I have found my new GHD white hair straightener to be a great product it straightens my hair leaving it looking glossy, straight and healthy. I have used it also to put waves in my hair following the tutorials on the GHD website, I didn't know that it was possible to create waves and curles with straighteners but because this product has a rounded barrel it worked well for creating waves. My hair is natrually wavey and can be prone to dryness and frizz but I have found that using the staighteners together with hair products tends to help these problems and make me feel more confident that my hair is going to look good throughout the day / evening. It is an added bonus that these new hair straighteners are designed to only use an optimal amount of heat as I do not want to damage my already dry hair by subjecting it to excessive heat. I purchased this GHD Platinum styler that was recommended by my hair stylist & I wish I would have done more research on my own first and read more reviews before spending so much money on this flat iron. I am sadly disappointed in this straighter as you can't adjust the heat setting and the temperature "adjusts to your hair." My hair is very fine, thin and curly and I am not impressed. It does not leave my hair straight compared to a less expensive straightener & sadly the straightener's plates catch my hair and pulls my hair out & gets stuck in the plates. The straightener has damaged my ends and pulls out hair constantly. The plus and cord are long and heavy and clunky. Not to mention, the sound when you turn on the straighter is so loud and you can't mute the sound or sound level. If I could give this product a zero rating, I would. I'll start off by mentioning the size of this straightener. The Dyson Corrale is bigger and heavier than most straighteners which isn't bad just takes some getting used to. It has a magnetic charging dock which is awesome as it securely holds the straightener in place and can be charged in between uses. Instead of laying it flat on the counter (or on the heat resistant travel pouch it comes with) you can just dock it and pick it back up while working on sections of hair. In terms of battery life itself I expected this to hold the charge longer at this price point. A full charge will last you about 3 hours (it lasts me about 2 and a half days of use) before it needs to be charged again. It's marketed as a way to use less heat to achieve straight strands. I have fine thin hair and use this straightener at 365 degrees and have noticed that my hair starts to wave after a few hours. Meaning, If I straighten my hair today – I'll have to straighten it tomorrow again if I want pin straight strands. I feel it does not keep my hair straight as long as my CHI straightener does. I will continue to use this straightener over my CHI since I love all the features and how it looks overall. My only real complaint is the lack of battery life and that it does not hold my hair straight as long as cheaper options do. Unfortunately, the straightener did not live up to the quality of all of the other Dyson products that I own. First, it does not straighten very well at all. If you’re looking to just get the frizz out of your hair, then it will work but it won’t get it truly straight. I should have returned this as soon as I knew but I decided to live with it and liked the fact that it was cordless. However a couple of months later, the lock button completely fell off! I contacted Dyson customer support multiple times simply to get a replacement button. Finally, they said that they would replace the entire unit. However, at that moment in time they didn’t have the purple in stock. I have the purple hairdryer sitting on a purple stand and asked if I could wait until they had it back in stock to which I was told that wasn’t possible I had to choose from one of the other colors that was available. I chose not to do that and have been using the end of a barrette to lock and unlock the straightener that doesn’t straighten. For reference, In addition to the hairdryer and the straightener, we own three Dyson vacuum cleaners and they have always been fantastic not sure what went wrong with this appliance. I was so excited to finally get to try one of the infamous Dyson hair styling tools! The Dyson Corrale is a flat iron that has the option to be used without a cord and is also rechargeable. The Corrale has a maximum temperature of 410 degrees. I have naturally curly 3c/4a hair that's thick and mid length. I washed and blow dried my hair first and then used the Dyson Corrale to finish off my look. Pros: * cordless option – great because you don't have to worry about the cord getting in the way when using and it can be convenient when on the go * leaves hair shiny and sleek – I have black hair which can sometimes look dull if not styled properly and the Dyson gave my finished look sleekness and with a nice sheen * works great on thicker and curly textured hair – sometimes larger brand products aren't geared towards hair types that some ethic groups have but the Dyson worked great on my thick, course hair which is natural with no chemical straighter. * charge is decent – I was able to straighten roughly 90% of my hair off of a full charge which was about 35 minutes. * digital display makes it easy to know the status of your iron's charge levels and temperature * stand and carrying case come with the iron – the stand is very convenient when using the iron to style Cons: * heavier than the average flat iron – while it wasn't an issue for me just know the iron does have some weight to it..likely due to the rechargeable battery…which can take a moment to get used to * charge – while I think the amount of time the Corrale holds its charge when in use, 30 minutes is not a long time for those who have thicker and longer hair. I have been looking around for a straightener because my sultra doesn't do a great job if there is the tiniest bit of humidity in the air. It's done me well, but I have frizzy, curly, fine on the bottom, course on the top red hair that I want to keep looking beautiful. When I say curly I am talking weird 2A on the bottom layer and a 3B on the top layer (get a devacurl stylist they are the best at cutting and determining your curl type). So I always used a chi before my sultra but I gave it away to my cousin when it started to snag. My hair always smelled burnt with both sultra and chi. I tried the chi G2, and don't like it and will be returning (I had to use it on higher heat and still didn't smooth it out like the babybliss). Then I tried the babybliss ultra thin and I liked it initially but the housing gets hot and it felt almost like I couldn't grip it (and I have tiny hands). I got the 1 3/4 and love it! Nice grip and got the free mini iron. The thing that sucks is that it doesn't have dual/universal voltage. I might be getting a separate one just for that. But I love this iron. I can also use it with less heat! 300-340 got my hair PIN STRAIGHT. This might not be for everyone but for the curly gals like me with weird curl types this might just be your savior. I previously had been using a GHD straightener I bought YEARS ago and decided it was time for an upgrade. After doing lots of research and considering my budget, I decided to purchase this BabyLiss Pro Titanium straightener. I liked that it had the adjustable heat settings, which was something that my previous straightener did not. However, I noticed that it didn't really glide through my hair, and occasionally it would pull pieces of my hair, which obvious hurt! Even using it on the lower heat settings, my hair ALWAYS smelled burnt. I just purchased a new straightener from a different company, because I'm NOT A FAN of this one at all. While I'm waiting to receive my new one, I went back to my old GHD straightener. While it takes a little longer to straighten, my hair does NOT smell burnt, in fact, I can still smell my conditioner from last night. And my hair feels noticeably soft and touchable, which it did not with the BabyLiss. I know that with everyone having different texture hair, different people will have different experiences with this straightener. I wanted to love it. And, after buying the legitimately life-changing Dyson hair dryer, I assumed I'd love it. I should have read the reviews first, because I sure was wrong. I've used A LOT of different straighteners in my life, and this was the worst one in a long, long time. It's not all bad…but it was mostly bad. Pros: – The product itself is beautiful and comes with a really nice, soft velvet travel pouch. – There was noticeably less steam coming from the tool as I used it; I assume this was indicative that less heat damage was being caused, since I used the same amount of product I always do – Loved the cordless feature, docking station, and not being stuck near the electrical outlet – Heats up very quickly Cons: – I had more hairs pulled out and broken than with any straightener I've ever used. It was actually alarming. I followed all of Dyson's recommendations – my hair was completely dry, I applied some tension (but not so much that I was just pulling on my hair), and divided my hair into at least 3 sections (in some areas it was 4 or 5). I also passed much smaller sections of those sub-sections through the straightener at any given time. No matter what I did, the straightener did not glide easily and either felt like or was actually pulling my hair. – Definitely heavier than the average straightener, but not so much that your arm will get tired or sore as some other reviews have indicated – The battery life isn't the greatest…but you can always just plug the (very lengthy) cord directly into the device – It didn't outperform other, less expensive straighteners in terms of results. I was amazed at how amazing this straighter worked on my hair. I have thick, long, and frizzy hair and I had a 1 inch straightener for a very long time and I thought a bigger plate would speed up the process because of how long and thick it is. AND IT DID! It didn't tug on hairs or anything. You don't even have to clamp it hard for it to get straightened. The only part i was upset about is that the product details said it would come with a mat to put my straightener on and it didn't. Why put it in the product details if it doesn't come with it. Packaging could be better if I'm paying over $200 for a straightener. When I bought my Amika straightener it was was very well packaged in a very nice hard case and came with a protector for it. T3 needs to step up their game in their packaging. Overall though, very good straightener for my hair.Can I please get my mat?

I have curly 3A hair, and I recently cut my hair short. We all know that when you cut curly hair short, it curls up even more. Whenever I’d straighten my hair with my old flat iron, it wouldn’t stay straight all day. However, with this Ion flat iron, my hair stayed pin straight for 4 days! (until I washed it) I really believe that it has to do with the titanium plates. I’ve always used tourmaline/ceramic plates, so I wanted to see what the difference looked like. This Revlon Essentials Fast Results Ceramic 1.5 inch Flat Iron heats up fast. I like the wide 1 1/2 inch coated ceramic plates. Hair glides smoothly through the flat iron. My hair is just above the shoulder and is frizzy and wavy, not curly. I was able to get a smooth look. My other flat iron has 1 inch plates but this one is quicker to use. The biggest con for this flat iron is that the heat dial is hard to read and its numbered 1 to 30 in 5 increments. I wish it had temperatures not numbers and a digital temperature display. The instructions do not tell you what the temperature of each number represents. I assume 400 degrees is 30, but I like to flat iron at 340, so I am not sure where to set the dial. I burned my finger upon initial use as I was trying to read the tiny numbers on the dial. The flat iron heated so quickly that before I knew it my finger hit the side of the ceramic plate as I was trying to see the dial. The on off switch is easy to use and illuminates a red light when on. This flat iron turns off automatically after an hour, which is nice in case you forget. I do which it locked closed when off. A fair rating would be 3.5 stars. The flat iron works, its not fancy, I like the wide plates, for the price its ok, but I prefer knowing the exact temperature I am heating my hair at while flat ironing.gk5040

Revlon has truly created the perfect Flat Iron with unbelievably fast results! This Flat Iron is packed full of great features! It has a really nice sleek black design and a little light that flashes on the side to let you know when it is heating up. When it is ready to use… the light will quit flashing. Heat up is super fast…like within a minute or so. I can plug my Revlon Flat Iron in and turn it on and by the time I am done drying my hair, it is ready for use. I love the tangle free swivel cord because my makeup table has several cords plugged in around it and my Revlon Flat Iron never gets tangled up like a lot of my other cords do. It has 2" grip plates that eliminate any open gaps and glides gently down my hair while going through the straightening process. The on/off switch and heat setting dial are tucked away so that your fingers don't accidentally bump into the controls like with some flat irons.A red light indicator lets you know that there is power to it and it's working. The ceramic plates did an okay job at straightening my naturally curly hair but I did have to make a couple of passes on some sections. Cons: Not sure if the auto shut off works. I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair. I have only ever used a flat iron before. When I bought this I was actually shopping for a replacement for my awesome, but 16+ year old flat iron. I bought this on whim, because honestly, the price. I even asked the Ulta associate about their return policy because I was sure this tiny thing wouldn't work in my giant, poofy, frizzy hair. I was 98% sure I was returning it. Now, as another reviewer said this will not really straighten you hair if you have A LOT of hair, although it did better than expected, but it would make wavy hair pretty smooth. It's not going to give you flat iron results. It also didn't really turn my ends under the way I like. What it did do, and what I actually bought it for was to straighten a terrible cowlick that I have on one side of my head that kinks up over night no matter how satiny or silky my pillowcase is or how careful I am to not sleep on that side of my head. The first morning that used this I had a particularly tossy-turny night of sleep and my hair was a complete mess. I thought it was going to be a ponytail day. But this little thing straightened out all the kinks and left my hair looking like the day before when it was freshly ironed. I have never had a brush that straightens my hair so this product was something I was very intrigued by and excited to use. The brush is compact which I absolutely love! It does a good job at making my hair frizz free and smooth which I really like. I did have to use it a couple of times on the same strands of hair to get stick straight hair. I was in need of a new straightener a few months back and didn't want to spend too much money, so I got this one since it had notes it was good for fine hair, which I definetly have. The first month, it worked fine. The past couple of months I noticed it got harder and harder to actually fix my hair quickly, because even on the highest heat setting, it would not curl or straighten my hair right. I had to go over pieces multiple times, and even then it would not work properly. I got fed up and replaced it yesterday with the Revlon Perfect Heat 1" straightener. < — BEST ONE EVER. This is an okay hair straightener. If you are looking for a cheap straightener that you only use once in a while this straightener is great! If you have thick hair and are straightening your hair daily you might want to pay more for one that will straighten your hair faster. I was replacing a Chi hair straightener. This straightener is good for the price but not near as nice as a Chi or and Absolute heat hair straightener. But you will pay 4-5 times the price. I guess it depends on which is worth more to you money or time.Jen

I am really impressed with this straightening comb. The design allows you to get pretty close to the root while keeping the heat away from your skin. The hair guides glide smoothly through the hair. I found this much easier to use than a flat iron and more effective than the heated brush. Like every straightener I've ever used, the results don't las as long as you might want, but they did last overnight.rhane01

I love it! I have very thick curly hair. It usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to straighten it with a standard straight iron and this tool cut the time in half. Im usually fighting with a comb and having to lay the straightener down while I pick up the comb to comb it. Its a battle. This product solved my problem. The only drawback is my bangs are very short and it doesnt work with short hair. Will have to use old straightener till they grow out then into the recycling bin with the old. Will be purchasing another for backup just in case. I cant picture life without now.millibyer-0

The straightener heated up quickly and has several heat settings. Start off at a lower temp than you think you will need. It also has an auto-shut off, which is a good feature. The curls that this provides are so pretty and adds so much volume. I like that I do not have to carry multiple hair tools when I travel.Shawn

I bought this because I was looking for an alternative to the multiple layers of heat required by the keratin treatment. Keratin treatment not only requires blow drying before I put the treatment, but because the liquid itself makes the hair feel a bit damp, I would need to dry again a bit more to avoid the horrendous damage that comes with flat ironing damp hair, especially at the keratin-requested temperature of 450 degrees! Yes, I have thick frizzy hair. So i decided to skip the entire blow drying, air-dry it instead, put the treatment and go straight for this wet to dry iron… I fell in love!!! First the steaming holes facilitated the steam-release that the keratin naturally requires. Second, it did not require more pass through than my usual iron on already blow-dried hair. Third the fact that it did not reach 450 degrees did not minimize the results; in fact the results were better than I’ve ever had !!!! It was straighter, suppler and shinier than it ever was with my previous much more expensive high heat flat iron!!! Before my hair would show friz on the second day, even after paying over $100 for a professional to do my keratin treatment! But not this time. My hair felt and looked healthier, in fact someone literally asked me if it was a wig, it looked so good it seemed fake. Also, before there was a white film on my hair after the first treatment, making the hair feel stiff, a bit sticky and dull; but with the Remington, that wasn't the case: it was soft, with movement and shine; 2 dropps ofmy usual combing dry oil and I did not feel the need to wash my hair the day after the treatment; instead, waited aa week and i could have waited longer- it looked fabulous throughout. I’ve been treating my hair for almost 10 years, this is the best post keratin results i have ever experienced, and it is all thanks to the Remington. I believe these steam holes are the best things to happen to a keratin treatment. Love it, love it! As for the technical part: delivery was on time, and i love the fact the blinking light has a specific color to let you know when to use on damp hair, and when to use on dry hair. Make sure you follow the indication; online has a quick, very short and straightforward instruction manual, it is worth the 2 minutes of read. That indicator became helpful when i wanted to do a touch up.I’m actually going to also buy the larger one; I’m never buying another iron, THIS IS IT.featherdust

I searched for years to find a great affordable straightener for my thick, curly, unruly hair! This by far has been the best I've gotten my hands on so far. I love that you can use on damp hair as well as dry hair. Sometimes you need some extra products and they do dampen your hair so being able to use this and feeling like I wasn't doing too much damage. Plus extra bonus…the plates aren't extended so far that you burn your scalp, ouch! With this tool I'm able to get close enough without burning myself. Absolutely love it and definitely do recommend if you're looking to tame your hair. Perfect for beginners as it has a heat setting dial as well.amanda.b

Best flat iron ever!! I've had a few through the years. I didn't think one brand could really be different from another, but I was wrong! This "wet to dry" one really takes any residual moisture out of your hair and keeps it from frizzing or curling up after using. NOTE….I do not use it on wet hair…..I do use a hair dryer to dry it, and it's usually frizzy, curly and wild after I do. However, this Remington works a nice smooth, flat miracle on it. The plates come together nicely, no gaps. Closing and using the flat iron is very easy on my arthritic hands. Very happy!Walmaven18

I have the Ion Fusion 2.0. It is the worst straightener I've ever owned. I have thick, loosely wavy hair and even on full heat, 450 degrees, it still takes 4+ passes to get a small section remotely straight. I don't believe it actually gets up to 450. It also pulls my hair so badly, every third pass or so I have to stop and pull out hairs that are stuck in the plates – you can see in the picture how much hair I lost during one straightening session. It gets stuck midway through my hair even though I use a good heat spray AND I brush my hair thoroughly before straightening, plus again each section right before straightening. You can get better quality at the drugstore. I will never buy PYT hair products again and I'll be replacing this one ASAP.andrea.z

I love this straightener. I've been using it for more than 4 years. It doesn't burn my hair. Once I straighten my hair I don't have to touch up until I have washed my hair. It doesn't give me crazy fly aways.i also use it to curl my hair and my curls last minimum of 3 days. It's expensive but worth it. Heats up very quickly.preet.s

I purchased after my last Chi straightener decided to die on me. After 10 years! Impressed? Me too. lol so obviously i had to choose another Chi! this one had wonderful reviews and was in my price range. after i got this… omg. i'm in love. i've never had a straightener able to curl my hair and HOLD all day. it only has one setting so you cannot raise or lower temperature however i'm grateful for that after years of OVER heating my hair. In short? just get it/ it's pretty and it gets the job done for a great price.Katelyn
