straight away. Also, sometimes you can see bits of purple showing through in certain light however I am sure if you use it less intensely that will not be an issue! Plus I love a bit of purple so I have no problem with it☺️. But I do find myself having to use extra serums and leave in conditioners in order to help it detangle and to keep my hair less dry. I decided to try this during a Ulta jumbo sale. I have tried and loved the Its a 10 leave in treatments so i was excited to try this. Its a good shampoo. Leaves my hair soft and clean without weighing it down. Its a pretty thick gel consistency though so you have to work it a tad in your hands before putting it on your hair. It lathers nicely as well and smells good. Only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because it doesn't add as much volume as i hoped for but then again i have pretty thin hair. Out of 3 blonde shampoos, this is honestly the best I've tried. I was set on the Paul Mitchell violet shampoos when I began highlighting my hair, once I went full platinum I stocked up on the Not Your Mother's blonde shampoo, but none really seemed to keep my color 'natural' looking or vibrant. I actually received 2 sample bottles of this from Ulta's beauty bag promotion, and I am stretching it out as far as I can! My hair, with other products, tends to fade to a yellowish uneven looking blonde after several months, something I'm not satisfied with; using this product I noticed an immediate result and my hair looked more ashy after wash rather than a yellow or gold. It keeps my platinum looking vibrant but I would NOT recommend for daily use! I try to shower every 3 days so I don't strip the color from my hair, and use this every other wash. Be sure to actually leave the product on your hair for the allotted time as it actually does need the time to absorb. Beware! It WILL tint your hands! I used a bit too much one wash and it also left a purple tint in a few spots on my hair, however this was not a permanent nor lasting effect. To deter from the purple, I, like other users, mix this in with my daily shampoo to create a lather. Highly recommend this shampoo to those who are unhappy with the way their salon blonde is fading//having trouble keeping the proper blonde after washing. I used the product initially like the bottle says, lather and then rinse. However that was not long enough. I don't have super yellow hair to be honest. Its a pretty dull blonde but still super blonde. I wanted a more ashy, calm blonde, whatever that means. Anyway i found what worked for me after (three times!) was leaving it in 10 minutes. Everyone's hair is different but I left it in for ten minutes twice and finally got the result I wanted. So my hair was damaged from bad salon experience and left there with blonde hair alright but also alotta my hair falling out too…. More than I should’ve had. I’ve had it done before I know what’s normal and not for this process but it Has taken me months and months to regain some of the structure and strength back but only from using products like this. I have huge blonde hair care regiment but recently was sent this samples from Pinchme.com and I fell in love with this product the moroccanoil blonde perfecting shampoo and conditioner color care. I could tell after one use the different in my strands as far as they felt fuller softer and a lot stronger too. I have already purchased my own and is in its way in the mail as we speak. But I can’t say enough about the shampoo seriously the strength added to my hair after using and the toning feature was amazing. I have different depths of blonde and I felt that this made those lighter money pieces that perfect icy I’ve been looking for + strengthening in other product and only found here. Others I have to use separate product .. with moraccanoil u get it all in one tube!! Smell is beautiful the product color is rich purple and it won’t leave ur hair heavy or with residue. But clean and healthy feeling. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. (Do this for more toning effect) Mines was needing toned again and is pretty porous so I left in longer… but not too long. Anyhow I’d recommend to anyone who has chemically treated and or damaged hair needing give it some TLC. Price is fair considering other brand and they dint work as well as this one trust me.. I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! I will definitely be buying both the shampoo and conditioner soon since I think both will help keep my hair healthy and a nice shade of blondechopper923
It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

I received this product in exchange for a review. This product works pretty well but not out of the ballpark amazing. I am 6 months pregnant right now and currently have a hard time keeping up on my platinum blonde hair. That being said thai product is pretty concentrated and does it's job pretty well for the ends of my hair that are still very much blonde. I really don't like the smell of this shampoo I think it is overwhelmingly resemblance of being in a salon and am pretty glad the scent does not continue far beyond the rinse. As for if it improved my hair structure I would say I didn't see any improvement there at all but I still have a full bottle despite using it daily. The yellow tone though is pretty much gone though. I would recommend it if it were drastically price cut because the price tag associated with this product is way too high in my opinion I've used other products under 10 dollars with the same results that you can easily pick up at your local store.Hefaroni26
I know the going trend is purple/grey platinum blonde, which I don't think this would be the best for, but if u want to keep your warmth without being brassy, this works better than any purple shampoos I've used. I have a lot of Irish heritage, pale skin and eyes, lots of light freckling in sun touched spots and firey red and gold inside my naturally brown follicles that shines very brightly in sun light. The warmth has become more pronounced with age and even the stripes of brunette that are left untouched after doing lightening balayage are a redening chestnut/auburn. the warm blonde really compliments my coloring so I'm not complaining, I just don't want it to be too yellow or too brassy. all of the other purple shampoos I have tried made my hair look almost green, even redken which I read was specifically recommended by experts for warm blondes, and it didn't matter how quick I rinsed it out after applying,, it clashed with my hair coloring so badly.. I hated it. I was so thrilled to try this and find it actually worked perfectly, no brassy-ness or ugly yellow, just perfectly golden honey warm blonde and auburn/chestnut. I love ash blonde and the purple tinted platinum but this happy accident of a warm hair color works better on me than I'd have imagined and I'm so thrilled to find a way to maintain it. idk about it being drying like some others said, I've found all purple shampoos to be a little drying, I assumed because they lather so well and also I do a pre-wash so there's no product impeding it. having color treated hair, I always add lots of super conditioning products, hydraters and proteins treatments before I'm done on wash day and also being a warm blonde, I only use purple shampoo once a month, preferably when it's time for a clarifying cleanse and I do an oil treatment the night before. When you place an order, you never REALLY know what you're going to get due to high product demands and product shortages, etc. With my last order, I had wanted to get a perfume sample, but was pleasantly surprised with the Drybar Blonde Ale Brightening Shampoo and matching conditioner. My hair had been looking a little brassy, so I was really excited to try it! This shampoo is super pigmented. It's very, very, dark purple, and if you have brittle hair like mine, it suggests to mix it 50/50 with another shampoo, so I did just that. This shampoo smells really good as well. Something I can't quite put my finger on, but it smells absolutely amazing! My platinum hair was definitely toned after using this product. The brassiness was all gone after just one use, and I was left with my beautiful white hair again. As far as this shampoo making my hair soft though, I had to take a point off, because I feel that this shampoo made my hair a bit dry and frizzy. It was very manageable, don't get me wrong, but it took a little extra TLC after I got out of the shower. I got a sample of this shampoo & conditioner from a different beauty store & finally decided to give it a try since I was out of my favorite shampoo & the one I had just purchased by joico I was not a fan of. I'll start off by saying I have dyed blonde, curly hair & I'm mixed so my hair texture is more corse & on the dry side. When I first lathered this in my hair I thought I had grabbed the conditioner and not the shampoo. It made my hair feel so soft! Normally blue & purple shampoos dry my hair out & I can immediately feel that until I add a conditioner. I followed up with a different conditioner (joico blonde life brightening mask) I also did let the shampoo sit about 3-5 minutes in my hair as well. After I dried and flat ironed my hair I definitely noticed a difference. My hair was less brassy (I get a lot of orange/brown colors of brass esp. at the ends & the blonde fades) and I definitely saw more of the blonde tones coming through. After trying this I immediately ran out & picked up the full size bottle & soon I'll be purchasing the conditioner. I definitely think this is one of the best shampoos I have used for toning down the brass & bringing more of the blonde out. I also think it's very affordable as well. I normally use a very expensive, well known brand but I can't always splurge on it due to the high price tag of almost 50$ for a 6.8oz bottle of shampoo. This shampoo is good. It smells lovely and is free from all the nasties that fade your color, like sulfates. It's more for maintenance than for situations where your hair has gotten really, really yellow, in which case I'd recommend the much more intense Fanola No Yellow shampoo. That one is so dark it's like ink, whereas Blonde Ale is much lighter in color. The benefit is that you don't really have to worry about it turning your hair purple, because it's really not intensive enough for that. It's excellent for maintenance, though. This shampoo works best if your hair is a true light-yellow blonde. (If you're darker than that and you're pulling orange, you need a blue shampoo, not a purple one.) Anyway, I notice the difference when I use this. And I don't leave it on long – maybe a minute. I do think it's quite expensive considering it's not a very intense effect and it's only 8oz. I used to love Fekkai's old "baby blonde" shampoo – which was discontinued about 10 years ago. It was AMAZING. It made by blonde hair fuller, softer and shinier – really beautiful. So, I was excited when I saw Fekkai had brought back "baby blonde" and immediately purchased it. BUT – it's a completely different formula – really awful. This new "baby blonde" is NOT at all like the original formula, and completely dried my hair out, making it feel like straw. It also stripped the color. Just terrible. I think the company went overboard to follow the "paraben-free," "sulfate-free," "gluten-free," and basically "shampoo-free" craze out there. And in the process. created a product that's horrific & harsh on the hair – just so that it could use the "paraben-free" buzzwords. For me – I don't care about buzzwords and trends – I care about how the product works with my hair – how it enhances it and makes it look healthy. I always love ion products for coloring and toning my hair after bleaching, and this aftercare shampoo and conditioner line proved to be the same.. almost. The shampoo I found worked very well to keep my color bright and non brassy, but it left my hair so dry, even with the conditioner after. I started to mix some of the shampoo in with my Loreal Dream Lengths shampoo and it helped a lot. The conditioner is great for my hair all over, non greasy, conditions well, smells great. But because I'm working on healing my hair in certain areas I ended up using the Ion conditioner on my roots, top of my head to about midway down, where I would add the Loreal Dream Lengths conditioner, which as I state in my review of that Loreal conditioner, it leaves my roots and upper head hair greasy but perfectly midway down to my roots, so it's actually a perfect mix for me. I would use the Ion conditioner all over with not one issue, and sometimes do, but am still working to repair my ends. Overall great product line from Ion. I use Arctic fox hair color to keep my hair. A vibrant mixture of purple and red. Red is a notoriously difficult color to keep in your hair because of its molecular size compared to other colors. It doesn't lock into the cuticle as quickly and this product helps with that. I not only use it right after coloring my hair, I also use it beyond that. Rather than washing my hair every single day which would strip the color right out of it, I rinse my hair and then condition it with this product. Stop changing the formula! It seems like every time I’ve bought this the past year, the formula is different. I loved this shampoo (and the conditioner) for years, but this past year it’s a crapshoot as to how much they’ve changed the formula. The latest – similar to the situation I found last spring – dries out your hair, it doesn’t lather and my hair feels like straw when I use it. Out of curiosity, my husband and I went through and compared the ingredients from one bottle to the next and discovered 7 missing ingredients. I love this stuff and can't get enough of it! my 3rd bottle already and it's the only purple shampoo I trust for my blonde highlights! Loooove the smell especially! it's not a drying formula unlike any other purple shampoos I tried which is also another major plus. What I do is I dampened the hair slightly with just a lil bit of water then I squeeze a good amount on my palm (more than they recommend on the bottle) and place it all over my blonde highlights. I leave it on for 30-45 mins and then properly rinse it. This technique uses a lot more product than what's recommended on the bottle but I noticed that this way the brassiness stays gone for a month long so I only need to do this once a month. I could not recommend this shampoo and my technique enough! I love love love this shampoo!Sha
TLDR – great shampoo, horrible packaging I love this shampoo! Smells so good and has made a huge difference in my hair color. However, that packaging is horrible. The shampoo is constantly leaking out of the top of the lid. Every time I get in the shower, every other product even remotely near it is covered in a purple layer of shampoo. I should have caught the red flag when every other bottle in store was leaking and I thought I had found the one bottle that wasn’t leaking. Conditioner doesn’t have same issue… I wonder why. I feel like I’ve lost half the bottle by it just leaking out. Product could be vastly improved by putting it in a bottle that does its’ job.Disappointed

I started using this recently on my preschooler's light blonde hair. I didn't realize how quickly/easily blonde hair starts looking dull and discolored until she was born (no one in my family is blonde)! I wanted to try something that would keep her hair looking bright, shiny, and white-gold WITHOUT toning all of the color out. This does just that. I use it twice a week -without the conditioner- and leave it on for a couple minutes. I also like that it doesn't weigh her fine hair down, but still moisturizes and detangles enough that we don't need conditioner. The shampoo is a deep violet with a subtle pearlescent sheen. It lathers into lavender suds, but doesn't seem to stain. I'm not sure how to describe the scent, but it's wonderful! My daughter's hair still smells great the next morning. If you're looking for something to really tone your hair, I don't think this is it. However, if you're a natural blonde just looking to rid your hair of any discoloration I think this would be great!NurseOlive85
I've been using purple shampoos for years & for a drugstore option, it's not bad as I believe I've found an effective way of getting the most brightening & toning out of this so long as you don't mind the extra step. I recommend washing hair with any regular shampoo 1st to get the hair clean & this will help it to better absorb the purple pigment. Now blot hair so it's not dripping wet & apply shampoo in sections starting at the top using a bit more of the purple shampoo than you normally would. Now as you're starting to work it into the hair, do not work it into a full rich lather – the idea is to work it in thoroughly while trying to keep the shampoo as purple as possible, this will help the pigmen to penetrate the hair. Now do the same to the middle, & ends of the hair – again, do not work it into a full rich lather. You're going to allow shampoo sit on your hair as you continue with your shower – clip longer hair up so it's not inadvertently rinsed. Let it sit like this for a few minutes, at least 3 & up to like 5. I wouldn't do this w/a high end purple shampoo like Redken or something – it would turn your hair a grayish purple color, but this product is nowhere near as rich w/purple pigment. So if you follow these steps, you'll see a difference. Then just rinse & condition as usual.Allyson6C
I've used this product for a while. Then I bought a new bottle and washed my hair. that day clumps fell out. I didn't think it was from this shampoo. I used olaplex #3 and heard that caused hair loss. It's been months and I stopped use of both and my hair still sheds an insane amount. I went to the doctors and everything came back normal. It was taking its toll. I lost most of my hairs thickness. So I did a test today with hairs from my brush. Which is a lot hair I might add. I put olaplex on some hair in one container. Left it on for the same amount I did before. I rinsed it with hot water and the hair was still strong. I did the same with the purple shampoo. Rinsed it and the hair was falling apart!! It was melting and was completely destroyed. Just a warning for anyone buying a new product test it on some hair from your hairbrush and see how your hair reacts.Nicole
