I don't understand where a lot of these people are saying it's greasy or it stinks. I've used this product, among other Chi products, for years. I decided to purchase this recently on Home Essentials Direct because it was a good price. It is just like any other Chi Shine Spray I've purchased from other places. I'm guessing that maybe the other reviewers are spraying it too close to their hair, and maybe the smell is too strong for them; therefore, it "smells". The scent is strong, but it's a pleasant, fresh scent. I use this after I spray finishing spray on my hair to make my hair shiny and smell good. I get compliments for how great my hair smells! So if you purchase this, be sure to spray far enough away so it won't make your hair greasy and don't over spray!! I spray it all over my hair about 8 inches away for only 1-2 seconds.K.
Chi Shine Infusion is my favorite Chi product. I use it on damp and dry hair. I love what it adds to my hair after I straighten it. It tends to appear dry even though it’s amazingly soft. The Shine Spray definitely is the finishing touch. It also does wonders for my nails cuticles. I always wind up getting some on my hands, but I don’t wash it off, I use every bit by massaging it into my nails cuticles. The smell is amazing! However, it is an aerosol can. So, make sure there’s airflow around you. It otherwise leaves a little ‘mist’ in the air around. Also, you don’t need much. If you use too much, it’ll leave your hair looking oily—which defeats the whole purpose of healthy looking hair. For some reason, it’s irritating to my daughter and makes her cough. I absolutely love this brand. Sadly, I currently live in dry desert, SDCA, and my poor DRY hair (and skin for that matter) hates me. I'm from Houston, TX and used CHI for many years due to the humid climate. Coincidentally this brand was founded and is manufactured in Houston so they know a little something about Frizzies, I imagine. I have fine, BABY fine strands and thyroid condition and I'm young 40's. ie predominately gray but color regularly. I'm unable to enjoy many products and when I happen to find one it is a struggle to find that sweet spot at applying the correct amount (or lack thereof) I've learned that I cannot use too much of anything or my hair's a mess. A work in progress would be safe to say. I am not affiliated with Chi or ULTA, for disclosure purposes. For starters the experience of using this conditioner is what's to be expected in a pleasant and predictable way. It applies easily, smells nice and clean, rinses well and a little goes a long way. Additionally it's apparently in application that it doesn't have the added SLS/SLES/Silicone, there's a noticeable absence of that synthetic slickness you notice in conditioners that harbor those nasties. I have dark, naturally shiny hair, and must admit I didn't notice any more oomph in that department regardless of if I used it with the corresponding shampoo, or with other kinds. HOWEVER I would 100% use this product again. I found my hair holds the shape I blow dry it into very well when I use this in conjunction with the shampoo. It's bouncy, looks healthy and smooth. It also plays well with the texturising sprays I use, along with my dry shampoo. My hair isn't weighed down or oily while using this which is a nice change from other shine inducing products which can flatten my fine hair. Only missing a star due to not offering a bit more in the shine department, however is not enough to turn me off the product!Ashley M.
I love the idea of more radiant/shiny hair so I was excited to try this shampoo from the Vibrant Shine range, especially as it doesn’t contain SLS/SLES sulphates, parabens or silicones and is cruelty free and vegan. I love the pink packaging and how it stands out from other products in my shower. It is easy to grip and squeeze, and I only needed a small amount to cleanse my hair. It lathers up nicely and smells fantastic; a blossomy type scent that I really love. It rinses out easily and doesn’t feel drying, though compared to the previous shampoo I was using, it isn’t as hydrating. As far as shine goes, I did notice a slight improvement but was expecting a little more (perhaps the impressive advertising increased my expectations unrealistically). I used this with the matching conditioner and spray and while my hair does appear shiner, my hair prefers the effects of my previous shampoo and conditioner (which are not targeted for shine) so it’s not a range I would go for at the time. I will definitely revisit when I colour my hair next, though, as that is one thing I have had trouble with, the gorgeous shine that comes with colouring disappears very quickly. If your main issue is dullness then I would recommend giving this shampoo a go, along with the Vibrant Shine Conditioner and 3-in-1 Shine Spray for maximum results.Evelyn H.
I love the aesthetic of the pink bottle. It really stands out in my bathroom and would in the aisle of a shop. The bottle itself is a good size and weight. I have some nueropathy in my hands and found this bottle easy to hold and not to heavy. I enjoyed this product combined a heat protectant, detangler and shine all in one. My hair is fine, double processed coloured with bleach and fashion colour so is prone to tangles, breakage and lack of shine. I also have an oily itchy scalp. This did not weight down my hair or make my scalp itchy and annoyed like alot of products do. It has a pleasant fragrance and I felt my hair was softer and definitely shiner. It was great not having to use multiple products on my hair as this gave excellent heat protection and made my tangles easier to manage. The only negative I can find for this product is the spray. I love all the products from this brand. So I have never written a bad review. I think all of their products smell so good. This product is used after you’re done styling your hair. You spray it on from a distance and then after a few minutes you run your fingers through your hair. At first it looks kind of oily but after a couple minutes it just looks shiny. This hair oil is freaking amazing. Every time I use it, my hair is so incredibly shiny with a reflective glossiness. My hair also looks much better when I use this hair oil before straightening with a flat iron. Even the texture is completely different! It feels like silk. For real. There is no frizz at all. It's how I have always wanted my hair to look; healthy, shimmering, and with a fine texture. I have also noticed that my hair color looks so much better when I use this; I can see all of the rich tones mixed throughout my dark brown hair. The only downside is that the price is a little more than I'd like! I also wish it was found in more stores rather than having to order it online every time. I was SO excited to try this new product from Amika as I usually love ALL of their products. Unfortunately this one disappointed me. It doesn't have the trademark Amika scent – it smells pretty bad and it leaves my hair oily after just a day. Wish Amika could reformulate this so it's more like the Bumble and Bumble Dry Oil I use. it's so light and you can pre spray your hair with it and use a flatiron – not just a top spray. i'm not sure what is in this spray that makes it smell the way that it does but it is TERRIBLE. It literally smells like shoe varnish. After the initial smell wears off (right before I started to get a headache) it does add nice shine, but I would spray it on well before I needed to be around other people. it's a shame because I love the signature smell. I've been struggling with my hair as I turned 50. My hair texture and hair strength has changed drastically and looks wiry but is still fine, if that makes sense. Honestly, when I use this product with my Hot Tools 24karot blow out brush, my hair reminds me of when I was younger; it's just so shiny and soft. The smell is pleasant and the only con is you do have to be careful not to add too much product to avoid greasiness appearance but only a small amount is needed to achieve beautiful results. I've been in love with the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Ginger line for years but I never knew so many of their styling products could just as amazing as the shampoo and conditioner. By the time I tried this product, I was already using 5 other products in this line. So I was pretty confident in trying it. I had kinda stop trying texturizing styling products because my hair is so fine and wavy and tangles so easy and most texturizing products weighed my hair down or was sticky or made my tangles worse or just flat out didn't work at all. I really love this stuff, but from reading the reviews I see where other people thought it was going to do much more than it actually does.. which is probably from the wording on the bottle. I've used this stuff since a hairdresser put it on my 14 year-old self and my over bleached hair. Back then, I didn't even read the bottle I just knew I could straighten the life out of my hair then spritz this on and it would look semi healthy again. NOW my hair is MUCH healthier and I probably get a bottle of this once every year. All it does for me is adds a healthy looking layer of shine to the dull spots of my hair after styling. I should have read the ingredients before buying, the second ingredient is alcohol and it showed. at first my hair looked nice and then it got almost dried out and crunchy feeling. This definitely adds shine! I've been afraid to use too much, because my hair is fine and I don't want to grease up my freshly styled hair. So possibly I haven't got as much benefit out of it as I could have done, but when I spray it on, my hair definitely catches the light more. The smell is out-of-this-world heavenly. I see a lot of people complaining about the smells of the products when I read Drybar reviews, and I wonder why, because to me they all smell beautiful. Anyway, the lovely smell together with the shine boost make me feel extra special when I'm going out. (I don't use this on ordinary days. I purchased this when I was in Las Vegas and I wasn’t expecting much. I have thick coarse hair that takes a lot of products to manage. This shine spray is amazing at not only leaves a sheen but it comes frizz. It’s also very fast and easy to use and it smells amazing. For example you could just pull it out of your purse spray it on real quick run your fingers through your hair and you will be frizz free. I will purchase this again when I run out, I love it. I’ve used this product a few times since August 2022 and it’s OK. Nothing awesome- it smooths my wavy, prone to frizz hair ok. I do agree with some of the other reviewers in that the vapor cloud is horrible- I stopped using this product when I noticed that the first ingredient listed is a fluorocarbon, a class of chemicals that can have adverse health effects. I was gifted by Color Wow with a Mist-ical shine spray. I don't like the packaging. It's not sealed, there's a chip on the cap and doesn't look new. However, it is very easy to apply. Application should be after you're done styling your hair. It's not sticky which is great. And indeed, hair shines and is very visible. Looks like my hair is wet, but it's actually the mist-ical shine. Even if I don't like the packaging, I love the effect of the product. Still they need to work on their packaging. I received this product as part of a holiday gift set I purchased at my salon. I was not impressed upon initial application as I felt like the product was simply sticky or gummy, but upon changing my application I do like this product for taming flyaways. I spray lightly into my palms, dab at my crown, and then use the side of the bottle to smooth down the hair. Super disappointed in the product. I have used other products from this brand and they have worked well. I do believe I bought this through birchbox it came with a few other products in one of there costume boxes. So I ended up with two full size bottles. Both and I mean BOTH bottles are defective. There was more than half (almost full) and they completely stopped spraying. The first time I thought the nozzle was just messed up so I cleaned it and still nothing so I tossed it then it happened again with the second bottle. Idk if it's the formula but the bottle stops working after the first use. If you get a bottle that actually works then it's a cool product and less is more otherwise you have oily looks hair. I’m now 32 still using Aguage spray using a awesome modern flat iron and I still love it. I always straightened my hair since then. I spray it on each chuck of hair I’m about to hit the flat iron. I can't love without this Aquage Shine spray. It my favorite flat iron spray. Note that a little goes a long way. I use a very light mist for each section as I flat iron and then add an all over spray when done, to add shine to my finished hair. I have full, natural red hair that has been color treated, and it keeps my hair beautiful. I get compliments all the time on my hair and alot of the praise goes to this product. Walmart's price is the best I've found and I'm thankful to have it available.Brandee

I am happy I have come across this product. It's not too heavy for my fine hair and provides enough support to get me through the day. It has a nice smell, it's cheaper than the other products I used to use. It does not spray wet either, so you don't end up coated with hairspray after spraying your hair.Natalie B.
I used this hairspray for years and it always worked great for my fine hair. I don't understand why the need to change a product that does well as is. Matrix recently changed the packaging and seems to have changed the formula too. It used to spray out a very fine mist that provided great hold, but didn't weigh down fine hair. The new packaging has a different nozzle that sprays out a much heavier and spotty spray. I actually get large droplets sprayed on my face and everywhere but where it is supposed to go. The new nozzle gets clogged easily, which never used to happen with the old packaging. I thought I was maybe mistaken in the comparison until I found an unused can of the old formula in the back of my storage closet. The difference was amazing. I will no longer be buying this product. If Matrix brings back the old packaging/formula I would reconsider, but in the meantime I have been trying out other competing products (a pricey endeavor) and have found a better product in the Paul Mitchell Super Clean Firm Style spray.AbbyD

This one was the cherry on top of the cake when it comes to making my hair oily. It was hard to wash out the next cycle and wow it sure made my smell like outdated, expired old lady perfume. Just no, whatever this scent is, they should change it and remove the ingredients that leave the film. OGX itself is an amazing brand- something to keep in mind is that I am super picky when it comes to hair products because I love to touch my hair and play with it. Scent is also very important to me as hair makes up a majority of what individuals smell when you have a lot of it- and I have a ton. I am picky when it comes to scent, and dislike most perfumes and colognes- I really only like sweet smells. This product is musky and weighed my hair down. *I will add before and after pictures, the before being about 2 days after using 2 of the products (shampoo, conditioner) and then an after photo of my hair with all 3 of the products. The plus side being the fact that my hair could quite nicely with these products. *Despite of all of this, I do fancy the OGX Oil of Morocco line, as that type of scent is SO intoxicating, I can’t get enough! *It’s too bad this product didn’t meet expectations. I used this as well as the brand’s silk blowout spray so I’m not sure how much of the result is this product or that product BUT this spray smells so so good and makes my hair feel super super soft. The way it sprays isn’t very good though, it kind of shoots out and hits just one spot. You are probably better off spraying it in your hands and working it into your hair. I wouldn’t use too too much bc I think too much will make your hair feel a bit greasy. Overall I am happy with the product and will continue to use 🙂michelle
