Very disappointed with this item. It does clean cat messes but not dirt from carpet. Also, what is in the box is not what is pictured on the front of the box. The brush attachment shown is black with a clear front adn 3 rows of red bristles, actual attachment is all clear and has only ONE row of bristles. The attachment is also supposd to have a button to release if from the hose. There is NO button! You cannot remove it unless you pry it off with a screwdriver! The box shows a button and the instructions also show a button. You are supoosed to remove the attachment & hook the hose to the machine to run water through but you can't take the attachment off so you can't clean it. Using a screwdriver to pry it is going the break the cheap plastic attachment. I did try to contact Hoover but the bot said it was too busy and booted me off. When purchasing anything I expect to receive what is pictured on the box not some other cheap junk. Disappointed!!DawnyLouWho
Love this wet vac! We just got a new puppy and the only handheld wet vacs like the discontinued Bissell we had in the past are impossible toclean. They don’t come apart like they need to. This Hoover is bigger, but just as portable and does a MUCH better job than the handhelds. It was super easy to set up, and I can’t believe how easy it is to clean after use. The hose cleaning feature is phenomenal and is one of the main reasons I got this over the Bissell Little Green Machine. Well worth the investment to keep my carpets clean while puppy learns how to comply with socially acceptable bathroom norms. I have owned this unit for 5 years after previously owning a Bissel Little Green Machine (the Bissel nosel stopped spraying after a couple years, and unit would constantly leak). About a year ago I noticed it was getting more difficult to place the handle back in the holder (the hose did not stretch as far as it used to). I didn't think much of it, but then. Few months ago I noticed that the hose tore near the sprayer. I loved using this machine, therefore I wanted to try fixing it without having to buy another one. I used hockey tape and that seemed to do the trick. Then about a month ago, I noticed that the hose has also torn right at the base (I am unable to fix this with tape unfortunately). I wrote Hoover about this, however, I am far out of warranty, so there isn't really much they can do. Now I'm trying to decide if I should buy another one or try something new. I noticed another customer also had the same problem with the hose tearing, so obviously my issue is not isolated.Kryss

The Hover PowerDash GO Pet + Spot Cleaner is a handy tool for easy pet mess cleanups. It is compact and stores nicely. It is great for spot cleaning like the name implies, it's even good for larger jobs if it is all that you have. The cord is a bit short, but again great for small jobs. Upholstery cleaning is a chore I don't enjoy so don't do often, I was amazed at the amount of yuck it removed from my ottoman, and pleased with the fresh scent it left behind. The included instructions could have been more informative but I managed to figure things out. The attachments are easy to install, remove, and clean. The hose is not easily removable, you have to unscrew a part from the bottom of the unit to get it off. I wanted to rinse it out before storing but it felt like too much work. The dirty tank holds quite a bit and is super easy to clean when you're done. It seams to leave a lot of moisture behind and I had to turn the suction off to scrub. My ottoman is puffy and soft so it was hard to get a good clean without the solution getting sucked out. I have an elderly dog and have been hand scrubbing pee spots for quite a while, I thought I was doing a good job but I was so wrong. This spot cleaner really gets the mess out and leaves your carpet fresh. I would definitely recomend the Hoover Power Dash GO Pet + Spot Cleaner to anyone with pet messes, it really does a great job. First off this works great for cleaning up small messes and stains before they set. It is not a carpet cleaner which is what most complaints I have read talk about. This Spot cleaner does exactly what it says. We have been using this spot cleaner for about a month and have had no complaints. It has strong suction and the pet scrubber it comes with works great when dealing with both messes from our kids and from our pets. We have 3 kids 2 cats and a dog. The one reservation I had when I first got this my biggest concern was the lack of a fresh water reservoir. I soon found that for a majority of messes it is not needed. The carpet cleaning formula that came with it does a great job of releasing the stains and smells. I have cleaned up pet and kid urine, vomit, and spilled drinks. A couple of times I have needed some fresh water but all I did was take a cup of hot water to soak the spot with. The Hoover spot cleaner has a large dirty water reservoir and handle this just fine. Another thing I have really liked about using this cleaner is the spots dry much faster as there is much less liquid used in the cleanup. We keep this primarily in the car which works great as it is small in size and can run off our power inverter really well. They really did a great job with this one. It is very sturdy and well built and everything comes apart to clean. The biggest problem I have had in the past is not being able to open the dirty water compartment up completely to clean. It ends up stinking and growing things. With this one the top opens completely and I just put it in the dishwasher. The scrubbing and sucking head comes apart as well. Had a pest problem. Vapamore cleaned any remaining boric acid I had in carpet. Never again will I use boric acid. It is difficult to remove and can poison you after you think you have vacuumed it up but not all comes up even after several vacuums. We purchased this carpet cleaner based customer reviews. We are not disappointed. It has lived up to its expectations. I cannot believe the amount of dirt we removed from carpets we just wanted to 'freshen up'! The reservoirs are easy to fill and empty without spilling dirty water.
I decides to invest in a more heavy duty carpet cleaner, since we just got a puppy this spring who has been struggling with potty training. We have consistently had three dogs and two cats for the past decade, and they have done a number on our carpet, especially in the spring when snow melts. We typically have our carpets professionally cleaned once or twice a year, and that hasn't really been enough. Plus we have a basic hoover carpet cleaner that didn't seem to do much. After using this beast of machine it's an absolute game changer. We have older carpet and some rooms are almost 30 years old now, and they have seen a lot. This machine is basically doing as well as some of the professional services we have hired. Some stains are just never going to come out, but this did a great job at make some of them more faint. The other thing it does it has been pulling up really embedded hair and dirt. I basically spent the first three days. Cleaning and then letting it dry to vacuum up pet hair it was pulling, and the water was still pretty dirty after the first few times. I have allergies to dust and cat hair, and I'm literally feel like I've been breathing bettdr for the past week. I included a couple photos one of a bad coffee stain from a few weeks before I go this cleaner, and had tried to clean with my hoover. The other of our couch cushion where our dog likes to lay. I feel like everyone should have this in their homes, especially if you have multiple pets. I've tried a few of the bissel cleaners and the best one by far is the ultra concentrated version, although I wish it was cheaper and sold in a larger bottle. My only con really is that it's fairly heavy to move around. Other nice thing is it's very easy to dump and clean the machine as well, and straight forward to use.

I am amazed at how effective this machine is at cleaning up even very old pet stains from carpet and mattress topper. I have two chihuahuas that occasionally barf on the bed or my carpeted bedroom floor, and sometimes they will pee too on the carpeting. I of course blot up as much as possible when this occurs but it was still gross. Not bad enough that it stank to high heaven or anything but the beige carpet looked gross with lots of little spots and definitely needed a freshening. I couldn't believe how immediately this machine removes the pee and barf stains!! Even ones that were really old, even got old bile stains out of a white mattress topper-quickly and easily. When I first got the Little Green I used it primarily for cleaning spots on area rugs. It worked well, but always leaked every single time I used it. The suction is pretty weak for a carpet cleaner…I have even done a thorough clean of all the tubes and nozzle to make sure it was 100% clean without any blockage. After not using it for 6 months (and misplacing the water nozzle and suction brush during a move) I replaced both items through the Bissell site. I once again made sure all compartments were clean in the machine before use. Now when I use the machine the dirty water excessively leaks from the bottom (or some area at the bottom of the machine) and the leakage has gotten EXTREMELY worse. I ended up having to place the machine on a heavy duty trash bag on top of a high absorbent mat. When I use the suction, there are LITERAL BUBBLES coming from the bottom of the machine. NOTHING is going into the dirty water tank. Before anyone asks, yes the suction top on the dirty water container is closed and all items are in the proper place. So moral of the story is that instead of having dirty water in the designated tank, it is now pooling in the trash bag. After tonight I will NOT be using this product ever again. So, since receiving my Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaner, I've been busy! It cleaned my stained, oversized ottoman. We've had that ottoman since before My grandson was born; it's a family favorite. Car seat stains from transporting grand babies and teenage grandson were especially bad in the passenger and back seats of our two cars. Some stains were bad enough to need a second treatment but that's ok! Those stains are now completely gone and we've saved hundreds over having the car carpets and seats professionally cleaned. I bought this product in May 2021; its performance was as I had hoped until August 2021 when it starts making a loud high pitched sound when power it off. Immediately, I think it's a belt, so I go online and look up parts and support on Hoover.com. After searching exhaustively and not finding a way to troubleshoot this, I emailed Hoover support and they replied back with only one option, a replacement; who can argue with that? I did as asked and sent screenshots of the machine model # and manufacturer's code as well as a photo of the cord cut off from the broken machine. I was instructed to wait for the replacement to arrive and discard of the broken machine at that time. When the replacement was in, I completely disassembled the broken machine with hopes of finding a way to repair the new one in the event it stops working. I was appalled by what I found- of the dozens of screws used to hold this machine together most were rusted. I get it, it's a carpet shampooer which means water is involved so rusted screws will happen, BUT, 3 months from purchase, I don't think that's okay. Also, the motor was rusting and there was a white gasket or belt that was obviously not fitted properly, because it looked stretched and melted to the motor. So the replacement was as expected, it worked fine until this morning when it started making that high pitched noise just like the one I purchased in May of this year. It's Oct 2021, 3 months ago it was replaced. In 6 months I have lost faith in the Hoover quality I was accustomed too. I grew up using only Hoover products to clean our floors. My dad said "Hoover never breaks." The proof was there as we used our personal Hoover machine to clean the floors of our church twice a week plus our home at least twice a week. I do not ever remember mechanical issues or replacements of those machines. The two machines I have used recently, are only used to clean the carpet in the living room of a one bedroom apartment. Both machines were treated with kid gloves by cleaning all detachable pieces on every use. I'm not sure how this will be resolved so I will gladly edit this review to include a resolution to my satisfaction when this matter is resolved. Such a disappointment.David
I went from Hoovers Smart Wash Pet to this one. I hated the previous one from day one, but I used it until it exploded dirty water all over my carpet. We live on a farm, dogs, grandchildren and my husband make it impossible to live without a carpet cleaner. Now, as for the previous model, I never felt like the carpet was clean, stains always reappeared and I questioned how the little amount of water could deep clean my carpet. When I needed to replace it I decided to skip all the bells and whistles and return to the models I actually got results from and this was it. My carpet is finally clean! Yes, it’s smaller, yes you are going to make several trips back and forth dumping and refilling. Yes, the cord could be longer and that’s why I gave it 4 stars. The extra work, to me is worth it because I can actually see, with this model, that the carpet is rinsing clearly. It puts out enough water to actually get down in the carpet and the suction is really pretty good.
I spent hours reading reviews of different steam cleaners on multiple sites. I chose this Hoover knowing there were two risks based on those reviews. One, the machine would leak from the bottom. Two, it would stop working after only a few uses. I had hopes that neither of these would be the case because the good comments far exceeded the negative ones. But within 15 minutes of using the machine it began leaking profusely from the bottom. Called Hoover who confirmed it is an internal mechanical issue and could not be fixed. It does have a warranty so I can get a replacement but what confidence is there that this problem won't recur with the new one?? So frustrated. I am moving in three-weeks and need to clean the carpets for the next person – the warranty process would take past that amount of time. My only negative is the extremely limited instruction sheet. I was provided with a hand tool hose assembly…. But there is absolutely no mention of it in the "instructions". I paid a carpet cleaning service last year and this steamer cleaned my carpet even better! I’m so glad that I invested in this cleaner. All heavy traffic areas are clean now. I have a small apartment but went over each area slowly as opposed to what professional cleaners do so if you have the patience, you can have a professionally cleaned carpet. I wish that I took a before pic to show you how dirty the carpet was but trust me, you won’t be disappointed. I also thoroughly cleaned the cleaner after finished so that in the next 6 mos. to a year, the cleaner will still be in brand new condition. I used a small amount of Hoover paws and claws soliton, oxy clean, downy fabric softener, and dawn 4x dish liquid to the gallon of hot water. I refilled once and this throughly cleaned my livingroom and bedroom carpet. This saves me a lot of money. Hope that this helps!Michelle
This Hoover was my favorite. However not even a year later actually 6 months later it started to leak water now I have dirty water and clean water leaking everywhere. . Before this I loved this machine I’ve brought so many cleaning machines and thought that for sure I’d be buying Hoover from now on. However the hose leaks mine gets stuck just doesn’t stop spraying water till it’s ready to which I was over looking that but now that I have to keep two big towels so that it wouldn’t soak my hard wood floors just to clean one spot from my pets I gave up . Very disappointed with this item. It does clean cat messes but not dirt from carpet. Also, what is in the box is not what is pictured on the front of the box. The brush attachment shown is black with a clear front adn 3 rows of red bristles, actual attachment is all clear and has only ONE row of bristles. The attachment is also supposd to have a button to release if from the hose. There is NO button! You cannot remove it unless you pry it off with a screwdriver! The box shows a button and the instructions also show a button. You are supoosed to remove the attachment & hook the hose to the machine to run water through but you can't take the attachment off so you can't clean it. Using a screwdriver to pry it is going the break the cheap plastic attachment. I did try to contact Hoover but the bot said it was too busy and booted me off. Love this wet vac! We just got a new puppy and the only handheld wet vacs like the discontinued Bissell we had in the past are impossible toclean. They don’t come apart like they need to. This Hoover is bigger, but just as portable and does a MUCH better job than the handhelds. It was super easy to set up, and I can’t believe how easy it is to clean after use. The hose cleaning feature is phenomenal and is one of the main reasons I got this over the Bissell Little Green Machine. Well worth the investment to keep my carpets clean while puppy learns how to comply with socially acceptable bathroom norms. I have owned this unit for 5 years after previously owning a Bissel Little Green Machine (the Bissel nosel stopped spraying after a couple years, and unit would constantly leak). About a year ago I noticed it was getting more difficult to place the handle back in the holder (the hose did not stretch as far as it used to). I didn't think much of it, but then. Few months ago I noticed that the hose tore near the sprayer. I loved using this machine, therefore I wanted to try fixing it without having to buy another one. I used hockey tape and that seemed to do the trick. Then about a month ago, I noticed that the hose has also torn right at the base (I am unable to fix this with tape unfortunately). I wrote Hoover about this, however, I am far out of warranty, so there isn't really much they can do. Now I'm trying to decide if I should buy another one or try something new. It didn't take long for the carpet cleaner to arrive. I was very pleased with the way it was packed in the box. There was no messy, bulky Styrofoam for me to put in the garbage. The machine was packed with recyclable box board. The machine works great. It lifted up ground in dirt that I've never been able to remove before. The noise is not objectionable. I really like how the machine can also be used for stairs and furniture. It's like I got two machines for the price of one! The only shortcoming is that the soapy water tank is too small and when using the shampooer I can't see how much solution is left in the tank. Overall, I'm really happy with it.
I'm not sure what happened in the world of steam cleaners since 2010… but in 2010 I bought a $150 steam cleaner that could hold around 2-3 gallons of water. This one can hold maybe half a gallon? On top of that, there is no separate container for the cleaning solution, you just mix it with the water. So if the rinse water has soap in it, how exactly is it rinsing the carpet? I have a small hallway in my house that I had to refill 4x because for every 4 carpet drags the water would run out… this is unacceptable.
My 97-year-old father lives next door to me, so I'm responsible for the upkeep of the carpet in both of our houses. I am not one to write reviews, but after this experience, I will never buy another Bissell. I have owned several Bissell carpet cleaners over the years. Most last a year or two before needing a new one. We have 3 kids and 2 big dogs, so we make a lot of messes. I bought this model thinking we would have a solid carpet cleaner for a couple years. While it cleaned my carpets, the clean water/solution had to be refilled many times per room even though it has a big reservoir. I had trouble with the dirty water reservoir leaking several times while sitting in the upright position during refilling of the clean water/solution, so I had to go back over areas to get the dirty water back up off the carpets. I followed the installation when putting together and tightened everything as instructed. When emptying the canister, it also leaked all over my bathroom causing me to have to mop the dirty water off the bathroom floor after carpet cleaning everything. Get ready to do a lot of work to get your carpets cleaned with this model!GSDmom
I love the look and feel of this carpet cleaner! It's slim, sleek and lightweight and the crystal clear tanks are beautiful! I feel like it did a good job of getting the carpets clean, as most carpet cleaners on the market do. It was easy to assemble and the accessories are great. I love that it came with a mechanism to clean out the front where the water and debris gets sucked up, because with our previous machine there was no way to get this clean and it would get pretty nasty and stinky. I also love how the dirty water tank has smooth pieces instead of foam, it's far easier to clean. These both were huge pluses for me. There are a few downsides to this machine, which is why I rated it four stars. The running time of the clean and dirty water tanks don't match up and the dirty water tank is deceptively small (it looks huge!). Both are not deal breakers by any means, but I found it odd that the machine doesn't have a way to signal when the clean water tank is empty, especially since they don't fill at the same rate. When the dirty tank is full, the pitch changes, but there is no way to tell when the clean is empty besides bending over to look. I often found myself thinking I was making progress only to find that I had no idea when the clean tank ran out. The dirty water tank is also a little bit difficult to remove without making a noise that sounds like you're going to crack the plastic. The beater bar also continues to spin when you use the attachments, which is unfortunate. In Bissell's defense, they do mention that you'll need to keep moving the machine while using the attachments so it doesn't ruin the carpet, but it would be far more convenient if it could just stop when the attachment is put on. Overall, I think this is a good machine, even with these quirks. It definitely does the job it sets out to! The suction on this machine will have your carpets fresh, clean, and dry in no time and it can handle the worst messes your pets can dish out. Tip: Always run some clear water through this before storing so it doesn't stink like a rotting carcass the next time you use it. I usually do this by putting a shallow amount of water with a few spoonfuls of bleach in the bathtub and run the machine by suctioning it into the wastewater tank at least twice. Empty, clean, and store. Cons: The dirty water reservoir could be a little bigger and always needs to be emptied before the top reservoir runs out. The yellow cap on the fill tank warped within 4 months of use and is now a struggle to seat properly. I like the cleanability of the removable nozzle, but sometimes it pops off at random. The brush belt broke within 6 months. Wal-Mart doesn't stock replacement belts in my store and I have to order them from the Bissell website.Kerry

This works really well but took a while for me to get used to and figure it out. I have it down for the most part but one of the first times I used it I ended up completely soaking my carpet because I kept my hand on the lever which is what releases the water. Took quite a while to dry but haven’t had an incident since. Cleaned my rugs and had to change the water quite a few times because they were so dirty (but means that my rugs were actually getting cleaned!). It has an attachment to use on seats and couches and stairs but I haven’t figured that out yet but can’t wait to clean my couch once I do!

I purchased this to use in place of the existing vacuum cleaner. This thing has great suction on the carpet and the spinning brush helps lift the soil from the carpet. Its @550 sq ft of carpet and the canister has to be emptied often. Decent hard floor vacuuming, don't use the brush. The attachments and hose is long enough without having to lift the vacuum. Super easy to maneuver and empty. Maintenance has been minimal. No tangled hair.Curtis
