20 Best Steam Cleaner For Dust Mites (Feb 2023 Update)

This product is great. It puts the Shark steam cleaner to shame. Its very powerful and last quite a long time on just a cup of water. It will give you about 15-20 minutes of continuous usage. However, if you press the trigger sporadically, it can last about 30-45 minutes. The steam blast is loud and packs a punch. I use this thing to clean and sanitize everything from my bathroom to the kitchen (always sanitize the nozzle with bleach or alcohol after use to avoid cross contamination). Another great feature is all the attachments it comes with so you can steam clean almost anything. My only issue is the quality of some of the attachment. The small brushes and scrub pads aren't really reusable. After the first usage, they start to fall apart, especially the scrub pads which are excellent for cleaning your tub and tile. You can buy more attachments online, but its kind expensive costing 10 for 5. One reason I switched to steam cleaning was to save money on cleaning solutions, but if I have to constantly buy the attachments, eventually it will work out to cost more than the cleaning solutions. But I recently used the steamer to clean this very disgusting fridge in the apartment Im renting. I bought this tool to clean 1/2 grout tile floor grout. It worked great for the first 10 minutes, and it would great for the process, except it is not designed properly. I has a special small nozzle head, upon which small brush attachments are placed. There are three pieces, brush, nozzle, and nozzle attachment (to hook to hose or hose extension). The nozzle is made of thermoplastic, like the rest of the unit, except the pressure chamber cap, which is brass. The nozzle needed to be made of brass as well. The thermoplastic heats up, and a threaded piece (with o-ring) when at temperature cannot handle GENTLE scrubbing with the brush. (e.g. for the purpose it is made.) The nozzle fitting jumps the threads every time, once it heats up. So the unit is only good to use for about 10 minutes, before the nozzle gets soft from heat, and falls off constantly. If they made the nozzle out of brass, and the end piece (nozzle attach) out of metal, it would work great. But they didn't, so it is pure frustration to CONSTANTLY put the nozzle on again, and again, and again. This gets 1 star. It works great for 10 minutes, then its useless. If used with the larger attachments, it would probably be a great value; but I need it to clean grout. It says it cleans grout, but it really doesn't.MesaGuy

I've only used the MC1275 once to clean shower floor tile grout using the scrub pad attachment. I filled the steam chamber one time with distilled water, and the steam was ready in approximately 5 minutes. It was easy to control, but did a marginal job restoring the whiteness of the grout. The scrub pad itself came loose and separated completely from its plastic base in under 10 minutes. While the steamer worked as advertised, steaming cleaning the grout didn't live up to my expectations, and the scrub pad's durability was a major disappointment. The good – it produced steam reliably; control is easy to maintain. The bad – the scrub pad is virtually useless for scrubbing applications; steam alone will not magically clean discolored tile grout.beforemytime

Steam mops are magical! My cleaning heart is so happy! We moved in three years ago and the floor in our bathroom has always looked like this. I probably scoured 30+ years of grime out of these tiles. So gross! Still not my favorite tile, but I can at least live with it for a little while longer and not get totally disgusted every time I look at it. The Bissell Powerfresh Slim 3-in-1 is my new best friend! Using the handheld pod, red brush, and a bit of elbow grease to scrub both tile and grout it performed really well. The grime was really built up and I had to clean out the bristles often, but I was expecting that for the initial deep clean. I also pretreated the tile flooring with a vinegar solution to loosen the dirt before scrubbing and that worked like a charm. For a big job like this I had to refill the tank several times, but if there was a larger water tank it would have added extra weight and made it difficult to maneuver the pod. Haven't tried the extension arm or the mop head yet, but I think it will be a great way to keep all that grime build up at bay.Anna

Assembly was simple although at first I didn’t realize the screw that holds it together was taped to the handle, and I worried it was lost. Also to those receiving this mop with what looks like a “used” water tank and are returning it because it appears to have been used and then returned: I believe Bissell water tests these machines to check for leaks and to make sure everything works properly before packaging up for the consumer, so you could order ten of these and all ten would appear “used.” If all the other components and packaging appear to have not been opened and used once before, it’s safe to say your product hasn’t been used and then returned. The power cord was neatly folded and the twist tie did not appear to have been undone before and retied, the mop pads were clean and smelled of the manufacturer not like someone’s detergent. The screw came in a sealed plastic bag taped to the handle. Pretty safe to say it hadn’t been used before. The scrub brush is amazing. I use it on the caulking by my baseboards to get up dirt and dust. I will say, the “light” steam setting seems a bit too light. Maybe just for a quick dusting of your floors. The high setting is the way to go if you really want to see some steam and a good amount of wetness left behind on the floor. I had mopped with my traditional mop a week before using the steam mop, and to be honest I wasn’t too surprised that the pad was dirty since I’ve always assumed the mop was leaving dirty water behind. I was excited to buy this to clean/sanitize my floors in the entire house. I have large marble tile (very glossy) in first floor and semi gloss wood floor on the stairs & second floor. I started downstairs first, and worked my way upstairs. I followed the exact directions, and the first floor with marble came out terrible with super large streaks of water. I had it set to high steam, and was using the rough textured pad for the stains. I then began the stairs, and worked my way up to the second floor. Refilled the tank with water, and began the same process on the second floor and came out way better. This doesnt work great with high gloss tile. Wood is better to absorb the moisture it leaves behind. Pros: the cord is very long, and the tablet it comes with in the box left my house smelling really good. I will give it one more shot with the first floor’s marbel tile on low steam setting, and the white pad to see how it goes. If the outcome is the same, I’m going to return it.Chris

One of my favorite things Ive ever bought. Its so easy to use. I absolutely love it. I love that I can use my own cloths on it instead of purchasing the expensive pads. It does come with 3. My only complaints are I wish the hose detached and it would be nice if there was a safety switch so I could lock the trigger so my 2 year old cant mess with it. If I need to take a break I have to shut it off and put it up so he cant get it. Then I have to wait for it to heat back up. Other than that its definitely worth the price.Beth

I've been using this steam cleaner for a while now. I used it to completely clean an apartment that I was moving out of and the landlord was impressed with the cleaning job that we did. The carpet was a little trampled down in the high traffic areas and the stream treatment helped to bring it back to its former fluffy self. The steam the machine produces is very hot and blows a very powerful stream of steam. It doesn't clean, so don't expect this to replace your cleaning regime, but with how hot the steam gets, I'm sure it will sanitize. I love all the attachments it comes with. Perfect for whatever you will use it for. The cord is long enough to work in the space your using it for and it is lightweight. It doesn't need to be filled as often as I thought. I'd still have water left in the kettle after using it all around the bathroom. I use it for when I travel mostly. I clean the bathrooms, kitchens, steam the doorknobs, and anything I'd set my stuff on. It does clean the grime from the hard to reach places like the corner of my shower or the space between the toilet lid and seat. It did a decent job on my glass shower doors, but I still recommend scrubbing them first, then possibly rinsing the soap with the steamer. To sum it up, I like the steamer. This Lil machine is packed with steam power. I’m a stickler for clean grout lines and been on my knees forever getting them clean but this lil powerhouse let’s put the best steam and cleans those lines fast. Makes glass amazing too. I highly recommendGloria

This steamer is comfortable to hold. The .long power cord means you don't have to change the electrical outlet location often. It only holds six (6) ounces of water. That called for several refills. We frequently have six grand children running around are house. They mainly stay in the living room where Nana let's them eat snacks! The carpet had noticably dingy traffic areas, spills, and various snack crumbs smashed into the carpet around the coffee table area. As a former professional carpet cleaner of five + years, I am amazed at how well this smart wash carpet cleaner cleaned our carpet! The living room is approximately 13' x 20' and used 2 gallons of hot water with mixed detergent to clean. The traffic areas and spills took multiple passes as expected. 1 gallon of water without detergent was used to rinse the carpet and extract any remaining detergent from the carpet. Rinsing is an important step because detergent is designed to attract dirt and if not rinsed properly, will attract more dirt to the carpet. I was sceptical at first and thought at best the carpet would look "better". However, the hoover smart wash outperformed my expectations and the carpet actually looks clean! I've owned this machine for little over two years now and overall it's been great but there was one issue I had about six months into owning it with the dry only button and I was frustrated but Hoover was awesome about it and sent me a box and return label so they could see the problem and fix it. Not only did they send me a brand new machine, they also sent me my old one fixed and restored! This machine does an amazing job and it's much lighter to push than the older previous models. It takes a little bit getting used to it at first since it operates differently than older models. Once you get used to it, it's easy. One complaint I have is it's a pain having to remove the small cleaning solution container and setting it aside for rinsing with water only. (Note: be sure to place it upside down or it will leak cleaning solution all over the floor) Not a deal breaker but I hope with future models there can be a switch to use clean water only for rinsing. One thing I will stress that helps is to clean out the machine good after every cleaning! With this model it is easy to remove the brushes and the plastic covering them. This particular model has a "dry only" function which did not work on the first unit ordered. It has a circuit board which is either susceptible to damage or manufacturer defect. After going through the gamut of trial and error with customer service, they sent a replacement free of charge.

Here are a few things I've found over the past year of using the unit maybe 10 or 12 times.

The good first.

I like the dry only feature so that way one can use it as a dry vacuum or go over the freshly cleaned carpet to one's heart's content.

It seems pretty light and maneuverable to me and the three agitator brushes do a pretty good job agitating the carpet pile.

Yep, that's about it.

The not so good.

First and foremost there is no way to rinse the cleaning solution mixture from the carpet leaving it behind to dry and attract and hold on to dirt and grime. I used it on a white shag and the tips of the pile turned brown as it dried so I went through the whole process again only this time adding a clean water rinsing step and used my shop vac to remove the rinse water.

Why would I use the Shop-Vac to remove the water you might ask? Because these units do not have enough suction to do the job.

The cleaning solution container does not seal well when removing it from the unit so it tends to get messy and somewhere along the pathway in the unit seems to leak eventually.

The dry only function seems to be malfunctioning or it could be the leaky cleaning solution.

There are a lot of little nooks and crannies to clean after every use if you want to keep it operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Ultimately, in my humble opinion, they need to scrap this design and go back to the drawing board. If you remove the cleaning solution container it will make a decent but very expensive vacuum.Andrew

This is the best steam mop available in the market. I've had several other brands, but they all break after a year or two. This one has a stainless-steel boiler inside which means it will actually last. Also, no more cleaning the unit from calcium deposits! Time saver!elifolsom

I have many animals and hardwood and tile throughout my home. I have had a Shark and Orek steam mops before and thought they did a decent job. But I am a hardcore Bissell fan when it comes to vacuums because of the massive shedding from the pets not to mention my drooling Mastiffs. I went with this Bissell for the brand and am more than satisfied with my choice. This model, 1940W, does an exceptional job of cleaning both my hardwood and tile floors without streaking or having to go over the saliva enzymes 20x before it lifts. I can really clean my floors easily on the medium setting and did my kitchen, dining room, living room, and hallway which is about 1600sq. feet without having to refill the tank. The scrubbing pad made easy work of getting up any spills or sticky spots, all in one quick motion. This is steamer mop is far better than the other two I had. The cord is plenty long and the scent discs which I didn't think would be a big deal actually are. The whole house smelled wonderful and the scent even wafted upstairs. The large pad surface and swivel head are a huge plus. I highly recommend this product and Bissell in particular.ShoppingSherpa

I bought this when it was deeply discounted to replace my other current options, which were either a bucket/mop with a lil fabuloso or pinesol or getting on my hands and knees with a rag. I already have a Dyson handheld cordless vacuum, so I decided not to get the vacuum steam mop combo version, and just get this lighter steam mop only instead. Just as the Dyson made me not mind vacuuming, I thought that getting the lighter steam mop would do the same for me but for mopping, even though it's corded. I have to say, it does what it says it'll do. It's not as detailed as spending hours in the floor with a hand-rag, or as deep cleaning as soaking the tile floor with a mop-bucket but it's wayyyyy less mess, dries wayyyy faster, it's wayyyy more ergonomic, and more likely that I'll do this more often than the other two methods, which was basically out of desperation once a year. I also really like that the pads are reusable and washable, even if it's kind of a pain to remember to wash them, and don't even mind the cord. It's the perfect length to cover my entire kitchen without unplugging. Glad I held out for this. I'm actually looking forward to having and maintaining somewhat clean floors from now on. #sweepstakesErin

This is my 2nd Bissell steam cleaner, and it leaves the competitors in their steam! I have cleaned my entire house with this, plus two others. I have used it from the floor to the ceiling in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedrooms. I've used it on my furniture, clothes, dog kennel, my car, and even my swimming pool. I have found some drawbacks with this unit as well. Keep in mind I bought it again after my first one went out. So these drawbacks are worth the inconvenience to me. The first one is that when using it off the floor mop stick, to be hands-free you have to set it down and it tips over all the time and there is no strap to sling it over your shoulder or attach it to something to stabilize it preventing it from falling over or falling down if your up on a step stool or ladder. after so many tip-overs and falls it takes a toll on the unit. I believe that this ultimately led to my 2nd issue. The base started to leak and got worse as I used it, and lost the pressure to blow out the steam. 3rd inconvenience is with the steam mop handle. It's weak where it bends and I highly recommend you get some sturdy tape to wrap around the handle to reinforce it. I used Gorilla Tape. Otherwise, it will break off. I caught mine in time with it only cracking at that bend. The last thing is while mopping the floor, the lift-away unit will disengage itself if bumped against something. Not all the time but enough. All in all, again these issues I had experienced with my first one I thought the steam cleaner is worth it. I can't tell you exactly how much cleaning I did with it, but it was a lot over a 5 year stretch.Anita

My unit has worked fantastically for two years and counting. 43psi, 210-degree C steam–it killed a mild bed bug problem and now I use it for cleaning and clothes steaming. Solid construction, fast heat up, powerful steam that blasts through two layers of clothing and upholstery instantly with the trigger.LW

I had been considering buying a steamer for some time. We have slate floors, and a walk in tile shower that I hate using nasty chemicals on. I was excited when I seen Joe had come out with one. It didn't have any reviews when I bought it (or even videos), but I took a leap. Shipping took a long time, but I certainly understand considering the time we live in now with the Covid19 virus. The only problem I have is the day it was delivered, I received an ad from Walmart, for the same unit for thirty dollars less than I paid. So much for getting a special deal on a new product! Yes I could have refused shipment, or returned it. I know it's my fault, and you can be sure I'll be more careful in the future. That said.. This unit is for small jobs as advertised. It is super quick, and easy to use. It heats up incredibly fast. I am very happy with the performance, and will use it often. It is not a bad item. One piece was broken in the box when received but all other parts were intact. It does stem but at times more water than steam come out and that makes it hard but it does get scum build up when you have it on high pressure and get close to the area that has the dirt and scum. It slides it right out so I will say it does the job just wish more steam that waterOdyssey

I have given away all of my cleaning supplies. I only use the steamer now. In fact, just for fun I tried to do my dishes and it worked. My only problem is I need to order new brushes and such. I also have a wish list… a smaller microfiber piece with smaller microfiber pads for sinks, bathtub etc. and/or a larger sponge and a carpet attachment. I purposely let my sinks get extremely dirty to see how long it would take me to clean them. The bathroom sink took 3 minutes and the kitchen took 5. Also, if I need to change attachments in the middle of what I'm doing I use a silicone pot holder.BuddysEars

What a great little machine!!! I steam mopped my kitchen (laminate floor), used one of the small brush attachments to clean my George Foreman grill, the inside of the oven door, and all around the kitchen faucet. Everything came off so effortlessly; I cannot believe I waited this long to buy a steam cleaner. The main reason I pruchased your product was to try steam cleaning one or the cushions on my couch, where we had an unfortunate vomit accident a couple weeks ago. I tried everything else: carpet cleaner, fabreeze, warm water with vinegar, but nothing got rid of the lingering smell. Haven’t owned this long yet but it’s great for my needs. Paid full price, which was more than comparable models, but took a chance since the reviews were good. I have a two bedroom place, so it would be easy to clean everything on about two tanks. I usually just do one room at a time. Works great on floors, walls, and ceilings. (Be careful of outlets, fixtures and fans). The extensions make it easy to reach the 8 foot ceilings in the high part of the half arch entryway. Operation is really easy, cleaning the mop pads is easy, and the website has replacements available if they get worn out over time. All you need is 20 minutes and some distilled water to get started. If it breaks and can’t be repaired within the next 10 years or so I wouldn’t purchase again because I hate wasteful appliances, but otherwise it’s just what I was looking for.Barista dude

I loved all the attachments on this steamer. Once I started steaming, I couldn't stop! I used every attachment for different purposes. The microfiber cloth and rectangular attachment worked great on my wood floors! The small nylon brush and steel brush were awesome for grout lines! I would have given a 5 star review; however, I wasn't impressed with the window tool. We have a glass shower and it took a LONG time to clean…and didn't work well. Traditional glass cleaner was much more effective and a LOT easier. I also wish the unit came with more microfiber cloths.SJO

This cleaner does a very good job of cleaning. It heats up quickly and has very good pressure, which is adjustable. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the locking buttons are hard to press to release attachments. I deep cleaned my entire house with this steam cleaner. It's amazing. It stands by brilliantly without leaking steam while I move things around to clean more. I find that the 700ml lasts a good while before needing to be refilled. The only draw back is that if you must refill you need to let it cool off and depressurize before adding more water. Pros you can use tap water but make sure you maintain per Dupray instructions with vinegar rinse after so many uses. I used every single attachment and I love it but I still need to get the hang of the squeegee. My favorite moment was getting the cracks between my shower surround that I couldn't get with anything else. The pressurized steam blasted out the gunk. It was disturbing and oh so satisfying at the same time. I feel better knowing that I can clean soft surfaces that I can't throw in the laundry, especially for the coming baby. 100% worth the cost, and I'm glad I chose the home over the Neat.Christy R

It's great! It works really well for a variety of things – cleaning floors, counters, sanitizing things. It's not noisy like some steam mops are. The added storage that clicks onto the machine for some of the extra attachments and the docking station that holds everything is a nice added bonus. It's easy to manoeuvre and reach hi and low. My reason for not giving 5 stars is because I feel that at the price point it is in, it should be a cordless machine. The cord it has is long, which is nice, however I was originally looking for a cordless machine. Not sure how the logistic would work on making one, but I can't imagine it would take that much battery power to head up and move the water. Would definitely invest in a cordless if it was on the market. The only other issue I noticed is the mop pads stain really really easy. I only used it once and washed the mop pad right away, hung to dry but it's incredibly stained.Vanessa

I really enjoyed this machine. I had high hopes, and they didn't quite get met with this device, but not disappointed either. The steam could have a little more oomph to it, for the handheld you really have to hold It against the surface of something to get the dirt up. I will say that I do not like that the steam doesn't just start coming out right away. You have to hold the button down for a good 30 seconds, wait for your lights to dim (I assume it is using more power when trying to produce steam) then it comes out. Do not release the button or you will have to start the process over again. For the amount of time it takes to start producing steam, I would expect to get more "steam" time, but again not a commercial use machine. I was able to clean my toilet, sink, and counter on 1 1/2 water refills so not too shabby I would say. The attachment tools are pretty neat as well, able to scrub pretty well with the scrubber brush. They do soften up though when you have continued use which I assume would decrease the usefulness of the brush. I do really enjoy this machine. The cleaning pads are easily removed and installed and just throw them in the wash one done and you have a fresh, good smelling pad for next use!Dannysaywhat

Boy did I do My research on this Baby! As a user/owner I am being honest by saying There are a few issues with this Machine. No issue alone is Problematic, it CLEANS VERY WELL INDEED, however when there are 5 issues at once, it starts to ad up.The Bissell Cleaning Solutions are Exellant but Soo expensive(look for Generics). To clean a 3BD Home with Lounge/Dinning Stair case and Hallways will set you back between $100- 150 on Bissell Cleaning Solutions, I'm not kidding!!The 2 roller Brushes are Very Agressive compared to the suction, they literally rip the Carpet Fibres up in Chunks then block the Machine. The On/Off button is way down the side were you have to feel for it because You are standing to high trying to Juggle the Power cord and God knows what, it should on the top Driving handle. The water/Solution tank is far to small and the Water and Solution level marks are impossible to see. There is allot of Back and forth to the Bathroom tub to keep refilling and adding yet more Expensive Solutions while splashing water about. Don't even try and use it to clean your Matress(big Soggy mess). The cleaning attachments are OK, but it will take hours to clean Your Sofa and will hurt Your wrists (RSI) good job though. It is heavy and Combisome. The 2 roller Brushes don't disengage when you are using utility tools, so the hole Machine is blasting full bore all the time.It was fun at first, however the pipes kink, the Power cord keeps getting stuck under Machine, it keeps getting blockedITS A BIG JUGGLING ACT, and takes allot of Practice. It was an excellent steam cleaner, got really hot, had a larger size water reservoir than other brands and had a nice pocket on the cloth mop pads where you put special scent disks that added a nice light clean scent that regular traditional mopping provides that is missing when using steam cleaners. I think i actually liked this better than the different shark mops I’ve owned. It definitely out lasted my shark pocket mops and I used plain tap water and not distilled as recommended and it never clogged up like other ones have. The only reason I’m no longer using this mop is my old house has janky electric sockets so the plug was getting too hot and was tripping my breakers. But I gave it to my best friend and she said the plug doesn’t even get warm so it was not the mops plug or wiring that was bad it’s my outlets. I bought this when it was deeply discounted to replace my other current options, which were either a bucket/mop with a lil fabuloso or pinesol or getting on my hands and knees with a rag. I already have a Dyson handheld cordless vacuum, so I decided not to get the vacuum steam mop combo version, and just get this lighter steam mop only instead. Just as the Dyson made me not mind vacuuming, I thought that getting the lighter steam mop would do the same for me but for mopping, even though it's corded. I have to say, it does what it says it'll do. It's not as detailed as spending hours in the floor with a hand-rag, or as deep cleaning as soaking the tile floor with a mop-bucket but it's wayyyyy less mess, dries wayyyy faster, it's wayyyy more ergonomic, and more likely that I'll do this more often than the other two methods, which was basically out of desperation once a year. I also really like that the pads are reusable and washable, even if it's kind of a pain to remember to wash them, and don't even mind the cord. It's the perfect length to cover my entire kitchen without unplugging. Glad I held out for this. I'm actually looking forward to having and maintaining somewhat clean floors from now on. #sweepstakesErin

This steamer is amazing! I use it so much that about every 3 years I buy a new one. It’s under $100. I use it on my tile floors, grout, countertops, shower, toilets, sinks, stove, grill, windows! It has so many attachments to help with all of these different functions! It makes a huge difference and is completely safe in killing all germs!!mary.e

It’s great for deep cleaning your floors. I’ve been using it for years. The first one I ruined by not following the directions and using the provided funnel to fill with water. This last one I’ve had for at least 5 years. I do wish it was quicker at steaming the water. It’s not ideal for daily use.ed

Have had for over 2 years and still glad I purchased it. Previously I had one machine that could do floors only and another hand-held one. Neither of them produced as much steam as this one. I really like the versatility of this steamer in that I can to not only the floor but smaller jobs. I would agree with one writer as to the windows and think they called it a “waterfall” but you can work around that by having a rag handy. I love Xmas and painting my windows with snow/frost but typically a royal pain to get off until I got this and it makes it a breeze. I would also agree with one writer in saying that the brush attachments don’t seem to last very long as the bristles tend to somewhat melt. I usually use a just the plain attachment or none at all and a separate brush or rag. As for another one stating that don’t know when it is out of water—steam stops so that is simple. I did not find that I would have to wait till it cools down to refill when it is empty, I just slowly unscrew it releasing any left-over pressure then refill and reheat and I am back to my work Even though not perfect, for me it was the best out there.Fan 4 QVC

I very recently bought this item, I'm about to use it for the first time today. This is more of an informative warning than a review. There is something deceitful and contradicting that I noticed as soon as I looked at the owners manual and I wanted to bring it to the attention of potential buyers. On the box and in the item's description on Harbor Freight's website, it boasts that it holds 41oz of water, so you don't have to refill the water as often, giving you a longer runtime. Now according to the manual, it says you're not supposed to fill the tank with more than 27oz (800ml) of distilled water. And it warns not to overfill. I called their tech support to clarify this today. That guy seemed puzzled by this issue as well. He said to go by the 27oz. I personally think this is pretty deceitful and borderline false advertisement. Hopefully this thing works as good as a lot of the reviews on here claims it does. It's a damn good thing I read the manual first before using it. Because if I didn't, I would have filled the tank with the advertised 41oz of distilled water and possibly broke the thing after the first use. There's quite a big difference between 27oz and 41oz. And on a side note, if you order online, make sure you use the shipment tracker. It took 2 weeks for the item to arrive, it was supposed to be 5-7 days. Somehow they messed up on shipping my order. They're supposed to reimburse me for the $6.99 shipping cost and send me a $15 gift card for the inconvenience. I haven't received it yet though, hopefully they stay true to their word.Sal

Don't believe all the hype about this tool cleaning up grease–it may SOFTEN it, but you will still need to do a large amount of scrubbing with a rag and cleaner to get something clean. And–the instructions say just that, the steamer will LOOSEN grime but you still need to remove it with a flush and rag. It puts out a LOT of steam and gets really hot, so I'm pleased with that. Don't think that you won't get stuff wet, because all that steam instantly turns back into water and doesn't take long for a large amount of water to accumulate. Wish they sold replacement brushes, as these are really consumable items, but other manufacturers brushes will work if you can find the right size. Apparently putting in the "correct" amount of water is really important because they included a special measuring cup. It would be nice if they had a visible gauge, because you never know how much water is left. I was going to make a dipstick because I use distilled water and hate to pack the tool off for a project when it's almost empty. Overall it's ok though.Smoky

Lots of attachments, including one mysterious small elastic-ringed cover for something not found in the kit (fits nothing properly), and not even shown in the detailed list/shots of all the parts…go figure…maybe for the scrubby attachment? Anyway, kit easy enough to use but should have come with TWO of the floor cleaning covers so they can be exchanged to soak/clean while still working on a floor as they do get filthy quickly. The mop covers available locally can work but don't fit well. One problem – no way to tell besides guessing how much water is left in the tank…then you run out and have to wait 20 minutes according to instructions for cooling to open the tank safely and refill to continue working! Actually, this can be done in 5 or so by releasing pressure after some cooling and CAREFULLY releasing pressure at the nozzle while opening but you'd better be a good mechanic used to dealing with car radiator pressure but NOT recommended for the average user, who can then get scalded by trying to pour water in before the tank cools a bit (if that's you, don't do it!). That will get spat out as scalding water if you put more than a tiny bit in to pre-cool the tank before the real fill, and this will still kill almost 10 minutes of lost time in a bigger usage – will only run for about a half hour tops in continuous use. Very good value for just $99 – I was given a $100 estimate to steam clean just one car seat! Of course, just steaming fabric only makes it wet until you vacuum that out with the dirt. So you also need a water-capable shop style vac to do this. I do and have many other uses for this so having this left after I clean that seat is almost like a freebie. Already got my value out of it just steam cleaning/sanitizing my floors with it.IgAK
