Best Shark Vacuum For Allergies (2025 Update)

First, I will say I really like Shark vacuum cleaners and this one is no exception. The vacuum came well packaged and was easy to open and assemble. The vacuum consists of 3 basic parts the floor nozzle, wand tube and the motor/dust cup. In addition, Shark now has a deodorizing cartridge for this model that you insert into the floor nozzle to keep things smelling fresh. Assembly is easy. Insert the wand into the floor nozzle and then attach the motor/dust cup to the top of the wand. It is recommended to charge the battery fully before using the first time. This process is very easy as the battery is removable and can be charged in or out of the head unit with the included charger. This new shark incorporates Clean Sense IQ which identifies when there is more dirt that needs to be picked up and can adjust the suction of the vacuum and there is a bar readout on the floor nozzle to let you know this is working. It seems to work very well. The floor nozzle uses and unique roller head that is a combination of the soft microfiber roller with rubber fins imbedded into the roller so it works very well on both hardwood floors and carpet and the way the fins are configured virtually eliminates hair tangles. I really like this new roller as I have a lot of hardwood floors. There are also built in LED headlights which is a feature I would never want to do without. The controls are mounted at the top of the unit and consist of the on/off button (you don’t have to hold a trigger) a button that allows you to adjust the suction power between ECO, Clean Sence IQ and boost. There are 2 indicator lights that show the battery level and whether or not the Sense IQ is active. The vacuum comes with 2 attachments that include a brush for cleaning things like furniture and an extendable wand for cleaning along the floor edge or reaching high places. The vacuum is light weight weighing in at a little less than 8 pounds which makes it very maneuverable and easy to handle. It is very well balanced and the head swivels easily and can be laid almost flat for reaching under low furniture and beds. The vacuum does a great job of cleaning both hardwood and carpet and I have been using it in the Sense IQ mode. It has plenty of suction power and picks up great. The dust cup is large and easy to empty. The dust cup is removable and there are two filters inside that Shark recommends you clean on a regular basis by removing them a rinsing under water only (no soap). There is also a HEPA filter in the motor head that can be cleaned. The vacuum comes with a simple 1-page Quick Start Guide that provides enough information for assembling the vacuum and some information on the controls. There is a more complete manual on the Shark website. Battery life varies depending on which suction level you use and whether you are using the floor nozzle or not. These run times seem to vary from about 10 minutes to 45 minutes. I got plenty of battery life to vacuum my house with the floor nozzle without having to re-charge the battery. One new feature on the model is the ability to remove the motor head and with a clip that is positioned low on the wand you can clip the motor head on to the wand and the vacuum will stand upright without having to rest it against a wall. There is no wall mount for this unit so this feature is very convenient. If there was one thing that would be nice to have it would be a second battery but additional batteries are available if you find that you need another one. This is our second Shark vacuum cleaner that we have gotten from Best Buy. Sadly, I had gotten the last one a little too wet and so it was making some god-awful noise. In my haste to find out why I accidentally broke a few pieces that did not need to be broken. So, it was time for a new one. Luckily it was no time when I had the opportunity for us to get this vacuum. I must say that our previous Shark was insanely more powerful…like slinging the rug across the floor power on the self-propelled wheels, but I can't really complain too terribly much because it still picks up everything that we have needed this one too. I just wish it was a tad more powerful in the self-moving wheels and the suction. If you have never had a Shark or I suppose any upright stick vacuums whether it was this one with the cordless functionality or the previous corded Shark that we had, neither of them would sit upright unless you unhooked the vacuum from the stick. Surely this could be counter-balanced by some weights in the base, but I do not want to have to do this myself when I feel it should be done from the factory. If the manufacturer can solve a) the power of the wheels and the power as far as suction, b) extend the battery life just a bit more and c) solve for the not sitting upright unless disassembled I do not think I would ever move away from the upright stick vacuum or the Shark brand ever again! I have done an extended test to test out the fragrance/odor neutralizing piece that they have on offer for this model. I can say it has lasted almost the entire month I am a few days shy, but it is still going) and that is with us having 2 pets and using it every few days in short durations. Will the fragrance pods be a gimmick like the toilet seats by a certain large company are? Or will it be here to stay? I am not sure…sadly I bought one of those toilet seats, but we ended up going with a heated one not long after (amazing if I must say so myself). Anyway, I digress. So, the vacuum and the fragrance of the pod is holding up strong so far for the better part of almost a month. I was pleasantly surprised & we are all super happy with the Shark Cordless Pro Vacuum so far in my house! All in all, though we are extremely happy & are super pleased with our new vacuum. Thank you to Shark for making such a solid vacuum-it just needs a couple minor changes (in my opinion) to go from great to perfect! The Shark Cordless Pro with Clean Sense IQ is an excellent vacuum. The latest in a line of lithium ion rechargeable upright vacuums that harken back to the original Shark vacuum. Shark has had some hallmarks that set it apart, and the Pro includes all of them and a slew of its own features that offer a unique offering. So first of all, unboxing the vacuum is easy enough. Inside the box you’ll find the main unit, charger, battery (preinstalled), main tube and vacuum head, and attachments (pet multi-tool, and crevice). Everything is packaged securely and the unit is basically good to go out of the box (after charging of course). There are a lot of little removable stickers that tell you how to exactly use different features of the vacuum. This is appreciated because Shark has so many unique features. There’s even a handy QR code on the main unit that will take you to the digital manual. This cordless vacuum builds on the construction and ideas of Shark’s previous vacuums. You get a detachable main unit and will hook on the main tube for storage. You have a bagless design with an easy to empty latch. You get a small but maneuverable vacuum head. Of course many of these ideas are evolved, honed, and refined to a large extent. For instance, the dust bin is larger, and the filter conic (compared to previous designs which seemed to get wrapped up in hair/fur more often). The battery packs are similar but different from previous models (at least the previous Duo Clean I had). The vacuum head has a load of sensors, etc. Obviously, this vacuum is attempting to appeal to a Pro-sumer (get it?). Several features of this vacuum I really like that seem to be new and unique to Shark. The first is Clean Sense IQ. This uses an infrared sensor to attempt to detect dust and adjust the power of the vacuum dynamically. It gives an indication of how ‘clean’ the floors are. Another thing unique to the vacuum head is the Odor Neutralizer cartridge, which essentially is an air freshener for your vacuum. It keeps the vacuum smelling nice and the air it spews nice as well. Power of the vacuum is interesting. The Clean Sense IQ means that on that Clean Sense setting that it’s always adjusting power to the required level. The idea here is to save battery when you’re doing maintenance cleaning, and then having the vacuum increase power when needed in dirtier areas. For the most part this does pretty well. There is an IR sensor scanning the dirt coming into the vacuum and adjusting the power. A row of LED lights will illuminate indicating the power level being applied and the idea is that it should abate as the carpet/surface is cleaned more thoroughly giving you a visual indicator if the area is clean. Of course you can override the Clean Sense IQ behavior by selecting ‘Eco’ or Boost mode. These settings change the runtime of the vacuum – which is estimated by Shark at 40 minutes in Eco mode. That’s about accurate, and you’ll get a variable amount with Clean Sense, but I was able to do a quick clean (about 3000 sq ft) on a charge. Of course a thorough cleaning would involve taking some breaks. Recharge takes over an hour, so you’ll want to plan out more through cleanings. The brush element is another interesting feature, having silicon fins and microfiber stuffed pretty much everywhere else. It seems to do a pretty good job picking up most debris I’ve thrown at it. I do seem to have trouble with larger pieces like cereal (thanks kids), but it will pick it up. I appreciate that it’s gentle on surfaces like hardwood. The crevice tool has a soft bristle brush that slides out to the edge, great for cleaning corners without leaving marks on the pain. It limits the crevice tool slightly due to it sliding back only about 6” but it shouldn’t be an issue but for those with deep cushioned couches. The pet multi tool is really just a flat brush with a removable soft bristle brush. It works pretty well on my microfiber couches without the bristle attachment. The Order Neutralizer is an interesting feature and I can’t say I've noticed a huge difference (but I have been congested, so subjectively I might be missing it). Cartridges are $15 for 2, and you only get one in the box. I appreciate the idea, but I don’t know how often I’ll be replacing it. Another great feature of this vacuum for those with allergies is the built in HEPA filter. This was hard to find, but luckily companies like Shark have listened to the market and brought .3 micron filters to the masses. The HEPA filter is important to those that suffer from dust, dander, or pollen allergies. Vacuums can exacerbate environmental allergens by picking them up and spewing them out at high speed in the air. Having an appropriate filter to capture these microscopic particles is essential. Also, the filter is washable, which is a huge convenience. Maintenance is pretty simple. After hearing about these small robot vacuums on the market and how well they work, I knew I wouldn't want just any model and so I forgot about them after awhile. Well, here comes Shark and with this vac mop, in my opinion, they really hit the nail on the head with this new technology. Set up was so easy. After it fully charged, I opened the SharkClean app and it walked me through the easy process of setting up my robot vac mop from connecting to my internet to mapping my home and then cleaning. The app even walks you through the process of setting up zones like carpeted areas. As the unit was mapping my home I read the entire manual and was impressed that the robot has what is called object detection technology and will navigate around obstacles. Sure enough, when it approached the four legged coffee table in my living room, it gracefully circled around each leg when it was cleaning row by row. After the first vacuuming, I emptied the dust bin and was amazed at how much it collected. To the naked eye, my home didn't look like it really needed much of a vacuuming, so this was an eye opening experience. I decided to wait and use the vac mop function on my wooden kitchen floor later in the day after dinner and it worked wonderfully. When cooking, my husband accidentally dropped a piece of flesh from a serrano chili and we purposely left it on the floor to see if the vac mop would be successful in picking it up and it was! I emptied the dust bin and found the small piece of chili among the many crumbs my boys are responsible for. Every few days, or when I remember, I gently wipe around the entire unit and it's base and find very few long hairs wrapped around the roller of the vacuum. I expected this, as I have very long hair and I know nothing is ever as perfect as it claims to be. Nonetheless, in my opinion, it's a very well made household necessity and I'm so very blessed to have it helping me around my home giving me more time to focus on my family. The Shark AI Robot VacMop isn’t our first robot vacuum nor robot mop, but is the first device we’ve owned that does both these operations simultaneously. I like that it is a little bit smarter than the robot vacuum we’ve been using because it supports room mapping and has laser-guided vision in addition to drop sensors and physical bumper sensors. I’ve noticed that these in combination makes it less likely to ‘bump and redirect’ than our other robots, protecting our walls and furniture from nicks and scratches and things from being knocked over. The initial setup was a mixed-bag experience. If you want to unlock all the features of the robot, you must use the accompanying smart phone app, SharkClean. This allows you to access features like scheduled cleanings, view and edit the rooms mapping, and adjusting the settings on the vacuum like eco/max suction modes. Without the app, you can still use the robot and initiate a simple cleaning cycle by pressing the 'clean' button on the unit. The main complaint I have about the app is that it requires an internet connection, and won't work if the robot and smartphone are connected to the same WiFi router without Internet access. That makes this robot impossible to use with the app if your Internet service goes down, in areas of the house without a WiFi signal, or if you don’t want the device to be online. After creating an online account and adding the robot to it, it needs to go through a couple of exploration cycles. The first maps the room and the second detects carpets and rugs for creating ‘no-go’ areas when mopping. Depending on the size and complexity of your room layout this mapping may or may not be very accurate. For example, in my home we have a fairly high transition between the dining room and the kitchen which the robot was unable to traverse. Indeed, it got stuck on the transition and was spinning its wheels for several minutes before it dislodged itself. This resulted in a map with a distorted the layout of the rooms since it continued to ‘map’ its path despite remaining in one spot. It fared much better when we physically blocked its path to areas where it could not, or we did not want it to, go. You can optionally use adhesive magnetic BotBoundary strips (sold separately) placed on your floors to create a ‘virtual wall’ that it will not cross. The robot was not able to travel our high-nap carpeted hallway, getting stuck within the first few feet and simply turning around, therefore I do not recommend it for carpeted floors. It performed best in square, enclosed rooms with few obstacles and hard flooring; the instructions are clear that you should remove objects and wires that may block its path or get stuck on prior to mapping. The map editing feature in the app was disappointingly frustrating to use to modify incorrect mappings and add missing areas, often resulting in the error ‘one of rooms will not be added to your map.’ We found it easier to simply delete the map and start the exploration cycle over; note that syncing updates to the map with the robot, including deleting the map, is surprisingly slow. Also, the robot can only store one map at a time, making it impossible to pick up and move the robot/base to another floor of the house, or even a room that’s separate from the existing map, without remapping the new area from scratch each time. Software user-friendliness aside, the actual vacuuming and mopping performance is very good, though a bit loud when running. The robot picks up a lot of dust, hair, and debris. However, the dust bin is a bit messy to empty out, oftentimes dropping a bit of its contents when detached from the main body of the robot, and fine dust clings to it readily. Though, it is completely washable in the sink under running water, including the removable dust filter tray. When mopping, coverage was about 95% efficient. Areas where we found the mop pad didn’t touch were along the perimeter of the rooms, 1 to 3 inches out from the walls and all around the dock base plate.Jrt0327

Confused, but has spirit is the best way to describe the little fellow. He's also a pain in the butt to rescue sometimes… Most times. The laser guidance and thoroughness is impressive. I have a large home with little foot traffic and it manages to sweep up a lot of dust everyday when I empty him out. It surprises me how much there is that I can't see, but it definitely makes it easier to not do it myself. He's gotten stuck a lot by accidentally closing the doors when he's in the closet or bathroom and the app is finicky with finding him. When the app does work, it reduces the 30 minute hunt… And that's if he has enough battery life to cry out for help when I ping him. It can be frustrating when he catches and drags cords or other loose or hanging items like scarves, but I would say the obstacle avoidance isn't that bad. The mopping feature is mediocre, as it just lightly mops, making me feel like I could do a better job manually. There's a lot of room for improvement, but if you chose to start with this robot for a trial period, you learn what you want over time. The house has been more lively with his antics, so I do overlook those frustrations a lot, but sadly he's not worth the price, so I will be returning him soon.Gambare

I received this vacuum for Christmas, and have been using it daily for about three months now. I really wanted to love this vacuum, but I don't. The main issue I have is with the self-cleaning brushroll: Sure it doesn't tangle, but that would require it to actually pick up fur in the first place. This vacuum adamantly refuses to pick up any fur that isn't just sitting loose on the surface of the rug…which is deeply unhelpful. The roll just wipes fur along, without doing anything to agitate the carpet. I have used the entire battery life of this vacuum on my single living room area rug, just to still need to use my rubber broom. For a vacuum that costs >$300, this is extremely disappointing, and considering the vacuum is called the "pet pro," I truly don't understand why this vacuum simply cannot handle fur in any regard. My second problem with this vacuum is that it leaks dust from every single joint and seam the entire time I'm using it. Who wants to be covered in dust from vacuuming? Not I. Additionally, the wand itself clogs constantly in a way that's very difficult to clean out. In fact, most of this vacuum is difficult to clean, outside of changing the filters. I have two cats and a lab mix who sheds like it's his mission on earth, and frankly, this vacuum just does not cut it.LindseyJoy

I've never made a purchase that I've been more disappointed in. The vacuum worked fine the first couple of times now every time is vacuum my house I have to unclog the machine from the many many many potential clog spots. I never once had this problem with our previous dyson vacuum. I have a golden retriever, so yes, having to maybe unload the vacuum is to be expected however for a product that supposedly specializes in pets, it does a TERRIBLE job. I've had to take apart the base of the bottom when that gets clogged, the shaft of the vacuum comes apart and now hair seems to get clogged making the base of the vacuum essentially worthless. I am so so so bummed and wish I would have returned this while I had the chance. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT A PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY PICKS UP DOG HAIR.Megan

I absolutely love that it is cordless. I loved the black friday price… i think it was $159 or $179 something like that . WAY under the price for a dyson. I absolutely love it. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat all whom shed ALOT. I use this vacuum daily, several times a day and have not had any issue with the battery. Keep in mind i mentioned having a little zoo of animals, so the first month i had to take the machine apart to be able to remove clogged hair on the long stick. The instructions dont really tell you how to clean it. There is more than just emptying the basket. To avoid it getting clogged, i now try to blow out all the hair in the tubes Atleast once a week. Only negative i would mention is I wish it was a bit stronger and wish it gave an option on height. For example if there is a leaf on the floor it will not suck it in becase the vacuum in not high off the ground to pick it up. I believe the dyson is a tad stronger but its not worth paying $400, when i can just use this one for under $200. I do not regret purchasing this at all. My house feels cleaner and its super easy to use.If you find it on special buy it!Kelly

Just bought this yesterday and I can say for the time being I am impressed with how it made my carpets look. I have been using a Dyson that I bought 19 years ago and while it is true that the suction has never waivered, it can no longer get things out of the carpet as easily as it once did. It would often just spit the things behind and would take several rolls over it to actually pick it up. However when I would use just the hose, it still worked great. So here are the noticeable differences between my old Dyson and my new Shark: Pros: I love the light on the front of it so that you can really see what you are vacuuming up. Currently the suction is great and I could feel it really pulling at the carpets to get stuff up. It switches easily from carpet to hardwood floors and does great on both. My cats scatter litter all over my stone floor and it didn't hesitate to pick that up. When I did change to non carpet, I did notice that it is almost impossible to push on carpet anymore. The tiny head of the vacuum can get between a lot of things and can slide under things to a certain extent even getting under my coffee table who's lower section is only about 2 inches off the ground. Cons: It is a bit unwieldy when vacuuming carpet and I definitely felt sometimes like I had to fight it for control because it's easy swivel nature made it want to go it's own way. For someone who has had a standard push vacuum for years, this will just take some getting used to. But I definitely felt like my arms got a bit more of a workout trying to make it go where I wanted. The cord is shorter than the Dyson so I had to unplug and plug back in in several different places. Which might be a good thing because the unit was getting pretty hot. I can understand why people wrote that they had issues with items burning out. I am planning to vacuum in short bursts and let the machine cool down rather than vacuum my entire place at once. It also got a little unhappy when trying to vacuum area rugs. It doesn't seem to be a big fan of uneven carpet so my giant area rug with slightly raised swirls provided it a couple of hiccups. Overall I am happy with this purchase. Do I feel like it will have the staying power of my Dyson? Not really. But I would recommend at this time. I have 3 cats, 2 Goldens, and a toddler so I vacuum every day. I love how fun our home is but I don't want it to look and smell like we have a ton of pets inside! In a vacuum, I look for quality, performance, and for my carpets to look and FEEL clean. My Dyson Animal Ball 2 was great for a while but even with meticulous maintenance, it bit the dust in 2 years after a slow decline which is the average I keep a vacuum around these days. Note: I am 5' 1'' and 120 lbs; the Dyson was also hard to carry upstairs and push so I was looking for something a bit easier on the body given how often I pull the vacuum out. After doing some research, I landed on the Shark Navigator NV586 to try something new. Pros: Not only is the Shark lighter in weight, but it is easier to navigate and push. I am more impressed with the Shark's performance on hard wood floors and tile (kitty litter doesn't stand a chance) than the Dyson as well. Some reviews thought the Dyson performed better on carpeting, but from my experience, the Shark is doing comparably well, if not better – it leaves clear vacuum lines and I can feel the difference on the carpet. I also appreciate the added features such as the brush roller notification system, the LED lights, the easy detach system for vacuuming stairs and hard-to-reach areas, the comfortable hard floor/carpet switch, and the easily connected attachments. This vacuum makes the chore of vacuuming my stairs significantly easier with less strain on my back and I especially appreciate the upholstery attachment for dining room chairs and couches. The bagless feature is a must in my vacuum and the canister is easy to detach, empty, and keep clean. With pets and a busy household, the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal and HEPA filters are making a positive difference, for sure. The filters are also accessible and easy to clean. Con: The Shark has a shorter cord than the Dyson, so I do have to move it when vacuuming. Also, the base is pretty light so if working with the detachment/wand feature, make sure the base is stabilized otherwise it will tip over. For the price and my needs, so far, I am very pleased with this vacuum. The real test will be to see how it performs after a year!akdogmom

I bought this vacuum to replace a Hoover pet specific vacuum that only last two years before it quick working. Upped my price range in hopes of a better tool – unfortunately every review of every vacuum is either overly negative or kind of okay. Decided to take a chance and this has been great. We've had it for over two months now with two long hair cats and a german shepherd. The suction is amazing, and also adjustable (definitely requires more push on carpet) – many folks complained about trying to use this on throw rugs, TBH I've not found a vacuum that does good with a small, not strongly weaved rug. Someone complained about hot air coming out the front? This has not been an issue, but literally all vacuums push out hot air. The lift away feature is great for stairs (really the only time I use it). There are two modes carpet/hard surface. I was skeptical of the hard surface with no brush roll, but honestly it's great. Overall I am satisfied with the job it does. Cleans way better than our previous vacuum.Emily

I clean for a living and I use all of my own supplies. I have gone through 2 of these vacuums in 4 years. But that's not bad because I use a vacuum for 2-3 homes a day 5 days a week! It's so lightweight which is perfect for transporting and has amazing suction. I rarely ever use brooms because with the front roller it cleans hard floors better and faster than a broom does. I clean my vacuum after each home but with the self cleaning roller it's rare that I have to clean it. The front roller can get animal hair caught in it but all you do is pop it out quick and clean it out it takes 30 seconds it's no big deal. Buy extra filters because keeping your filters clean is key to making your vacuum last longer and keeping the suction at it's strongest. I have to wash filters so much I cheat and put them in a pillowcase and run them through the washer with no detergent or anything. Back to the self cleaning roller, I read a few reviews saying they arnt self cleaning. Yes they are. Compared to the ones without the self cleaning fin things on them this is a game changer! The functionality of this vacuum is great I can use it everywhere. And the lights on it are awesome especially with showing dirt on hardwood floors I can really see what I've cleaned and where I need to get. I highly recommend this vacuum especially for people who can't handle a heavy vacuum. Several of my elderly customers have bought one for themselves after seeing mine because it's much easier for them to use. The only thing I dislike is it doesn't stand up on it's own unless you disconnect the top section and place it on the bottom where it hooks in to store it. You can store it that way or it comes with a wall mount that you screw into the wall so you can hang the vacuum on it. The thing that sucks about it not standing on its own is if you stop vacuuming for a minute to move something or do something you need to lean the vacuum on something or lay it down. Omg, Shark should be ashamed of themselves. When l first got it, tried to set it up and found out the vaccum head is too heavy, so it dropped to the floor. Self cleaning?? Really? Maybe they meant "yourself" would be cleaning it as it just rolls the hair around the brush. And yes, "your-self" will be constantly cleaning it, especially if you have pets. I looked for this vacuum for quite a while. I have a large house with in-house vacuum but wanted a vacuum I could easily pull out for quick clean up. I wanted a corded one because I have not heard great things about the cordless ones. My cleaning lady recommended Shark, and considering the way my floors look after she has been here, I went with it. I have been very impressed so far. I used it right away on carpet, travertine and to reach way up to some air conditioning vents. The carpet looked like I had vacuumed with a regular power head vacuum. I love the swivel head and lights!! Easy to use. My only issue, but a minor one, is the weight of the top which means it cannot stand up like a regular floor model vacuum.Annette

Top heavy, does not stand on own but must be leaned onto something to stay upright. And when you finish using on floor or up on wall/ceiling, TONS of debris falls out the bottom of the unit. I have to go get my perfectly wonderful Miele to clean up the mess this thing makes. Keeping the area in the head clean is the key to avoid this, but have to do it so often (every use) it makes cleaning up a bigger chore overall. I bought this to avoid bringing the larger Miele upstairs to use weekly for a couple rooms and thought using as a wand up in the air would be useful as I no longer feel secure standing on a chair/stool to reach upper areas. While it works to pick up dust and dirt ok, it will not pick up paperclips, small wood pellets, scraps of paper or even small amount of shredded paper after emptying the shredder into the trash. And if it manages to pick this up, it will require you to stop and clean out the head piece (remove rollers) before moving on or it will 'spit it out' again when you turn it off. Then you can pick it all up with your hands along with the other debris and dirt or go get a real vacuum and clean it up right. I will never buy a shark again.Miele is best

We have had this about 6 months Initially it was great but slowly it has lost suction and now needs replacing as it’s just not up to the job. Filter box hard to clean Most annoying thing is going from say the floorboards to the carpet or vice versa. The head leaves a collection of dust on the edge of the 2 surfaces Slowly your mats build up a line of dirt around the edges which becomes compacted. The rotating head that was initially great is also difficult to clean and the fine teeth become totally clogged and useless. It takes as long to clean this thing as it does to vacuum the floor. If it was stolen would I buy another ? NO, I normally use the old vacuum in the shed but this one’s going in the wheels binGeorge 27

It's suction power lifts years of dirt embedded in the carpets of my new rental. The head swivels with ease and allows you to reach hard to get to places, excellent for corners. The right side of the head has an edge cleaner that you can run really close to the walls. Lightweight and easy and to use, the dirt canister is easy to empty and every part of the appliance clicks into place. I've been totally satisfied and a great fan of the Shark 'Rocket' for 4 years. izmax

The Shark. AIROBOT ROBOT VACUUM 2000 SERIES came well packaged yet easy to unpackage and set up. Following the Quick Start Guide I Set up the docking station and charged the unit. Product instructions display setting the docking station, in a permanent location, with a strong Wi-Fi signal, against the wall, 3 feet of clear space from both sides of the docking station, and 5 feet of clear space out to the front of the docking station. It was not easy finding a space with this type of clear space in our home. I did speak with a couple of people that set their Shark Robot Vacuums up in less open space and their robot vacuums did fine. Downloading the app on my phone (android) and on a Chromebook was fast and easy. Connecting to our Wi-Fi was quick. You will have to connect using your 2.4 GHz band, 5 GHz will not work for the Shark app. Had trouble starting out with what is called “Exploring”. This is where the Shark AIROBOT explores your floor space and sets up a map for vacuuming. The app showed the vacuum was ready to start exploring however the vacuum would back off the charging unit, make a couple of circles, then return to the docking station. After allowing the AIROBOT to charge longer I attempted the exploring process and the vacuum finally backed off the docking station and began exploring. Very interesting to watch the Shark AIROBOT go through the process of exploring. I had to re-explore 3 times to get a map that I was happy with, so be patient. Raise up or remove any electrical wiring off the floor during the exploring process. The AIROBOT did get hung up on one large extension cord, I will try one of the floor cord covers. Once the vacuum has completed the exploring process it will give you the opportunity to accept the mapping or re-explore. The Shark AIROBOT did a good job vacuuming the floors. The exploring procedure is totally different from the vacuuming process. The exploring process does not take long and appears to travel all over the house erratically. When vacuuming it will take longer as it is covering the entire floor areas thoroughly and generally in a better organized manner. The ability to target rooms or specific areas is a very cool option. Open the Shark app, pick the area/zone you would prefer to vacuum, press the CLEAN button on your phone or tablet, and off goes your Shark AIROBOT vacuum to clean; you can press the CLEAN button on the top of the Shark AIROBOT vacuum also. The AIROBOT did vacuum one room a couple of times, completely, before it finally exited that room and moved on. Judging total time to vacuum our home will not be accurate for the first complete vacuuming session. Our home is 1385 sq. ft., and it took 118 minutes, with 20% battery remaining after completion, not sure if the Shark AIROBOT vacuumed the entire home and it did vacuum one room twice and I believe it missed one room. Not sure if the Shark AIROBOT finished vacuuming or went back to the docking station to re-charge. A lot of bumping into items or walls hard, hard enough to move lighter items. It will also take some time for the Shark AIROBOT to adjust and move away from objects, such as closed doors or low furniture, where it cannot access. Cleans some areas multiple times and it appears to be the same areas each vacuuming session. The spot cleaning feature is sufficient. You cannot adjust the size of the area to be spot cleaned and you cannot change the vacuum strength mode, UltraClean only. You move the approximately 7-foot square to the area you would like to spot clean. The Shark app, like many apps, has limitations, and I found some processes would not work as stated. I was attempting to merge two small areas and the app would not allow me to do so, not the end of the world, however the app should allow me to merge the two open areas, they were designated areas adjoining one and other. The area of concern is a small hallway that is broken into 3 designated areas, and I cannot merge them into one. The final mapping, that I accepted, has 10 areas. The kitchen and the laundry room came up as one zone even though there is a doorway. Part of the hallway is part of the living room zone, and the remaining part of the hallway is separated into two zones. The remainder of the rooms mapped out nicely. UPDATE: After enlarging the map on my Chromebook I was able to merge the areas I was concerned with. The AIROBOT app has a “Find Robot” feature, when pressed the vacuum will emit tones, the tones are not very loud at 100% volume. It would be a nice feature if you were able to move the docking station without having to re-map your home. I want to move the docking station however it took 4 mapping (exploring) events to get a good mapping of our home, so I chose not to move the docking station, yet. The Shark AIROBOT has 3 vacuum modes which is very nice, along with Scheduling, No-Go Zones, Go Zones, Room Select, and more. I would recommend the Shark AIROBOT 2000 series vacuum. Pros: — Great navigation skills — Comprehensive app provides lots of control — Easy setup Cons: — Weak cleaning ability — Short running time — Long charging time The success or failure of any robot vac hinges on its ability to navigate with the least amount of human assistance possible. By that measure, this new Shark AI robot vac is among the best out there. I have used three or four different devices of this type over the years this one has the potential, at least, to be the best at finding its way around your house without you doing a lot of prep work first. Those who already own one of these know what I am talking about. Older, less intelligent models could easily get lost or hung up in a wide variety of ways, ranging from getting tangled in electrical cords to simply getting boxed into some tight area, or caught up on some threshold, and not being able to figure out how to escape. Thanks to Sharks' new AI laser navigation system, which allows the vac to actually "see" obstacles as opposed to blindly bumping their way around them, this vac has a much easier time finding its way around. In fact, before you can even use it, you must turn it lose to "explore" your house first . It's really a mapping mission to give the vac a rough idea of the shape of the rooms it must vac. And where the obstacles are. The end result, hopefully, is a map that shows up in the vac's essential sidekick, the new Shark Clean app. I said "hopefully" because my vac's attempt at doing this resulted in map that looked nothing like the footprint of my home. I am not sure why, but I had more success the second time around. Once you have an accurate map, the app gives you lots of choices about what to do next. You can clean the whole house, just one room, or a combination of rooms of your choice. You can also block out "no-go" areas or designate certain areas for extra cleaning. You even tell it to spot clean a specific area. And of course you can schedule the vac run to run whenever you want. That said, the new Shark AI, is still not smart enough to just turn it loose and forget about it. Sadly, it I can still get tangled up in electric cords, and still get hung up on low obstacles (less than 2 inches high) because it cannot see them. But it is better at navigation than any other robot vac I have tried. Setup is easy too. Just pop on the two rotating "cat whiskers," put in on the charger (make sure the blue light is on to indicate it is actually charging) and download the Shark Clean app. Then follow the instructions. In actual use, I found the vac a little schizophrenic at times. It would start to clean one area, then return to an area already cleaned for no apparent reason, and then return to the first area to complete that room. Very inefficient and somewhat puzzling, given its clearly superior mapping capabilites. In the end, these vacs are only as good as the programming and it appears that this one still needs some work. Hopefully there will be future firmware updates to correct these deficiences and improve efficiency. Another big disappointment is the vac's cleaning chops, which frankly are not that good. In normal setting (default) , suction seems quite weak, with vac unable to pick up anything heavier than light debris and pet hair. It left behind objects as small as a grain of cat litter in some case, even on bare floors. You can set the vac to run at a higher power cleaning mode. But that burns more battery power, another big shortcoming. It does not run very long on a charge — about 30 minutes — so most users probably will find they have to run the vac through at least two charging cycles to do their entire home. Even worse, charging times are agonizingly slow, up to six hours per charge. (The vac does return to its charging stand automatically, when needed) As for cleanup, well there is no auto-empty function with this one (although Shark does sell some models that do that). So you must manually empty the dirt cup and clean the filter after each cycle. The filter IS washable at least so you should not have to replace it often, But Shark recommends new brushes every six to 12 months. The bottom line here is this new Shark Vac has a lot of potential that is not yet fully realized. The hardware for state of the art naviagtion is built in but the programming is still a work in progress, it appears, which leaves the vac a lot less efficient than it should be.Daytonadan

I must admit I was a bit disappointed in this newest version of the Shark Robot vacuum compared to several other Shark Robot vacuums I have owned in the past. But I've come to like it – for the most part. The most unique quality this Shark Robot has over my previous Robot vacuums is the navigation and mapping out of your home's floor plan. It took me 4 tries to get the floor plan correct – it seems to be very, very dependent on where you locate the base station. Having the base station in any kind of 'tight area' and you'll get a very small floor plan. I moved the base station to our dining room under a large wine hutch and it mapped out the floor plan much better. I also added a couple of high traffic zones which helped a lot (kitchen and entryway) The cleaning power of this Robot Vacuum is very impressive, especially when you run it in "UTLRACLEAN" mode – which does chew up the battery faster than regular "CLEAN" but it is worth it. This Robot Vacuum has a better capability than others to handle multiple floor types – we have mostly tile and wood floors, with a few chunky throw rugs and it did a fine job navigating around once the floorpan was defined well. Overall, I would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a decently priced, relatively smart, robot vacuum. The floor plan issues were eventually solved – so give it a chance.Winger81

We've got a couple large area rugs on otherwise all terrazzo floors. Recently adopted a short double coated Aussie Shepherd Beagle mix that has now begun shedding. This vacuum works great for our situation, the smaller head being easy to maneuver around and under tables and recliners. Intermittent use up to 30min for the rugs does cause the vacuum head to get pretty hot, not where you hold it, but to the exhaust side. Being corded delivers plenty of suction power without the added battery weight of a similarly capable cordless vac. I agree with others that upright storage could have been better executed. I'd suggest Shark include some kind of wall mount to hang it up when not in use. Overall happy with the product, although the price point around $200 on sale with coupon still seems a bit high in my opinion.Kent

1 person, 1 cat household. The vacuum has good suction BUT the cat hair gets stuck around a small metal peice and doesn't make it to the bin. If you have more than 1 pet – this is NOT the best unit. 1 room = empyting the bin and removing the hair from around the metal piece. It also cannot stand alone which is highly annoying. I don't want to take the motor off and attach it to the stick so that it will be self standing. DUMB design. It gets HOTTER than a Texas summer day very quickly. You cannot find the accessories listed in the maintaince booklet online. I guess they don't exist. You can find replacement filers. This vacuum is best as a quick, pick-me up unit — not your only vacuum.Zaney

This is more of an electric broom than a vacuum cleaner. It does a great job getting under furniture and cleans well on both carpet and bare floor. I have 2 dogs so I was trying to get to hard to reach areas. It does that well with the attachments included but I wish it had a brush. However, it’s made for small areas because it needs to be emptied often (easily) because it’s quite small. It also overheated after about 30 minutes of what I guess was too much work for it. Waiting an hour to turn it back on is a bummer. It’s a bit awkward to use as the handheld part at the top is heavy. As a result it won’t stand up on it’s own. You have to lay it down. It has it’s uses but doesn’t replace my old Shark. It’s much smaller and not much lighter.Mary

Okay I have literally been vacuuming the last 4 hours with 3 dogs shedding and the Kirby not doing its job correctly the house was bad! I literally vacuumed everything I could. 1st the Couch 5stars the attachments and easy amazing! 2nd the stairs again 5stars the way you can use the vacuum head while Removing the center polls making it short was a game changer! I then vacuumed my bed before adding the poll back! Then I went to the floors. I love how it goes from carpet to hard floors with the touch of a button and the way the long poll has the under furniture button that folds the poll the opposite direction, again game changer! I loved not having to get on my hands and knees to vacuum the dog hair trapped under the different furniture pieces! The soft bristles on the vacuum head didn't clog one time from the dog hair so it's came to self clean the rolling bristles is legit! Now here is the parts I didn't like, on carpet it has where you can change to suction power, that I like however everytime you stop it to pick something up on move something and start it back you have to reset everything. The attachments attach to the long post in one spot and it gets in the way in my opinion i would like them better in a lower position away from the handle but that prevents the under furniture function. I had to empty the tank 3 times so I would like a larger dirt tank. Overall I would say if your house is like mine and more hardwoods and tile flooring than carpet I say. 5 stars overall and do it! If your home is mostly carpet and not much hardwoods or tiles I would say the Shark upright vacuums would be better for you!Ashley

My Shark canister vacuum was a Christmas gift. We have a Shark lift away upright; which I love but I wanted a canister vacuum to be able to clean everything from one room to the next. Unfortunately, thus one just doesn’t do the task for me. I cannot go very far with this vacuum as it tips over while trying to get to the attachments or if you are trying to vacuum from the floor the hose isn’t very bling or an addition metal hide attachment is needed. I like to vacuum my drapes, window shades and window seals and furniture. If I try to reach my curtains the entire canister lifts up which makes it difficult for me to get my chores done. I also do not like the attachments being attached on the outside as they get In the way and fall off. The canister unit needs to have a self storing compartment under the lid for additional attachments. The beater bar unit needs to be able to stand up by itself without falling over. I must definitely would love Shark to have a model canister that I can use from one room to the next with just a switch of attachments. Including a separate floor attachment for hard floors along with the crevice and small wand for furniture would be awesome. An additional metal wand that would extend so I could reach my ceiling fans and drapes would be amazing. Having a detachable beater bar unit along with the separate hard floor attachment would ever so helpful and will save on the beater bar unit getting dirty from kitchen and bathroom floors. If you could take these added features with the awesome cleaning power of the Shark; you would have a winning machine. I hope these suggestions will be welcomed by your designing department. I have been using sharks for the past 10 – 12 yrs now. I still have my original one I bought which was the shark rotator with the caddy turning it from upright to canister. We have always had 4-5 big dogs and a Himalayan cat. All long haired dogs from golden retrievers to Berne's mountain dogs and had a dycon that didn’t even pick all that hair up. That is what led me to try the shark and I was sold every since. Then I got the stick for when I’m in a hurry and want a quick vacuuming and decided to really invest and I love my canisters. I have both hard wood floors and carpet so need it to do both very very well. This is my 3rd and I absolutely love it. Worth every penny. It has suction like no other, the cup holds a lot of hair and dirt, I can do the stairs which has carpet on them, the hose is plenty long enough and the canister doesn’t flip over and cleans up easily. I’ll never get another kind of vacuum again.Michele

I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. Let me start this review by saying that I have purchased and used a lot of vacuums in my day. For the last couple of years I’ve been using the Shark Vertex Powered lift away. I love that machine, but still missed having a canister. I had been seeing the Shark Canister Pet vacuum advertised on line and a couple days ago decided to purchase, and I’m so glad I did. The first thing I noticed when trying it out for the first time was how powerful it is. The suction power is unbelievable. I also love that it has 3 speeds of suction power. The beater brush has two speeds. Low and high. High is recommended for carpet while low is recommended for hardwood floors. The power head has fins mixed with bristles and does an excellent job at removing dust and dirt from floors. My favorite thing about this vacuum is how lightweight it is. I literally can pick the canister up by its handle with one finger. The controls for this vacuum are conveniently located on the handle. This particular canister vacuum comes with two attachments. A decent sized crevice tool and a nice upholstery tool. The power head comes with the unit as well. I tried my attachments from my vertex lift away and they fit and work with the canister! The canister glides on 4 caster wheels and moves great. It also has a 25 ft retractable cord. The Shark Canister Pet is a high quality vacuum that’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. I give this vacuum an A+! In my humble opinion Shark makes the best household vacuums on the market today! I truly love all three of my Shark vacuums, and wouldn’t want any other vacuum! This is my first canister vacuum. I can't say how it compares to other canisters but it's an amazing vacuum. This vacuum has incredible suction. Far better suction than any other vacuum I have owned. I am actually quite shocked at how much this can pick up. I have cats so I needed a good vacuum to pick up all of the hair in my home. It has easy to use buttons on the handle for changing the suction level or cleaning modes. The MultiFLEX is a great addition and allows for easy cleaning under furniture. The no hair wrap brushroll is a lifesaver! I hated having to cut hair from the roller on my other vacuums. I get so much hair caught on those and this one never gets hair stuck on it. It's easy to empty and holds more than my other vacuums so I can make less trips to empty it. The wand is extremely long and can reach further than any other wand I have used, making it great for getting up high near ceilings. The attachments work well for crevices and removing pet hair from furniture. There are super bright LED lights so I can see if I am missing anything while I vacuum. This can be used with the canister wheeled on the ground or carried. It is lightweight and easy to carry up stairs or around furniture. The wheels work well to pull across the floor as well. It isn't as maneuverable as a standard upright and works best in open spaces unless the canister is being carried. It's just what comes with using a canister compared to an upright. The retracting cord is a huge improvement over having a cord that needs wound up after use. Overall, I am thrilled with this vacuum. It cleans incredibly well and is so easy to use.thisgirl00

I have been using this shark bagless pet pro canister vacuum for some time now. With 3 pets who shed nonstop I'm always in the market for the greatest and newest vacuums available to help me keep the hair down and the allergies away. The vacuum has a great section not just using the hand tools but also in the floor roller itself. As someone with long hair one of my greatest battles is trying to get mine off the roller using my old vacuums didn't matter style or brand. This bagless canister vacuum also comes equipped with self cleaning paddles leaving me more time to get other things accomplished. Let's just say I was astonished at how much was pulled from my rugs when I regularly vacuum weekly sometimes 2 to 3 times. One of the better features that I've seen on it that's not mentioned is it actually runs more quiet than other vacuums I have used. The hand tools are great the only thing that I seem to have an issue with is the awkward positioning of the tubing maybe if it was a bit thinner a bit longer it would be easier but sometimes when you're walking around it'll flip the vacuum itself and turn itself off because it has 2 different ways to power it on and off. I do appreciate the actual hand tool or hand grip having its own power button and also button and also being able to choose from the hand tool whether it's hardwood floors or carpeting forces having to use a foot to change the setting. I definitely recommend if you have pets pets with short hair long hair or if you're like me have super long hair.AshleyC.

I ordered two of the Shark Vertex UltraLight DuoClean Power Fins corded Vacuums in September, 2021, one for my use, one for Christmas gift. Mine was put into use right away. After about ten minutes of normal to light use, the motor power decreases drastically, and vacuum won't pick up anything. After several tries, i returned it to QVC for replacement, which I received. The gift machine was used after Christmas, and same thing happens. After a few minutes, power decreases. It was some time before I tried my replacement from QVC only to find the same thing happened. Being in poor health for some time now, I have not had the time to tend to this matter. My return time through QVC has expired, and I am left with two Shark Vertex Vacuums, neither of which will work. I have no idea how to proceed at this time.PatAK

First of all, the cons. It is top-heavy obviously and must be propped against something to stay up when not using it. That is a minimal inconvenience for me. It has a very long cord and the motor kind of gets in the way of wrapping it. I don't like that. I would've preferred a cordless, but that's my fault. It is what it is. The biggest flaw I've found is that it gets hot very quickly. I'm wondering how long it will be before the motor burns up. That said, here are the pros, it's lightweight and basically glides across the floor with no effort. The dust bin is a cinch to empty and it holds a fair amount of debris. It has good suction and reaches hard to get places easily. I dislike the cumbersome cord but will keep it because I need a good handheld vacuum and QVC neglected to include any paperwork or a return label. Thankfully, it was a bargain price. I would've given it 4 stars had it been cordless. I'm not sorry I bought it. It's my first Shark. I always buy Dysons.KSweatman

I just purchased this product and have used it one time. Set up was a breeze and it charged quickly. The vacuum works very well. I have Pergo floors in light oak, so they don't show dust, but do show dirt and debris. The vacuum had no problem with any of it, including onion skin. The mop part works well as a cleaner. I have some dried on liquids it would not remove, but neither would my Swiffer, which this replaces. But the problem is, the cleaning fluid, once dry, leaves a filmy residue that dulls the Pergo. Under the right lighting, you can see where the liquid was and where it wasn't. I tried buffing it to no avail. It remains to be seen if walking on the floor with buff it out. So as a vacuum and mop, it works. But that residue from the cleaning fluid is barely acceptable. Your results may be different. But I'll be keeping it because if does the job and I will use it more often just for the vacuum. I may forego the mop.lochnez49

I got this in hopes of making it easier to clean my floors with something that is an all in one. But I will be returning it. It is nothing more than a glorified swiffer. The pads are disposable. You even need a pad to do the vacuuming and you can only vacuum in one direction because that's where the suction is. So it takes twice as long. Then the pad is extremely dirty afterwards and you're supposedly supposed to use the same one. Why would I use the dirty pad to then mop with? I wouldn't. So I had to use a new one. Once that pad is wet it begins to flop around and you have to apply pressure to get it to stay in place while mopping. Applying more pressure and holding the vacmop a certain way will in turn cause back pain. The compartment for the liquid also does not come off. So you need something to use in order to pour the water into it. Just bad overall execution on this. I would not recommend and I will be returning. I bought the mop system from my shop club which has reusable pads. Yes I will have to sweep or use my regular vacuum beforehand, but it will still take less time than fighting with the vacmop.Mindy Burnette

So impressed. I am not paid or given a free bot for this review. I researched for 4 months and settled on this model by Shark. I don't know why people are claiming that this robot marks walls it comes close but does not touch them in fact if it sees a object it slows down till it maneuvers around it. Everything advertised it does and does excellent. The app is very easy to use. People complain about the app but I think they are using cheap phones or tablets. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this unit, I watched tests between roombas and eufys and all the the robot vacuums that could self empty at twice to three times the shark was nothing is close. The main thing was all the other company's use Vslam and cameras for guidance they can not see in the dark and basically go in random action like a bump and go toy, Not this Shark that uses lidar which is a invisible rotating Laser for guidance it is perfect and works even in the dark. I had to laugh roombas latest self empty has a white spotlight led mounted above its camera so it can clean without bright sun or the lights on. So you can pay 1400.00 for the vslam spotlight robot or 500.00 for the shark and have 3yr vip warranty with latest tech and row by row cleaning, and individual room cleaning. I also want to point out that after it does a room row by row when it finishes that it goes all the way back around the border of that room. Suction power is excellent on max, but you can choose between eco, norm and max in the app. You can choose to have it go back to empty every 30 minutes and it will go right back where it left off. I never have had it not find the base or had to go find it. I know it can be frustrating when trying to decide on which robot vacuum to buy. One Year since purchase of our RV1101 (the 2502's previous generation model). I am completely satisfied with our Shark AI self emptying vacuum! 2 Labradors and a cat in our 2400sq foot home ensure that it has plenty of hair and dirt to contend with and it accomplishes its duties admirably. While the literature indicates "Up to 30 days" between emptying the base dirt receptacle, under these conditions that is a ridiculous expectation! Empty it daily until you determine for yourself how long it takes to fill it based on your actual home cleaning requirements if you have pet's in your home! That said, this is an incredibly good tool for keeping a home as clean as possible when shedding dogs are a part of your life. Other than emptying the dust bin every 1-2 days, it only requires washing the foam base filter once weekly and thoroughly cleaning the robot and base including vacuuming out the filters every 2-4 weeks. A truly minimal amount of time and effort required for a remarkable result. Getting "stuck" is a very rare occurrence if you follow the instructions for preparing your home. The "Empty and Resume" and "Recharge and Resume" features are what enable the Shark robot to accomplish it's duties in a home this size, Every day it's full cycle runs for over 4 hours to fully clean our home including 4 clean and dump cycles and a full recharge cycle (2 hours) after the 2nd dump following the first hour of operation. This includes the time it spends "Going Back" to clean any area where it expects to clean but may have been prevented from doing so on it's first attempt due to being obstructed by frequently moved furniture or a lazy old dog that refuses to move for "that pesky robot" (yes the old dog will just lay there despite being bumped repeatedly). As soon as I received the Shark AI Robot Vacuum I wanted to set it up immediately in our open concept kitchen, dining and living area. All laminate flooring. I thought that the set-up might be a bit complicated for me but Shark has made the set-up and operation of this vacuum very user freindly. Even before opening the box, I was able to take my smart phone and scan the QRCode on the outside of the box and download the app. Step by step instructions guide you through the vaccum set-up process. (The most complicated task I had to do was go to my internet provider's app and enable the 2.4Ghz setting on our router, which is required for the Wifi connection) The set-up process includes sending the robot vacuum out for a mapping of the area to be cleaned. I was amazed that after just about 10 minutes the entire area was mapped out. Afterwards, I went to the app to look at the map and saw an accurate representation of my rooms, down to the footprint of a column seperating the rooms. The schedule tool allows for scheduling the vacuum to run whatever time, whatever day and however many days a week. It also records a history of those past scheduled cleanings and represents on the map the areas cleaned. I am definitely using the Ultraclean feature of the vacuum. This feature enables highlighting on the map, heavy traffic areas, or in our case the areas of the floor in front of the sink, around the island and the area in front of the stairs. The vacuum spends extra time cleaning these areas during the scheduled cleanings. I have also taken advantage of the spot cleaning feature. This feature enables you to highlight a spot on the map and have the vaccum clean only that spot without the vacuum doing an entire cleaning. After any cleaning that vacuum performs , the vacuum returns to the self empty base. Quite honestly, this Shark robot vacuum has too many features to list here in my review. The technology packed into this vacuum is amazing. Shark has developed an app that has all the support anyone could need. After a lot of research on Shark Vacuums, I narrowed it down to two models: NV501 and AZ1000. The reason for this is these are the two models that have additional attachments available through Shark. The steady eddy is the NV501 which has been around for years. When I was ready to purchase, I wanted to try the new Apex technology. Walmart had a price rollback on the AZ1000 @ $279. I ordered it online and it came within a week. Although the box was corner damaged, nothing was damaged inside. Aside from the great price, the vacuum was easy to put together and included a crevice tool and crevice tool. My first impression after vacuuming the same area several times back and forth slowly was WOW! I couldn't believe all the "stuff" the vacuum was picking up that my previous vacuum had missed. The AZ1000 has dual brush rollers that really do well on both carpet and hardwood floors. This model has three settings for various types of flooring, and the power switch is on the handle as well. With the powered lift away, it is easy to maneuver on stairs. ( I will be ordering an additional motorized hand tool for additional cleaning.) This unit also has LED headlights on both the beater bar and the removable hand nozzle making it easy to see darker spaces and corners. The vacuum maneuvers well around cupboards/baseboards and any other edges around the house. The swivel steering makes it easy to get in hard to reach areas and emptying the dust cup is a breeze. With the HEPA filter and complete seal technology, no dust is escaping while you are vacuuming. My home actually smells cleaner. While the Duo Clean is a cool feature, it is not completely infallible when vacuuming long hair and will still require some hand removal on the fins. Despite this, it still removes a lot of hair without getting stuck in the rollers. The cord is plenty long at 30 feet and the 1350W motor seems to do well. I do animal rescue work and cope with a LOT of pet hair. This vacuum has three floor surface settings which allows me to adjust the roller height to match the area being cleaned. It has good suction and a decent sized debris cup so I can cover more territory without needing to stop to empty it. The power cord is extra long, and that also helps get the job done more quickly. The lift-away feature provides a wider range of options for cleaning a larger variety of spaces and places. The light on the front of the machine provides enough illumination to assist in seeing tumbleweeds of pet hair that might otherwise go undetected. I've only had the machine for a few weeks, so I can't speak to its durability and lifespan, but given its performance in the early going, I am very pleased with it and trust that it will provide exceptional service for many years to come.javollb_27

This vacuum has some nice features. It is light, maneuverable, and the bagless dust can is easy to use. Unfortunately, these positive features are drastically overshadowed by the many enormous design flaws. The wand design is terrible and only works at the one angle the handle is fixed at. The tools likewise are garbage and if you're trying to get to any other angle than the exact angle of the wand handle, they don't come in contact with the floor. The hose is way way too tight. There's no way my elderly grandma could use this vacuum. It takes all my arm strength to move the hose longer than a foot or two. And if you do that, the stupid thing falls over. There is a shoe icon on the head – you would think it's where you would put your foot to unlock the head. Nope, in reality it's where you need to keep your foot the whole time you're trying to use the wand and hose to keep the vacuum from falling all over the place. I think Shark thinks you're supposed to carry the vacuum everywhere and that way it won't fall over. But now all your hands are full and because the hose is way way too tight, it takes both hands to move the wand. The head is self driving but the motor is way too strong so you're constantly holding the vacuum back to keep it from running away. The suction is very strong. Not in a good way – it sucks itself into things and is difficult to get off. My old Shark had a corner cleaner on the head that was great. That's gone – why get rid of great features and make a worse product? Overall I despise this vacuum and wish I'd never gotten rid of my old loud heavy Kenmore because it worked so much better.Laura

I have been using this vacuum cleaner daily for about a week now and have not noticed any hair in the roller. The vacuum is easy to maneuver in any direction with and can basically be laid flat to reach under furniture. Lightweight and Portability: This vacuum is so light that you can literally lift it with a finger. The vacuum weighs about 13.8 lbs. with the roller attachment and 9.4 lbs. with out it. In canister mode the vacuum cleaner is great for cleaning up stairs and up high. Filtration: There are four levels of filtration on the Shark Rotator Lift-Away vacuum. The first is the Lint Screen within the dirt cup, which catches larger debris. THE BREAKDOWN: This Bissell Upright Shark Rotator Lift-Away Upright vacuum with PowerFins and self-cleaning brush rolls hits a lot of the targets you want in a vacuum. This vacuum is very flexible if you have a home that has many different flooring types. I personally have 90 percent hardwood and 10 percent carpet with 2 dogs. Overall, this product performed very well on all surfaces. It is lightweight and has options for maneuverability. Right out of the box it was simple and easy to use. The setup was very simple and fast. I have used this vacuum extensively on carpet and hardwood floors. I found that the vacuum performed very well. The light design made this vacuum easy to use. I have one rug that has a long napp and the vacuum performed well. The vacuum hose seems cheap and not very flexible like I am used to. The lights are one of my favorite features of this vacuum. You do not know how much hair and dirt are on your floor until you see it with the lights on this vacuum. I was surprised the first time I used this machine. Emptying the canister could have been thought out a little more in my opinion as you have the top button to remove it from the machine and then to dump you have to push the button on the bottom of the canister getting dust and debris on you sometimes. I think the button to dump should be the one that releases it from the vacuum itself. The noise level is average as far as vacuums go. I didn’t really notice that it was louder or quieter than previous vacuums that I had owned. One last thing to mention is the power cord. The upper cord racking arm is on the wand, and I found this to make the wand too wide to use in small places. The cord is not as long as I like, and it is made of stiff like material and is not very malleable. That is just a personal preference. My journey with Shark vacuums started in 2002 with a small canister type that was used until the wheel broke off and couldn't be replaced. In 2014 I purchased the Shark Navigator NV355 Series. I thought it was amazing and used it until I had to hold it together with duct tape rendering the lift-away feature useless. I gave it to my son knowing that it wouldn't be used as much and would work fine for him. I decided to upgrade to the Shark Rotator NV680 in 2017 and was totally pleased with its performance. I didn't even mind periodically having to cut my long hair and sewing threads away from the brushroll because the suction and overall performance were so great. In early 2022 I noticed that the bristles had worn totally away on the brushroll and I looked for the replacement part which was unavailable and has not been available for the remainder of this year. I purchased the Shark Rotator ZD402 Series a few weeks ago and I am keeping it only because it has a working, self-cleaning brushroll. Rather than having been improved over the NV680 series, it has been downgraded to be more like the Navigator NV355 in the following areas: 1. The power cord is 5 feet shorter and length matters when vacuuming. 2. The crevice and upholstery attachments are subpar. Fortunately, the better ones from the NV680 interchange. 3. The machine feels very loosely made and not as substantial as the NV680 Rotator. 4. The hard surface to carpet switch has been removed from the handle for convenient thumb operation to the top of the unit. Why? Why? As you seem to have no trouble inundating my e-mail inbox with ads and offers, PLEASE, Please, please let me know as soon as there is a replacement power brushroll available for the Shark Rotator NV680 Series. Now this is a great Shark product. I have been buying Shark vacuums for a long time. Last one I got was not as good and I was disappointed as it seems that the company went in a "bad" direction as the last vacuum wasn't as good as the others before. So I decided to go with Dyson for a change and got the Dyson Outsize based on reviews and recommendations from others, paid pretty much $1000 for it with additional warranty. And, it was such a disappointment. I went back to the store the next day and decided to go back to Shark and got this vacuum (Shark – Cordless Pet Plus with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal – Blue). We have been using is for few days and… we love it!!! It is light, easy on your hand, easy to maneuver, suction is great (even on low power), and it seems that so far the battery is holding great. Plus has led lights while believe it or not, the $799 Dyson Outsize did not have any lights??? The vacuum has two speeds, one for bare floors and another for carpets. Both are great, suction is excellent and the bare floors looks like they have been wiped (no dust) after. One thing that is taking away from the greatness of this vacuum is the loudness of the second speed, the one for carpets. I would love it to be less loud but hey, it is still not a deal breaker. The Shark cordless pet plus anti-allergen vacuum is a thing to behold. The Pros: Cordless Good Charge Good Design Powerful The Cons: No stand Accessories are a mess It's a trap! Here are the pros I encountered using the Shark cordless pet plus anti-allergen vacuum. First, I have three dogs, and they shed terribly. On most days, I find myself vacuuming with my older cordless Dyson vacuum (which by, the way, is terrible; it does not hold a charge, and it does not pick up everything, and we maintain the vacuum). I found that it takes an hour to an hour and a half to fully charge the cordless vacuum, and you can use it on full power for about thirty minutes. What I mean is, there is a trigger located conveniently on the handle, where you pull it, and the power increases for hard-to-pickup hair/dust/crumbs. The increase in power ensures that I do not have to go over an area more than once while vacuuming (this is especially useful with dog hair), but also I can pick up dust that settles under hard-to-reach areas too (like under a bed). You can see the dust being removed from the floor on full power as you are vacuuming, thus removing any allergy-related particles that settle. Additionally, the vacuum is powerful, and on full power, I can vacuum my 1,400 square foot house with no issues. However, with my cordless Dyson model with the same "power enhancement mode," I clean for ten minutes, and only half of my house is vacuumed. Again, this Shark vacuum holds a charge, its powerful suction is useful for pet hair and for allergens that pollute the air, but it also takes little time to recharge. More so, the accessories are good, but the specific wand that you use to vacuum pet hair off a couch is OK. The issue I ran into is that the hair sticks to the tool, and you are spending more time removing it from the attachment piece than from the couch. Although not a terrible thing (because it takes the hair off well), it can be a bother for someone who does not want to spend the time to clean the attachment wand off. Lastly, the Shark cordless vacuum can clean both hardwood floors (which I have) but also low-pile area rugs (which I too have) in my home. If you plan to use this on a high-pile (shag-like) area rug, be cautious as it does not do as good a job of vacuuming. I noticed the vacuum becomes louder, and crumbs do not come up as well; it is not a big deal for us as we have another vacuum that can vacuum this rug. Now, the Shark cordless vacuum does not come with a stand of any kind. Meaning, if you plan to hang it up to charge, you will have to carefully lean it up against the wall to prevent it from falling (the wheels may slip, so place it up against another object to prevent the vacuum from slipping). Although this is not a deal-breaker by any means, I wish Shark followed suit with what Dyson does and include a wall mount for your vacuum to conveniently charge and a place to store the accessories when not in use. Speaking of the accessories, when you are not using them, you cannot attach them to the vacuum for storage, and they sit on your floor where you store the vacuum waiting for use. Hopefully, Shark provides a wall hanging mount that will allow you to attach accessories to it soon. Lastly, the trap on the vacuum is easy to release and remove the vacuumed debris. However, where the advertised "release and go" is not so easy to use. Once you press and release the trapped debris, sometimes hair gets tangled around the filter inside it; thus, the quick and release system fails, and you have to stick your hand inside the trap and pull out the hair that gets tangled in and around the filter. Overall, the Shark cordless pet plus allergen vacuum is easy to use, and it has a lot of power to pick up dander, pet hair, and dust. Where it lacks is an accessory storage option and trap cleanout. Though, these faults should not sway someone from purchasing this vacuum. I highly recommend the Shark cordless vacuum, and it makes cleaning more enjoyable/painless.Veganrichy

I've had 5 Shark vacuums over the past 6 years, ranging from cordless to standard upright and Robots. Currently, we have the steam away pro mop for the hardwood floors, Robot for maintaining the floors clean and the Navigator lift away for the deep cleaning. We purchased the Shark Pet Plus Cordless Stick on 03/12/22. Today's date is 04/21/22. I would like to point out that I do not and have never intended to use the cordless vaccuum as the sole unit of cleaning for the house. We use it like one would a broom; to pick up crumbs and light cleaning. I say ALL THAT to say this. Yesterday, the front wheel of the Pet Plus cracked/broke while it was in use. I was super bummed. Mind you, I've had it for just under a month. My previous cordless Shark actually had the same thing happen to it BUT AFTER 4 YEARS. I was certain this could be remedied. Maybe it was faulty? Maybe I just got a bad unit? I called customer service and was politely told the only thing to do was purchase a whole new brush unit which costs $90.00. I was appalled. Never in my wildest dreams would I believe the conversation I just had. I have the receipt and purchased the cordless vacuum a little over a month and its broken with minimal use and the only remedy given was- buy another rolling bottom unit. WHAT?! I never leave reviews like this but I would urge everyone to reconsider buying such an expensive vacuum that breaks with minimal use. If I continue using it, it will scratch my hardwood floors. The representative from Shark was polite but based on his cadence, I could tell this was a conversation he has had many times. He knew exactly what I was describing and finished my sentence for me when I was describing the little corner wheel that cracked and shattered. I'll be going back to Best Buy to handle this and I am sure they will refund me or allow me to swap for a Dyson. Unbelievable. I'm so disheartened and disappointed. This vacuum works really well. It’s easy to maneuver and does a great job getting all the dirt. Taking the floor head off and using the pole to get into the edges is a dream compared to using a regular upright vacuum (I always seemed to go too far with the hose and knock over the vacuum). The canister is on the small side, but I only have carpet in 1 room and some area rugs so it’s not an issue for me. Never seemed to work that great on the hardwood floors. It spits everything it picks up out the back or falls back on the floor when I lift the vacuum up. The other thing that is bothersome for me is my hands cramp after so long from the extra weight of the canister/motor at the handle.jessica.s

This vacuum has so many features from carpeting, upholstery to hardwood! When I opened the box I was a little overwhelmed seeing all of the pieces but after looking through them it was explanatory what each piece was for. The filter looks like its just packaging and I thought it did not contain one in the box. But it is two pieces one is made of foam. Its easy to clean out the filter box where everything that's sucked up is contained. Just a simple click over the trash to release it. Its a great vacuum, so light and moves so quickly across the floors with a powerful suction. Comes with a dust mop attachment to use on hard wood floors. When using the dust mop piece it makes my hardwood floors sparkle. On rugs it lifts dirt that I thought I had gotten up with my regular vacuum its amazing. I thought it would be cumbersome to use because the motor is held mostly in your hand but its not a problem at all. It has interchangeable parts that can reach my venting fans in my bathroom very easily. Its very flexible and glides right under beds which are usually tough spots to reach. I purchased my Shark Rocket Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum for Carpet and Hard Floor Cleaning with Swivel Steering last month. I did not plan on buying this brand at first. My intent was a canister type vacuum that was not over 12 pounds. I noticed the Shark Rocket design immediately and the words "lightweight " caught my attention. I can't lift large heavy or bulky items any longer. I picked the Shark Rocket up and it felt great! I noticed it was designed to be user friendly. I can easily vacuum the entire floor without emptying the holder. There are several features that are wonderful including push button releases that allow you to change to attachments. For a lighter vacuum, the Shark has tremendous power. I love the ability to clean corners and baseboards at the push of a button. It is easy to empty and clean out, again, at the touch of a button. You can assemble it in less then 5 minutes. The hose extends 11 feet! That's nearly unheard of. The suction and what this picks up is crazy. I vacuumed one room, that had nothing on the floor, just to have a full container of cat hair that was unnoticeable. My other vacuum doesn't pick up that much. The brush on the bottom is awesome because it's designed so hair doesn't wrap around it. Less time yo have to take it apart and clean it. I love this upright vacuum cleaner! It is super easy to put together. The vacuum head swivels like a dream and makes it easier to go into tight places. It goes smoothly from hard floors to carpet and there is a min./max bar you can slide on the handle to easily adjust for easy movement on carpet. It comes with a crevice tool but I will be ordering more accessories for it. The hose detaches and reaches up to 11 feet for cleaning above the floor. I like that it deep cleans and is anti-allergen. I don't smell dust at all while using it. It has a self cleaning brush roll so if you pick up long hair it doesn't wrap around and get stuck. There is also a handy hand held vacuum that detaches for cleaning up messes. This is really a professional vacuum cleaner that will give many years of service.iluvcoffee

Overall it's a great vacuum. If you are used to the cheap Bissell's, this thing will blow you away! The suction is fantastic on high ply carpets or hardwood floors. The canister is easy to dump and the filters are easy to clean and seem like good quality. Shark's lift-away system is super convenient when needing to get behind or under furniture. The only reason for a four star is because of the limited (or lack there of) attachments and the size. This is a hefty unit and if you're limited on space, I would look for something a little smaller.Devon

Love that this is a lightweight vacuum with a lot of suction. The dirt canister is easy to lift off and empty easily, that is a real plus for me. I vacuum daily because I have pets that seem to shed constantly. I was sweeping and running a robot vacuum but after seeing how much this vacuum was getting afterwards I realized I was wasting my time with those and now just run this vacuum instead. Being able to remove the main canister and vacuum hard to reach areas like stairs and ceiling fans has proven to be a real back saver. I love upright vacuums for my floors but because of the stairs and hard to reach areas like under the beds I wanted a canister now I have both in one vacuum. The vacuum is easy to assemble and learn to use, plus because it is so light, easy to carry up and down stairs. The vacuum is very quiet on hard floors, the carpet setting is louder during operation but not extremely loud. The best thing of all, lots of suction you would be surprised at what it picks up.PinkyT

Before I dispose of this vacuum I thought it was only right that I write a good review on it. Old blue was purchased right after we got married . It moved 4 times including a cross country move. He has sucked up a total of 10 years of shedding dog hair. For his final year he resided upstairs in my sons room where we abused him with legos, dried play doh and hamster bedding. This thing wouldn’t die! We had moved on from old blue about 2 years ago when he developed a split in his hose and at 8 years I bought a new one. Blue is a amazing vacuum and will not let you down. I never replaced a belt and rarely cleaned out the brushes. I consider my self a hard core tester ! So if this isn’t a reason to buy it .. idk what is. Rip Blue!Mom2boys4dogs
