Reviews:
I'm in love❤ with this carpet cleaner. No wrestling with a heavy bulky rental cleaner. Easy to fill and dump dirty water, it disperses the cleaner automatically to perfection. It cleaned better than store rental. Extremely easy to use and the brushes on bottom help clean rugs or carpet. I had some very tough stains and it did superb..just a little pretreat. I never thought it would perform ad great as it did. Seen some bad reviews and wondered if they correctly used it? Can't imagine it doing a bad job. Just remember to vacumn prior to using the carpet cleaner as it says. Thank Hoover for saving the back if a sixty year old with this easy to use and to put together carpet cleaner. Going to clean car seats next with the accessories.Iseaulater
I clean houses for a living. Residential, rentals, Airbnb's move-outs/move-ins, I've had this carpet shampooer for maybe a year and a half, used it a handful of times not as much as I would have liked to or needed to. I ended up getting a little hand held spot cleaner that I use but it doesn't even cover the ground I needed the normal size shampooer for. In the despencer where you are supposed to put the cleaner in, it has gotten clogged and no cleaner will come out of it at all anymore and when I do use it just water comes out? But it smells so much like mold and mildew, I don't understand why it would smell so bad especially when I clean it thouroughly after every use. On top of that when I bought it brand new in the box that had never been opened, I didn't get all the attachment pieces or the filters or a lot of the parts that are supposed to come wirh it, it was just the hose one basic attachment piece for that hose and a couple other parts but it was missing most the accessories it was supposed to come with. It worked good the first two times I used it maybe but after that it was garbage. I'm very disappointed with this product, it was a waste of money 100%.Jill
I had to send it in for repair after having it for 14 months because it stopped suctioning. Assurion sent me a gift card via mail. It's been well over 7-10 business days, so I made contact again. They're resending me a gift card, and I should receive it in 1-2 business days. Hopefully, I get that card soon because I need to clean my carpets, I run a dog rescue and get a lot of accidents. Now I have to research for another one. I could rebuy this one, but honestly, after using it for a few months, it really didn't clean well. It reminded me of a cheaper carpet cleaner, and I was not satisfied with the results. Also, keep your box if you get a warranty with your carpet cleaner. In order to use my warrant, I had to send in my carpet cleaner to "get fixed". I was fortunate enough to have found my box buried deep in a closet! Otherwise, it can be difficult to find a box big enough to send the product in. According to All-State/Asurion, my carpet cleaner was "not able to be repaired" so they sent a gift card that doesn't even have a sufficient amount of funds to repurchase a new one. Warranties are great at times, but can really be a hindrance when trying to settle your clam(s).Shanell

I just tried if after waking up to a present from my cat. it was reddish food on beige carpeting. it got it right up with no issues. then tried a few more older spots and it even helped with them. it looks like you better not wrap the hose back up on the machine to try to prevent it from kinking. ez to empty. it appears a lot of water doesnt come back into the tank but i found it didnt take long to dry. i dont like how the spray of the cleaning fluid comes from the rear underneath but you get used to it.todd
I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos prior to purchasing this. So disappointed. Pros: Looks cute. It did remove a chocolate stain from my upholstered chair. Cons: It left an ugly water ring, so now it looks like I spilled something on the chair. I tried to clean it again the next day, and cleaned the whole seat of the chair instead of just the spot in hopes it would even out the color. Nope. Still there. The unit also leaked water as I carried it and where it sat on the floor. Also, the dirty bucket container never filled. I really hope I can get a refund. I've already lost a chair.BBB Customer
I know this is meant to be a pet stain remover, but I primarily bought it to be used to clean my car. I like it a lot. It seems powerful, holds quite a lot of solution, and has a pretty big dirty water tank. Something I noticed related to detailing is the default brush is very restrictive for getting smaller areas, especially in tight corners. I plan to get the crevice style tool to see if that helps any. The point I docked though is related to the efficacy of the float-suction-stop. I had a case where when cleaning the Cleaner after I was finished using it by sucking clean water up, the float must have an imperfect seal because it let way too much water in to the point of almost flowing into the motor suction of the dirty water tank. I caught it because I was watching it. I don't see this as a real issue mainly because in normal use it's not filling that quickly. Apart from that I like this machine quite a bit. I would imagine it would work really well for pet stains. It would be cool if there was a way to make a powered attachment (with an electric motor, not suction turbine) to scrub like their Pro 2x carpet cleaner brushes. It would make working on detailing a bit easier. Again, I realize it's not the intended purpose of the machine.

Reviews:
Bought this on Saturday as I have a new dog that has had a few accidents in the house, on the carpet of course! I was shocked at how quiet this machine is, no need for ear protection to use this. Has great suction power and leaves very little moisture behind, carpet dried completely in about 2 hours. Easy to clean when finished. Love the hose cleaning attachment. I added white vinegar to the final rinse when cleaning out the machine. Machine keeps the solution warm while working. Easy to set up, easy to use, and easy to clean and put away. The engineers did a great job designing this machine. Can't go wrong with a Bissell!
Works pretty decent but the heating element seems a little weak, needs an option to just heat w/o running the vacuum so you're not stuck listening to it while it warms. Would have been nice if it came w/a small separate brush for tight spaces. Suction could be a little better but overall not bad. The hose needs to be an inch longer, it's a stretch to get the head to wrap around and mount in it's holder. Did a pretty good job, although required a bunch of passes, cleaning old dirty seats in an old project car. I legit thought they were gray for the last 2.5 yrs I've owned it…
I have used this to clean wine stains and dog potty accidents. This is excellent at cleaning wine stains but I did not feel like it really penetrated down to the urine stain left by my dog. I even used the PET PRO OXY Spot & Stain Formula for Portable Carpet Cleaners and still noticed a faint urine stain afterward. I had to use a different product altogether to clean this. I am disappointed as the dog messes are the primary reason I purchased this product. Otherwise, this is easy to use and easy to clean.

Reviews:
We are an older, retired couple who absolutely LOVE our Bissell Spot Clean carpet and upholstery scrubber. For us it's a life saver in the figurative sense. It was well worth every penny we paid for it and it paid for itself the 2nd time we used it. When we bought our home going on Nov. 29, 2011 there was a huge black stain about the circumference of a scrub pail in our master bedroom carpeting that looked like oil. We have no idea how long the stain had been in the carpeting or exactly what the stain was from. We tried a spray on carpet cleaner that allegedly removes stains to no avail. It didn't phase the stain, it didn't even lighten the stain. My husband used our new Bissell Spot Clean scrubber on the stain on Sept. 17, 2013. He didn't use any elbow grease and he only spent about 1 minute scrubbing the stain. Oh my gosh, a miracle has occurred, THE STAIN IS COMPLETELY GONE and our carpet looks like new, literally. We're both completely astounded because we thought we'd have to replace our bedroom carpeting to get rid of the stain. There were several other set-in stains in the carpet: red juice and coffee. The Spot Clean scrubber took those set-in stains completely OUT of the carpet as well. We clean both of our living room sofas and the loveseat once a week with the Bissell Spot Clean scrubber. It got rid of set-in stains from them as well as easily as if they just happened. Prior to buying our Bissell Spot Clean portable scrubber, we priced the cost to RENT a carpet / upholstery scrubber in our local stores because our sofas had a horrible odor. The cost of renting a scrubber for 36 hours was $40, then with the cost of buying the necessary detergent and a bottle of the deodorizer, we would have spent about $80 total not including sales tax. We figured we would be financially better off to BUY a portable scrubber for a little more than the cost of renting. When we read the reviews on many brands of portable upholstery scrubbers, we chose the Bissell Spot Clean which was one of the smartest decisions that we ever made. We own a 3 year old Morkie and a 2 year old Yorkie who are sometimes covered with dirt, mud and dust, who lay on the back of the sofas & loveseat so they can look out our living room windows. We also have Seventeen children who are now grown and Nineteen grandchildren who make messes whenever they come to visit. Our Bissell Spot Clean easily cleans up those messes without any effort on our part. We now scrub our sofas once a week because our Bissell Spot Clean scrubber make them look like new and SMELL like new. If you're considering buying a portable carpet and upholstery scrubber, look no further than the Bissell Spot Clean. You'll be amazed by the results!
Got this cleaner on Black Friday at Target for approx. half price – thought I was getting a great buy! However, I've been quite disappointed in this unit's performance. Our household has a cat that poops on the rug every day, which means I clean up whatever spot the cat picks on a daily basis. We've gone thru 5 or 6 Bissell cleaners over the years, and it it rare that any of them have remained fully functional after 12 months of daily use. However, we have had this one only 2 weeks, and it's already broke! My observations: * Hose cracked and spraying waste fluids when machine is on. * Soap and waste water tanks smaller than on previous generation "Green Machines" we have owned. /used * Title is misleading: "ProHeat" simply means you can use warm water to fill the soap tank. The machine does NOT heat the soap solution. * Sprayer on applicator nozzle only dribbles soap solution, rather than evenly spaying the soap solution over the dirty area. Overall evaluation: POOR. I'm not at all happy with this purchase. This one is going back to Bissell, and I hope I get a Simple Green back in return – at least those seem to last a few months before the pumps break.
Originally I did think this would be a great product. Although the Bissell vacuum I purchased was also weak. This Bissell pet portable pro heat cleaner was purchased to clean a small carpet and couch. It did a fair job on the carpet at first. The second time I used it there was water leaking and the sprayer started to drip not spray. I was careful when cleaning it, each time it was emptied. As others have said it doesn't actually heat the water, you just add hot water to the tank. The sample bottles of Bissell cleaner and oxy boost were nice to try, the regular size were priced high I thought. I wouldn't recommend this product. Disappointed that this was a waste of money. Disappointed of time it took to re-clean the area where dirty water leaked out. I looked up how to fix it but it needs to go to a Bissell repair store, not convenient. Please save your money,Sunshine

Reviews:
I bought my Dupray Neat Steamer 2 years ago. It’s become one of my favorite cleaning tools for tackling the tough and weird to clean things like the couch and our big area rug. Since my last cleaning, I had an issue with the cap getting stuck despite proper cleaning and air drying after my last use. I was very happy to work with Nilan in customer service who helped me with my warranty and shipping. The experience was great and I recommend this product to everyone who appreciates a good cleaning.Crystal Sommer
One of my favorite things Ive ever bought. Its so easy to use. I absolutely love it. I love that I can use my own cloths on it instead of purchasing the expensive pads. It does come with 3. My only complaints are I wish the hose detached and it would be nice if there was a safety switch so I could lock the trigger so my 2 year old cant mess with it. If I need to take a break I have to shut it off and put it up so he cant get it. Then I have to wait for it to heat back up. Other than that its definitely worth the price.Beth
I've been using this steam cleaner for a while now. I used it to completely clean an apartment that I was moving out of and the landlord was impressed with the cleaning job that we did. The carpet was a little trampled down in the high traffic areas and the stream treatment helped to bring it back to its former fluffy self. I use it almost every weekend to clean my bathrooms and hard floors as well. I never have issues with steam productions and it has held up so far.Tyler

Reviews:
This is my 2nd Bissell steam cleaner, and it leaves the competitors in their steam! I have cleaned my entire house with this, plus two others. I have used it from the floor to the ceiling in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedrooms. I've used it on my furniture, clothes, dog kennel, my car, and even my swimming pool. I have found some drawbacks with this unit as well. Keep in mind I bought it again after my first one went out. So these drawbacks are worth the inconvenience to me. The first one is that when using it off the floor mop stick, to be hands-free you have to set it down and it tips over all the time and there is no strap to sling it over your shoulder or attach it to something to stabilize it preventing it from falling over or falling down if your up on a step stool or ladder. after so many tip-overs and falls it takes a toll on the unit. I believe that this ultimately led to my 2nd issue. The base started to leak and got worse as I used it, and lost the pressure to blow out the steam. 3rd inconvenience is with the steam mop handle. It's weak where it bends and I highly recommend you get some sturdy tape to wrap around the handle to reinforce it. I used Gorilla Tape. Otherwise, it will break off. I caught mine in time with it only cracking at that bend. The last thing is while mopping the floor, the lift-away unit will disengage itself if bumped against something. Not all the time but enough. All in all, again these issues I had experienced with my first one I thought the steam cleaner is worth it. I can't tell you exactly how much cleaning I did with it, but it was a lot over a 5 year stretch.Anita
I LOVE THIS STEAMER!!! It's absolutely phenomenal at steam mopping floors! The steam is directly at the floor, you don't see the steam coming out the edges of the mop head with is fantastic (in my opinion). The handheld steam pod is powerful, but is finicky because if the pod is not upright and level with a flat surface the steam will stop and have trouble producing a continuous stream. It works great though if you use the hose and keep it seated on a flat surface like a counter top, or the floor. The steam could be more powerful in the handheld mode depending on the attachment (like when using the angle concentrator). It's good for getting around the toilet seat and into the screws. The scrubbing brushes are amazing! The brushes combined with the steam make it a powerful cleaner without using chemical sprays. It also works well to leave mirrors and windows squeaky clean. Just make sure you steam the surface before using the squeegee because some stuck on stuff takes more steam to release with the squeegee. The fabric steamer is excellent, it gets up close to the fabric and directs the steam right into the upholstery. Overall this is a great, handy 2-in-1 steam mop for everyday household use. It you are looking for something to get the most stuck on messes without the hassel of the finicky steam pod it may not be the one for you. But considering how excellent of a steam mop it is, the handheld mode is a nice bonus for fun above the floor cleaning.
Purchased this because of its versatility and options for cleaning different types of surfaces. I do my fair share of research prior to making purchases and despite reading a few reviews AND seeing this product make it on several "Best Steam Mop Products to Buy" lists, I decided to make the purchase. Not only that but I didn't want to buy a separate product to clean counters, mirrors, etc. Unfortunately, the device stopped working after a year and under 10 uses. I have only used the demineralized water products for Bissell and have never dropped the device and have taken great care of the device; which is why I was shocked to see that the products all of a sudden lost capability to produce steam and just leaked water from the bottom, the bottom of the lift-off detachment and from the top when using attachments. At first I chalked it up to likely particles blocking the hosel and followed the instructions posted on Bissell's website to clear it, but to no avail. So I continued through all of the troubleshooting instructions listed and realized that after completing them all, several times might I add, that the product is just dead. Bissell missed the mark with this product unfortunately. I was very surprised that the device died after a short period of time/use. Like other reviews have stated the device can be a little tough to move initially but once a good amount of steam is flowing it's not that bad. Cleans well and the scented demineralized water adds a fresh smell to any room. I thought about buying a replacement only because I spent money buying more accessories and attachments for it but I feel like I'd just be disappointed again and still not get more than 10 uses combined between the 2. Bottom line, DO NOT PURCHASE!

The LittleGreen ProHeat deep cleaner was recommended to me by my mom for getting those little messes out of carpets and rugs. I got mine in March of this year and it was doing its job, other than a brush popping off the end of one of the hose attachments (an easy enough fix with some glue). I was happily using the machine about once a week just to touch up around the house, with the occasional bigger spot that needed a couple of tries to come all the way clean. Then, about three weeks ago, I was a little confused about why the dirty water tank didn't seem to be getting fuller. On closer inspection, I found that the hose had developed a sizable hole in one of the creases. The machine is outside of Target's return period and Bissell customer service has been completely unresponsive. For an item I got just a few months ago that is being used regularly, but not heavily, this is an unfortunate turn from being a product I liked to one that I simply cannot recommend.Lane
I purchased online & hoped to do curbside pickup. My local store didn’t have it on hand but shipping looked like it would only take a day or two so I opted to have it shipped. We’ll about 4 hours later (maybe less) it was delivered to my front door. I absolutely couldn’t believe it. What amazing service. My first trial run of the unit was on a bench. I very briefly pre-treated the surface. Then I followed the instructions to spray while scrubbing. I didn’t put a lot of time or huge effort into it. The results are really great and I’m sure they would be even better if I let the pre-treatment soak for longer than 2 minutes. After I cleaned my bench, I could not believe how filthy the water that I suctioned from the bench was. I will be using and loving this little machine a lot!!! It was really easy to assemble and get started. I think I’ll get better at judging how to pre-treat stains and how to scrub. But for a first try using it & doing with almost no effort. I’m ashamed at how filthy my bench was and glad I have something like this on hand to clean with.kcgCLT
I Would Return This If I Could. I Started Out Good, Cleaning My Car Seat, A Spill On My Couch Etc. It Works Ok, But What I Did Not Expect Was That I Needed To Push A Lot Harder Than Expected. This Is Not A Machine That Does The Work For You. You Do All The Work, And The Handles Feel Really Flimsy. The Hose Is Also Made Of Hard Plastic. There Is No Wiggle To It. The Hose Is Also Incredibly Short, Which I Had Read But Wanted To See If It Was A Big Deal. It Is. It Also Leaks From The Bottom, So If One Is To Use This In The Car, You Either Put It In The Car, With Something Underneath, Or You Put It On A Stool Or Something Near You. Because The Hose Is Short, Both Of These Are Risky, Meaning The Bissell Could Fall Over, Get Knocked Off Etc. Not Fun When You're Trying To Clean Something And it's Already Taking Alot Of Work. So Many Negatives, I Would Not Purchase Again. The Hard Plastic Hose Tore, And I Have Only Used This Bissell A Handful Of Times. Maybe 5, And For Mostly Small Things. Not Fun. I Believe I Purchased In June Of 2021. It Is Barely April 2022. Yikes.TargetShopperToday

Reviews:
Very disappointed with this item. It does clean cat messes but not dirt from carpet. Also, what is in the box is not what is pictured on the front of the box. The brush attachment shown is black with a clear front adn 3 rows of red bristles, actual attachment is all clear and has only ONE row of bristles. The attachment is also supposd to have a button to release if from the hose. There is NO button! You cannot remove it unless you pry it off with a screwdriver! The box shows a button and the instructions also show a button. You are supoosed to remove the attachment & hook the hose to the machine to run water through but you can't take the attachment off so you can't clean it. Using a screwdriver to pry it is going the break the cheap plastic attachment. I did try to contact Hoover but the bot said it was too busy and booted me off. When purchasing anything I expect to receive what is pictured on the box not some other cheap junk. Disappointed!!DawnyLouWho
Love this wet vac! We just got a new puppy and the only handheld wet vacs like the discontinued Bissell we had in the past are impossible toclean. They don’t come apart like they need to. This Hoover is bigger, but just as portable and does a MUCH better job than the handhelds. It was super easy to set up, and I can’t believe how easy it is to clean after use. The hose cleaning feature is phenomenal and is one of the main reasons I got this over the Bissell Little Green Machine. Well worth the investment to keep my carpets clean while puppy learns how to comply with socially acceptable bathroom norms. Walmart delivered promptly and had this in stock which wasn’t the case with a couple of other vendors.Jackie
I have owned this unit for 5 years after previously owning a Bissel Little Green Machine (the Bissel nosel stopped spraying after a couple years, and unit would constantly leak). About a year ago I noticed it was getting more difficult to place the handle back in the holder (the hose did not stretch as far as it used to). I didn't think much of it, but then. Few months ago I noticed that the hose tore near the sprayer. I loved using this machine, therefore I wanted to try fixing it without having to buy another one. I used hockey tape and that seemed to do the trick. Then about a month ago, I noticed that the hose has also torn right at the base (I am unable to fix this with tape unfortunately). I wrote Hoover about this, however, I am far out of warranty, so there isn't really much they can do. Now I'm trying to decide if I should buy another one or try something new. I noticed another customer also had the same problem with the hose tearing, so obviously my issue is not isolated.Kryss

I love this steam cleaner it makes cleaning so much easier and knowing I'm not using harsh chemicals makes me even happier. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I wish the steam would last longer before having to refill. Otherwise it's a great cleaner. Every home needs onerobin.s

Reviews:
It is very ease to use. Set up was simple. The amount of steam was easy to control. It has definitely met all of my expectations with flying colors. I also like the fact that it is an American made product. The warranty is also a great selling feature. Highly recommend. Update: We have had an incredible amount of rain and our "dog" room was a muddy mess. We have tile and it was covered with dried red clay mud. I sprayed with a bleach cleaner and mopped with the steamer. It was absolutely amazing. It cleaned the entire floor quickly. I recommend ordering extra pads. I got mine at Opentip.mykidsmom1963
I purchased this steamer to use in cleaning our church. We have numerous children here on a weekly basis and are starting a preschool 4 days a week. With that many children, I was concerned about chemicals. So far the steamer has worked well.Pros:Very versatile – can be used to clean many, many surfacesHandle extenders make it possible to reach and clean the ceilingAttachments are easy to use and change on the fly, no extended set up times to change from one surface to the other.ConsHeating time, without a doubt is the biggest con I've found so far. It takes a long time to heat to temp which is not a problem when first starting up, just make sure you plug it in well in advance, but if you run out of water midway through your cleaning, it takes a long time to cool down so that it's safe to add more water, and then it has to heat up all over again. So far, I've been very pleased with the purchase. I can clean the whole church in about 4-5 hours and only have to use chemicals in the toilets. It does take longer to clean the building the chemical free way, but I feel it's worth it.
Had a pest problem. Vapamore cleaned any remaining boric acid I had in carpet. Never again will I use boric acid. It is difficult to remove and can poison you after you think you have vacuumed it up but not all comes up even after several vacuums. Vapamore also disinfected mattress, couch, loveseat, chairs, kitchen floor, pillows, drapes, etc. Easy to maneuver the unit due to its compact size and wheels. The main arm has two easily detachable sections which elongate or shorten the sprayer to varied lengths for ease of use. The back of the unit has storage for the smaller attachments. Be careful this storage space doesn't open up while you are emptying remaining water from the unit as you could lose a few small parts down the drain. Important to read all the safety info prior to first use so you don't make a bad mistake which invalidates the warranty. Limited lifetime warranty looks pretty good. I can see myself purchasing an additional floor mop cloth at some point in the future. This cloth is easy to remove and toss in the laundry. It can get dirty quickly if you do not do your standard vacuuming of carpet prior to steam disinfection. The hot steam dried quickly from upholstery. Nothing was left sopping wet. This is important in order to avoid mold. Can not stress this enough.Candice

I got this machine to clean up area rugs, especially because of the dog, there is more dirt ending on the carpet in the family room, regardless of top how well we clean his paws. I used the machine today for the first time and used it with the Bissell's detergent I had sitting around for years (from the previous machine I owed years ago). Since the carpet hasn't been cleaned for a while, I used deep clean setting. It refreshed the carpet all right, especially considering that some dirt has been there for a longer time and may be more stubborn (see pic for the dirt in the dirty water tank) . This being an area rug, I had an issue with tassels, as in spite of me being careful, they got sucked up by the brush. It would be convenient if the power button was closer to the handle as it would help with quicker shutting off and therefore prevent possible damage to the machine. It would be even better if it had an option for cleaning up fringes of the area rugs (I understand that this machine is designed with carpets and not necessarily with rugs in mind). When I finished cleaning and turned the machine off, it spit out a lot of fiber pulled from the rug. To me, that means that it is damaging to the rug, as it is effectively thinning it. Still, even that's ok cause the rug will likely last longer than me. My biggest complaint on this machine though is complexity on cleaning it and difficulty to clean the nozzle in particular (from the piled fiber remaining in it – see pic). I ended up using a zip tie to pull the dirt out. The brush is also not all that easy to clean and I ended up just wiping it the best I can. If I haven't run into difficulties described above (especially with cleaning the nozzle), I would give it 5 stars. I am glad I have gotten this machine as it did what I expected it to do.
After having rented and used Bissell's commercial Big Green Machine I decided to buy this unit for my own home use… mainly on the basis of cost levels. The rental unit cost me about $98 for a two-day rental (including a $30 deposit) so.a three-times-year rental worked out to about the same as buying this unit (including solution costs). I've used the unit once today for a total of about 3 hours and found that, unless you rush your use of the unit and treat it like a common vacuum cleaner, it works well enough… but there are a couple of qualifications. First, in filling the clean-water tank the markings on the outside of the tank are in WHITE in which can make it rather tough to read the volume levels in the tank. Switching to a black ink for the printing on the tank would alleviate this problem. Second, the unit is rather LOUD… especially in the upper sound register. While the unit overall is loud (as is to be expected) the suction motor emits sound in the high frequency range (1000-2000hz) that makes it suspect for long period use without adequate hearing protection… something that isn't mentioned anywhere in the printed material supplied with the unit. A pair of standard hearing protectors or at least a set of foam ear plugs will go a long way towards reducing this. Third, after rather prolonged use – a total of 3 hours the first day, I noticed that the motor/pump housing (near the on/off switch) was quite warm to the touch… well above human body temperature… around 140˚F as measured with an infrared thermometer. Not having any other unit(s) to test, I don't know whether or not this is the normal operating temperature for this model. Lastly, for those who claim that this model leaves the carpet extremely wet, I can only offer that this isn't a standard vacuum cleaner… the user needs to go much, much slower on both the push and pull strokes in order to get sufficient suction to remove as much moisture as possible.
Boy did I do My research on this Baby! As a user/owner I am being honest by saying There are a few issues with this Machine. No issue alone is Problematic, it CLEANS VERY WELL INDEED, however when there are 5 issues at once, it starts to ad up.The Bissell Cleaning Solutions are Exellant but Soo expensive(look for Generics). To clean a 3BD Home with Lounge/Dinning Stair case and Hallways will set you back between $100- 150 on Bissell Cleaning Solutions, I'm not kidding!!The 2 roller Brushes are Very Agressive compared to the suction, they literally rip the Carpet Fibres up in Chunks then block the Machine. The On/Off button is way down the side were you have to feel for it because You are standing to high trying to Juggle the Power cord and God knows what, it should on the top Driving handle. The water/Solution tank is far to small and the Water and Solution level marks are impossible to see. There is allot of Back and forth to the Bathroom tub to keep refilling and adding yet more Expensive Solutions while splashing water about. Don't even try and use it to clean your Matress(big Soggy mess). The cleaning attachments are OK, but it will take hours to clean Your Sofa and will hurt Your wrists (RSI) good job though. It is heavy and Combisome. The 2 roller Brushes don't disengage when you are using utility tools, so the hole Machine is blasting full bore all the time.It was fun at first, however the pipes kink, the Power cord keeps getting stuck under Machine, it keeps getting blockedITS A BIG JUGGLING ACT, and takes allot of Practice. Reviews:
Ok, so I see the reviews and I can say I personally have owned 1 of the Bissell Revolutions 2x whatever cleaning power and I was satisfied (extremely satisfied as it still runs). I have a black lab and a long haired cat and I live in the country. We have absolutely no concrete or asphalt surrounding our house, and live by the coast so our dirt is probably about 30-40% sand, so tracking mud and sand is frequent in our home. I still have the Bissell (no complaints there), however I clean mine everytime after I use it and vacuume very very thoroughly before I shampoo with my shark navigator (that I am also very very happy with). The thing with all carpet cleaners is the way you treat them. You can't just vacuume once briefly then expect the shampooer to not pick up hair clumps. Do this: vacuume the area until you think u did good, then empty the vacuume and do it again. If you pick up no hair, use the shampooer. If you keep vacuuming up hair, then keep vacuuming until you basically aren't picking up hair, then you will not have issues with your shampooer. I just got the Hoover Powerdash (I got a super good deal for $20 from a garage sale brand new in box never used so I figured why not, my Bissell isn't a pet model so this will be good to try) and am writng this review in response to all the negative recent reviewers I see just because they are having so many of the same issues with clumped hair and leaks.. First off, don't leave your shampooer with dirty water, and it won't leak. Also, don't leave solution in it or simply store the resiviour separately so you won't have leaks either. These machines mainly use gravity to apply solution, possibly with the assist of a small pump like device that might be powered by the belt rotation to feed water (which is great, never have to replace an actual pump) so if you leave solution or dirty water stored in the resiviors, your bound for issues. One lady stated she's owned 12 of the exact 1 that I own (which is I'm assuming for a business or a friggin mansion) so not sure what she's doing wrong but I guarantee the problem is operator error. Especially if she's having the same issues with the same shampooer that I have never seen, unless of course she's overusing them when she shoulda got a commercial cleaner for whatever she needs 12 of these things. I use mine about 15-20 times per year for the past 2 or 3 years and don't have issues. This is for residential use, if taken care of they will last. One last thing, clean your shampooer directly after use, I take mine out front and rinse it on our gravel driveway, being careful to only lightly spray the nozzle and brush assembly, keeping water away from the motor. This will ensure a clean start next session, and is a hell of a lot easier than cleaning clumped up dirt and hair that's caked up and dried solid before u even get to shampooing and even better for the machine instead of just flat out not cleaning at all and burning out the motor due to naglagence and poor maintenance. Use your head people, these are designed to clean what dry vacumes can't, not vacume up hair and remove grime at once. You need to remove a majority of the hair and then these come in and remove everything else just fine. Plain and simple.

this cleans pretty well. Much better than my big Spin Scrub Hoover. This tiny little thing has the right kind of brushroll to pick up the carpet fibers and sweep off the dirt. It has good suction. Traffic areas get matted or compressed so they need the brushroll. What makes it a problem, is that the dirty water reservoir has very limited capacity so it only cleans about a 3×3 foot area before it is too full. That is, in a high traffic area. It might clean a slightly larger area if you are only lightly cleaning invisible dirt. I think the mechanism senses SUDS and freaks out and quits suctioning, and it also let a large amount of sudsy water leak out on my hardwood floor next to my carpet, without warning. If it's not very sudsy, it won't leak so bad, just a little, when full. so i had to empty this dirty water tank 3x on a 2.5x 8 foot hall carpet with low pile. . Not cool. Definitely ONLY for small areas as i said above. I was attracted to the bigger more expensive ones of this style that have 2 brush rolls and much larger capacity, and wider cleaning path. I will probably have to get one of those, as this one won't work well for a regular sized room, even just the traffic areas.lexy
Initially bought to clean carpet from when my pup was sick and tried to hide downstairs in the only part with carpet when she wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, that liquid sat into the carpet without knowing for a while. This carpet cleaner took care of that and then some ! I LOVE the feature that it has heat to help dry the carpet so you can basically walk onto it right after. I’ve had my basement get water in it after a storm and I was able to also use this to suck up all the water out of the carpet. It saved us from having to replace the baseboards/carpet. I understand it is compact so it’s not really meant to clean your entire house of carpet. The bin gets full quickly with the dirty fluids. The unit isn’t heavy like a commercial use which could be an issue if you have thick/deep carpet. It’s easily disassembled for cleaning of hair in the brush. I did notice when sucking up water from the thick carpets constantly to save us from flooding it was almost as if I could start to smell the belt running hot. In that case I tried my best to wait longer between vacuuming. I’d recommend this to anyone. 4.5 stars only for unit capacity is slightly not enough for my liking.kelsey.k

Bought this product to help with pet messes and spills. Machine worked great at first when I purchased it then after a while it lost suction. I returned it three times while under warranty. It would work for a while then lose suction again. I asked for a refund and they refused since my 90 days was over. I wanted to get it serviced and they would never give me the address for repair they kept saying find a local repair shop. The closest one is over 50 miles away from my house. I will not buy another rug dr product I will get a bissel animal pet cleaner.Cathy Malone
The fact that this rug cleaner picks up pet hair is fabulous since most rug shampooers get caught on a lot of hair which interferes with how well they clean. When the rug gets spotted by my pet, after I clean it the odor remains noticeable to my pet. This has caused my pet to use the same area again and again. Therefore, it is necessary to totally remove any smell this pet can locate in the future. The Stain and Odor Cleaner and 2X suction of the Rug Doctor successfully eradicated all the odor so my pet’s strong sense of smell could not detect anything anymore. First, I worked on eradicating the stain that has been long-lasting. It consists of a dull, tan or light brownish area like a path from dirty shoes. I have scrubbed it with brushes and baking soda, used a dry carpet cleaner, and shampooed it with a carpet shampoo machine. Yet, the stain stayed permanently embedded in the carpet. I am always uneasy using carpet shampooers because I do not want my floor to break down and need to be replaced. My subflooring is particle board which cannot tolerate water. With the Rug Doctor Dual Action Pet Tool, I found I was easily able to control how much wetness came out of the Rug Doctor tool. By lightly pressing the soap trigger and releasing it as soon as the rug was wettened, there was not a large amount of water to soak below the carpet. The carpet did get fairly wet though from the soap and water solution. The backing on the carper is rubberized, so hopefully this kept the particle board from becoming overly dampened. This is my main concern when cleaning my carpet. I thought suds would come out the soap nozzle when I pressed the soap trigger. That was not the case. The watery soap solution came out so I had to trust it would not quickly soak below the carpet when I had to leave it on for five minutes as the directions said. I cut the five minutes down to three and was prepared to repeat the cleaning later if it still was necessary. Then, I used the Pet Tool to pull the dampness out of the rug and the 2X suction worked superbly well. In fact, the wetness in my carpet was removed so much, the carpet felt nearly dry to the touch after going over the whole area several times where I had sprayed. I got paper towels to blot it to remove any remaining wetness. To my great surprise, the paper towels hardly got wet at all. There were slight damp areas on the paper towels and a lot of the paper was practically dry. I never have had paper towels stay so dry when patting down the carpet after I had washed it with a sponge or shampoo cleaned it. So, my impression of the Rug Doctor Pet Portable Spot Cleaner is, I believe it is excellent. They took into consideration how much it might need to be used and how to leave the carpet, floor, and subflooring undamaged as well. The strong suction only pulls up along a thin gap across the entire front of the tool, not the whole head of the tool. So, it is strong but does not pull threads out of the carpet at all. The rest of the tool head combs the carpet to help the moisture and hairs come out. This machine is also great when the baby and little kids have an accident. I finally feel reassured that I can clean my carpet as many times as I need to and keep it clean all the time. The Pet Stain and Odor Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner worked better than any other and it is the only kind I will ever use in this machine as per the directions. It worked very fast and where it touched a spot of wood floor next to the rug, the floor became clean in a minute and looks wonderful. This is a truly professional product for home use.Maureen
Let's face it, if you have a pet(s) in your home at some point in time you will have pet stains, pet hair, and pet odors to deal with. Each of these issues will need to be addressed because when smelled or seen by you or friends it is gross. The product I am reviewing today can handle these messes and restore your rugs, furniture, and other soiled surfaces in your home. This product is the Rug Doctor, Pet Portable Spot Cleaner. The Rug Doctor, Spot Cleaner, is light-weight, and can be hand carried or pull around. It has 2 wheels and a retractable handle release for pulling. This makes it easy for the Rug Doctor to glide over carpet, flat floors, and rugs. The easy carry handle allows movement on or around large pieces of furniture or inside a car. Before cleaning an area, be sure to pick up solid particles then completely vacuum the area. The Rug Doctor has a hand held, dual action scrubbing tool. This tool has a trigger that when pressed releases soap and water to saturate the stained area. For additional help, the brush has rubbery points for deeper penetration of the soiled area. These features help with the removal of pet hair, trapped dirt, stains and odors that are deep-seated in your carpet or furniture. I am amazed at just how dirty things can get over time. I am shocked when I see the dirt that is lifted away when using the Rug Doctor, Pet Portable Spot Cleaner. It has dual tanks that let you see the clean soapy water going into the surface and the return nasty, dirty water coming back out. With this system you no longer have to clean with dirty water. The suction on the Rug Doctor is twice stronger than the other top spot cleaners currently on the market. That's a very important feature and I am glad it has such a powerful suction feature. Included with the Rug Doctor Pet Portable Spot Cleaner is an 8 ounce bottle of Pet Stain and Odor Cleaner. It is recommended that this be used in the Rug Doctor from now on. The User Manual is very helpful and easy to read and understand. It has large photos and explanations that walk you through each and every step to make sure you use the Rug Doctor, Pet Portable Spot Cleaner, correctly for the best results it offers. I feel comfortable recommending this product for use in your home.DD

It's all common sense, if you expect to just leisurely vacuume and have your shampooer do all the rest, then hire a pro. If your willing to take the correct steps in maintaining and shampooing your carpets to remove grime, these are for you.

This is my third Bissell carpet cleaner over the last 15 years. Bissell has continued to do great job with the cleaning performance. I continue to be pleased seeing the imbedded hair and dirt being pulled from my carpet as I clean, and I have a very good vacuum. The ability to clean the machine after use has evolved tremendously because if you don't clean your machine properly, it won't clean as well for you later on. The cleaning tray is the best adaptation to this task yet, makes flushing your machine very easy to. I used to prop my machines up on the counter and spray them out over the sink to clean the brushes well enough. Plus, the cleaning tray is great to use to place your machine on while you change out your tanks…any dirty water residue no longer redeposits back onto your clean carpet. I used to always have a thick towel nearby to place the machine on. The tanks do require lots of flushing and refilling while you do a room, but to be fair, if the tanks were any larger the machine would be too heavy to deal with. Dry time was just only about 5-6 hours on the regular cleaning cycle. Running a fan in the room always helps with drying too. This machine pays for itself in just one use. I have three kids, two large dogs, and a cat so to be able to clean whenever the mood hits me is awesome.
I have owned my Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution pet Pro carpet cleaner for approximately four years. I have small children and a big dog, so I use it often. I've been very pleased with how well this machine cleans. I think the secret is how well it suctions back the dirty water from the carpet so it is important to go very slowly and make sure you've extracted all of the solution. The double cleaning brush rolls do an excellent job and I have used the upholstery tool with great success. Recently my machine stopped spraying water from the cleaning head. When I took my carpet cleaner to a local vacuum repair shop they told me that the parts to repair the unit could no longer be obtained in the US, but they recommended I call customer service and see if they could help me. I have to say the customer service representative that I spoke with was extremely helpful. I did not realize that the warranty on this machine is a full five years! He walked me through troubleshooting and then offered to replace my machine at no cost with a new unit, and promised delivery in a week. I did not have to beg or make demands, and I was on the phone less than 5 minutes! The bottom line, Bissell's customer service may be even better than its carpet cleaners!teresa

We recently adopted a German Shepard puppy and I was concerned about pet messes along with human messes but now that I have the Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner I no longer have those worries. I vacuumed the floor twice thinking I got all the dirt and pet hair out of the carpet before cleaning and I was shocked to see how much pet hair the vacuum cleaner had left behind but the Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner took care of that and left me thinking that it's time for a new vacuum to go along with my new carpet cleaner. The carpet cleaner was easy to assemble with just a phillips head screwdriver and took me about 5 minutes to have it all set up. Filling the tank is super simple and with the heat technology, I didn't have to worry about my water getting cold before finishing since it kept the water warm. We were thinking we were going to have to replace the carpet despite cleaning it regularly with my older carpet cleaner but thanks to the Bissell carpet cleaner it has saved up a huge expense and made our carpet look wonderful. Cleaning was faster than I expected. You want to hold the dispenser lever while pushing forward and pulling backward then you release the lever and push forward and pull backward to suck up the dirty liquid, couldn't be any faster or easier. The bladder tank keeps the clean water from the dirty water and has a handle to carry to the sink for filling or emptying, I chose to empty my outdoors because I didn't want to put dog hair down my sink but that is a personal preference and depends on where you live. I really like the different cleaning levels and that it dispenses the cleaner according to how you set the level of cleanliness. The upholstery tools are great so I can keep my living room couches looking new without all the work of hand cleaning. The cleaner also came with a trial-size bottle of Bissell's Pro Max Clean + Protect formula and I love how well it cleaned but my favorite part was how wonderful it made the whole house smell! I can now keep my carpets super clean even though we now have a house dog and thanks to the Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner I now know it's time for a new vacuum, lol.Wormie
I received this Bissel ProHeat Pet Turbo carpet cleaner from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This carpet cleaner has so many improved features compared to other ones I have used in the past. There are two tanks, both accessed at the base of the machine, and the main water tank has this cool silicone liner so once the clean water leaves, the dirty water never enters the clean compartment; as a mom of toddlers, this clean/dirty separation is huge. The other tank, SmartMix tank, sits at the front lower corner of the machine, and it is clear, so you can see how much cleaning liquid you have left. The location of the SmartMix tank makes attaching it so easy. This carpet cleaner also makes it so easy to switch between soil levels, and allows you to use tools with just the turn of a dial. The hose for the tools is always attached, so you dont have to lug around a bag of brushes and hoses and remember how to assemble each configuration. I love being able to change the setting of how dirty my carpet is with a knob as well, because lets be honest, when youve got time to use your carpet cleaner, you want to be able to use it in different rooms or different dirt levels in the same cleaning session as easily as possible. This machine also makes rinsing your carpet simple; instead of adding cleaning solution, you just add warm water to the SmartMix tank. In additional to two toddlers, I also have two cats and Im not sure if the kids or the cats are messier. While the cats are good about using the litter box, litter does get tracked onto the carpet and after a while I swear the carpet absorbs this musty odor which the ProHeat Pet Turbo has completely gotten rid of. My cats also tend to eat too much and barf right in the middle of my white carpeted room, and I am super relieved that the Pet Turbo has gotten rid of any residual stains from those accidents. Im sure my kids will end up throwing up or spilling something awful on the carpet but Im not even worried about it anymore knowing that the PetTurbo will take care of it. As silly as it sounds, my favorite feature of this carpet cleaner is how easy it is to clean up after using. All you have to do is rinse the two cleaning tanks with water, and (my ultimate favorite thing) use the nozzle clean out tool to pull any rug fuzz or crud out of the floor nozzle. While some people may be unimpressed with the Nozzle Clean Out Tool, I find it to be the most life changing, incredible piece of plastic that exists! Not only does the thin flexible tool fit in the narrow floor nozzle slot, but the opposite end of the tool has teeth to pull clumps and snarls out of the Dirtlifter Powerbrush! All in all, I love this carpet cleaner. Its easy to use and more importantly, easy to clean up after using. And it does a great job! The cleaning action gets stains out the first time, so I actually have the energy to do an extra rinse of the area Ive just cleaned.Kip
I have to say, I have borrow, owned, rented many a-carpet cleaners so far in my life, and this was one of the better ones I have used. HOWEVER, I still found this beast of a cleaner to be HEAVY, very difficult to clean my carpeted stairs with, and it made my carpet a little more wet (which in turn took longer to dry) than I prefer when cleaning my carpets on my own. And because I am not a seasoned carpet cleaner (I only do it myself about once in a blue and hire a professional the other times), I found it also took me FOREVER. I feel like I had to constantly fill the water tank (which explains my sopping wet carpet, post cleaning!), and also take breaks because my hand hurt from the heaviness of this cleaner (I no joke had a callus/blister/sore on my right hand after using this bad boy)! I will say, since this was brand new, right out of the box, it functioned super optimally. I have every stain under the sun on my carpets from my 3 kids (1 human child, 1 kitty cat child, 1 puppy dog child) and not a single stain remained after using this, not even the blood from when my son bashed his head into the couch and split his forehead open THREE YEARS AGO, so that was impressive. Setting this up was not easy for me, and I do not find any directions for anything EVER, no matter how easy or not they are to help me or not help me because I simply just suck at any type of set-up, no matter what it is. But when I recruited my husband to get it going after I failed, he found it quite easy, and it took him no time at all, barely looking at the directions (of course!). To be honest, this carpet cleaner did not have any stand out features that I have not seen before, and it has worked similarly to products I have used before, but I certainly did appreciate all the extra tools it came with, such as the Pet Stain Tool, which I did use a lot of. The heating element was nice, however, I dont know that it got hot enough to disinfect necessarily, but I am sure the heating it did do DID help it to work better at removing stubborn stains, such as the 3 year old blood that didnt come out with previous cleanings. It wouldvebeen nice had the hose been a bit longer for the attachment that allows you to do stairs (I have a massive, winding staircase), so I wasnt struggling as much to make sure I wasnt pulling too hard to get to stairs that were farther away from the cleaner and pulling the vacuum down on top of me, which I found to be nerve wrecking (which yes, has happened before, not with this particular one, but I am scarred). All around nice cleaner, but if we could just tweak the few things I listed above, it would definitely be deserving of more stars! (Also, this thing is HUGE as most carpet cleaners are, can Bissell PLEASE make a carpet cleaner that is more compact, and easier to store? This takes up quite a bit of real estate in my already in demand house!) Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this product in exchange for my honest review.Karla

I purchased this to clean up after a new puppy. The first thing I noticed (which others mentioned) is the “ProHeat”means nothing. The water gets cold fast. Secondly, the hose is entirely too short; the machine is very heavy and cumbersome to move- the short hose makes it nearly impossible to get a job done timely or easily. Next, it just doesn’t clean. I did have a little dirt in the dirty side but the actual look of the carpet and couch didn’t change. Finally, the suction doesn’t suck. Area is still very wet. I plan to return and schedule a professional carpet cleaner. Then will continue to spot clean as usual.mombn
Worst cleaner ever. The pet brush over sprays in all directions. And it refuses to pick up water. It just leaks all over under the machine. Absolute waste of money. I tried it a few different times hoping it was a 1 time error with the leaking under the unit. But nope. It just kept leaking. You have to repeatedly remove and reseat the dirty tank to get it to pick up any water at all. You have to pay attention and when it starts shooting water out the bottom relift and reseat again. Not worth the hassle for the clean I got out of it. Disappointed it took me over the return time frame to try it again. So now I can't return the thing. So they got to keep my money on this one. Next time I will just return it 1st time. And not keep hoping it is something I am not doing right. Don't make my mistake get something different.MamaBearC
This product is awesome! Brought it home and unpacked immediately to use on an area of carpet. Directions, setup an use were super easy to follow (the have images and text), and it is pretty foolproof. I was able to clean a pretty decent area in no time and the suction is quite powerful and pulled a lot of dirt up. There really ain’t anything negative I could say, other than the empty area of the dirty side is a bit small. It even is a compact device that ties up nicely when not in use.TJ

PLEASE read instructions very carefully. If You can manage all that, it is a GOOD MACHINE in that it does Clean very well.If You have the Money for expensive Machines and are a 'Gadget Queen' this Carpet cleaner is a allot of Fun, and a Challange!Once Your things are cleaned, then there is the Question What do I do with this $600 Machine now IN THE CUPBOARD with all the other Gadgets. For Your Time, Your Labour and the Outragious cost of Bissell Cleaning Solutions YOU are better off getting the Professionals in once a Year to be honest! They use their Labour, Time and Products so You don't have to bother.Andrew
