Best Shark Vacuum For Hardwood Floors (2025 Update)

We purchased the Shark corded stick model at Target a few years ago. At first it was great, and I recommend it for smaller houses or apartments since it's lightweight and small. It's powerful for its size. But it's not super durable. From what I've read, Shark doesn't make many replacement parts and there aren't many opportunities to repair their products. After about 2 years, several important parts were broken, including the hinge holding the dust cup together. We've been using packing tape to hold together the dust cup, and we have to cut off the tape to empty it and then re-tape it shut every time. Also the main little interior hose at the bottom that connects the head to the stick cracked wide open. The brush gets wrapped with long hair easily. The suction is pretty bad now, probably because of all these issues. Overall pros: It's great on wood floors, good on rugs, and works well while it lasts. Lightweight and easy to maneuver and carry up stairs. I like the attachments and they're easy to use. Long cord. Bagless is more environmentally friendly, although it's best to empty it into a plastic bag anyways. It's a good deal when it's on sale for $100. Overall cons: Doesn't stand up on its own. Cheaply made. The dust bin is really small. It's a hassle to empty the dust bin because you have to unplug the whole vacuum and carry the entire cord out to the trash can with you to empty the cup. Also, bagless vacuums just seem dirtier to me since the dust and hair isn't actually contained. It's always gross emptying it and trying to avoid the cloud of crap flying up at you. It is amazing honestly. We vacuumed our carpets with our old Shark right before we went to Target to look for a new one. We came home and vacuumed again over all of it. The canister filled up TWICE. I was mortified lol. This vacuum has powerful suction and harder tips on the roller that RAKE the carpet and get the film of dog hair out of my thick plush carpeting. I’m not lying. If I was unimpressed, I would tell you so! You DO have to empty the canister more than you would any other vacuum because it is small. If you are continuously vacuuming every room in your house and not emptying, you are going to put extra stress on the motor. It IS a stick vacuum. If you need heavy duty, 5-6 rooms at a time vacuuming, this isn’t your vacuum. I had to empty after EACH room because my vacuum obviously wasn’t doing its job. But I expect next time I won’t (I hope) because I will be pulling out the vacuum daily and keeping the dirt to a minimal in general. I really wanted cordless but my man insisted he didn’t want to deal with battery issues. I’ve never had a cordless and I just wanted one so bad. Cords irritate me and get in my way lol. But this purchase was good. So far I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back and redo my review if I feel like my opinion has changed in a couple months. I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. Good suction, still finds dust and dirt and pet hair 2. Lightweight and really low profile so you can vacuum under things easily 3. Price is amazing for the quality 4. No bags and all the filters I can clean out on my own and reuse. Huge cost and environmental savings. 5. Easy and fast detach / attach for getting corners and using the tools that come with it. 6. Dust bin opens easily and smart so I can hold it over the trash and won’t get dust everywhere. Less messy to empty than others. CONS 1. Corded 2. Hose broke down in head where it bends and flexes as you vacuum, I noticed it at year 3.5, so I had to replace that segment of hose (had holes/cracks in it). I purchased a hose at Home Depot and found some instructions online. Overall it was moderately hard to replace. 3. Suction does not adjust when you vacuum over rugs like the expensive name brand competitor so I have to stand on one end to hold the rug down due to the suction wanting to pickup the rug. 4. Doesn’t sit upright, must lean against a wall when it’s not hanging on the wall given it is too heavy. If you pause during vacuuming to pick something up etc. the thing may fall down while leaning against the wall. Takes a bit of experience to get the perfect, no-fall lean figured out.jessica.b

This vacuum is light weight and easy to use EXCEPT the on button is just above the button that opens the dirt container . Every time I vacuum, by accident, I open the dirt container and dirt goes everywhere! Its a mess! This happened to a couple people who tried to help me as well. What a horrible design error!!! Plus the dirt container is very small and needs to be emptied often…unless you vacuum with it open!! I purchased it because my health is failing and I needed something lightweight and easy to use.. Also the main opening in the floor portion totally plugs and the entire bottom piece needs to be taken apart and you need a bottle brush or a something long enough to push the plug of dust or whatever out of the elbow (which you can straighten). Its not difficult, but annoying and messy as well. I would never recommend this vacuum to anyone, its too much work and too much money for the horrible design. I love Shark products. I have been waiting for the TSV and for this vac to be back in stock. I purchased rose gold, blends well with a neutral palate. I still use my original upright Shark vacuum purchased from QVC (10 years) which is a beast at cleaning my tile, wood and carpet floors. I use a robot vac for 1/3 of my floors that are not heavily traveled. The top of the line name brand R- robo vact does a ok job, but it takes a long time and I needed a stick/handheld vac which I could use for small jobs in the kitchen, sunroom and run it over high traffic areas daily. It is quick and picks up well. It has a swivel head and lies down to get back and under furniture. The battery life last and I have never had trouble having is run out. This device is not a replacement for a quality upright vacuum. Nothing is. This vac is for small jobs, daily floor maintenance and I love it. You are able to buy a replacement battery from Shark if needed and I love that too. So many stick vacs end their battery life and you cant easily replace the battery. Not the case here, so this device will last a long time. The hand vac is handy (HaHa) for crevasse's, corners, and I have used the pet tool on my sofa and it does a great job with dog fur. The filter needs to be changed sometimes during a job based on how much stuff it has vacuumed up. I have not cleaned it yet, the manufacturer says to clean the filter monthly. Recommend this vacuum to help maintain clean floors especially in high traffic area and recommend it for any busy household.medicinewoman

I have had this for about a month now and I do have some things to say about it. First off, the pros: Very east to use and set up. I can't tell you how nice it is to just pick this up and use it WITHOUT having to plug it in. Just pick it up and go. I love how east it is to take the top part off for when I have to get under areas the vaccum can't. I love how easy it is to empty the vacuum out. Simply press a button and release the dirt. No dust flying everywhere. Cons- The battery life is atrocious. I can't vacuum my 1200 sq home all the way without it dying. It is very annoying when you are all set on cleaning and getting it done quick and then to have the battery die and wait an hour or more before it charges back up. The dust area is very small. Some people may love this, because the don't want dust flying everywhere, and I love that to, however, the area is so small that after just a little vacuuming, the vacuum suck is really bad and you have to dump the dust. The last thing is, the add ons for the hand part of the vacuum does not connect to the body of the vacuum, so you have to hold them in your hand, pocket or walk over to the charging station and grab it. Minor annoyance but felt like it needed to be said. Overall, a great vacuum for small areas and little cleanups for everyday use, not great for a big clean day.HugeMunchkin

I just purchased this product and have used it one time. Set up was a breeze and it charged quickly. The vacuum works very well. I have Pergo floors in light oak, so they don't show dust, but do show dirt and debris. The vacuum had no problem with any of it, including onion skin. The mop part works well as a cleaner. I have some dried on liquids it would not remove, but neither would my Swiffer, which this replaces. But the problem is, the cleaning fluid, once dry, leaves a filmy residue that dulls the Pergo. Under the right lighting, you can see where the liquid was and where it wasn't. I tried buffing it to no avail. It remains to be seen if walking on the floor with buff it out. So as a vacuum and mop, it works. But that residue from the cleaning fluid is barely acceptable. Your results may be different. But I'll be keeping it because if does the job and I will use it more often just for the vacuum. I may forego the mop.lochnez49

I got this in hopes of making it easier to clean my floors with something that is an all in one. But I will be returning it. It is nothing more than a glorified swiffer. The pads are disposable. You even need a pad to do the vacuuming and you can only vacuum in one direction because that's where the suction is. So it takes twice as long. Then the pad is extremely dirty afterwards and you're supposedly supposed to use the same one. Why would I use the dirty pad to then mop with? I wouldn't. So I had to use a new one. Once that pad is wet it begins to flop around and you have to apply pressure to get it to stay in place while mopping. Applying more pressure and holding the vacmop a certain way will in turn cause back pain. The compartment for the liquid also does not come off. So you need something to use in order to pour the water into it. Just bad overall execution on this. I would not recommend and I will be returning. I bought the mop system from my shop club which has reusable pads. Yes I will have to sweep or use my regular vacuum beforehand, but it will still take less time than fighting with the vacmop.Mindy Burnette

I have a Shark Navigator, gifted to me by my mother as a house warming gift. I've loved it for years but I was getting tired of giving my vacuum a "haircut" because of the bristles and I started to notice it wasnt sucking up all the fine granules from my carpet powder, leaving a gritty feeling. I was comparing other Shark models and decided on the Stratos. Here's my thoughts – Pros: -Powerful suction -3 settings – hard floor, carpet/low pile, and thick carpet/area rug -Easy press power button on handle -Brighter LED light -The power control and setting controls are on the handle, making transition between floor types and ending your cleaning session -Odor neutralizer is a cool feature, like a little febreze pack -Very good at picking up pet hair without kicking it back around or out (we have a cat and a dog) -Has powerfins and velvet roll, so it doesnt beat up hardwood floors and really does clear hair wrap (no more haircuts!) -The dust bin is much easier and less dirty; push down to release and back up to close the bin. No more grabbing the bottom of the bin over the trash to dump out -Gets right up to the baseboards -Wand and handle do not scratch my floors when moving it along perimeter of rugs or tight spaces Cons -A bit heavier than my previous Shark vacuum -Has a high pitched whine when running -LED light turns off when upright to use wand or handle (I liked this feature on my Navigator because I could get under dressers with the wand and still have it illuminated to see fine particles or dust) -Vacuum head is a bit clunky, doesnt get under small areas such as under dishwasher lip or bottom of counters; luckily the wand is about to do so Overall, this is a very good vaccum and has powerful suction. As a pet owner, it is perfect and is a big upgrade from my older Shark model. The odor neutralizer is a cool feature but not enough to make the switch if you already have one with the anti-hair wrap roller and/or power fins. But if you want something that is powerful, doesnt beat up your floors and can pick up even the smallest bits of dust dirt or pet hair, definitely make the upgrade to Stratos!ald915

The package I purchased includes the Upright vacuum, HairPro self-cleaning Pet Power Brush, duster crevice tool, upholstery tool, odor neutralizer cartridges, and a 5-year warranty. Pros: 1. Handle can be detached from the base to be used with the attachments. 2. Powered lift away where in we can detach the canister and use the vaccum like a stick vac is amazing. This helps us to reach high places like cleaning the dirt in the roof or fan blades while holding the canister in our hand. Also it is easy to vaccum the floor with the canister in the hand so that the vaccum doesn't feel heavy. Since I have back problem, I usually had issues in the past with Dyson Animal 2 vaccum as it felt very heavy and there is no way the canister can be detached. SHark has did an excellent job in fixing this problem which the other competitors have failed to fix. 3. Increased dust capacity of 1.48 quarts is a a big upgrade which helps us keep running the vaccum across the entire house without having to empty the canister multiple times. 4. Light – It is easy to clean under the table or furnitures or bed with the light on the rollers. My Dyson Animal 2 did not have this feature and i find this feature really helpful. 5. Completely Sealed technology combined with the HEPA filter which filters particles down to 0.3 microns which prevents the dust we vaccum from circulating in the house. 6. Duo clean head is a patentend brushroll that combines soft roller and a traditional roller into the same floor nozzle. 7. Ability to control the suction power on the handle – This is a unique feature for upright vaccum. I have seen this on some of my cordless vaccums that I had in the past. I like this feature as i can choose the suction power depending on how dirty the carpet/floors are. 8. Powered Pet tool attachment is small but powerful. It does pick up the human hair without being tangled. Which i am pretty sure will work for Pet hair too. Tests: 1. Cleaning the hair – I tested this by vaccuming the entire house. Stratos did an amazing job of picking up all the hair and left the carpet look very clean. When I turned the vaccum over i found almost no hair underneath. It came up pretty clean. This was not the case with my Dyson Animal 2 vaccum. I had to clean up the human hair every single time. If I clean it may be once in a month, the brush roll will stop spinning after an year or two and there will be loud sound from the vaccum. Stratos did not have any of those problems as there was no hair present in the brush roll which saves atleast 5 to 10 min every single time. This is a big deal for me and I love my Stratos just for this. Although it is recommended to eject the front soft roller and clean the stuff that gets stuck as part of regular maintenance. 2. Cleaning around the edges of the wall – The Stratos did an excellent job in picking up the smaller pieces of food that was present close to the wall without having to use the crevice tool. 3. Strongest suction of any upright vaccum in the market – I tested this by cleaning the particles stuck between cracks/gaps in the floor – Stratos was as strong as my Dyson Animal 2 in picking up the food particles stuck between the gaps in the floor or mat. I really love the powerful suction of Stratos. It does indeed have the strongest suction like Dyson. But not sure if they are both the same but i am pretty satisfied with the suction power of Stratos. 4. Cleaning under the furniture – Stratos is able to clean under the low-clearance furniture by removing the Powered Liftaway and using the head like a stick vac. I was able to cleani under the table that had around 8-inch clearance quite easily. One can even twist the handle to swivel the head in this mode. 5. Cleaning the cereals – This came up clean with few attempts especially the thicker cereals put up a bit of fight but there were no flying particles. The ejections did happen but it was minimal and i was happy that there were no flying particles. Suction is pretty impressive. 6. Cleaning the fan blades – Multi angle dust brush is my favorite. It helps to reach the fan blades by still maintaining the impressive suction. Unlike other vaccums where the dust flies around when cleaning the fan blades, this one did an excellent job of cleaning the fan blades with no dust flying around. Cons: There is only one con that i can think of which is the Odor Neutralizer. It did emit a clean and fresh smell while running the vaccum (unlike other vaccums) which is a plus but that smell was mixed with the usual vaccum exhaust smell. I would say the odor neutralizer works but does not really completely neutralizes the smell. I think Shark will be improvising on this in their future models.Nataraj

I have had several Shark vacuums over the years and have always had nothing but love for the Shark brand. This Shark corded stick vacuum does not disappoint and lives up to my expectations from such a reputable company. Out of the box it comes with all the necessary attachments you think you would need to keep a clean living space. Taking out all the attachments and the base I could tell that it was going to be a very lightweight appliance and fit my needs perfectly. It was simple and straightforward to assemble that I just quickly snapped together the primary base and suction home with one simple click. It comes equipped with a very long power cord that allows for optimal travel when cleaning without having to unplug numerous times in order to get the job done. It has a somewhat gimmicky odor neutralizer freshener that you simply plug in and twist to get the level of freshness that you desire. It does smell good and works as it should, but I say gimmicky because it is essentially a plug in air freshener attached to the vacuum to blow fresh smelling fragrance when in operation. I/m not knocking it by any means as it does work, just do not know for how long it lasts. Also coming with this vacuum is the furniture attachment and crevice cleaning tool. All easily attached with a simple click here, click there, and your off to go. What makes this vacuum great is the power you get from a corded vacuum but the light weight maneuverability of a cordless stick vacuum. This thing is very powerful and easy to clean with the clear snap dust canister. It has both a sponge filter, also easy to clean, and an aluminum mesh filter similar to a coffee filter. It has two settings for hard floors and carpet. When the setting is changed, it either activates or deactivates a second powerful fin brush for extra cleaning power. There is also a bright led light on the front but is not very useful because it only lights a small area directly in front of the vacuum. For me at least this was not a helpful feature because I usually clean in well lit areas. I do see it being useful if you are ab le to fit it under your furniture to clean. When not in use, this vacuum is pretty much self contained for easy storage. You are able to detach the suction base and sit on the vacuum floor base with a hidden slot. The hose tube has an attachment for the crevice tool and furniture tool. But then there is no place for the handheld vacuum base which was kind of a disappointment for me. It seems there is always that 1 tool that does not have a home for the self storage which ends up making that one piece easy to lose. Overall, other than the few minor short comings of storage and the gimmicky add ons, I feel this vacuum is a functional and worthy purchase for the home consumer. Just bought this Shark "Purple" Navigator vac on the recommendation of a friend who has one. First let me say I have owned at least a dozen vacs in my life including models from Hoover, Oreck, Pnansonic, Electrolux and a couple of industrial strength shop vacs. This one blows them all out of the ring. I have hardwood floors with large area rugs, mostly wool or synthetic Oriental and Arts and Crafts patterns. Despite the fact that I have regularly vacuumed them with my previous (and clearly wimpy) vacs, when I used this Navigator today I was completely shocked at how much dirt, pet fur, human hair and lint it pulled out of them. After one pass in my master bedroom the large dust cup was packed solid and I had to empty it. Same thing when I did the other bedroom and the 4 downstairs rooms. I completely filled a box the size of a footstool with the clumps of nasty grey fluzz the Navigator pulled deep out of the carpets. And it even pulled up the nap so they look fluffier. It's amazing how clean they look, like I just shampooed them! I feel like I have all new rugs though several of these are over 20 years old. Seriously, buy this vac, it's an excellent value. Do read all the instructions, though, because you need to know how to release all the latches and adjust the suction. The maximum suction is so high you may have to turn it down a little or it will literally pull lighter rugs up into the roller. Easy to adjust, this twist a ring around the handle. Got this today, was a breeze to assemble and get going. Picks up a lot of dirt and hair quickly, I like the no tangle bush as we have a longer hair dog, and my wife and daughter both have long hair which used to have to be cut from the beater bar of our old vac on a regular basis. This one has 3 filters so good for allergies, and the dual brushes which did very well on carpet and hardwood, getting a lot of the dust on the wood floor the old one couldnt get.Only a few things to note, the bin is a bit small and had to be dumped a lot because of pet hair, 3 times on our main living room. It is not the lightest vacuum but about the same as our old one. I wish it came with a cleaning brush head separate order… and had room on board for all the attachments instead of just 2. The head is low profile and fits places our old one would not, and it turns very well. Will see how well it holds up as the Dyson 07 it is replacing lasted us for 20 years and did a good job consistently. Just didnt want to pay top dollar for a Dyson again.3 months later and the vacuum is still doing a great job. We have not had any problems with hair wrap on the brush bar with our golden retrievers fur. Still have to dump the bin a lot with pet fur. Still miss that there was no standard brush attachment, but came with basically two upholstery brushes one powered, one not. About to order the standard long bristle cleaning brush so I can clean the air return and vents, be nice if the sizes were standard so I could just use the old ones from other vacuums. Another quick update, trying to find accessories like the dusting brush has been difficult. Shark does not carry one on their website, even though the owners manual says they do, and cant or wont tell you the dimensions needed. If youre looking for great suction, easy to clean dust bin and lights…then get this. However, if you have a bad back or arthritis, you may want to pass on this vacuum. I vacuum every day and will definitely get a work out while using this. But….I love the way it cleans and Im thinking the weight, sturdiness of this vacuum may make it last longer? When using the extension wand, the brush rollers stop, I know thats important for some. I do not use the lift-away feature, so I cant comment on that. So, love the vacuum and would recommend if you dont mind it being on the heavy side.Lisa

This is an amazing vacuum. The Shark Navigator light upright vacuum is the best budget Shark vacuum for small to mid-sized rooms. It has the same suction power as the advanced units and cleans well for both carpet and hardwood floorings. The only negative about this product is that it does not contain a HEPA filter. Other than that, the vacuum performs admirably and it definitely feels light enough to transport to different areas of the home. I believe that this product is built durably and will last for many years to come. Cleanup is a breeze using this product and I definitely enjoy the large container for trapping dirt and other particles. The blue color scheme is masculine and has a sleek styling. I love this vacuum cleaner because it does the job well and it definitely is my cup of tea. I love Shark and want to sincerely thank the manufacturers for making such an excellent product!AndyKim34

I packed and used my Shark Navigator Light Vaccum this weekend. It has great suction power and did a great job both on my carpet and hard floors. It is nit a heavy vac so it moves with ease. I was able to take it upstairs by myself without husband's assistance. That's a good feature; light weight. I also like all the attachments that come with this vacuum. The pet feature was important to me because my dog sheds like crazy so I used the pet tool to vacuum my car and dog beds. I am very happy with my Shark vacuum! GO get one.Coffee Qween

I would have given this 5 stars, but there are some design flaws. #1 The onboard tools are constantly falling coming off. #2 the hose design is frustrating, if you don't twist the handle just so, the entire vacuum falls over. #3 they could have added 3-5 extra ft on the power cord. All this would have been a huge negative but this vacuums sucking power saved it. This thing SUCKS & never clogs. Hard floors, carpet CHECK! It is lightweight and easy to use. I bought this to replace our old Dyson V6 Animal Cordless. I read many reviews videos for research. I had a Shark Navigator Pro before and I know Shark makes a good vacuum, so I was excited to try this. It seemed great. It went together easily and the crevice tool did well between the couch cushions and around the edges of the house. I liked the flexible arm that let the vacuum bend to get really far under furniture like my tables and sideboards. It was easy to empty the canister and easy to use. After using the vacuum about 30 minutes, a clog developed in the first joint where dirt from the head goes into the tube to take it up to the canister. This clog (half of which is pictured) was so big it extended from the opening of the vacuum suction hole on the bottom of the head, all the way up to where the head attached to the main long arm. After looking into the vacuum head's mechanics, I found that there are three "lock screws" on the underneath that allow you to take off the bottom guard piece to access the suction tube, which means Shark knew this was a problem and they "fixed" it by giving the consumer more work. I was able to use a cat wand toy to shove through the bottom to push the clog out the other side. This mess pictured on my couch was the result. As someone who has severe dust and environmental allergies, I don't exactly want to play with clogs of my allergens in order to get my vacuum running. I also have a large house, two long haired Siberian cats, four teenagers, and a job. The LAST THING I have time for is housework and messing around with crappy vacuums. For the price point, I'd expect this vacuum to actually work properly, and not take a ton of work to use it. The entire thing felt wobbly when fully connected and used to vacuum floors, so I didn't see the expected excellent quality of materials or workmanship for the price point either. Furthermore, as several reviewers stated the vacuum did shock me multiple times with static electricity buildup, which was annoying. Another con to this vacuum is that when I was vacuuming my couch where the cats lay, it wouldn't pick up all the cat fur regardless of how many passes I made. The suction just wasn't powerful enough, or maybe the static buildup offset the suction, gluing the cat hair to the couch in dreadlocked strands. Besides all this, the vacuum was very heavy and bulky. This thing will be going back tomorrow, and I'll be placing my order for the Dyson V11 Animal. I'd rather pay twice as much and know for a fact that my vacuum will work when I need it to, how I need it to. Save yourself the headache and don't get this Shark Vertex Cordless vacuum.MandieSue76

I purchased the Shark Vertex Cordless Stick Vacuum to use primarily to clean the floor near and around my bird cage. Every morning I let my parrot out of her cage, where she sits on the Playtop, and also on a perch mounted outside the cage. She creates quite a mess because seeds drop onto the floor, and some feathers. Getting my corded vacuum out just to cleanup around her cage was a bit of work, so I decided that a cordless vacuum would be the perfect solution. What I love about this vacuum is that it folds down for easy storage, and I can fit it in the room close by the cage. It's very easy to operate, and easy to empty the dust cup. The swivel powerhead with lights works great. It comes with several attachment tools, however, when you remove the power head to use the attachments, the suction power is not as strong. For my use, having this cordless vacuum is still the perfect solution, but I will still be using my corded vacuum for whole house cleaning.DianaNaples

I bought the Shark because I have a corded one downstairs. I needed a vacuum upstairs for my 2 floors, that was light weight and can maneuver pretty well. First off I want to say the "Shark" name is good. This cordless vacuum does not do well with pets. I have 8 cats and cat sand everywhere, the only thing it does is spit the sand out from the back, Has a very difficult time picking up fur as well. You know when you see a piece of fur and the vacuum front just has to go near it to suck it up. This vacuum does not, It just makes it tumble farther. Good for light clean ups but for every week vacuuming, I strongly recommended getting the corded one. It was more power for suction and spot clean ups if you spill rice or oats on floor. To bad because for the price you think it would be worth it. This vacuum is now on our 1st floor where there is very little traffic and pets. Perfect for a formal dinning room or front room that no ones goes in and you need a quick spruce up. Also if you have cats and cat sand, clean filter ever ytime you use it, the dust seems to bog down the performance as well.jsepulvida

Just bought this yesterday and I can say for the time being I am impressed with how it made my carpets look. I have been using a Dyson that I bought 19 years ago and while it is true that the suction has never waivered, it can no longer get things out of the carpet as easily as it once did. It would often just spit the things behind and would take several rolls over it to actually pick it up. However when I would use just the hose, it still worked great. So here are the noticeable differences between my old Dyson and my new Shark: Pros: I love the light on the front of it so that you can really see what you are vacuuming up. Currently the suction is great and I could feel it really pulling at the carpets to get stuff up. It switches easily from carpet to hardwood floors and does great on both. My cats scatter litter all over my stone floor and it didn't hesitate to pick that up. When I did change to non carpet, I did notice that it is almost impossible to push on carpet anymore. The tiny head of the vacuum can get between a lot of things and can slide under things to a certain extent even getting under my coffee table who's lower section is only about 2 inches off the ground. Cons: It is a bit unwieldy when vacuuming carpet and I definitely felt sometimes like I had to fight it for control because it's easy swivel nature made it want to go it's own way. For someone who has had a standard push vacuum for years, this will just take some getting used to. But I definitely felt like my arms got a bit more of a workout trying to make it go where I wanted. The cord is shorter than the Dyson so I had to unplug and plug back in in several different places. Which might be a good thing because the unit was getting pretty hot. I can understand why people wrote that they had issues with items burning out. I am planning to vacuum in short bursts and let the machine cool down rather than vacuum my entire place at once. It also got a little unhappy when trying to vacuum area rugs. It doesn't seem to be a big fan of uneven carpet so my giant area rug with slightly raised swirls provided it a couple of hiccups. Overall I am happy with this purchase. Do I feel like it will have the staying power of my Dyson? Not really. But I would recommend at this time. I have 3 cats, 2 Goldens, and a toddler so I vacuum every day. I love how fun our home is but I don't want it to look and smell like we have a ton of pets inside! In a vacuum, I look for quality, performance, and for my carpets to look and FEEL clean. My Dyson Animal Ball 2 was great for a while but even with meticulous maintenance, it bit the dust in 2 years after a slow decline which is the average I keep a vacuum around these days. Note: I am 5' 1'' and 120 lbs; the Dyson was also hard to carry upstairs and push so I was looking for something a bit easier on the body given how often I pull the vacuum out. After doing some research, I landed on the Shark Navigator NV586 to try something new. Pros: Not only is the Shark lighter in weight, but it is easier to navigate and push. I am more impressed with the Shark's performance on hard wood floors and tile (kitty litter doesn't stand a chance) than the Dyson as well. Some reviews thought the Dyson performed better on carpeting, but from my experience, the Shark is doing comparably well, if not better – it leaves clear vacuum lines and I can feel the difference on the carpet. I also appreciate the added features such as the brush roller notification system, the LED lights, the easy detach system for vacuuming stairs and hard-to-reach areas, the comfortable hard floor/carpet switch, and the easily connected attachments. This vacuum makes the chore of vacuuming my stairs significantly easier with less strain on my back and I especially appreciate the upholstery attachment for dining room chairs and couches. The bagless feature is a must in my vacuum and the canister is easy to detach, empty, and keep clean. With pets and a busy household, the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal and HEPA filters are making a positive difference, for sure. The filters are also accessible and easy to clean. Con: The Shark has a shorter cord than the Dyson, so I do have to move it when vacuuming. Also, the base is pretty light so if working with the detachment/wand feature, make sure the base is stabilized otherwise it will tip over. I bought this vacuum to replace a Hoover pet specific vacuum that only last two years before it quick working. Upped my price range in hopes of a better tool – unfortunately every review of every vacuum is either overly negative or kind of okay. Decided to take a chance and this has been great. We've had it for over two months now with two long hair cats and a german shepherd. The suction is amazing, and also adjustable (definitely requires more push on carpet) – many folks complained about trying to use this on throw rugs, TBH I've not found a vacuum that does good with a small, not strongly weaved rug. Someone complained about hot air coming out the front? This has not been an issue, but literally all vacuums push out hot air. The lift away feature is great for stairs (really the only time I use it). There are two modes carpet/hard surface. I was skeptical of the hard surface with no brush roll, but honestly it's great. Overall I am satisfied with the job it does. Cleans way better than our previous vacuum.Emily

Long battery life: This vacuum has longer battery life than all my previous ones, on low, it's rated 60 mins and I usually use medium for my hardwood floor and it can be used around 40min which is super impressive. They also have a pretty display telling you the percentage of the battery life on top which is fairly useful. Great Value for its features: this is by no means a cheap vacuum but with the money you pay for, you get a lot of features. It has HEPA closed filter which is a big plus if you have people in the house with allergies or pets. It has dual rollers with different modes which makes its performance on par with top-tier vacuums, a guided rail for making an easy turn when you vacuum, and different parts that can be detached, washed, and maintained. Overall, if you don't care about super fancy color/design or big brandings like Dyson etc. and you just want a vacuum that gets the job done (so well) and is super versatile backed by great battery life that is going to last than break in a couple of years, this is the vacuum for you. The Shark Cordless Lift-Away vacuum is a pretty unique concept and a great idea, that just isn't quite a home run…yet. Out of the box (like most Shark vacuums–I've owned several) it's very easy to unpack and 'snap together'. It took all of five minutes to get together, and that includes a minute or two to look over the diagrams to make sure I was doing it right. The battery has some charge to it, but Shark recommends charging it fully, and draining it fully on first use before charging it again to get the most out of the battery. I obviously have no idea what kind of life span to expect from the battery, but given it's size and unique-to-this-vacuum design I can't imagine it's cheap to replace. I haven't done any research on this yet, but hopefully Shark has plans for other devices that will use this same battery, otherwise you're looking at a 'lifetime' expense for an already expensive vacuum. Best Buy's 'geek squad' protection includes one battery replacement–probably worth researching the replacement cost and seeing which is cheaper (I'm betting 5-years of geek squad is cheaper than one battery–plus covering everything else for 5 years? Probably worth it!). The vacuum itself is pretty easy to use, though it's a little tricky to 'snap' the body back onto the stick portion of the vacuum. The "led" placement that shows battery life remaining and which power setting you're on could have been placed better–as it is it's awkward since it faces away from where you are holding it, and requires moving it in order to read it. Not sure why they didn't face the back direction–that would have made a lot more sense. The big plus to this vacuum is that it is fairly portable–it's fantastic on stairs, or anyplace that it's harder or awkward to bring a normal, heavy vacuum. The Shark is noticeably lighter than every upright I've ever had to carry, so that is a blessing. They obviously worked very hard to make this light-weight, and they did a great job. It's still a little awkward since the 'body' has to be carried–there just isn't a good way to do this without both hands. The vacuum has three settings. Shark says that the 'normal' (middle) strength is good enough for every day jobs. I have three kids and a black dog that sheds a lot, so I feel pretty sure Shark's idea of 'every day' and mine are a little different. It does do a decent job, but I found myself switching to the high power setting fairly often. This brings me to the biggest drawback of this vacuum. The battery life on the 'high' setting is abysmal. We got maybe 10 minutes out of a fully charged battery trying to clean our stairs–granted, it had been a while since we'd done them so they didn't look great, but 10 minutes wasn't long enough to complete even half of the job. I imagine if we do them on a more regular basis we won't have to use the high setting, but it's a real drawback that when we do it won't be for very long. The 'normal' setting can get a little over an hour, so that's a huge difference. Again, it does a decent job, but even switching for a few seconds to high seriously affects the overall time–that hour drops to 30 minutes after using the high setting for 2 minutes. The battery is already far and away the heaviest part of the vacuum, so until some portion of the technology improves that will just be 'how it is'. Overall it's a great concept that's executed fairly well–just keep your old vacuum around for the big jobs, or for when the battery runs out (it takes a few hours to charge back to full). I recommend it due to the light weight and great ease of use, just keep in mind that you'll either want another battery right out of the gate, or you'll have to vacuum in 'spurts' while waiting for the vacuum to charge.SgtRock

Having had multiple shark cordless vacuums in the past, this purchase was easy for me. Replacable batteries (which i can use my older p50 batteries in here), replaceable filters (also have spares from p50) and i even have chargers already. Lets get a bit more into the vacuum. I thought the p 50 had a lot of suction, but this one actually sutprised me. After going over my carpet with the older shark, u immediately followed up with this unit. Both were on high, but wow was i impressed by all the fine dirt this new motor pulled out. Maybe its the power fins , which ill warn you are a lot louder then the older duoclean heads, but they seem to work better and they dont wrap up with hair!! The versatility of this thing is so convenient, the only thing its missing is spots for its attachments. Also, im uncertain why anyone would want the small powered upholstery attachment, you can detach the wand and use it on the brush head directly and this makes stairs a breeze! I owned a Dyson for around 12 years, but when it quit, Shark was highly recommended. I chose this model because it claimed to be good for pet owners, like many other models of the brand. I have to say that I've never been more disappointed in a vacuum. Here are some of the things I noticed: First off, it's awkward in regards to weight distribution. The thing tips over incredibly easy. Second, the cord is much shorter than what I was used to with the Dyson, meaning it had to be unplugged and moved around a lot. Third, it has to be emptied a lot. It just doesn't hold much, and is a mess to empty. Lastly, it's narrow head means it's going to take twice as long to cover the area you're working on. The worst part about this vacuum is that I just bought it in January (@ $179), and my carpet looks just awful. Almost right after vacuuming, you can't tell it was ever done, so the lack of cleaning over time has really aged my carpet that wasn't very old to begin with. I know this brand gets compared to Dyson all the time, with claims of equal or superior performance, but the people who say this couldn't possibly have actually owned a Dyson. They are not equal in any way, shape, or form. It's not even been a year and I'm already looking to replace it. I fear if I don't, I'll have to replace my carpet at a much larger cost.Burgster

I was blown away when I first got this vacuum in September 2018, in fact I think I wrote a review. It picks up pet hair more than the Dyson and Oreck I’ve owned. The furniture attachment is amazing at removing fur! However, 14 months later and I ended up here looking for Black Friday / Cyber Monday vacuum sales because mine is falling apart. That actually started fairly soon after purchasing, but it did such a great job I ignored it. I did call QVC in January I think, about the carpet attachment not working and was told to call Shark directly, whom I never was able to get ahold of due to wait times, time zone difference etc. So 4 months after buying a new 200 vacuum I was using my old Oreck on the few carpeted/rug areas of my house and just using the new Shark to de-fur the furniture and the wand attachment. And even that is not fun because it tips over every 2 seconds. It still picks up nicely but the plastic inside the canister is breaking, the hose is worn out and I’m tired of having to us two vacuums. So while the performance of this vacuum was good, it’s cheaply made exterior makes it not worth the trouble.EBL47

I regret buying this vacuum and paid over $200 at Menards in Lansing Michigan. If I could sell it I would! The cord at the base of the vacuum is in the wrong place. I am constantly tripping over it even if I try to secure it in the handle. Cleaning out the plastic bin is a mess I have to now put on gloves with a damp paper towel to clean it properly. I have long hair which when cleaning my hair is wrapped around the roller that I have to cut out and pull to remove it. The attachment/hose on the vacuum is to tight I have to hold the base and vacuum with the attachment in the other hand to prevent it from falling on the floor or hitting my legs. I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is light weight & really easy to remove the canister from the stick stick. Glides nicely over our entire house which has mostly wood floors and tile, but did well on multiple rugs with different pile heights. It even comes with attachments to clean the stairs, furniture or our SUV & truck. We had a different cordless one but needed a vacuum we didn’t have to worry about running out of battery 1/2 way through our home. The cord is super long so that helps us from having to re-plug every few feet. The dust compartment is simple to empty and clean out with a press of a button. We have 2 dogs and 4 kids so we’re constantly vacuuming, the power is awesome and it’s convenient to easily unload the debris. It’s lightweight too, so it’s easy for me to move around the house without it being a hassle. There is a little downside to it, which is that it doesn’t stand on its own, so you’ll have to either prop it on something or fold it (which is easy) in order to do something else if needed while vacuuming. So I’m taking it down a star for that since I do have to stop and pick up toys etc having kids & pets constantly playing.Heathermthomas

The Shark Rocket Pro, picks up VERY well. The area I first vacuumed with it, was a area that had been vacuumed the day before. Within five minutes, the Shark had picked up A LOT more. The vacuum was easy to assemble and the attachment comes apart easily to be able to vacuum the ceiling and other had to get to areas. The Shark glides across any floor easily and turns easily. The only drawback I found with this Shark machine was the motor was near the top of the handle and it made the machine top heavy. It doesn’t stand on it’s own. There are two small attachments that didn’t have anywhere to attach to the machine, that I could find. But, as well as this machine works, I find these to be minor problems. As you can see from the photo, it picked up quite a bit after only a five minute vacuum. I have animals and cleaning hair has always been a problem.adcatex6

This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum works GREAT ! I really like how light weight it is, I can very easily maneuver it around the house with little effort and let me say how GREAT it picks up all the dirt and debris from my floors. My carpets are much cleaner/fluffy and my hardwood floors are cleaned better than when I sweep. I am very excited and satisfied at how much debris/hair/dust/dirt was in the debris container. This vacuum has PLENTY of attachments that I can use on my stairs and I'll even be cleaning my curtains and window seals. As small as this vacuum is, is does the job QUICKLY and very EFFECTIVELY, much much better than my current canister vacuum. This Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is much quieter and very stronger in terms of suction than ANY vacuum I've ever owned. I went from 45 minutes of vacuuming to 15 minutes, WHAT A GREAT IMPROVEMENT ! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend the Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum if you want clean floors with little effort AND multiple attachments that can simplify and clean the most hard to reach places and other areas.liljayp

I purchased this from QVC on april 25, 2021, When I got it, I was thrilled–it performed like a dream and I could not imagine having a better vaccum. One year later, the device that holds the unit upright broke; a couple weeks later, the ability to utilize the floor/carpet option failed, so I had only one speed. Today, the brush rolls stopped rotating. I contacted Shark, thinking I had a 3 year warranty, only to find out it is a LIMITED warranty and does not cover the base unit that is experiencing all the problems. I was told they could send me a replacement unit for $95, which is nearly half of the original cost of the unit when I purchased it new. I declined, and was then told that I could have the replacement base unit for half price, as part of the "Limited Warranty." Needless to say, I am disappointed that Shark does not fully disclose it warranty practices. It seems that every time I see one of its infomercials on TV, the President of the company is constantly raving about how Shark stands behind its products. I will have to do some deep thinking the next time I purchase a new vac, as I have felt somewhat betrayed by the organization and its warranty practices.bucksfan

I’ve always heard people talk so highly of Shark Vacuums. I was so excited when I bought this. I was gonna get it home and my floors would be so clean,I’d be one of those people that people would compliment on how clean it was. Now, I’m not one to write scathing reviews and I’m always the first one to say that that one person out of hundreds that gave something one star is probably being dramatic, but Today I have to be the one person, even if y’all are gonna think I’m dramatic. So here we go. Don’t waste your time. This is the worst vacuum I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’ve seen quite a few (my mom had a vacuuming problem as a kid. We would go through one a year because she would wear them out so quick). Anyways where do I begin. It advertises as a pet vacuum. Which was a selling point as I have several cats and dogs. But it only picks up a piece of cat litter if you’re straight on top of it on hardwood floors and forget about it on carpet. As far as hair, it will pick it up from the carpet but it doesn’t suck it up so it leaves chucks of pet hair behind it as if it was Hansel and Gretel going into a forest. If it does manage to pick up the hair, it gets stuck in the hose so any piece of dirt that get sucked up behind just keep packing into the hose. I feel like if it was a person I’d have to give it the Heimlich maneuver it was so clogged. So every time I used it it would get clogged and I would open up the part that’s designed to be the there if something got clogged (I didn’t realize I would have to use it so often) and when I opened it dirt would naturally spew out everywhere so I would clean it out, put it back together, and now I would have to clean up what just spewed out of the vacuum which would just turn into a vicious cycle. This has happened every single time I have used it in the last six months. I’ve finally gotten so frustrated with it that I took it into the basement and slammed it against the cement wall until it was in several pieces. And you know what? I bet know it will work just as good as beforeKristin

I've had a few vaccums over the years but felt it time to invest in a pricer model and am very happy I did. It has great suction. Attachments that work removing fur from my furniture. Use it as a regular vacuum, wand or hand vaccum, with a easy step release from the main attachment. Easy to empty and clean, with cleanable filters, and so far, the main attachment is as advertised and hasn't tangled up with hair. 2 small but surprising features I love are light on the main attachment, and the hinged cord hook. I thought the light was silly at first but I never knew how much I was missing while vacuuming on sunny days or with all the lights on, but the vaccum light really illuminates. While the cord hook rotates 180° to allow removing the cord bundle in one go, versus unwrapping it off of both hooks. I own a rabbit, and the only short coming I have experience is that the main attachment can have difficulties picking up bigger debris like, wood shavings and rabbit dropping. I attribute that to the debris not fitting under the brush than the vaccum not being able to suction it up. Regardless it still deserves 5stars as I love this vaccum and would buy it again.Kara

purchased my new Shark Vacuum at Target on Black Friday, to replace my older Hoover Vacuum. I find that the vacuum was very easy to assemble within 10 minutes and was ready to go without having to worry about any of the bags. The Dual-Mode brush vacuum cleaned up a lot of Cat hair and dust my previous vacuum couldn't pick up. And emptying it out was a breeze. My one things about this vacuum is that it doesnt have a cord rewind, so I'm not amused with winding up my own cord. Its totally worth the buy.lewis.q

Not sure yet how to rate this vacuum. I recently bought this model as a replacement for model nv681. I like the features of the Shark vacuum, but it didn't last the full 5 years. It began literally falling apart after about 4 and one half years. The brush roller is literally hanging on by a thread. I hope the new one holds up better and longer that my first one, and performs at least as well as the first model. Also the customer service for Shark needs much improvement. When I called to get some answers, I got a major run around. There is no one to talk to when trying to get answers about problems. I would recommend this vacuum with reservations.Rita

I am a vacuuming obsessed weirdo! I just love to vacuum for some reason. I love the before and after and love the feeling of having a nice clean floor. That being said I tried out all kinds of other vacuums while never really finding one that was great until I bought this vacuum. It's got everything I wanted in a vacuum! I should have known to stick with Shark because I have an old lift away professional that I've had for well over 10 years!. It's even still going strong after all the abuse I've put it through but it's just time for a new one. Only reason I tried switching brands is because the upright sharks are quite heavy and I now have stairs in my place that are hard to clean witha a heavy uptight.. After multiple failures with other popular brands I found this one that converts into a canister vac making it much lighter to use on stairs. I'm in love with this thing. It works so well and it's super powerful with all the bells and whistles that I could ask for. The LED lighting on the pull out wand is a huge plus! Lights up anything I'm trying to vacuum. I vacuumed my bedroom soon as I got it right after vacuuming with a popular Eureka that I had previously bought and it was amazing what this vacuum picked up that was left behind by the Eureka. We bought this 3 years ago and the hose split along the ridges. We use it less then the recommended cleaning regimen that carpet manufacturers recommend (daily). Shark claims it's not under the 7 year warranty because we sweep to much.

If your product can't hold up to reasonable use then it's worthless and I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I also find all the nooks and crannies this vacuum has hard to keep clean (canister, wand attachment for furniture top guard thing)

Replacement parts are unreasonably priced with the company's less then expected life expectancy.Patient Farmer

Have to empty it again!! if it’s too full like you try to squeeze in the last bit of the 3rd room you have to empty from top and bottom of the chamber which literally makes such a mess (making more stuff I have to vacuum sad face) and on top of that as cool as the really long detachable from the body tube is , stuff gets stucckkkk like soo baddd!!! Omg it’s unbearable at times I have to use a really long wire coat hanger that I have It’s ridiculous lol so yeah love hate relationship it vacuums so well though that honestly I just deal with it especially bc this vacuum is super cheap it was $160 at Target and $175 on Amazon delivered with warranty included so worth it! And I even contacted them the first time I had the issue tube clogging issue and they replaced it but the same thing still happens I’m sure it’s just from being extended and then retracted the stuff just gets stuck and builds up. Again, I just deal with it because of how well it cleans literally like professionally clean. so, take this as you will !!elaina.a

I have owned a few different vacuum cleaners , made by different manufacturers over the last few years . And each one has lasted barely over a year. Now I'm not a person who vacuums multiple times in a week. Honestly , I may vacuum once every 2-3 weeks. So the old ones didn't crap the bed due to being over used. Before buying this fantastic vacuum , I did my due diligence and did a lot of research and read a ton of product reviews. By far I felt that this Shark vacuum was the best fit for me and I was right. Everything about this vacuum is smooth , easy to use & operate and definitely the best value for my wallet. I initially was hesitant about the price but I feel (and have heard from other Shark owners) that Shark vacuums last for 5 years and if that's the case , it's worth every single penny. I use this vacuum on every surface in my home . I'll never own anything but a Shark vacuum for as long as I live. Thank you Shark for making incredible products.NickinWNY

This vacuum is okay. I broke my other Shark Navigator, the NV586 purple one, about a year ago and needed a quick replacement so I thought this one would be just as good. It was not. It was fine but really just not powerful enough to handle my 4 kiddos and two pets. So I went looking for an upgrade and I am coming back to write a review finally becuase I recently purchased the new Shark Vertex DuoClean (AZ2002) and OMG I never knew what I was literally missing. One single pass over an 8×10 rug and the DuoClean picked up more dirt and hair than any other vacuum I have ever owned. No exaggeration, I think I picked up years worth of nasty that I had no idea was still in there. As a bonus, it also glides over the hardwood floors picking up everything instead of scattering it like other vacuums and now I am also throwing away my brooms. After owning three Sharks and one Dyson, I would recommend the DuoClean forever. So the NV360 is fine for single folks with no pets or kids who also don't need to do hardwood floors, otherwise watch for a sale and snag the new DuoClean.Karilyn82

It was time for another vacuum. We bought this thinking it would be a great buy. From the first time using it, there is barely any suction to it and hair gets caught on the roller. We try to vacuum everyday, but having to cut hair out of this thing is a hassle. I have looked the carpet over looking for if maybe there is a sticky spot for a reason on why it's not sucking things up. Carpet is fine. Cannot take this vacuum back due to losing the receipt. I would not reccomend this product. We will not be purchasing another Shark product.Kelsey

I got this vacuum as a gift and I was so excited because i heard great things about it. One of my most important part of cleaning is vacuuming my carpet!! I live in a rural area.. On a farm! So we track in a lot of stuff from outside. This vacuum worked great at first.. Then the brush roller completely stopped working. It just flings dirt everywhere! I called to see about getting it replaced and they said its not covered under the warranty!! What?!? I will not be buying a shark product again and i will let everyone know not to buy one either.Ally

I got this vacuum after my roommate broke mine and didn't replace it (I didn't let him touch my stuff after that). I did some research on what I wanted since I didn't want to be wasting money on something that wouldn't last, and decided this was a great option. I have a dog, and although she doesn't shed much I wanted something to help filter out allergens and the like. This thing does a great job. It has amazing suction and picks up everything. I bought filters separately from Amazon because they're super hard to come by in stores, but they are inexpensive. I now live with my boyfriend, and he also has a dog, so I am vacuuming every other day. This keeps up with the messes since our dogs think that dropping food outside of the bowl is humorous. They say you've reached true adulthood when you can say that you love a vacuum, and I've found the one 🤣victoria.l

Heavy, very hard to pull back because of forward pull of brush rolls. Puts of a lot of heat, even cord was warm after 5 minutes of vacuuming. It picks up pet hair pretty well. Unit is not fully sealed because I could smell the dust as I used it. Hard to fit pieces back together such as dust cup and lift away section. Upholstery tool is a joke, didn't pull any hair from my couch other than what was on the little velcro like bristle strip on edge of tool. Give it a pass and go for the older versions, I returned it.Tammy

I am such an over thinker. I read review after review and was on the fence until I finally picked the Shark Duo Clean, and let me tell you this thing is a Machine! I was so excited to try it out that once it arrived and out it together (this was a breeze) and went to work on carpets first and MAN O MAN I was blown away at how clean and fluffy they looked after just one go over!!! Moving on to hardwood floors and I think that just sealed the deal for me!!! It is a little heavy to push on carpet but nothing that would turn you away from it. Glided right over my hard wood floors picking up the littlest pieces of sand with little to no effort. I love how easy it is to turn and it fits perfectly under bed, ledges and couches. This machine is my new best friend! Don't sleep on it buy it!!!!!CaseyB

Worse sweeper ever. Bought it online from Shark site. I am on here so no one else will make the mistake. I bought two as my son did the research for reviews and they were great. He did not look to see how many were the result of a free sweeper so that was not good either. It is heavy, hard to maneuver. if you run it very long like several rooms you will have to take the rollers off and try to cut out the pet hair that is in them stopping them and turning on the red light to let you know they are not working. Then you have to get tweezers to pull the hair out. Now I am out almost $800 as I did not return it timely since I was recovering from surgery so found out too l late. Now saving to buy a real sweeper. My Dyson was great with pets and was not bought for that reason as I had no pets but once a bunny was introduced it worked great. After 12 years it finally gave out.Sandra

I love this vacuum so much! I have a big dog that sheds a lot so I am used to vacuuming very frequently. This vacuum was easy to set up and get started. I appreciate how easy it is to use and how effective each mode is (hard floor vs carpet). I also have a cat and one of the toughest things is finding a vacuum that can pick up kitty litter on the first try – and this one DOES IT!! I am over the moon, only have to go over each spot one time. One other huge benefit to this vacuum is the self cleaning brush roll. I have very long hair, and my previous vacuums would get my hair stuck all around the brush roll. But this vacuum with the self cleaning brush roll never gets my hair wrapped around it! It’s honestly pretty impressive. Overall, I love this vacuum and definitely recommend.Jody Ann

This is our second Shark vacuum. We loved our first, but I was having to give it a “hair cut” often. With 3 girls with long, thick hair in one household equals a lot of hair getting vacuumed and wrapped around the brush. This new Shark vacuum has a different brush that is more of rubber paddles that really don’t get all wrapped up. Unboxing and assembly was very easy and straight forward. The directions were clear and it went together in just a minute. I love that you can take the tank portion off and just walk around with that and use the hose. So nice to get into hard to reach places. The different suction options are also very handy for different flooring-hardwood, short pile carpet, long pile carped, etc. We have 3 floors of different styles of flooring, and this has been a very convenient tool.MamaHerman

I was so excited to get a Shark. A lot of my friends and family use Shark. At first I thought they looked big and bulky. I was WRONG. Best vacuum I have ever used. Its very manuverable. I love the functions. I love how you can flip the switch for hardwood and carpet, its so easy to use. Very easy to put together. So many filters to help with allergies is a super plus for me. I vacuumed so much stuff from the carpet, and I thought my carpets were clean. Its suction is amazing. Self cleaning brush roll is easy to do, I have long hair so my hair gets in the rolls a lot, very easy to clean. I am very happy with this vacuum. Its the best I have ever used, it has everything I need all in one. It detaches, it self cleans, has filters, no bags, easy to use, comes with attachments. Perfect vacuum.Thindman81
