Medicated soaps are too expensive (and not necessarily effective), boutique soaps are expensive and not always available. After the boutique soap I use went up to $8 a bar I needed to find a different brand. That's when I came across AOS. The three main ingredients (charcoal, tea tree oil, shea butter) are what I need in a soap. And your products (Rise and Compete) are perfect. If you're comparing this to some of the online and trendy "premium" soap brands, this is a great value, though I do wish these would go back to 4oz. Leaves my skin decently moisturized, and the smell is a very fresh and clean, slightly manly scent. Wish the scent lasted longer but then again, those heavier fragrances can be hard on sensitive skin. And as someone that usually only uses CeraVe, this is the only other soap I use to wash my face. I purchased Jack Black's Turbo Wash Cleanser for my brother at Christmas, because it's such a no-fuss, multi-use product he can keep in his gym bag. It does exfoliate my winter skin, but it isn't at all moisturizing; without applying lotion right out of the shower, my skin would feel dry and itchy. But I routinely use this to wash and then lather my skin with coconut oil after showering, and my skin has remained soft and smooth all winter. Best of all is the scent! It really is uplifting in the morning, and it has a complex sophistication about it that makes my bathroom smell expensive and stimulates feelings of well-being: like walking into a bougie spa and inhaling deeply. I bought a single Turbo Body bar years ago and it’s the best bar soap ever. When the 3-packs showed up, I bought it and was disappointed. The outside wrappers smell nice but the bars pretty much have no scent. I bought another 3pack last year due to the amazing price and it’s the same thing. I don’t even use them anymore. I have just about every product that Jack Black makes and I largely love their products. Unfortunately, I have to leave this body bar the bad review that it deserves. In the packaging the soap smells wonderful, but once it is used it smells like nothing. The “scrubbing soap” description is most misleading. There is a rough sentiment in the soap but not nearly enough to scrub or exfoliate anything. I’d say 5 percent of the surface of the bar feels rough and that is after using the bar for over a week. The bar leaves your skin feeling sort of sticky instead of soft or clean. After using the bar you have to use body wash to wash off the soap. I would have asked for a product refund, but I gifted one of the bars with a holiday basket. Save your $30 and buy a different product.Bill

I've always been a sceptic of facial 'oils' for many reasons such as: they're often too heavy or poor grades unsuitable for facial use, thus causing blocked pores/ blackheads, they often sit on the skin and cause excessive surface oil and finally when they're sometimes advertised as something they're not 'i.e. a serum'… I see it as a reason to overprice and oversell the product… This product could not dash away further from all of those cliches! This concentrate is a beautiful blend of high quality oils and extracts which deliver potent results on the skin. I have been using this for just over a week and a half and already I've seen brighter, clearer skin which is retaining more moisture for longer. Part of the appeal of this product is it's ability to defend against pollution, perhaps this is why it delivers these results where so many fail, because it's not actively forcing the skin to develop 'new' positive traits, it's defending against the aggressors which strip them away in the first place. Daily Reviving Concentrate's smell epitomises the perfect morning routine, literally the smell of sunshine – with a delicate and gentle citrus aroma. Upon application this scent quickly dissipates as the concentrate warms and blends into the skin with a silky slip. You do have to leave it to sink in for a few minutes before applying your moisturiser (great followed up by Ultra range btw, my favourite) but on that note…I've noticed I've been using less moisturiser too. I have acne prone combination skin that hates just about every daytime product I use. Decided to give this a go since I love the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, and WOW! Finally, a product that keeps me from getting flaky while keeping the worst of the shine at bay. I stay hydrated and lightly glowy without irritation/whiteheads at the end of the day. Application wise, it does best on clean but not damp skin. I layer it on top of a toner (Calendula Toner, same brand) and under a thick cream moisturizer (Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream). I also find that if you let it soak in for a moment, moisturizer applies on top much better. If you have especially dry skin around the eyes, I recommend applying this product after eye cream as the concentrates tend to migrate on to dryer skin.JosieRosieC
I've got normal-dry skin and love my skin to feel super hydrated and look glowing at all times. I have been using oils in my nighttime routine for years, however I hadn't tried using them under makeup during the day as I thought they may make my base makeup slip around. I bought this oil to use on make-up free days, but recently tried it under makeup too and I just love it. It's not a super thick, heavy oil like those I tend to prefer in the evening, but it feels lightweight and sinks into the skin quickly. It smoothes, hydrates and adds a brightening glow to the skin straight away. The scent is quite strong, but it doesn't seem to irritate my skin whatsoever. A day or two later I’m taking a shower and I’m trying to find the same experience. There’s no smell, I get my wife to give it a whiff, nope nothing! I have used other Clinique products before but this was the first Men's product I have ever purchased. Sadly, I was disappointed. It actually made my skin more oily and shiney. I thought as a guy, this would be perfect since my skin is already oily but sadly after 9 days of use, I needed to discontinue as I saw no results, only adverse ones. The product did not make my skin feel clean or refreshing like other Clinique products. Therefore, I returned it and exchanged it for what I know works and for a product I do like. I currently use Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap. Now this product works and feels great!
I've always had an oily complexion and most cheaper facial scrubs clean well, but leave my face quite oily about 30 minutes after a shower. So I thought I'd spend a little extra and get the Clinique for Men Face Wash Oily Skin Formula. It took about a week, but my skin is definitely less oily after each nightly shower. I feel that the product still cleans my skin well, but doesn't result in an oily outburst in the hours after. I still have and I guess i always will have an oily complexion, but the clinique oil control fave wash definiely helps control it. I will continue to buy this product as the extra cost is worth it.Dash75

I bought the extra strength one. Usually I used the Acne Solutions soap bar. I honestly don't feel the difference. Both work for me. I've been trying to have my teenage son use it too but I don't think he's consistent at using it (so he still has acne on his face). Keep in mind I have used a LOT of products for breakouts (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, medolic acid, etc). so, I guess my face is used to being 'worked on'.. ha ha… this product, though at extra strength, doesn't feel harsh to me.80303
Used to use this when I was younger and then tried other products over the years; some I do like but rediscovered about 18months ago and like the title says, forgot how good it was. For me never leaves my skin dry but after a couple of weeks my skin definately seems clearer. The only reason for the 4* is price; but it works well and packaging. Every time you buy it you get a plastic soap dish! For someone buying for the first time and/ or as a gift this is fine but for repeat buyers I don't know why Clinique don't sell the soap just wrapped in foil; like it comes inside the new plastic soap dish everytime. This would presumably lower cost ever so slightly for repeat customers and reduce on plastic waste. Surprised Clinique haven't already done this and if they have I've never managed to find it sold outside of the plastic dish… Anyway, love the product regardless. I like the scent but I purchased the soap for my husband so I guess his opinion is the one that truly matters…maybe. He, too, likes the scent. What he doesn’t like is that it takes too long to wash the slippery, still soapy feeling off. He stopped using it after one shower. On the other hand, it’s not a truly “male” scent, it works well with my Grove mesh scrubby so I use it and have no problems rinsing it off. So, 2 stars from him but 3 from me.Janet M.
I purchased this soap for my soap choosy husband. He loves it! My husband prefers his soap to have a clean smelling scent and to leave his skin feeling moisturized. I gave this soap to a male friend and this is what he had to say: This soap smells amazing. While not exactly a sea surf smell to my nose, it has a powerful (yet not overwhelming) masculine fragrance to it that resonates well after the shower is over. Great everyday cleanser. Good for basic face cleaning without all the gimmicks. Cleans easily and makes my face feel super pure without being dry. I would compare it to their version of a dermatologist recommended cleanser like Cetaphil or Neutrogena but this one is way better! It doesn't bother me at all since it is allergy-tested and fragrance-free. That is one of the big pulls I have to Clinique. I think we take it for granted that we can all use all of their products that actually give results while not being worried about any sort of reactions! Love it.Brando
The Oil Control Face Wash has been reformulated earlier on in 2020 — one of the biggest differences is that the ingredient menthol has been removed. This can be confirmed in the updated ingredient listing for this product as well as speaking directly with a Clinique representative both online and in their New York offices — which is exactly what I did in November of 2020. While I'm in favor of removing menthol, Clinique is still sending out the older versions of this item with that ingredient in it. My most recent order confirms this as well. I'm quite anxious to try this updated version and after calling Clinique directly, as well as several Clinique counters, nobody has a clue as to when the updated version will actually be the one a customer receives when placing an order. After the bar soap I had used for 30 years kept getting smaller with the price going higher I had to find something else. My daughter recommended your products so i gave it a try. I like ocean scents so went with sea+surf exfoliating bar. What a pleasant surprise. Good sized bar with a very pleasant scent. The exfoliating properties are outstanding. Feels like sandpaper the first time you use it but you crave it after that.
My husband has been looking for that "perfect soap" for ages. He LOVES this. He likes to use soap and likes to feel clean and exfoliate his skin. He is a very picky fellow about his products. I purchased this soap after seeing a tiktok video about it. I have hormonal acne and have noticed a huge difference since using this bar. My acne started to decrease after a few uses. I keep it in my shower and wash my face with it every morning. The soap lathers nicely and leaves your skin feeling so soft and clean. I have seen other reviews saying people did not like the scent of the bar. It does smell sweet, but personally I don’t find it bad or too noticeable. The bar is huge and will last a long time. For this low price I was very impressed!
I've have problematic skin my ENTIRE life. Oily, acne prone, clogged, and irritated. I've tried Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, PanOxyl, ProActive, and more. I was unable to find anything that helped sooth my painful cystic acne. So as any young girl would, I started looking through YouTube to find a solution and stumbled upon this little gem. I had watched videos after videos of girls my own age at the time and women who struggled with acne their entire lives light up of this product. So I decided to give it a shot. The BEST decision I've ever made. My acne was under control! Products are different for everyone and that's just how it is. But this product changed my skin. I've never used anything other than African Black Soap ever again. Anyone with oily, problem skin, I recommend this beautiful bar. (Gets a little messy, so make sure to buy a container with it LOL). I decided to try this soap out since people were raving about it. I have medium dark skin and I blemish easily from acne and just about anything. I also have very sensitive skin from follicular dermatitis so I was hoping for the best in this soap. I usually use doves body wash, but when I used the African soap, it actually didn't aggravate my skin. I like that it's for face and body so I'm trying it out on my face as well. Overall, I have no problem with it. Just make sure to moisturize because soaps tend to dry out your skin. I noticed some significant decrease in the darkness of my blemish spots. Hope they make this bar of soap in a body wash with the same cleansing effects. I will still buy this bar of soap from now on!Reshmi R
