I’ve had this for probably 10 years and it just broke this week. Safe to say it lasts! I try not to use heat on my hair more than once a week but I love the CHI. I use it to curl and straighten and it works great. Love that I can set my heat to whatever I want. I do find it sometimes pulls my hair but I’m sure all products do to a degree. I have curly 3A hair, and I recently cut my hair short. We all know that when you cut curly hair short, it curls up even more. Whenever I’d straighten my hair with my old flat iron, it wouldn’t stay straight all day. However, with this Ion flat iron, my hair stayed pin straight for 4 days! (until I washed it) I really believe that it has to do with the titanium plates. I’ve always used tourmaline/ceramic plates, so I wanted to see what the difference looked like. I live in California, so humidity isn’t an issue and I used it at 350 degrees. I love this tool! I would definitely recommend to purchase this!Sabrina

I had an older version of this hair styler that lasted several years. When it finally was time to retire it I bought this one thinking it would be the same just updated. It did not work as well to straighten my 3a curly hair and after only one year of use, the on/off button has been faulty and then completely stopped working. I will be replacing.Andrea

I absolutely love my new flat iron that also allows for the ease of doing my hair while it’s wet. What a time saver it has been for me going to Nursing school & Work! The quality is excellent. It has air holes allowing it to vent and express steam and dry your hair while it is wet or damp. I set it at 300 temperature and it takes 10 seconds to heat up so it’s ready to start straightening right away. However it does take a bit for it to cool down. The iron is a great size for those of us that small irons aren’t enough. You can take a whole big section and it flattens easily and looks great. So bigger sections also allow for getting done a lot quicker. No need to take small sections to get a great look. I love the 360 swivel of the cord that keeps it from getting tangled so easily and creating a short life for the iron. You can use both hands without constantly trying to move the cord out of the way. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great innovative flat iron that’s efficient, great design and creates great styles. My hair is very fine and tends to frizz at the mention of the word humidity! I love straightening my hair, but I don't like that I have to dry it first or having to leave it air dry and straighten it the next day. This Wet2Style 1 3/4 Flat Iron is my new best friend. I can straighten my freshly shampooed hair after a simple towel dry instead of spending the extra time blow drying it with the hair dryer. I was a bit skeptical at first, because I have admittedly used my traditional flat iron on my damp hair (I know, a traditional styler is DAMAGING to wet hair!) and it just did not give me the sleek results I was looking for. I've been straightening my hair for years, and have never been able to get it to look the way I wanted. I have super thick, curly, and dry hair which can be hard to style and keep straight as well. Okay, I have been a Chi user for over 10 years! I have always stuck with the Chi brand, and despite my friends and co-workers telling me to try the Babyliss, I purchased this Chi. I have NEVER EVER been so disappointed in my life! The titanium plates were not touching, they were scratched, the straightener felt so cheap, AND IT SNAGS AND PULLS YOUR HAIR! Okay, so I have been exclusively using flat irons for 15 years and this is the best one I have used to date. My hair is fine but thick and I need something that will style it quickly (or in a reasonable time frame), which is why I gravitate towards titanium plates. This flat iron gets the job done. I do not have to put it on the highest setting (which is a first) for it to straighten my hair in one pass. It leaves my hair silky smooth, shiny and the style lasts perfectly all day long. To tell you more about the product, I will list the pros and cons below: Pros: -Temperature is adjustable by 10 degree increments (numerous heat setting options). -Device remembers what heat setting you used from last time upon turning on. -Temperature gauges and power button are in an area that will not accidentally be pressed. -Titanium plates heat up very quickly and are like butter and do not pull at the ends of my hair. -I have not noticed breakage with this product. -1 hour shut off and dual voltage ability (DO NOT USE A CONVERTER). -Product is built very sturdy and the rounded tips make it great for creating curls/waves. -The heat is controlled at the end of the device by the plates and does not travel up to the handle. Cons: -If you do not hold your hair while you straighten it, you may experience some minor tugging (this does not happen often for me, just if I am not paying attention). -The end of the iron can get quite not (not the worst I've experienced, but keep this in mind for making curls/waves). I do just want to add that out of all the research I did before purchasing a new flat iron is that CHI seems to be very reputable. I did not come across a single review that mentioned their product breaking before the warranty period of 2 years. I have had this flat iron for 4 months now, and I love it. My hair is frizzy, thick, naturally wavy, and I like to wear it board straight. I do not have the titanium one yet to compare the two but I am interested in trying it as this one does an amazing job and it was the cheaper of the two. It leaves my hair super shiny, smooth, frizz free, and does not damage my hair at all, though my hair has no color in it so not sure how it would handle in that case. The handle does get somewhat hot as previous reviewers have stated but not to the point where I cannot use it. I have no problem with the opening size either, as I part my hair and straighten sections at a time. Definitely was a good buy, especially for the price paid.Jeanine

The fastest heat-up time I have ever seen on a flat iron!! If you're new to a flat iron I suggest you definitely begin with a lower heat setting, then once youve mastered the learning curve gradually increase the heat. I have very crazy, poofy medium – thick unruly curly hair; the type that you pick at and it fros up. I bought it back in 2013 and it still works great (it's now 2016). Even distribution of heat, does not damage my hair and IT DOES GET MY HAIR NICE AND STRAIGHT. It's slim and has a nice curve to it so curling is very much possible with this iron. So i like to think it's a multi iron not only a flat iron. You have a 1 degree to 450 degree possible heat setting lol. It's a rotator button so you get to choose or estimate around where you want your heat to be. It's not a one time pass over your hair like it's expensive comrads like the titanium or more pricier ceramics in the $100's so you have to pass over your hair a few times to get it straight, but when you do, your hair is left soft and with sheen. ( though, I do wonder if it's because of my heat protectent + touch of oil I use that does that. I never EVER flat ironed my hair with out either or so I'm not sure if its the products or iron or BOTH lol…BUT!) this iron is on your side. Over time though it has picked up the habit of snagging at my hair but, it's a three year old flat iron veteran, it was bound to start getting old on me. This is NOT an iron you should use to go from wet hair to straight hair. You need to have dry hair, whether through blow drying or air drying because that will damage your hair, no matter what kind of iron you use. I don't believe in wet to dry with flat irons for CURLY NATURAL hair. Maybe for easier hair textures but not natural / real thick curly hair. Over all, for the price, this iron is GREAT. When the straightener worked, I loved it. It left my hair very straight and shiny. However, after using it only 3 times, I plugged it in and although the light was on, it would not heat up at all. I am very impressed with this hair straighteners capabilities. I have long, frizzy, very thick hair and this straightener really does the job like no other I have owned in the past. Using this one I am able to straighten my hair in under fifteen minutes because of the large sections I can do at a time. I like that all the buttons are placed on the side and I’m not accidentally turning it off while using it. It heats up very quickly, (10 seconds to high), and it heats up evenly. The ten different temperature settings are easily seen with the LCD display and also easy to change. The wide range of heat settings makes it a great straightener for many different hair types. This flat iron is amazing. It is very lightweight so it’s easy to take anywhere with you. It heats up quickly and is easy to use. As a 3c natural hair girl, I am always looking for fun products to straighten my hair and give it some curls that aren't as tight as my natural ones. I was very excited to try this out when I saw it included a round brush. First of all, the space between the two plates isn't very wide, and I am used to it being wide as it is on my other flat irons. That threw me off a little bit. Second, there is nothing that allows you to change the heat setting and because my hair is course, it requires a little more heat to get it straight. With this iron, I was only able to get a sort of puffy straight hair with some frizzy curls. I really liked the easy to use round brush though. I usually don't use one myself when I'm doing my hair, but this one went through easily. I did have a little bit of trouble with making a curl with the brush part at first, but I eventually got it. Also, it takes a little while to heat up. I think this is a good product, maybe just not for my hair type. I would recommend it to friends that have looser hair types. When I received this tool I was a little skeptical with the 4 in 1 feature but after daily use, I will say that I prefer this one to the Amika Strand Perfect Ceramic Styler that I received in my FabFitFun box and now I use the Instyler Max daily. I like to wash my hair every other day and what I really like about the Instyler is that it really does add volume when you place it under your hair close to the roots like the instructions say. It's great for me because My hair loses its volume easily. I also really like the lights that turn on, and how quickly it heats up. I have used this as a strighener and as a volumizer. I have not tired to curl my hair as I usually wear it straight. It straightens quickly and it keeps my hair feeling smooth and soft. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that because it's not very thin, it's hard to straighten the baby hairs around my face and that's very important to me. I have been trying to find a fit for my hair needs, with the right hot iron hair tool for years. I'm so happy I have found what I have been looking for. The Instyler max has cut the time it takes to do my hair in half. I can straighten, curl and give my thin hair the extra volume I have been seaching for endlessly. This Revlon Essentials Fast Results Ceramic 1.5 inch Flat Iron heats up fast. I like the wide 1 1/2 inch coated ceramic plates. Hair glides smoothly through the flat iron. My hair is just above the shoulder and is frizzy and wavy, not curly. I was able to get a smooth look. My other flat iron has 1 inch plates but this one is quicker to use. The biggest con for this flat iron is that the heat dial is hard to read and its numbered 1 to 30 in 5 increments. I wish it had temperatures not numbers and a digital temperature display. The instructions do not tell you what the temperature of each number represents. I assume 400 degrees is 30, but I like to flat iron at 340, so I am not sure where to set the dial. I burned my finger upon initial use as I was trying to read the tiny numbers on the dial. The flat iron heated so quickly that before I knew it my finger hit the side of the ceramic plate as I was trying to see the dial. The on off switch is easy to use and illuminates a red light when on. This flat iron turns off automatically after an hour, which is nice in case you forget. I do which it locked closed when off. A fair rating would be 3.5 stars. The flat iron works, its not fancy, I like the wide plates, for the price its ok, but I prefer knowing the exact temperature I am heating my hair at while flat ironing.gk5040

Pros:The Revlon Essentials Fast Results Ceramic 1.5 inch flat iron in black heats up fast like the product claims state on the package. The on/off switch and heat setting dial are tucked away so that your fingers don't accidentally bump into the controls like with some flat irons.A red light indicator lets you know that there is power to it and it's working. The ceramic plates did an okay job at straightening my naturally curly hair but I did have to make a couple of passes on some sections. Cons: Not sure if the auto shut off works. So I just used the off switch and manually turned it off that way. Flat iron doesn't have a digital read out display on what temperature you have it set at. If you have really dry hair like I do that's dyed,you want to make sure you have it set at the right temperature to prevent more damage.This flat iron doesn't come with a zip up storage case like other flat irons do or a heat protector glove for your other hand so if you do choose to buy this be careful. I am really impressed with this straightening comb. The design allows you to get pretty close to the root while keeping the heat away from your skin. The hair guides glide smoothly through the hair. I found this much easier to use than a flat iron and more effective than the heated brush. I love it! I have very thick curly hair. It usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to straighten it with a standard straight iron and this tool cut the time in half. Im usually fighting with a comb and having to lay the straightener down while I pick up the comb to comb it. Its a battle. This product solved my problem. The only drawback is my bangs are very short and it doesnt work with short hair. Will have to use old straightener till they grow out then into the recycling bin with the old. I bought this straightener because I recently had to chop most of my hair off and my curling iron is too big now and my straightening brush is too chunky to effectively straighten my hair. I dont expect to use this for straightening for too long, since my intention is to grow my hair back out. So I thought this would be a good fit, because even once my hair grows out, I hopefully will still be able to use it for curls! It works great for my intention, straightening well and curling my hair ADORABLY. I did take off a star for three complaints: I can feel it tug at my hair sometimes. Even though I comb my hair directly before straightening or curling my hair. It isnt terrible, and it definitely doesn't hurt, but it is is bothersome. The plates wiggle a bit (which may be the cause of my first complaint) and sometimes end up misaligned ever so slightly, making it feel like my hair section isnt properly styled. And finally, this is absolutely a personal preference and nothing that the straightener could change… I hate how straighteners straighten. I love the smoothness and the shine, but it takes out all of the oomf. I prefer Bed Heads straightening brush for straightening, because I get the shine and smoothing without losing the bounce of my hair. So TLDR; this straightener is GREAT for curling short hair. It is light and easy to use. It does tug a tiny bit, but not in a problematic way. It does a fine job straightening, but I'd prefer a small sized straightening brush if one existed.Kelly

I bought it mainly so I could get tighter curls but also to fix those stubborn smaller sections and cowlicks. It does exactly what I wanted! Heats super fast (literally takes seconds), which is perfect because I'm super busy. You do have to separate hair into small sections for it to come out good. So I have medium length hair. Curly and freeze. I bought this straightener to help me straighten my roots because my regular straightener is too big to make my hair straight. Well this straightener is able to go in all the way from the root without burning my scalp. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the temperature wasn't too hot. Took a few days of thinking “you get what you pay for” and how I had plans to spend more… ended up buying this one and after one use I was impressed. I've had thia straightener for years. Dropped it on the ground, twisted up the cord, let people borrow it and traveled with it. This thing feels indestructible and still works great even with my curly kinky hair. I highly suggested this to anybody that can be rough on their equipment. I've used this hair straightener for about 10 years it is by far my favorite hair tool to use to straighten and curl my hair. I was ready for a new flat iron after I fried mine traveling so first off Id like to say this works for multiple voltage and amps… Yay for all us travelers that don't want to fry our expensive products! I've seen a couple of reviews out here warning about fakes, I bought this one from Amazon.com and it said shipped and sold from Amazon. When I took it out of the box it had the GFCI and the warnings engraved in the plastic, had several warnings on the plug and the normal sticker on the cord. My wife has been using and says it works like the last one. I would say then that the ones straight from Amazon or at least this one is the real deal. I posted a couple of pictures as I'm no expert and you can decide. I was just worried paying $90 for an iron with the possibility of it not being real. Luckily it was what it was advertised as. I absolutely loved this flat iron!!! It works so well on curly hair. BUT I recently traveled to Australia & took the iron with me. Total mistake. My expensive flat iron broke & I was no longer able to 1 regulate the temperature (my hair was fried) or 2 turn it off. I thought it may be the power converter so I stopped using it over there. Once I came back to the states it was the same thing. Heats to the hottest setting and would not turn off. Needless to say it went into the garbage. But I am on my way to ulta to get a new one. I just won't travel with it.Leah

I'm very happy with the purchase. I had received the recommendation from my hair dresser. It was reasonably priced compared to competitors and I'm very happy with the quality performance. I have thick hair with uneven waves but this iron smooths it easily at 380 degrees and does not seem to damage my hair. The design is very functional tooTrina C.

I know it may be expensive, but I think it’s a very very very good investment. This is one of my holy grail flat iron. Before, I would use the Conair flat iron which is in the cheaper side. However, since I tend to use it almost every other day, the flat iron would just continuously keep breaking down on me. Not lasting me for a year and it doesn’t even feel smooth when I run it through my hair which is one of the down side. And then I decided to try the croc flat iron which was recommended to me by my hairstylist. I had this flat iron for almost 4 years now and still working perfectly fine and new. When you run this through your hair, it goes through very smoothly. It never caught my hair which I love and appreciate so much! Would I recommend this? Most likely yes!katrina.l

Best iron!!!!! I love it. I use it to iron my hair and to get my curls. I dont even need 2 stylers… unless i wanted smaller curls which this cant accomplish i have a small wand. This heats up quickly. The benefits of it besides how nice my hair looks after using is that it shuts off when is not being used, very helpful for those of us who are forgetful… it helps you to be worry free. Goes up to 450 degrees. I have had it for some time now, still going. I would definitely recommend, if you love flat ironing your hair this is such a good product to try. In the box it says its for professional use only not sure why, but truth is i am no professional i use it at home… one thing is true no one does my hair better then i do and this flat iron helps me to achieve my look easily… i usually wash and set and after my rollers i blow it out … then i iron by sections … the finish look is beautiful.#s. yinnette.g

Bought for my 14yr daughter whose Vice open World Champion Latin Dancer. She’s thick long hair. Kind to the hair even on the highest setting. Fab even when curling! Really recommend.Philippa

It's really pretty!! It didn't have any weird scent nor sound and took~30s to heat up with the low and medium settings on (tried 1-5, haven't tried going up to 9-13, abv 200°C yet). The plates touch each other quite uniformly and the buttons are well placed in my opinion. haven't had the problem of accidentally turning it off. I have fine and thin hair, so this does the job pretty well without any fuss and you can curl with it too. the tip doesn't have a cool tip to hold, but it glides through the hair quite smoothly, doesn't tug.Lynnette

I bought this straightener about a half a year ago and it is giving out small electric shocks most of the times I use it. At first I thought it was nothing but it keeps happening. I did use a lot of straighteners from different brands before and never had similar problem. We don't have the receipt as it was bought in a hurry and the receipt got lost. Otherwise it would be a straight return. Not sure if it was just one faulty piece or really cheaply made product in general. Unfortunately, would not recommend buying.LenkaT
