Best Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum (2024 Update)

I bought this to replace our old Dyson V6 Animal Cordless. I read many reviews videos for research. I had a Shark Navigator Pro before and I know Shark makes a good vacuum, so I was excited to try this. It seemed great. It went together easily and the crevice tool did well between the couch cushions and around the edges of the house. I liked the flexible arm that let the vacuum bend to get really far under furniture like my tables and sideboards. It was easy to empty the canister and easy to use. After using the vacuum about 30 minutes, a clog developed in the first joint where dirt from the head goes into the tube to take it up to the canister. This clog (half of which is pictured) was so big it extended from the opening of the vacuum suction hole on the bottom of the head, all the way up to where the head attached to the main long arm. After looking into the vacuum head's mechanics, I found that there are three "lock screws" on the underneath that allow you to take off the bottom guard piece to access the suction tube, which means Shark knew this was a problem and they "fixed" it by giving the consumer more work. I was able to use a cat wand toy to shove through the bottom to push the clog out the other side. This mess pictured on my couch was the result. As someone who has severe dust and environmental allergies, I don't exactly want to play with clogs of my allergens in order to get my vacuum running. I also have a large house, two long haired Siberian cats, four teenagers, and a job. The LAST THING I have time for is housework and messing around with crappy vacuums. For the price point, I'd expect this vacuum to actually work properly, and not take a ton of work to use it. The entire thing felt wobbly when fully connected and used to vacuum floors, so I didn't see the expected excellent quality of materials or workmanship for the price point either. Furthermore, as several reviewers stated the vacuum did shock me multiple times with static electricity buildup, which was annoying. Another con to this vacuum is that when I was vacuuming my couch where the cats lay, it wouldn't pick up all the cat fur regardless of how many passes I made. The suction just wasn't powerful enough, or maybe the static buildup offset the suction, gluing the cat hair to the couch in dreadlocked strands. Besides all this, the vacuum was very heavy and bulky. This thing will be going back tomorrow, and I'll be placing my order for the Dyson V11 Animal. I'd rather pay twice as much and know for a fact that my vacuum will work when I need it to, how I need it to. Save yourself the headache and don't get this Shark Vertex Cordless vacuum.MandieSue76

What I love about this vacuum is that it folds down for easy storage, and I can fit it in the room close by the cage. It's very easy to operate, and easy to empty the dust cup. The swivel powerhead with lights works great. It comes with several attachment tools, however, when you remove the power head to use the attachments, the suction power is not as strong. I bought the Shark because I have a corded one downstairs. I needed a vacuum upstairs for my 2 floors, that was light weight and can maneuver pretty well. First off I want to say the "Shark" name is good. This cordless vacuum does not do well with pets. I have 8 cats and cat sand everywhere, the only thing it does is spit the sand out from the back, Has a very difficult time picking up fur as well. You know when you see a piece of fur and the vacuum front just has to go near it to suck it up. This vacuum does not, It just makes it tumble farther. Good for light clean ups but for every week vacuuming, I strongly recommended getting the corded one. It was more power for suction and spot clean ups if you spill rice or oats on floor. To bad because for the price you think it would be worth it. This vacuum is now on our 1st floor where there is very little traffic and pets. Perfect for a formal dinning room or front room that no ones goes in and you need a quick spruce up. Also if you have cats and cat sand, clean filter ever ytime you use it, the dust seems to bog down the performance as well.jsepulvida

This vacuum is light weight and easy to use EXCEPT the on button is just above the button that opens the dirt container . Every time I vacuum, by accident, I open the dirt container and dirt goes everywhere! Its a mess! This happened to a couple people who tried to help me as well. What a horrible design error!!! Plus the dirt container is very small and needs to be emptied often…unless you vacuum with it open!! I purchased it because my health is failing and I needed something lightweight and easy to use.. Also the main opening in the floor portion totally plugs and the entire bottom piece needs to be taken apart and you need a bottle brush or a something long enough to push the plug of dust or whatever out of the elbow (which you can straighten). Its not difficult, but annoying and messy as well. I would never recommend this vacuum to anyone, its too much work and too much money for the horrible design. I love Shark products. I have been waiting for the TSV and for this vac to be back in stock. I purchased rose gold, blends well with a neutral palate. I still use my original upright Shark vacuum purchased from QVC (10 years) which is a beast at cleaning my tile, wood and carpet floors. I use a robot vac for 1/3 of my floors that are not heavily traveled. The top of the line name brand R- robo vact does a ok job, but it takes a long time and I needed a stick/handheld vac which I could use for small jobs in the kitchen, sunroom and run it over high traffic areas daily. It is quick and picks up well. It has a swivel head and lies down to get back and under furniture. The battery life last and I have never had trouble having is run out. This device is not a replacement for a quality upright vacuum. Nothing is. This vac is for small jobs, daily floor maintenance and I love it. You are able to buy a replacement battery from Shark if needed and I love that too. So many stick vacs end their battery life and you cant easily replace the battery. Not the case here, so this device will last a long time. The hand vac is handy (HaHa) for crevasse's, corners, and I have used the pet tool on my sofa and it does a great job with dog fur. The filter needs to be changed sometimes during a job based on how much stuff it has vacuumed up. I have not cleaned it yet, the manufacturer says to clean the filter monthly. I have had this for about a month now and I do have some things to say about it. First off, the pros: Very east to use and set up. I can't tell you how nice it is to just pick this up and use it WITHOUT having to plug it in. Just pick it up and go. I love how east it is to take the top part off for when I have to get under areas the vaccum can't. I love how easy it is to empty the vacuum out. Simply press a button and release the dirt. No dust flying everywhere. Cons- The battery life is atrocious. I can't vacuum my 1200 sq home all the way without it dying. It is very annoying when you are all set on cleaning and getting it done quick and then to have the battery die and wait an hour or more before it charges back up. The dust area is very small. Some people may love this, because the don't want dust flying everywhere, and I love that to, however, the area is so small that after just a little vacuuming, the vacuum suck is really bad and you have to dump the dust. The last thing is, the add ons for the hand part of the vacuum does not connect to the body of the vacuum, so you have to hold them in your hand, pocket or walk over to the charging station and grab it. Minor annoyance but felt like it needed to be said. Overall, a great vacuum for small areas and little cleanups for everyday use, not great for a big clean day.HugeMunchkin

I received this vacuum for Christmas, and have been using it daily for about three months now. I really wanted to love this vacuum, but I don't. The main issue I have is with the self-cleaning brushroll: Sure it doesn't tangle, but that would require it to actually pick up fur in the first place. This vacuum adamantly refuses to pick up any fur that isn't just sitting loose on the surface of the rug…which is deeply unhelpful. The roll just wipes fur along, without doing anything to agitate the carpet. I have used the entire battery life of this vacuum on my single living room area rug, just to still need to use my rubber broom. For a vacuum that costs >$300, this is extremely disappointing, and considering the vacuum is called the "pet pro," I truly don't understand why this vacuum simply cannot handle fur in any regard. My second problem with this vacuum is that it leaks dust from every single joint and seam the entire time I'm using it. Who wants to be covered in dust from vacuuming? Not I. Additionally, the wand itself clogs constantly in a way that's very difficult to clean out. In fact, most of this vacuum is difficult to clean, outside of changing the filters. I have two cats and a lab mix who sheds like it's his mission on earth, and frankly, this vacuum just does not cut it.LindseyJoy

I've never made a purchase that I've been more disappointed in. The vacuum worked fine the first couple of times now every time is vacuum my house I have to unclog the machine from the many many many potential clog spots. I never once had this problem with our previous dyson vacuum. I have a golden retriever, so yes, having to maybe unload the vacuum is to be expected however for a product that supposedly specializes in pets, it does a TERRIBLE job. I've had to take apart the base of the bottom when that gets clogged, the shaft of the vacuum comes apart and now hair seems to get clogged making the base of the vacuum essentially worthless. I am so so so bummed and wish I would have returned this while I had the chance. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT A PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY PICKS UP DOG HAIR.Megan

I absolutely love that it is cordless. I loved the black friday price… i think it was $159 or $179 something like that . WAY under the price for a dyson. I absolutely love it. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat all whom shed ALOT. I use this vacuum daily, several times a day and have not had any issue with the battery. Keep in mind i mentioned having a little zoo of animals, so the first month i had to take the machine apart to be able to remove clogged hair on the long stick. The instructions dont really tell you how to clean it. There is more than just emptying the basket. To avoid it getting clogged, i now try to blow out all the hair in the tubes Atleast once a week. Only negative i would mention is I wish it was a bit stronger and wish it gave an option on height. For example if there is a leaf on the floor it will not suck it in becase the vacuum in not high off the ground to pick it up. I believe the dyson is a tad stronger but its not worth paying $400, when i can just use this one for under $200. I do not regret purchasing this at all. First, I will say I really like Shark vacuum cleaners and this one is no exception. The vacuum came well packaged and was easy to open and assemble. The vacuum consists of 3 basic parts the floor nozzle, wand tube and the motor/dust cup. In addition, Shark now has a deodorizing cartridge for this model that you insert into the floor nozzle to keep things smelling fresh. Assembly is easy. Insert the wand into the floor nozzle and then attach the motor/dust cup to the top of the wand. It is recommended to charge the battery fully before using the first time. This process is very easy as the battery is removable and can be charged in or out of the head unit with the included charger. This new shark incorporates Clean Sense IQ which identifies when there is more dirt that needs to be picked up and can adjust the suction of the vacuum and there is a bar readout on the floor nozzle to let you know this is working. It seems to work very well. The floor nozzle uses and unique roller head that is a combination of the soft microfiber roller with rubber fins imbedded into the roller so it works very well on both hardwood floors and carpet and the way the fins are configured virtually eliminates hair tangles. I really like this new roller as I have a lot of hardwood floors. There are also built in LED headlights which is a feature I would never want to do without. The controls are mounted at the top of the unit and consist of the on/off button (you don’t have to hold a trigger) a button that allows you to adjust the suction power between ECO, Clean Sence IQ and boost. There are 2 indicator lights that show the battery level and whether or not the Sense IQ is active. The vacuum comes with 2 attachments that include a brush for cleaning things like furniture and an extendable wand for cleaning along the floor edge or reaching high places. The vacuum is light weight weighing in at a little less than 8 pounds which makes it very maneuverable and easy to handle. It is very well balanced and the head swivels easily and can be laid almost flat for reaching under low furniture and beds. The vacuum does a great job of cleaning both hardwood and carpet and I have been using it in the Sense IQ mode. It has plenty of suction power and picks up great. The dust cup is large and easy to empty. The dust cup is removable and there are two filters inside that Shark recommends you clean on a regular basis by removing them a rinsing under water only (no soap). There is also a HEPA filter in the motor head that can be cleaned. The vacuum comes with a simple 1-page Quick Start Guide that provides enough information for assembling the vacuum and some information on the controls. There is a more complete manual on the Shark website. Battery life varies depending on which suction level you use and whether you are using the floor nozzle or not. These run times seem to vary from about 10 minutes to 45 minutes. I got plenty of battery life to vacuum my house with the floor nozzle without having to re-charge the battery. One new feature on the model is the ability to remove the motor head and with a clip that is positioned low on the wand you can clip the motor head on to the wand and the vacuum will stand upright without having to rest it against a wall. There is no wall mount for this unit so this feature is very convenient. If there was one thing that would be nice to have it would be a second battery but additional batteries are available if you find that you need another one. This is our second Shark vacuum cleaner that we have gotten from Best Buy. Sadly, I had gotten the last one a little too wet and so it was making some god-awful noise. In my haste to find out why I accidentally broke a few pieces that did not need to be broken. So, it was time for a new one. Luckily it was no time when I had the opportunity for us to get this vacuum. I must say that our previous Shark was insanely more powerful…like slinging the rug across the floor power on the self-propelled wheels, but I can't really complain too terribly much because it still picks up everything that we have needed this one too. I just wish it was a tad more powerful in the self-moving wheels and the suction. If you have never had a Shark or I suppose any upright stick vacuums whether it was this one with the cordless functionality or the previous corded Shark that we had, neither of them would sit upright unless you unhooked the vacuum from the stick. Surely this could be counter-balanced by some weights in the base, but I do not want to have to do this myself when I feel it should be done from the factory. If the manufacturer can solve a) the power of the wheels and the power as far as suction, b) extend the battery life just a bit more and c) solve for the not sitting upright unless disassembled I do not think I would ever move away from the upright stick vacuum or the Shark brand ever again! I have done an extended test to test out the fragrance/odor neutralizing piece that they have on offer for this model. I can say it has lasted almost the entire month I am a few days shy, but it is still going) and that is with us having 2 pets and using it every few days in short durations. Will the fragrance pods be a gimmick like the toilet seats by a certain large company are? Or will it be here to stay? I am not sure…sadly I bought one of those toilet seats, but we ended up going with a heated one not long after (amazing if I must say so myself). Anyway, I digress. So, the vacuum and the fragrance of the pod is holding up strong so far for the better part of almost a month. I was pleasantly surprised & we are all super happy with the Shark Cordless Pro Vacuum so far in my house! All in all, though we are extremely happy & are super pleased with our new vacuum. Thank you to Shark for making such a solid vacuum-it just needs a couple minor changes (in my opinion) to go from great to perfect! The Shark Cordless Pro with Clean Sense IQ is an excellent vacuum. The latest in a line of lithium ion rechargeable upright vacuums that harken back to the original Shark vacuum. Shark has had some hallmarks that set it apart, and the Pro includes all of them and a slew of its own features that offer a unique offering. So first of all, unboxing the vacuum is easy enough. Inside the box you’ll find the main unit, charger, battery (preinstalled), main tube and vacuum head, and attachments (pet multi-tool, and crevice). Everything is packaged securely and the unit is basically good to go out of the box (after charging of course). There are a lot of little removable stickers that tell you how to exactly use different features of the vacuum. This is appreciated because Shark has so many unique features. There’s even a handy QR code on the main unit that will take you to the digital manual. This cordless vacuum builds on the construction and ideas of Shark’s previous vacuums. You get a detachable main unit and will hook on the main tube for storage. You have a bagless design with an easy to empty latch. You get a small but maneuverable vacuum head. Of course many of these ideas are evolved, honed, and refined to a large extent. For instance, the dust bin is larger, and the filter conic (compared to previous designs which seemed to get wrapped up in hair/fur more often). The battery packs are similar but different from previous models (at least the previous Duo Clean I had). The vacuum head has a load of sensors, etc. Obviously, this vacuum is attempting to appeal to a Pro-sumer (get it?). Several features of this vacuum I really like that seem to be new and unique to Shark. The first is Clean Sense IQ. This uses an infrared sensor to attempt to detect dust and adjust the power of the vacuum dynamically. It gives an indication of how ‘clean’ the floors are. Another thing unique to the vacuum head is the Odor Neutralizer cartridge, which essentially is an air freshener for your vacuum. It keeps the vacuum smelling nice and the air it spews nice as well. Power of the vacuum is interesting. The Clean Sense IQ means that on that Clean Sense setting that it’s always adjusting power to the required level. The idea here is to save battery when you’re doing maintenance cleaning, and then having the vacuum increase power when needed in dirtier areas. For the most part this does pretty well. There is an IR sensor scanning the dirt coming into the vacuum and adjusting the power. A row of LED lights will illuminate indicating the power level being applied and the idea is that it should abate as the carpet/surface is cleaned more thoroughly giving you a visual indicator if the area is clean. Of course you can override the Clean Sense IQ behavior by selecting ‘Eco’ or Boost mode. These settings change the runtime of the vacuum – which is estimated by Shark at 40 minutes in Eco mode. That’s about accurate, and you’ll get a variable amount with Clean Sense, but I was able to do a quick clean (about 3000 sq ft) on a charge. Of course a thorough cleaning would involve taking some breaks. Recharge takes over an hour, so you’ll want to plan out more through cleanings. The brush element is another interesting feature, having silicon fins and microfiber stuffed pretty much everywhere else. It seems to do a pretty good job picking up most debris I’ve thrown at it. I do seem to have trouble with larger pieces like cereal (thanks kids), but it will pick it up. I appreciate that it’s gentle on surfaces like hardwood. The crevice tool has a soft bristle brush that slides out to the edge, great for cleaning corners without leaving marks on the pain. It limits the crevice tool slightly due to it sliding back only about 6” but it shouldn’t be an issue but for those with deep cushioned couches. The pet multi tool is really just a flat brush with a removable soft bristle brush. It works pretty well on my microfiber couches without the bristle attachment. The Order Neutralizer is an interesting feature and I can’t say I've noticed a huge difference (but I have been congested, so subjectively I might be missing it). Cartridges are $15 for 2, and you only get one in the box. I appreciate the idea, but I don’t know how often I’ll be replacing it. Another great feature of this vacuum for those with allergies is the built in HEPA filter. This was hard to find, but luckily companies like Shark have listened to the market and brought .3 micron filters to the masses. The HEPA filter is important to those that suffer from dust, dander, or pollen allergies. Vacuums can exacerbate environmental allergens by picking them up and spewing them out at high speed in the air. Having an appropriate filter to capture these microscopic particles is essential. Also, the filter is washable, which is a huge convenience. Maintenance is pretty simple. Keywords: Versatile, Long battery life, and Great Value for its features: Versatile: The vacuum is configured to be used as a traditional upright vacuum for floors, a handheld vacuum for smaller places/cars, and connected to various vacuum tips for multiple purposes like furniture, pets, and high-up places like ceiling fans. The reason I like this compared to most of the other stick-style cordless vacuums is that most of the weight is not distributed on the top and when you configure it as a handheld one, the tip and the big container (bottom motor, etc.) is separate. This makes vacuuming above floor much easier and more accurate. Long battery life: This vacuum has longer battery life than all my previous ones, on low, it's rated 60 mins and I usually use medium for my hardwood floor and it can be used around 40min which is super impressive. They also have a pretty display telling you the percentage of the battery life on top which is fairly useful. Great Value for its features: this is by no means a cheap vacuum but with the money you pay for, you get a lot of features. It has HEPA closed filter which is a big plus if you have people in the house with allergies or pets. It has dual rollers with different modes which makes its performance on par with top-tier vacuums, a guided rail for making an easy turn when you vacuum, and different parts that can be detached, washed, and maintained. Overall, if you don't care about super fancy color/design or big brandings like Dyson etc. and you just want a vacuum that gets the job done (so well) and is super versatile backed by great battery life that is going to last than break in a couple of years, this is the vacuum for you. The Shark Cordless Lift-Away vacuum is a pretty unique concept and a great idea, that just isn't quite a home run…yet. Out of the box (like most Shark vacuums–I've owned several) it's very easy to unpack and 'snap together'. It took all of five minutes to get together, and that includes a minute or two to look over the diagrams to make sure I was doing it right. The battery has some charge to it, but Shark recommends charging it fully, and draining it fully on first use before charging it again to get the most out of the battery. I obviously have no idea what kind of life span to expect from the battery, but given it's size and unique-to-this-vacuum design I can't imagine it's cheap to replace. I haven't done any research on this yet, but hopefully Shark has plans for other devices that will use this same battery, otherwise you're looking at a 'lifetime' expense for an already expensive vacuum. Best Buy's 'geek squad' protection includes one battery replacement–probably worth researching the replacement cost and seeing which is cheaper (I'm betting 5-years of geek squad is cheaper than one battery–plus covering everything else for 5 years? Probably worth it!). The vacuum itself is pretty easy to use, though it's a little tricky to 'snap' the body back onto the stick portion of the vacuum. The "led" placement that shows battery life remaining and which power setting you're on could have been placed better–as it is it's awkward since it faces away from where you are holding it, and requires moving it in order to read it. Not sure why they didn't face the back direction–that would have made a lot more sense. The big plus to this vacuum is that it is fairly portable–it's fantastic on stairs, or anyplace that it's harder or awkward to bring a normal, heavy vacuum. The Shark is noticeably lighter than every upright I've ever had to carry, so that is a blessing. They obviously worked very hard to make this light-weight, and they did a great job. It's still a little awkward since the 'body' has to be carried–there just isn't a good way to do this without both hands. The vacuum has three settings. Shark says that the 'normal' (middle) strength is good enough for every day jobs. I have three kids and a black dog that sheds a lot, so I feel pretty sure Shark's idea of 'every day' and mine are a little different. It does do a decent job, but I found myself switching to the high power setting fairly often. This brings me to the biggest drawback of this vacuum. The battery life on the 'high' setting is abysmal. We got maybe 10 minutes out of a fully charged battery trying to clean our stairs–granted, it had been a while since we'd done them so they didn't look great, but 10 minutes wasn't long enough to complete even half of the job. I imagine if we do them on a more regular basis we won't have to use the high setting, but it's a real drawback that when we do it won't be for very long. The 'normal' setting can get a little over an hour, so that's a huge difference. Again, it does a decent job, but even switching for a few seconds to high seriously affects the overall time–that hour drops to 30 minutes after using the high setting for 2 minutes. The battery is already far and away the heaviest part of the vacuum, so until some portion of the technology improves that will just be 'how it is'. Overall it's a great concept that's executed fairly well–just keep your old vacuum around for the big jobs, or for when the battery runs out (it takes a few hours to charge back to full). I recommend it due to the light weight and great ease of use, just keep in mind that you'll either want another battery right out of the gate, or you'll have to vacuum in 'spurts' while waiting for the vacuum to charge.SgtRock

Having had multiple shark cordless vacuums in the past, this purchase was easy for me. Replacable batteries (which i can use my older p50 batteries in here), replaceable filters (also have spares from p50) and i even have chargers already. Lets get a bit more into the vacuum. I thought the p 50 had a lot of suction, but this one actually sutprised me. After going over my carpet with the older shark, u immediately followed up with this unit. Both were on high, but wow was i impressed by all the fine dirt this new motor pulled out. Maybe its the power fins , which ill warn you are a lot louder then the older duoclean heads, but they seem to work better and they dont wrap up with hair!! The versatility of this thing is so convenient, the only thing its missing is spots for its attachments. Also, im uncertain why anyone would want the small powered upholstery attachment, you can detach the wand and use it on the brush head directly and this makes stairs a breeze! I will be getting a second unit.JasonK

I had the original IF200 model that the head unit started making a noise like a grinding. I called Shark and they replaced it under warranty with the new model IF80. I was excited as they replaced the whole unit and very quickly. After first use I was disappointed as it left a lot of my dogs hair on the carpet. I thought maybe I missed something in the instructions, so I re-read them, checked the unit in case I missed packing material. Did not miss anything. My housekeeper stated she didn't like the new vacuum because it wasn't cleaning the carpet. I went and grabbed the old units powered floor cleaner and went over the carpet again and that unit picked everything up like before so whatever they did with the powered floor unit is what is bad. I do not normally write reviews but am making an exception. I love this vacuum. It is very cleverly designed to bend to get under furniture, and also fold up for storage. It is not necessary to use a docking station to charge the unit, which I find helpful since I have no wall space for a docking station, and I can charge the battery and store the unit folded up under a counter. I find the unit to be quite light, compared to others I have looked at. Also, you don't need to hold a trigger to get it to go (a poor feature on the Dysons). It comes with 2 batteries so you can be using one and charging the other. One battery is enough to vacuum most of my house. It is easy to empty the dirt cup.. I find it has good suction, and the "carpets" function is particularly effective. All over I am very happy.Princess Nasturtium

I've had this vacuum for about a month now, and I love it. I currently reside in about a 700 square foot apartment with carpet in the bedroom and walk-in closet and hard surfaces everywhere else. I can do a full, slow, methodical vacuuming of the whole apartment 3 times on 1 battery (not using the ion mode). The different brush speeds work great for switching between hard floor and carpet. I find myself vacuuming at every chance I get just due to the convenience of this unit. The included accessories such as the crevice tool and detail kit make vacuuming anything a breeze. The flex makes vacuuming under coffee tables, chairs, and beds simple. The only minor complaint would be that the dust bin is small, and dust seems to stick to it to the point where you need to reach in and pull it out to empty. That minor concern doesn't really bother me, but it's worth noting. Overall, I would 100% recommend this vacuum.BRIANB

When I told my husband that I was getting the Shark® – IZ862H Stratos™ Clean Sense IQ, Cordless MultiFLEX® Vacuum with DuoClean® PowerFins™, HairPro™, Clean Sense IQ, and Odor Neutralizer Technology, he said, “What? Another vacuum cleaner?” We do have several vacuum cleaners. I told him that this was different. This was going to be our first full-sized, cordless vacuum that could double as a handheld with attachments, and had a HEPA filter. We love our little cordless handhelds, which are great for quick clean-ups. But we end up using them for much more than they were meant to do, like vacuuming the whole kitchen floor. It is kind of stupid to be bending over and sweeping back and forth with a little handheld, just because you don’t want to drag out the clunky, corded, ‘big’ vacuum cleaner (even though it does a much better job). So, when the Stratos arrived, I couldn’t wait to get it out of the box and plug in the charger to charge the vacuum’s large lithium battery. I assumed (correctly) that the battery takes a few hours to fully charge, so in the meantime, I got out the Quick Start Guide and laid out the components, which consist of the Handheld Vacuum, the Removeable Lithium Battery, the MultiFLEX Wand, the DuoClean PowerFins Floor Nozzle, and the accessories, which consist of the Li-ion Charger, the Odor Neutralizer Technology Cartridge, a Duster Crevice Tool and a Multi-Angle Dusting Brush. I immediately plugged the charger into the battery and plugged the charger into a wall outlet. The Quick Start Guide is very brief, so I scanned the QR code at the top of the Quick Start Guide page to get the URL (web address) where the full Owner’s Guide is located and downloaded it. I then proceeded to setup the unit by inserting the Wand securely into the Floor Nozzle and then inserted the Handheld Vacuum into the top of the Wand, ensuring a tight fit. As per instructions, I removed the Odor Neutralizer Cartridge from its packaging, flipped up its dial handle and aligned the teal-colored arrow on cartridge with the matching teal arrow on the Floor Nozzle and inserted it into the receptacle and rotated until it clicked and engaged. You can rotate the cartridge to change the intensity of the fragrance. Put together, the unit is very sleek, attractive and thoughtfully designed. The parts fit extremely well. The overall weight of the assembled unit is easily managed. Finally, the battery was fully charged. I clicked it into its receptacle on the back of the Handheld Vacuum and excitedly pressed the power button. The Stratos started, sounding powerful, but not too loud. There are three settings, which you can change with the ‘propeller” button at the top of the unit – ECO, Clean Sense IQ, and Boost. It defaults to Clean Sense IQ and that is the setting on which I left it. I started in our combination Living Room / Dining Room. The Stratos did a great job on our carpet. The Clean Sense IQ function worked well, adding more power when ‘heavy’ dirt was encountered, which you can see visually on the display on the top of the DuoClean Floor nozzle. I was so pleased to find that with the low profile of the DuoClean Floor Nozzle and the flexibility of the MultiFLEX Wand, I was easily able to get under the low opening of our couch and all the way to the back. Also, I didn’t have to move all the furniture at the dining room table, because I had no problem vacuuming under the the low bars of our dining room chairs, saving me much heavy work. The swivel of the DuoClean floor nozzle also allowed me to go around the tight corners of the table’s legs with ease. By the time I was done with that large area, I had only used 10% of total battery power and was at 90%. So then, I did the foyer and the kitchen, which brought it down to 80%. Then I decided to remove the Handheld Vacuum from the unit and inserted the Multi-Angle Dusting Brush for some dusting. This brush attachment is my dream design. It covers a relatively large, flat surface area, but with a narrow, very low profile and very soft brushes. It is perfect for getting under low profile items such as the openings at the base of my table lamps and getting under the TV’s to those previously unreachable areas. The attachment also swivels, so it makes it very easy to get around items that previously had to picked up and moved out of the way. I am in love with this brush! After dusting all the top and bottom shelves of my two end tables and of my sofa table, and dusting my Living Room TV stand, my fireplace mantle, my Dining Room sideboard and table, I proceeded to vacuum the whole outer stringer of my staircase. The battery was still only down to 60%, but by now, the Dust Cup was very full. My husband, who was thrilled that I was so excited about using the Stratos, volunteered to empty the Dust Cup. This is my third Shark vacuum but my first cordless model and I have to say I am just as impressed with this as I was with my previous corded model. The Stratos comes with one battery which had a partial charge out of the box and required charging before my first use. The battery is rated for 60 minutes however, this is measured using as a hand vac in “eco” mode. I found using the brush roll in “Clean Sense IQ” mode which is the default, I averaged about 30-40 minutes of actual run time which was more than enough to clean my home. There is a digital display on the handle that shows the battery level. For the price though, I would have liked to see a second battery. The Stratos has three modes, Eco, Clean Sense IQ and boost. I have to say while it's been effective, the Clean Sense mode is a bit disconcerting as it continuously adjusts the vacuum speed while you are using it. You can see via a light strip on the brush head how much dirt the unit is sensing as you are cleaning. I’ve noticed with frequent use this does level out a bit from the first time I used it to clean with. The Eco mode worked well on my hardwood floors while still easily picking up wafts of dog hair. I really like the two brush roll system Shark has been using for a while now. The Stratos has a self-cleaning system that keeps the brushes from getting clogged with hair and I can say with three shedding dogs, it works great. I also like that you don't get the snow plowing when picking up larger piles of debris, it just pulls it in and sucks it up. The brush head has LED headlights that work well for seeing under furniture which is easily accomplished by the flexible wand. The airflow (suction) of the Stratos is excellent, even in Eco mode – picking up everything. I also like the odor neutralizer feature which is a small scent cartridge on the brush head. You can adjust the strength of the scent and I find that even on the lowest setting it adds a nice amount and isn't overpowering like some deodorizers can be. Like most if not all new vacuum cleaners, the Stratos is bagless. The dust cup is easy to empty – just remove the brush head wand and press the lever to open it. The conical shape of the metal filter inside allows the hair to slide off easily and I didnt have to put my hands in the cup to get it totally empty like my older Shark. There are three reusable filters as well. The Stratos comes with two attachments, a crevice tool with the sliding brush and dusting brush allowing it to be used like a giant dust buster. It works well. Overall I like the Shark Stratos Cordless, I think it stands up to it’s more expensive competition and would recommend it.RonH

The new Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum with Clean Sense IQ debuts, and comparing it to another Shark stick vacuum, this model does it all. From the "air freshener," you can install on the head of the vacuum to the dust container, the vacuum features the same attachable cleaning heads but with a new feature that is a game changer. The new feature is the option to unlock the "under furniture" mode, where the vacuum bends and glides underneath beds, dressers, you name it; to vacuum those hard-to-reach places (without having to get on the floor). Pros: Motor Modes "Under-Furniture" Feature Brighter LED headlight Room Refreshing Pod Ease of Use Cons: Charging indicator Cleansense IQ Knowing that Shark continued their successful self-cleaning brush roll stick vacuum heads that did not get tangled with hair was a breath of fresh air. With the three dogs I have in my home with long hair (that seemingly falls out everywhere), the Shark Stratos' self-cleaning brush roll was able to vacuum everything on the lowest motor mode without hair tangling (or getting caught). However, if you are unsatisfied with the power the Shark consumes, you can turn down the motor to conserve battery and vacuum longer in "eco" mode. Though, when I used eco mode, I had to go over several spots again due to the suction not being as powerful. Yes, I received a longer charge (roughly forty minutes), but I had to vacuum the same spots often due to fine dog hair still on the floor. There is a "high" power mode that vacuumed dust and debris off of my floor (you could see dust being removed,) but the battery drained in twenty minutes of use. The best and most consistent mode I found was using the vacuum as its intended mode when you first turn it on. Speaking of turning the vacuum on, the Shark Stratos displays an LED battery life indicator right on the base of the vacuum. The battery life indicator made it easier for me to see how much power I had left compared to previous models. Additionally, the much brighter (than previous models) LED head illuminates the floors to reveal more debris, hair, and dust that I could not see well before. One of the strongest features is the new MultiFlex wand technology, which allows you to bend the wand at a 90-degree angle and vacuum underneath furniture. The ease of pressing the "lock" button on the vacuum wand and bending the vacuum made the transition from upright to floor easier. While turning on the highest motor mode, I saw dust lift off the floor, and I placed the vacuum underneath a dresser and bed without having to get down on the floor. Also, when you finish vacuuming under your furniture, you snap the vacuum back into place to continue vacuuming at an upright angle. The Shark Stratos includes two detachable heads to vacuum in hard-to-reach corners as well as surfaces. These are the same heads on previous Shark models, but with the motor control (on the highest setting), I collected more dust on surfaces such as furniture and entertainment furniture (such as speakers). Shark continued to provide an easy trap door to empty contaminant containers (after you vacuum), and the new "pod" room refreshing technology made it easier to exchange used filters. Previously, refresher filters were specifically installed inside the vacuum base. However, the new pod twists to lock or unlock, thus making it easier to exchange used room refresher filters. With all the features, including the new LED battery-life indicator, the vacuum does not utilize that display to show you what percentage of the charged battery when plugged in for charging. However, ambient light on the side of the vacuum flashes to indicate the vacuum is charging. What Shark should have done was utilize the LED display to show you what percentage the vacuum is at (charging-wise). The new Clean Sense IQ technology on the Shark Stratos is novel on paper. Yet, I saw it fail on the hardwood floors of my home. The light indicator on the head of the vacuum will increase sensitivity and suction when it detects a lot of debris on the floor. However, when I vacuumed back and forth in the sensitive spot on my floors, the IQ sensor would turn off immediately. The point of the IQ sensor is to increase power and notice when it detects debris, but I found that sensor to activate when nothing was present on the floor. Although not a deal breaker for the Shark Stratos stick vacuum, the technology idea of sensing dirtier floors and visually telling you when the floor area is clean (with the light indicator) misses it for me when it turns on and off at-will. Overall, the Shark Stratos Cordless IQ Sensing technology vacuum is a new, improved, and added technology. The flexible wand allowing you to vacuum under furniture saves you from having to crawl on the floor. Additionally, the Shark Stratos offers powerful suction in various modes per the user, with an (although fussy) IQ sensing technology to tell you when your floor is clean. Was happy to receive the Shark WV410 Wandvac Power Pet Cordless Hand vacuum as I had areas that I knew it would come in real handy for. It weighs just about 1.5 pounds so was easy on my arm and hand. Upon opening the box it was very simple to put together – basically all in just a couple of minutes. Included is a charging dock, handheld vacuum wand, onboard accessory storage attachment (which you need to slip on the back of wand for stability), a duster crevice tool and a pet tool. The 2 attachments simply sit in their proper places on the storage attachment and it's set up, ready to go. I ran the power cord through the bottom as there is a groove that keeps it in place. I then plugged it in and charged about 4 hours. You can leave this vacuum plugged in continuously so its always charged and ready to use without harming the battery life. There is a round white power button on the wand in front that slowly blinks until its fully charged then turns solid. The on and off switch button is on the handle and a Boost button below that for the Deep Clean mode. When using the Deep Clean mode I found the battery remained charged about 14 minutes, so for longer usage I found the normal Eco mode works perfectly with plenty of adequate suction and has about 1/2 hour run time. I used this to actually dust my house – on tables and other pieces of furniture, picture frames, etc. Especially worked wonders on my carpeted basement steps! No more dragging my heavy corded vacuum around to accomplish that task! It picked up crumbs and other little items of dry cat food without a hitch. You can see when the dust cup is full and ready to be emptied. So after use you will need to empty the dust cup by depressing a yellow switch and holding it over a trash can. I suggest wiping out the cup with a dry cloth to help keep it cleaner inside. When the included filter needs cleaning you have to remove the dust cup and pinching both sides of filter you pivot upward to access it. Place over a trash can and there is a metal ring on top of the filter to help remove from the housing. Just tap it lightly to remove dirt and rinse with water only. Be sure to let the filter air-dry for at least 24 hours or completely dry before reinstalling. I have had no blockage issues whatsoever with mine but if you do notice a noise change while vacuuming check for blockages or objects that might be caught in the vacuum. There are instructions in the owner's manual for this. The manual also has an excellent Troubleshooting section which is most helpful if you need it. Shark made this vacuum so easy to use and future fix so keep that manual just in case! There are other available accessories you can purchase. However for this particular model it seems to be just the wide upholstery tool and a replacement battery. The tools that came with mine are sufficient and overall I am very pleased with its performance. It's not the quietest hand vacuum around but it sure does a great job of picking up things I need it to. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this very useful small household vacuum and love the fact its cordless. The Sharp Wandvac WV410 is the 2nd iteration of the portable handheld vacuum that has been quite popular. This new version has a lot of improvements over the older one and makes it a more versatile compact unit. The first thing I noticed when I got this vacuum is how light, small, and consequently ergonomic the design is. Like all shark vacuums, the build quality is superb even though the whole unit is made with plastic. The material is sturdy and seemed to withstand the regular rough handling when trying to vacuum some weird crevice. I never felt it’ll get damaged, which is not the case with a lot of these handheld vacuums. The unit comes with 2 attachments, however there’s no powered attachment. A charging base, which also acts like an attachment holder, is included and importantly has a small footprint. This helped me to set it up in a convenient location, and made sure the unit is getting charged after stow. Another good feature which I found quite significant is the use of detachable battery. Thus if the battery fails after it’s charge cycle has been used up, I don’t need to throw away the vacuum. Also if I need to use it more frequently, I can get a second battery (and charger) to swap on the job. I really love this feature. In terms of performance, I never thought this will replace my larger, corded units – you can only do so much with a small cordless unit – but I’m definitely impressed. Being a pet owner, I am constantly cleaning up dog hair and scattered food stuff all over the house, and for that purpose this has been working perfectly. The unit storage for dust and debri is small due to the form factor, but the hinge design for dumping these made it a breeze, and moreover it’s almost a no-touch solution. Thus, it’s quite easy to clean which again is something I miss in some of my other handheld vacuums. The vacuum is not the noisient out there, and the suction power is not extraordinary, but for the size and useability they are more than adequate. Overall I’m quite impressed what Shark is delivering with the WV401 and I’m using it practically everyday. Without going overboard with features and design, the Wandvac provides provides the one thing I look for in a handheld vacuum – ease of use. There is a simplicity to this little vacuum that I really appreciate. It has two buttons, one for power, and the other a toggle for boost mode. Last it has a latch for unlocking the dust trap on the underside to dump out the contents it picked up. There are two included attachments, one for a wider area with a brush at the end, and the other is an extension of the end of the vacuum with a flip up brush at its tip. The two extra parts have little mounting points on the charging station that the handheld drops into for storage and charging, and once you find a suitable place for it all it is very compact and unassuming. The vacuum itself is shockingly lightweight yet very powerful for its size. It is well balanced making it easy to hold and maneuver into tight spaces. That is the strong point for it is tight spaces like in your car or corners of stairs or furniture. Being so small it does not have much room to store the debris so you either must plan on emptying it often or using it sparingly for the small areas a larger vacuum could not easily get to. I have been able to get it around and under the seats of my vehicles and use it regularly for cleaning up the nooks of my stairs where my dogs leave hair all the time. It is so easy to grab off the dock and get to work that it makes me feel more inclined to do so for even the smallest and quickest messes. I store it right next to my larger stick vacuum so it’s easy for me to get to and keeps everything of similar jobs in the same place. Battery life is great I typically have to empty the reservoir many times long before being at risk of running out of battery life. And when I am done just drop it back onto the dock so it's always ready to go. With the wide head attachment, it works great for clearing couches and other furniture of dog hair, and the smaller attachment gets into the small spaces like my stairs. It is also very quiet especially considering its suction power. I am very impressed with how well it works and how easy it is to use. For pet owners who need to get hair and dust out of all their corners or anyone who wants to be able to clean small spaces quickly and easily this is a must have and I highly recommend it.Josh

I've had the Shark IZ682H cordless vacuum for six months now and it more than meets my expectations. I purchased one of the original Shark cordless vacs about 5 years ago. I liked it very much, but the battery run time was no where near the nominal when using power attachments and at higher power settings. This new model more than doubles the run time, makes half the noise and, most of all, hair does not tangle up on the brush roll!!! It also seems to be more powerful at a lower power setting. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is it only came with three basic attachments when my older one come with about six including a mini power head. I purchased it on Amazon because they had this IZ682 model that comes with 2 batteries and the dual charger. Having the second battery is a great feature! Strangely, the IZ682 isn't available through the Shark site. But other than it having fewer standard attachments, this is an excellent machine.mbru1701

Since I have very high ceilings, it's hard to get to some of the taller areas for dusting. The dusting attachment also helps to get debris and not irritate my allergies. Firstly, hats off to Shark for **zero plastic** in their packaging materials. OK so there was a tiny screen protector, but everything else was sustainable / recyclable – no styrofoam, no plastic tape, nothing. Other manufacturers take note! As for the vacuum itself, well so far I couldn't be happier. It's quieter than I expected and very easy on the hand (no trigger to hold down unlike our old D***n). I'm glad I bought an extra battery – I could probably just about finish the entire house (about 3000sq ft) on one charge, but it's good to have a spare. My only criticism is that the hinge in the middle is a bit wobbly, but this doesn't seem to impact its performance. I'm hopeful that it will hold up to the rigors of regular use – my vacuum cleaners have a tendency to self-destruct after a few years (including the aforementioned plus a very expensive German-made model). Meanwhile everyone's happy, not least because we're not tethered to the wall any more and we're not spending $$$ on bags.chris

I have been using this product for two months now, and now I really like this vacuum and it’s uses. I like how lightweight the vacuum is, because it is so lightweight I vacuum more – almost every day. Whereas I used to put off vacuuming for about a week because my vacuum was so heavy and cumbersome. My only issue with this vacuum is I wish the head of the vacuum was more sturdy and attached to the floor. Sometimes the head of the vacuum will flip up and it takes a second for the vacuum to start suctioning again. Or when the vacuum hits a rug corner and gets stuck on it, you have to restart the vacuum as the light will go from green to red. Otherwise I really like the features of this vacuum, for example I like that the head of the vacuum has a light so you can see dust and hair on the ground. I have a Labrador retriever so you can imagine every day I am having to vacuum up my dogs hair and dirt tracked from outside. The vacuum picks up a lot from my floors, I have tile and area rugs, but I do wish it was a little more powerful. I end up using the vacuum on the highest setting every time.Carmen16

The Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum has made clean-up fun and easy in our house. My husband and 10-year-old son have both been vacuuming more than I've ever seen and even took it out to vacuum the back of the car! They make a mess and it gets cleaned up right away! I had just vacuumed our living room a few days before we received the Shark and in a test we went over the carpet and it picked up so much dust and cat hair our old vac left behind. I love that it's easy to take up and down the steps making it super easy for my son to vacuum is own floor. Because it is so portable it also works nice for taking out to the camper. I liked how by removing the head and putting on the attachment tools I can get the corners of my ceiling to remove cobwebs and get into tight spots to clean. Love the power of this vacuum and the two power levels for normal pick up and then the extra boost. This works not only great on our carpets but also on our kitchen linoleum. I also love that I can go around and get the corners with the attachments so easily. Great vacuum for the whole family to use! I could never write enough positive attributes of owning a Shark vacuum. I am so happy they made the cordless vacuum that works just as good, if not better than the corded version. I have owned Shark vacuums for years and this one is my new best friend. I actually went back over a rug that I vacuumed this morning and couldn't believe everything it picked up! It charges in no time, is lightweight, easy to store and actually works. I love the light as you can see on my photos I vacuumed around my cat litter box without turning on the light and it picked everything up. Easy open to dispose of collection and the top detaches from the bottom part so you can use as a hand vacuum with or without attachments. I am strongly considering buying more as gifts for my grown girls birthdays as it makes life so much easier!.Belinda419

We've got a couple large area rugs on otherwise all terrazzo floors. Recently adopted a short double coated Aussie Shepherd Beagle mix that has now begun shedding. This vacuum works great for our situation, the smaller head being easy to maneuver around and under tables and recliners. Intermittent use up to 30min for the rugs does cause the vacuum head to get pretty hot, not where you hold it, but to the exhaust side. Being corded delivers plenty of suction power without the added battery weight of a similarly capable cordless vac. I agree with others that upright storage could have been better executed. I'd suggest Shark include some kind of wall mount to hang it up when not in use. Overall happy with the product, although the price point around $200 on sale with coupon still seems a bit high in my opinion.Kent

1 person, 1 cat household. The vacuum has good suction BUT the cat hair gets stuck around a small metal peice and doesn't make it to the bin. If you have more than 1 pet – this is NOT the best unit. 1 room = empyting the bin and removing the hair from around the metal piece. It also cannot stand alone which is highly annoying. I don't want to take the motor off and attach it to the stick so that it will be self standing. DUMB design. It gets HOTTER than a Texas summer day very quickly. You cannot find the accessories listed in the maintaince booklet online. I guess they don't exist. You can find replacement filers. This vacuum is best as a quick, pick-me up unit — not your only vacuum.Zaney

This is more of an electric broom than a vacuum cleaner. It does a great job getting under furniture and cleans well on both carpet and bare floor. I have 2 dogs so I was trying to get to hard to reach areas. It does that well with the attachments included but I wish it had a brush. However, it’s made for small areas because it needs to be emptied often (easily) because it’s quite small. It also overheated after about 30 minutes of what I guess was too much work for it. Waiting an hour to turn it back on is a bummer. It’s a bit awkward to use as the handheld part at the top is heavy. As a result it won’t stand up on it’s own. You have to lay it down. It has it’s uses but doesn’t replace my old Shark. It’s much smaller and not much lighter.Mary

I have a cleaning business and myself and my employees have always used Shark vacuums as I believe they are the best and the prices are always great. A couple months ago while on vacation to visit my baby grandson I bought a Shark Vertex Ultralight Duo Clean PowerFins corded stick vacuum with self cleaning brushroll. I have to admit after bringing it home and using it at work I have to say this is the worst Shark vacuum I have ever had and I've had quite a few as I use them everyday for work. First of all, it's almost too powerful and feels like it could take off on its own if you let go…you almost have to pull back a bit on it and that makes it uncomfortable when vacuuming. The next problem I have with it is that it's the loudest Shark vacuum I've ever owned. The debris tank is too small and only sucks debris into the first very small part of the taking, leaving the whole back part empty which then means I have to empty the tank twice as much and when doing places that have animals it's a nightmare…I'm constantly emptying the tank which means more time on the job. The next thing I was very unhappy about was that when you take the bottom vacuum part off to use the wand only, it doesn't have a light like all of the other sharks I've had, so if you are in a closet or trying to vacuum in a darker area you cannot see what you are doing..I don't understand why you left the light off of the wand especially for the price of this vacuum. I thought for sure I was going a step up from the Shark that I had before, but the Vertex was actually a step or two down. I clean the filter regularly but I noticed that it sucks through the edges of the compartment that it's in, making the vacuum even louder than it already is. And the last thing is that it gets hot really quick…so hot that it makes me nervous so I usually shut it off for a few mins. I am just overall super disappointed in this vacuum and I'm not even able to return it as I bought it at the Walmart in Nevada and there is no Walmart where I live in California, plus I had to throw the box away because I had no room in my car to bring it home with me. So I am stuck with this horrible vacuum until it dies (hopefully sooner than later) and I have to get a new one. I think I'm going to get ahold of Shark and see if they will do anything for me since I have been a great customer for many many years and use their vacuums for work AND home.Mica

This vacuum is nice but has its pros and cons. First it is so convenient. You just grab it and you’re off. My kids even fight over it which is a headache in itself but I guess a good problem to have. The maneuverability is amazing and the ability is has to bend and slide under practically any piece of furniture is really beneficial. The two settings are nice to switch from hard floors to carpet. The bright led lights help see crumbs on the floor and rugs. The turbo suck trigger is nice but I almost it was always on. Charging is simple. Plug it right in and there is a clear indicator for battery level and charging. now some cons are that it really doesn’t have the suction power I’m looking for when it comes to carpeting. For a simple glaze over its fine but to really get deep down and clean the carpet fibers I feel like it’s just not cutting it. Cleaning the hardwood is ok even though I do seem to have to go over some things a few times to pick it up. The batter life isn’t great. Especially if you are on carpet mode or turbo suck a lot it’ll die pretty quickly. Another huge bummer for me is that the head is so small. To cover all the square footage on my rugs it takes forever. The beater bar on my canister vacuum is twice as big so it goes by twice as fast. One more thing is that it can get hard to hold and uncomfortable in your hand after extended use. You feel fatigued and like to have to shake of your cramped up hand. Overall I’d say as a second vacuum to have on hand it’s great. Keep it in the pantry for kitchen crumbs and things like that. There are a bunch of ladies in my home. The hair was rolled up and in the trash bin. I was concerned this vacuum would be top heavy and hard for me to use and push but no problem. I like it can be used on carpet and floors as I have both and it also folds so it can go under furnitures like beds and sofas. The head also swivels left and right as I vacuum – awesome. Oh yeah it has light too. It came in pieces but was easy to assemble out of the box and it’s overall very easy to use. The bin is small so depending on how much space or stuff you vacuum you may need to empty it after every use, it’s what I do. It’s rechargeable which is great no wire to fuss with, the only thing is it could run out of power while using. So overall I am happy with this vacuum and recommends it but there is one thing I don’t like and that is it’s kind of loud, but so are most vacuums. I have 2 messy kids and 2 giant dogs that shed extremely bad, so finding a good vacuum is extremely important to keeping my home tidy. Shark is my go-to brand and I already have a vacuum I use from them. I was hoping to find a light weight vacuum that was easier to carry up and down the stairs, as well as travel back and forth to use at my cabin. This Shark Rocket stick vac meets many of the needs I was looking for. It is super light and easy to carry. The roller pivots and manuevers so smoothly easily around furniture, and it also works really well with getting under couches and tables. Another positive is that the noise level on this vacuum is much quieter. I also really like that the controls are right on the handle and the words regarding the power levels are reversed to face the person cleaning. As far as storage goes, this vacuum will not stand upright for storage, and either needs propped up on something or the handle will need removed and placed on the storage hook on the base. This is not a negative for me, because it makes it easier for me to store in a cabinet or closet. A con for me is that it is definitely not as powerful as my current vacuum and the canister is much smaller. I did a quick clean up around my living room only and the canister was already full and needed emptied before I could continue. The power and suction worked the best for me on area rugs and runners but was still quite effective on low pile carpeting. I already recommended this vacuum to my mother, who is getting up there in age, due to how light weight it is and easy to maneuver around. It's definitely worth giving a try and I would recommend it.Emily W

The Shark Rocket Pro DLX Corded Stick Vac Is going to be your go to vac for all your cleaning needs. Coming out of the box it was very easy to put together . The pieces just snap and lock in together in less than a minute. Because it is a stick vac it was very easy to move around than a heavy upright. I started first on my oriental rug in my living room. Once i got the suction level set it did a great job of picking up particles and even unseen deep dirt. It maneuvered around coffee tables easily because it has a swivel head. L.E.D. lights on the power brush base help light the way. There is even one on the top part for when you are doing stairs and other jobs without the base.I went from the carpet straight to the hardwood floor and then to the ceramic tile in the kitchen without having to stop. Just a quick change on the suction lever and it was a go. It made the transition to different flooring types easy and did a great job. I then tried the stairs. the head easily pops off with the push of a button . Then I tried the tools that were included on the stairs. It also did a great job there. Then I put the wand back on it and tried it on getting some of the dust up high in the corners of the ceiling.Disconnecting the top and the wand from the power roller is easy. All you have to do is step on a button on the base and it comes right out and when you're done it snaps right back in . Very easy , quick and convenient . It cleaned any dust bunnies up high easily. Emptying the dirt is easy, just a click of a button opens the contents and dumps into the trash. Storing it is great because the head comes off and locks into the base so it actually doesn't take up that much space or you can use the hook and hang it up. There were two minor things that I didn't care for. One was I thought it was a little loud and secondly since there is no place to store the tools they should at least include a small mesh bag or some type of container to store them all in so they don't get misplaced. In conclusion I found that this vacuum was very versatile , east to use , and did a great job on every task that I put it through and I highly recommend it to anyone.BOBMERCU

This Shark vacuum is wonderful in cleaning my home. The swivel head is so perfect for getting under places so I don't have to move anything for general cleaning needs. I love the lights in the front so that I don't have to turn on lights in bathrooms or closets just to vacuum. I especially like how the switch is on the top where I don't have to bend down to switch between carpets and bare floor. I also am happy about the main part becoming a separate hand held vacuum so I can clean my car easier with the attachments too. The head is smaller than my regular upright and makes it easier to vacuum behind toilets and small places. I ordered two of the Shark Vertex UltraLight DuoClean Power Fins corded Vacuums in September, 2021, one for my use, one for Christmas gift. Mine was put into use right away. After about ten minutes of normal to light use, the motor power decreases drastically, and vacuum won't pick up anything. After several tries, i returned it to QVC for replacement, which I received. The gift machine was used after Christmas, and same thing happens. After a few minutes, power decreases. It was some time before I tried my replacement from QVC only to find the same thing happened. Being in poor health for some time now, I have not had the time to tend to this matter. My return time through QVC has expired, and I am left with two Shark Vertex Vacuums, neither of which will work. I have no idea how to proceed at this time.PatAK

First of all, the cons. It is top-heavy obviously and must be propped against something to stay up when not using it. That is a minimal inconvenience for me. It has a very long cord and the motor kind of gets in the way of wrapping it. I don't like that. I would've preferred a cordless, but that's my fault. It is what it is. The biggest flaw I've found is that it gets hot very quickly. I'm wondering how long it will be before the motor burns up. That said, here are the pros, it's lightweight and basically glides across the floor with no effort. The dust bin is a cinch to empty and it holds a fair amount of debris. It has good suction and reaches hard to get places easily. I dislike the cumbersome cord but will keep it because I need a good handheld vacuum and QVC neglected to include any paperwork or a return label. Thankfully, it was a bargain price. I would've given it 4 stars had it been cordless. I'm not sorry I bought it. It's my first Shark. I always buy Dysons.KSweatman

received this vacuum cleaner and auto emptying dustbin from Samsung for product testing purposes. First impressions, very easy to put together and very lightweight. Liked the touch control pad for controlling the on/off and the amount of power. I wad excited to try this cleaner as I have 7 cats and 2 dogs in a house with 3 adults. That equals a lot of fur and therefore daily hoovering. Whilst I was impressed with how light the vaccum was and how powerful it is for a cordless model the battery life really lets this down. Maybe I had a faulty model but the battery lasted literally 10 minutes from a full charge. In a house with so many animals this barely allowed me to do 2 rooms thoroughly so in order to do the whole house it would be a full day job which obviously isn't feasible in the slightest.Jessi81888

Do NOT buy this vacuum cleaner. If it could be rated 0, that's what it would have got. (Summary: ours broke before we'd owned it for two years, and it can't be repaired. We have a James hoover that we bought over a decade ago and it's still going strong. Buy them instead.) We bought a Jet 90 Pet in September 2020. We did a lot of research into which cordless vaccum to buy, as we wanted to get something that would work well and last a long time. The Jet 90 seemed well-reviewed so we decided to save up for it. It was much more expensive than most of our homecare purchases but we were confident it would last. We'd had it for fewer than two years before the cleaner broke. It had been handled all that time with proper care, as we wanted it to last. Despite that the motor came away from the handle, in a way that seems to me as if it was a case of poor manufacture, or even built-in obsolescence. I contacted Samsung customer support and was informed that I would have to send the cleaner to Manchester for repair, at our expense. (I asked to be called back by a Samsung customer service manager as I wanted to complain about the quality of the item. It was arranged for a call to be made to me. I didn't receive a call when the set time came. I did, however, get a call two days later than arranged, during my work day, when I couldn't answer. This hasn't made me feel more positively inclined towards the company.) I took the cleaner to a local repair shop to see if it could be repaired but we've been informed that the nature of the break – the motor coming away from the handle housing – means that this isn't possible. Bottom line – though I was pleased with it at first I cannot now recommend this product at all, and will not be buying Samsung products again in the future. This was one of the most expensive items we've ever purchased and two years later it's completely useless. (By contrast a James hoover that we bought over a decade ago is still working fine. I bought my Jet 90 over 3 months ago & I find myself using it way more often than my $1000+ canister vac! It has terrific suction (so much more than a prior stick vac 8) especially for dog hair on a Berber carpet. I pretty much need to vacuum everyday (Summer shedding) so using the Jet 90 makes it so easy. The floor attachment does well but for larger bits of junk you have to lift the brush head up a bit to suck it up or it just gets moved in front of the brush. The battery lasts 40-45 minutes on the 2nd suction setting. I do have a spare battery (all of the batteries charge quickly to me), which has been indispensable. Using the Low suction setting allows me to vac throw rugs, bath rugs, any "moveable" type of rug which I couldn't do with prior stick vacs. I love all of the attachments but wish they could all be attached to the charging stand. The brush heads swivel nicely too which makes it easy to get under low furniture to vac. The extension tube is adjustable which is needed since some are short & others in the house are taller, allowing "comfortable" vacuuming. The battery & collection canister are balanced out with the hose & brush heads so you don't feel like you are holding a 2-ton weight at the end of the vac & get hand fatigue. I did a lot of research before buying & feel that this is a TOP NOTCH stick vac. You'll love the Jet 90 for carpeted stairs too (use the Mini Motorized Tool). Thoroughly cleans them, even getting in the crevices. Believe it or not, I have always loved to vacuum but lost interest when I got the pricey canister. The Jet 90 has made vacuuming enjoyable again. Go ahead & test out other brands but you'll find yourself wanting to use the Jet 90 every single time over any other stick vacuum. I definitely recommend the Jet 90. Consider buying the Samsung Clean Station to go with this Jet 90 (but that's for another review)!ResearchFirst

Purchased this vacuum as I appreciate the convenience of a cordless vac and only have my upper level and stairs that are carpeted. I am extremely happy with the performance. Both my Daughter and I have long hair and the self cleaning roller brush is amazing. Picks up everything from my hardwood floors in the first pass. Battery run time is optimal for what I need and hands down it outperforms my cordless Euphy stick vac. I also have a large dog with short hair and it did a fantastic job picking up hair that I couldn’t even see on the floor. Price point was great (bought on sale and Best Buy had the lowest price). Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a great cordless stick vacuum. Would be nice if this had a stand or bracket that I could pop it Into in my pantry, but not a huge deal.Jaemi

Purchased this earlier this year when we got our puppy, and what a life saver! Beat hauling a bigger vacuum out and being limited by electrical outlets, especially with a busy puppy around the house. I saw the reviews about losing suction, but you should be keeping the canister cleaned after each use anyway which is as simple as releasing the bottom into the trash. Any other suction loss is usually due to hair or lint building up in the vacuum head which takes 2 minutes to clear. Works great on floors and carpet, super light to do the stairs and bring up and down the stairs. Charge lasts me about 2-3 days use. No complaints other than it could be “prettier”? Lol. I live in an 800 square foot apartment with hardwood floors and one longhair cat, and I found this vacuum unable to cut it. It comes with a rolling cleaner, a brush attachment and a corner attachment. When packed up to charge, there’s no place to put the brush or corner attachment. The rolling cleaner has two small felt wheels that allow it to roll. On first use, both of the wheels became full of cat hair and locked up. I tried to clean them, but it wasn’t immediately apparent how to do it. Eventually I was able to pry them out, with some slight cosmetic damage to the wheels. I’m used to using a roomba, and don’t mind some light maintenance work to keep a vacuum running well. What’s not acceptable is the difficulty of removing and cleaning those wheels, and that they fully locked up so quickly.Dan

This vacuum is light weight and easy to use EXCEPT the on button is just above the button that opens the dirt container . Every time I vacuum, by accident, I open the dirt container and dirt goes everywhere! Its a mess! This happened to a couple people who tried to help me as well. What a horrible design error!!! Plus the dirt container is very small and needs to be emptied often…unless you vacuum with it open!! I purchased it because my health is failing and I needed something lightweight and easy to use.. Also the main opening in the floor portion totally plugs and the entire bottom piece needs to be taken apart and you need a bottle brush or a something long enough to push the plug of dust or whatever out of the elbow (which you can straighten). Its not difficult, but annoying and messy as well. I would never recommend this vacuum to anyone, its too much work and too much money for the horrible design. I love Shark products. I have been waiting for the TSV and for this vac to be back in stock. I purchased rose gold, blends well with a neutral palate. I still use my original upright Shark vacuum purchased from QVC (10 years) which is a beast at cleaning my tile, wood and carpet floors. I use a robot vac for 1/3 of my floors that are not heavily traveled. The top of the line name brand R- robo vact does a ok job, but it takes a long time and I needed a stick/handheld vac which I could use for small jobs in the kitchen, sunroom and run it over high traffic areas daily. It is quick and picks up well. It has a swivel head and lies down to get back and under furniture. The battery life last and I have never had trouble having is run out. This device is not a replacement for a quality upright vacuum. Nothing is. This vac is for small jobs, daily floor maintenance and I love it. You are able to buy a replacement battery from Shark if needed and I love that too. So many stick vacs end their battery life and you cant easily replace the battery. Not the case here, so this device will last a long time. The hand vac is handy (HaHa) for crevasse's, corners, and I have used the pet tool on my sofa and it does a great job with dog fur. The filter needs to be changed sometimes during a job based on how much stuff it has vacuumed up. I have not cleaned it yet, the manufacturer says to clean the filter monthly. Recommend this vacuum to help maintain clean floors especially in high traffic area and recommend it for any busy household.medicinewoman
