Best Skincare Brands For Oily Skin (2023 Update)

Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. I think this is something I’ll end up repurchasing as I like the amount you get is quite decent plus the price point is good. I like that it’s in a squeeze tube more than a pump too!stephanie.v

First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s

I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. Many of my products already contain the same actives – ceramides, niacinamide, etc. That, plus not being super impressed by the hydration, I would pass on this productjaydalyn.k

I haven't reviewed anything on here yet, but this product really seems worth a review. I have an annoying combination skin that both gets dry/flaky AND oily/shiny. This moisturizers works like a charm, giving my skin hydration and controlling shine on my nose. I have no idea how they formulate this product to achieve this monumental task, but they somehow managed to do it. I used to be able to only control the shine on my nose by putting on powder, but with this moisturizer, I don't even need to put on any powder, and my nose still does not get excessively shiny. I highly recommend this for anyone who is struggling with shiny skin due to oil. Also, I noticed that, in the winter, when the air is particularly dry, this moisturizer doesn't give quite enough moisture, so now I complement it with the FAB Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration at night. That gives my skin the extra moisture at night, and then I use this product in the morning. Together, they give my skin enough hydration in the winter while still controlling the shine. I know I sound like some sort of paid spokesperson, but this is just me being excited about a line of products that actually works for my skin.Luce

I'm really enjoying this product. It does what it says, moisturizes while controlling oil. My skin gets even more oily when I'm not wearing makeup and I hate the way it feels. I can go a day without makeup with this product and it's really nice. It definitely provides a light moisture too. I get dryness around my eyes and mouth and nose. If you let this fully dry before applying makeup, you'll be fine. Primer is a key factor as well. I use a the smash box matte primer. If you need more moisturizer, just use a moisturizing primer for dry areas and you'll be good. Worth a try.MR

I have an extremely oily complexion and never thought i could keep my oil under control throughout the day while also keeping my skin hydrated until i tried this moisturizer. For reference, without this moisturizer my skin turns into a grease bucket after 15 minutes of washing and this moisturizer makes my complexion look completely normal for about 4-8 hours depending on my skin that day. Once my face starts to build up a bit of oil after many hours, i can just pat it off and be good for another couple hours before patting any oil off again. Lasts a full days wear. I also find when i dont use this moisturizer my acne and blackheads start coming out and also my pores become bigger without it, showing just how much it actually helps my acne/blackhead prone and large pored-skin. I hope they never discontinue this moisturizer otherwise i will never be able to make my skin complexion look as normal as this makes it throughout the day. Also this is also super moisturizing for my skin surprisingly and i never dry out from it. The product actually does exactly what it says it does which is control oil and moisturize which is rare for a product to really live up to all of its claims. I see reviews here that say it’s too drying and give a bad review for the rating to go down, which frustrates me because it’s really meant for moderately oily to extremely oily skin so of course it will be drying to less oily skin because it isnt meant for it. It’s amazing for my extreme skin type and i have yet to find another like it. 1000% recommend.PearlPanda

My skin used to be much more acne prone than it is now but even in my late 30's, I still experience blackheads and breakouts. Ugh! I also have combination skin – oily in some areas, dry in others – so finding that perfect product that doesn't leave my skin looking shiny or flaky can be tricky. The Vichy Laboratories Normaderm PhytoAction Acne Control Daily Moisturizer is a lightweight formula that doesn't leave my skin feeling heavy or coated. I have been using this for around a month and have noticed some results. Granted, my skin isn't in really bad shape like it used to be but I do have some blemishes and also some minor blackheads around my nose area. When used in combination with the Vichy Laboratories Normaderm PhytoAction Acne Control Daily Deep Cleansing Gel, my problem areas have pretty much vanished. No more blemishes, no more blackheads (which is HUGE), and my pores appear to be considerably smaller. I was getting frustrated at first because I didn't see results for awhile. So, keep trying! The moisturizer is easy to dispense and goes on smoothly. A little really goes a long way. My skin is left feeling soft, silky, and smooth, NOT greasy. Overall, I was quite impressed with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone that is dealing with pesky acne breakouts and blackheads!sunnyinNC

I do not have an acne problem now but I do have this product just in case they decide to be back 😁 I was using it before so I decided to put a review. Suitable for adult acne. Without fragrances, oil, parabens and alkohol. It's more like a gel with some scent. If you have combo acne prone skin this is definitely for you. Does not cause breakouts. Give it at least week to see the results. It's really working. Not drying the skin as alotta anti acne product does. Moisturize skin well without being oily. Can be use under makeup too.agnieszka.r

I had been looking for a good moisturizer for oily skin that I could put on and not realize it's there. Every other "light weight" moisturizer felt good when I first put it on and then an hour or so later, my face felt like an oil slick covered with velvet. But this moisturizer is nothing like that! A little goes a long way, it absorbs instantly and is incredibly light weight. This moisturizer does not feel greasy at all and I actually forget I put it on. I can already see improvements from the moisturizer which was a nice surprise. I only use it every other day so far and at this point, I don't see the need to apply it every single day. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone with true oily skin that wants a lightweight moisturizer.Courtney

This cleanser is really good. There are lots of comments in regard to the new formula being worse than the old, which has NOT been my experience. ( it’s just a cleanser list of ingredients! ). This gentle foaming cleanser defends against 5 signs of skin barrier, dryness, irritation, roughness, and tightness. It’s not harsh on my skin at all. I massage the product into my ski for 60 seconds then rinse and follow the rest of my daily routine. This product goes on light and smooth and leaves my skin feeling fresh and healthy. I don’t care for the smell though, hence I less the star rating. What I love about this cleanser it is effective, but gentle without stripping or leaving my skin feeling dry. The original formula left my skin feeling dry. I’m so happy they improved the formula with glycerine because my skin feels refreshed and moisturized! First off, I’m an esthetician so I’m a bit of a skin care snob. Things that I do love about this cleanser is that the company reworked the formula and took out the parabens and all of the harmful ingredients that it use to use. The cleanser is definitely gentle and good for sensitive skin. But it doesn’t have any actual active ingredients that would help with acne. So if your expecting it to cure any acne. It won’t. It would be best if used as a pre-cleanse before an active cleanser or if your on a medication that prevents you from using active ingredients. It doesn’t even fully remove my foundation and I don’t use a heavy foundation.jeana.w

This is one of my top favorites for cleansing. A dermatologist recommended it to me years ago. It’s effective yet gentle enough for sensitive skin. Removes makeup well too. No breakouts or irritation! I mainly use this when I’m having a bad hormonal acne flare up or if my skin is just being extra picky. Keeps things clean without stripping oils or your natural barrier, doesn’t dehydrate, and helps to soothe/heal. Recommend if you’re having trouble finding a daily face wash for acne prone and sensitive skin! Love that it lasts forever, is affordable, and the pump is a nice feature.becca.m

My oily skin looks perfect after using it, and it’s stays the same for entire day. It’s very gentle and do not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin.I’ve been using this for over 5 years or so and I can tell it’s irreplaceable. The best drugstore moisturizer ever. I am 24 years old and I always have rashes on one cheek, especially before menstruation. I accidentally bought this cream in a pharmacy and used it in the morning and at night. I am very surprised that the cream coped with the rashes in two weeks and now I have only traces left! This is just a super cream for the last 3 years! (I tried this brand before about 5 years ago, and it didn’t help me, maybe another cream). I advise everyone! I started using this during first covid lockdown. Initially I completely stopped wearing any makeup and my skin became really sensitive, dry and sore. I tried different moisturisers but couldn't find the right solution. Then I found this. Oh. My. Days. This was kind to my sensitive skin, didn't sting or look blotchy at all. It actually cleared up the dry and sore spots and evened my skin. My skin has never felt healthier. Plus it gives a light colour and good coverage without the feel of heavy foundation. I bought this after reading lots of other reviews, so I hope mine will help. I have sebaceous issues and a tendency towards clogged pores, plus dry skin patches and the occasional spot. And very sensitive skin! Whilst this cream has not miraculously unclogged my pores, without doubt it has gradually, by the end of this first tube, made an overall difference to the tone of my skin – it kind of looks more even and less blotchy, and it feels softer and far less dry. After the first few days of use the top of my nose went really dry and I was a bit dismayed, but I persisted and a few days later the dryness vanished. Most significantly for me, I have always had a very dry, redish and slightly flaky patch along one cheek parallel to my nose, which can go even more flaky when I add make-up. Much to my surprise, this patch has now completely gone – really, honestly, no sign of it at all, and no sign of flaky, dry areas when I add make-up (it’s a great, non-greasy base for foundation). I wasn’t expecting that to completely vanish! I do think my chin is not getting quite as clogged as it was with an oilier-based cream, and although I have still had one or two spots, they’ve been very minor. I’ve not been using it round my eyes – I think I read not to use it on your eye orbits on their website – so I just use my usual Boots face cream there. I’ve had no sensitivity issues, so I’ve not had to abandon it owing to itchy skin. One tube of Effaclar Duo has lasted around seven weeks, using mornings under make-up and each night before bed. I’m just at the final stage where you cut the tube in half to scrape out the last bit before starting a new one. I am *very* pleased with this face cream and I will deffo stay with it now. It’s reasonably affordable, you get a fairly large tube of it, and it works well! It significantly reduces the size of the pimples when applied on its first treatment… it however does dry out your skin a bit, but if you add in some extra hydration it’s great! But not only does it help reduce the size of the pimples over time to completely eliminating them .. it also significantly reduces the scaring from them (which is great since I like to pick things even tho I know I shouldn’t 🙈) it absorbs quick and you can’t really feel it on your skin like some other spot treatments. It not only contains salicylic acid for the acne treatment and exfoliation but it also contains niacinamide to help soothe irritation and help with controlling sebum production and if that isn’t enough it contains a prebiotic to help repair the damaged skin barrier! I use this in conjunction with my foreo espada blue light acne treatment and these products together work quick!! And sooooo well!!!marla.m

I heard a lot about this Bioderma product over the years, have used some other products from the range and liked them, but never had a chance to test it out myself so I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the Marie Claire box. I have a combination skin and my favourite face cream/treatment is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + and I love it to such an extent that it would be my only desert Island item. Therefore, my expectations were high.\nI must say I was a fan of a lightweight formula, somewhat lotion like. It has a delicate scent, very pleasant and subtle. The cream spreads like a dream on the skin and is absorbed in seconds. It does give a smooth and matte finish, I didn't detect any nasty film either. The skin fels soft and looks mattified. Pores might look a little less visible but I am a sceptic when I read that something will refine my pores… it might fill them in so they look less prominent, but I do not really believe in magic. \nWhat I noticed though is that Bioderma Pore Refiner does keep the skin matte for longer ( compared to a regular moisturiser). A definite plus is a fact that it does seem to refine the skin texture, it does smooth out the skin and it doesn't clog the pores ( I know, it should be self evident but believe me or not I have used anti acne products that cause acne).\nMy problem with this product is that I m not exactly sure whether it is a kind of a moisturiser, a treatment or just a kind of primer. When used on its own I saw the best results, and in my opinion it is good to use it at night but then we do not really need the mattifying effect.\nWhen used with other products I am not sure when to apply it / before or after a moisturiser, before or after an spf? It also might cause a bit of a trouble as it doesn't agree with some make up primers and foundations. In that case, I just didn't use any primer, treated Pore refiner as one and opted for a compatible foundation.\nAll in all, I think I get the idea of this product, I think it works pretty well but there are some little disadvantages that make me stay faithful to Effaclar Duo + making the Bioderma affair only temporary.\nAnita R.

I was blessed enough to be given the Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner by Home Tester Club for my honest review. This is an Amazing product that has completely transformed my my entire face, and especially my T-zone. I have suffered from very large pores and blackheads on my oily nose and chin my entire life. This is by far the BEST Pore Refining Product I have ever used. My pores are so small I now have the confidence to go out without makeup. When I did put on my makeup my face was so soft, smooth and improved my foundation blended so easily my face was flawless . It is a "Must Have" to add to your skincare routine if you have any of these issues: blackheads, large pores, acne and/or oily skin. The results are amazing and I had no irritation to it whatsoever. I highly recommend and will definitely be adding this to my skincare regimen permanently. If you are unsure of whether or not to purchase this, go ahead. You will be so glad you did.Willow1936

I was lucky enough to score a sample of #Biodermaporerefiner with one of the boxes I received from #Pinchme. Yes! I can say all that positive stuff about it now but. .. seeing that I don't normally use this type of product, nor did I believe it would actually show signs of having any effectiveness to improve whatever imperfection it was made for. Throughout my many years of experience, trying every new miracle product that came out over the last 4 decades, I found that most of the products that are the type to have all the different individual treatments for every specific need, are the ones that really don't work that great so they try to make their money by getting ppl to try several different types of treatments on the first sale. I always, swore by how strongly I personally felt that all you really needed is a good washing technique with a gentle cleanser, exfoliate once or twice a week, avoid too much sun, eat healthy and use one really good moisturizer at night as a daily routine. .So, I bet you can probably guess how stupid this "old miss thinks I know it all" feels now😂 Yes! I ended up being quite shocked when Bioderma proved me wrong after all these yrs lol. Having a very pale complexion, you see every imperfection on my skin, my pores stand out almost as bad as my freckles. From the very first time, just mins after applying Bioderma, I could see a noticeable difference. Each day I used it my pores appeared smaller until they were barely noticeable at all (even when I was purposely looking for them in a magnifying mirror). It also seemed to get rid of my most recent issue of being disfigured looking from having an outbreak of reversed puberty (thank you!!!) Seriously!?!? Come on now!!! This Ain't Even right !! Why in the world am I getting zits now that I'm in my Golden Years when I've never had any problems with them. before, not even in my teenie bopper years! As a licensed esthetician, my daily beauty routine is important to me. Keeping my skin as clear and healthy as possible is a passion for me. I will receive a free full-sized Silymarin CF for posting this review. I'm in my fifties and have had sensitive acne prone skin since I was 12 yrs old. Based on a sample I received from LovelySkin, I been using SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF for about 2 months and the jury is still out on if my skin is benefitting from it. Since receiving the sample, I've purchased the full size- I know these things take time. Since my skin is sensitive I need to use it minimally to avoid irritation but unfortunately the pipette is designed to drop a very large volume of expensive product. I hope SkinCeuticals considers changing this. I actually poured the full size product into the sample container (which included a small better designed pipette) for better control. No one likes to pour their premium serum and money down the drain.LB

I purchased Silymarin CF Vitamin C serum when I was struggling with unprecedented acne due to layers of dry skin. I had been using an acne cleanser that was too drying for my skin. I didn't realize that I was the cause of the problem as I never really had acne. My skin looked like hormonal teenage skin. I did some research on what to use. I decided to go with SkinCeuticals brand as I have been a SC customer for a few years. The serum did a fantastic job! It was able to gradually slough the skin, bring the acne to the surface and heal the damage. It took time, about 2 months but that seemed quick considering how long I had been struggling with the acne. During that time I was using the serum every evening, which may be too strong for some people. But I covered it with another SC cream to combat potential drying. Now that my skin is smooth and acne free I have cut back and only use the serum a couple times a week for maintenance. My skin hasn't looked this smooth and bright in years. Whether you use every night or a couple times a week you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend the Silymarin CF Vitamin C serum.ktb1991

LOVE this vitamin C for acne prone skin. I have repurchased 3+ times. This product leaves my skin so dewy and glowy. I love the way it feels after applied. I personally apply to slightly damp skin for higher absorption. I use about 6 drops per morning – 2 drops per check, 1 drop forehead, 1 drop neck and this bottle lasts 2 months. I also feel this has helped with my hormonal chin acne. My skin type – early 30s; acne prone. Prefers a dewy natural glow. Considers myself very into skincare. Sees a derm 2x a year and an esthetician every other month. TLDR – yes, it's pricey, but lasts a long time, feels incredible, leaves skin dewy and glowy.Noreen

Moisturizer prefs are personal and the characteristics of this one are different enough so that it stood out to me amongst the dozens sent in my Birchbox subscription. In fact this is the only one I ended up buying. Like someone else said, this smells like tea tree oil so if you don't like that scent…. To me, it smells fresh and clean but dissipates properly. I like the gel-like consistency and light weight, it was the differentiator for me. Keep in mind, that means your skin soaks up more of it; the pea-sized dosage recommendation for high end, denser facial moisturizers doesn't apply to this one. I use 5x that. That's not a big deal, IMO, by weight it's cheaper than some Oil of Olay. My only beef is the packaging. The shipping box was all paper so that's great, but the product container is completely unrecyclable. I'd pay more for glass bottle with no throw away pump. Kiehl's is owned by some massive company so that should mean it'd be super easy, bc plenty of bottles to repurpose.Adam W

Still undecided on this one. While it does decrease the amount of oil shine during the day when it counts the most, in the evening it's almost like my skin releases all the oil that was being held back during the day and I look and feel greasier than I did before. So for me at least, yes, it eliminates oil, but not for anywhere remotely close to 24 hours. Eight to ten hours, sure. The scent isn't offensive and doesn't linger on me, but I'd strongly prefer something unscented.BMcS

I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this product. I have always, and I mean always, had a huge problem with oily skin around my t-zone. However the rest of my skin has a dryness issue, so clearly I need to use a moisturizer. So I've always felt that the moisturizers I have used have increased the oiliness around my t-zone and made shininess a bit worse. This product is really amazing, I use it every day (with a heavier moisturizing cream at night) and I always have just enough skin hydration without greasiness. Now I will add one problem I've had while using the product- I work in a restaurant, so obviously there will be some grease in the air. After a long time working (i.e. running around frequently and always being on the go, not to mention the condition of the air in a steakhouse kitchen) I will occasionally still have SOME greasiness in my t-zone. However, I don't fault the product for this as I feel that the circumstances are somewhat unusual. The only reason I mention this issue at all is because you can't expect this product to work miracles, I certainly don't. But it DEFINITELY works better than any other moisturizer I have used before; nothing has met my needs as well.Seth

This cleanser is nice and does leave my face feeling clean, but I don't like it as much as my Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil, followed by my rice enzyme powder. I have used this cleanser for the past two weeks and while I adore Lancer's polish and will continue to use it when I need extra exfoliation, I feel that this cleanser is too heavily fragranced for my sensitive, combination skin. It doesn't take off my makeup as well as my Tatcha cleansing steps and my face doesn't feel as cleansed and clean as when i use my two step Tatcha cleansing process. I could see using this while on holiday to have less products to bring with me and it didn't break me out or anything. But if isn't a holy grail product in my experience. I have been using good skincare products for over fifteen years and I have tried a lot over the years. This is definitely a solid product, but it isn't the best on the market. This is a great cleanser for normal-combination skin. It doesn’t strip your skin but it gives you a thorough cleanse. The reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it’s a little basic if I’m being completely honest. For the price point I don’t feel like it sets the bar very high. How did I not know about this product before! I am nearly 39 and wish I had this in my life much sooner. Have been using for a couple of weeks and I am so impressed. I have quite oily skin that starts to look oily very quickly after cleansing and moisturising etc, but this keeps me oil free all day! It does work better if I don't wear make-up, if I put foundation or powder on then it's performance time is a little shorter, but regardless its the best moisturiser I have come across for controlling oil. I can even put this over the top of another moisturiser that makes me shiny (if I need a bit more hydration) and it takes the shine away and it still works all day. I also have sensitive skin and this doesn't cause any reaction or redness. Don't ever discontinue this product clinique, I'd be devastatedKezlou

I have oily skin and would start shining after couple of hours of applying any face cream. Other products always make me feel like I have something heavy on my face and my skin cannot breathe under them so my pores would look even larger. But this product has been amazing for my face! I have ridiculously oily skin. I’m talking about so-oily-you could cook-with-the-amount-of-oil-on-my-face, and it really didn’t do anything to keep the oil away. The Southern California humidity isn’t as bad as in some other places, but still. I’m pretty bummed because Caudalie usually has some pretty good products and I’m always looking for ways to mattify my skin. It also took me a while to figure out the best way to put this on. Upon application, I loved how lightweight it felt and how quickly it absorbed and didn’t leave a sticky feeling. However, one should never leave the house without SPF, so I experimented with ways to add this to my routine. No matter if I mixed this with my SPF or if I applied this first and then the SPF, my skin would still look and feel not quite oily, but not very matte. Bummer, right? It does have a nice, clean scent to it. I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard Vinopure line scent. It might be a big strong for those who are sensitive to scents, though. All in all, it was pretty underwhelming in terms of oil control, but it still felt nice as a moisturizer. I wouldn’t say it’s now my go-to. I’ll continue using it until I run out, but I won’t purchase it. #freeproducttrywithtopbox

I have combination skin that can get very oily during the warm, humid summer months. As a result, It can be a struggle finding a moisturizer that is lightweight enough for me to wear during the day while still hydrating my skin. The vinopure oil-control moisturizer did a wonderful job of this and was even great when worn under makeup! I frequently have issues of my foundation breaking up after a few hours of wear if I use skincare before application, but this product didn't have that effect. It was lightly hydrating, enough that my skin felt smooth and plump, and it absorbed very quickly which i appreciated. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that this product is fragrance-free since it does have a light scent to it but fragrances can be irritating to my skin. I also love that is comes in a tube! it may not feel as luxe as a pretty glass jar but it is far more hygienic and easier to use. I received a free sample of Caudalie's Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin from Topbox Circle. Receiving a #freeproduct did NOT cause me to leave a positive review. I actually DO have oily, blemish prone skin. Normally I can't wear makeup or BB cream for more than an hour before my oily skin causes the makeup/BB cream to break up, look blotchy and patchy, and just overall terrible…. No matter what I apply to my face beforehand. The best mattifying primers and setting powders are just no match for my oily skin. The photo with the blue wall in the background is the "before" photo. I had just taken a shower and dried my hair. No product applied to my face at all, and you can already see my face is starting to look oily. In the other photo, several hours later, the only products I've used all day are the Vinopure Oil-Control Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin, Purlisse BB cream, and mascara. No primer, no touch ups or oil blotting sheets, no setting powder, no nothin. My face looks a little shiny but honestly it looks so much better than normal. My makeup isn't sliding off my face! Ive been using this moisturizer after showering in the morning, and after washing my face at night. It doesn't feel greasy at all and hasn't caused any new breakouts for me. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is because I find the scent totally repulsive… Thankfully the scent doesn't last long. If you're on the fence I think it's worth a try.lisatron138

I wanted to use this for a couple weeks before writing a review. I am obsessed with oils, but unfortunately a lot of them lead to breakouts on me except for a select few if I only use them at night after the rest of my skincare. This one intrigued me because it is mostly cold pressed seed oils which are molecularly smaller and easier to absorb. I apply 2 drops over my moisturizer (ole henriksen strength trainer) in the morning and my makeup applies beautifully over it. I apply 3 drops at night over the same moisturizer and my skin loves this stuff. It absorbs more than any oil I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t absorb entirely, there’s still a bit that stays dewy and glowy, but not a complete oil slick like others that just sit on top and never soak in. It had made my skin SO soft and smooth and cleared any active breakouts. My skin was breaking out a bit when I first started using it, but my period was coming and was the real culprit. Because after my period, my skin cleared right up and I’ve been using this oil consistently day and night all the way through. I think I’ve finally found the right oil blend for my skin. I have dry skin with occasional hormonal breakouts. I’ve tried Sunday Riley (Luna, Juno, CEO), Fresh, Josie Maran, Clarins, dermalogica, korres, etc. If there’s a face oil in the line, I’ve used it! This one takes the cake. I’ve been wanting to try the True Botanicals Renew radiance oil, but this one is more than half the cost and works phenomenally. So give it a try! Fantastic added moisture in the winter! I add a couple of drops to my face right before I rub my moisturizer on. My skin feels particularly velvety and hydrated, giving my moisturizer that little extra kick when its super dry out. I haven't noticed any kind of break outs or reaction to this product, and I have a tendency to have pretty sensitive skin around my chin and cheeks. I'm interested to see if this is still the case in the warmer months. There is a kind of earthy oil smell when first applying but it goes away near immediately once it has soaked in. I don't find it unpleasant even when I do smell it. Pretty stoked to keep using this product, my skin so far seems to love it.Spookytama

I received a sample of a face oil from a different line and, while it did turn me on to oils, I thought I could find something better. This oil does an amazing job of locking in hydrating, subtly primping, and adding a dewy glow. My skin can be acne prone at times, but I haven’t had any blemishes due to this product. Compared to DE’s oil, the Summer Friday oil has a thicker consistency, but I feel it absorbs better than the thinner DE product. Compared to Saint Jane’s face oil, this SF oil doesn’t seem to calm and even skin tone quite as well, but the texture, hydration, plumping, not to mention the price tag, makes this a clear winner between the two. As the last step in my nighttime routine, I warm a few drops of oil and press it into my skin. I’ve tried so many sunscreens geared towards oily skin. Most of them either work for an hour or 2, tops or they look completely gray. This the only spf that TRULY keeps me matte throughout the day. This formula does have a gray cast, but give it 5 minutes and it does fade. I’m a chocolate-colored girl and the cast usually mostly fades by the time I’m ready to leave the house. I was not prepared for the true matte this product provides. Most oil control products last maybe half a day at most. However, ShineBlock lasts all day. I applied it before applying my makeup primer and the results were amazing. I also love that I am shine-free throughout the day. I don't have to blot as often. Since I have been using this product, I have noticed one con. When I first apply it I can see a white haze on my face. It reminds me of the matte primer. The haze is gone within minutes. So far, I have not noticed any residue left behind. I plan to add this product to my daily routine.Shearil M.

This is not a terrible mineral sunscreen, considering the amount of zinc in it it does pretty well. However, my skin tone is very dark and it left a noticeable white cast. I applied in three layers so that it could blend out better, it was very mattifying without being drying but was a bit hard for the texture of it to blend out on the skin. Still, after applying the adequate amount about three fingers worth it and waiting 15 min for it to settle in it still left a white cast. This product has been an absolute godsend! Because it is an exfoliant, it has helped my skin purge all its impurities and gives me such a lovely glow. I appreciate how it does not contain alcohol. I use it once every other day, since I have sensitive skin, and I can tell that it makes a difference. My makeup application has gone on smoother since this product has taken care of skin/product buildup on my face. I have combination skin, and I find that it doesn’t dry out the parts of my skin that tends to be dryer than my t-zone. I bought this because I've been through a few bottles of the Paula's Choice 2% BHA and wanted to find something same-same-but-different. So far, I strongly prefer this!! My least favorite thing about the PC product is how much of a residue there is, I'd compare the feeling to that of a body dry oil. It's so present that my normal-dry skin can forgo moisturizer afterwards in the summertime. The Farmacy product is just like a standard watery toner, so there's absolutely zero residue, which I LOVE. It also smells really nice (kind of like a herbal papaya? but not exactly sweet/fruity) even though it doesn't have added fragrance. As for effects, I wasn't sure this product was actually doing anything until a couple of days ago where I laid off for a few days in preparation for a once-in-a-while AHA/BHA mask. Let's just say it was obvious that the product was keeping sebaceous filaments and blackheads at bay. Since resuming using it again, they're gone again. My one problem with this product is that it is so watery that a cotton pad is really kind of necessary, and I'm someone who likes to use my hands for all of my skincare steps so that I don't waste product. As such, I feel like I'm going through the bottle rather fast. To mitigate this I've been using the cotton pad on my chest, KP areas, and even behind my ears so that it goes as far as possible. This toner has changed my skin. I have bought it 3 or 4 times now and I can safely say it has improved my skin a lot. I used to have lots of little bumps all over my forehead and this has cleared most of them away. The toner is quite expensive so I prefer to tap it directly onto my skin and rub it in rather than waste it on a cotton pad. I actually use another less expensive toner first and put that on a cotton pad and to remove any debris, then I use this on top so it can really sink into the skin. I think this toner works really well because this brand is doesn't add nasty chemicals into their formulas. It also smells lovely and the packing is gorgeous. I always feel good when I used it. I do not recommend this to anyone with oily or acne prone skin like mine. This product felt very drying on my face and it also made my acne so much worse! This is awesome, 3 full size products with 3 travel size. I love the clarifying lotion. Its gentle exfoliation without any effort!! Just swipe your face with a cotton ball drenched with it. Super easy and you get great skin for sure. Liquid soap and lotion are great as always. I actually shared the smaller sizes with my 10 year old as a great start to good skin routine and she loves it. This is a nice serum. I only use it at night time, but have noticed a difference since I started adding it to my nighttime routine. When I wake up in the morning I notice that old spots have gone down and my overall skin texture has started to smooth out. My skin just looks bright in the morning compared to dull and just blah without this in my routine. I also use this on my neck at night. My neck had two discolored lines and they’ve gone down and overall smoothed out. The texture on my neck has dramatically smoothed out and I think a lot has to do with this serum. I use the brightening toner in the morning and this serum at night. I don’t put any other stuff on my neck other than my cleanser and moisturizer so I know my results are mainly from adding niacinamide. My neck looks like more of a match to my face, and when you’re aging like me matching my neck to my face is a good thing. Before I incorporated this to my routine my neck started showing pretty decent signs of aging. It was also discolored from left over tans in the past. So it helped make things more even. I wish I’d taken before photos to compare. Always cleansed and moisturised my skin with decent quality products but in January my skin was making me look old, it was dull and I was constantly battling texture, clogged pores on nose and build up of rough surface layer that looked dreadful under makeup. Now use a range of good molecules products and my skin looks smoother, brighter and more youthful. I’m not needing to rely on harsh physical exfoliants either. Started with niacinamide and once I knew my skin tolerates it I added the gentle retinol cream. These both improved my skin, recently added the pineapple exfoliating powder and vitamin C powder which further improved my skin. Squalane oil is nice to layer on afterwards to soothe skin. Does require research/reading info to check which products you can use together though but totally worth it.CC

I'm very weary about trying out new skincare products after having dealt with hormonal and cystic acne from the ages of 16-20. By 20, I received a medical diagnosis that explained why my skin got the way it got, and with treatment for said diagnosis, my skin has been doing really well ever since. I have been left with acne scars (ice pick scars) that have smoothed out naturally over time and lots of aloe vera, but was ready to try something new. THIS PRODUCT completely changed the game for me!! My skin was smooth the NEXT day, and using it twice a day as instructed made a very noticeable difference after four days of use. I received this product complimentary from Topbox to review. I have to be honest I was really nervous to try this product and the word "astringent" was the main offender. I have combo oily sensitive and the thing that my skin seems to dislike the most is astringent. Astringents and acidic toners really irritate my skin to the point where I get a slight burning feeling for hours. I am pleased to report that I didn't have that experience with this product, The Effaclar Astringent Lotion was really gentle on my skin. It almost felt like water. After the first use, my skin looked and felt hydrated. One of the claims of the product was that it reduces the appearance of pores and removes blockages. I didn't get any breakouts while using this product (which is always a good thing), but I also didn't notice any differences in my pore size. The pores around my nose and chin are the most noticeable and they appeared the same size after several days of use. That being said I still like this product. It's gentle and I felt that helped to keep my pores clean. If you have really sensitive oily skin and you're looking for an effective gentle astringent or toner, I would recommend this product for you.KeikayJ

I've been using this product for two weeks now to get a good test out of it for this review, I absolutely love it and would buy more. It's definitely effective, gets all the dirt and oils off my face for a clean base. There's no strong fragrance to it which makes me trust it to put it on my face considering I do have occasional breakouts. It does not irritate it whatsoever and I find it supports to bring down my heavy breakouts and evenly tones my skin in almost what seems to brighten it as well. It also isn't over drying at all! This toner seems to balance the moisture on my skin. I would heavily recommend completely on others who have acne prone skin to give this a try ! Had never heard of La Roche Posay before receiving my complimentary toner from influenster I have researched them since have now added a new brand to my skincare routine! They’re very good quality skincare products I love that influenster allows us to find new brands that we would have not tried before 🖤 this toner is SERIOUSLY AMAZING, I’ve watched my pores shrink over the last 3 weeks but honestly saw a difference after the 1st use! I could FEEL my skin tightening. My skin has been super soft have had zero breakouts.
