I have hyperpigmentation along with acne scars so I was excited and curious about using this. I don't love the strong lavender smell it has honestly but after trying it for over a week, I decided it's something I can put up with because I have noticed a improvement with my skin. I have used products from this brand before and been super happy with the results. I wanted a gentler approach for the more sensitive area of my underarms and crease area where legs and trunk meet. Time has not been my friend and discoloration has naturally occurred in particular from shaving. It has been 4 months since I started using Dark Spot. Something really amazing happened. Before I came to America, I lived in another country with less sunlight than here. I bought this product after seeing the spots and blemishes that were there at that time come back with a laser. I was on rx hydroquinone and every vitamin c serum I could find including skinceuticals and everything in between, and nothing worked! I rarely write reviews. But I made an exception for this because this has honestly helped my skin so much! A little backstory: I had achieved fairly clean and clear skin around January of this year. However thanks to two situations at my job, I had a HORRIBLE breakout across my jaw initially and later another one across my forehead. I have always had a hard time picking at scars, so after my breakout cleared up I was left with so many dark post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation scars. I had to cover up so much with concealer and foundation every day. I even got bangs to cover up the scars on my forehead because I hated seeing them in the mirror. Over the months I tried several different products and did see some very slow improvement. I just wanted faster results to get my confidence back! I read online an article that recommended this product and when I saw the price, I ordered it immediately! I've been consistently applying it twice a day since I've received it and I am happy to say that most of my scars are either completely gone or just a very light pinkish color 🙂 I am fair-skinned and have so far only seen improvement on the spots themselves and not the area around it (which had concerned me when using a product with hydroquinone). Brightens discoloration, Smooths texture, and gives your skin a great glow! I’m a licensed esthetician and I’ve tried a lot of the Dark Spot Corrector products out there but this one is a standout. I’ve recommended this to a few of my clients and they all have loved the results. The texture is fantastic, and layers well in a routine with multiple activities and products. I typically use ~4 pumps for my face and neck. You work it into the skin and in seconds it melts and glides into a nice moisturizing feel. Though it has this moisturizing factor I would still suggest using a moisturizer with it to limit any potential irritation- if you like Naturium their Peptide moisturizer pairs fantastically. Use after your serums but can work under or even over your moisturizer if that works for you at night, under your sunscreen obviously during the day. If you’re on tret and are looking for a nice azelaic to enhance your results this is a great option to te st that out with. For tret users, I suggest using this over your tret and under moisturizer. I have used the product almost daily, applying a very small amount each morning and each evening. In total I have used 3 bottles(I think). I began to see improvement after 30 days of use. The reduction in the dark spots has continued each month, to the point that some of them have completely disappeared. To be transparent, I have missed several days of use over the past 7 months. At some points, skipping a full week. The dark spots did not return during those times. I have no way of knowing if the spots will return if I completely stopped using the product. But, at $45 per bottle, and it takes 2-3 months to use a full bottle, I believe I am a user for life. I apply the product using my finger tip directly to the spots and vigorously rub it into my skin until it is somewhat dry. When it dries it leaves a slightly sticky residue initially. But after about 20 minutes it is completely dry and not visibly noticeable. I don’t know exactly what causes our skin to produce these dark spots. But, some readings would suggest that it is liver function dropping off with age. I don’t use the product on days when I plan to be out on the beach, as it is not recommended for use prior to extended direct exposure to harsh sunlight. It is my belief based on my own personal experience that using the product even a few days a month after the spots have been reduced, will keep them from reappearing. I am not a very vain person, but I certainly don’t want to look years older than my actual age. My hair has already turned gray. So, the dark spots were adding years to my appearance. I am very health conscious and I don’t want to harm my skin in any way. I have hyperpigmentation along with acne scars so I was excited and curious about using this. I don't love the strong lavender smell it has honestly but after trying it for over a week, I decided it's something I can put up with because I have noticed a improvement with my skin. I was afraid the scent would irritate my sensitive skin but it didn't. I was skeptical about how moisturizing it would be because of the texture of it and because you apply a thin layer on. I used to to the Palmer's Acne Soap bar, but during pandemic I had trouble getting more. So I tried Neutrogena products (the water based line since I have OILY skin) my skin got WORSE. I had very big breakouts all over my face and neck. It hurt and it was terrible. I ready your skin has to purge when you switch facecare products. I kept looking to see when the acne var would be available again. So in the meantime I got SO many Palmer's products. It give you effective results I have noticed a difference but it takes some time for the results you need to use the whole bottle for results first! It’s not a quick fix. At first I thought I needed to do some sort of facial peel or something to lighten my skin back to its original color, but I bought this cream just to try it out. Maybe this review gonna help to know this product because looks like nobody uses it. That's some info about it : you can choose the one for oily or for normal skin. I am very surprised how good this cream is. Description on the package says- hydroquinone skin bleaching agent for the gradual fading of dark, brownish spots. Ingredients- vitamin E, alpha hydroxy acid, contains also a sunscreen, which is a big plus for me. You will begin to see results in 2 weeks. This works the best if you use it as a spot treatment, so apply a tip on every dark spot on the face or on your body. Bad thing is that hydroquinone may cause a temporary uptick in redness or dryness at first, especially if you have a sensitive skin. To avoid that about 15 min after application I am applying my regular moisturizer on my skin. Also before you start using this cream you might fo a test on your skin. This stuff WORKS. I struggle from pcos. I have many dark spots on my face and neck from tweezing and doing hair removal. Have been using this for 2 weeks and seeing improvements already (I also use Marie France kojic acid soap and kojic acid serum by Naturium). This also works on elbows and knees!
