I used to own a Hot Tools flat iron, but once I received this flat iron for Christmas a few years ago, the Hot Tools one was promptly donated. The best part of this flat iron is how securely it clamps onto my hair. I don't need an iron grip in order to get good tension; the flat iron does it on its own. It also heats up extremely quickly – if I spray heat protectant on my hair and then immediately turn on the flat iron, the heat protectant will not be dry before the flat iron comes to temp. I also love the multiple temperature settings. I have loosely wavy hair that holds heat styling well, and I always have the temperature set to 365° F. My sister has curly hair, so when I'm doing her hair, we either keep the temperature at 365° or increase it one setting (to around 400°) depending on the day. I also love the aesthetics of this flat iron and of Kristin Ess' entire line of tools. The soft touch is nice and grippy, and it's never slipped out of my hand. I've owned this flat iron for years, and even though I don't straighten my hair every day, I've never had an issue with anything rubbing off. This is the first, and probably only, flat iron I would recommend to anyone asking for it.Katie
I used this flat iron about once a week and loved it. The temperature heats very quickly but the downside is that it shuts off after 30 minutes. I have really long thick hair and it takes me about one hour to straighten all of it. So it’s a bit of an inconvenience shutting off after 30 minutes. I was really disappointed that after having it for only a few months, it began malfunctioning, saying “error” on the display and turning off every 10 minutes.
I have the nanoblack 3-in-one flat iron (couldn’t find it in Influenster) the full size, not the mini. It has a 9ft cord that moves with the iron (like if you’re doing curls) it’s not fixed to it, this is helpful if you’re like me have hair past your butt + it helps keep your cord from getting twisted. This iron is beautiful, it has a very soft silky feel to it is super sleek looking. It’s fairly light weight comfortable to hold. My hand wrist don’t get tired half way through doing my hair. It doesn’t have a lock on it to keep it closed but it does come with a cap you can slide over the end which keeps it closed, the instructions sheet says the cap is heat proof but I don’t quite trust that it is so I leave the iron in my sink until it cools down before putting the cap on (which fits quite snugly) hanging it up. As far as heat up time WOW this thing heats up FAST! It took less than 30 seconds for it to get up to temp! The sides are rounded so you can easily do curls without getting crease lines in them, although I haven’t quite mastered the technique of curling with a flat iron yet. One thing I was worried about was that hair would snag but after using it a few times that’s no longer a concern. My hair slides through it like silk. It has ceramic plates which are great for those of us who tend to get static hair after using hot tools (ugh the worst) It has a few different heat settings. I did have to look up how to do that since there’s no dial or specific button for that but it was easy to do. Just keep clicking the power button quickly until it’s the temp you want. When you plug it in you have to hit the power button, it doesn’t just start heating up on its own like other irons I’ve owned in the past. With all that being said I definitely do recommend this iron if you’re in the market for a new one. It came in a really nice heavyweight cardboard box with a magnetic flap, I’m sure most will throw it away but if you’re like me keep the boxes to repurpose or so your tools are more protected during travel this is a good box that won’t be crushed or damaged easily.krystal .d

I had this flat irons for 3 years now. I set it to 450. After clarifying my hair 3 times or 2 times I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo which I use only one time. Then the conditioner lastly the deep conditioner which I set under the dryer for about 20 minutes. I rinse my hair with lukewarm water then a quick 10 sec shot of ice cold water. I t shirt dry my hair let it set to absorb the water, put some leave in conditioner on my hair then some hair heat protector serum. I section my hair blow dry it on low heat. After I flat iron my hair on 450 using the chase method. It takes me 2 hours to flat iron my hair. My hair is 4c, naturally blonde (do not ask me my race or where I am from because I don't know.), my hair is so thick that sometimes I actually lost my comb in my hair plenty of times. Straight from the box, this straightener has a soft high-quality feel and sleek look. It’s really nice to hold due to whatever material it’s made out of. The straightener also has an auto-shut off feature, which is exactly what I needed because I always worry that I forgot to turn my straightener off. Oddly enough, due to the auto-shut off, this straightener has alleviated a lot of stress for me. Lastly, regarding design, it comes with a heat-proof nozzle, which is such a nice feature when you have a small countertop like I do and tend to burn yourself after you’ve finished straightening your hair. As for straightening, this works wonderfully. I have fine wavy hair that tends to frizz at the tips and curl. It takes me fifteen minutes to straighten my hair, but this straightener made my hair look shinier and straighter without any kinks. I have small hands and i think it is the perfect size. Better yet it is coated in such a soft rubbery type material on the surface which makes it easy to grip and less likely to slip. As someone who easily burns herself on irons by having them slip this is a huge plus for me. At first I was confused where the digital display would be (before I turned it on) but once I did and saw it light up in the pretty rose gold part at the bottom I was very excited. That makes it seem very high end and fancy. Another really great design is the power button- it is on the inside of the straightening iron. How many times have I accidentally turned the power off or the heat up or down? Too many! This totally solves that issue because you can accidentally push a button on the inside. You control the heat and power with that one button and it’s very easy to understand and do. \n\nAnother thing about the design of this iron is the very cool heat resistant cover that comes with it. I do like it however as a flat iron. This really has no bells or whistles. It’s a simple, straightforward flat iron. It has nine heat settings and it comes with a chart so you know the perfect temperature for your particular hair type. My hair glides through effortlessly without any snagging or pulling and my hair comes out shiny, smooth but still has body. I don’t like when flat irons make the hair pin straight. It lacks body, depth and fullness and I don’t think it’s a flattering look. This one luckily doesn’t do that. It tames flyaways, frizz and makes the hair look healthier. I have a new original CHI analog flat iron, but kind of missed having the option of adjusting the heat level (I got the one that is set at 392) when styling my hair so decided to splurge on a T3 as a back up. I really wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do, but I am really glad I invested in this because it is probably one of the best flat irons I've used in years. It has its particular cons – I would like a lock on the plates to keep them closed when not in use, and I think it does slightly dry out the hair a wee bit more than others, but, it does style better, so! The way the plates are shaped, you can do perfect waves and red carpet curls without needing to manipulate your hair a lot. I was testing this the day I got it, and was able to get beautiful, shiny, bouncy curls by simply rolling the flat iron and twisting right after while the hair was still hot. Oh, and it gets HOT! Like, super HOT! I turned it down a little because even at level 4, I felt a good amount of heat coming off the plates. Surprisingly, you can hold the iron without gloves or a cloth and not burn yourself. It is slightly more drying than my CHI as I previously mentioned, but I think it's a lot more versatile and more adept at creating a wider range of styles, so that is a big plus for me. I bought this flat iron in 2019 and worked great. This is year both top and bottom elements stopped heating and thought it stopped working because it was old. I decided to buy a new one in May 2022 and the bottom element of the flat iron stopped heating up in September, 2022. Im really disappointed and don't recommend buying it if you are looking for a lasting flat iron. Otherwise its great when its working.
I love my Amika flat iron but… I feel like when u pull it down through your hair it’s not that smooth. It get snagged or my hair gets caught. Maybe it’s operator error? Anyway, what I do like is that it heats up fast, you can control the temp (it goes up to 450) and the ends are rounded so u can use it to curl too. This is the flat iron I currently have. Although I don’t straighten my hair as much or hardly ever, anymore, I’m not super impressed by this one. I've been sleeping on this brand for years and finally decided to try it… game changer! I had the prima in my hand but figured why not start with this one first? Now I'm wishing I would've paid the extra $80 because this basic one is exceptional so I'm sure the higher model is excellent! After blow drying, I was able to get my naturally curly hair bone straight in < 25 mins and the style has stayed for going on three days now with no touch ups (and taking good care of it at night). Honestly wish I would've gotten this forever ago, could've saved my ends and my time by not having to touch it up daily. I love it!!! As for some of the negative reviews, I assume it's user error. I'll preface this by saying everyone's hair is different so this may work for your hair, but it didn't work for mine. This is light weight, but feels incredibly cheap and flimsy. The buttons are right under my hand while trying to straighten so I continuously pushed buttons and changed the heat settings. The comb attachments made my hair frizzy and staticky so I removed them but it still didn't straighten my hair. My hair is a little more course/dry feeling but usually gets some shine and looks great after straightening. I also have a mildly wavy hair. Even after repeatedly straightening my hair throughout the day, it was still dull, frizzy, had some really funky bends/twists at the end.Momof2
I really wanted to like this flat iron, but it turned out to be average at best. The curl protecting plates didn't really do anything aside from get stuck in my hair or prevent me from getting a full piece of the section. I love Conair's flat irons but this one didn't do it for me. I also disliked how they didn't include heat setting instructions and I had to push every button on it before I figured out how to change the settings. I love the 35 second heat up and auto shut off, this makes it's cool down very quickly too. I also really like the outer texture, but overall I'm not a fan of this flat iron. I am leaving this review as a participant of a try it and review it website. I want to start off by saying I have super long, thick and curly hair. I have been straightening it since I was 14 so a fantastic hair straightener is a must for me. This hair straightener feels lightweight and has a great long cord. I love that. I didn't like the button placement because it is where you would typical hold the handle of the straightener and I kept changing the button or adjusting the heat while holding it on my hair so I had to put my hand slightly higher up towards the plates and it did get a bit warm on my hand after a few moments. I like how each button has a heat preset. I did the curly hair setting first which is preset at 350°. You can also adjust the temperature to go higher if you press that button repeatedly. The comb attachments are a really cool feature. I brushed my hair before straightening so my hair was quite large and fluffy from that and the comb did seem to rip out a bit of hair. It was slightly painful but nothing that I couldn't handle. I thought it would be a good idea to review one half of my hair with the new conair straightener and the other half with my Chi. I have had my Chi since 2012. It gets used ALOT. Normally it takes me about 35 minutes to straightener my whole head with my Chi when it is set on 410°. I set the Conair on 400° and it took about 30 minutes to do just the one side. The conair also did not eliminate the frizz as much as the Chi did. Now, with that being said. I think that this straightener would be a great product for somebody with normal hair. Somebody who doesn't have super thick hair like myself. I have two daughters with straight hair that I will use this on to get pony tail bumps out of their hair or use to make their hair extra straight for days they wear it down. I love the concept of this straightener. Just had a few things I didn't prefer. All in all, it deserves a 4 because I know my hair is hard to deal with and it is still a nice product for the price. My is my absolute favorite straightener. And I have quite a few (don't judge me 😫 ) and 3 of them have been a chi. I actually got my first one when I was in hair school and it was a pretty basic iron (back then they didnt have the same technology as they have today) and from there I upgraded. They have lasted me FOREVER! This new one came with a warantee and everything which when something is guarenteed I appreciate that as a customer. I'm much more likely to spend a good amount of money if it's a product that the company is so confident in that they can back it up. Anyway it has all the features you would look for in a styling tool. Safety, temp control, shut off feature, you can put it on a stand so it's safe to set down, it came with a cute little case for either travel or as a dust protector. I'm not sure if they all did, but this one that I purchased off the website did. And there are different discounts for people in school or sale or coupons for new or returning customers. I have pretty thick, somewhat wavy hair. Even though my hair isn't very wavy it's very difficult to actually straighten. The most id ever spent on a straightener before this was $20, and you could tell. I'd go over and over my hair with my revlon trying to get it flat and not to mention the plastic catching on my hair and ripping it But this has changed my life in just the 24 hours I've had it!! I am totally impressed by this flat iron. I have always loved CHI straighteners but this is a whole new level of amazing. I have long thick wavy hair and I set the heat to 360 degrees since I read 400 or above can really damage your hair. It heated up to 360 in about 30 sec and was ready to use. The plates are smoother than my other CHI and just glide through my hair. I was done in about 2-3 minutes and my hair has never looked so shiny!! I've always used heat protection spray but the shine was all from this straightener. My hair feels so soft and healthy. I also love the auto shut off feature and it's the main reason I bought this one in the first place because I forget if I unplugged my straightener or not. Only downside to this is the plug doesn't have surge protection on it, so don't straighten your hair while barefoot on a wet floor or around water. Thankfully my husband installed outlets in our bathroom that have the surge protection buttons on them. Just something to be aware of. Otherwise, this hair tool is a no brainer. I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. I was a bit skeptical purchasing this because of the price.. Most cheap flat irons don't work at all! But with the rating and positive reviews I figured why not, its not like I'm investing that much money into it.. And after using it one time I am VERY HAPPY that I purchased this flat iron!! It works great and even tho it got a bit to hot it works great for my hair! Not Purple as shown, Product description (photo) is incorrect. I bought this in the past, but they must have changed the straightener but not updated the description. The straightener I received is not purple, but black with purple plates. Same goes for the purple blow dryer by Remington sold here on Walmart (shows purple but is all black with purple accents). I was amazed at how amazing this straighter worked on my hair. I have thick, long, and frizzy hair and I had a 1 inch straightener for a very long time and I thought a bigger plate would speed up the process because of how long and thick it is. AND IT DID! It didn't tug on hairs or anything. You don't even have to clamp it hard for it to get straightened. The only part i was upset about is that the product details said it would come with a mat to put my straightener on and it didn't. Why put it in the product details if it doesn't come with it. Packaging could be better if I'm paying over $200 for a straightener. When I bought my Amika straightener it was was very well packaged in a very nice hard case and came with a protector for it. T3 needs to step up their game in their packaging. Overall though, very good straightener for my hair.Can I please get my mat?

I have had my unit for three years. I have long coarse frizzy hair. This flat iron has reduced my straightening time to about 12 minutes. I use the second to lowest temp setting on small sections of dry hair. I get beautiful waves by twisting the flat iron and pulling down through the hair with an even amount of tension. Here in Miami the humidity is high but after I straighten my hair, it doesn't frizz. I don't use any straightening products before using the flat iron. Just clean, very dry hair and the second to lowest temperature setting (420 degrees F). The cord is long and swivels to prevent tangles. The flat iron plates are very smooth, shiny metal without any coating. My hair glides very easily through the iron. It is an excellent product.Rose
I really like this flat iron, but I should have gotten the one that's a little heavier. This one is quite lightweight, which you would think would be a good feature as it's easier to hold. I have had this flat iron for 4 months now, and I love it. My hair is frizzy, thick, naturally wavy, and I like to wear it board straight. I do not have the titanium one yet to compare the two but I am interested in trying it as this one does an amazing job and it was the cheaper of the two. It leaves my hair super shiny, smooth, frizz free, and does not damage my hair at all, though my hair has no color in it so not sure how it would handle in that case. The handle does get somewhat hot as previous reviewers have stated but not to the point where I cannot use it. I have curly hair combination type of 2b and 2c. It’s fairly easy to use and works best when you part your hair by pieces. It doesn’t give you the same straight hair you would achieve with a regular hair straightener but it did eliminate majority of my frizz after blow drying it. I did have to touch it up with my straightener afterwards a bit mostly on my ends. It was faster than using my straightener. It took me an overall of 8 minutes to straighten my hair and mine is mediums length and usually takes 15-20 with my straightener. The reason I’ll be keeping it is because I sometimes add curls to my hair and it just made it easier to style after running the thermal brush first. Love this brush so much! I have long, wavy hair with some frizz. (I have loose curls when my hair is shorter.) This replaces my flat iron completely. I section my hair and run the brush along the underside of each section so that the hot plate contacts the hair. It straightens, reduces the frizz, but doesn’t flatten the body out of my hair. And it’s so much faster to use that it’s now part of my regular morning routine before a day of online meetings. So good, I bought a backup just in case! I have 2C/3A pattern naturally curly hair that I could never really achieve a smooth, sleek look on with a flat iron. It was always either dull looking or had a stubborn bend to it that refused to come out. The only way I'd been able to achieve straight, glossy hair was with a round ceramic brush, a blowdryer + concentrator attachment, and an hour of my time, painstakingly going over and over tiny sections. It heats up super-quickly, is adjustable in increments of 10 degrees until 430 degrees max (I think) and the heat is radiated into the bristles, which means you can achieve sleek, polished results on larger sections of hair. I can do my whole head in 13 sections, with about 3-4 passes per section, and I can do my whole head in about 20 minutes. I pre=treat my hair with Alterna Caviar CC Cream for protection, and I usually air-dry unless I'm in a hurry. I like for my hair to be ever-so-slightly damp when I use this straightening brush, because the steam results in major shine. For finishing product, I like Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade to block out humidity and keep frizz at bay. Keeping this brush clean is a little tricky, but what works for me is a little refillable spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol and the large brush from the Camelbak bottle brush set. The bottle brush bristles are long enough to reach between the bristles of your straightening brush and dislodge any crud. I then carefully rinse the bristles under hot water (unplugged, of course!) making sure to direct the water away from the housing of the brush, and let it air dry positioned such that water doesn't enter the brush. Amika doesn't really give you instructions how to maintain this brush, but this is what works for me, and I hope you've found it useful!sabrina.v

I was ready for a new flat iron after I fried mine traveling so first off Id like to say this works for multiple voltage and amps… Yay for all us travelers that don't want to fry our expensive products! I am thrilled with the adjustable heat settings, the auto shutoff and how darn fast it heats up. I have alot of hair and it has a slight wave if it dries naturally and this iron does a beautiful job on my hair. The iron is fast, single pass, does not damage my hair, and is so nice and easy to maneuver. I like the extra length of the iron, it actually makes it easier to work with. I've seen a couple of reviews out here warning about fakes, I bought this one from Amazon.com and it said shipped and sold from Amazon. When I took it out of the box it had the GFCI and the warnings engraved in the plastic, had several warnings on the plug and the normal sticker on the cord. My wife has been using and says it works like the last one. I would say then that the ones straight from Amazon or at least this one is the real deal. I posted a couple of pictures as I'm no expert and you can decide. I was just worried paying $90 for an iron with the possibility of it not being real. Luckily it was what it was advertised as. I absolutely loved this flat iron!!! It works so well on curly hair. BUT I recently traveled to Australia & took the iron with me. Total mistake. My expensive flat iron broke & I was no longer able to 1 regulate the temperature (my hair was fried) or 2 turn it off. I thought it may be the power converter so I stopped using it over there. Once I came back to the states it was the same thing. Heats to the hottest setting and would not turn off. Needless to say it went into the garbage. But I am on my way to ulta to get a new one. I’ve been using the same straightener for 7 years so I am very excited to add this to my hair routine. I have thick hair with a lot of frizz so straightening normally takes me a long time to achieve my desired result. I have literally been able to clamp this straightener to a section of my hair and it be sleek and smooth with one pass through my hair. Normally, it takes me 3-4 times. It heats up fast but will not burn your hands. I love the matte texture as it will not slip out of your hands. It has a small LCD screen that displays green when ready for use at the temperature you choose. The only thing I have noticed is it does leave my hair smelling a bit like plastic. I was really excited to get this one and a half inch ceramic salon quality flat iron . It is ultra sleek and boy does it perform ! This heats up in 30 seconds ! You can control the temperature by pushing the temperature button up or down . I really like that the instructions give you an idea of what temperature to use for different thicknesses of hair . This has a swivel cord on it so there is no tangling of the cord . One of the features I like the most is that if you forget to turn this off , it automatically turns itself off in two hours . I have medium thickness hair and this smooth my hair quickly and effortlessly . My hair stayed smooth and frizz free all day long . So far, I like it quite a lot. The 1-inch is perfect for me. It straightens my hair well, but it also makes just the right sized curls. Because my hair is pretty thin, I use anywhere from 250-320 degrees only. I can only attest to those temperature settings on my hair in this review for this flat iron. The things I loved most about this flat iron is that it doubles as a curling iron, it’s dual-voltage and great for taking traveling internationally, and it heats up really fast. My hair is naturally curly, so curling my hair is not a top priority. However, once in a while, I don’t like the off-curls and just need a touch up, but hate pulling out the extra curling iron from the drawer because it clutters my counter space. After trying this as a curling iron, I couldn’t believe how good the curl looked. It definitely is a great flat iron on versatility – not just straightening hair, but for curling as well! The dual voltage is great for traveling too. Every hair electronics I own has to be able to go to another country with me, and this is great that it’s dual voltage. I feel like ALL hair irons should be dual voltage, but that’s just not the case, and that’s why I like that this one has that. Lastly, it really does heat up really quickly. When I first turned it on and did 200 degrees, it heated up in like 5 seconds. As I tried out the different temperatures and found my hair’s sweet spot is between 250-320 degrees, it only takes 30 seconds to heat up. Although this isn’t a quality I would normally gush over, it sure has it’s convenience because I never have to wait! The things I don’t really like about this, however, is just one thing, but worth talking about: there’s no locking it shut. I would like to see that option on another model for sure. I understand that keeping it open when not in use helps to cool down the plates, but really, I’d like to be able to lock it shut so that storing away is just neater and not getting in the way no matter if I’m hanging it or placing it in a drawer or even keeping it on the counter. So far, this is a really good straightener. I do like that the cable swivels and isn’t stationary, making it easier when handling. And I do like the way it feels when I’m holding it my hands. Even the buttons are easy to access and doesn’t get in the way. The green and blue LED lights are easy to read and easy to understand. Plus the ceramic plates keep a steady, even temperature, and is quite smooth (but not tourmaline smooth) to glide through the hair. These are all amongst some of the things I like about it. Although it doesn’t lock shut and it’s isn’t a great complaint nor very important at all, it’s still a criteria I look for very much when picking a straightener. However, a straightener that doubles as a curling iron is definitely the highlight of it and I’m willing to overlook the one thing it lacks. It’s just a really good flat iron on versatility. My flat irons cut off while I’m doin hair, since the first try. Randomly power off, and I don’t think I’m getting g even heat distribution from the plates.when I curl the hair , some pieces are straight and sleek, but some pieces look untouched. I usually only ever buy the cheap straighteners and they get the job done but the results were never as good as I get from the salon and their high-quality tools. Well, the Miss Priss gives me the lasting results I want. It’s a beautiful color, comfortable to use, I love the temp display and range of temp options. The cord is plenty long enough. And I’m able to quickly and easily straighten or curl my hair usually in the first past. My only complaint is that the controls are on the inside of the handle instead of in an easier to access location on the outside or side of the handle.Roseanne M.
I had an original Chi straightener that finally died after 20+ years. I have hated the thought of replacing it but new I would eventually have too! I immediately went for the Miss Priss!
