All other brands, regardless of cost & integrity, either give me temporary relief of either dandruff or inevitability cause excessive build up over time. And in many cases, cause even worse dandruff. I read a few reviews before buying that mentioned adverse reactions, but I've never had a reaction to shampoo before . I was excited to purchase because my scalp tends to get bad in the winter and I'm sick of the smell of TGel and this sounded a lot better. It does smell so much better and I loved the consistency. This shampoo and conditioner really changed things for my scalp and hair. I had really bad flaky dandruff that I was struggling with for over 4 months. I have healthy fine hair which is prone to getting greasy. This shampoo sounded like a godsend and after first use I quite liked the results it certainly cleaned my hair. However after multiple uses I noticed my hair would be very extremely knitted after washing and brushing through was causing my hair to actually rip I could hear my hair snapping!!. This is very strange for my hair to rip I also noticed my hair felt kind of sticky or coated and running my hand through my hair again it would often rip !. This shampoo not only helps with having it look fresh, I mostly use it for root cover up. It gives me an extra 2-3 weeks between colors. This conditioner is truly the most nourishing conditioner I’ve ever used and I love the smell. The only way it could be better is if it came in a bigger size. I have very long hair that tangles easily so I use a lot of conditioner. Also I usually only brush/comb my hair in the shower while the conditioner is in. I know that’s not recommended but it’s literally the only time I can get it untangled. Anyone with wavy or curly hair knows what happens if you brush dry hair. Unfortunately this conditioner is not slick enough to allow me to continue brushing in the shower, so I’m having a real dilemma deciding wether or not to order again. This is an interesting conditioner. It is completely different than other conditioners I have used which are generally creamier. It isn’t creamy which makes me tend to use more to saturate my hair. I have added a very SMALL dab of a creamer conditioner so as not to use too much. I then leave it in instead of rinsing it out. This works perfectly for me. Top positives: it moistures well (my hair no longer feels dry). Leaving it in helps my hair to be very manageable. The ingredients are holistic toxin free and a definite Plus. It’s hit or miss when it comes to ‘natural’ hair shampoos and conditioners. I think this one works well, as it is creamy and easy to rub into my hair and scalp. I don’t really notice a difference in how my hair actually looks and feels afterwards and the scent is a little strong for me (both versions of conditioner). I was not very hopeful as we have tried many other products which did nothing to increase the fullness of her hair. After about a month, I noticed her hair a lot thicker. I have long fine and wavy hair and have always found products, especially almost 100% of conditioners I've tried, too heavy, i.e. greasy and especially once slept on, flattening. Also have the added challenge of scalp and skin sensitivity anywhere my hair rests against my face and neck. THIS NEW FORMULA HAS RUINED WHAT USED TO BE MY FAVORITE PRODUCT! I was told be my local Aveda salon all that changed was the "look" of this shampoo. I am very upset I spent so much money on something I lied to about. I am trying to figure how to keep using it mixed with another shampoo to let my money be wasted. Each time I need to shampoo it's the feeling of ugh, and wishing I could trust your brand as I used to. I am seriously considering a new brand, Aveda has taken away all the classics that worked so well and keep changing the ones that are still offered but it's not the real deal it's very misleading. Then on top of that Aveda has a no return policy or satisfaction guarantee. Shame on you! You shouldn't have to sucker people into your products then make them feel stuck with them. I still need to try the conditioner which probably would make even a more dramatic difference but so far the shampoo does help with my frizzy hair. I have wavy medium thick hair which I have to flat iron daily for it to look decent. Not cute at all because of the constant hair sticking out. The shampoo did control it a little better but I didn't use conditioner due to not having one. Conditioner is definitely needed with my type of hair. I did like the retails even though but the only thing I didn't like was the smell. It smells like generic laundry detergent. I do believe it might be good for some people that hates intense smells like some very well knows shampoos have but I'm one of those that I love having my hair smelling fruity, flower or any sweet smell. In this case since the product works I can just find a final product to use on my hair at end for smell. That's the only thing I would change.Risse
I had used the old Smooth Infusion formula for years and loved it, so I was a bit dismayed when I saw the formula had changed. The initial reviews from longtime customers were terrible, so I decided to jump ship to a different brand for a while. After being quite dissatisfied with that brand, I decided to come back and give this new formula a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! Compared to the old formula, this one doesn't lather quite as well, but the scent and results are pretty much the same as the old formula. Sure, my hair is a bit oily and ready for a wash by the 3rd day (I have long, thick, frizzy/wavy hair living in a humid climate so I'm not a daily shampooer), but it's not an oil slick like some of the reviews made it out to be. I have medium length and someone thin hair. I found this shampoo to be very lightweight and while it did add shine, moisture, and smoothness, I didn’t find a difference between this shampoo vs drug store brand. My hair is not dyed and already very hydrated so unfortunately I didn’t see any difference. It does smell nice and my scalp wasn’t dry. The ends of my hair were smooth and didn’t look dry. My husband also used it as he has dry scalp and he felt that it was helpful in keeping his scalp moisturized. On days where I blew dry my hair, it was silky smooth. On days where I air dried, it was fluffy and smooth. My hair was not oily after 4 days without any products. I rarely touch my hair to avoid transferring oils. For the price, I wished it was a bigger bottle. I did use the IGK Dream Hair Conditioner after shampooing. I got this product in a FabFitFun box. I’ll start off saying that the actual product is great. It lathers nicely, smells great and my hair feels awesome after using it. 5/5 for the product itself. Where it loses points is the packaging. It gives hardcore dollar store vibes. The bottles are not opaque or at least have an opaque line to see the product and how much is left. Due to the font size and style and busyness of the label and also the above comment, it’s really really difficult to tell which is the shampoo and conditioner. Each time I’ve used it, I had to open the shower curtain to get better lighting to see which is which. The packaging is so poor and cheap looking. I was surprised that the small bottle goes for $30. I got this product for free in exchange of my honest review. First off packaging is pretty, price wise I say it’s a bit steeped for a regular sized shampoo bottle. Of course I know it’s a vegan product so a lot of work went into production I would say? The product consistency is thick and once I lathered onto my med length hair I find that I needed to pour more so I can get the lather I need for my hair. It felt a bit stripping but I liked the feeling of it being really cleaned. Smell is nice not too fragrantly. im so impressed by this shampoo! not only is it affordable compared to other salon shampoos but I could really see a difference in my hair after using it and will continue to use this shampoo. my hair feels so clean and bouncy after using this. it doesn't feel dry or like it's squeaky clean just soft and very manageable. definitely my favourite product and brand.
My hair is complicated. I have what I call a white girl fro and it is not pretty! And this is not to be slanderous in any way whatsoever! With my hair type, whatever you want to call it, frizzes so bad when it's raining or just humid, with just this line of product, the frizz is so much less than ever before. Even if I start to get a little warm, my hair previously would would start frizzing up, especially at the crown. I see a few bad reviews, understandable. I didn't look at the ingredients list which I guess I should have. I usually buy this at my salon but just ordered it from here. I think this line smells AMAZING. It smells like you left the salon every time you wash your hair. My hair feels soft and clean afterwards and doesn't leave a residue or make my hair fall out at all. My hair has been so dry and I've always spent at least 30 minutes detangling that it stresses me out and I usually end up procrastinating and only brush it once every few days and it is DREADFUL. I bought this specifically to wash off the remaining hair dye fading on my hair. This is not a shampoo I regularly use due to my chemically processed hair and can be a bit drying. It impressively cleanses the hair and scalp by striping all the build-up and residue, including hair dye to the best of its ability. I picked up this shampoo because I live in an apartment and my shower has a lot of hard water and minerals that come from the pipes. I was very hopeful this shampoo would help to remove all that mineral and hard water buildup, which it did. however if you are going to use this, use a moisturizing mask afterwards because this will dry out your hair and make it tangly and unmanageable. Also only use this 1-2x monthly to avoid severely dehydrating your hair. This is an inexpensive product compared to other hard water or detox shampoos, but i have noticed the pricier options hydrate your hair a bit more while washing with them. I've been using this product since July 2017. I started using it because my hair was destroyed at a hair salon. I lost my hair over the entire crown of my head. My dermatologist said I had thermal burns to my scalp. I wore a wig for over a year while having it treated by another hair care professional who was successful in getting my hair to grow back, but unfortunately, she was not able to bring back all of my hair. The top and sides of my head were very, very thin. So much so, I can't wear certain styles because the hair is so thin that it's not able to cover my scalp. It reminds me of a bald man with a with a comb over (not pretty). The good news is, the rest of my hair has thickened and grown using this product, and there has been no further breakage on the top and sides. The bad news is, my hair in the damaged areas hasn't thickened to hide the baldness as of yet. I realize it's a process and will take time, so for that reason I will continue to use it (as well as the thickening shampoo and conditioner) to see if anything happens in the future. My hairdresser feels as if my follicles have been badly damage and that the hair may never return. But I'm going to hang in there and hope for the best.
Since my dermatologist prescribed the Viviscal supplements, I decided to try the shampoo and conditioner. My review is twofold. Results: liked the manageability and appearance of my hair after use. Since lockdown, my hair has been falling at an alarming rate, to the point that I started searching my scalp to see if I have any bald spots (thankfully no! but I would say I have lost half of my hair in total). This shampoo has really changed my life, as cheesy as that sounds. I have only used it three / four times and my hair stopped falling completely. The bottle might be small compared to your average Pantene etc, but you don't need to use a huge amount (and I have very long hair). Really recommend to those freaking out like me over hair loss and will be repurchasing for sure.

I have just spent the last 15 minutes trying to take out the biggest knot in my hair thanks to this and it’s equally offensive conditioner buddy! In the end I’ve had to cut out a chunk of my hair which looked like half a dreadlock! I have very little hair as it is; I’m on the verge of tears. I won’t be buying this again, I suggest you save your money too. I know I should’ve brushed it earlier instead of letting it completely dry naturally (humidity hasn’t helped) but I couldn’t find my tangle teaser.. so it’s been a series of unfortunate events for me today..Ay X.

I don’t like to switch to a different types of hair products but I have been struggling with my frizzy hair for a long time. So when I received these products I was actually very excited to try this new anti-frizz set of shampoo, lamellar water rinse, and priming cream. I absolutely love this NYM shampoo and it has an amazing smell. Even after using it for the first time my hair felt so soft, shiny and smooth. If you have frizzy hair like me, this shampoo will definitely help you with that problem! It has the best ingredients, for example macadamia oil will help your hair regrown and also be smooth, hyaluronic acid help your hair reduce freeze, and add volume which is great. Not Your Mother's Anti-Frizz Shampoo is a wonderful product. It leaves my hair clean and with great smell. I got to use it with the other two products of the same line ( conditioner and lamellar water) and the results I got were great. I have a very long hair and frizz, dryness, split ends are few of the main concerns I have when I think about my hair. This shampoo along with the other products of the same line improved my hair condition. I noticed a significant improvement on the hydration and elasticity of my hair. My hair look stays "behaved" even with the high humidity of the south, where I live. I love how shinning, smooth and straight my hair looks after using Not Your Mother's products. Love the teal packaging since that’s my favorite color! I love that this is sulfate free because shampoos with sulfates strip any natural shine I have from my hair and makes it look like a dull mess. This is a super moisturizing shampoo and was great to have during the summer when my hair was taking a beating from swimming, chlorine, etc. I do have naturally oily hair and what I noticed is that this isn’t a shampoo I can use everyday, because when I did my hair became weighed down due to being overly moisturized (or not cleansing enough?idk) to the point where my hair looked like I hadn’t washed it. Once I figured that out I cut using this down to only days when my hair felt particularly parched which worked out very well. My hair was left super moisturized, especially my ends which can feel like hay due to drying elements such as chlorine. Not to mention this left my hair looking so shiny and smooth, so this delivers on the claims. Definitely a good shampoo to use if you know it’ll be a humid day. My hair loves to frizz and this definitely kept it smoother. It’s fairly cheap and I was able to find it at multiple stores when I went out shopping. If you’re looking for a great sulfate free moisturizing frizz prevention shampoo this should definitely be your pick, but just be mindful if you’re oily like me and use sparingly, but if you naturally have dry hair your hair will Ives this and will drink it right up.

I have used Redken for 30 years. it seems like no matter which formula I like, they discontinue it. I used to use Go Clean and I liked it. When L'OREAL bought the brand, the quality suffered. Redken Brews Daily was not good and I thought all hope was lost. Then I tried the Extra Clean and lived it for years. Now it's discontinued and they recommend this scented water. It even says it's lightweight which is fine if you have normal hair and work in an office. But if you exercise or have even slightly oily hair, this is not for you!AS

I use to go to the Bumble & Bumble hair salon, in Manhattan. I am familiar with the products, and have used them often, in the past. I just finished using gloss moderne shampoo. It has put me off all other shampoos. I figured B&B, Gentle shampoo would be ,gentle. It was not. My hair felt "stripped" of moisture and softness after using it. I also had a difficult time brushing my hair. My hair does not feel right after using it. You have to use conditioner, with this shampoo. Gloss Moderne shampoo, is pretty expensive, but it is so worth it. It smells amazing, and looks like and feels like gold. It makes my hair feel like satin, and I never have to use conditioner. Whatever chemicals are in B&B, it was just bad for my hair. I will never buy their products again.SsRr
So it definitely does clean pretty well, was gently on my semi permanent colored hair. But I didn't realize it has silicones and sulfates in it and I usually try to avoid those types of shampoos. The smell was very nice and the lather was nice as well. Very disappointed that it has silicones and sulfates in it, because if it hadn't this would have been my next favorite shampoo.
For the first few washes this was like a dream come true! It did exactly what it promised to: cleaned my hair without stripping it in any way or weighing it down. Lathered very nicely too and the scent – just wow! I think it's Freesia or Magnolia (not too sure) but I'd catch a whiff of my hair hours after washing and think "that is such a lovely fragrance". I was in love, but this love affair was not meant to last! Eventually my scalp started to itch in protest, as it just wasn't effective enough at cleansing. The daily oil and sweat accumulated more and more by the day, as it wasn't being removed properly. Stopped using it, and switched back to my Briogeo Charcoal shampoo which I love but cannot use too often. Gave 'Gentle Shampoo' to my mom who btw loves it, no complaints from her. The Shampoo gets your hair very clean. there is nothing left in the hair you can feel the cleanliness. I think this would be great for anyone looking to remove all product, glue, extensions, build up ect. from hair. This shampoo will do the trick. For my own personal use, I would only use this when cleaning my hair from those purposes just listed. Because ethnic hair can tend to be very dry, stripping thr hair of more oils on a regular basis wouldn't be ideal for me. I'm always looking to add more moisture to my hair while doing the washing and conditioning process. I enjoyed the CONDITIONER as well but it isn't Moisturizing enough to the level that I want it to be. While preforming it on my natural hair. I recently relaxed and cut my hair, perhaps using it on non-kinky hair the experience will be different.leena.g
I am incredibly picky when it comes to my hair care. I color my hair with henna and my scalp also doesn't respond very well to strong formulas. This formula is quite luxurious. The conditioner is a light formula and I found no extra hair shedding. It washed out easily, left my hair clean and with no residue. I also noticed that I was able to go just as long in between washes as my previous shampoo and conditioner. My roots felt like there was extra volume and overall my hair did not feel weighed down. I personally have normal to dry hair which I color so I try to only wash every 3 to 4 days. My daughter also tried this shampoo and conditioner but she felt like it shortened the time in between washes and she has normal to oily hair.lucy.v
