I've been on Fendrihan for many years, trying countless different products from all the different categories and price ranges, looking for the best grooming regimen out there. This soap is one of the worst I've tried, as the lubricity it provides is on the low end of the spectrum, and it tends to dry out very quickly which leaves a hard flaky layer of soap scale on the face. This is turn affects the smoothness of the shave and opens the door for razor burn. I live in a very dry climate, which would of course affect this, but given there are other products available that easily last the whole shave, I had no reason to finish the tub, and have no reason to try this again. The smell is also sub-par compared to other products on here, reminiscent of a hotel bar of soap with a very slight hint of eucalyptus and menthol. My current favorite (earning a repeat brand purchase) is eShave, with St. James of London and Musgo Real being close contenders. Mind you, they are shaving creams, and it is up to you to decide whether something triple the price of Proraso is worth it. If you're going to go all-in with your shave, and have the luxury of time, use a soap, cream, and glycerin. Carefully pour a small amount of very hot water in a shaving mug with a puck or dollop of soap. Swish the water a bit and allow the soap to go into solution. Add another dollop of shaving cream, and a drizzle of glycerin, and whip with your brush to form what is unequivocally the best lather you'll ever experience. A VERY smooth shave achieved with the soap from the green bowl and I can see that it is going to last me a long time so cant really judge fully the full range that I bought. I have tried other shaving soaps but the smoothness and fresh smell of this product is really good. I cant cope with after shaves or any strong scent. The green bowl soap is just right. I like it a lot. Not greasy it does not clog up the razor and also doesn't coat the washing sink with a lot of residue. I bought my tub of Proraso "Red" Shave soap as my first "real" shaving soap. Prior to that I have always used what my dad called "soup can shaving cream." I chose Proraso because from what I have read it has been a tried and true yet inexpensive manufacturer of wet shaving supplies for decades, and I chose the "Red" formula because the description of its scent appealed to me the most out of the standard offerings of "Red," "White," "Blue" and "Green." I found the scent very mild but very pleasing–I only wish the scent was stronger so it might linger longer. The difference in the quality of shave between my previous method of disposable single blade razors and "soup can shaving cream" and my new Muhle R108 and this shaving soap is similar to the difference between using a crowbar and a scalpel for a precision task. I am blown away by the closeness and lack of irritation and am firmly hooked on proper wet shaving. I plan on returning to this product in the future, but in honesty it may be awhile because I look forward to trying out other scents and manufacturers that Fendrihan offers. I fear the "hobby bug" may have bitten me when i wasn't looking, but if so, this product aided and abetted in the assault. The product is fine the advertising value (price) is deceiving. I have a notice that I can get this product for $2.89 and I also had one of your coupons with my CVS card for another $1. I bought this shaving cream to replace my similar Proraso brand cream. The scent of this is very light, in fact barely noticeable which I really like. Smell is pretty much gone after washing off. I find that it lathers substantially better than the Proraso cream which I also prefer. As for the skin sensitive I think its pretty similar to the other product I used but maybe a slight improvement. I have very sensitive skin which tends to get razor burn. I haven't noticed a wild improvement with this cream but perhaps a little. One thing to note is that the Taylor of bond street cream has less of a numbing menthol to it than the Proraso version. If you want your face to have that numbing burning sensation this may not be the cream for you. Overall I like it quite well. I do wish there was a miracle cream that lathered with ridiculous ease, prevented all razor burn, and left your skin feeling invigorated after dragging a sharp blade across it but alas I think that is for dreams. All in all, this is the best shave cream I've ever used (with a preference for low smell and thick lather). I would definitely recommend as an improvement over any of that junk you buy at convenience stores.
it was a gift for my husband, and he couldn't be more happy with quality of this shaving cream. You need a small amount of cream to make a foam, scent is amazing, not too strong. My husband has a very sensitive skin and this cream doesn't irritate his skin at all. I have very sensitive skin, and over 5 years ago I stopped being able to use my usual sensitive skin shaving cream. I tried to replace it, but those were even worse, so after doing some research found some fragrance free conditioners and body washes also used for shaving. This worked for a while, and I appreciated getting rid of aerosols, but they messed up my razor blades and my favorite was discontinued and I couldn't find another that worked as well. Enter one of my favorite go to brands when I can't find anything else. This is great, completely dye and fragrance free. More cream than foam, it's still more shaving cream texture than I'm used to and as I said, I'm glad it's not an aerosol. It could be that I haven't used real shaving cream in a while, but this is amazing. I get a really close shave without the irritation and severe razor burn I've gotten previously (I still get some). It's not huge at 6oz, but I guess for a shaving cream it's not too tiny. I have very fine, light colored hair and while thicker on my legs I can get away with shaving my lower legs 3-4 times a week and upper legs 1-2 times a week (I know I'm sorry, my sister has darker, thicker hair and sometimes has to shave again in the evening if she's going out again and she hates me!) So it's ok that this isn't huge and obviously expecting it to be the size of the body wash I'm used to is unrealistic. Honestly I'm probably saving more because I'm not messing up my razor heads as much. If you're someone who has very sensitive skin this is a great option!

Well made, as advertised. In using it I am comparing it to Gilette Fusion 5 which I've been using for some time. 1. Handle is way slippery when using in shower. Big defect. Needs some kind of rubberized band to help hold it when hands are slippery with Cremo. 2. Difficult to expose the extra back-facing blade when razor is wet and in use. And that little blade doesn't seem to add much to the effect of the regular blades. 3. While the razor pivots up and down, it has almost no side-to-side movement, which is present in the Gillette razor, and helps with angles under chin, etc. Overall a well-made tool that has too many design defects to become my everyday razor.Tony
After attempting to shave with this razor and the Cremo Shave Cream, I have to, sadly, give my experiences very low marks. The balance of the razor is very nice. The handle, however, has almost zero grip and is very slippery if your hands are wet. It took me a lot longer to shave since I needed to re-scrape several times to remove my stubble down to a smooth feel of skin. The "Trim" blade is very cumbersome to open and close, too. If anyone at Cremo is actually reading this, I'd like to return my entire purchase for a Refund! I have gone back to using my trusty old Mach 3 for my facial grooming needs.Billyjoejimbob
The actual razor handle is well finished and feels good to hold. The actual razor blades seems to be the same design as Wilkinson Sword and Schlick razor heads. Difficult to tell if the steel is different or if the lubricant is different between the three brands. They probably come out of the same factory in China! However, the Cremo blades do feel good and it remains to be seen how long they last.Martino

Ive tried dozens. This is THE BEST… not close to the best, but THE ABSOLUTE best aftershave that has ever been invented. It refreshes and soothes. It has a nice tingly feel. It has a lovely aroma, that is light and dissipates quickly so it wont interfere if you want to use a cologne too. It is cooling and bracing, especially if you live in a warm climate. The menthol and eucalyptus smell fantastic WARNING if you are allergic to eucalyptus then you should stay away The witch hazel in it soothes any small nicks you might get in your shave. Some shaving creams tend to make your or, at least, my face feel somewhat greasy or oily later in the day but a postshave application of Proraso completely eliminates that aftereffect, leaving your face smooth but not oily or greasy. Having discovered it, I go through gallons of this stuff. This is an absolutely great after shave lotion. It has a crisp masculine smell and really tones up the skin after a good wet shave. Buying a massive 400ml bottle like the one I have lasts for about 18 months of regular use. It is also only about a third of the cost of buying it in a small 100ml bottle. Less waste of materials and more bang for your buck as they say. This is the best after shave I have ever used. I would also rate the Proraso green shaving cream as the best cream on the market, and pretty inexpensive too. I am very hesitant to purchase products that I havent been able to sample but I took a chance on this product and I am so happy with the outcome. It has a typical eucalyptus sent that has aromatherapeutic qualities, is not too strong, and does not linger. The sensation when splashed on the skin is not an immediate burn but comes on gently and resembles a icy hot type of feel but very pleasant and relaxing. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean and does not have an oily residue. I have somewhat sensitive skin on my neck and it never causes me to have any breakouts. I am in the military and shave every day and I use this product every day, I couldnt be more happy with the results. At 14 I would easily pay twice the priceAlso.. My shaving regime includes Proraso Pre Shave which I rub into my face and leave for at least 5 minutes. I then shower and let hot water wash over my face for 2 or 3 minutes. On exiting the shower I apply neat Proraso Shaving Cream (Shea Butter & Sandalwood) or Cremo Original Shave Cream by hand onto my wet face. I put a little water onto my hands and rub the residue of the shaving cream on my hands into a lather which I rub over the neat shaving cream already on my face. I then shave using an adjustable safety razor which I have set to 4 on a scale of 1 – 6. I have been shaving for more years than I care to remember and this is the closest, smoothest, rash free shave I have ever had. PRORASO is the favorite Italian's barber's pre-shave cream through tree generations. I am 45 and Italian and I can attest how this is SO true lol The "green" normal skin variation smells like old man for me. This "white" sensitive is much much better. It works really well. It not only prepares the skin for shaving, but gives it some moisture and softens the facial hair. Scent is mild (translates green tea and oat). I was so happy few years ago i was finally able to find this in the US! That Christmas I gifted 3 sets with the whole line to my men relatives. Note: this is not a soapy product. I have only recently returned to DE safety razor shaving after many years of cartridge razors. I have not used pre shave creams before so have nothing to compare it with. I've always had sensitive skin & would get neck-rashes for a day or two after shaving, It was horrible if I had to wear a high collar shirt as it would chaff my neck something awful. I used to use regular shaving foam & then a "sensitive skin" after shave balm but it only helped a little bit. Electric razors were even worse. A few years ago I tried this stuff & it made a world of difference! I use it in conjunction with a five blade wet razor & shave butter, The shave butter & the caffeinated after shave saved my neck, literally. Now after I shave I only get a slight skin sensitivity, I can even wear a shirt & tie the same day as I shave without too much discomfort, before I used this it was very uncomfortable to even wear a polo shirt with a collar. I have been using this cream for a few weeks now, I have to say I like it more and more as time goes by. It gives me a very comfortable shave, so much nicer than using the usual creams from the grocery store. I was looking for an unscented shaving cream. This is a good option. It leaves your skin moisturized and it doesn't irritate. However because it's a cream the consistency is greasy and it doesn't lather. I found that using this types of shaving creams is not the best for my oily skin, plus it also clogs my electric shaver and my razor. It you don't mind that then you should give it a try because it's really mild and non irritating. I personally won't buy it again.iHerb Customer

I usually buy this from Saks to take advantage of my Am Ex offer and there are a bunch of one star reviews for this product as well with the same complaint many others on here have. They hate the tube. I loved this shaving cream but am looking for a new product since I hate the tube. The jar is a lot easier if you have issues using your hands and less wasteful. Kiehl's is replying to posts on here indicting the tube is what the consumer wanted. They must have not gotten feedback from any of my friends. And I don't see any of the five-star reviews praising this decision but plenty of one star reviews criticizing it.jamester
I have been using Kiehl's products for a long time with reliable and positive results. This brushless shave cream for my sensitive skin has always worked best with by providing a noticeably smooth shave. Although it's "brushless," I prefer to spread it with my badger shaving brush to assure full and even beard coverage. It truly is a super product.penman
As someone who struggled for years with ingrown hairs and razor burn, I feel inclined to review products when they are exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This product falls into the good side of things. In a nutshell, I wasn't able to shave comfortably until I switched to a safety razor and brush (if you haven't looked into it, please do.# You'll thank yourself once you realize that those silly 5 blade contraptions are a complete waste of money, and using a safety razor will allow you to spend money on quality skin products #like this one# rather than spending 20 bucks for 2 weeks worth of blades. My typical shave goes like this- brush /w good quality cream, aftershave 'lotion' #it's filled with menthol and astringent to close pores and prevent infections# followed by Neutrogena balm. Sounds like a lot, but in reality it's not and it's worth it to not look like a fool with razor bumps. This product seems to basically combine aspects of all three of my usual steps. It has a nice glide to it once lathered, has menthol to help close the pores and tighten skin, and leaves face feeling supple instead of dried. I thought I would never say this, but I could actually ditch the brush and use this stuff daily if I felt so inclined. The one thing that I find odd is the "no water needed" disclaimer…. no clue why they say that. It took about two passes to realize things weren't going to end well. So, what I would say is that rather than going totally dry, just wash your face, rinse, and leave that water on there. Get your hands slightly damp #run them under hot water, shake them out# and then lather- MUCH better. Finally, rinse with COLD water- not hot- and do NOT towel dry your face. The cold water will close your pores, and letting your face air dry #won't take too long# will prevent all of the oils, bacteria, and grime from your towel from getting in your pores #that's what causes irritation.# This stuff IS hard to rinse out, but that's what a quality cream does…. it's not supposed to rinse right off! Some keep the water running, I just fill the sink with hot water and whisk the razor back and forth… seems to work better. Lastly- I would still use an aftershave balm. Helps keeps your face moisturized especially in dry climates and wintertime. Overall, I was really impressed by this- moreso than any other big box can/tube/brushless shaving cream. I will probably buy this for travel rather than lugging along a brush.jl1984

Gives me a good close shave with less burning or cut. Lightweight and easy to maintain and also very convenient to recycle. This razor left my skin feeling very smooth. I have thick, course facial and body hair, so it took me a while to get the perfect shave, but when I finally did, my skin was silky smooth. It is a little hard to hold due to it being small, but it does the job. It doesn't leave any razor burn either, so I can just go about my day with no itching or burning. Firstly I like the colour scheme they have going for this particular product. It's not overpowering bold in your face colours more gentle, relaxing and soothing which to me tries to highlight the sensitive side of the shaving gel. I do prefer men's shaving gels to women's but decided to give it a try especially for its sensitive care claims. It's not a bad shaving gel at all, the fragrance isn't overpowering and it helps my razor to glide over my legs easy not leaving any nicks or cuts and once my legs are shaved they feel smooth and silky to the touch. I appreciate that I don't get a rash either when using this gel and I like how it starts out as a gel and works into a lather. There is minimal waste and the can lasts months for me.Mel5

My shaving regime includes Proraso Pre Shave which I rub into my face and leave for at least 5 minutes. I then shower and let hot water wash over my face for 2 or 3 minutes. On exiting the shower I apply neat Proraso Shaving Cream (Shea Butter & Sandalwood) or Cremo Original Shave Cream by hand onto my wet face. I put a little water onto my hands and rub the residue of the shaving cream on my hands into a lather which I rub over the neat shaving cream already on my face. I then shave using an adjustable safety razor which I have set to 4 on a scale of 1 – 6. I have been shaving for more years than I care to remember and this is the closest, smoothest, rash free shave I have ever had. I'm sure there are many other shaving regimes that work just as well but I've found this is the one that works for me!brian342684
PRORASO is the favorite Italian's barber's pre-shave cream through tree generations. I am 45 and Italian and I can attest how this is SO true lol The "green" normal skin variation smells like old man for me. This "white" sensitive is much much better. It works really well. It not only prepares the skin for shaving, but gives it some moisture and softens the facial hair. Scent is mild (translates green tea and oat). I was so happy few years ago i was finally able to find this in the US! That Christmas I gifted 3 sets with the whole line to my men relatives. Note: this is not a soapy product. I have only recently returned to DE safety razor shaving after many years of cartridge razors. I have not used pre shave creams before so have nothing to compare it with. I think it gives a smoother shave and helps reduce nicks although this may just be because I am getting better at handling a DE razor again. It has a strong scent and gives a mild tingling sensation.
