The Conair bonnet hair dryer works well for drying my shoulder length permed hair while I'm putting my makeup on in the morning. The hose has proven to be long enough to be able to move some at the vanity. I will agree with other reviewers that the connection of the hose to the bonnet can be frustrating as it will fall off occasionally. I'll usually take the bonnet off and fluff my hair and then put it back on to finish drying; sometimes I'll need to finish drying with a hairdryer and diffuser if I want to curl a few strands. The hose, cord and bonnet will store inside the case. I have been careful with the bonnet so that it does not tear, especially when it is warm. I was pleased with the price and the ship to home option.
This product was incredibly cheaply made. The bonnet would not stay attached to the hose. The hose material was pretty thin – so I'm thinking it will have a short lifespan, nor was I impressed with the plastic material that made up the bonnet. I returned this product to Wal-Mart right away without hesitation. I ended up buying a Carel Soft Bonnet Dryer elsewhere. It is more expensive – but much, much better. I absolutely love this Bonnet Dryer. It is thin and easy to store away. It was just what I was looking for to give my hair some extra loving away from the salon. Now I see some user error has cause low ratings here so let me offer a few tips. The hose may seem like it is locked in place but you actually have to turn it just a little more to fully lock it. Also some folks said it wouldn't stand up, well if you look at the tag on the cord, it actually shows it lying on its side and tells you to always use it vent side up. Like most reviews, I am finding the hose to be the poorest design of the dryer . I am in the middle of using at this very moment. The hose not only keeps falling off but the plastic attachment on the cap has come off completely. So I am holding the hose in the cap , while wrapped in a towel . My hair is almost dry after 2 hours . I find the noise level tolerable and expected. The highest setting is way too hot. Medium is bearable but the hose is hot on my back or arm . I have the older version that folds down with a hard bonnet but the knob broke a few years ago . I would have enjoyed this if it just was user friendly. It is going back tomorrow. Bought this dryer a couple weeks ago.So far it works surprisingly well. I have a very short hair cut so the bag is a bit loose on my head as I don't use curlers or other styling aids that may take up volume. However, the heat settings are very effective. Just used fornth first time. Hot is HOT and LOUD as others have not d. I used earplugs up front and it sounded just as loud as at ththe hairdressers, so tolerable. I used it and bought it for deep conditioning. It does have a metallic smell which I’m hoping is because it’s brand new. I love th adjustable feature. I'm not a hundred percent sold on this item. I miss my Lady Dazey to be 100% honest. While this product can get the job done, it's extremely loud and definitely NOT as powerful. But a girl has to make due, right? Considering the times we're living in, heading to the hair salon may not be the most available option so being able to put my hair in rollers and dry my hair at home is a necessity. I had to leave a review because I feel the current ones do no justice. I was concerned when I purchased about a month ago but this dryer has been amazing. I have used it once a week since a brought it. I mostly use to deep condition or treatments. I’ve recently did a flexi rod set and used this bonnet dryer & it turned out perfect. Between the deep conditions and the dryer my hair is less frizzy when I do natural styles. It does dry faster on the side with the hose but after some time I just reapply the bonnet if needed. For the price and it being a home dryer you can’t beat it.Asia L

Which tells me that this product deserves a higher rating since THE NOZZLE ATTACHES PERFECTLY IF YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Over all love it. I have natural hair that I two strand twist and take down. Takes more than 24hrs to air dry so decided to invest in a hair dryer so could wear my hair down more in the Winter. Washed and conditioned my hair twisted it up and then rolled it up on large magnetic rollers. OH the difference in my hair now and before more shine and body. Giving 5 stars because love this hair dryer and would recommend to any body looking for a good affordable hair dryer. Only draw back was the elastic in the bonnet way to tight and very uncomfortable. Well was not ready to give up my hair dryer looked over the design clipped the elastic and replaced it with a 72 inch shoe string so I could adjust accordingly works like a charm love it even more. I purchased this dryer after reading the reviews and unfortunately I agree with some of the reviewers complaining that this dryer just did not get hot enough like a typical salon dryer. I was told by my local Sally's store that they sell lots of these Venus dryers to salons with no complaints. This is not a heavy duty dryer for a full range of salon services and I have never seen this model in a salon. It's Ok for home use if you don't need high heat. It's very quiet but doesn't push out a strong force of air or heat. I also didn't like the big Sally's logo on top of the dryer; just felt a little cheap. I immediately returned this dryer and purchased the Apollo dryer which is a much more durable and nicer dryer that gets hot enough.
I love this dryer. It is the same one used at the salon where I get my hair styled. The day after I first used it and went to work I received so many compliments on my bouncy curls. The set turned out wonderful. I could never do sets at home with my other stand dryer as it would take 3 hours or more to dry and was still frizzy. This dryer takes about 1 hour 15 minutes and I get a soft, shiny set that last for days. I have extremely thick hair so I need the maximum heat setting and this dryer definitely delivers on that. This will save me so much money as I will be able to have fewer salon visits so it will pay for itself in a very short time.
Most of the time when you buy a refurbished item it's as good as new. I was hoping the same would be true of these dryers. I purchased 4 of them and out of the 4 one of them was DOA so I will have to return it. Two others have issues with the timer-the stickers do not match the interior controls. I would say it's probably a 10 minute difference between what the sticker says and where it's actually at. This isn't a huge issue but is it really that hard to line everything up correctly? I will try to just make do with these for 6 months to a year until I can replace them with some belvederes.

I have baby fine aging frizzy hair. The settings are what make this so special and it allow me to use one part warm with 3 parts cold. I had to leave a review because I feel the current ones do no justice. I was concerned when I purchased about a month ago but this dryer has been amazing. I have used it once a week since a brought it. I mostly use to deep condition or treatments. I’ve recently did a flexi rod set and used this bonnet dryer & it turned out perfect. Between the deep conditions and the dryer my hair is less frizzy when I do natural styles. It does dry faster on the side with the hose but after some time I just reapply the bonnet if needed. For the price and it being a home dryer you can’t beat it.Asia L
I realize that a lot of the negative reviews have to do with the nozzle apparently not attaching to the hair cap securely. Which tells me that this product deserves a higher rating since THE NOZZLE ATTACHES PERFECTLY IF YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. There are symbols on the nozzle and hair cap that show you have to twist to lock the two in place. Works well for my 90 year old mom. except it's rediculously hard to get the hose and cord out of the side compartment-need a screwdriver or butter knife to pry the door open!–and equally hard to fit them back in for storage. We''ve just dumped the whole thing into a cloth bag! The unit is only 800 watts, but seems to do the drying job fine, without the noise of more power. Plenty of heat! The on/off switch is difficult for Mom to manage, stiff/sticky.Happy Shoveler

Just got this item yesterday and I am in love! This is my first bonnet hair dryer and I can say I'm impressed. I thought these were a relic from the past but my new hair stylist recommended a bonnet dryer for my naturally wavy hair. This helps set my hair with product before it has a chance to separate and get frizzy. Compact and light weight. Four heat settings. Not too loud. Keeps frizz way down and keeps my arms from getting fatigued as opposed to a regular blow dryer. This does have a height adjustment on the column. There are videos if you can't figure it out. The key is to not be slow and gentle but to hold at the base and use more of a hard and fast motion on the column to force it up quickly. For this price point it is hard to go wrong.April

The elastic in the hem of the bonnet is much to short and made fitting the bonnet over jumbo rollers nearly impossible. It also made for an extremely uncomfortably tight fit around the face. So, I replaced it with some narrow elastic I bought at a fabric store. It was a bit of a hassle but it works well. The heating unit is part of the carrying case and that’s a bit cumbersome. Connecting the bonnet to the hose is very easy but disconnecting afterward – which you have to do or you cannot close the carrying case – is very difficult. You just have to sort of rip the two apart and hope you don’t break the 2 little prongs that affix hose. If you break them, the dryer would be useless. This and the elastic were poorly designed. On the up side, the unit dries thick, medium length hair in a reasonable amount of time so, after replacing the awful elastic, I am satisfied with it.Handley
