Had the bike for about 2 months now. It’s a great bike, except the distance meter control box already broke and now it’s making this really awful grinding noise. Reading the other reviews this seems like a common problem. I assembled it by myself with no problems. The parts fit and lined up well. It is a sturdy bike, it doesn't flex or bend under my weight (203 pounds). The pedaling action is smooth and very quiet. This exercise bike is in every way perfect to get enjoyable workouts. It is compact by just removing a pin and pushing it into the 2nd hole so that nothing flops around when you move it on the wheels on the front. The wheels don't touch the ground until you tilt the bike so it is steady when you are riding it with all 4 round rubber pads on the ground. The quiet noise level when working out is the most enjoyable experience as I can watch movies (old Maverick cowboy movies) with the sound not turned up. The peddling motion is really smooth and the readings are easy to read and I can keep my pulse rate right where I want it to be. It takes up very little space when stored up right and is easily moved and fairly light. It takes a 270 lbs man riding easily with no problem. The cost was lower than expected for this quality of a bike. The seat is adjustable for 5' 1" to 5' 7" or 5' 7" to 6' 2". My son in law is 6' 2" at 270 lbs and it works perfect for him. I bought my machine after having a right knee replacement in April 2021. After the recovery I had to have the same knee replaced again. So I started using the machine again. We suspended our membership at the local gym because we're both in the high-risk group for COVID-19 due to our age. But I didn't want to sit around doing nothing for a few months, so we went looking for home alternatives. Since we expect this event to be relatively short-lived, and we don't have a lot of spare room for a full size recumbent bike, I began looking at these mini exercise bikes. We settled on this one. Ordered it on the 14th of March and it was delivered on the 18th. Easy assembly – put on the pedals (one is threaded for the left side and the other is threaded for the right), bolt on the legs, put a AAA battery in the timer and screw in the resistance adjustment knob. That's it. I have big feet so I didn't install the pedal straps, but you can if you want. All the tools necessary for assembly are included. Understand a few things going in. This isn't a $3,000 spinning bike you see on all the commercials. It's a small unit with a smaller flywheel inside. The pedal spin diameter is more like you'd find on a 10 speed bike. But it does the job. Rotation is smooth and the resistance knob makes for easy adjustment of difficulty. I put it somewhere around midway to start and sat and pedaled for an hour. At first I wondered if I was getting a workout, but within 10 minutes my pulse was up and I began sweating. After an hour I knew I had exercised. Seems to me this is a very good alternative for us right now rather than going to a gym where people continued to gather in close quarters. This might end up being my new favorite machine. Though not silent, it's pretty quiet and I was able to watch the morning news without blasting out my bride with high volume. The unit has a good weight to it, but it does seem to walk away from me on carpet a little big. I might end up finding a way to secure it to my chair while I pedal, but in the meantime I just pause a moment and place it back where I want it, and get back to pedaling. I like the size and weight of the Stamina cycle. It is challenging to get your feet in the stirrups on the pedals because they constantly flip upside down. Things that could be improved in my opinion – make the end caps fixed in place so that they don't flip over when moving the unit; the pedals would be better if they were metal rather than cheap plastic and if the stirrups were sturdier. Also, it would be nice if you had some way to mark what resistance it is set at so you have some idea of how much resistance your are getting. For the most part, it runs very quietly, but I am concerned that sometimes it squeaks when pedaling. I don't want that to become a permanent thing. We love, love, love our Schwinn 170! Although I originally envisioned myself using it every morning and encouraging my husband to use it with a grudging acceptance or avoidance, my husband has taken to riding this every day of his own volition; he puts an iPad with hockey or uses the Explore the World app on it and has been increasing his time each day by another 5 minutes. As one who never used to want to go to the gym to work out, this choice on his part is incredible and so inspiring to me. I am using it as well, and it is fantastic, especially with the individual user profiles and a ton of other great features that make it my favorite exercise equipment. If you are on the fence about getting one because you have a significant other who may be in the same mind, this may be what turns them around to getting a good regular workout. Not being so familiar with the price of these bikes, I initially thought the cost might be a little high, but after doing my research, I can definitely share that the features are excellent and the Schwinn quality is something I feel confident in over just getting a $200 bike that will fall apart within a year and then leave me high and dry without any recourse. Also, I can honestly say that if you don't desire to use an appliance because it lacks appeal, you have wasted your money anyway, and the prize is in the regular use of this bike. I wanted to buy a bike that would help me lower my blood sugars. I live in a cold and snowy climate so during the winter you can not get out much for exercise. And I did not want to join a gym. So I researched upright stationary bikes. This one came up as one of the good ones. Things I like are the weight limit worked for me, Sturdy even if I get moving fast, quiet, and has some pre-programmed settings. The one thing that could be worked on is learning how to use the program settings and all the bike does. I had to google youtube and watch people's videos to understand the settings. I did order a seat thinking it was a bigger seat for the bike and it was the same size. In the description, I assumed it was an upgraded seat . I will keep it though because if there is one thing I think will break down it will be the seat, as I am not a small person.Exercise wont kill me
I looked at the full range of exercise bikes ranging from $150 to $3000. I was looking for something similar to the ones I have used at health clubs in the past (in the cardio area not the spinning rooms). Nothing fancy, just one that offers simple workout routines with various workout levels and tracks your calories, distance, etc, doesn't require a tablet or phone, and doesn't break the bank. Ive had this bike for about 6 weeks now and this is exactly that. It's well built, comfortable, easy to use, compact, light and easy to move around, and affordable. If you are looking for a spinning style bike with a weighted fly-wheel (ie Pelaton), this is not it. If you need live instructors or virtual rides on a large built-in screen, this is not it (although this does connect with the Explore the World app that syncs with the machine and you can do virtual rides on your phone or tablet). If you are looking to spend a lot of money for the bike and additional monthly fees for the live workout subscriptions, this is not it. This is just a great, simple exercise bike at a great price. Also, it is easy to put together. All the tools are included and it takes about 30-60 minutes depending upon your skill level. Several people have posted Youtube videos of how to assemble it which made it even easier. At the time I bought it Target had it on sale and with the red card discount it was the best price. I've only had it a few days so I can't say a lot about it right now but so far, I'm really liking it. It was easy to put together and figure out. You do need one AAA battery for the digital part that tells you calories burned, etc. It's small and easy to just fit into a corner or where ever you need it to be (I keep mine off to the side, next to the bed just so I can make sure I remember it every day). I got this because I needed to move more. I am someone who is heavy and knew I needed to begin the process of working out and losing weight but had no interest in traditional ways to lose weight except for maybe a treadmill and/or a bike (stationary or regular). As someone who also has anxiety & depression, that can make getting outside difficult & with this pandemic going on now, that makes it even more difficult. So, I finally gave in and bought one of these. You can either pedal with your feet or do it as an arm "workout". It does say to use shoes while you use this. I'd just suggest an easy pair of "cheap" slip on's that you may use just for this. Which I happened to have had. A pair of shoes that were extremely uncomfortable to walk in (didn't know that when I bought them as I bought them online) but they work perfectly for this. I also have issues with my knees (weight & I hurt them some years back) and also my left calf (charlie horses, etc) so I have to be careful. I can use this in the comfort of my home without worrying about cramping and if it does happen, I dont have to worry about falling off of a bike or having to work on getting off of a treadmill if I were out or even at home if my leg began cramping. One thing that many may not like but you get used to is it tends to catch or pause a bit when you peddle. You can do it while watching t.v., on the computer (with the right type of chair) or almost anything where you are in a comfortable sitting position. All that said: I love it so far!Bridget
The shipping of this product was remarkable it was here two days after they told me it was going to ship and wasn't suppose to be here until this week. Putting it together (Pedals, Straps, Legs) was a piece of cake. I will say that the rubber grippers on the bottom of the feet come off very easily, every time I go to move it. When you tighten the tension my machine seems to make some off the wall noises like something is banging inside the unit or like something is about to break. I back off the tension and it goes away but that just defeats the purpose, Right? I wish the pedals were a little wider, not just a narrow bridge. My biggest pet peeve is the display. I set my google home for 30 minutes of music and when I'm done it says I have only done about 25 minutes. This makes me wonder about the distance and the number of steps as well. One last thing is the distance is in meters. I'm in the US and I don't know what .331 meters translates to unless I look it up on my phone or computer. 1. If you buy this, you will need a AAA battery for the score keeper. 2. This gadget wobbles from side to side making vigorous foot pedaling almost impossible. I tried it on a hard floor, on my (thick) plastic chair mat and on carpet. It gripped the floor best on carpet. But it still wobbled. And don't try to use it when sitting on a chair with castors. It needs to be much heavier to be useful. I tried tinkering with the tension but there is no tension setting where it doesn't wobble disruptively. 3. I bought this for my mother (63) who moved to FL and had since become pretty idle which isn't good. While she was here she was walking up to 5 miles a day but she moved there and walking ceased, some weight was gained, stamina decreased, body aches returned/got worse, she started needing her and it just wasn't good. Idle bodies break down, probably especially older ones. So I figured that since she sat around the house, she could at least 'move' while sitting, get those legs working again, regain some stamina, burn some calories, tone some muscles and it might improve her body aches (she has arthritis in her knee, reduced cartilage and sometimes gets those gel injections), etc. Well, she loves it! She's had it 2-3 weeks and began a routine 2 days after receiving it. She uses it 4-5 days a week and her goal was to get to 10,000 reps/cycles a day within a month and eventually use it for her arms too; well, she's at about 7,500-8,000 reps a day, using it for arm exercises too, her knee pains have decreased, she can make it up the whole flight of stairs without getting winded halfway, she hasn't needed her cane since after about a week or use, she said she feels better and more so, it has stopped her from being so idle. This product is even better because it is lightweight and folds for portability, but also because of it's low price; I wasn't concerned because it was inexpensive, I look at customer reviews for products and go from there. I would recommend this product to others and am highly considering buying it for my 'other mother' who recently retired and who I don't want to become idle when she relocates, but I also think it's good for myself while I'm just sitting around watching TV, more so since I'm inside so much more due to current events and restrictions.ariespoet
I thought I was going to hate this machine. I LOVE IT. It is light-weight and easy to carry and does not take much space. This machine is great for people just starting out on an exercise regime. It is particularly good for elderly people to help keep them moving. The monitor works well so it is easy to keep track of progress. The downside is that the machine creeps forward when in use. I solved this by placing two rubber door stops behind each side of the front bar and two rubber door stops in front of the rear bar. Other than the resistance being poor and the creeping, this machine has merit for beginners, elderly and possibly those with ailments that would benefit from pedaling motions. Great buy for the money! Very sturdy. I did have to move the felt pad box back to center up with the adjustment handle bar. I drilled a new hole in the felt pad bracket to move the entire felt pad bracket back just a little bit. The adjustment tension handle bar did not line up straight into the center of the resistance felt pad box when you turned it down. When you turned the adjustment handle down, it did not go down exactly into center of the felt pad and it was pushing down only the front side of the felt pad. I was not getting the resistance that I needed. But, i centered it and fixed it.. Maybe other machines will not come like this. But, this is a great buy. Well built bicycle.Gregory
They may seem minor to some but I didn't purchase the bike only to receive defective parts. First off, I received the shipment 2 days earlier than expected so I'm happy about that. It took me roughly 2 hours to assemble. The instructions were okay to follow, not very complicated. Moreover, after I finished assembling, I got on and didn't like the pedals too much so I unscrewed the part that goes around the toes. Now I can use it barefooted. Butttt, one of the screws wouldn't budge. I mean exactly what were they trying to do screwing it so tight that I ended up stripping the screw?! I'm just glad the other end of the strap was not attached. Hence I was able to take out the rest of it and left the little end piece. Another issue I have is the foam on the bar handle. It's kinda big deal to me because I can see it. It's right there in front of me. The foam at the top isn't fully pulled up so the gap annoys me. And lastly, I agree with the other people, the seat isn't very comfortable but it's bearable. Also, I noticed some minor dents on the cover of the wheel. Not a big deal because it's not very noticeable and it's out of my sight when I'm on it. But nevertheless, I love it! It's simple and functional. I could careless for the monitor not being all fancy. As long as it tells me the time, calories, and distance, then I'm good! I hope it'll last longer. P.s. I've attached a photo of the handle, and after taking out the strap of the left pedal.Ross
I have had this bike about a week and have put maybe 100 miles on it or a little more. This is a great exercise bike for the price. It was not hard to put together. It has a good solid frame and doesn't rock of wobble. I am about 160 pounds so can't speak to how it is with more weight than that. It is lacking some of the adjustments that more expensive exercise bikes have but does have height and forward / backward adjustment on the seat. It also does a good job at easily adding resistance to increase the difficulty of your workout. The computer is basic in that it includes current speed, time, calories burned and distance ridden. You reset for the next ride by holding the button down three seconds and all values return to zero. It does have a bit of a hum but if you are looking for a bike to sit on indoors and peddle to get some exercise or an inexpensive training bike for those rainy day, this just might be your bike. If I had paid $800 for it I might have given it a lower score but for $130 It gets 5 stars. If I had it do do all over again I would buy this same bike.Satisfied

Had the bike for about 2 months now. It’s a great bike, except the distance meter control box already broke and now it’s making this really awful grinding noise. Reading the other reviews this seems like a common problem. It’s still rideable, just have to jam some paper in the belt area to get rid of the grinding sound and now I’m keep track on distance and time on my phone. Really bummed about it.Erin

This my first time owning a stationary bicycle and I could not be more pleased with it. Assembling it was very easy, it comes with two tools, an open wrench and a hex key wrench, that's all you need. Super sturdy and very well made. The box that it came in, I was able to fit in the back seat of my Honda accord and I was able to carry it up to the the 3rd floor apt, via the stairs with no problem. It weighs approx 45-50 Lbs. but the straps (two) that hold the box together make great handles and it easy to carry it. So far I'm loving it. Oh one more thing, the picture doesn't show it but it comes with a back support pad plus rear handles and a pair of resistance bands with handles right below the handle bars. You can really get a good cardio workout. I would definitely recommend it to any one looking for an affordable and solid stationary bicycle.BobC

I am so so happy with this bike. I am 75 and put the bike together by myself in about an hour. Directions are really clear; take your time and enjoy the process of putting it together. Bike is so quiet and very smooth ride. Love the scanner that includes heart rate, miles, calories, time peddling. The bike is really sturdy and fits in an 18 inch square space when closed. Very easy to close and open. Yes, pull the pin to open and close the bike……there are two holes that line up for open and close position. The seat is also really comfortable. The Prop 65 label is like a noisy alarm that rings equally loudly about smaller amounts of low-risk substances and huge amounts of potentially harmful chemicals. The labels don't say how much of the chemical is present, or how much it would really take to make a person sick." And one key word is "might"! Most items should probably have this label on it! All the toxins we purchase is outrageous-but unless you are licking, consuming, or eating the paint chips, etc. the worries should be labeled but it's safe to use. I bought this bike after I waited too long to buy the recumbent bike and it sold out. I didn’t want the traditional style bike because I felt my caboose was too large for it and the bike seat would be uncomfortable. This model was also on sale with free shipping and against my better judgement I purchased it for $129 pretax and no shipping. I am incredibly glad that I did. This was quick & simple to put together. Anyone could put this together! The directions are easy to read and specific, and there aren’t a lot of parts to decipher what is what or where it goes. The hardest thing for me was deciding what level to choose for the seat (which turns out to be generously sized and comfortable)! It’s compact and light enough to easily move and I’m amazed at how quiet it is! I am 49, 5’1” and my weight was up to 215# when I bought this. There are 8 tension levels on this lil home bike. I started at level 1 for 5 minutes at the beginning of January. It’s now the middle of February and I’m at level 4 and I ride for 45 minutes a day or longer. I’ve lost 20 pounds and 15 inches of fat so far. In the end, I’m glad I had to get this style bike because I don’t feel that I would have worked as hard if I had or had as many moving body parts if I had purchased the recumbent bike. The digital screen is easy to read and use. I hope this lil guy goes many more miles with me and I highly recommend this bike to anyone who wants to exercise and doesn’t want a large piece of equipment or a large price tag. So far so good. Have owned bike about 3 weeks now. Easy assembly. Bike is quiet. Solid 35 lb flywheel. Bought it to stay in shape while we’re all sheltering at home in April. I bought my own bike pedals so I can use my special cycling shoes. If bikes at One**** are a Porsche, this is like a Toyota. Very Good, but not the best. This does not have a magnetic tension mechanism and uses the traditional pads if that makes a difference to you. Overall…. I recommend… it’s keeping me in shape until I can take my RPM classes at gym. Excellent value for $$$. Hope this helps.betsy

Assembly wasn't terrible, although mine came missing the small screws to attach the screen to the handlebars, I can pick up at the store. I had low expectations for a spin bike that cost under $300 and it still has managed to be underwhelming. It was incredibly difficult to assemble, especially the part metal pieces that hold the seat. We ended up breaking the plastic piece that it slides into. Still, it was a cheap bike and it worked so we kept it. After only a couple of months the screws that hold the seat no longer hold it steady, the “computer” that comes with it is so cheap and poorly constructed the backing doesn’t even stay on. Even the stickers they put on it are peeling off. There’s more, but I think I made my point. Don’t waste your money.Lynzie
You get what you pay for but this is not even worth the 300 something I paid for. I purchased this a few months ago and have had less than 20 rides, doing standard spin class rides online. This bike is a piece of junk. I have spent hours trying to repair it, whether it was replacing the stripped crank or having to fix the belt on the inside of the bike. It is useless now, and cracks and creaks each time I ride it and it is not because I am too big for it. It is not a smooth ride whatsoever, and the resistance is essentially all or nothing. Completely not worth your money. Please do not make the same mistake I did…I am now out of 300 that I could have put towards a Schwinn.jessica
We like this. Pretty simple assembly; fiance and I got it together in about 15 minutes. I like the way they did the frame; they have bolts with square tops so they lock in place while tightening the nuts. If only we could get motivated to use it more often.I'm pretty tall and have long legs, so the elliptical radius could be a little longer, but it's not too bad. Just feels like I'm taking shorter steps than I'm used to. Because of this, I can tend to get it to wobble some if I get aggressive in my workout, since it's on carpet. I don't think it'd move at all if you install it on a flat surface. It's absolutely perfect for my 5' 6 love of my life, though. Good stride and super stable. We've both lost about 10 lbs since we got it 3 months ago.The display isn't flashy, but it provides a lot of info at a button press. It's quiet too, we watch netflix while we exercise, and my rowing machine is louder than this thing. You get a low hum but we didn't need to turn up the volume on the TV at all.
