Best I have ever used, after several Ion flat irons. I thought each of them was best when purchased. I bought this to have as backup for when my current Ion was out of commission. I liked it so well, I relegated my current iron to backup and now use this one exclusively. First and primary improvement is that the temp control is located on the inside portion of the iron. On the older one, it was easy to accidentally hit the "off" button (located on the outside of the barrel), cooling the iron. Then had to heat it up again. This Ion heats up quickly and does the job beautifully. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

I got this Icon version after my revolution stopped working after years and the warranty was up. I was glad I did because it performs as well if not better. Im usually fighting with a comb and having to lay the straightener down while I pick up the comb to comb it. Its a battle. This product solved my problem. The only drawback is my bangs are very short and it doesnt work with short hair. Will have to use old straightener till they grow out then into the recycling bin with the old. I used it for the first time today and I was very pleased. I did find that right after, my hair was nice and straight, but as time went by, later on in the day, the roots of my hair didn’t stay as bone straight. It would be nice if you could use it in more than one direction. The comb has to always be on the bottom side in the downward direction when you are straightening your hair. This straightener is the worst I have bought! Returning immediately! You have to go over the same section of hair more than 15 times before it’s actually straighten! Not exaggerating one bit and the worst thing about it is that my hair is just a bit wavy! Should be quick to straighten my hair, but it’s NOT! Ugghh! Total waste of my time and money! I have the Ion Fusion 2.0. It is the worst straightener I've ever owned. I have thick, loosely wavy hair and even on full heat, 450 degrees, it still takes 4+ passes to get a small section remotely straight. I don't believe it actually gets up to 450. It also pulls my hair so badly, every third pass or so I have to stop and pull out hairs that are stuck in the plates – you can see in the picture how much hair I lost during one straightening session. It gets stuck midway through my hair even though I use a good heat spray AND I brush my hair thoroughly before straightening, plus again each section right before straightening. You can get better quality at the drugstore. I will never buy PYT hair products again and I'll be replacing this one ASAP.andrea.z
I love this straightener. I've been using it for more than 4 years. It doesn't burn my hair. Once I straighten my hair I don't have to touch up until I have washed my hair. This is without a doubt my favorite straightener that falls under an affordable price for the average person. I've used many that were really horrible in the same price range. This one has adjustable temperature and heats up in 30 seconds. It only takes 1 or 2 swipes down the hair to smooth it out so you are not overheating and damaging your hair completely. I can't see myself ever spending $150-$200+ on a flat iron .. Although I was almost to that point. I tried many mid priced irons in the past several months since I got my hair cut to my shoulders.(cut 17 inches off!) I never really styled it when it was so long … It just took too much time. I bought a couple of conair irons to try .. And I wasn't impressed. Something about this one caught my eye and I bought it. I tried it for the first time and was SO annoyed and disappointed .. Because it worked so well – but my hands always pushed the settings buttons when I ironed my hair, and turned off the iron or changed the heat setting. I tried many different ways to hold it.. And finally figured out that the middle part and end of the iron did not get hot. That's the natural place you want to hold the iron when you straighten, but I've been burned before when I did that.. So I automatically always held my irons closer to the cord end of the iron. But the outside of the plates do not get hot – even at 455 degrees. So finally .. I can hold the iron and squeeze the plates where I've always needed to!AJ
As a black woman with natural hair, this is the best flat iron I've ever had. I've had it for 6 years and it shows no signs of stopping. Yes, the buttons are in a bad place, but that is nothing when compared to how great it works to leave my hair frizz-free! The cord is heavy duty which is good it’s not going to short out or get damaged cause it’s so thick but it gets in the way at times. Otherwise it’s very smooth on my hair. I bought this straightener a couple years ago at Sephora, I was debating between this one and a ghd one. After reading reviews, I decided to go with this Bio Ionic straightener because it was also cheaper. I was super excited to try it because it claimed to have these silicone strips that helped smooth and straighten even more. I have very frizzy wavy natural hair so I wanted this to work. After several attempts to straighten my hair, I found it was not a product that worked for my hair. My hair would get stuck in the blades and when I tried to rip my hair out I would burn myself. I was not a fan of how it worked. No matter how I tried, my hair got stuck when trying to clamp and slide down in sections, even very small ones. I also found it funny the name of it was called “one pass� when I actually had to go down several times on the same section to even get it remotely straight. I ended up returning it and buying the ghd one and paying the difference in price. I personally wouldn’t recommend this flat iron. There are many other options that do a better job to smooth and straighten hair. Especially for paying almost $300, you would hope this would work wonders.caitlin.w
