20 Best Spray Tan For Pale Skin (Feb 2023 Update)

My first Tax-Luxe product and I have been really impressed with this! Was slightly hesitant to use a transparent water self tanner, however this could possibly be the most convenient self tanner I have ever used (and I have tried a good fair few in my time!). The spray bottle was super easy to apply and whilst I couldn't see the product on my skin, I throughly blended using a tanning mitt and was completely streak free. I applied two light coats and ensured I blended well. Results were a lovely subtle golden glow! I loved how this dried almost instantly and I was able to dress straight away. I applied before bed for the colour to develop overnight, and pleasantly found no colour stains on the bedding. Also this product has next to no smell which is great as no one wants to smell of biscuits when self tanning! Top tip – less is more! Despite being a water, this product actually gives a really decent colour, so best to start light and build up to the colour you desire.BucksGirl

I’m a big fan of Isle of paradise tanning drops. I got the tan luxe tanning water to compare and I have noticed that the application is not as fool proof as isle of paradise. The first time I followed instructions to a t and ended up super patchy it was very embarassing. The second time I applied it out of the shower after applying a thin layer of moisturizer and it worked better but still could see some patches. Today I did the same except I sprayed from way far away. This seems to work best but so much wasted product. If you look closely you can see it’s uneven. Whereas with isle of paradise you literally can’t go wrong or look bad.tina.r

I honestly love this product. I use it on my face every other day on top of a light moisturizer and use a very soft fluffy brush to just blend it in well. It looks so natural and sprays so evenly. It’s also a plus that it smells really nice! When I used it on my body I made sure to do a few sprays and use the same fluffy brush to blend it in. I think it’s easier to spray on face and neck and chest then it is on other body parts but if you mix it with lotion it would work just like the tanning dropsmacy.b

If you have fair skin like me and want a natural looking tan, this is the product for you. If you want a super dark tan, this is not for you. There is a green tinted guide color in the mousse to help you apply evenly so you will look extra dark and streaky until you rinse off in the shower. Once it washes off it's obviously lighter but more natural looking. Then it gets a little darker over the next 8 hours or so. The people complaining about it being streaky when first applying and color washing off in the shower didn't read the description on the bottle because it's supposed to do that. Also yes, I agree it is sticky and has a smell until you rinse off but I've never tried a self tanner that doesn't have that. I put on loose clothes after a couple mins despite the stickiness and have never had issues with transfer. I always apply it when I plan to not leave the house for a few hours. I've tried a lot of self tanners and have stuck to this one for the last year because it's the easiest to apply (because of the guide color), has the best end result color (not orange), and I like that I only have to have it on for 3 hours. The self-tanner itself is a fantastic product. Beautiful and easy to blend. And simple to put on. The smell is passable-neither its fantastic not awful, but it doesn't matter. I have really sensitive skin and its gentle on it. Neither a burning not itchy sensation. Didnt produce any inflammation or pain. The tan has a nice, silky mousse consistency. Sharp lines are simple to perceive, and you can tell where you have applied it. Many additional tanning treatments,including ad moisturizers, make it difficult to detect where you have applied them, preventing the formation of sharp lines once you have browned. You have varied time restrictions while using self-tanner depending on the shade you want. If your skin is very fair, one hour will give you a faint tan. It takes 2 hours to achieve a lovely medium look, and three hours to achieve your distinctive look if you have dark skin. Other then that, the self-tanner is a simple and quick product. I first tried St Tropez about 15 years ago when self tanning at home started to trend more, it was the best then and it's the best now. I've tried all the major brands over the years, the expensive £30 ones and the cheap £5 ones and none of them compare to the OG – St Tropez. The formula is so silky it simply glides onto your skin and blends so well with a mitt, it really is fool proof. It smells nice as you apply, it's not overwhelmingly fragranced. I won't deny there is the tell tale fake tan smell as it develops but I just think whatever brand and whatever the packaging boasts you cannot get away from the smell, however with the St Tropez it isn't as strong. I leave it on overnight as I like a darker tan which this achieves without looking orange. It develops to suit my skin tone. It fades pretty evenly without going patchy, but you often get a build up in the creases of your body, again that's the same with all tan so I often scrub these areas a bit harder of loosen with a body oil. I bought this item thinking it would be an easy alternative to rubbing in self tanner and having to pay for new mitts since this one says it doesn’t need rubbed in. That was a huge mistake, it definitely needs rubbed in and runs so bad. It also is quite orange and dark so it was a huge change compared to my natural skin color, which i was not expecting since it was in the color medium. I was never a huge self tanner fan but with the growing concern of skin damage/cancer its definitely a preferable option to get a tan opposed to salons or direct sunlight. I was still hesitant when about using this, I've only ever had bad experiences with self tanners and I've tried some pricey brands. I was pretty suprised when I actually liked it. I didnt love the application process (as I never do) it's a little messy, stains your hands, and I don't like smelling like self tanner for hours afterwards. With that said, this oke wasn't "that" bad compared to a lot of others I've tried. The scent wasn't to bad. The thing I loved the most about using this though was the results and why I gave it 4 stars. I was noticeably tanner after just one use and the color I got was not orange or fake but rather a natural healthy glow. Loreal has definitely stepped up there game and came a long way.amie.m

No streaks, blends well, beautiful color. I love the tanning foam one hour express. If you aren’t an experienced self tanner/ pro at your application, get the foam over the aero. It dries, but not as quickly as the aero so it gives you more time to apply and blend. I love how a little tan foam goes far and how buildable the tan is. I’m fair so I look my most natural golden tan with one coat. For beach days I have done two coats and you do get noticeably more tan!! While you can rinse the product after 1-3 hours, your tan will still take 6-8 hours to fully develop on your skin. I’ve slept in the foam 1 hour express and I’ve also rinsed it at the 2-3 hour mark and you get the same color so I really like having the option to rinse the tan before bed if I choose or to just fall asleep knowing my results will both look great. Apply tan to top of hands last and rinse hands at about 30-45 minutes if you plan to leave the tan on for 2-3+ hours. That’s worked for me to get the color balanced and blended with my arm color since hands absorb the color so quickly. The tan fades so well!! I get 4 great days before fading begins and can stretch it 7 if I incorporate the gradual tanning milk. I apply the tanning milk with the tanning mitt to keep my palms from the tan and it works great. And most importantly the one hour foam express doesn’t have a funny smell that lingers with you for days after!!Rachael C.

I have been using fake tan for years. I am naturally fair skinned and my go to fave has always been the Bondi Sands Ultra Dark mousse. I only tried the Ultra Dark foam because the mousse was sold out and the foam was on offer, so thought I’d give it a whirl. I’m such a fan of Bondi Sands Ultra Dark foam (and mousse) Compared to other brands, it creates a deeper looking tan (no orange!) and it wears off evenly, which I really like. No patchy knees or ankles. Compared to the mousse, the foam dries a lot quicker. I like that too. No sticky feeling, it absorbs really well. There’s also less transfer onto clothes / bedsheets, before that morning shower. The only thing I have found (and this is simply user error, not a complaint!) is that I create a ball of foam to rub on myself, but as I rub it onto my skin the foam ball sometimes drops onto my carpet. I’ve applied the tan on two occasions and now have 4 splodges of tan to scrub out of my carpet. So maybe do smaller squirts of foam? For me though, this is the best tan out there at the moment and it’s not even that pricey compared to some of them.Lois

I don't really need any help in the suntan department as I have an olive complexion and tan very easily with little to no sunburn . However, I don't always have time to sunbathe and it's not particularly enjoyable during the summer months because it's JUST. SO. HOT!!! So, when I found this product, I was ecstatic. It's like a mouse so it goes on silky smooth . When I purchased my first can of this product, it came with a mitt for easy, even application. I apply it after a shower , allow it to dry before getting dressed, then go about my day finishing up household chores or scrolling through my instagram feed . Then, after about an hour , I rinse off quickly and glow. It has never left streaks or uneven splotches on my skin . It makes my skin soft and supple and it looks marvelous! I only reapply very few days and I've received lots of compliments on my tan ever since I started using this product!Liz

Ugh, it's so hard to read through all the positive reviews from people who received this product for free, who of course are going to write a positive review because they didn't spend their actual money. I DID spend my own money on this, and this is by FAR THE WORST Isle of Paradise product I've used so far. I love IOP products, and this ain't it. The spray nozzle sprays EVERYWHERE except your skin. It's not a nice mist, it sprays in a circle that misses your entire leg. Hitting all over the floor, and now you have an oily floor. Don't step in that, because 1. it's slippery, and 2. your feet are going to be brown! Secondly, you have to constantly shake this to ensure the oils are mixed to be activated. So every few seconds you're shaking, and spraying, shaking and spraying. Then comes the issue with the bottle doesn't work if you're spraying upside down. Which if you're a normal person trying to apply, you're likely bending over and applying to your legs, lower abdomen, etc. And therefore the bottle doesn't spray. Whatsoever. Then comes how sticky & tacky this feels. It doesn't sink into the skin nicely. At all. It stays sticky & tacky feeling. The smell is the normal Isle of Paradise smell. But VERY quickly fades to a fake tanner scent… way quicker than normal. I gave it two stars, because the tan developed and looked nice after the fight with it. But I would not recommend this product, and will not be buying this product again.rrroxanne

The best quality about this product is that I’ve experience minimal transfer onto clothing and the application is wayyyyy quicker than mousse or lotion self tanners. However, in order to get a noticeable tan you either have to really saturate your skin (which kinda wastes the product) or go a shade darker than normal, which is what I’m gonna do for my next purchase. Unlike other tanners I’ve used, this one doesn’t look like a “stain” if that makes sense. It seems to evenly apply and develop more naturally than the mousse products I’ve used. Mind you, the only other tanners I’ve used are jergens and Hawaiian tropic, both of which are way cheaper, and this product is a mist, so there very well could be other most products with better results. Especially since this mist has possibly the worst application on hands feet that I’ve ever experienced lol. I’ve learnt to just use a gradual tanning lotion for hands/feet for a better application. Overall, it’s a decent product and fades gracefully relative to cheaper products. A little pricy for the quantity you get (it has lasted me about a month and a half only applying 1-2 x a week), and the bottle is the dumbest shape ever and you can’t set it down properly when applying it due to the rounded shape. But it’s super convenient to use and it looks really even/natural, so for that I’d say it’s worth it. Just maybe consider going a shade darker.brookhr

First time use 1.don’t use this on your hands feet or face. 2. Use sticky pads on your feet or wash the bottom of them with soap after spraying. Trust me haha. 3. I used gloves as some other comments said they had to use so much product. I barely used that much, and it evenly rubbed in. Basically spray in sections (upper body) rub rub rub- then arms- rub rub rub etc. 3. This is not drying so far. I left it on over night. Rinsed in the am (don’t use soap first wash) just rinse and use an ultra hydrating moisturizer while damp. I actually don’t feel dry or have that burning feeling after as I do with some. 4. When done, use a damp wash cloth to hit your elbows wrists ankles and knees to prevent deeper color. 5. I did use this on my feet and hands. I did moisturize them prior too. It looks bad. Very splotchy and uneven. I normally use a blending brush with a color guard light tanner on my hands and feet for this reason. So skip your hands feet and face so you don’t have to go through the dreaded scrub off with dove for 3 days. 6. I will add the scent is horrible. It does not stick after rinsing. So today, it’s actually probably one of the least smelling tans that I have used, but while wet it absolutely smells horrible. The good news is that is doesn’t stick and has almost no smell after rinsing.bridgetybee

I tried this product and was so excited at the ease to apply and that i could get my sunless tan on from home. I found the directions to be kind of confusing, but the bottle stated to come here for extra tips. I was hoping for maybe a video or more clear explanation, but don't really see any helpful or extra tips here. So, I tried to the best of my ability to apply evenly, but found it hard to tell since it sprays clear so there's no guide. It seemed dry after a few hours, and I felt like it had turned out okay. However, the next morning I woke up to see awful streaking all over my arms and legs and realized I looked ridiculous. I even tried to have someone else spray the paler spots for me so i could even it out, but felt it made it even worse. I figured I must've applied wrong, even though i tried my best to spray all over and even to correct the areas that seemed unsprayed. I want to try it again, so I have tried searching everywhere for a tutorial of how exactly to spray to avoid streaking, but can't find one. I hope to try again and hopefully have better results, but wish there were more tips for a better experience provided like stated. I know I didn't miss that many areas so I assume maybe I sprayed too closely to my skin in some places. I love bottle tanning. I like to have a nice tan in the summer and I've long since stopped going to tanning beds. So I like to experiment with self tanners. I typically use a gradual lotion tanner in late spring just to get some color on my legs. My legs just never tan well in the sun. Once summer starts I move to a medium self tanner on my legs a couple times a week and whole body once a week to two weeks, my arms and face do pick up the sun easily. I do like a micro mist tanner. I used this for the first time and the color was decent. A light golden brown. A little blotchy, but first time applications usually aren't perfect. It did take a while to dry and even after an hour my legs still felt tacky. Tried it again. Lighter application. Took my time. Still took ages to dry. Did it several hours before bed. The next morning, horrible streaks and patches. Large patches of skin with no color whatsoever, even though I made sure my legs were completely covered. Decided to exfoliate in the shower and even things out. As soon as I got under the water, color poured off my legs. It looked like I was pouring self tanner down the drain. Didn't even need to scrub my legs, just washing them removed every bit of color. I gave this two stars because the color was a nice shade, but I could not get this to work for me. I pitched the whole bottle and I'm trying something else.heather.a

The stuff inside the can is awesome. Too bad you won't be able to use it. Because the spray nozzle has a mind of its own and just stops working. You'll be throwing away or returning two out of three cans. And by the way, this is not a new problem. I had the same problem with this product four or five years ago. Thinking the product couldn't POSSIBLY still be on shelves without them having fixed it I decided to give it another try. Sure enough, the second can I bought – defective nozzle. And think about this. Even if you're the luckiest person in the world and you never get a single defective can, how much more are you paying than what you should have to, to cover the cost of retailers having to handle all the returns of their defective cans? It's so much wasted money, so much wasted time, so many wasted cans going into landfills, that instead of micro mist, this product should be called macro waste.Michael

In reference to my title "why are you so orange?" this was a question posed to me by my grandmother when she saw me this morning and sadly I'm in agreement with her HOWEVER it doesn't mean this is an entirely bad product and I will explain why. Firstly and perhaps most importantly (for me anyway) is Bondi Sands stance on what it means for a product to be pure… with the rise in products containing natural ingredients, being vegan friendly and containing responsibly sourced ingredients brands have started demonising chemicals such as parabens and fragrance which are perfectly safe for use on skin by calling them "nasties" and "toxic". Bondi Sands Pure pertains mostly to it's responsibly sourced and recyclable packaging saying that you can pop the bottle straight in the recycling bin when it's done, they've also made it clear that the ingredients they've left out are ingredients that are troubling for some individuals such as fragrance- some people find fragrance triggers migranes for them for example but fragrance is of course skin safe. It was refreshing to see a well known brand being responsible with the word Pure and what it means for their products. Now a little disclaimer before I talk about application, I did a weeks worth of preparation, I moisturised daily, exfoliated a couple times, shaved and made sure dry areas were moisturised prior to tan application but I do have an ongoing issue with Keratosis Pilaris (KP) think chicken skin but as a skin condition. I've had this since having my baby last year and I'm trying to tackle it but this can be an issue when it comes to the overall finish of a self tan. The instructions are printed crystal clear on the back of the product's very attractive bottle, nice easy steps, just squeeze straight onto the skin and distribute in sweeping motions using a mitt. The thing is the formula doesn't contain a guide colour so it's very tricky to judge where you've been and whether you've put enough on certain areas, this was a particular problem when it came to my wrists, typically I would use a large buffing brush and using a small amount of product I would blend the product into my wrists, hands, ankles and knees, this has always worked well for me but I kind of felt blind with this product. The formula has no artificial fragrance it just smells of chemicals but in a good way, initially I couldn't detect the typical stuffy self tan smell but as it developed and even now a few days later I get little a whiff of it here and there- nothing on the level of a typical self tan though. Alas I was satisfied that I had covered the whole of my body and waited about 5 minutes before I felt it was "touch dry" a vast improvement on the 15 minutes I would wait with a typical self tan. About 3 hours into development I didn't really notice much of a change, I'm quite pale normally and I still felt quite pale, I could detect something of a glow on my arms but nothing much was happening below my shoulders. After about 6 hours it's like I went from subtle glow to errrr… tanned we'll say- LOOSELY. The colour didn't develop very evenly, there were the tale tale signs on my wrists and my knuckles, my knees were a bit of an obvious giveaway, the colour didn't take to some of my mid section particularly well, there are bands going across my tummy that took the tan and there are bands that are paler. I didn't take the product to my face, instead I opted to use the spray and I'm pleased to say both formulations worked in cohesion with eachother, there were no obvious signs on my neck that show any sort of shade intensity change from where I used the spray, it just blended together nicely. The thing is though I could be quite happy with the faults this product has presented, from the tale tale signs on my wrists, knuckles and knees to the awkward banding on my torso, but the developed shade is not suited to my skin tone. I'm pale, there's no two ways about it, I'm usually one of the first three palest shades in any foundation with a tiny bit yellow warming me up and this product is quite obviously orange on me, not offensively orange where I dare not go out in public but enough to know I'm getting ribbed about it by the family, I'm more than happy to see this application through to the end without hiding though. The tan started to crack on my hands within the first day due to covid hand washing, this can't be avoided but I'm pleased to say that the tan is holding up well, it didn't obliterate into scales despite the continued washing, and as promised by the brand who says the transparent formula means it won't transfer onto fabrics I can hand on heart say this has been true for me, I sleep in white bedding, wear white sports bras and white tops and haven't found any transfer. If you're already somewhat naturally tanned this will be a great product for you, but for me the shade was off and that's quite a significant factor in a self tan, it also made my KP appear a lot more red than usual. I received these products for free from Influenster and Bondi Sands in exchange for my honest review. The packaging is very innovative and represents the brand well. The smell is very pleasant not overpowering like many self tan products. There is no pump as such and so I found the liquid didn’t turn into foam each time I tipped it down so need to be quite careful when applying but the bottle is quite handy and easy to hold. There’s no colour guide but I don’t believe it’s needed with this product, it makes it easier to dress up straight after the application without colour transfer. Big plus! The application was easy, I used a mitt and buffed the product in circular motion. It dries very quickly which is amazing, there is no sticky feeling like with some other tanning products. Colour was nice I have far version but it’s very golden and natural. It doesn’t dry out the skin, there is a little smell the next morning as it develops but nothing major or disturbing. Definitely can tell the ingredients are skin friendly and skin care like. Overall I recommend it the only con is the applicator as the water is runny so you need to keep tipping it up and down to get the right amount of foam. I did use one coat only and I feel that’s more than enough. I love the packaging is fully recyclable. I would probably prefer it to be c-through so you can see how much product is left but it’s not a big issue. I’m impressed with the results. In comparison the other Bondi Sands range I find this range the best as it’s not as drying and the results are more even and natural. Highly recommend.iwona.h

I followed the directions on the bottle exactly, between using the right hand motions to spread out the product, how to prepare skin beforehand and how long to leave it on. 1. while putting it on, it was impossible to tell where I had already applied the product (like, if I had any missing spots) because it goes on clear. 2. I used the same level of darkness I always use in the foam version. This product turned me carrot orange, and literally is impossible to scrub off my skin. I've been using self-tan remover every single day for a week, and its still super patchy, ugly and not budging. I work in a hospital, so I'm constantly washing my hands and using heavy-duty sanitizer. I have a nickel-sized spot of tanner that somehow ended up on my palm. I have no idea how its still there. 3. it said to wait until the product was touch-dry before putting on any clothes. It took me 45 minutes to an hour, standing in a well-ventilated room, in front of a box fan, before I was able to dress. The bottle said 15 minutes.. I swear I didn't over apply any product, I have no idea why it took so long! Very disappointed in this product. I always loved all of their other ones, but this stuff is useless and a waste of money. Hello!! I have been self tanning for about 40 years yes I’m that old!! Anyway this is the BEST SELF TANNER I’ve ever used I mean it!! And it’s affordable. The spray nozzle works upside down sideways it works. The color comes out beautiful if you layer it, you can darken it and it continues to darken it dryS QUICKLY!! I’m telling you people you need to try this if you don’t like pale skin or need to even out your town this product really really works!! This product produces a fair color, however DO NOT use this product if you have not applied spray tan before. It takes time, effort, and a steady hand to create an even tone. Color goes on fast and heavy so there is little room for error. I reccomend to everyone treating this product similarly to a Mystic Tan: exfoliate first & allow 8hrs for your skin to dry; hold at least 10 inches from body & use a tanning glove to remove excess; use a blow dryer if necessary; even your color by using a natural lotion over your entire body once tan is nearly dry. **Witch Hazel always strips a bad tan. **Windex will give you a quick fix for stains on the hands.emilros_34

If you asked me which products I’d be inclined to buy stock in, or ask for a share in their company, my pasty self would without hesitation tell you “tanning products”. I have tried hundreds of self tanners, and I’d be willing to bet you couldn’t name one I haven’t tried (seriously try me). With that being said, I now label myself a “self tanner connoisseur”. Its been a long splotchy, and Orange Road learning to differentiate between the tanners that make you look like an Oompa Loompa vs. the ones that make you look like a glowing goddess that just landed back home from her lavish vacation in Fiji. I digress. THIS product has surpassed my insanely high standards with flying golden radiating colors. Whether you need some color instantly before a night out, or you want to deepen/luster up your already tan skin, this is the product for you. After a few sprays of this gold in a bottle, you achieve a deep bronzey tan that has NO orange or ill undertones. Also, It dries within minutes so you won’t have to prance around your air conditioned house in the nude for a half hour. Another added bonus, it lasts for a few days with no reapplication. The single reason I deducted a star is because when you wear this, you may want to avoid white. It will transfer when you sweat, and if you’re wearing a white top/white skirt you will end up looking like a hot brown stained mess. Overall I definitely recommend for my pasty girls. Xosamantha.l

The 'Classic' shade is the perfect color for light/fairer folks! Most tanners come out super orange on me, this one is the least orangey I've come across. Even better than when I tried a full spray tan. You MUST use a mitt, it's the best hack ever for a smooth application and I wish I would have known about them years ago! Would have saved me from many streaks and dyed palms. It also allows you to get a clean line along/under the jaw, which creates a natural looking contour since I don't use the tanner on my face. I prefer a foam to an over-time lotiony type, so this is perfect for me. It darkens a bit over time, but since its mostly instant you can see any unevenness as you are applying. Exfoliate/shave a day or two before. Pile on lotion to elbows, knees, ankles right before applying. Foam goes on decently non-sticky. Buff buff buff with the mitt, circular motions going with the grain of any body hair. If you do get any spots on the fingers/toes, wipe with some nail polish remover right away and that should take any color off. Color lasts at least a week+ if you are careful to not exfoliate much.Katy

I'm liking this for quite a few reasons. It's easy to apply – much easier than the lotion and dries pretty quickly (less than 2 minutes on my skin). Not pricey, maybe a bit more than other tanning lotions and products but it's definitely worth paying that small amount extra as when comparing it to other brands; this product has the least streaking and most natural looking color, not orange, just a nice golden hue. Bonus: there is no funny smell left on your skin once you have washed it off. I find one full bottle lasts me for approximately 6 full body applications which makes it more than worth it for me. One comment mentions that this tanner “washed away” when it comes in contact with water, and another mentions the “green tint” they got. These are not product flaws, that’s literally what it’s supposed to do. There is a purposeful tint that acts as a GUIDE for application. It’s SUPPOSED to be slightly greenish and it’s SUPPOSED to wash off lol. The guide helps you see where you’ve applied the tanner so you don’t miss a spot or don’t blend somewhere. The color develops over 8 hours (when it shouldn’t get wet), then you rinse or wash the guide color off. Very simple instructions on the bottle that explain that. That being said, St. Tropez is among the best self tanners available. I’ve been using it for years and years and it’s still my favorite. I’m pale with red hair and blue eyes and burn very easily, so I layer on the sunscreen, but I hate being pale/basically translucent. So I use St Tropez year round. One application every 3 weeks or so in the winter, and every 1-2 weeks in the summer (depending on how dark I want to be) helps me easily maintain a natural looking tan that’s long lasting. I honestly might buy two of these jumbo bottles. I’ve only ever seen this side during the anniversary say and it’s a fantastic value. One bottle should last me the rest of the summer and the other hurtle for fall-spring. Usually I buy a new bottle every couple of months! First, the application is fine, it’s a wet formula and goes on well. The smell however is awful, not just while it’s on, but for 48 hours and two showers later bad. I actually felt the need to apologize to people for how I smelled. My husband said it was disgusting. I have tried about 15 different self tanners for reference so definitely not a newbie. I had to put the color on two days in a row to get a tan, and then even now I’m not very tanned, hence the low rating. If I’m gonna smell the product should at least make me dark, and this fell very very short!!! I’m impressed with how natural it looks on hands and feet, and the color is at least a good color not orange, but if you want a dark tan, this is not for you. I also don’t want to bother with a self tanner that requires two applications for little payoff. I’m truly disappointed. I also purchased the ash one and I am hoping it’s better for color depth, though now I haven’t the highest hopes. I also ordered the coconut water one almost 3 weeks ago and it is lost in the mail with no communication from the company on what they are going to do to rectify and ensure I receive my product. It’s also a mine tan product, but it’s not for tanning, it’s just to improve the skin. I really like it, but for some reason it causes my skin to break out. I've been trying to find a good replacement for my (previous) favorite I can no longer buy. The journey was rough, but this color is amazing. You could also totally wear this out and about and not look dirty. It didn't fade as evenly as I would have liked, but the color alone is worth the extra upkeep. Alright, you see the splotch on my thigh? (Ignore the leg hair lol) That's 1 spritz from the recommended distance of 6 inches, and I used a ruler just to make sure. I'm gonna recommend spraying from a bigger distance because the liquid runs down if you're too close. When I spray my face, I do the whole arm's length away, kind of holding it a little above me. But I absolutely would not recommend using this on the body. I don't know what it is, but on the face it kind of evens itself out. On the body it comes out in these splotchy circles. Maybe it would work if you just spray a bunch of times from every angle but I'm not risking it. Like I said, it runs down if there's too much in one spot. It's weird calling it a "mist" because it does not come out as a mist, it's just too forceful of a spray. I might try transferring to a different bottle. As for the smell, it's alright. Someone mentioned it smells like a public bathroom or something, so now that's in my head. I prefer the biscuit-y smell of my Bondi Sands lotion. I'd give it 1 star for the body, but I'll leave it at 3 stars because it does work well enough on the face. It just wasn't the wonder product I thought it would be. Also worth noting denatured alcohol is the 2nd ingredient, so if your skin is sensitive to it, be aware. But that is what makes it dry faster, which is convenient. I added a photo of the dot on my thumb because at some point when I was test spraying my thigh, I didn't notice I got it on my hand. Maybe the nozzle dripped, I don't know. So be aware of that too. Yep, this is awesome. I want it in a huge bottle. It gives a great natural color and doesn't really stink like other tanners when they develop. You can get a great color with just 1 use. Application is so easy. I use it all over my face and body. I was buying Loving Tan brand products but then tried this and the B Tan foam and it's definitely a money saving 'dupe' for the same color payoff.dana .d

Wears under makeup, does not have a smell, matches my body tan and looks amazing like I am wearing foundation. I love this stuff but it does take a lot of sprays to get color. Color goes on fast and heavy so there is little room for error. I reccomend to everyone treating this product similarly to a Mystic Tan: exfoliate first & allow 8hrs for your skin to dry; hold at least 10 inches from body & use a tanning glove to remove excess; use a blow dryer if necessary; even your color by using a natural lotion over your entire body once tan is nearly dry. **Witch Hazel always strips a bad tan. **Windex will give you a quick fix for stains on the hands.emilros_34

Whether you need some color instantly before a night out, or you want to deepen/luster up your already tan skin, this is the product for you. After a few sprays of this gold in a bottle, you achieve a deep bronzey tan that has NO orange or ill undertones. Also, It dries within minutes so you won’t have to prance around your air conditioned house in the nude for a half hour. Another added bonus, it lasts for a few days with no reapplication. The single reason I deducted a star is because when you wear this, you may want to avoid white. Y’all – lemme be the first to say, I’m PALE. Like, avert-your-eyes-this-girl-will-BLIND-you pale! My dad is fully Indigenous, but I unfortunately did not achieve his natural brown glow. On top of that, I am a uh, rather curvy girl. Pale + blob is not attractive! No bueno! With that being said, I've never done self-tanners before. I’m rather clumsy, and these things just don’t work for an ol’ girl like me. But y’all, I stuck this stuff on with the Bondi Sands mitt and I suddenly looked like a bronze GODDESS – like I wasn’t just sitting on my couch watching My 600lb Life and eating Panda Express, but instead was soaking in the rays of the brightest sun in Myrtle Beach! It dried quickly, so I stuck on a gigantic 6X shirt, and went to sleep. When I washed it off in the shower the next morning, some of the darkness *did* go with it, but I was still left with an absolutely GORGEOUS tan! I no longer look as if I’ve sat in a basement in all of my 27 years, my skin smells great, and my dad can finally claim me as his daughter again without getting second glances. In short – BUY IT! I’m 5 days in and still glowing. I was very skeptical going in because everyone knows the Instagram world can hype things up. I did see a few bad reviews and videos but I decided to take a chance and I am so happy that I did. First off the smell is exactly as they describe a coconut scent and does not have the fake tanner smell. I purchased the Mitt to apply it with and this foam applied like a dream. It does dry fast so you do have to work quickly. The instant bronze color guide helps you not miss any spots along the way and is a brown olivey color. I found that its best to apply in front of a full length mirror.The next day when I washed it off I was shocked with how even streak free and natural looking it was. I had shaved the day before and exfoliated that morning and applied to dry skin that night with the exception of lotion on my knees ankles etc.. It started to fade after a week and what surprised me even more is that it did not have those weird looking areas as it was fading, it was a very natural fade.After about 2 weeks it was completely faded. I want to address the biggest complaint that I had seen about this product and that is that it not as dark as the color guide. This is true it is a little bit lighter the next day but the color you are getting is still a nice bronze, its not drastic omg I lost all my tan. Its a slight difference. If you are looking for something that is super super dark then this is not for you.\n This is a very nice natural looking tan with some decent color results. The one tip that I saw that I do agree with is to apply to your hands, feet, and face with a makeup brush just to get a little more flawless application on these particular areas. I also purchased the daily tanning lotion to help extend and use in combo but I wanted to use this product by itself first to see how it went. My only complaint,The tanning moisturizer pump was completely snapped off in shipping when it arrived so I havent used it yet. I have tried almost every single self tanner out there. So whenever there is a launch for a new product I instantly become excited and put it to the test, even if I suspect the results wont be too great. To be honest, I had no idea what to expect with this Aerated Foam tanner. Ive tried regular foaming mousses, mists, dry oils, gradual tanners and old school spray tans, but never anything as cool as this. I was pleasantly surprised!\n\nThe application was a breeze. The aerated foam just glides on the skin and absorbs so quickly. I was touch dry within seconds. I used the Bondi Sands double sided tanning mitt to apply and the colour guide was like that of the regular Dark foam that seems to be everyones fave on social media.\nI did my full body in under 15 minutes and during the time it was developing, the signature Bondi Sands coconut scent was present. After a few hours, the subtle coconut scent stuck around, though I could not smell that typical DHA biscuit-y smell that can be nauseating with other self tanners. HUGE PLUS FOR ME… as I am extremely sensitive to certain smells. Ill be honest, Im not a big fan of anything with a "coconut scent" however this Aerated Foams scent does an amazing job covering up that DHA stench. \n\nI slept with it on overnight then washed it off the next morning. When I jumped out of the shower I was a healthy olive toned colour that looked amazingly natural. As a male who is extremely pale, with visible veins and an almost malnourished natural complexion, I need a tanner that can cover all said imperfections yet is also subtle enough that people wont comment or notice that it looks fake or too over the top. This tanner is my answer for all of the above!\n\nMy tan lasted about 4-5 days until it faded evenly all over my body and did not leave me looking splotchy or with dry, irritated crocodile skin.\n\nOverall, my new holy grail self tanner! 10/10 🙂Jason

I’ve loved this stuff ever since I bought my first bottle. All you have to do is spray and Pat in the product. It gives you a beautiful glow on your face, neck, and declotage, and it will give your skin a natural, beautiful glow. Mine tan has actually skincare ingredients within, so your pretty much getting the best of both worlds. The bottle used to be a lot bigger, so I do run out quickly. I haven’t been able to get a new bottle, until I see. Mine tan was having a 50% off sale, so I grabbed one for 10$ and was very happy. The spray is beautiful, and doesn’t leave you orange at all. I spray tan, so this is an added bonus to the glow from the outside and within added to it. I love mine tan products, and I highly recommend this bonding facial mist. It’s great for all skin colors in my opinion. It doesn’t smell strong, and it goes perfectly with my olive skin tone. I am on my 4th night of applying the Illuminating Rose self tanner mist spray. I love this stuff. The mister sprays a nice soft mist. I go to bed wake up with a nice glowing tan face. It looks like I spent the day at the beach. My face matches my body. I can't put the self tanning mousse products on my face. One it looks fake and two My face breaks out. I haven't broke out from the Illuminating rose self tanner mist spray, so far. Fingers crossed that it won't clog my pores. There is no smell to it, so thats a plus. I will be purchasing this product again. Only down is I wish the bottle was bigger. I have really blond hair, I wrap my hair in a towel then mist my face and neck. You must cover your hair for it will stain it. Also wipe your eyebrows off once you mist your face for they will lighten with the spray. I highly recommend this product I just saw the new Cucumber face and body tanning mist spray. Curious to read the reviews on this one.Debbie L D.

This is the worst self tan I have used. I am an experienced tanner and have been using tan religiously for years. Yet every way I tried to apply and prep my skin underneath it always turned out patchy and orange. It clung everywhere and the colour was very yellow/orange looking, which made me look ill. It’s very obviously a fake tan and doesn’t look like a natural tan at all, I had to attempt to cover it with heavy foundation all week. It took forever to try and get off and it didn’t fade evenly either, making it look even worse as it wore off. It also has a weird off-putting smell once it has developed, not a usual fake tan smell. I tried this along with two shades of the minetan tanning foams, which I also didn’t like as they looked very orange and unnatural. So many better facial tanner brands out there.S

Nice and light! Super easy to apply too. Very forgiving, and no streaks. It’s not super dark, perfect for getting a nice sun kissed glow, but it is buildable. Also haven’t noticed it rubbing off on clothing!raegs

At first I was sceptical to think that this face tan water worked… but this definitely proved me wrong ! To start , it was very easy to apply .. all you have to do is put the product on a cotton pad and wipe it all over your face and neck , just as if you were using toner. Within 3-4 hours I developed a tan. Many people around me told me that I looked darker and asked if I went tanning !! That’s how nice the colour was ! I usually tan throughout the winter months to maintain color but due to the lockdown I haven’t been able to . This definitely replaces a tanning bed and I will never enter a tanning bed again! This is officially one of my staple products. I use this on a regular basis and consistently get compliments! During the winter I get extremely pale and this just makes me look healthy and bronzed. It also makes my makeup application look flawless! During the summer it evens out my complexion out and maintains my natural tan. I have definitely seen a difference in the way it is applied. I 10000% recommend applying it with a makeup brush (I have dedicated one just for this product) that way I get everything on my face evenly. When I used to apply it with my hands, I would use up a lot more product and wouldn't always get the result I wanted in one shot. I also recommend putting it on at night after you have showered to let it process overnight. The smell is the only thing I do not like. It definitely has the "tan" smell that can be somewhat overwhelming. It is the most potent when applied and fades out over time. I had a hard time getting the lighting right on my face to show before/after pics but I put it on my hands to show the effect it has! I have oily skin and am naturally an olive toned girl. Anyone who has olive skin knows how pale they can get during the winter! The Bali Body Water Face Tan is by far the absolute best tanning water I have ever used. I do not tan my body as my tan usually lasts it is only my face that is the problem but also sun exposure for your skin is terrible. The Bali Body Face Tan mimics a real tan the best I've found. Your tan doesn't look orange, it looks bronze and natural. It also doesn't cling and darken any previous scarring from spots or acne too. It smells like Rose Water, and when I first put it on it seeps into my skin and doesn't look shiny at all. Only around the 4-6 hour mark does it develop and inevitably as any tanning product does, there is some shiny residue on the skin. For the price point it's genuinely great however I do wish they had an option of a bottle larger than 100ml. One thing to mention is that I recommend using this tanning water daily for best results, but you will still achieve an amazing outcome if you use it every 2-3 days as recommended! Bali Body have done an outstanding job with the formula, wish I could have an endless supply of it haha please never discontinue it!Leeno J.

I have mixed reviews on this product. My husband is a red-head and extremely light skin. The coloring on him looks fantastic. However he takes 2 showers per day, because he goes to the gym daily, and this coloring only lasts 3 days on him. I have used other tanning solutions on him previously and they lasted for about a week. So, the color looks good on him but I have to tan him 2 times per week. I am a brunette and tan easily. The color is very dark on me but also washes off too quickly. The only reason why I would not recommend this product is it does not last long enough.foxrandall

I have used Norvell a few times now. However, with any sunless tanning solution, you have to be extremely careful when applying it. I have still yet to figure out the best way to apply this to dryer areas of the body, and it not turn an orange color (even with using a barrier cream). Even when I do not directly apply it to those areas, the mist will still make those areas dark.katie katie.k

Wonderful bronze color with a bit of purple undertone. No orange-ish tones at all. Lasts at least 10 days on body. The best feature is that the color on my face is realistic and I have oily skin. Most solutions turn my face an odd color or wash of after a few days. This lasts about a week and fades naturally. The salon I went to used this solution but at $25 a week, it was budget busting. We decided to buy a machine and try at home. Results are the same and the price on Ebay makes the monthly cost less than one trip to the salon.
