20 Best Spf Foundation For Dry Skin (Feb 2023 Update)

I used to have this on my MUST HAVES list of my make up routine back when I just started wearing makeup. I would still have it on my list if my fine lines and wrinkles weren't creeping up on me. Definitely gives you the value and quality you paid for and more. It's super affordable and makes your skin super soft and blurrednlook for that photo finished look. I noticed of course wearing primer and moisturizer under made this product look much better once finished and lasted much longer. Without the primer I needed to ouch up about lunchtime but when I did do a little touching up I noticed it gave me a cakey look. I also noticed that as I wore it thru the day that my face looked patchy and I believe this was because if the oil in my skin. 2.5, 3 is just honestly too generous. So first I like the shade but it does oxidize something terrible. Thankfully I use the white LA girl concealer which will highlight anything no matter how orange so whatever it was still fine. Second, I am a dewy girl, a balmy babe, I like to look WET however I still had to break out powder and double spray for this foundation! It looks…fine. But for being just a few hours into my day it could be so much better. I assumed that even though it was dewy, it would dry down with a luminous finish. It does not dry down at all. The texture it is when you first spread it onto your skin is the same texture it will be 30 minutes later. In the age of mask wearing this foundation should be on the bottom of your list, not transfer proof. not even a suggestion of longevity. I itched a pimple and was devastated to look in the mirror and see a nice tan, bronzed face with a nickel sized patch of angry pink skin where my pimple was :/ returning today as I could not work with the formula.Liz

I bought this #maybellinepressedpowder because of all the great reviews and I typically like #maybelline products. Overall I think this is a fine powder; it's very smooth, the color is perfect, and there packaging is nice. However, it's a little more sheer than I wanted. I've tried it moist and I tried applying it with a thick Kabuki brush but could not get the coverage I wanted. Don't get me wrong, I was not expecting #lancomedualfinish results, just a touch more than this product could provide. I feel the best use for this powder are touch ups, but use the #revlonvolcanicroller first so the powder won't cake in oil. This is my BY FAR FAVORITE foundation. I've come back to review this for the 2nd time now, last time was in November after using for a month to see how I liked it and wanted to see if it would break me out before reviewing, etc. but I've just been unable to find another foundation like this one! To start off, I have really dry, eczema skin.. but if you use a moisturizer and some setting spray on your face before putting this on, you will be fine if your skin is like mine. So, I had run out of this foundation at the beginning of the year, I should've ordered when I was getting low but I was unaware that they don't carry this one in the ulta stores, so I finished off the remainder of this too faced foundation I had (not the same but works good) and that started getting low so I went into my local ulta to see if I could maybe find something similar to it. Nothing similar but a worker recommended a Smashbox matte foundation for me since I have dry skin… and I returned in within 2 days because I just couldn't.. it enlarged my pores and had barely any coverage at all. So I was out of town and went and visited another ulta, hoping I could return that one and find this foundation, they didn't have it either! So I settled with too face again but got a shade too dark. So now I have to return yet again (ulta is about to be sick of me lol) but I'm almost thinking about returning this, and going foundationless for a while until I can order this and have it come in the mail. Too faced is great, don't get me wrong it's definitely my 2nd choice, but nothing seems to compare to this foundation and will always be my favorite. It can withstand heat, humidity and sweat, all while making your face look flawless (not exaggerating). My forever favorite. I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for some time now and I cannot fault it. It is the most flawless and long lasting foundation I have ever used and I have used plenty of different other brands. I have rather oily skin and tend to sweat from the head quite easily thanks to having PCOS but this foundation stays put even if I spend the entire evening dancing and getting rather warm, it barely budges unless I rub it off. Best of all, it makes my skin look absolutely flawless and silky smooth. I have found it is best applied with a foundation brush than a beauty blender or your own fingers. The brush seems to distribute it more evenly across the face and blends really well without having to use much product. I do always finish my makeup with a setting powder, I just feels it completes the look. I currently use Laura Mercier translucent loose powder which seems to work so well with this foundation. I haven't yet tried other setting powders with it. If you want a Matte, long lasting and flawless foundation, I highly recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear, it is worth the money.Jemz

Every time there's a perfect makeup, a company has to go and change the ingredients and mess it up. The price went up five more bucks, and this stuff, which used to be my #1, just isn't the same suddenly. It's greasy when it wasn't before. What was perfect for oily/combo skin wears off fast in the oily zone. And if you're someone like me who is working all day long and sweating in your tzone, you definitely don't want it separating on your face or transferring any time you try to dab your face with a paper towel. It also feels sticky like it won't dry after you put it on, and it's really hard to put any kind of powder or setting powder over it when it's so tacky. I used to LOVE the coverage and how long it lasted, but it's different now. And this isn't the kind of stuff you can just touch up. You have to completely redo your whole face or it looks terrible and caked on in splotches! I shouldn't have to keep smoothing it over my skin the whole day just to keep it from settling in every tiny line on my face…I'm 34, I don't even have the kind of aging skin that this tries to make me look like I have lol! Why did they fix something that was never broken?! Nothing good ever lasts, they always try to cheapen it up and charge more. 1st things 1st: I love this product. My skin has changed recently due to age and chronic illness. So, I've been looking for a product for a year that would look and feel right as well as be good for my skin. My journey started when I looked up what my favorite soap actress, Laura Wright (General Hospital), wears on her face because it always looks so good. The result was finding this makeup and learning a lot about make up itself. I do not usually buy things because a celebrity wears it. It seems pretty silly to me, usually, lol. But I’m glad I got beyond that this time. The first thing I noticed is that it does not come in a box and the bottle looks kind of clinical. As if it came from the dermatologist. I am personally happy with the company spending the money on the product and not the packaging. The first bottle I bought was too dark. I originally went to the website and did their tutorial. It told me to buy beige. I thought it might be too dark by looking at it online. But I tried it anyway. It was really way too dark. I kept it and decided I would use it for contouring when I needed just a little shading. I then bought Opal, which I thought would be better and I was right. It was perfect for my skin. It is very creamy, very nice texture. It does have a slight chemically odor that leaves as it dries. It melts in nicely. It is easy to blend, and it dries nicely. Heads up: Let it dry completely before making up your mind. I think if I was to do it over, I would order their 10$ sample card. It does look a little different as it dries. There are not a lot of colors. However, you can custom blend 2 together. This is an expensive foundation, but VERY worth it. You won’t use as much because of its consistency, and it dries feeling like you have something on, but light and feels like skin. It seems to wear well, and my skin feels firm in it. This is going to be my go-to for nights out or when I want to look special. I will keep my bb cream for daily wear. However, You could absolutely use it every single day. It is not heavy or greasy. It is GOOD for your skin. It helps it to retain oxygen and moisture. It has salicylic acid, so you won’t break out. It was developed for on-screen activity, so it is durable and long lasting. This is the best foundation EVER!!! Because of Covid and masks, I developed a skin condition called perioral dermatitis. I tried sooo many foundations, like literally no joke 30 foundations from younique to everything at ulta and Sephora! Everything made my rash worst and had so many additives in them. This is the only one that doesn’t irritate my skin or clog my pores or make my face rash worst. It covers amazing with a couple applications. I got the taupe, I’m blonde and have a medium skin tone and it blends amazing. It does seem pricey but I use it about 3/4 days a week when I go to the office and so far one bottle has lasted me a month. I ordered a second for when I run out but depending on how much you use it it will last a month at least. Buy it!! It’s amazing!!Jbos13

This is the only foundation that I will wear. It prevents me from breakouts, is moisturizing, and super natural looking while also providing solid coverage. I tried at least 10 different foundations before I found this one and always would wear full coverage ones. This one has got me to love my natural skin and wear less makeup. The only downside is the price and the quantity. It’s very expensive for how much you get and basically lasts me one month. I got it, and it was darker than I thought but not outrageously so, just enough that it bothered me. However, the formula and coverage itself was wonderful and became my every day foundation even if the shade wasn't the match I wanted. So then I went ahead and bought the Fair, hoping it'd be a better match, and even if it was too pale, it's almost winter time anyway. The color match was better this time with the Fair. However this one keeps coming out dry and patchy and separates on my skin and I look crusty! I bought these two tubes mere months apart, so this inconsistency is super concerning!Janet

I am 60 years old, with dry, sensitive, post-menopausal skin. I have fine lines, redness and enlarged pores to consider, when using complexion products. My skin is light with pink tones. I look for clean formulas without chemical sunscreen. I just could not find a medium-coverage foundation that is not matte (looks dry and settles in lines) and not dewy (transfers easily and emphasizes pores). I have tried so many products, have read all the reviews, and have heeded store employees' advice. And yet, my holy grail foundation remained out of reach. Until I tried the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation. PROS: This formula grips to my primer without mottling and is not drying nor dewy. It is comfortable on the skin and protects my skin without irritation. The wear is very good, providing a skin-like finish that can handle the occasional hot flash. I was able to find a good shade match. I like the pump tube component. CONS: This product is only offered at Ulta and the brand website, so I worry about the company discontinuing it for lack of volume sales. There are only 12 shades, so there may be challenges for some skintones. My Fair/Light shade is the only one not offered by Ulta in the just-released value size.DestinTart

I'm usually a "light" or "light/medium" and their "light" is a hideous yellow color with a very GRAY cast to it. Their "medium" is just pumpkin orange on me. So I could never find a match. On a whim, I tried their "Bye Bye" foundation in the shade light/medium though. And to my shock, this shade was pretty much a PERFECT match. So my advice is, IGNORE what they say the "undertones" are… The light/medium is NOT cool toned. If anything it is warm/neutral. And I'd look at the newer shades they make because I honestly think they are much better and more realistic looking. Also, the formula of this foundation is incredible. It is literally the ONLY thing I've ever found to replace my beloved and very expensive, Chantecaille "Future Skin" foundation. It doesn't settle into fine lines AT ALL and it looks great all day. And when I do a "half and half" test (meaning put the "bye bye" foundation on one half of my face vs. another foundation) it wins EVERY TIME! The ONLY downside is how difficult this foundation is to get out of things. It sticks in makeup brushes like I've never seen and is murder to wash out. Other than that though, this is perfection. It pairs PERFECTLY with their "bye bye" illuminating concealer. I tried their "illuminating" cc cream too and it was a glittery disaster!! But just like their illuminating concealer which has NO glitter, the "Bye Bye" foundation ALSO has no glitter– just diamond powder in it. So you get a subtle glow with this foundation with NO glittery residue!Marinajc

Shade Almond. First day trying this. It’s actually really good!! I’m normal to oily skin (T-zone area oily only & some forehead) I used a primer water spray, then a Matte primer (makeup revolution niaci.) elf hydrating concealer, & Laura mercier powder! I LOVED that combo! I definitely recommend this BUUUUT I did use like 5 pumps. I had to use 3 pumps then wait to set a few second then add 2 more pumps. I don’t mind, but it does claim medium coverage, so I can’t be too mad. I just wished I used less pumps. Also, I use a sponge but also used a brush to tap into my skin (cheek area only) then back to bouncing with my beauty blender. Hope this helps. For ref I got shade: Almond and it’s like 95%-97% match. Really good! I definitely rec this product. It was matte but nice and soft. It maybe reminded me of Fenty (with ‘more pumps tough).. for REFERENCE I also use 1.02 (warm olive) in smashbox, light 45 Neutral for KVD beauty, Light 22 N or 20S for tarte FT foundation, and 140 & 150 mix from Fenty. I also use shade Fair in LA Girl, Fair beige 008 in Catrice, & in Maybelline FIT Me foundation I use shade 125 & a liiiiittle bit of mix of 128. I Hope this helps. I ran out of my usual foundation and I saw this online discounted for a sensational price so I figured I'd try this since I've tried other products from this brand previously with remarkable results. When it arrived the packaging was simple ( which I like ) and arrived in perfect condition. It is a pump, which is another plus because you can control how much comes out. I ordered the shade honey and it is exactly how it appeared in the try it on feature on the brands website. Application was simple enough I used my foundation brush using only a little at a time. And O M G !! The coverage was fantastic, definately there's a mattifying effect. In coordination with this I used my Too Faced Born This Way concealer in sand. I went about my day working outside and such.and when it says 24 hour that is no joke. I've tried many foundations but this one is a definate keeper! Love love lovesharron.n

I'll admit that I am aware of my own oiliness. My face is a grease trap at a sports bar on Superbowl Sunday. I gave up foundation about a year ago, but then I began working for my nonprofit job, and I have to look good to talk to volunteers. Reader, let me tell you: I was terrified. Tinted moisturizer would disappear within hours. My old powder foundation was out of date. I was panicking. I hadn't swatched foundation in years, and I have acrylic yellow undertones. And let me tell you, dear readers: Almond is the perfect undertone match for me. My skin tans unevenly, but the coverage of this foundation means that you can't notice the slight discolorations. I feel great! Even after a long day of work which would leave me looking like a drowned rat in my old foundation, I look comfortable. My skin looks like skin. I've noticed that powder blush looks better on top of this than my beloved Milk blush stick, so that was a change, but I genuinely love how this covers my difficult, tantrum-throwing skin. I've bought this foundation twice already, it's just a super reliable workhorse foundation. It goes on my face smoothly without emphasizing dry patches (I have very dry sensitive skin) and I love that it takes a few minutes to dry so I can move it around with my brush without making it streaky/patchy. It dries down to a natural finish, slightly radiant without looking oily. When I first got it I had oily skin, and now it's dry, so I think this foundation is suitable for all skin types. The best part about this is that it truly does not oxidize and turn orange/dark throughout the day. I found out because I bought a too-light color the first time, put it on thinking "oh well it will get darker later" and was surprised when I looked just as ghostly in the afternoon!Helen

So I have been using this foundation everyday for a couple of years now and I have found that it's great for super sensitive acne prone skin. This foundation is very long lasting, yet doesn't feel heavy, cakey or leave a film on your skin when you try to wash it off. It has the best natural finish that looks like actual skin and doesn't transfer or wipe off throughout the day. I have applied it various ways, but have found that using 1 pump and applying it with my hands and then going in with a beauty blender to smooth certain areas is the best way to apply it. Less is definitely more with this foundation, but you can always build it up and add concealer over it where you feel you need coverage. For reference, I am the shade NC20 in Mac foundation and I use the shade 2.16 in this foundation and it's a perfect match for me!Koko

I purchased this in shade 1.05 after seeing it posted as a dupe for the discontinued NYX BB Cream in Nude, which was my holy grail color match for my fair olive skin tone. I love it! It's another perfect match for me. When I first applied it, I was a little worried that it would highlight my skin texture, but after blending it laid down really nicely. It has the ideal "your skin but better" finish and doesn't exacerbate my dryness. Like the NYX BB Cream, it's buildable, so you can opt for a BB cream-style single layer or build it up to medium coverage with additional layers or adding concealer. I applied a second layer and some spot concealing to cover my dark spots and healing acne, and it never looked cakey. Frankly, even with the second layer, it didn't "look like makeup" sitting on my skin – it just looked like my skin! If you're familiar with the NYX BB Cream, this obviously is more of a foundation formula and is slightly more matte in finish, but I think you'll be pleased with the shade match and dry-down! I'm delighted to find a perfect shade match in a formula/finish I can wear for both every day and full glam. Fair olive matches are ridiculously hard to come by, so this is a 10/10 win in my book.AlyssaDeeZee

I’ve been searching for a new foundation to be my go-to since the Peach Perfect Matte foundation I love has been discontinued. Now I’m so happy because if they hadn’t discontinued I would never have tried this! My new holy grail hands down. My skin has loads of texture from scarring and goes slick with oil by the end of the day, but not while wearing this. I find my skin can breathe so much better with this foundation and it looks like… skin! Literally it dries down so beautifully, no mask transfer AND if I touch my face with all my makeup on it feels just like soft clean skin. Even my husband noticed a different. I can wear through a whole work day without any oil poking through and no touch ups needed. If you’re on the fence with this, just buy it! So I'm new to buying expensive foundation and didn't know which to try. I have combo skin (oily t-zone, dry everywhere else) so I looked into Foundations that were supposed full coverage & were good for dry, combo skin. I usually wear drug store foundation but as i do makeup on social media like ig & tiktok (Guerita_Rdgz, mostly eyeshadow bot other makeup mini tutorials) figured i needed to try out some expensive foundations. After going through hundreds of reviews not knowing which to choose and feeling somewhat overwhelmed by so many foundation options but not wanting to spend a crap ton I purchased, Anastasia Beverly hills, Patrick Starr, both nars (this one & the luminating foundation) & kosas! I actually waited abt a month giving all the foundations an equal shot with the same primers to see what worked best for me. Out of all 5 Foundations the best ones that were truly full coverage and made my makeup look great, lasted all day. didnt make me oily considering i didnt get a matte foundation, and worked well with moisturizing spf, and 2 diff primers on top of my skin was this Nars foundation & the Patrick Starr foundation. Abh was a good runner up. I didn't care much for the other two, as they seemed more like a skin tent. If you don't want full coverage I'm sure those work fine but i wanted full coverage. I will repurchase this one again, I usually wear drug store and I can say some of those were better than the other two Foundations for a third of the price (wet & wild photo focus, milani conceal & perfect, revlon colorstay, Maybelline super stay, Maybelline fit me, elf flawless finish) Overall this particular foundation is one of my favorites to use, I don't get oily with this foundation as others have stated it makes them oily I didn't find that to be an issue for me & I have a really oily t-zone as long as I used a setting spray right after applying my foundation & then i used a good setting powderGueritaRdgz

Been wearing this for a few days in the colour Vienna. When I put it on my skin in the morning, its full coverage that gives my skin a beautiful glow without looking greasy. I don't like the bottle as there is no pump and a little difficult to get the foundation out of the small top. However, after 5-6 hours the foundation oxides SO BADLY and the colour turns very orange and looks greasy. Unlike other foundations I have used I can dab at my face with tissue, and it will remove the oil without removing the foundation which is good- but I don't really want to look like a greaseball in the first place- especially when I put powder on before. I wont be buying this again but I will use the rest of the bottle for when I am going out for short periods. PROS: Initially a beautiful finish, non drying, non cakey, full coverage, no scent, non-transferable. CONS: Expensive, oxides into orange, SUPER greasy after 5-6 hours, creases in lines, no pump.Tia

I received a free sample of the Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Makeup from SoPost. I tried it out mainly on my T-zone since the sample was so small, applying it with a foundation brush. I initially loved the skin-like finish and medium coverage. I wore this foundation for 12 hours to really see how it performed. The first few hours were great, my face had a natural radiance to it and there was a subtle hydrated glow. Around hour 5/6 though, it started to cake and separate around my nose. As the hours passed, the separation just kept getting worse, to the point where I would've been embarrassed to be out in public because it was so severe (thankfully I was at home). I'm wondering if maybe applying this foundation with a beauty blender instead of a brush would've helped with that, but unfortunately I didn't have another sample to test out that theory. Overall it seems like a good summer foundation for those with dry skin, but as for me and my combination skin, I'm not sure… I might consider buying this to fully test it out on my entire face, but only if it goes on sale.Jkatt

I've been wearing this for a couple years in 1C1 Cool Bone. This Futurist Hydra Rescue foundation is so easy to apply (I use a damp beauty sponge or my fingers on certain areas that need deeper coverage). I'm in my late 60s with dry skin, pigmentation spots, wrinkles and fine lines. This foundation applies with or without primer, goes over my C serum, moisturizer and sunscreen smoothly and evenly, has a lovely dewy glow and nice coverage of uneven skin tone and pigmentation. I detect a very subtle, natural scent (nothing sweet, very subtle), and among the many foundations in my collection (high end and drugstore), this one is in very frequent rotation. Besides the fact that it looks beautiful on my skin, it's so darn easy and quick to apply, almost like a CC cream but better coverage and more luxurious all around. And it has a high spf! Whether you're running out to do errands or going more glam or for any occasion, this is a gorgeous foundation that is also very mature skin friendly.Gloria

I have tried a lot of foundations/tinted moisturizers with SPF to find one that I love. Some are oily, some settle weird, some oxidize, and some have zero coverage. This stuff is awesome! I'm 40 with combo skin and this goes on effortlessly, and has a medium coverage. I like that I don't have to blend it to death and mess with it a lot for it to look good, it just glides right on with a brush and settles perfectly. It looks like I have naturally perfect skin because you can't tell it's foundation, that's how well this stuff blends in! I do wish they had more colors, I have their lightest shade and it's perfect for me but I'm not usually the lightest shade in brands. There is a scent to this, it's the typical Estée Lauder scent, it's light and doesn't bother me but some may be sensitive to it. Just discovered this foundation from seeing a recommendation from Taylor Wynn’s video last year, but unfortunately couldn’t get my shade at Sephora because it’s sold out. Kinda scared that this foundation is on sale and sold out so much everywhere, it seems like it’s getting discontinued? I had to get my shade at another retailer, but oh my goodness. Beautiful foundation, even in the heat of Houston summer at its peak now. Even 1st foundation (especially a radiant one), I feel like powdering on top would ruin the beauty of its work. I’m combo dry, definitely more dry in winter, but pretty oily now with rare dry spots. I still use mattifying primers underneath (tatcha liquid silk and supergoop unseen spf), and just 1.5 pumps is enough to cover my entire face. Super high coverage even with a damp sponge. Shade 310 silk matches my body, but not my neck entirely, still great for a summer shade, just needs a shade down maybe. Been wearing it for a couple days, and it doesn’t get crazy oily after 6-8 hrs, and looks pretty fresh even after. Love this so much, so much more than the original synchro foundation. This is one of the best foundations I’ve ever tried. It is very lightweight and has natural radiant finish and medium coverage that can easily be build up to full without looking caking. It does not settle into fine lines or creases. It makes my skin feel hydrated, blurs pores, and it also gives me some subtle lifting aspect. I have combination, acne-prone skin and this foundation does not make my skin feel oily or cause me any break outs. It is easy to blend and apply. One pump is just enough to cover my whole face, so I think this bottle will last me a long time. When the light reflects into the bottle I can see some subtle sparkling particles within the foundation. But these particles disappear when applying the foundation to skin. They are not noticeable on skin at all. I bought the shade 160 (shell) which is a perfect match for my skin tone (for comparison purposes, I am MAC Fix Fluid Studio NC18, Dior Forever Matte 1W, Guerlain L’essentiel 2N, Essence Pretty Natural 70). I definitely recommend this foundation for people with dry to combination skin.bruna.f

I received this foundation along with the primer complementary for review from lnfluenster. The packaging is really nice, with a locking pump which I really appreciate! Let me start by saying I have combo/oily skin and larger pores on my nose and forehead. For the most part I did like this foundation but it wasn't my holy grail. I tried this out several ways to see how it would perform but I always set with powder and setting spray to give it the best chance. First, I tried it with it's intended primer and a beauty blender to apply. I was at home all day but I didn't touch up at all and it still looked nice. I did try this again with a kabuki brush instead of a beauty blender but I didn't like the application as much. Next, I tried it with a different primer (Maybelline Glass Skin) and it wore about the same, except a tad smoother application. Next, I tried it as a mix in with a darker foundation and it seems to mix well. I do think less it more with this product and for me one-to one-and-one-half pumps is plenty; anymore it tended to settle into any lines I might have. It looked best for me if I powdered only my oily areas rather than the whole face. It isn't transfer proof on my skin (powdered or not) but it wears pretty well if you aren't up to much. I'm a healthcare worker so I spend most of my day in a mask and sadly this foundation doesn't stand a chance against the mask regardless of what I tried. I feel like this foundation would be best for Normal skin with normal pores and minimal texture. I'll start with the good: I didn't have to mix in any blue pigment to balance out the undertones to match my skin. The bad: it was cracked and creasing BADLY within two hours of being applied. I used hydrating primer, which works fine with a variety of other foundation from a variety of companies, so I know that the primer isn't the culprit. Plus, I only set under my eyes with loose setting powder, so the areas that are creasing – around my nostrils and mouth – are not cakey from powder. Super bummed because I was hopeful that I could finally purchase a foundation that already matched my undertones. Giving this foundation a second shot was too good to be true.Molly C

W7 – Caramel Beige. This was one of my very first foundations that I tried in my beginner makeup stage. I’ve tried different brands over the years and always find myself circling back to this one! I love love love the lightweight feel and the radiant satin skin-like finish. It’s medium coverage, but is buildable to make a more full coverage look and stays all day with the right setting powder/mist. And It blends really well with a brush or beauty blender/sponge! This foundation is just okay. It has a natural finish with a very liquidy-runny formula. There’s many shades and undertones to choose from so that’s a plus. Coverage is decent, it covers my redness fairly well. I like to use it to mix in with other foundations but on it’s own I find it doesn’t wear too long, and kind of has a greasy finish if you don’t set with powder. Mixed with the maybelline super stay foundation or a more thick foundation in general this works well but on it’s own it’s not the best. I wouldn’t recommend if you have oily skin. I have normal to dry skin. The foundation also separates in the bottle and all the oil or whatever it is sets at the top and it looks really gross, you can just shake it up to fix it but idk this foundation isn’t bad, but it’s definitely not my favorite..libby.h

First, the color is very dark, darker tan the mocha, and would be okay, I think, for someone with a naturally dark skin color. I thought I could use it for conturing, but that didn’t turn out well for me. Perhaps others would be better at that. I was, also, concerned about the ingredients. The labeling on the product is so minuscule that I couldn’t read it at all. I knew that I didn’t want products with silicone in them, after reading numerous articles about makeup for the senior woman. So, I got in touch with Almay. This was sent to me from Almay through Glamsense – thank you! This foundation is a light weight, light coverage foundation with a moisturizer and SPF of 40 built in- 3 in 1. This foundation also comes with a sponge style blender attached to apply product- it is also removable. This comes in 12 shades and retails for $19.99 at Walmart Canada. When I received this I was looking for a tinted moisturizer or a fuller coverage cc or B.B. cream for the summer months. The formula is definitely moisturizing and has great buildable light coverage. Usually tinted moisturizer feels a bit too creamy and thick for me – I have oily/combination skin and it typically causes me to break out. The Almay formula is lightweight so I have not experienced any issues or reactions with my skin! I was sent the shade porcelain which is the perfect shade for me. What I like: – formula is hydrating but not greasy – great light coverage, really evened out my skin tone and redness – SPF 40 protection What I'm not crazy about: – application sponge, this pretty much eats up your product and does not provide an even blend. Remove it and enjoy the product without the sponge. – limited shade range – 12 shades – packaging, the squeeze bottle style with the sponge made it challenging to see how much product I was using and getting out of the bottle. Overall,I will likely not purchase this product. Strictly because of the price point and packaging. Lose the sponge and the squeeze bottle, drop $5 off the price and add at least 5 more shades. I received two different shades, one being 140 Beige and the other 150 Naked. I really like the design of the bottle and how it offers a built-in, removable blending sponge. This makes applying the makeup so much easier and versatile. I tried it both ways, but I personally prefer to use mine separately. I feel like I have more control of the sponge without the bottle being attached to it. The sponge is a bit harder than I would typically want. I tried this foundation both ways; without concealer and with. I find that this product does a lot better with concealer. In my opinion it does not offer full conceal of blemishes, dark spots and so on. It does require concealer for a complete coverage look, but this is something that is typical with the previous foundations I have used. If you prefer to use no concealer you will need a lot of foundation to achieve that "full-coverage" look. The Almay's Best Blend Forever foundation does have a sticky feeling to it at first but after it dries it is not sticky at all. It offers a light dewy finish look once it has dried, so I did use some finishing powder. This product did not irritate my skin in anyway. This is a wonderful light to medium coverage foundation! I have been using bb creams or tinted moisturizers the last few years. I loved elf’s BB cream because it was enough to cover/blend dark spots and acne scars, but also let my real skin shine through a bit. I also like moisturized/dewy VS. Matte. Now that my favorite bb cream is never in stock, I asked for a rec from a friend and she suggested this one. Needless to say, it’s a big price jump. But I do really love this! Coverage is just what I want, I still spot conceal any stubborn acne but it covers any scars or pigmentation. It stays all day (ALL DAY), and blends without any lines or oxidation. You do need to moisturize well or use something dewy (glossier futuredew for me) to really get that glow, but it definitely isn’t harshe matte by itself. Picking a shade was tough Online because I’m not used to so many undertone options. I’m pretty fair, couldn’t decide my undertone, so I went to store for shade matching. Even though I could probably get away with a few different shades, matching in store with the matching technology confirmed the one I was leaning toward. And a little goes a LONG way with this foundation, so I think it will last a long time. I’ll be buying again!nayri .b

If you're a person of color looking for a new foundation look no further, this foundatoion is absolutely amazing. I have a neutral warm golden undertone and having both undertones I do not have a lot of perfect shade matches in other brands. The shades are either too warm or too olive but this is such a perfect match to my skin. This a medium coverage foundation without looking cakey, it looks like skin. This foundation makes your skin so luminous and dewy without looking greasy, I use MAC Strobe Cream to make it even more luminous. The shade range is amazing and is a very good option for women of color and women with with a neutral or olive undertone, especially Indian women looking for a new foundation. This is my new holy grail and my forever foundation, its also very beginner friendly. Saw this on a friend – she looked amazing! Yet so natural! Just had to try it for myself. I moisturized and primed my face beforehand and then used my finger to dab some onto my head, cheeks, and nose, and using a beauty blender I started to blend it outwards until it disappeared into my skin. I have to say it blended really well and melted into my skin straight away, without settling into any fine lines. Although I find the formula to be quite thick and pigmented, it isn't heavy on the skin and I only required a small amount to cover any slight redness and uneven areas. The result? Airbrushed but natural. My face was very uniform-looking, and there was a slight glow which I liked and was not expecting. This is a silicone-heavy formula which ultimately I would not be able to use daily, I will definitely be using it on special occasions, as it provides a good amount of coverage that still leaves you looking natural. One little oddity I did come across was 'Alcohol Denat' as the 5th ingredient, but as someone not planning on using this often, I'm not overly concerned about this. I wanted to try this foundation ever since I got really into makeup a few years ago, and finally somehow justified the price. IT IS WORTH IT. I was scared it would disappoint me but it just blew my mind. A little goes a long way, it’s a liquid but a little thicker than other liquid foundations. I love it. It blends so easily and the coverage is THERE! I like medium but mostly full coverage and with the intense pigmentation in this foundation, just a little bit gives super natural looking coverage- anywhere from just under medium to max full coverage, while feeling completely weightless. It gives me better coverage than the it cosmetics cc cream! It makes no sense, but I’m here for it. First foundation I’ve tried that actually covers my redness. It’s truly one of a kind. The finish is radiant, but no sparkles. Just a beautiful healthy glow. It’s not greasy feeling, but definitely not drying. It looks great with my very dry skin, it doesn’t emphasize any of my fine lines or texture. I do lightly set and everything looks and works amazing on top/under it. The foundation has a creamy consistency, quite similar to the Double Wear from Estée Lauder although its finish is completely different. The packaging doesn't come with a pump and honestly I thought that that was a plus, because I like to apply very small amount on each layer and I'm not sure I would be able to control the amount that we'll with a pump. The smell of the foundation is quite funny. It smells almost like paint. The smell goes away after the foundation is set. The coverage of this foundation is medium to full, but you can easily make it into a sheer coverage as well. It all depends on how much you apply and how many layers. I have lots of blemishes and some texture/enlarged pores and I find this foundation to not accentuate any of it. It blends well on the skin and gives me a really beautiful natural matte finish. It doesn't transfer after it dries. I like to pair it with the Strobe Cream in Pinklite and the finish gets slightly more luminous and natural but not greasy. I apply one very thin layer of the foundation with a brush and then I reapply it only on my problem areas where I have more hyperpigmentation and it covers everything without looking heavy. I have to mention that this foundation looks beautiful in person but even better on pictures/videos. I love this foundation and I highly recommend it! It's one of my go to foundation of the moment. I've always used drugstore brand powders as I have always had a fairly even complexion and despised how cakes and gross liquid foundation is. But now at 36 I'm noticing powders tend to settle more into fine lines and make my face look drier than it needs to. This foundation leaves my face feeling so light, but moisturized and really helps to minimize the smaller stuff that was aging me with the powders I was using. I picked color N40 and it blends perfectly with my skin tone. I tried it on when I got out to the car and my husband was like "Wow! It looks just like your skin, but I don't like that it covers up all of your little freckles." LoL. The coverage is definitely buildable. It doesn't take much if you just want a light coat and a very natural look, so the cost difference isn't quite as bad as I thought it was going to be. This one is definitely a keeperAshley

I've probably tried every foundation Sephora and Mac has to offer and this is the one I always come back to. I really don't understand the other low ratings… 1. This foundation is the only one I'd use without a primer or setting powder. It doesn't need it, and I like that it's optional. I feel like other brands rely so heavily on setting foundations with other products to get you to buy more stuff. This (and Mac pro longwear concealer) is like professional-grade makeup. Tried and true. 2. On my wedding day, my MUA and I planned to use either EL double wear or too faced born this way, depending on how my skin was feeling. The day came and both products were emphasizing all my texture and/or sliding off my face. I literally ran to my room and found my old bottle of Studio Fix and wore it. Best decision ever. Did not budge and lasted all day. Full coverage yet natural. 3. This covers scars. I can spot conceal with this foundation and it blends into my skin so well. I also buy a lighter shade as concealer in the summer. 4. It's not finicky. Again, you don't need to (but can) use primers and setting powders. It works with most other products (except for silicone-based primers which makes it dry out and oxidize and can separate). I don't know why I ever stop using it but i always have a bottle. I guess when you find the perfect formula, you get bored and try what's trending. Love it.Rafena

I put off buying this product for a long, long time. Anything that was aggressively targeted to me on instagram I had questions about. I don't wear a lot of make up, but like to have something that slightly evens everything out. I also have lots of freckles, so I hate covering them up. I can get oily, but also have dry patches. I tried many different tinted moisturizers in the past, most recently Bare Minerals complexion rescue. I also sometimes used the Merit stick on spots. I thought I liked Bare Minerals, but recently, I just couldn't get past how it kept sticking to the little, almost invisible hairs that are on the face, especially around my cheekbones (I also get rosacea in that area, so it does get a bit dry looking anyways). I started to just avoid wearing it, and applying the Merit stick in small areas to help blur and cover up some redness. It was fine, but Merit can also look a little dry too after a while. I finally gave in, and decided to try this. After a failed self-shade selection, I did an exchange both having realized how it really oxidizes once you put it on and doing the online submission to find my shade (took 24hrs to get a response). Tip, if you are unsure of the shade: put a dab on your face, and don't rub it in. Watch it darken a bit, and it should really help you see what color you actually need. To my surprise, I needed way less than I thought to cover my face. It felt thicker than I expected, moisturizing, and it really sunk into my skin, way better than Bare Minerals. The smell is funny, like everyone says, but it works. I often put on a dash of setting powder on too in general (I have bangs, so feel like it also helps with the oil transfer between forehead and hair) but I certainly don't seem to be any more oily than before. Whoever suggested rubbing this in like a skincare serum is a genius! The finish is incredibly greasy UNLESS you rub it in really well with your hands…then it’s sheer glowy perfection! No brushes or sponges needed for this one. I use 2 drops mixed with 4 drops of Glossier G4 tint, rub it in really good, and it stays all day with a beautiful finish. Shade Pavones 16 is gorgeous, it has a strong peach undertone that’s relatively hard to find in foundations for darker skin; we are an underserved undertone in the beauty industry. I wear Belem in NARS Natural Radiant foundation, and 25 in Pat McGrath, and Pavones 16 is a perfect match. I absolutely LOVE the super-sheer finish (especially over Futuredew), and I don’t mind the odd smell (it dissipates quickly), but I really wish this foundation didn’t contain sunscreen; everyone doesn’t want or need SPF, and I don’t like having it forced on me. It would also be less greasy and better for oily skin if it didn’t contain the heavy sunscreen. And finally, I wish this came in a squeeze bottle instead of the glass dropper top which gets messy quickly. So yes, there’s a learning curve, and a few issues preventing this from being the perfect easy-breezy skin tint of my dreams, but the gorgeous shade and beautiful finish make up for it. I initially disliked this product. Application was messy, results were overly shiny, and product would slide off my face within no time. So I stopped using it. However, I recently came back to it and after figuring out the application method that works for me I really like it. I was initially applying it like a moisturizer, similar to how they do in tutorials. But what I've found works better for me is: 1) dotting product on a few areas of my face, like you might do with a traditional foundation; 2) blending with my fingers; 3) letting it sit for a couple minutes; and 4) setting with powder in areas that are still shiny. So, I basically apply it like a traditional foundation even though it's not. When I do this, it lasts, doesn't look overly shiny nor dry, and seems to not settle in my lines and texture (I'm 41, so that's a factor). This method takes away some of the simplicity I was hoping to gain with using a product like this, but whatever. It feels good, looks good, and is better for my skin than regular foundation. Some people dislike the smell–I personally really like it. I also appreciate the shade range. When I repurchase I'll probably buy one or half a shade lighter, but the current shade I have is workable given the flexibility of the product. Definitely recommend trying this (along with different application methods) if you're looking for a buildable product that feels light on the skin and has benefits you wouldn't normally find in a traditional foundation.nelope

It's so weird. I originally bought this product a month or two ago in the shade Light. I'm usually NC15 and it looked like a good match for me online. I got it, and it was darker than I thought but not outrageously so, just enough that it bothered me. However, the formula and coverage itself was wonderful and became my every day foundation even if the shade wasn't the match I wanted. So then I went ahead and bought the Fair, hoping it'd be a better match, and even if it was too pale, it's almost winter time anyway. The color match was better this time with the Fair. However this one keeps coming out dry and patchy and separates on my skin and I look crusty! I bought these two tubes mere months apart, so this inconsistency is super concerning!Janet

I am 60 years old, with dry, sensitive, post-menopausal skin. I have fine lines, redness and enlarged pores to consider, when using complexion products. My skin is light with pink tones. I look for clean formulas without chemical sunscreen. I just could not find a medium-coverage foundation that is not matte (looks dry and settles in lines) and not dewy (transfers easily and emphasizes pores). I have tried so many products, have read all the reviews, and have heeded store employees' advice. And yet, my holy grail foundation remained out of reach. Until I tried the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation. PROS: This formula grips to my primer without mottling and is not drying nor dewy. It is comfortable on the skin and protects my skin without irritation. The wear is very good, providing a skin-like finish that can handle the occasional hot flash. I was able to find a good shade match. I like the pump tube component. CONS: This product is only offered at Ulta and the brand website, so I worry about the company discontinuing it for lack of volume sales. I'll start off by saying I was NOT a fan of It's original cc cream… It was too heavy, but worse still, were the shades. I'm usually a "light" or "light/medium" and their "light" is a hideous yellow color with a very GRAY cast to it. Their "medium" is just pumpkin orange on me. So I could never find a match. On a whim, I tried their "Bye Bye" foundation in the shade light/medium though. And to my shock, this shade was pretty much a PERFECT match. So my advice is, IGNORE what they say the "undertones" are… The light/medium is NOT cool toned. If anything it is warm/neutral. And I'd look at the newer shades they make because I honestly think they are much better and more realistic looking. Also, the formula of this foundation is incredible. It is literally the ONLY thing I've ever found to replace my beloved and very expensive, Chantecaille "Future Skin" foundation. It doesn't settle into fine lines AT ALL and it looks great all day. And when I do a "half and half" test (meaning put the "bye bye" foundation on one half of my face vs. another foundation) it wins EVERY TIME! The ONLY downside is how difficult this foundation is to get out of things. It sticks in makeup brushes like I've never seen and is murder to wash out. Other than that though, this is perfection. It pairs PERFECTLY with their "bye bye" illuminating concealer. I tried their "illuminating" cc cream too and it was a glittery disaster!! But just like their illuminating concealer which has NO glitter, the "Bye Bye" foundation ALSO has no glitter– just diamond powder in it. So you get a subtle glow with this foundation with NO glittery residue!Marinajc

I've always disliked liquid foundations in the past, but this Dewy Photofocus from WetnWild is the one exception. I have large pores and combination/acne-prone skin, a fair complexion, and in late 30s. I really can't find any flaws with this foundation. I mean, it doesn't contain spf, which would be nice, but it doesn't matter because it's that good! I love this stuff. It is so easy to apply with a blending brush and a damp sponge. I bought the wrong shade at first, but corrected that immediately. I suppose the shades could be improved. Shell Ivory which is described as a "Fair Neutral" is anything but neutral. The undertone is heavily reddish. Anyway, went with Porcelain ("Fair Warm") which is a perfect match on my skin and undertone. If you are any more pale as in "Very Fair" or Fair Cool, you probably won't find your shade, at least until they might add some more. This foundation is way better than expected. In fact, the Dewy part is really just "hydrating" and it actually dries and sets without looking cracked, creased, or greasy. It has a beautiful finish, just normal and healthy. I don't use a primer or moisturizer as I don't need to with it. Although, I do consistently maintain and prep my problematic skin with proper cleansing, masks, and exfoliation before and/or after wear. I can add that it definitely evens out any redness or discoloration. It will also provide medium buildable coverage, and I always set it with a finely-milled, hydrating transluscent powder. Anyway, I highly recommend this foundation over some of the high-end foundations. It is literally that good.Megan Lopez

I have 52 year old aging skin with rosacea, large pores and wrinkles and this foundation is absolutely incredible. It does not crease, fall or look patchy throughout the day and I don’t even wear primer or setting power. I promise it doesn’t need it. It blends incredibly and the color choices work – I am pale and have neutral skin. I was getting so depressed because I couldn’t find anything (yes, I have tried them all and am currently and Estée Lauder user) that worked to make me look natural and not made up or splotchy. If I were into more of a full face makeup look, this layers nicely. I am thrilled to tears that I found this! Don’t ever stop making this formula!Poppy

This product is definitely a new favorite of mine! I am used to primarily using only high-end brands for foundation but this one may change that for me. The best things about this foundations are the incredibly beautiful finish, the buildable coverage, and the wear. Two things I do not love are the plastic paddle applicator and the smell. Upon application, the smell is a strong paint-like scent, however, it dissipates within a few minutes. Coverage is medium with one layer but can be built up to full coverage. The finish is natural and absolutely gorgeous. This wears very nicely on my dry-combination skin.miranda.n

This is my go-to foundation/tinted moisturizer!! Highly recommend. Depending on the coverage, I use this just like others would for foundation (buildable) or together with my moisturizer for lighter coverage. I like verrry light coverage products that dont cling to the dry spots of my combo skin, and this works great. I've gotten to a good place in my skin care routine and heavy makeup makes me breakout, so I love this formula because it doesn't mess with my skin. I do notice I am a bit shiny after a couple hours of wear, but prefer that rather than looking like a dry, flaky mess. I just apply a little powder when that happens and I am good to go! I've tried so many other similar products just to see if there's something else better out there, but I keep coming back to this product.ari.o

I have dry acne-prone skin and have been using this since I can remember. I always ensure I have an extra tube of Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Vanilla before one bottle runs out. That is how lovely the product is. I love that you can apply it to bare skin with just sunscreen on it first. Although it has SPF, I still love adding SPF as a backup every day 365 days a year to be safe instead of relying on make-up for my SPF. I love products like Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer because it has buildable coverage. You can really blend it into your skin for a lovely sheer wash of color as a base even using your fingers or a sponge as a tint that feels soothing to the skin or to layer it for medium coverage. If it's too dewy for your liking, you can add powder without it ever looking cakey. I love how this product is buildable with even powder products. I do recommend a setting spray or even just a hydrating mist to go over the powders to blend them in, but it layers in such a lovely manner. Remember that light reflects light so if you have some texture, this is a mineral-tinted foundation and a blurring softening setting powder may look nice over it or not so long as you don't rub it all over the under-eye area. I can give you tips for using this, but it's my holy grail tinted moisturizer foundation because of its versatility and how easy it is to work with. I recommend adding some jojoba oil onto the face if you're super dry or prepping it with a hydrating water moisturizer, but this is a product for beginners and experts alike. I highly recommend it. I have 2 bottles of it currently..and photos will be coming asap. any questions, ask away. I have not found an exact dupe for THIS at all, but the less pigment, the less texture, scarring, acne, and dryness it has to cling to. Keep that in mind when building most tints up. However, I must say that I have never seen this foundation cake up on my dry skin even when I build it up which makes it all the more unique. If you like a nourishing gel moisturizer, you will love this! It definitely is a foundation, but with added skin benefits. It's been around for years for a reason and will not be going away any time soon because it's so stunning on every skin type imaginable!abra.l

This was one of my first purchases made when switching to Bare Minerals products. I really like the light/medium, buildable coverage provided by this tinted moisturizer. I also like that it dries relatively quickly and doesn't feel sticky. I do have to be careful when using moisturizer underneath – it will often pill up – but I do like to use setting powder on top to really give that matte finish. This will be a staple product for me year-round, especially in the summer when I seem to wear less makeup.
