Straight from the box, this straightener has a soft high-quality feel and sleek look. It’s really nice to hold due to whatever material it’s made out of. It’s light and the cord swivels, allowing for a range of motion, so for those of you who want to use it to create waves or curls, it’s really convenient. The straightener also has an auto-shut off feature, which is exactly what I needed because I always worry that I forgot to turn my straightener off. Oddly enough, due to the auto-shut off, this straightener has alleviated a lot of stress for me. Lastly, regarding design, it comes with a heat-proof nozzle, which is such a nice feature when you have a small countertop like I do and tend to burn yourself after you’ve finished straightening your hair. As for straightening, this works wonderfully. I have fine wavy hair that tends to frizz at the tips and curl. It takes me fifteen minutes to straighten my hair, but this straightener made my hair look shinier and straighter without any kinks. It definitely works as intended and it’s just such a really lovely product.
For this straightener to cost as much as it does, you’d think it would work properly. I have naturally curly hair which can take about 30 minutes to straighten. This thing shuts off at least 5 times while I’m using it. You don’t realize it until you’ve gone over one piece of hair 6 times because it doesn’t seem to want to straighten. It is so cute and feels so fancy! It comes in a sturdy box that you could reuse and just looks so well presented. Anyways on to the actual product…\n\nThis iron feels so nice in your hand. I have small hands and i think it is the perfect size. Better yet it is coated in such a soft rubbery type material on the surface which makes it easy to grip and less likely to slip. As someone who easily burns herself on irons by having them slip this is a huge plus for me. At first I was confused where the digital display would be (before I turned it on) but once I did and saw it light up in the pretty rose gold part at the bottom I was very excited. That makes it seem very high end and fancy. Another really great design is the power button- it is on the inside of the straightening iron. How many times have I accidentally turned the power off or the heat up or down? Too many! This totally solves that issue because you can accidentally push a button on the inside. You control the heat and power with that one button and it’s very easy to understand and do. \n\nAnother thing about the design of this iron is the very cool heat resistant cover that comes with it. I haven’t seen this in any other iron and I’m very impressed with it. For storage, traveling, and every day use a cover is beyond helpful to avoid burns. You might have unplugged the iron, but can you really remember when you think about it at work and worry about your house burning down? This relieves that headache. Not a huge deal, just wet your fingers and smooth it down a tad bit. \n\nThe iron works wonders on all types of hair. I tried it on short hair, long hair, corse hair, fine hair, curly hair, freshly washed hair, days old hair, etc. In every case it straightened the hair in one quick pass and looked great. I included some pictures below of two people I tried it on. I used to own a Hot Tools flat iron, but once I received this flat iron for Christmas a few years ago, the Hot Tools one was promptly donated. The best part of this flat iron is how securely it clamps onto my hair. I don't need an iron grip in order to get good tension; the flat iron does it on its own. It also heats up extremely quickly – if I spray heat protectant on my hair and then immediately turn on the flat iron, the heat protectant will not be dry before the flat iron comes to temp. I also love the multiple temperature settings. I have loosely wavy hair that holds heat styling well, and I always have the temperature set to 365° F. My sister has curly hair, so when I'm doing her hair, we either keep the temperature at 365° or increase it one setting (to around 400°) depending on the day. I also love the aesthetics of this flat iron and of Kristin Ess' entire line of tools. The soft touch is nice and grippy, and it's never slipped out of my hand. I've owned this flat iron for years, and even though I don't straighten my hair every day, I've never had an issue with anything rubbing off. This is the first, and probably only, flat iron I would recommend to anyone asking for it.Katie
I used this flat iron about once a week and loved it. The temperature heats very quickly but the downside is that it shuts off after 30 minutes. I have really long thick hair and it takes me about one hour to straighten all of it. So it’s a bit of an inconvenience shutting off after 30 minutes. I was really disappointed that after having it for only a few months, it began malfunctioning, saying “error” on the display and turning off every 10 minutes.
I have the nanoblack 3-in-one flat iron (couldn’t find it in Influenster) the full size, not the mini. It has a 9ft cord that moves with the iron (like if you’re doing curls) it’s not fixed to it, this is helpful if you’re like me have hair past your butt + it helps keep your cord from getting twisted. This iron is beautiful, it has a very soft silky feel to it is super sleek looking. It’s fairly light weight comfortable to hold. My hand wrist don’t get tired half way through doing my hair. It doesn’t have a lock on it to keep it closed but it does come with a cap you can slide over the end which keeps it closed, the instructions sheet says the cap is heat proof but I don’t quite trust that it is so I leave the iron in my sink until it cools down before putting the cap on (which fits quite snugly) hanging it up. As far as heat up time WOW this thing heats up FAST! It took less than 30 seconds for it to get up to temp! The sides are rounded so you can easily do curls without getting crease lines in them, although I haven’t quite mastered the technique of curling with a flat iron yet. One thing I was worried about was that hair would snag but after using it a few times that’s no longer a concern. My hair slides through it like silk. It has ceramic plates which are great for those of us who tend to get static hair after using hot tools (ugh the worst) It has a few different heat settings. I did have to look up how to do that since there’s no dial or specific button for that but it was easy to do. Just keep clicking the power button quickly until it’s the temp you want. When you plug it in you have to hit the power button, it doesn’t just start heating up on its own like other irons I’ve owned in the past. With all that being said I definitely do recommend this iron if you’re in the market for a new one. It came in a really nice heavyweight cardboard box with a magnetic flap, I’m sure most will throw it away but if you’re like me keep the boxes to repurpose or so your tools are more protected during travel this is a good box that won’t be crushed or damaged easily.krystal .d

T3 is a brand I love already. I’ve purchased three blow dryers over the years because I love them that much. I don’t straighten my hair that often for no particular reason but I decided to try the Lucea 1'' Professional Straightening Styling Flat Iron. To be honest, I didn’t like it at first only because I was trying to use it as a curling iron to create waves which was an epic fail. I’m not sure if it’s just above my pay grade or I don’t have the dexterity but it didn’t work nonetheless 😂. I even watched videos on YouTube and it looked so easy 😠. I do like it however as a flat iron. This really has no bells or whistles. It’s a simple, straightforward flat iron. It has nine heat settings and it comes with a chart so you know the perfect temperature for your particular hair type. My hair glides through effortlessly without any snagging or pulling and my hair comes out shiny, smooth but still has body. I don’t like when flat irons make the hair pin straight. It lacks body, depth and fullness and I don’t think it’s a flattering look. This one luckily doesn’t do that. It tames flyaways, frizz and makes the hair look healthier. This uses ceramic, rounded, even-heat plates so it’s less abrasive on the hair and actually promotes hair health. This has an automatic shut off after an hour too. I have a new original CHI analog flat iron, but kind of missed having the option of adjusting the heat level (I got the one that is set at 392) when styling my hair so decided to splurge on a T3 as a back up. I really wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do, but I am really glad I invested in this because it is probably one of the best flat irons I've used in years. It has its particular cons – I would like a lock on the plates to keep them closed when not in use, and I think it does slightly dry out the hair a wee bit more than others, but, it does style better, so! The way the plates are shaped, you can do perfect waves and red carpet curls without needing to manipulate your hair a lot. I was testing this the day I got it, and was able to get beautiful, shiny, bouncy curls by simply rolling the flat iron and twisting right after while the hair was still hot. Oh, and it gets HOT! Like, super HOT! I turned it down a little because even at level 4, I felt a good amount of heat coming off the plates. Surprisingly, you can hold the iron without gloves or a cloth and not burn yourself. It is slightly more drying than my CHI as I previously mentioned, but I think it's a lot more versatile and more adept at creating a wider range of styles, so that is a big plus for me. This brand and product was the first flat iron I owned, after the first one broke several years after, I was gifted another brand that after several years broke as well. I read tons of reviews and did my research and decided this little gem would “hopefully” give me the most bang for my buck. It didn’t disappoint. Chi’s “advanced ceramic plate technology” leaves my hair soft, shiny and straight as stick when I want and with beautiful curls when I want to look glamorous. In the past, creating curls with could be a challenge. Ergonomically it was so much easier for me to maneuver and master straight iron curls. A friend gave me this flat iron and I fell in love with it. It makes my hair pin straight. I dropped the old one she gave me on the floor and it broke. I loved it so much I decided to repurchase it. I had this flat irons for 3 years now. I set it to 450. After clarifying my hair 3 times or 2 times I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo which I use only one time. Then the conditioner lastly the deep conditioner which I set under the dryer for about 20 minutes. I rinse my hair with lukewarm water then a quick 10 sec shot of ice cold water. I t shirt dry my hair let it set to absorb the water, put some leave in conditioner on my hair then some hair heat protector serum. I section my hair blow dry it on low heat. After I flat iron my hair on 450 using the chase method. It takes me 2 hours to flat iron my hair. My hair is 4c, naturally blonde (do not ask me my race or where I am from because I don't know.), my hair is so thick that sometimes I actually lost my comb in my hair plenty of times. And my hair is to my waist If it straighten. But If it is in an afroc state, it's 2 inches pass my shoulders. I will forever keep this flat iron.carolyn.r
I bought this less then a year ago. At first it was amazing! Heated fast glided smoothly through my hair. Made my hair pin straight. And does beautiful curls. But now the coating is chipping off on the edges pretty badly. It isn't gliding as nicely leaving creases. Also it doesn't seem to be getting as hot. I need it hot because my hair is super thick and my daughters hair is even thicker so low heat does nothing. So now im back to looking AGAIN. I bought this flat iron in 2019 and worked great. This is year both top and bottom elements stopped heating and thought it stopped working because it was old. I decided to buy a new one in May 2022 and the bottom element of the flat iron stopped heating up in September, 2022. Im really disappointed and don't recommend buying it if you are looking for a lasting flat iron. Otherwise its great when its working.
I love my Amika flat iron but… I feel like when u pull it down through your hair it’s not that smooth. It get snagged or my hair gets caught. Maybe it’s operator error? Anyway, what I do like is that it heats up fast, you can control the temp (it goes up to 450) and the ends are rounded so u can use it to curl too. This is the flat iron I currently have. Although I don’t straighten my hair as much or hardly ever, anymore, I’m not super impressed by this one. Have you ever used a flat iron that just made your hair feel weird afterwards? It might not make sense, but that’s how I feel with this one. I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. I was a bit skeptical purchasing this because of the price.. Most cheap flat irons don't work at all! But with the rating and positive reviews I figured why not, its not like I'm investing that much money into it.. And after using it one time I am VERY HAPPY that I purchased this flat iron!! It works great and even tho it got a bit to hot it works great for my hair! It doesn't have a light up screen so its a bit difficult to see the temperature if you have bad vision but for this price still not mad lol. Thank you for an affordable hair straightener!! Not Purple as shown, Product description (photo) is incorrect. I bought this in the past, but they must have changed the straightener but not updated the description. The straightener I received is not purple, but black with purple plates. Same goes for the purple blow dryer by Remington sold here on Walmart (shows purple but is all black with purple accents). I was amazed at how amazing this straighter worked on my hair. I have thick, long, and frizzy hair and I had a 1 inch straightener for a very long time and I thought a bigger plate would speed up the process because of how long and thick it is. AND IT DID! It didn't tug on hairs or anything. You don't even have to clamp it hard for it to get straightened. The only part i was upset about is that the product details said it would come with a mat to put my straightener on and it didn't. Why put it in the product details if it doesn't come with it. Packaging could be better if I'm paying over $200 for a straightener. When I bought my Amika straightener it was was very well packaged in a very nice hard case and came with a protector for it. T3 needs to step up their game in their packaging. Overall though, very good straightener for my hair.Can I please get my mat?

I have had this flat iron for 4 months now, and I love it. My hair is frizzy, thick, naturally wavy, and I like to wear it board straight. I do not have the titanium one yet to compare the two but I am interested in trying it as this one does an amazing job and it was the cheaper of the two. It leaves my hair super shiny, smooth, frizz free, and does not damage my hair at all, though my hair has no color in it so not sure how it would handle in that case. The handle does get somewhat hot as previous reviewers have stated but not to the point where I cannot use it. I had an older version of this hair styler that lasted several years. When it finally was time to retire it I bought this one thinking it would be the same just updated. I absolutely love my new flat iron that also allows for the ease of doing my hair while it’s wet. What a time saver it has been for me going to Nursing school & Work! The quality is excellent. It has air holes allowing it to vent and express steam and dry your hair while it is wet or damp. I set it at 300 temperature and it takes 10 seconds to heat up so it’s ready to start straightening right away. However it does take a bit for it to cool down. The iron is a great size for those of us that small irons aren’t enough. You can take a whole big section and it flattens easily and looks great. So bigger sections also allow for getting done a lot quicker. No need to take small sections to get a great look. I love the 360 swivel of the cord that keeps it from getting tangled so easily and creating a short life for the iron. You can use both hands without constantly trying to move the cord out of the way. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great innovative flat iron that’s efficient, great design and creates great styles. My hair is very fine and tends to frizz at the mention of the word humidity! I love straightening my hair, but I don't like that I have to dry it first or having to leave it air dry and straighten it the next day. This Wet2Style 1 3/4 Flat Iron is my new best friend. I have curly 3A hair, and I recently cut my hair short. We all know that when you cut curly hair short, it curls up even more. Whenever I’d straighten my hair with my old flat iron, it wouldn’t stay straight all day. However, with this Ion flat iron, my hair stayed pin straight for 4 days! (until I washed it) I really believe that it has to do with the titanium plates. I’ve always used tourmaline/ceramic plates, so I wanted to see what the difference looked like. I've always used a Remington hair straightener, and after 10 years of my old one finally going out on me; I purchased this. Although it straightens my hair very well; it definitely fried my hair. I've even turned it down to the lowest setting. I have just a little bit of wave in my hair and like to use irons just to make my hair look sleek. I have very wavy hair that goes past my shoulders. While technically my individual hair strands are thin, I have a lot of hair. So straightening my hair takes me a long time and is a bit of a hassle. I always use a heat protecting spray or serum regardless, but I haven't had the greatest luck with flat irons. It takes so long that I get hot from the heat off the iron and my arms get tired. Plus hair would get fully straight, nor would it last. have to say that since using the Remington® T|Studio™ Thermaluxe™ 2” Straightener, those issues are a thing of the past. This is absolutely my favorite straightener of all time. I've spent hundreds of dollars on hair tools, but this flat iron does the job quicker than any of the rest. I have wavy, thick, long, frizzy, and coarse hair (damage from trying to go Beyonce blonde by myself), and it takes several tries to get rid of the kinks with smaller flat irons. But with this one, I can be ready in less than 10 minutes. I also just have to put on some serum before running it through the straightener and it will leave some shine in my hair. I don't like to curl my hair with a straightener so having a wider head that can take more of my hair at once has been absolutely ideal for me. The trick is to divide your hair into the top part and bottom part, go in with the straightener and a comb, bring the flat iron down slowly, and voila. It's straight. You don't have to damage your hair by repeatedly running a hot tool over it to smooth out all the kinks in your hair. I would highly recommend this straightener to everyone. This was the first flat iron I ever got. Thank God I have upgraded to a better one. I couldn't stand dealing with this one. Then again my hair is super curly. I am mixed (black and white) so I have very thick long curly hair. I'm not sure how this straightener would've worked on a different hair type, but I know that I eventually resorted to just using it to straighten my bangs. Effectiveness It worked OKAY. I usually had to straighten the smallest sections of hair in order to get it straightened properly. I also had to straighten over the same small pieces of hair a few times to get it straight. There are different heat settings. I usually set mine to the highest because that's what my hair needed. Make sure you do clean it from time to time because that will effect the iron's ability to straighten the way it should. Durability This flat iron is cheaply made. SO BE CAREFUL WITH IT. It's cheap plastic outside and easily susceptible to cracking. I'm pretty sure one of the ceramic pieces even started to come off the flat iron. You get what you pay for.yalaska
I have always used a curling iron even when the flat iron become the new thing. I already have straight hair but it lacks body and volume. The Conair Ultra Slim looked like a experimental flat iron since it's very affordable. I like the curve to the handle, this feature makes it easy to use and feels comfortable the whole time. I figure a slim flat iron would be a better fit for my hair, it's not thick, but it's not thin either. It took me so long to section off each part if my hair and go over it with this Ultra Slim Flat Iron! I used a flat iron spray to help with the hold, and after it was all said and done my hair looked straight but laid flat on my head. I've learned new techniques since purchasing this flat iron and see where this one can help with getting close enough to the roots to add volume. The settings go up to 25, so there's a range of heat to use, it also heats up fast in under a minute. Since it took me so long to go over my entire head of hair I will now use this one as a touch up flat iron or a back up while I travel. Where do I begin?! It feels amazing in your hand! And the texture keeps it from slipping off your counter! I have set it down many times, and me being the clumsy person I am, would catch my hand on the cord and it never even moved!!! That alone makes it totally worth the price! And the cord is nice and long! Not very heavy in your hand, which is amazing when you have long hair like me! It works very well! The humidity in my area makes my hair curl really easily, but this flat iron kept my hair straight much longer then any other hot tools I have used on my hair! Which was amazing! This flat iron is so amazing. I have frizzy, wavy hair that usually takes a long time to straighten, but this flat iron glides through my hair so easily, not pulling it. This is without a doubt my favorite straightener that falls under an affordable price for the average person. I've used many that were really horrible in the same price range. This one has adjustable temperature and heats up in 30 seconds. It only takes 1 or 2 swipes down the hair to smooth it out so you are not overheating and damaging your hair completely. It leaves your hair shiny and flawless while taking no time at all to actually straighten all of your hair. The automatic safety shut off is an awesome addition to this flat iron as well!holly.k
I can't see myself ever spending $150-$200+ on a flat iron .. Although I was almost to that point. I tried many mid priced irons in the past several months since I got my hair cut to my shoulders.(cut 17 inches off!) I never really styled it when it was so long … It just took too much time. I bought a couple of conair irons to try .. And I wasn't impressed. Something about this one caught my eye and I bought it. I tried it for the first time and was SO annoyed and disappointed .. Because it worked so well – but my hands always pushed the settings buttons when I ironed my hair, and turned off the iron or changed the heat setting. I tried many different ways to hold it.. And finally figured out that the middle part and end of the iron did not get hot. That's the natural place you want to hold the iron when you straighten, but I've been burned before when I did that.. So I automatically always held my irons closer to the cord end of the iron. But the outside of the plates do not get hot – even at 455 degrees. So finally .. I can hold the iron and squeeze the plates where I've always needed to!AJ
As a black woman with natural hair, this is the best flat iron I've ever had. I've had it for 6 years and it shows no signs of stopping. Yes, the buttons are in a bad place, but that is nothing when compared to how great it works to leave my hair frizz-free! I used to have the older model which I loved, it was literally the best straightener ever, kept my hair straight for days ! I decided to buy this newer model since my older one gave up on me. It's a great straightener but my hair does not stay straight for hours .Towards the end of the day my hair isn't completely straight anymore, it gets frizzy and by the next day it's back to wavy . I'm not sure if it's just my bleached damaged hair ?. But other than that it does a great job of heating up fast , not snagging my hair, it doesn't get stuck on the plates , and it straightens my hair in less than 30min.EM
I am really pleased with this flat iron. I have owned both Chi and GHD and now this Paul Mitchell I have had for several weeks now. This Paul Mitchell is my favorite of the three. I had my Chi forever, like no joke 10 years and it finally gave out on me. My friend had a Paul Mitchell flat iron I had used before and really liked it, so decided to go with this one when I needed to buy a new flat iron. I am so glad I did. I have fine, naturally wavy hair. This straightens and smooths like a dream. My hair doesn't snag, it heats up quickly, and wow It really does make my hair so soft and smooth. I am not a fan of straightners but I wanted to give one a shot. After reading reviews, I was sold. oI have only used it one time and I am impressed at how fast it heats up and cools down. Also, the shut-off feature is a lifesaver! My curly hair has stayed straight after 2 days with no touch ups. I try my best to use less heat on my hair. I purchased this in October of 2018. It is the first time I invested money in a decent flat iron and was excited at the purchase. The Pros are that it heats up fast, has a long cord, can be used when traveling overseas. The Cons (there are multiple and the list is growing) is that died, with no warning, last week. They come with a 2 year warranty. Mine died at 2 years, 4 months. Do the math on how much that is per year to have this flat iron. I was never hard on it and I have fine thin hair so it was used MAYBE 5-7 minutes a day. I have been trying for a week to contact someone at GHD about this with no response. No one has responded to my emails and no one answers their help desk. I can't even get information on if it can be repaired. SO. If you are willing to spend the money on a hair straightener, I would point you in another direction, if only to save yourself some money and time. AND yes, my 10 year old inexpensive Revlon flat iron turned on with no problem when I had to reach to the back of the cabinet to use it when this one died.Liz
I brought a set of the gold straighteners as I was starting my new job at a new salon. 4 weeks into the job the on button turned red and a weird noise started to come from the straightners, they wouldn’t heat up so I sent them back to GHD who sent me out a brand new pair. 2 weeks later I take them abroad with me and the exact same thing happened. They are now broken again. I have been in the hairdressing industry for a long time now and have only used ghd products. This same thing happened to my ex colleague and a few others I know. It took over 1 month from buying straighteners to actually receiving them and lots of time spent contacting customer services who were not very helpful. The GHD straighteners I had finally packed in, so I treated myself to a new pair in the Black Friday sale on the GHD website. The straighteners that arrived had clearly been used, they were marked and scratched so I contacted GHD with photos. I understand winter is a busy retail time, however they took a lot longer than I expected to reply and I felt that they didn't understand the issue. They send me a returns label and I posted them, then they said that they were going to repair them under warranty or replace with a refurbished pair, which isn't what you want when purchasing a new pair and receiving a used pair. The process was taking a long time, lot of emails back and fourth. If I had purchased the straighteners in a shop, the return would be much more simple. I was close to just asking for a refund but I wanted the straighteners at the sale price. Eventually, they said they would send out a new pair which arrived 1 month later. It felt like they just didn't care, they're expensive straighteners and I was out of pocket for a month. I would not use use their website again and just buy from a stockist to save the trouble.Ladybird13
