20 Best Steam Cleaner For Sanitizing (Feb 2023 Update)

I bought my Dupray Neat Steamer 2 years ago. It’s become one of my favorite cleaning tools for tackling the tough and weird to clean things like the couch and our big area rug. Since my last cleaning, I had an issue with the cap getting stuck despite proper cleaning and air drying after my last use. I was very happy to work with Nilan in customer service who helped me with my warranty and shipping. One of my favorite things Ive ever bought. Its so easy to use. I absolutely love it. I love that I can use my own cloths on it instead of purchasing the expensive pads. It does come with 3. My only complaints are I wish the hose detached and it would be nice if there was a safety switch so I could lock the trigger so my 2 year old cant mess with it. If I need to take a break I have to shut it off and put it up so he cant get it. Then I have to wait for it to heat back up. Other than that its definitely worth the price.Beth

I've been using this steam cleaner for a while now. I used it to completely clean an apartment that I was moving out of and the landlord was impressed with the cleaning job that we did. The carpet was a little trampled down in the high traffic areas and the stream treatment helped to bring it back to its former fluffy self. I use it almost every weekend to clean my bathrooms and hard floors as well. I never have issues with steam productions and it has held up so far.Tyler

This product is great. It puts the Shark steam cleaner to shame. Its very powerful and last quite a long time on just a cup of water. It will give you about 15-20 minutes of continuous usage. However, if you press the trigger sporadically, it can last about 30-45 minutes. The steam blast is loud and packs a punch. I use this thing to clean and sanitize everything from my bathroom to the kitchen (always sanitize the nozzle with bleach or alcohol after use to avoid cross contamination). Another great feature is all the attachments it comes with so you can steam clean almost anything. My only issue is the quality of some of the attachment. The small brushes and scrub pads aren't really reusable. After the first usage, they start to fall apart, especially the scrub pads which are excellent for cleaning your tub and tile. You can buy more attachments online, but its kind expensive costing 10 for 5. One reason I switched to steam cleaning was to save money on cleaning solutions, but if I have to constantly buy the attachments, eventually it will work out to cost more than the cleaning solutions. But I recently used the steamer to clean this very disgusting fridge in the apartment Im renting. I bought this tool to clean 1/2 grout tile floor grout. It worked great for the first 10 minutes, and it would great for the process, except it is not designed properly. I has a special small nozzle head, upon which small brush attachments are placed. There are three pieces, brush, nozzle, and nozzle attachment (to hook to hose or hose extension). The nozzle is made of thermoplastic, like the rest of the unit, except the pressure chamber cap, which is brass. The nozzle needed to be made of brass as well. The thermoplastic heats up, and a threaded piece (with o-ring) when at temperature cannot handle GENTLE scrubbing with the brush. (e.g. for the purpose it is made.) The nozzle fitting jumps the threads every time, once it heats up. So the unit is only good to use for about 10 minutes, before the nozzle gets soft from heat, and falls off constantly. If they made the nozzle out of brass, and the end piece (nozzle attach) out of metal, it would work great. But they didn't, so it is pure frustration to CONSTANTLY put the nozzle on again, and again, and again. This gets 1 star. It works great for 10 minutes, then its useless. If used with the larger attachments, it would probably be a great value; but I need it to clean grout. It says it cleans grout, but it really doesn't.MesaGuy

I've only used the MC1275 once to clean shower floor tile grout using the scrub pad attachment. I filled the steam chamber one time with distilled water, and the steam was ready in approximately 5 minutes. It was easy to control, but did a marginal job restoring the whiteness of the grout. The scrub pad itself came loose and separated completely from its plastic base in under 10 minutes. While the steamer worked as advertised, steaming cleaning the grout didn't live up to my expectations, and the scrub pad's durability was a major disappointment. The good – it produced steam reliably; control is easy to maintain. The bad – the scrub pad is virtually useless for scrubbing applications; steam alone will not magically clean discolored tile grout.beforemytime

I bought this two months ago to replace my previous Shark steam mop (a different model), which my daughter "borrowed". I have also had other brands of steam mops in the past. I like that the water tank is removable and can be filled directly from the tap and there is not a little jug which needs to be stored somewhere. I like that it is light and relatively small and hence easy to store and carry. I also like that it stands up by itself. My previous mop had the flip over option and the cloth was like a pocket, with only one side open. Unfortunately it shrank on its first wash and never fitted properly again, often coming off mid-mopping (one of the reasons I did not press y daughter to return it), so I liked that this model's cloth attached differently. The bit I did not anticipate with this model was that whilst the cloths stays on fine when mopping hard floors, I cannot use it to steam clean carpets as the cloths sticks to the carpet in preference to the mop. I wish I had known this before buying this mop. This is the first steam mop I have had where you have to prime the pump to get the steam flowing. This requires you to pump the handle a few times. What the instructions do not say is that you have to continue the pumping action to keep the steam flowing. Now, this happens automatically as you are mopping the floor, but when you stop to move the mop around furniture (which most of us have on our floors) the steam stops and then you have to pump it several times to get it going again. Same issue if you want to hold the mop on a stain to give it a while to soften, steam flow stops. So, overall I would not rush to buy this model again, despite it having some good features.CN263

If you are looking for a small, steam mop that delivers big results, look no further! I decided going in, that this steam mop was going to just be mediocre. But, much to my surprise, cleaned like no one’s business! The little water basin could be a little larger, but it’s not a deal breaker imo. Once plugged in, expect to be ready to mop away in about 20-30 seconds. Yes, for once a product literally gives an accurate description. The mop was super quick and easy to set up and the longer cable meant getting around large floors wasn’t such a task after all, I was reluctant to buy in favour of a cordless but couldn’t find one, I guess for electrical safety reasons these cannot be cordless. Plenty of steam, remember to do the pump action if you experience low steam with it. It takes me moments to go around and do all of our floors here, and the mop came with two pads so I’m not without if the other one hasn’t gone in with the mucky wash yet. The pad head itself twists around in movement so I can easily manoeuvre it down the sides of the toilet and any other skinny gap floor areas that fit. The price was competitive in the sale, and for something as good as this I would go as far as saying overall my purchase is outstanding. Highly recommend!Rachel

Steam mops are magical! My cleaning heart is so happy! We moved in three years ago and the floor in our bathroom has always looked like this. I probably scoured 30+ years of grime out of these tiles. So gross! Still not my favorite tile, but I can at least live with it for a little while longer and not get totally disgusted every time I look at it. The Bissell Powerfresh Slim 3-in-1 is my new best friend! Using the handheld pod, red brush, and a bit of elbow grease to scrub both tile and grout it performed really well. The grime was really built up and I had to clean out the bristles often, but I was expecting that for the initial deep clean. I also pretreated the tile flooring with a vinegar solution to loosen the dirt before scrubbing and that worked like a charm. For a big job like this I had to refill the tank several times, but if there was a larger water tank it would have added extra weight and made it difficult to maneuver the pod. Haven't tried the extension arm or the mop head yet, but I think it will be a great way to keep all that grime build up at bay.Anna

It's great! It works really well for a variety of things – cleaning floors, counters, sanitizing things. It's not noisy like some steam mops are. The added storage that clicks onto the machine for some of the extra attachments and the docking station that holds everything is a nice added bonus. It's easy to manoeuvre and reach hi and low. My reason for not giving 5 stars is because I feel that at the price point it is in, it should be a cordless machine. The cord it has is long, which is nice, however I was originally looking for a cordless machine. Not sure how the logistic would work on making one, but I can't imagine it would take that much battery power to head up and move the water. Would definitely invest in a cordless if it was on the market. The only other issue I noticed is the mop pads stain really really easy. I only used it once and washed the mop pad right away, hung to dry but it's incredibly stained.Vanessa

I have had this steam cleaner for about a year, I absolutely love it! However there are some issue that have to be solved. The biggest disappointment is the fabric steamer attachement, it is faulty. It does not snap into place as well as the other pieces. I have had 2 others went to me and they all do the same thing. As you are using this attachment, it will come off on its own. Very dangerous in my opinion. I constantly have to hold the steamer at an angle so it does not detach. Also, this machine needs an on off switch instead of a trigger. It becomes annoying after a while. And lastly, the stick has become loose, it moves side to side when using.Sandra

Love this mop. Cleans carpets, windows, furniture, just think of what you could possibly clean. Believe it or not this mop with detachable handheld steamer will remove wrinkles before your eyes. u hust received this item today. I was excited to use it si ive only used this one time so far, on my hardwood floors. It heated up quickly and lasted longer than expected. It was able to get up some spots that regular swiffering or mopping couldnt get. I do not like how short the cord is. I dont have a large house and my stuck vacuum can be plugged in the center of the house and go everywhere. This steam mop have to be plug in two separate outlets, and would've been more if I did the whole house. Also i don't like that the plug can't be clipped on the cord to store. That seems like its just obvious for it to gave that little extra piece. Those are my reviews so far. I'll update if it warrants.Tracy

we moved homes and omg, when I say this, I mean it, but this is my absolute most favorite utility ever. the previous home owners weren't exactly the cleanest and this steam vacuum wasn't gonna take any of that. paint on the floor that even those industrial grade stain removers couldnt peel? no problem. sticky icky gooey set in mess on the counter? no problem. nasty stains in the bathtub? no problem. disgusting window stuff? consider it gone. cabinets dirty and messy? not anymore. this little tool has been phenomenal when it came to cleaning everything around the house, the house legitimately felt like it was brand new after we were done with rhis. btw for anyone wondering, I did all this by using the pressure attachment only on the steam vacuum, nothing else. while steaming the messy spots, I would rub it back and forth with the steam vacuums nozzle itselfShamim

I love this steam mop. It is super easy to use and saves so much time. I have 5 cats and a dog, my floors get gross quickly and are very difficult to keep clean. This mop takes all the effort out of scrubbing the floor. What use to take almost an hour takes about 15 mins. The cord is super long and the steam mop is very sturdy but not to heavy. With the spin setting it basically walks on the floor all by itself. This has made my floors look great andy life so much easier. This is my 4th of 5 big shark item and I seriously love them all. I was so excited to unbox the Shark S7201 Steam & Scrub with Steam that I received in exchange for my use and honest review. It came very securely packed and all items were in perfect condition. A handy instruction booklet was included. I was happy to discover how easy this product is to use – the pads connect very easily and the Steam & Scrub is so easy to operate – just the touch of a finger and the pads do all the work for you. There is a Steam Blaster mode that makes hard-to-scrub spills come right up. My favorite thing about this product is that I can feel good about not having to use harsh chemicals on my floors – with pets this is a real concern. I have owned a steam mop before but it just wasn't that great. It would move the dirt around. You really have to vacuum well before you use a steam mop because this does not actually pick up the loose dirt. It was easy to put together, however, when I was trying to turn it on the first time, it kept blinking. You need to pull back the handle for it to start. It uses distilled water to preserve the inside parts. The hot water will disinfect your floor but I also squirted a bit of cleaner on the floor after a pet accident. You should not add chemicals to the water reserve. Once turned on, it kind of moves itself around but it is not hard to pull back. I love that it has lights so you can see the dirt better. It has 4 pads, which I definitely need. I do pet sitting and my floors get filthy quickly so the added extra pads allow me to continue on instead of stopping to wash the pads. The water reserve is not large so you will have to add more water. I didn't see a notification light as to when the water is low, which would help. There may be one, but I didn't see it. This mop gets the job done quickly! And most importantly feels so nice on my feet after I am done. The rotating pads really do a good job. There is a steam button for heavily soiled spots. It did not get rid of some of the dried-up gook but I just took a sponge and scrubbed it a little. I like not having to use harmful chemicals to clean the floor and feel good using this around pets. The pads are easily washed in the washing machine and you can add bleach if they become stained. I have used this on both tile and laminate. I am extremely happy with this mop. It definitely beats using a regular mop.LoriH

I have many animals and hardwood and tile throughout my home. I have had a Shark and Orek steam mops before and thought they did a decent job. But I am a hardcore Bissell fan when it comes to vacuums because of the massive shedding from the pets not to mention my drooling Mastiffs. I went with this Bissell for the brand and am more than satisfied with my choice. This model, 1940W, does an exceptional job of cleaning both my hardwood and tile floors without streaking or having to go over the saliva enzymes 20x before it lifts. I can really clean my floors easily on the medium setting and did my kitchen, dining room, living room, and hallway which is about 1600sq. feet without having to refill the tank. The scrubbing pad made easy work of getting up any spills or sticky spots, all in one quick motion. This is steamer mop is far better than the other two I had. The cord is plenty long and the scent discs which I didn't think would be a big deal actually are. The whole house smelled wonderful and the scent even wafted upstairs. I bought this when it was deeply discounted to replace my other current options, which were either a bucket/mop with a lil fabuloso or pinesol or getting on my hands and knees with a rag. I already have a Dyson handheld cordless vacuum, so I decided not to get the vacuum steam mop combo version, and just get this lighter steam mop only instead. Just as the Dyson made me not mind vacuuming, I thought that getting the lighter steam mop would do the same for me but for mopping, even though it's corded. I have to say, it does what it says it'll do. It's not as detailed as spending hours in the floor with a hand-rag, or as deep cleaning as soaking the tile floor with a mop-bucket but it's wayyyyy less mess, dries wayyyy faster, it's wayyyy more ergonomic, and more likely that I'll do this more often than the other two methods, which was basically out of desperation once a year. I also really like that the pads are reusable and washable, even if it's kind of a pain to remember to wash them, and don't even mind the cord. It's the perfect length to cover my entire kitchen without unplugging. Glad I held out for this. Boy did I do My research on this Baby! As a user/owner I am being honest by saying There are a few issues with this Machine. No issue alone is Problematic, it CLEANS VERY WELL INDEED, however when there are 5 issues at once, it starts to ad up.The Bissell Cleaning Solutions are Exellant but Soo expensive(look for Generics). To clean a 3BD Home with Lounge/Dinning Stair case and Hallways will set you back between $100- 150 on Bissell Cleaning Solutions, I'm not kidding!!The 2 roller Brushes are Very Agressive compared to the suction, they literally rip the Carpet Fibres up in Chunks then block the Machine. The On/Off button is way down the side were you have to feel for it because You are standing to high trying to Juggle the Power cord and God knows what, it should on the top Driving handle. The water/Solution tank is far to small and the Water and Solution level marks are impossible to see. There is allot of Back and forth to the Bathroom tub to keep refilling and adding yet more Expensive Solutions while splashing water about. Don't even try and use it to clean your Matress(big Soggy mess). The cleaning attachments are OK, but it will take hours to clean Your Sofa and will hurt Your wrists (RSI) good job though. It is heavy and Combisome. This little steamer produces a large amount of steam for the whole time that it is activated. The most useful attachment so far has been the nozzle. I used the unit to sanitize an entire mattress and box spring. I am satisfied that it was hot enough to kill all the mites and small spiders we were seeing when changing bedding. I used a small brush attachment on a few stains after I had applied some all purpose cleaner and it lifted the stains with only light brushing. I loved all the attachments on this steamer. Once I started steaming, I couldn't stop! I used every attachment for different purposes. The microfiber cloth and rectangular attachment worked great on my wood floors! The small nylon brush and steel brush were awesome for grout lines! I would have given a 5 star review; however, I wasn't impressed with the window tool. We have a glass shower and it took a LONG time to clean…and didn't work well. Traditional glass cleaner was much more effective and a LOT easier. I also wish the unit came with more microfiber cloths.SJO

This cleaner does a very good job of cleaning. It heats up quickly and has very good pressure, which is adjustable. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the locking buttons are hard to press to release attachments. I deep cleaned my entire house with this steam cleaner. It's amazing. It stands by brilliantly without leaking steam while I move things around to clean more. I find that the 700ml lasts a good while before needing to be refilled. The only draw back is that if you must refill you need to let it cool off and depressurize before adding more water. Pros you can use tap water but make sure you maintain per Dupray instructions with vinegar rinse after so many uses. I used every single attachment and I love it but I still need to get the hang of the squeegee. My favorite moment was getting the cracks between my shower surround that I couldn't get with anything else. The pressurized steam blasted out the gunk. It was disturbing and oh so satisfying at the same time. I feel better knowing that I can clean soft surfaces that I can't throw in the laundry, especially for the coming baby. 100% worth the cost, and I'm glad I chose the home over the Neat.Christy R

Nice build for placing steam where it needs to be. I purchased this a few months ago but have not used it often but when I did it seem to work well and have the benefit of no chemical residue. The actual steam part works great, no doubt about that. I've tried it for cleaning and steaming clothes, but the unit can be clunky and awkward. The cord can be a problem simply because you have to be near an outlet all the time. The unit is not super steady and balanced, so it sometimes tipped over or tilted forward like it was going to fall. There was no way to tell how much water had been used up or when it was empty until it just stopped producing steam and then you'd have to wait several minutes before you could water in it again, so that was a little annoying. It's not a bad steamer, but it definitely has some design flaws.Kimmie

This is not much bigger than dollhouse furniture if you ask me. I bought this months ago and if I had actually taken it out to use it before now, I would have returned it. I had no idea the parts were this small! Good for cleaning very very small spaces! Couldn't handle the laundry area at all. Only good for maybe a sink. Not to mention almost gave my self third degree burns 10 minutes after letting it cool off. The top says 5 minutes. I had been considering buying a steamer for some time. We have slate floors, and a walk in tile shower that I hate using nasty chemicals on. I was excited when I seen Joe had come out with one. It didn't have any reviews when I bought it (or even videos), but I took a leap. Shipping took a long time, but I certainly understand considering the time we live in now with the Covid19 virus. The only problem I have is the day it was delivered, I received an ad from Walmart, for the same unit for thirty dollars less than I paid. So much for getting a special deal on a new product! Yes I could have refused shipment, or returned it. I know it's my fault, and you can be sure I'll be more careful in the future. That said.. This unit is for small jobs as advertised. It is super quick, and easy to use. It heats up incredibly fast. I am very happy with the performance, and will use it often. It is not a bad item. One piece was broken in the box when received but all other parts were intact. It does stem but at times more water than steam come out and that makes it hard but it does get scum build up when you have it on high pressure and get close to the area that has the dirt and scum. Only just unpacked my new steamer but it scores 100% for ease of using steam controls with an arthritic thumb. This was a replacement for a highly recommended hand held steamer I received as a Christmas present but was unable to hold down the trigger that produced the steam, due to my arthritis. This steamer uses a whole hand grip on a much larger trigger, it is also light, although not flimsy, making it easy to maneuver on its three wheels. The steamer is very quick to heat up and ready to use in less than a minute. The steam jet is powerful and I would recommend this product. The design has been well thought out and all the accessories have a place to be stored on the machine. However I cannot find a convenient way to store the hose and power lead as neither are detachable. At present I have wound them around the steamer but this is less than satisfactory and given the rest of the design is so good I would have thought there was a better solution.249ers

I purchased the steamer to clean my shower glass. I was going to remodel my bathroom because I could not clean the shower stall glass. It had hard water build up. I decided to purchase the steamer as the last resort to try and clean the hard water spots. we already have a high-pressure cleaner from Kärcher and are convinced of the very good quality of Kaercher. we already had a steam cleaner from Kärcher in Germany and have finally been able to buy one again here. The operation is very easy, there are various attachments and you can start right away. Everything plug system, cartridge purely, water purely and off you go. The system can be operated in two settings. The normal function is quite sufficient to clean surfaces. The power level with the small brush is perfect for corners and places where really the hard dirt is. We would recommend this steam cleaner without hesitation to anyone who wants to keep their household clean!realkingsman

I have two long haired cats. In my kitchen near the stove I had a lot grease buildup from cooking. Lately I stated to notice my cats hair was shredding and the loose hair was now getting in the grease. I ordererorderer the H20 Mop because I really needed some help. This product took just minutes to put together. The water heats up even quicker and it really did the job. The steam loosens up the grease and the hair, and with one wipe it came off. It takes less than a minute to warm up. The heat is hot enough to melt away candle wax and nail polish on hardwood floors. It is a little hard, however, to clean vehicle seats with but that's what a detailer is used for! I recommend it. I use it for my tub, my floors and my rugs. So when I saw that they came out with a Shark scrubber steamer, I obviously had to try it out! First time out of the box, I was super excited to try it out. For whatever reason, it wouldn't run long enough to put out any steam. This style has a timer on it and it will shut off after a couple of minutes if it's not at an angle and being used. I suppose this is a safety feature since it will stand on it's own and could potentially ruin flooring if it was turned on and accidentally forgotten. Anyways, 2nd time out of the box, it started up just fine and began to put out steam. I like the dual rotating heads that seem to actually scrub my floor. It works well on ceramic tile & textured laminate flooring. But I will have to say that I'm not impressed with the swirls that it leaves on my light-colored wood laminate. I would suggest the original Shark steamers if your flooring shows streaking at all.zamiek

Having owned multiple vaccines from Shark, and living then all, we were pretty excited to use the Shark® Steam & Scrub All-in-One Scrubbing and Sanitizing Hard Floor Steam Mop. Now having owned it for a few months, it’s clear that the product certainly lives up to the high standard I’ve learned to expect from the brand. It came packaged well and in pristine condition. It took only a few minutes to get it ready to work. Attaching the handle and scrubbers was all the installation needed, and after adding water from the included plastic cup, I was ready to mop. The design is sturdy and easy on the hands. It’s light enough not to weary me out, even after using it for a long time. The handle was comfortable, and the cord was very long so I didn’t need to reposition it and lengthen my time cleaning. It heats very quickly, it’s sound it reasonable, not too loud or quiet, and it has superior scrubbing action as the pads mixed with the steam, resulting on the cleanest floor of any steam mop I’ve ever used (and we are no stranger to steam mops as most of our home’s flooring is solid surface. The pads are machine washable, which definitely saves in the pocketbook. The cord is stowed by the usual method of threading between two hooks, one at the top of handle and the other at the bottom of mop head. It is holding up perfectly, and because it seems to have been designed as well as my other Shark vacuums, I anticipate that it will last me for years to come. While moping the floor is still one of my least favorite chores, the Shark Steam and Scrub has definitely made the task easier, and provided much better results. I have been using this Shark scrubbing steam mop for a few weeks now and I have mixed emotions. It works really well on my tile and hard wood floors don’t get me wrong but I don’t believe it scrubs. The pads are microfiber and have no real scrubbing agent other than the spinning heads. I find myself still having to get down and scrub parts of my floor. It is very easy to use and gets hot and ready to use very quickly which I like. The water reservoir is on the smaller side and with my 2700+ square foot house I do have to refill it many times in one cleaning session. The cup to fill the reservoir is small as well. It glides easily when in use and I truly believe it sanitizes and my floors look beautiful and clean after each use. The pads are easy to clean but I just can’t get over the lack of scrubbing power it has. Maybe it would be better for smaller homes or even just spot mopping. It has two setting but I tend to use the normal setting for more power rather than the light setting even when I just need to mop up a small mess.Gigi3

I am amazed at how effective this machine is at cleaning up even very old pet stains from carpet and mattress topper. I have two chihuahuas that occasionally barf on the bed or my carpeted bedroom floor, and sometimes they will pee too on the carpeting. I of course blot up as much as possible when this occurs but it was still gross. Not bad enough that it stank to high heaven or anything but the beige carpet looked gross with lots of little spots and definitely needed a freshening. I couldn't believe how immediately this machine removes the pee and barf stains!! Even ones that were really old, even got old bile stains out of a white mattress topper-quickly and easily. Everything looks and smells great now. I really can barely believe it! I happened to get this machine second hand/used from someone's tag sale but I would pay the full price. When I first got the Little Green I used it primarily for cleaning spots on area rugs. It worked well, but always leaked every single time I used it. The suction is pretty weak for a carpet cleaner…I have even done a thorough clean of all the tubes and nozzle to make sure it was 100% clean without any blockage. After not using it for 6 months (and misplacing the water nozzle and suction brush during a move) I replaced both items through the Bissell site. I once again made sure all compartments were clean in the machine before use. Now when I use the machine the dirty water excessively leaks from the bottom (or some area at the bottom of the machine) and the leakage has gotten EXTREMELY worse. I ended up having to place the machine on a heavy duty trash bag on top of a high absorbent mat. When I use the suction, there are LITERAL BUBBLES coming from the bottom of the machine. NOTHING is going into the dirty water tank. Before anyone asks, yes the suction top on the dirty water container is closed and all items are in the proper place. So moral of the story is that instead of having dirty water in the designated tank, it is now pooling in the trash bag. After tonight I will NOT be using this product ever again. Come on Bissell, do better.MFritch

I received my mop within 3 days and having owned a previous one, similar but not a Black & Decker, I was very impressed with the quality of the standard of material of the mop and Portable Steamer and accessories. I cleaned the white tiles in my kitchen and was happy with the result. I was disappointed that I did not receive a carpet glider and an accessory bag which I was supposed to receive with this model.Berna
