20 Best Sponge Mop For Tile Floors (Jan 2023 Update)

Great mop if your like fishing in dirty scrub water to find the scrubber. Or searching on the floor to find out where it scuttled off to when you try to use it to scrub off a bit of sticky on the floor. Don't they field test their designs before bringig them to market? How hard can that be if you care about delivering quality products? In general this mop does not meet the standards I expect from Quickie. The mop head itself is unnecessarily small, and the shaft feels a little flimsy. Lightweight is good but too light does not inspire confidence. The mop sponge cleans well enough but I have the feeling — possibly unfounded — that it will tear. It does wring out well though, and since soggy mop heads are a big contributors to deterioration that seems to be a plus. Basically this mop is not worth the aggravation of the scrubber. Used this mop today. It cleans pretty well but if you put pressure on it while mopping, I can see where sponge part might fall apart. The little scrubber attachment refused to stick so I threw it out. I'm curious as to how long the sponge mopper will last before it needs to be replace. If you're on the fence about this mop, give it a try.LILIEN

I ordered this mop to replace a large, cotton mop that I had to hand-wring. The old mop was too large for the area that I have, and it got too cumbersome for me to handle for various reasons. I found the Quickie Automatic Sponge Mop online and it looked like what I needed, so I ordered it. It took a while to arrive, but I was very pleased with it. It snapped together with no problem, and I mopped my bathroom floor right away. This mop gets into corners very nicely, it rinses well, and the automatic squeezer works well. I'm not sure how it would work on large areas, but I don't have a large area to mop. It works very well for what I DO have, and I'm very pleased. (Walmart also sells replacement sponges for this mop on the website.) The handle for the mop is very sturdy, and has a handy built-in space for hanging. Over-all, I think this is a great mop and would recommend it.Debbie

Most of my house is slate/tile and I have a dog. I have used erase type products on kitchen/bath but never on floor. It leaves the floor really clean. In kitchen I add little vinegar to hot water. I have a rectangle plastic container with hot water that I clean out mop in. I have a replacement top waiting in cupboard. However mop is wearing well. Don't let naysayers get you down. This is a great product and time saver. My dog was allergic to chemicals in wet jet swifter stuff. Yucky.Nana diane

The mop they sent is not the mop advertised. I received a regular sponge butterfly mop with a Magic Eraser circle on the back of it. The advertised version shows a mop with Magic Eraser material which is why I ordered it.Alan

I was excited about this mop as I had tried the Magic Eraser on my floor. I couldn't do my whole floor on bended knee and found the Magic Eraser Squeeze Mop and paid top dollar for a mop. It didn't perform as I expected, called ProcterDorcas

Good, not average or excellent. Not sure how mop can be excellent so rated it a 'Good' mop. I bought this to replace an older model Quickie Sponge Mop which broke after 12 years. I still had unused replacement sponges left over, however i found out they were not compatible with this Quickie mop model.oa

For years and years, I've been using a Fuller Brush sponge mop in this general style. Over the years, Fuller Brush got pricier and pricier for replacement sponge mopheads until finally they decided to stop making them altogether. We use this mop (looking for another one)once a week in our home to mop the kitchen floor and tile in bathrooms. The head of this mop keeps falling off and we even hook it in like we are suppose to. I would return it (I was charged $75.00)but I do not want the hassle. Strong dislike for this product.Stu

I wish I had returned this item but I didn’t know that was an option after I used it and I just threw it out. I used it on my tile floors. I read reviews on many sites and even with the few negative ones I saw decided this was worth a shot. After all, I love the magic erasers themselves. I waited for this to go on sale, because I did think it was kinda pricey for a mop, and it overlapped with a cartwheel offer for mr. clean products. This mop is garbage. It functions as a regular mom at best. I had to scrub harder with this one actually then the cloth mop I have. My floor didn’t look substantially clean and about halfway through mopping it started to break apart. The refill head are too expensive to be changing every mop cycle (I mop a minimum of once a week) and It cant even make it thru a full one. And, frankly, the product just isn’t worth it to continue buying the replacement heads.Shelby

I have only used this Eraser mop once. So far I am impressed. It seems sturdy . The eraser portion is thick and works well. I have seen other reviews that were disappointed in the mop. I bought this to use differently than many others. I use the eraser mop as if it was a Mr. Clean hand eraser but with a long handle. I have older vinyl floors that get stubborn spots. I was tired of bending and getting down on my hands and knees. UGH! I dampen(Eraser) mop to the dirty areas and then use my micro fiber mop to actually finish the whole floor. Can't believe how easy the Mr. Clean Eraser lifts those scuffs and ground in dirt. Also, some reviews complain about plastic screws to put a new mop head on. My model has metal screws so it would seem they have over come that flaw in older versions. My advice is go ahead and get this mop for tough dirt and scuffs. I bought this product for my camper awning. I was happy to see it will clean the black spots off the underside of my awning. I also don't need a ladder to reach the higher part of the awning. It was cheaper than Amazon Prime. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the shipping issues. I was very disappointed to see the way Walmart sent it to me and considering they didn't offer in store pick up, I don't know that I will order from them again. See photos below. The mop handle came through the top of the box that was poorly taped to the other box. Two pieces of tape won't hold the boxes together. Purchase better shipping boxes or take the time to get the boxes around the product. I would have more than happy to pick up at the store! The small dent isn't worth sending back, but do it right!Candi

Love this mop. Works great for me no matter what. I have been tempted and purchased other brand names but I always return to Libman. When it comes to cleaning there is no shortcut so I stick with my Libman and lots of elbow grease. So happy Walmart carry this brand at such reasonable prices.Annie

After 2-3 times mopping kitchen vinyl, the sponge comes off the plastic,…glue for it doesn't hold well. Sme happened with 2 more refills on my gator mop ! Looking for a more reliable kitchen mop !member-fbc7f1

Out of the box, I wasn't too impressed with this mop. To me, the head is kind of small, but in retrospect, I guess it is the same standard size as all other similar mop heads. I then began using it and fell in deep like. It is mostly sturdy, makes great contact with the floor, meaning that you can 'feel' it cleaning (if that makes sense) and soaks up well. It also has a really nice scrubbing brush on one side for tough or very dirty spots which works like a charm. The REAL icing on the cake though, is the wringer. That thing really wrings! And so, it is with mixed feelings that I say I would highly recommend this mop. (Mixed feelings because every time I review something so well, it seems the price goes up). 😉LilMsTexas

Love this product!! The handle has two places with rubber grip when I'm moping plus its strong and sturdy. When I'm mopping the tile floors the magic eraser is thick and gets my tiles back white & bright!! Got all the school teacher to by them to use at home. We love Mr CLEANAlexis

I like how sturdy it is, but it is a little hard to squeeze out the water. I do not like the very top of the handle, it keeps coming off while I am using item. The piece should have been molded to the item.dubaychri

It has a strong, long, metal handle, not cheap plastic like some others. The first few times it was difficult to use the ringer to squeeze out the water but, then it got easier to use. I like this Mr. Clean mop.AngelFlorida

I usually read reviews before buying things, but I was in Canadian Tire and simply grabbed this, thinking RubberMaid does at least some basic QA of products. I was wrong. As many other reviews mention, the engineering and/or parts in this product are faulty. The spray mechanism broke after the 2nd use, and started leaking. After a while it was simply POURING out so I could not use it. As the spray is built into the mop, you cannot manually remove and spray the bottle either. The item is simply plastic waste, and a lot of it. I was hoping to use it for years. This item has not been removed or from Canadian Tire after a bunch of obviously bad reviews.Red Ranger

Over the last 4 years, I’ve have owned and used 3 Reveal Spray Mops. There are many reasons to love this mop. It is easy to use and light weight. The soft cloth microfiber pad is reusable, washable and does not leave streaks on laminate floors. The refill bottle is convenient to use with your own cleaning solutions, 2-3 tblsp. of a gentle cleaner (no ammonia) with water. With some design modifications, this spray mop would be super great (!). Yes, I would buy a fourth one if available, and be willing to pay more for improvements to the basic design. Problems I’ve encountered: the trigger mechanism in the handle stopped working on 2 of the mops. The warranty replaced these mops. One of the bottles wouldn’t disperse solutions and now a leaking bottle issue has begun on my 3rd mop leaving puddles on the floor. I’ve tried a popular competitor product and find it wanting. Their throw-away mopping pads leave streaks and I had to use 2 pads each time. Their priority solution/bottle doesn’t allow using your own cleaning solution and I think their cleaner is too harsh on my laminate flooring. And you have to use 4 batteries to squirt the solution on the floor. Because of these 3 points, it’s going to be more expensive to continue using. My conclusion, if Rubbermaid were to rethink their Reveal Spray Mop design a little bit, they would have a BIG winner. Nonetheless, the basic design and its usage in my experience earns 4 stars.Carol inventive organizer

After maybe 25 uses, I discovered that the handle of the mop was slowly coming apart. I dismantled the handle, found out what the problem was (cracked plastic dowel) and fixed it with plastic glue and screws. Yesterday the handle broke again and this time I had to fix it with a wooden dowel, plastic glue and screws. My tendency in life is to fix things without having to throw away in the garbage all the time. The mop works fine now but why do you sell such cheaply made product? Rubbermaid could make it much more solid (use metal parts for assembling not plastic) and garantee it for 5 years at least and people would be happy to pay $10 more for a product that would be solid and reliable. Aside from the weakness of the handle at the joint, all other features of that mop work well.Raymond

I purchased this item and also ordered a replacement head for it, as well. I was very excited for it to come as I use a mop daily due to an elderly dog who is having accidents. Within a week the head of the mop started to become floppy (the best way that I can describe it) and almost seem to disintegrate. I thought that it might be because I was using a cleaner with bleach in it. Within days, I had stretched out to the point that I could not wring it out. I put the replacement head on and used a different cleaner that was a famous brand, lemon scent and more mild. Also, within a week, the very same thing happened. I cannot begin to describe my disappointment. Never have I written a bad review of a product. I have only written ones if a product was wonderful and I wanted to tell others. I bought the Libman Nitty Grtitty Roller Sponge Mop and maybe used it 5 times and the sponge tore loose and started falling apart. YES, I let it dry thoroughly between usages. I then bought a Libman replacement sponge roller head and put it on correctly. On my first use the roller head came loose 2 times without me moving the release on the handle. It will only stay in place if I just lightly touch the floor. The tiniest bit of pressure on the mop and the roller head comes loose. This is such a disaster and a waste of money for a senior citizen on a very tight budget.Sunny

I have been looking for a good mop for years and finally found it! You can actually wring this mop out to desired dryness compared to most mops which leave the floor sloppy wet. This mop grabs the dirt off the floor instead of wiping over it. After using this mop I know my floor is clean! I just received this mop so I can't review how well it holds up, but it seems very sturdy and the quality is great.R222W123

Almost 200 less than the Cordless Bissell! great that you don't have to sweep your floor before you love your floor with this Little Gem! And how cool that it cleans its own roller when you put it back on its base. I also get more time from mine been a lot here have said the average is around 22 minutes. I get close to 35 minutes. this says that this is the item that I purchased, but what I received was one that was briefly released before it was labeled the new model. I get longer battery life. also if you register your product and provide your email address. They mail you a free roller. Which is very handy to have one drying while the other is in use. The price is great, I don't think you will regret your purchase. and just an FYI for those of you who are complaining about how the cleaning machine leaks. I just about bet you're not using the proper cleaning solution. I tried using something with a friend and it foamed up and leaked all over. Now I only use a floor cleaning solution. I have use Great Value and it works great as well.William

The Tineco iFloor 2 is an awesome cleaner! Unboxing the iFloor 2 was very easy, and it was packed quite well. It arrived with a partial charge and lasted about 10 minutes before I had to charge it. It's worth mentioning that the device didn't lose suction or roller strength at all during this period, and the device just turned off once there wasn't enough charge remaining. So, you can expect full power up until the battery requires a charge. Once fully charged, I was able to clean the entire house with the iFloor 2, and ran for a full 45 minutes. The power indicator was still solid, indicating there was no need to charge yet. It wouldn't surprise me if a full charge could last for a full hour in some instances! We have tile floors in our kitchen and one bathroom, and hardwood floors throughout the house, and linoleum in another bathroom. The iFloor 2 worked beautifully on our tile and hardwood, removing a ton of dirt, hair, and stains that were left behind after using a steaming mop just a few days ago (see picture for gross dirt water!). Regarding the stains in particular, we have tried many scrubbing techniquest through the years but we were never able to remove them from our tile. The iFloor 2 lightened or removed all the stains on our tile! I suspect repeated uses of the device will remove the stains entirely (here's hoping!). For the hardwood, we've never taken the time to mop and instead just vacuum. The iFloor 2 made short work of the dirt on the hardwood, and even removed a layer of dirty film we didn't even know was present. Our hardwood floors have never looked so good! The bathroom linoleum cleaned up easily too with the iFloor 2, and just "feels" cleaner when walking on it than after using a regular mop. Cleaning the iFloor 2 once the job is complete is really easy too. It has a self-cleaning cycle that takes care of the hard work for you by cleaning and rinsing the roller brush. The resulting water is then collected in the dirty water bin for easy emptying. The only concern I have with the device is the charging port. It uses a standard barrel-type plug-in adapter, and it feels a bit loose in the port on the device. It works perfectly for the time being, but I just wonder how it'll hold up over time after repeated connect and disconnect cycles.Angela40

I have very mixed feelings about this machine. Ultimately I think if you’re looking for something quick and easy to clean up small messes, lightly dust, etc. this would work just fine. The suction is decent, and where it did clean, only with both mop and vacuum, it got some little unnoticed spills up and didn’t streak. The machine is quiet, maneuvers and works efficiently, and really feels nice to use. My two main let-downs with this is that it doesn’t seem to be very pet-hair friendly (despite what Tineco claims), and the machine doesn’t get close enough to baseboards/edges. I wanted to see how well the vacuum part worked without adding water/mopping. Not only was it aggravating that the machine seemed to blow air out and thus dog hair away, I couldn’t go more than a couple of passes before the machine would get clogged; I have a short haired dog and my floors weren’t that bad. It did work a bit better when I started using the water though. Next, I’ll have to go around with perimeter of half my house with my normal broom and mop because the gap of untouched floor is THAT noticeable. the closest you can get to a baseboard is roughly 1/2” on one side, and probably a good 1 1/2” on the other. What’s the point in using this thing if I’m going to have to get the big guns out anyways?Ashtan
