Best I have ever used, after several Ion flat irons. I thought each of them was best when purchased. I bought this to have as backup for when my current Ion was out of commission. I liked it so well, I relegated my current iron to backup and now use this one exclusively. First and primary improvement is that the temp control is located on the inside portion of the iron. On the older one, it was easy to accidentally hit the "off" button (located on the outside of the barrel), cooling the iron. Then had to heat it up again. This Ion heats up quickly and does the job beautifully. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

This is without a doubt my favorite straightener that falls under an affordable price for the average person. I've used many that were really horrible in the same price range. This one has adjustable temperature and heats up in 30 seconds. It only takes 1 or 2 swipes down the hair to smooth it out so you are not overheating and damaging your hair completely. I can't see myself ever spending $150-$200+ on a flat iron .. Although I was almost to that point. I tried many mid priced irons in the past several months since I got my hair cut to my shoulders.(cut 17 inches off!) I never really styled it when it was so long … It just took too much time. And finally figured out that the middle part and end of the iron did not get hot. That's the natural place you want to hold the iron when you straighten, but I've been burned before when I did that.. So I automatically always held my irons closer to the cord end of the iron. But the outside of the plates do not get hot – even at 455 degrees. So finally .. As a black woman with natural hair, this is the best flat iron I've ever had. I've had it for 6 years and it shows no signs of stopping. Yes, the buttons are in a bad place, but that is nothing when compared to how great it works to leave my hair frizz-free! I initially purchased the Hot Tools one that is just like this one only because I didn't see this one when I was shopping online. I ended up ordering this one a week later when I discovered it so I could compare them since I wasn't sure what made them different besides the Hot Tools one being twice the price. I usually only ever buy the cheap straighteners and they get the job done but the results were never as good as I get from the salon and their high-quality tools. Well, the Miss Priss gives me the lasting results I want. It’s a beautiful color, comfortable to use, I love the temp display and range of temp options. The cord is plenty long enough. And I’m able to quickly and easily straighten or curl my hair usually in the first past. Purchased at local drugstore when my old broke (expensive "salon" quality), thought I'd regret and have to buy more expensive one online somewhere, but this is pretty powerful. I also love the classic white color with the light pink plates, much prefer over black. I typically use a flat iron at about 350 or 375 degrees. So having this go up to 400 is awesome. I enjoy taking my time with my hair. So I have no problems moving in shorter sections, especially to get my waves out which I have a lot of. I don't understand the bad reviews. I have had this flat iron for almost 2 years and I think it's time for me to buy a new one. The color is rubbing off and the dial also no longer has numbers. I honestly don't use my flat iron everyday day, maybe 2 – 3 times a week on a pretty low heat and it looks like I've had this for YEARS. This iron is great for curling my naturally straight hair. The outer finish is smooth, so it doesn't create extra tension on hair. The longer plates are so so helpful for curling. It has a long swivel cord, wide range of heat settings, and a good price point. Cons would be that the pretty, rose gold finish has chipped off a lot and the cord feels very cheap. This Revlon Essentials Fast Results Ceramic 1.5 inch Flat Iron heats up fast. I like the wide 1 1/2 inch coated ceramic plates. Hair glides smoothly through the flat iron. My hair is just above the shoulder and is frizzy and wavy, not curly. I was able to get a smooth look. My other flat iron has 1 inch plates but this one is quicker to use. The biggest con for this flat iron is that the heat dial is hard to read and its numbered 1 to 30 in 5 increments. I wish it had temperatures not numbers and a digital temperature display. The instructions do not tell you what the temperature of each number represents. I assume 400 degrees is 30, but I like to flat iron at 340, so I am not sure where to set the dial. I burned my finger upon initial use as I was trying to read the tiny numbers on the dial. The flat iron heated so quickly that before I knew it my finger hit the side of the ceramic plate as I was trying to see the dial. The on off switch is easy to use and illuminates a red light when on. This flat iron turns off automatically after an hour, which is nice in case you forget. I do which it locked closed when off. A fair rating would be 3.5 stars. The flat iron works, its not fancy, I like the wide plates, for the price its ok, but I prefer knowing the exact temperature I am heating my hair at while flat ironing.gk5040
Revlon has truly created the perfect Flat Iron with unbelievably fast results! This Flat Iron is packed full of great features! It has a really nice sleek black design and a little light that flashes on the side to let you know when it is heating up. When it is ready to use… the light will quit flashing. Heat up is super fast…like within a minute or so. I can plug my Revlon Flat Iron in and turn it on and by the time I am done drying my hair, it is ready for use. I love the tangle free swivel cord because my makeup table has several cords plugged in around it and my Revlon Flat Iron never gets tangled up like a lot of my other cords do. It has 2" grip plates that eliminate any open gaps and glides gently down my hair while going through the straightening process. It also has a nice plate-locking switch that helps with space saving and is perfect for my small storage space on my makeup table. It also has an automatic shut off after 1 hour. That is a feature I have never seen on any Flat Iron that I have ever owned before. This Flat Iron heats to 400 degrees so if you have fine hair like mine, make sure you turn the knob in the middle of the Flat Iron to low before you proceed with using it. I was shocked to see how hot it got! If you have thick hair…this is the Flat Iron that you need because it will straiten your thick hair very quickly! Pros:The Revlon Essentials Fast Results Ceramic 1.5 inch flat iron in black heats up fast like the product claims state on the package. The on/off switch and heat setting dial are tucked away so that your fingers don't accidentally bump into the controls like with some flat irons.A red light indicator lets you know that there is power to it and it's working. The ceramic plates did an okay job at straightening my naturally curly hair but I did have to make a couple of passes on some sections. Cons: Not sure if the auto shut off works. So I just used the off switch and manually turned it off that way. Flat iron doesn't have a digital read out display on what temperature you have it set at. If you have really dry hair like I do that's dyed,you want to make sure you have it set at the right temperature to prevent more damage.This flat iron doesn't come with a zip up storage case like other flat irons do or a heat protector glove for your other hand so if you do choose to buy this be careful. I wouldn't recommend this straightener for a beginner because of the basic features. For someone who has experience using hair straighteners it's a basic no frills product.Mommymc

I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair. I have only ever used a flat iron before. When I bought this I was actually shopping for a replacement for my awesome, but 16+ year old flat iron. I bought this on whim, because honestly, the price. I even asked the Ulta associate about their return policy because I was sure this tiny thing wouldn't work in my giant, poofy, frizzy hair. I was 98% sure I was returning it. Now, as another reviewer said this will not really straighten you hair if you have A LOT of hair, although it did better than expected, but it would make wavy hair pretty smooth. It's not going to give you flat iron results. It also didn't really turn my ends under the way I like. What it did do, and what I actually bought it for was to straighten a terrible cowlick that I have on one side of my head that kinks up over night no matter how satiny or silky my pillowcase is or how careful I am to not sleep on that side of my head. The first morning that used this I had a particularly tossy-turny night of sleep and my hair was a complete mess. I thought it was going to be a ponytail day. But this little thing straightened out all the kinks and left my hair looking like the day before when it was freshly ironed. I'm actually really glad I purchased this and I almost wish I'd purchased the full size unit, but this works just fine. Especially for the price point. At the same time that I bought this I bought a pretty pricey flat iron that was a huge disappointment and will be getting returned. I have thick wavy hair and I like to straighten and smooth my hair every day so I usually use a hair straightener every day. I have never had a brush that straightens my hair so this product was something I was very intrigued by and excited to use. The brush is compact which I absolutely love! I love small appliances that don't take up a lot of space, it would be great for people who travel since it's so compact. It's simple to use, you push a button and it heats up quick. It does a good job at making my hair frizz free and smooth which I really like. I did have to use it a couple of times on the same strands of hair to get stick straight hair. I have a lot of hair so if I am in a rush I will just use the mini brush to smooth out the top layers of my hair. The Instyler Mini brush is a versatile product for sure. I had never used a ceramic straightening brush before but this product made me fall in love with it! I also did not know Instyler had ceramic brushes but glad I now have one since I really enjoy Instyler products. I feel like it makes my hair look great no matter what look I am aiming for. I am actually planning on buying the brush for my mom as a gift since she has really frizzy hair and she is looking for something to help tame away the frizz. I know she will like it since we have similar hair. As a 3c natural hair girl, I am always looking for fun products to straighten my hair and give it some curls that aren't as tight as my natural ones. I was very excited to try this out when I saw it included a round brush. First of all, the space between the two plates isn't very wide, and I am used to it being wide as it is on my other flat irons. That threw me off a little bit. Second, there is nothing that allows you to change the heat setting and because my hair is course, it requires a little more heat to get it straight. With this iron, I was only able to get a sort of puffy straight hair with some frizzy curls. I really liked the easy to use round brush though. I usually don't use one myself when I'm doing my hair, but this one went through easily. I did have a little bit of trouble with making a curl with the brush part at first, but I eventually got it. Also, it takes a little while to heat up. I think this is a good product, maybe just not for my hair type. I would recommend it to friends that have looser hair types. When I received this tool I was a little skeptical with the 4 in 1 feature but after daily use, I will say that I prefer this one to the Amika Strand Perfect Ceramic Styler that I received in my FabFitFun box and now I use the Instyler Max daily. I like to wash my hair every other day and what I really like about the Instyler is that it really does add volume when you place it under your hair close to the roots like the instructions say. It's great for me because My hair loses its volume easily. I also really like the lights that turn on, and how quickly it heats up. I have used this as a strighener and as a volumizer. I have not tired to curl my hair as I usually wear it straight. It straightens quickly and it keeps my hair feeling smooth and soft. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that because it's not very thin, it's hard to straighten the baby hairs around my face and that's very important to me. The Instyler max has cut the time it takes to do my hair in half. I can straighten, curl and give my thin hair the extra volume I have been seaching for endlessly. I am really impressed with this straightening comb. The design allows you to get pretty close to the root while keeping the heat away from your skin. The hair guides glide smoothly through the hair. I found this much easier to use than a flat iron and more effective than the heated brush. I love it! I have very thick curly hair. It usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to straighten it with a standard straight iron and this tool cut the time in half. Im usually fighting with a comb and having to lay the straightener down while I pick up the comb to comb it. Its a battle. This product solved my problem. The only drawback is my bangs are very short and it doesnt work with short hair. Will have to use old straightener till they grow out then into the recycling bin with the old. Will be purchasing another for backup just in case. I cant picture life without now.millibyer-0

I have the Ion Fusion 2.0. It is the worst straightener I've ever owned. I have thick, loosely wavy hair and even on full heat, 450 degrees, it still takes 4+ passes to get a small section remotely straight. I don't believe it actually gets up to 450. It also pulls my hair so badly, every third pass or so I have to stop and pull out hairs that are stuck in the plates – you can see in the picture how much hair I lost during one straightening session. It gets stuck midway through my hair even though I use a good heat spray AND I brush my hair thoroughly before straightening, plus again each section right before straightening. You can get better quality at the drugstore. I will never buy PYT hair products again and I'll be replacing this one ASAP.andrea.z

This straightener is the worst I have bought! Returning immediately! You have to go over the same section of hair more than 15 times before it’s actually straighten!
