I originally bought this set for my husband four years ago to encourage him to start taking better care of his skin, and he has been using the face buff and cleanser ever since! I bought this for my boyfriend because I wanted him to learn how to take care of his skin. It was incredibly acne prone, but has settled down significantly over the past few years. Now he has predominantly dry skin, a lot of texture, and an oily nose. I asked if he would try products if I got them for him and he said he would, so off to Ulta we went! We asked my esthetician what she would recommend for his skin concerns and ended up with this because it offers a nice array of products and is a great starter kit. He's new to skin care, so I told him I'd use all the products with him to demonstrate how to properly use them. The minute the face buff went on my face I was hooked! The granules are a decent size, but the formula is gentle enough to not irritate sensitive skin. I love the energizing effect of the menthol and there isn't an overpowering smell. It's very effective and even without a moisturizer it leaves my face feeling smooth, soft, clean, and moisturized! I look forward to using it every time I stay over to the point I'm getting a bottle all to myself! As for the face wash, it was okay but I didn't care for the smell–it's off, almost like it's gone bad but maybe it was just a bad batch. It also doesn't really lather, which is good for dry skin but the formula didn't wow me. It's a pass for me, but maybe there's another face wash from Jack Black that's better. The moisturizer is very light weight and didn't leave a residue, but I think for dry skin it isn't quite moisturising enough and would probably be better suited to oilier skin. Seeing as this was an intro to the brand, it's great for what it is. The lip balm is probably the least used product out of the kit, but it works well as a night treatment. It has a very strong mint smell and flavor, so those sensitive to either of those should probably avoid it. Using the products together as a routine has made a world of difference in his skin! He even told me how much of a difference he's noticed using the products and he's happy with the results. I think we found a great routine and from the looks (and feel) of it, it's something he can stick to. It's been about a month and I can't help but touch his face all the time now! I would definitely recommend this set to anyone, particularly people who are new to skin care or are looking for a great gift for the men in their lives. My package was delivered a day before it was supposed to be here. The products are what matter though am I right? and that's what the part that I'm really here to talk about. As a young adult (18) I am very surprised with this routine and how it effected MY skin. Don't get me wrong this isn't some miracle cream that will take all your blemishes away, but my problem is that I don't really get normal blemishes and everyday pimples, I get cystic acne. Let me tell you it's no fun walking around with a sack of puss on your face that could bust at any moment and have to be drained and drained and drained just to leave scars when you take care of them the best you can. But this routine helps it before it completely developed, when it's developed and when it is in its "recovery" stage of healing from being drained. The simplicity is also an extremely nice factor of this. I would be very excited if the creators of the product might consider a product specifically for cystic acne as that would help me so much! The product I enjoyed most was the scrub, that stuff is literally amazing and will make you wait to wash it off because it feels so damn good.
I’ve never had a “skin care routine” before. But I had begun noticing extremely dry skin around my eyes and lips. Store bought lotions weren’t working. I am absolutely adoring my Hanley products. I have terrible combination skin. It's 100% dry and 1000% oily. Just do the math. I've long had to avoid almost any kind of lotion or sunscreen because it makes my face explode like it caught that cordyceps fungus from the Last of Us. But every single one of Tiége Hanley's products does exactly as advertised. My nose has even lost all of its blackheads! Gross, but awesome. And the products leave my skin feeling great, too. It might sound like I'm going overboard here, but I've been searching for products like these for 35 years. Probably would have done wonders in my 20s, but at least I have them now. Just so no one thinks this is a paid review or anything, the one "area of improvement" I can think of is I wish that the "Wash" face wash lathered. I happened upon this site by chance while searching for aftershave. It was just a couple of months ago, and my "routine" was to brush my teeth in the morning, and at night shower with Irish spring bar soap and whatever shampoo/conditioner was on sale at CVS. I saw the free sample offer, and figured, why not? Browsing the site after ordering a sample kit, I figured I'd use the samples that I cared to, throw out the rest, but it didn't matter because I'd definitely never buy any soaps or moisturizers that were so expensive. I was completely blown away. The first thing that I used was the charcoal face soap, in the morning shortly after waking up. I'd never used a soap that left me feeling so clean, but was so gentle on my face. And the subtle minty coolness-it was invigorating, I felt fully awake and ready to start my day. I always thought that "invigorating face wash" was marketing BS that sounded good, but didn't really mean anything. After that, I went through the samples a bit more seriously, and started using the serums and creams in the morning and at night, and started to notice that my skin looked and felt healthier, which was something that I never paid attention to or cared about. I was pleasantly surprised with how long the tiny sample tubs lasted, too, which put the price point into perspective. The premium price tag is because they are premium products with high quality ingredients that work very well in small amounts. I made sure to place my first real order soon enough that I wouldn't run out of anything and break my new routine. Fast forward to today, I started my day by washing my face with charcoal face wash, followed by spritzing with toner, an application of day serum, and moisturized with eye balm and resurfacing cream. After a long, hot day of work in the kitchen, I showered with the all-purpose hair and body wash, after getting out, another spritz of toner, used the renewing face scrub before shaving- I haven't tried Brickell shave oil or cream yet, those are next-followed by your aftershave. Before bed, another round of charcoal soap, night serum, eye balm, and revitalizing cream. This has gotten a bit long, but I wanted to use the review of this routine to mention how much I love all of these Brickell products. I'm so pleasantly surprised, I had absolutely zero intention to ever purchase anythjng, and didn't give even the tiniest…heck…about skin care. But my skin just feels healthy and happy, I feel cleaner, I'm really blown away as someone who never considered a "routine". I’ve always been a big believer in Prevention is the best for of treatment. I broke out insanely, like never before. So i started to search for face washes, moisturizers, etc. at first i found harry’s..loved it..used an aveeno face moisturizer with the best reviews on amazon and considered number 1..hated the smell & it irritated my eyes..go figure it seemed to have some weird gold flakes or sparkles lol screw that. It was decent though, gotta give credit where its due. I wasn’t completely satisfied, with the moisturizer at least. Harry’s body wash stopped my body breakouts it was great. Then i remembered using brickells clarifying gel face wash. I think during that time was when my face was the clearest and nicest…so i did my research on amazon, but saw a review about a sample..decided to order. WOW. Not a single breakout from mostly using face wash and moisturizer twice a day as they recommend. No oily skin, no acne, dark spots going away, nice dry feel but my face looks good. I like to keep it simple. So i went with the face care routine. Turns out clarifying gel dried my skin…so it wasn’t for me now. I now use the purifying charcoal face wash with the moisturizer. All i need. You get what you pay for guys. Also i doubt these things only last 2 months haha. You need the tiniest amount of moisturizer. The face wash super liquid but you don’t need much either. I have noticed a steady improvement in men's skincare over the last several years and I have to say your products are right up there with some of the best I have used. I turn 52 this year and although look younger I'm vain and want to keep it that way as long as I can…lol! I started with this trio and have recently ordered an additional face wash and added the face scrub this time to give it a try along with the charcoal body bar and the free sample kit to try out some other products in your line. The face wash is absolutely a five star. Great lather, great fragrance, and a little goes a long way. Clean feel and most importantly truly clean skin and I'm talking up close. Pores are debris free and way less inflammation than I've gotten from some other cleansers. The only reason I'm ordering so soon is because my husband has commendered it and it's going a little faster. The one thing I am most picky about with skincare is a moisturizer and this one is perfect. I have oily/combination skin and live in a humid climate about 4-5 months out of the year and this stuff isn't heavy at all, absorbs nicely and does what I need it to do and gives a really nice matte finish to my skin. A little goes a long way, like seriously less than a dime size does my whole face and neck. The toner is lighter in fragrance which I am fine with and doesn't dry my skin out or make it feel tight but works for controlling oil and getting rid of razor burn. How did you do that? : ) This was a great way to start using your products or if someone is looking to just use a small and simple 3 step skincare system. I also purchased the mask and let me tell you a little goes a long way. It took a couple of times to get the application right but I'm all good now! Looking forward to adding in a few additional products and doubt very much that I'll be disappointed. Also, your turnaround time from order to shipping to receiving is the fastest I have ever seen. I'm a full-time teacher, full-time graduate student, and a parent, so I never really get enough sleep. Needless to say, over the last few years I have developed some bags under my eyes. I've never really had a skin care routine other than showering and washing my face, so I was a little skeptical that the product would do anything. I have no experience with any of this type of stuff since I grew up as a somewhat of a country boy, and that's not something that often happens in that community. Fast forward to me getting this stuff, I followed the instructions and used it twice a day. I was still pretty skeptical about it all, but after 2 days, my wife said she thought that the bags under my eyes were much less noticeable. After 4 days, I really think that the skin under my eyes looked tighter, and the bags were even smaller. I now really do believe that this stuff makes a difference. The only drawback to me would be the price-tag, but I don't even think that is a huge drawback. It's a little more pricey than I would normally like to spend for a little bottle, but a little goes a very long way. Let's face it, there's hundreds, if not thousands of skincare brands out there. Thanks to lack of regulations, you can pretty much formulate anything and pay extra if other people are buying it. There's even TV commercials for products branded "superfoods" (literally a marketing term) and "probiotics" (they are suppose to go in your gut first off, second it's debated they even work). So when I see Lab Series make no headlines about 1. Clinical trials 2. Over use of term "antioxidant" (another misnomer) 3. No use of term "proven," I start to listen! So if the other guys do that but Lab Series doesn't, why do they have a strong cult-like following? I don't have the answer for this, but I can tell you using the Max LS system Daily for 8 months now has left me with visible improvements to 1. Tonality 2. Definition of cheek and jawlines 3. Reduced breakouts to name the most significant. This product first off, is a toner (I wish they would get rid of "moisturizer," but hey have to market to us guys, right!) It's intended to remove excess skin cells and balance your skins pH. It's very important to use a toner formulated and labeled for men. If it's not labeled that assume it's formulated for women because we actually have different average pH levels in our skin! So use this in conjunction with your serums & moisturizers. It seems that I will have more than enough of the anti aging and eye cream to go past the advertised 60 day supply. I can't really tell with the serum products. I know it's men's skincare but I wanted to try it anyway . I actually really enjoyed using them ! Men's skincare targets the same thing that women's skincare does. Everything absorbed beautifully and was very hydrating and moisturizing. Nothing felt heavy or oily and there was no film or residues left. I have written you before regarding the ongoing deterioration in your customer service and your new (and unsatisfactory) products. Nothing has changed. I have received unsatisfactory answers from your "customer service" team. Now, with this last purchase, I think unfortunately I'm done with Brickell. Which is sad, because some of your products (the daily moisturizer, the evening anti-aging routine) are excellent. But considering the high cost, and the frankly lousy customer service, I'm pretty much done. A recap of multiple previous conversations – this has been a steady deterioration in customer service and sometimes, product quality, over the past 18 months or so. All of these issues are known to your people, if you care to follow up: 1. A series of mislabeled products! I received packets of "daily serum" that were NOT the scented daily serum at all – they were some sort of brown unscented product (?) which had clearly been mislabeled. I also received packets of the eye cream that were not the white, thick unscented product I've used, but some sort of runny beige oddly scented product. I threw them away. Clearly the quality control was lacking that order. 2. The sunscreen daily moisturizer was a bad product. Unlike your regular daily moisturizer which I loved, it didn't absorb well at all. It is a thick oddly shiny white paste reminiscent of the old zinc oxide sunscreens lifeguards used at the beach 40 years ago. It also hardens in the dispenser, meaning that when you use it you get a handful of gritty flakes on top of the product! When I mentioned this to customer service I got a ridiculous reply of "well its a fully natural product unlike other sunscreens" – NO, that's not a satisfactory answer. I didn't buy "other sunscreens" I bought a Brickell product – it was LOUSY – and I didn't receive anything but a self-satisfied email. No refund offer, no replacement…just a "well we think its a good product". 3. Finally, the lack of samples with my last order. Again, the fact that you decided to stop your sample program without warning is questionable. That the website continues to offer samples when you don't give them is dishonest. And your customer service regarding this issue – two emails to me saying "Yah, its too bad we stopped giving out samples" with again, no discount or complimentary product – was exceptionally poor. You are following a pattern of a company that has lost interest in its customers and products, and is headed to extinction. It is too bad because I was a loyal customer.Philip P.

The only down side was that his sensitive skin showed minor signs of irritation — thinking that even though he liked the fragrance, the drag stance didn’t like him! EMJ has become my “go-to” brand for anything important to face and body care products. I love how they work and how they smell. Not over the top like some products. Short version: Y’OUR is the holy grail skincare set. But if you have doubts or feel at a loss for trying yet another product… here’s my story that might convince you this is worth a shot. My serious acne didn’t start until college, and since then, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the products that would combat consistent breakouts. I researched. I wept. I fretted that I’d never have clear skin since the only cause that made sense was my IUD, and I didn’t want to have to sacrifice birth control for my skin. My self-esteem was nonexistent by the time I found out about Y’OUR – and that changed after about three weeks of using the products. It’s a beautifully bottled miracle. My skin’s default setting is now clear, with the occasional zit here or there, and these now never last long. Here are a couple of things worth knowing before you try: The cleanser feels like a gel so you won’t necessarily notice its exfoliation properties, but it works like a ninja deep-scrubbing all the dirt from your pores. One of my primary concerns was dry skin, and in the first weeks of use, the skin around my nose felt redder and flakier. I panicked and emailed customer service, but she (promptly!) told me not to worry, that it was just the first phase of my skin being properly exfoliated, and that it should clear up within a couple of weeks. She was right! No more dryness, no more redness. From those initial flakes rose healthy, smooth skin that had been waiting there all along. I was already at the point of crying dealing with an unruly breakout that was becoming more severe each week.
