I personally love this product because I have very dry dehydrated skin! This makes my skin look and feel light-weight and luminous at the same time. I would definitely recommend this product for dry skin that isn’t super sensitive and even if you have normal skin type and you are looking for that clean gorgeous glow this is it!! I also love how hydrating this is, it is like a moisturizing sunscreen. If you are scared to be to glowy then you could definitely try skipping your daily moisturizer in the morning and just go in with this at the end of your skincare routine. I wouldn’t say that this sunscreen is heavy, I think it is very lite-weight and long lasting with no white cast which I love!! The sunscreen does have a little fragrance but honestly it doesn’t bother me, I have sensitive skin and sense none of my other products have fragrance this just adds a elegant floral smell! I wouldn’t recommend this product for super sensitive skin that gets irritated by using fragrance, but if you don’t mind it and you want a sunscreen that is light-weight and makes your skin have a beautiful bright glow then this is definitely the product for you!! I understand that people with more Oily/Combo skin type would not enjoy this sunscreen, because of how oily the product could be with Oily/Combo skin! I am definitely re-purchasing this product!! Hydro UV Defense is a broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen gifted by Laneige for review. Adore this brand and was considerably excited to try their new sunscreen. First of all, it has a clear finish and more importantly: no stinging of the eyes! Unsure if this sunscreen is water resistant but it held up great during outdoor exercise. A big plus since I’ve unfortunately had painful experiences with other sunscreens. Application leaves my dry skin looking dewy and hydrated. It layers well with other skincare and has a light non-irritating scent which disappears quickly after application. It’s also dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic.teapear

By far my favorite sunscreen! I have medium/tan combo skin with olive undertones and this disappears beautifully following cleansing and toning with zero white cast. At times I forget to moisturize on top of it and nothing slides off of it all day. Even with moisturizer it does not make my face oily, which is a godsend. Many users have commented on the scent but quite honestly, I think it smells fresh and quite lovely and not at all like the typical sunscreen smell. I recently received a tube of Clear Skin SPF 30 complimentary from Proactive in exchange for my honest review, and I gotta say it is refreshing to find a sunblock that actively prevents acne breakouts, when most cause them I have a very fair complexion and burn extremely easily, so a high spf is a must for me. I have acne prone skin that breaks out easily if I use products with irritating ingredients. I love that this sunscreen was formulated exactly for that problem! Most sunscreens on the market (mainly chemical sunscreens) cause me to break out even after double cleansing. This product didn't do that and made me feel better about wearing spf knowing I wasn't going to break out. I love using this in the morning to help protect my skin from the sun and it doesn't feel greasy like a lot of sunscreens tend to. I have very dry, sensitive skin that burns easily so I really appreciate a high SPF in an elegant formulation, which this sunscreen absolutely delivers. I didn't experience any negative reaction and it doesn't sting my eyes at all. It has a light, liquid/serum texture that doesn't leave a white cast on me, although I have very fair skin. It leaves a slightly dewy finish but is not super hydrating so I do layer it over a moisturizer. It also plays well under makeup. The only reason I might not repurchase, and the reason for only 4 stars, is the packaging. I'm so over the trend of putting skincare products in glass bottles with dropper applicators. It's not practical for a product I want to be able to throw in my purse and reapply. Plus it makes it more difficult to use enough to get the advertised sun protection. I don't remember how I found this sunscreen or brand but I am so grateful for it. I have highly acne prone skin and about every sunscreen I have tried either gave my face a total white cast or broke me out. This does neither and my gosh does it make my skin feel amazing!! I notice that if I have a rare day I know I won't need to put it on due to staying mostly indoors, I put this on regardless! I love how it makes my skin feel that much. I am not sure if this is helping to prevent acne and can't make that claim for sure as I've had other variables in place as well…but I definitely haven't had any of my normal crazy hormonal breakouts since using. I have very sensitive skin: both facial and ocular rosacea, as well as a few patches where eczema crops up on my face. This sunscreen does not irritate my skin or eyes in any way. It is supremely gentle and leaves no white caste. In addition to not bothering my skin, it has actually improved it. It feels and looks smoother and softer, and has considerably reduced the milia under my eyes. I bought this product because my target store was out of the sunscreen I had been using for the past few years, and I am so glad I gave it a try. This was my first time trying a sunscreen from this brand and I was not that impressed. I got this one and the non-tinted version of this, and both were just not that great. They don't sit well over certain moisturizers (I use cerave cream) and can pill/bunch up depending on the skincare you have underneath. The tint on this claims to be universal, but it was noticeably darker compared to my natural skintone. I'm Asian with light/fair skin (Fitzpatrick type 2), and the color difference was so obvious. I applied this to my face and neck, and it was so dark compared to my chest. I was confused because reviews with lighter skin said the tint was fine, but it might also be that people don't apply an appropriate amount for proper spf coverage. The tint on this is really suited for those who are a solid medium/tan skintone. This is also not dark-skinned friendly (I had my friend try it out), as it leaves you looking ghostly. Also, the smell is similar to that of rubber tires. I do like that it's spf 50 and lightweight, but the cons heavily outweigh the pros for me that I would not find myself ever purchasing this again.Kev

Recently with the influx of skincare and makeup videos on apps like Instagram and tik tok, I've been seeing so many things about sunscreen and sun protection. I'm only 25 but I've started to notice some fine lines and signs of sun damage since I'm quite pale and fair skinned, which is all the more reason for me to use this. I've tried other sunscreens for the face but most of them leave a white cast or make my skin feel even more oily than it already is, or even pill up on dry areas. That was until I went searching for the best face sunscreen and found this. At first I was hesitant because of the price, and thought about it for a few months. I mean $37 for sunscreen is definitely a lot, but to those wondering if it's worth it: it definitely is. This sunscreen is absolutely amazing, it's light, fluid, makes me feel like I'm wearing nothing at all, and best of all leaves NO WHITE CAST!!! I love knowing that I'm protected and the spf 50 is great for someone like me with super pale skin. The only issue I have with it is that it does leave my face looking a little oily but usually I'll just put a bit of powder on and it looks normal. I would definitely be interested in trying something that has a more matte finish, if available. Also I will say if you use the recommended amount of sunscreen daily you will go through this bottle pretty quick. I'm so glad I decided to try this particular sunscreen from La Roche-Posay {already being happy with, -and using their SPF50 for children for both me and my son} wanting something that felt a bit lighter for the face and neck especially. I have very sensitive, reactive skin prone to redness {not diagnosed but ticks every box for Rosacea} and not only does this sunscreen not cause any irritations whatsoever, but my skin seem calmer and happier since I've started using this nearly daily and I've had no flare ups and putting it on. There's not even a hint of redness {that can even be brought on by my kind moisturiser that is great for me otherwise}. Anyone with finicky skin knows that this in itself is so nice to find, – but not only have I had these results every time for weeks now, but it also seem to make my make up look and last b e t t e r, which I find hard to expect from a sunscreen. So much so that I've stopped using a primer before make up application {and rather just use this sunscreen and then a cc cream and some translucent mineral veil, and I have had more compliments on my skin than ever}. The consistency is quite runny and light, but I find that to be a great feature for a sunscreen for the face as it melts in with no white cast whatsoever. It stays a bit tacky to the touch {and skin looks healthy 'glowy' on me}, which I now only appreciate as that might be what then has make up sit well on top too. I would rate this 1 million stars if I could. I'm an esthetician and use a ton of products. But this has remained my number one favorite. I use this as my everyday foundation. It is insane how much more confident I feel the second I put on this product. It makes my skin so glowy and hydrated, and evens out any redness on my face. I have converted clients of all fitzpatricks to this. I would suggest possibly putting out a paler tint and a darker tint, because the tint can pull orange on fitz 1/2. I want to love the **** out of this stuff I really do. I think what’s mainly throwing me off is this is a sunscreen and not a foundation. Which I 100% knew that when I bought it, but it’s obviously something to get use to if you mainly use foundation. I do have rosacea and by no means does it cover it up or any other blemishes I have, but it does give a nice tint. It gives your face a little bit of coverage all while looking extremely natural! Which I love! First time applying this I used a makeup brush and I didn’t like the finish. Second time was my finger tips and that looked a lot better. It’s extremely blendable when blended in with your fingers. I love that this is a sunscreen so I’m not so worried about “messing” my face up. Overall it’s a good product. Alastin’s tinted sunscreen is the BEST. As you can see in the picture it looks darker than my actual skin tone, but it blends perfectly. A little bit goes a long way and I do not have to reapply throughout the day. I started using this product around 6 years ago and will faithfully continue to be dedicated purchaser of Alastin products. They have many products I use, but the tinted sun screen is my favorite (next is a toss up between their cleanser and restorative skin complex). I use it everyday and only purchase it 2x a year. Another bonus is if you are in a hurry and don’t have time to put on makeup, this covers just enough. The price has recently increased to $60, but you get more product than before.lauren.p

Neutrogena’s Invisible Daily Defense Sunscreen Lotion broad spectrum SPF 30 is such a pleasant product to use. First off this lotion provides superior broad spectrum UVA/ UVB protection with antioxidant to help fight environmental aggressors such as cold, ozone, and pollution. My first impression- I love the mild fruity scent! The formula is nice and light, rubs in 100% without any white residue sitting on my skin. It feels hydrating to skin, almost like applying lotion. And to me it’s important that this product is non- comedogenic. This sunscreen has worked very well for me, providing great everyday protection for sun and environment. Literally horrible. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before purchasing. Usually do but I was out of town and picking up some essentials from Target and came across this and hardly read it… saw 60 and “NEW” so I figured I’d try it. I usually like Neutrogena sunscreens and they’re a pretty safe option. Not this one. All of the reviews say “not for face” and I wish I would’ve read that prior to using on my face! The skin on my face is horribly irritated- puffy eyes and very dry scaly skin under my eyes… dried out my skin very badly. Do not use this on your face. Probably safe on the rest of your body but I’m not even willing to try. This is day 3 of not using this sunscreen and my face is still irritated and puffy. Been using this for a few months now and can say that I love it. Like it says for me it does not cause breakouts which has been an issue in the past with many facial sunscreens. That's why I waited a while to review I wanted to put this through the ringer. So I'm about to give you an in depth review of my usage over the last few months. First off this does go nicely over many many many facial products and treatments as I have a whole repertoire of products that I've used or tested or tried out for the sake of it. And this applies nicely. I like to warm it up in my hands and then press onto my face and rub in like you would a moisturizer and make sure to get your ears as well. It does not leave a white cast on my face which is nice and doesn't feel oily or greasy because it's oil free. It can feel a bit gritty for some reason but I've gotten past that it's all good. I aloow it to sink in for about a good 10 minutes if I'm doing makeup and then I begin my routine. Have not had any problems doing makeup with this underneath as well. Works fantastic. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because if you have a face full of makeup and you'd like to reapply this is not it! Because as we know 2 hour application is best if you're out and about in the sun. Which usually I am all day. So I'd recommend a spray product or a powder product for an alternative. Now if you're going natural for the day even though we don't like makeup wipes maybe carry some miceller wipes and wipe your face down and reapply to prevent product build up which even though this is breakout and oil free if you're reapplying as directed. Imagine a 12 hour day you'd be reapplying 6 times that's a lot of product going onto your face to be cleansed off at the end of the day. This is why some form of wipes stay within my reach for easy cleaning to make reapplication a breeze and end of the day cleansing a bit easier. But I only recommend this if you have or know a brand that works for you. My friend who also works outside and is religious about sunscreen uses a facial cleaning water product and reusable cotton pads. But overall. This sunscreen is great haven't gotten burnt and I'm in the sun all day every day in hot Louisiana.jessica.h

The first sunscreen I have liked enough to finish the bottle. The best thing about it is that it's light enough that you can't feel it on your face- it doesn't stay greasy or rub off on everything you own (like some other mineral sunscreens do) so it is very practical for every day usage. As for the cast, I am light skinned with neutral undertones and it does leave a slight blue-ish cast on my face. It is not bad though and if you rub it in all the way it is hardly noticeable. If you notice no cast at all you are not using nearly enough and not getting the full SPF 30. I would recommend removing this before reapplying because at the end of the day if you have several layers on your face from reapplication, I found that if I scratch my face even lightly that it collects so much product under my fingernails. Additionally, if it gets in my hair it kind of gets stuck and then flakes at the end of the day. This is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5, and also because I wish it came in higher SPF as well. I'm looking for the most practical and convenient sunscreen for every day use and I think this is the best at this price point. I finished the bottle in about a month and a half- that is with daily use on my face and neck with at least two reapplications (two finger lengths worth of product each time).christinemaie

I just got this and I know it’s a winner. I purchased the Biossance mineral sunscreen and I didn’t care for it, mainly because it did not absorb into my skin (think layer of cream) and would run off my face when I’d sweat. Not cute :/ or comfortable. So I decided to switch to Dr. Dennis Gross and let me tell you… it absorbs into my skin like a dream, leaves no white cast (I have a light olive complexion), and the packaging is yellow! (I like yellow). I’m joking about the packaging, I’m sure there is more to love, but I can’t think of anything else at the moment. My main concerns are absorption and no white cast and those are met. Maybe in a few weeks I’ll see if there is a difference in my skin. The only thing though is the price. Yes, it’s higher than I’d like, but at the same time it is a quality sunscreen and in a skincare routine the sunscreen is the most important step… so I guess I’ll let it slide. For reference, I have normal to dry skin, packed with hyperpigmentation, pores and fine lines because I didn’t take the proper care/protection when I was young. I thought that I was not going to like this sunscreen but I actually do, and a lot! PROS: – Physical sunscreen: even being a full physical sunscreen, it doesn’t leave too much of a white cast. – It doesn’t irritate my eyes: because of being a physical sunscreen, I can apply it around my eyes and over my lids. Chemical sunscreens irritate my eyes. – Lightweight and easy to apply. – It worked well under my makeup but I needed to use a matte finish foundation to compensate the glowy finish that the sunscreen left on my skin (I apply quite a lot to get the SPF advertised) – It has some skincare ingredients but I don’t rely on my sunscreen to get what my aging skin needs (other than the SPF, of course) – Non scented formula: it doesn’t have any perfumes so it is perfect for any sensitive face out there – Reef safe. – Clean at Sephora. CONS – It is quite pricey, and that’s the only reason to give only 4 stars. – Applying liberally, as the brand recommends and as every sunscreen should be applied to get the level of protection in the label, you will end up with a very glowy finish. It still works with my makeup but I have to avoid glowy foundations or it would be too much glow. This was one of my first purchases from Paula's choice. I have tried to go back to it on a few occasions and it ways feels great to apply, absorbs quickly feeling smooth and matt to the touch, but it always stings soon after application and within an hour I am looking oily than usual which seems to quickly and progressively get worse. I switched to the resist SPF 50 for oily combination skin and don't seem to have as severe an effect although still oily within a few hours as usual. The primer for oily skin however has massively improved this! Happy with that. After trying this SPF30 again but with the primer, it still had to work hard and I was oily again much earlier. Not sure what's in it that does the opposite for me to what you'd expect. After absorbing, this leaves a really nice finish on the skin that I love. It feels very soft and matte, but not dry at all. I don't need to use moisturizer in the mornings with this, but I don't get greasy at all either. There is a slight sunscreen smell (which doesn't bother me at all) but my god, it makes the skin around my eyes burn terribly. Other common "athletic" chemical sunscreens (like Banana Boat ets) don't burn my eyes like this, so I'm not sure what it is about this product, but I won't get it again.Abby

I had high hopes for this sunscreen as I am a frequent user of Cetaphil products due to my highly sensitive and eczema prone skin. I've been wearing it every day while out and about in the southern heat and humidity. I will say that it is effective in that it doesn't melt off when I sweat and I definitely haven't gotten any sunburns while wearing it. It doesn't sting when I apply and has no scent. However, there is a reason it says "Ideal for under makeup" on the bottle. The white cast it leaves on your skin is intense. It has covered well with makeup (I use bareminerals original foundation), but there is no way you could use this and just walk out the door with nothing else over it. I have olive skin so I'm sure that doesn't help the situation. If you're looking for an under makeup sunscreen, this could be great for you. This is a lightweight mineral sunscreen, advertised as ideal for application under makeup. Wait, as far as I am aware, sunscreen should be applied as the last step in your skincare routine. Hm? Anyway, it worked for my skin, however, it is very basic, and it has a minimal white cast. I had to blend it well in order to avoid it. Be careful applying it over your makeup, because it is not fully transparent (minimal white cast). It did not cause any irritation/dryness, and it is lightweight as advertised. However, I am not sure if this sunscreen is reef safe. The other reviews are correct— this Cetaphil Sheer Liquid Sunscreen pills and flakes horribly. I have been using it for almost a year now and I own two bottles. I have applied it every way possible with the same unpleasant results on my face. The key to application with this product is to (1) squeeze a nickel to quarter sized amount in the palm of your hand (2) rub your palms (hands) together and then (3) gently pat the sunscreen onto your face like you are making hand paint impressions in art class. (4) keep patting until you don’t see the white cast. (5) if you need more coverage, repeat these same steps. When I apply this way, I do not get flaking and pulling. Trust me on this one, I’ve applied it other ways and I was out in these streets looking crazy. My husband even called me out a few times, like “what are those white flakes on your face?” I’ve tried other brands like Australian Gold and Coppertone but this Cetaphil sunscreen is the only one that actually keeps me from burning (that means it is working to block sun rays) and I would purchase it again until I find something better.Lena

I will keep buying this sunscreen until they stop producing it or I die, whichever comes first. I really struggled with finding sunscreen that doesn't make me too oily, give me a horrendous white cast, or make me break out, and this is it. I never get burnt wearing it, and it doesn't pill or clog my pores. It is super smooth and plays well with whatever products you use over or under it. In the summer, I usually skip moisturizer and just use this as my base layer, and I think if you're concerned about excess oiliness this is the way to go. As a disclaimer, I usually rock a somewhat dewy look (too much work to fight what nature gave me) but I don't like outright oiliness and for me this hits that sweet spot. If you like a true matte look you could probably still make this work depending on what primer/foundation you're putting over it.spillanor

I have to say that I really loved this products. I read everyone’s comments but I gave a try. I do have a few tips 1. If you have a white cast, you may be using a lot more. My suggestion is to use a nickel size amount of sunscreen. Dot your face with it (one for forehead, two for each cheek, side of nose, one dot for chin). DONT rub it, but instead pat it. 2. Give it at least 10 minutes before you add makeup. I like to give sunscreen a minute to set in so I feel more comfortable with makeup. I realized that the longer you wait, the better makeup goes well for skin 3. Don’t believe when it says Matt priming. Don’t get me wrong, it is Matte but it doesn’t blurr your pores. It just leaves a soft touch (like a tissue paper) but I do recommend to wear an extra primer just in case if you’re oily or combination 4. Give it a few days to adjust with it, you may see a white cast but after you keep rubbing, it eventually goes away The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that it’s a small bottle size and I just wished it had more. It is a beautiful sunscreen, minimal citrus scent, no crazy white cast and not oily. That perfect medium. Texture feels like a light moisturizer. I have read a few comments about people breaking out but it could be the fact that it is a chemical sunscreen? I’ve had small cheek breakouts here and there but honestly, could be due to my hormones and not the sunscreen. The price point I think is what makes me come back to this sunscreen!! I was almost going to return this because the first few times I used it I experienced a lot of pilling on certain areas of the face. But I also noticed that on the areas it didn't pill, I had the best of both worlds — gentle zinc SPF protection and a bit of radiance. I also really liked how makeup applies so smoothly over this sunscreen, because some zinc sunscreens can leave a chalky feel that makes foundation look too pale. Not so with this one! Anyway, because the instructions on the product recommend layering it over a moisturizer, and because it's the dead of winter and I have drier skin, I needed to figure out what would work well with this. Turns out that a few drops of a face oil applied first work out great! No pilling at all, not even a tiny bit. I'm so pleased. Previously I was using an oil-based moisturizer that didn't even have silicones in it, but for whatever reason the Tatcha didn't agree with it. I absolutely love this product. I use it as a daily sunscreen and as a primer before foundation. If my skin is EXTRA dry, I will go in with a moisturizing serum or moisturizer first, but it isn't necessary for me every day. I'm not sure why people say that this is drying. There is fragrance in here, but it is very low on the ingredients list. I have super sensitive, combination-dry skin, and I do not find this product drying. I even bought this for my sister for her birthday. The fragrance is very light and nice (smells like Tatcha) and it feels pretty going on. No white cast once you blend it in properly, although it does go on white before being rubbed in. It doesn't have the pore-erasing quality of say Benefit Porefessional, but it does blur pores and create a silky, even look much better than untreated skin. The only reason I took a star off is because of the price. In order to get the coverage/sun protection you want and that it claims to possess, you have to put on more than a pearl sized amount. I usually use a dime sized amount, or sometimes even more. Therefor, at only 2 ounces, it runs out quickly if I use it everyday. While it doesn't seem too too pricey, especially for Tatcha, for daily use it gets expensive quickly. That being said, I will definitely buy it again! I have to say that I LOVE this sunscreen. I was sceptical of the price, but I love Tatcha products so I thought I would give it a try. I usually use it under make up and I find that it works great as a primer and really does smooth out my pores. The best thing about it is that even without makeup it really does give a blurring effect. I purchased this because I was looking for a stronger SPF for under my makeup that wouldn't clog my pores and didnt feel too thick or cakey, but the fact that it also blurs and smooths my pores is what really sold me on this product. Other brands have made me breakout but I have not had that issue with this product and have been using it for about 4 months now. The only reason for my 4 star review is that I really think the bottle should be a bit bigger. A little does not go a long way (in my opinion) so I think a larger bottle or value size would be more convenient, especially since this product is always sold out so its annoying to run out quickly and not be able to restock.adriana.c

Even though it is tinted, it will not cover up hyperpigmentation, acne, or wrinkles, putting a primer underneath after the rest of your skincare is crucial to help it fill out pores and wrinkles. While this can work with most skin tones, it doesn't work for people who i know who are mixed race are, or have medium skin tones, if you have yellow, peach, or golden undertones and you are fair, or dark, this will blend into your skin, otherwise go for elta md spf 46.faatima.r

This is as far as I go with face makeup and the more I use it the less hyperpigmentation I have thanks to avoiding nasty tints that sink into your pores and cause congestion. Highly recommend for acne prone, textured skin. Simple fix to the tackiness is putting on bareminerals foundation over it. Buildable and leaves you with hydrated, moisturized, and protected skin. Alone it is very dewy and just the finish for hot dry Florida days. When the humidity kicks up, adding some powder to prevent transfer and keep it from feeling tacky is all you need. Perfect product! I've tried far too many high quality and "clean beauty" tinted spfs and this checks all my boxes. There is no such thing as a perfect spf but with a couple hacks this baby comes close. Nice texture — silky but not oily. It leaves more of a dewy, than an oily look. It's unscented, and water-based with none of the unhealthy ingredients that are already banned in other countries, but that can be sold legally in US cosmetics. It also contains some good ingredients such as niacinamide. The tint works for my light skin. It looks dark when it comes out of the tube but blended in well and has just enough pigment to even skintone without looking like you are wearing makeup. (For reference, my skin tone is about the same as Neutrogena Healthy Skin products in Fair to Light 20 tone.) It has a warm undertone, so would probably be better for people with the same. I'm not sure if it would leave a light cast for darker skin tones, but I don't believe it would leave that ghostly white cast some zinc oxide sunscreens do. I've been trying a bunch of mineral sunscreens and this one is a good one for me. Hope this info helps!A

so far this has been my favorite chemical spf for my face. it doesn't give a crazy whitecast, it spreads nicely and sinks into my skin very well despite my skin texture, my makeup lasts longer, and it doesn't break me out. there are potential cons though. if you layer on a bunch of serums and/or don't wait the full 15 mins before applying makeup, it will absolutely pill every time. and if you have active/open acne, it may sting since this is a chemical spf (mineral spfs are better for this). it has not made any of my existing acne worse, though, just a couple uncomfortable applications. overall, I love this sunscreen and have been using it every day for a couple months now. there are still others I'd like to try, but I will likely be buying this again.Sofia

This formula was very nice! It was easy to apply, might need to rub in a bit more than you would for clear formulas, and it didn't burn my skin. Over time it does get an oily sheen but that could be my own skin's contribution since I have oily skin already. One thing that annoys me to no end is the tendency for the sunscreen to collect in my facial creases. I will find a white line in my smile lines, base of nose, eye creases, and under my glasses. I always have to check and rub off what gets collected in the creases throughout the day. It's very noticeable on my tan skin. If it weren't for that, this would be my only go-to….but I'm still searching for something better. if anybody can recommend a lightweight, oil-free and acne safe formula that doesn't add collect, i would greatly appreciate it!Brianna

I am very, very fair and burn very easily. I wear a CC cream daily that has SPF in it but I used this sunscreen when I knew I would be out in the sun for a while during the summer. It is lightweight and blends in completely, non greasy and doesnt irritate my sensitive skin or make it break out as I am also prone to breakouts. I realized shortly after beginning to use it that it served as a beautiful primer for my CC cream application and gave my skin a really lovely finish with both products applied. There are even more low key days where I skip the CC cream and just moisturize and apply this sunscreen even when I am not going outside because it makes my skin look great. Im very happy with this product especially since it is multi purpose for me. It's a holy grail product for me and I use it every day now.ds

Hi everyone. My skin type is mildly oily-combo (oily in certain areas & dry-to-normal in others such as cheeks and oilier in my t-zone area), sensitive skin. I was looking for a buildable, sheer coverage, non-greasy, non-pilling, not super casty mineral sunscreen with either purely zinc and/or titanium dioxide. Also of course I am open to combination sunscreens, so long as their gentle enough, as I’ll be having a cool peel co2 laser and prp micro needling bio-facial treatments done on my neck soon on the 13th of April. Anyways, was basically looking for a quality mineral sunscreen which looked cosmetically elegant on the skin. I had seen a lot of positive reviews of this particular sunscreen on target and online , but for me, although it felt very light and not super heavy, upon closer inspection, I noticed that it had a tendency to collect in areas of my face with hair, such as my facial hair stubble, eyebrows and even my hairline a little bit unfortunately, resulting in slight purplish colored patches on my skin due to the cast this sunscreen was leaving across my face and all. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this sunscreen, because unless you have zero stubble like me, than sunscreen will leave a weird cast, when using 2 finger lengths of sunscreen. Pros of it are that it goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel greasy nor pill using the full amount. Just don’t like how it collects where there is hairJeff

I’ve been wanting to try this mineral sunscreen for a while now so this tiny bottle was the perfect sample size! I got about 3 uses out of it. To start, I have a medium skin tone (I’m of south Asian descent) so finding a mineral sunscreen without a white cast is very difficult. This sunscreen glided onto my skin so nicely and left no chalky feeling, unlike most mineral sunscreens. It does take a while to blend in and did ultimately leave a minimal white cast (though it did go away on its own after a little while). I don’t know that I would recommend this sunscreen for skin tones darker than a medium/tan. I am also very acne prone and I don’t normally like having to rub in a sunscreen so much, since it irritates my skin. However, the consistency is like a lotion so the application didn’t bother my skin at all. My only small complaint is that it is a bit drying, and I do have dry skin. For those on the drier side, I recommend applying an oil to your face before applying the sunscreen. That helped keep my skin moisturized under the sunscreen! Overall, I thought this was a great product and I’m looking forward to purchasing the larger size soon!skumar

It also absorbs very well and does not leave any sort of stickiness or tacky feeling on the skin. This product is fragrance free and safe for all skin types – even acne-prone skin. It will leave an ever so slight shine on your face, which translates to a glow on my skin, so if you are oily or prefer a completely matte look then this product probably isn't for you. I find it wears lovely under my foundation–something that can be a challenge with sunscreens. I love this formula so much but had to knock a star off because of the use of chemical filters. If this sunscreen was purely physical it would be a 5/5 holy grail formulation. I keep testing out all-mineral sunscreens and always come back to this one. Honestly I haven’t had a lot of luck with many sunscreens because of white-cast, oiliness, etc, but this one has been the best formula of the ones I’ve tried in the past. It’s a lightweight formula but you can definitely feel it on your face for the first 20 minutes after applying. It definitely protects your skin and it feels like a clean product, and not too heavy. It has a slight white-cast that goes away after a minute of rubbing in. My only downsides are that it leaves an oily/glossy finish (which I personally dislike) and that it pills with other products. The gloss isn’t terrible, you can certainly cover it up with some powder, but not too bad alone. It definitely can pill so I have opted out from using it with makeup or serums. I keep my morning skincare routine very minimal (just wash and moisturize) so that this sunscreen will not pill. I’ve had it pill before with the cerave vitamin c serum. Actually, this is the only sunscreen that has met all my criteria. It also makes my skin look and feel amazing. I have acne prone skin, I’m combo oily, I don’t like feeling anything on my face, and I enjoy makeup. I’m also on a retinoid. I have been using this sunscreen for over a year, and continue to come back to it when I go exploring to see if there’s something better. So far, there isn’t! The finish is natural. It’s not too shiny and not too matte. It literally just makes my skin look healthy and moisturized but not oily at all. There is absolutely no white cast. It does not pill under any makeup I’ve tried. It layers up beautifully. I’ve reapplied 3 times in a day and it manages to stay silky and not cakey on my skin. It does have a very mild, pleasant scent- which is great because I hate fragrances in products or ones that smell naturally of battery acid. It does not sting around my eyes AT ALL. It also has the added benefits of improving my skin texture and look of my complexion. Though it doesn’t add coverage, per say, I can go without my powder foundation when wearing this. Sheer Physical UV Defense Sunscreen. This is a 100% mineral sunscreen containing Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, and enhanced with artemia salina (a plankton extract to help boost skin’s natural defenses to UV-and heat-induced stress) It’s a very thin and milky formula and sinks in nicely. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin like a lot of other mineral sunscreens that I’ve tried. The finish is matte and smooth. My face has zero irritation with this one and feels very protected. I don’t experience any eye stinging. It does have a very minimal whitecast on my skin tone. I usually can’t handle a whitecast but with this one I can look past it because it’s more breathable than other mineral sunscreens I’ve tried. Plus it’s very minimal. They also have a tinted version (Physical Fusion UV Defense) that looks nice too. Overall I love it !hope.d

I really enjoy this sunscreen. It’s a high-end brand, so I knew it would be a small bottle even before I looked at the product page for product size (1 oz for $35 USD). My dermatologist recommends 5%+ zinc oxide for sunscreens, so while I’ve been searching for sunscreen that’s my #1 requirement. This sunscreen has 6% titanium dioxide and 5% zinc oxide and SPF 50 so I tried it out when I picked up another product. I also have pretty sensitive skin, so it has to be able to work with it. I’ve been using it a week and so far I like it. I use the 3 finger rule for my face and neck, as I’m trying to focus on better skincare. If I do this and am not careful, I will get a white cast on my face and it’s noticeable – which is why the four stars. So I start with 1.5 fingers on my face and let that settle, add another half, and then the rest on my neck. It works well. What's the difference between them? Both are advantageous in their own way, but since I have a history of melasma, I prefer mineral-based sunscreen since it deflects heat and contains no hormone-disrupting chemicals. Physical, mineral-based sunscreens also tend to have a higher zinc concentration, act as a physical shield, and sit on the skin to reflect ultraviolet rays. It's so lightweight and dewy that I can wear it on the hottest summer days (I live in Arizona, where the summers are brutal) without it caking on my face. Since Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 is not a chemical sunscreen, I don't have to worry about it breaking down on my skin and causing irritation. This sunscreen is light enough for daily use, odorless, and water-resistant for up to 40 minutes, which makes it an excellent option for the beach or hiking. Since I started quarantining due to the pandemic, I rarely wear foundation, but this tinted sunscreen keeps my skin looking refreshed and glowing. Usually, I pair it with clear brow gel and call it a day, but you can easily apply a layer of foundation on top of it. It is recommended that you wait 15 minutes before applying makeup over sunscreen. I can wear sunscreen on a sweaty run without worrying about any greasy residue running into my eyes. I like that it feels lightweight and has a beige undertone similar to my olive skin tone. However, I'm a little disappointed it only comes in one shade since not everyone will be able to experience how good of a sunscreen it is. The tint works well for my olive complexion and will probably be a good match for fair and medium skin tones, but it might look washed out for those with darker complexions. Verdict: The 1.7-ounce bottle costs $34, which is a bit more than your typical drugstore sunscreen, but if it helps protect your skin as it does for me, it's worth the splurge.menith.s

I have to say, this is one of the better sunscreens I have used. I had been using another brand that was tinted, but I really was looking for an untinted sunscreen because it was always rubbing off on my clothes, mask, etc. I really wanted a 100% mineral sunscreen, but this hybrid version is great. I think it's nearly impossible to have a 100% mineral sunscreen with no white cast (and untinted), so I settled for a hybrid and I think it's worth it. No stinging/irritating the eyes so far, and no white cast! For it being fragrance free, it also does not smell bad. And the price point is great! My only complaint (which is why I am taking away one star) is the packaging. I love the look- very clean, modern, high-end looking, but it is so wasteful! The bottle is clearly way bigger than what is inside- WHY??? Why not just make a smaller bottle that holds all of the product without the extra wasted plastic? Not to mention, it would fit in bags/travel easier. It makes me think the sole purpose is to deceive you that you're receiving more product than what you are. The best SPF is the one you want to apply and THIS one is it for me!! No eye or skin irritation. I needed something I could quickly apply, especially in the early mornings before kid school drop off with no white cast, no greasy feel. I love it. I apply in layers going section by section from forehead down all the way to neck/chest. Applies so nicely. Starts out white then sheers out as you work it in. No strong SPF smell. Dries down to a healthy skin sheen. Not shiny but that healthy-skin glow you don’t even want to cover with make up! Thank you DRMTLGY! I have tried SO many SPF’s both chemical and Mineral. This hybrid formula I can’t live without. I actually find myself re-applying throughout the day — like I’m supposed to! I apply over my moisturizer, 1 finger length (about 6-8 pumps) per section (forehead, then cheeks, upper lips and chin down to neck/chest. I live in Florida and have windows everywhere in my house. 50yr Asian with combo skin that I’ve been super lazy with taking care of until recently. Decided to try this sunscreen and was quite surprised by how much I like it. Things I really really like: – no white cast – viscosity is really good…not thick or runny…makes slapping it on my face super easy – applies very nicely and is very lightweight as I don’t feel like I’m wearing a sunscreen – non-pilling!!!! The most interesting thing I find (and my favourite thing) about this sunscreen is that it behaves like a primer on my face. When I apply foundation on top of it, I get no pilling of any products, the foundation applies so smoothly on top of the sunscreen and it stays on your face for the whole day, and a very very smooth finish to my skin. I’ve gone more than 12 hrs with my foundation not moving, not had to do any touch ups of powder, and not become greasy. Foundation on top of this sunscreen seems to give me super smooth looking skin that I don’t have to do anything with, which works for me cause I’m pretty lazy and I forget to check my face throughout the day. Haven’t fully tested in summer sun since I have purchased this over the winter and have only been using it a few weeks, but it blends well into my combination skin, not very thick like some of the drugstore sunscreens can be, but also not watery/runny. I like the squalane in it. After several hours of wear, my face doesn’t feel hot or reactive – which I have experienced with other mineral sunscreens – I do have mild rosacea and a tendency to flush especially if my skin is “covered” with products for too long. I want to try Biossance mineral SPF next, but if I don’t like that one, I will probably go back to this.Kimberly M.

I wish I could return this product. It’s goes on so heavy, does not spread smoothly. There is a white cast that has to be really massaged into the skin to go away. Even hours later people will tell me I have white stuff on my face, it’s so embarrassing l. Also my skin get oily with this sunscreen and I have to blot it during the day. I like other Glytone products such as the exfoliating lotion but this one is not good. Honestly felt like I was applying a drug store sunscreen.Natalie
