I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. I was a bit skeptical purchasing this because of the price.. Most cheap flat irons don't work at all! But with the rating and positive reviews I figured why not, its not like I'm investing that much money into it.. And after using it one time I am VERY HAPPY that I purchased this flat iron!! It works great and even tho it got a bit to hot it works great for my hair! Not Purple as shown, Product description (photo) is incorrect. I bought this in the past, but they must have changed the straightener but not updated the description. The straightener I received is not purple, but black with purple plates. Same goes for the purple blow dryer by Remington sold here on Walmart (shows purple but is all black with purple accents). I absolutely love my new flat iron that also allows for the ease of doing my hair while it’s wet. What a time saver it has been for me going to Nursing school & Work! The quality is excellent. It has air holes allowing it to vent and express steam and dry your hair while it is wet or damp. I set it at 300 temperature and it takes 10 seconds to heat up so it’s ready to start straightening right away. However it does take a bit for it to cool down. The iron is a great size for those of us that small irons aren’t enough. You can take a whole big section and it flattens easily and looks great. So bigger sections also allow for getting done a lot quicker. No need to take small sections to get a great look. I love the 360 swivel of the cord that keeps it from getting tangled so easily and creating a short life for the iron. You can use both hands without constantly trying to move the cord out of the way. I waited until I tried the flat iron a good amount of times before giving my opinion of it. I have very fine, thin Asian hair. I'm always wary of trying flat irons or any heating tools on my hair because I'm scared of breakage and additional damage to my already thin hair. I used to own a Hot Tools flat iron, but once I received this flat iron for Christmas a few years ago, the Hot Tools one was promptly donated. The best part of this flat iron is how securely it clamps onto my hair. I don't need an iron grip in order to get good tension; the flat iron does it on its own. It also heats up extremely quickly – if I spray heat protectant on my hair and then immediately turn on the flat iron, the heat protectant will not be dry before the flat iron comes to temp. I also love the multiple temperature settings. I have loosely wavy hair that holds heat styling well, and I always have the temperature set to 365° F. My sister has curly hair, so when I'm doing her hair, we either keep the temperature at 365° or increase it one setting (to around 400°) depending on the day. I also love the aesthetics of this flat iron and of Kristin Ess' entire line of tools. The soft touch is nice and grippy, and it's never slipped out of my hand. I've owned this flat iron for years, and even though I don't straighten my hair every day, I've never had an issue with anything rubbing off. This is the first, and probably only, flat iron I would recommend to anyone asking for it.Katie
I used this flat iron about once a week and loved it. The temperature heats very quickly but the downside is that it shuts off after 30 minutes. I have really long thick hair and it takes me about one hour to straighten all of it. So it’s a bit of an inconvenience shutting off after 30 minutes. I was really disappointed that after having it for only a few months, it began malfunctioning, saying “error” on the display and turning off every 10 minutes.
I have the nanoblack 3-in-one flat iron (couldn’t find it in Influenster) the full size, not the mini. It has a 9ft cord that moves with the iron (like if you’re doing curls) it’s not fixed to it, this is helpful if you’re like me have hair past your butt + it helps keep your cord from getting twisted. This iron is beautiful, it has a very soft silky feel to it is super sleek looking. It’s fairly light weight comfortable to hold. My hand wrist don’t get tired half way through doing my hair. It doesn’t have a lock on it to keep it closed but it does come with a cap you can slide over the end which keeps it closed, the instructions sheet says the cap is heat proof but I don’t quite trust that it is so I leave the iron in my sink until it cools down before putting the cap on (which fits quite snugly) hanging it up. As far as heat up time WOW this thing heats up FAST! It took less than 30 seconds for it to get up to temp! The sides are rounded so you can easily do curls without getting crease lines in them, although I haven’t quite mastered the technique of curling with a flat iron yet. One thing I was worried about was that hair would snag but after using it a few times that’s no longer a concern. My hair slides through it like silk. It has ceramic plates which are great for those of us who tend to get static hair after using hot tools (ugh the worst) It has a few different heat settings. I did have to look up how to do that since there’s no dial or specific button for that but it was easy to do. Just keep clicking the power button quickly until it’s the temp you want. When you plug it in you have to hit the power button, it doesn’t just start heating up on its own like other irons I’ve owned in the past. With all that being said I definitely do recommend this iron if you’re in the market for a new one. It came in a really nice heavyweight cardboard box with a magnetic flap, I’m sure most will throw it away but if you’re like me keep the boxes to repurpose or so your tools are more protected during travel this is a good box that won’t be crushed or damaged easily.krystal .d

That extra quarter inch makes a difference for longer hair. The heat is consistent. Love the digital settings. I use medium prefixed setting and within a minute it is fully heated. You'll only need one pass through to get smooth results. There is no tugging or pulling the hair. You can get close to the roots easily. I run the iron all the way down except the last inch to protect my ends. Also, the plates are positioned just right so that you never burn your scalp. Just received my new Chi G2 straightener today. I LOVE IT! it works so good! Beeping and defaulting to a cooler setting, on first use. Retuned within a week explaining this, as my previous Cloud Nine irons never did this in 3 years of using them! Customer services advised me: “I would advise you to apply a little less pressure when using the product and you will no longer hear the intermittent warning beep” After straightening my hair for 20 years, this has never been an issue previously. Disappointed that my complaint was brushed off as me not being able to use the product correctly. The irons were retuned to me, and despite ‘multiple tests being carried out by engineers’, hey presto! The beeping and defaulting to a lower heat setting happened again on first use. I was really looking forward to these hair straighteners, having read lots of reviews, I chose these over another well known brand. To be honest I dont really rate them, I mean they're OK but don't see why everyone raves about them. I have to have them on the highest temperature for them to do anything. I have shoulder length hair. My daughter who has long hair also feels the same. They don't live up to my expectations. I am absolutely blown away by my purchase of Cloud 9 straighteners. I was a GHD girl, through and through, having had my last pair for over 10 years. However, I noticed that they started to pull my hair and snap it slightly so thought it may be time for an upgrade. I instinctively looked at the new GHDs but then I asked a few friends and they ALL said I should buy Cloud 9s instead. So I trusted their advice and bought some. Wow. I am blown away. I have very thick long hair and these Cloud 9s glide down it without a single tug, infact I can't feel them at all. But the BEST bit about these straighteners is that they keep my hair poker straight for days!!! With my previous straighteners, I would have to straighten my hair almost daily and sometimes even going out in the wind would affect how straight it stayed but with the Cloud 9s I am actually only having to straighten after washing and it stays poker straight for days (upto 4!) And because I'm straightening it less, I am benefitting from not having to wash it as much too as it doesn't go greasy as quickly. All in all, I am so pleased I switched brands! I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. I was a bit skeptical purchasing this because of the price.. Most cheap flat irons don't work at all! But with the rating and positive reviews I figured why not, its not like I'm investing that much money into it.. And after using it one time I am VERY HAPPY that I purchased this flat iron!! It works great and even tho it got a bit to hot it works great for my hair! It doesn't have a light up screen so its a bit difficult to see the temperature if you have bad vision but for this price still not mad lol. Thank you for an affordable hair straightener!! Not Purple as shown, Product description (photo) is incorrect. I bought this in the past, but they must have changed the straightener but not updated the description. The straightener I received is not purple, but black with purple plates. Same goes for the purple blow dryer by Remington sold here on Walmart (shows purple but is all black with purple accents). I have had my unit for three years. I have long coarse frizzy hair. This flat iron has reduced my straightening time to about 12 minutes. I use the second to lowest temp setting on small sections of dry hair. I get beautiful waves by twisting the flat iron and pulling down through the hair with an even amount of tension. Here in Miami the humidity is high but after I straighten my hair, it doesn't frizz. I don't use any straightening products before using the flat iron. Just clean, very dry hair and the second to lowest temperature setting (420 degrees F). The cord is long and swivels to prevent tangles. The flat iron plates are very smooth, shiny metal without any coating. My hair glides very easily through the iron. It is an excellent product.Rose
I really like this flat iron, but I should have gotten the one that's a little heavier. This one is quite lightweight, which you would think would be a good feature as it's easier to hold. My is my absolute favorite straightener. And I have quite a few (don't judge me 😫 ) and 3 of them have been a chi. I actually got my first one when I was in hair school and it was a pretty basic iron (back then they didnt have the same technology as they have today) and from there I upgraded. They have lasted me FOREVER! This new one came with a warantee and everything which when something is guarenteed I appreciate that as a customer. I'm much more likely to spend a good amount of money if it's a product that the company is so confident in that they can back it up. Anyway it has all the features you would look for in a styling tool. Safety, temp control, shut off feature, you can put it on a stand so it's safe to set down, it came with a cute little case for either travel or as a dust protector. I'm not sure if they all did, but this one that I purchased off the website did. And there are different discounts for people in school or sale or coupons for new or returning customers. I have pretty thick, somewhat wavy hair. Even though my hair isn't very wavy it's very difficult to actually straighten. The most id ever spent on a straightener before this was $20, and you could tell. I'd go over and over my hair with my revlon trying to get it flat and not to mention the plastic catching on my hair and ripping it But this has changed my life in just the 24 hours I've had it!! I am totally impressed by this flat iron. I have always loved CHI straighteners but this is a whole new level of amazing. I have long thick wavy hair and I set the heat to 360 degrees since I read 400 or above can really damage your hair. It heated up to 360 in about 30 sec and was ready to use. The plates are smoother than my other CHI and just glide through my hair. I was done in about 2-3 minutes and my hair has never looked so shiny!! I've always used heat protection spray but the shine was all from this straightener. My hair feels so soft and healthy. I also love the auto shut off feature and it's the main reason I bought this one in the first place because I forget if I unplugged my straightener or not. Only downside to this is the plug doesn't have surge protection on it, so don't straighten your hair while barefoot on a wet floor or around water. Thankfully my husband installed outlets in our bathroom that have the surge protection buttons on them. Just something to be aware of. Otherwise, this hair tool is a no brainer. I have stayed away from mini flat irons because they did not get hot enough to straighten my curly hair. I have not used this yet but did test it upon receipt. There is no heat control which I wish there were. It did get hot enough for my hair so I am very excited to take it on my next vacation so I can leave my regular, expensive flat iron at home. I purchased this to iron my bangs when I'm traveling for work. You have to section your hair into small portions and it's very difficult to finish with a slight curl at the end. My bangs end up looking straight and almost comical anytime I use this. It's not even that good at small touchups around the face etc. I've given it a few tries, and no luck. These are amazing set of straightener’s. And heat up very quick I only have short hair so only need to 170 temp for a perfect look. They do heat up to 190 but that’s to hot for my hair. It was my hairdresser who recommended them and the price is fantastic as well. They come with a little bag to slip over the main straightener. I had this flat irons for 3 years now. I set it to 450. After clarifying my hair 3 times or 2 times I follow up with a moisturizing shampoo which I use only one time. Then the conditioner lastly the deep conditioner which I set under the dryer for about 20 minutes. I rinse my hair with lukewarm water then a quick 10 sec shot of ice cold water. I t shirt dry my hair let it set to absorb the water, put some leave in conditioner on my hair then some hair heat protector serum. I section my hair blow dry it on low heat. After I flat iron my hair on 450 using the chase method. It takes me 2 hours to flat iron my hair. My hair is 4c, naturally blonde (do not ask me my race or where I am from because I don't know.), my hair is so thick that sometimes I actually lost my comb in my hair plenty of times. And my hair is to my waist If it straighten. But If it is in an afroc state, it's 2 inches pass my shoulders. I will forever keep this flat iron.carolyn.r
I bought this less then a year ago. At first it was amazing! Heated fast glided smoothly through my hair. Made my hair pin straight. And does beautiful curls. But now the coating is chipping off on the edges pretty badly. It isn't gliding as nicely leaving creases. Also it doesn't seem to be getting as hot. I need it hot because my hair is super thick and my daughters hair is even thicker so low heat does nothing. So now im back to looking AGAIN. Straight from the box, this straightener has a soft high-quality feel and sleek look. It’s really nice to hold due to whatever material it’s made out of. It’s light and the cord swivels, allowing for a range of motion, so for those of you who want to use it to create waves or curls, it’s really convenient. The straightener also has an auto-shut off feature, which is exactly what I needed because I always worry that I forgot to turn my straightener off. Oddly enough, due to the auto-shut off, this straightener has alleviated a lot of stress for me. Lastly, regarding design, it comes with a heat-proof nozzle, which is such a nice feature when you have a small countertop like I do and tend to burn yourself after you’ve finished straightening your hair. As for straightening, this works wonderfully. I have fine wavy hair that tends to frizz at the tips and curl. It takes me fifteen minutes to straighten my hair, but this straightener made my hair look shinier and straighter without any kinks. It definitely works as intended and it’s just such a really lovely product.
For this straightener to cost as much as it does, you’d think it would work properly. I have naturally curly hair which can take about 30 minutes to straighten. This thing shuts off at least 5 times while I’m using it. You don’t realize it until you’ve gone over one piece of hair 6 times because it doesn’t seem to want to straighten. It is so cute and feels so fancy! It comes in a sturdy box that you could reuse and just looks so well presented. Anyways on to the actual product…\n\nThis iron feels so nice in your hand. I have small hands and i think it is the perfect size. Better yet it is coated in such a soft rubbery type material on the surface which makes it easy to grip and less likely to slip. As someone who easily burns herself on irons by having them slip this is a huge plus for me. At first I was confused where the digital display would be (before I turned it on) but once I did and saw it light up in the pretty rose gold part at the bottom I was very excited. That makes it seem very high end and fancy. Another really great design is the power button- it is on the inside of the straightening iron. How many times have I accidentally turned the power off or the heat up or down? Too many! This totally solves that issue because you can accidentally push a button on the inside. You control the heat and power with that one button and it’s very easy to understand and do. \n\nAnother thing about the design of this iron is the very cool heat resistant cover that comes with it. I haven’t seen this in any other iron and I’m very impressed with it. For storage, traveling, and every day use a cover is beyond helpful to avoid burns. Additionally there is an automatic shut off, which is pretty much a necessity for anyone who is forgetful. You might have unplugged the iron, but can you really remember when you think about it at work and worry about your house burning down? This relieves that headache. The last design element I will mention is the perfectly curved outside shape around the iron which makes curling hair with the iron a breeze. It is so much better than doing it with a flat boxy iron. \n\nOn to the performance- this iron heats up so quick! Most of us get ready in a hurry so that is such a nice feature. I tried it on short hair, long hair, corse hair, fine hair, curly hair, freshly washed hair, days old hair, etc. In every case it straightened the hair in one quick pass and looked great. I included some pictures below of two people I tried it on. Its a bargain if you are in a pinch — however it only has two settings — low and high. It says it gets up to 400 degrees, but even on the high setting it does not seem like it. I would be taking an hour just about out of my day to try and straighten my hair. I do not have thick hair, but its not the thinnest either. It is long as well (down to mid back). The plates are a bit small, so I am guessing it would be better for those with shoulder length hair or shorter. I recently decided to buy a new straightener from a different brand and with that one at 300 degrees it is MUCH hotter than this has ever reached on the high setting. What used to take me nearly an hour took me less than ten minutes. This straightener also makes my hair frizzy and gives it lots of static I would brush it down and re-straighten it, as it caused some knots. I do not recommend this as a first choice.KenBr

I've always used a Remington hair straightener, and after 10 years of my old one finally going out on me; I purchased this. Although it straightens my hair very well; it definitely fried my hair. I've even turned it down to the lowest setting. I have just a little bit of wave in my hair and like to use irons just to make my hair look sleek. As much as I love this iron and I love the brand; beware because these new irons can really ruin your hair. I have very wavy hair that goes past my shoulders. While technically my individual hair strands are thin, I have a lot of hair. So straightening my hair takes me a long time and is a bit of a hassle. I always use a heat protecting spray or serum regardless, but I haven't had the greatest luck with flat irons. It takes so long that I get hot from the heat off the iron and my arms get tired. Plus hair would get fully straight, nor would it last. have to say that since using the Remington® T|Studio™ Thermaluxe™ 2” Straightener, those issues are a thing of the past. The 2 inch plates are covered in 10 times ceramic. This gives more protection to the hair against heat damage and helps reduce more frizz. The wide 2 inch plates really make quick work of my hair. I'm actually able to achieve strait, sleek, and silk strands. With 30 temperature settings up to 450 degrees, I can set the heat that works best for my hair. I'm able to straighten all of my hair so much faster now – 15 – 20 minutes! This flat iron only takes 15 seconds to heat up and automatically shuts off after 60 minutes. I just love it! This is absolutely my favorite straightener of all time. I've spent hundreds of dollars on hair tools, but this flat iron does the job quicker than any of the rest. I have wavy, thick, long, frizzy, and coarse hair (damage from trying to go Beyonce blonde by myself), and it takes several tries to get rid of the kinks with smaller flat irons. But with this one, I can be ready in less than 10 minutes. I also just have to put on some serum before running it through the straightener and it will leave some shine in my hair. I don't like to curl my hair with a straightener so having a wider head that can take more of my hair at once has been absolutely ideal for me. The trick is to divide your hair into the top part and bottom part, go in with the straightener and a comb, bring the flat iron down slowly, and voila. It's straight. You don't have to damage your hair by repeatedly running a hot tool over it to smooth out all the kinks in your hair. I would highly recommend this straightener to everyone. Best I have ever used, after several Ion flat irons. I thought each of them was best when purchased. I bought this to have as backup for when my current Ion was out of commission. I liked it so well, I relegated my current iron to backup and now use this one exclusively. First and primary improvement is that the temp control is located on the inside portion of the iron. On the older one, it was easy to accidentally hit the "off" button (located on the outside of the barrel), cooling the iron. Then had to heat it up again. This Ion heats up quickly and does the job beautifully. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
