Very happy with this purchase. The desk was very easy and quick to set up. It has a thick substantial base so it doesn't feel flimsy. The top of the desk is dark and durable and will easily handle lots of wear and tear for my variety of at home projects. The desk looks nice when assembled. But there are many flaws. Most drawers drag or don't match up perfectly. Center drawer bumps against the desktop on the top right. The door on the left has more space on the top right and is off center. Nothing aligns properly. But it was such an ordeal to complete, there is no way I'm returning it now. I'm not sure it can be safely moved to a different location because the only stability is the top holding both sides together. I would highly recommend making sure all pieces are there and properly drilled before assembly. It took me three shipments to finally have all the pieces I needed to assemble the desk. This was not cheap and should have been of higher quality. I will say that customer service was very accommodating and apologetic for each replacement part though. But do you really want to take 3 weeks to assemble a desk?Homeworker
Great Desk and well made. It is generous in size but perfect for my teen daughters. It is stable. I’ve had other desk that were not as stable and broke within the year. Worth the money especially during this time of trying to find a desk that was like this one. I believe it is American made Crosby is the maker so this also matter to me because I purchased another desk with similar prize from popular website and there’s literally broke as soon as we put together. Purchased the blue for my preteen. First order to arrive was the wrong color desk. Without a FedEx drop off near my location, I had to return this 50 pound item to my local Walmart store. Kind of a hassle. After completing another order, I did receive the right color. You receive pretty much would you expect to receive in an $80 desk – pressed particleboard, thin veneer overlay with plastic caps and feet. Measure carefully. I measured very carefully, and I’m still a bit surprised by how low this desk is. We are having a difficult time finding a chair to fit underneath it. Desk definitely could’ve been packaged better. Several of the corners were slightly crimped because the packaging simply wasn’t sturdy enough for the manhandling that boxes receive in transit. Assembled in about 30 minutes. Workspace area is decent and shelving storage areas are nice. I needed to clean up some of the predrilled holes to allow the support rods to situate properly. The most bothersome part about this purchase, is that someone very clearly tried to touch up nicked and scuffs spots along the entire front edge of the desk. I have no idea what some of y'all are expecting when you buy this desk! It's not a handcrafted solid wood heirloom item intended to be passed down yo your grands or anything, it's a cheap, solid surface that will get you through if you can't afford something better. Most of my furniture is this screw-together dorm situation kind of thing and this desk is comperable to that. The trick is to always make sure you're assembling it correctly: there is a front and a back to every piece and if you're trying to force it to assemble backwards, it's not going to work. I usually set aside a couple hours, smoke a bowl, and assemble my flatpack. It's a good time. Like the title says, I've had this thing for a while. If you want more stability, use Locktight on the screws to glue them in. It goes faster if you have a power drill. You can wrap the wood with contact paper before assembly to hide defects, make it hold up better, and personalize it to match your aesthetic (I used granite pattern contact paper and it looks much better than any desk I'll ever be able to afford in my life).B

very compact desk great for small spaces. I bought it to go in the corner of my living room. You would barely know the desk is there. Its small and out of the way and just blends in. It's sturdy. A friend told me it looked sleek. I would HIGHLY recommend not buying this desk. If I could give the desk zero stars I 100% would. It’s definitely going to be a waste of your money and time. When I first bought the desk, there was a HUGE piece of wood chipped off and missing, when trying to get a refund or replacement. There were a few things wrong with this desk. Upon opening the box, it had been damaged in 4 places during shipment. I sort of overlooked this damage because I thought I would be able to fix it, which entails me having to go to the store to get wood fill. Annoying, but not necessarily a huge deal. What was super annoying was that it literally took over 3 hours to put this together and I had to ask my dad (professional carpenter) for help. Parts were not labeled and the instructions were just pictures. Handles are chinsy and I will probably replace these too. Lastly, there was literally styrofoam all over the place from this thing. Nice desk for the price. The building instructions are TERRIBLE! My guy is a master certified technician, so very accustomed to putting things together, he had to go back MANY times and remove/switch up screws/placement. Great desk! Mine arrived with a small cosmetic chip at the corner, but is otherwise in great condition!Instructions were a little unclear and misleading. For one, there was a piece where there was a big hole in it for the plastic grommet, but the instructions did not show that hole, so it was difficult to tell the orientation of the piece, so that part gave me a 10 min headache. Also, the instructions said to turn the nut lock cams 180 degrees or half or a turn, but I found that it was too tight most of the time after breaking one at a turn 175 degrees. 160 degrees seems safe and use your own judgment if it feels too hard to turn. Otherwise, it was very easy to assemble for all the clear parts of the instructions — the instructions were a bit tiny at some parts so it was hard to tell if it was the left or right side, but I figured it outBecause of the broken small cam from the unclear instructions, I had to ask the company to send me one. They were very quick to respond and offered to send an entire screw pack or $20 so we can go buy it at our hardware store. I say that's pretty generous, and I would have taken the $20 if I knew where to buy the screws which would probably have costed me $6-10. Awesome company! I'm confident that any missing piece will be replaced, so do not worry about that if you are thinking about purchasing
Absolutely LOVE this desk. The black finish and gold handles are really beautiful and I am so excited about this purchase! It took a few hours to put together between two people but I enjoyed it. I don't mind building furniture and the instructions were pretty easy to follow once you get started. I definitely needed to sit down and concentrate on the steps in the beginning but then it all fell into place easily. Definitely would recommend this desk for anyone who doesn't mind putting some work into it! I felt very accomplished and proud afterward!
Bought this for or daughter. Assembly was fine up until we got to the main desk drawer. Assembled exactly as instructions show and drawer 1). Would not close the front panel sits too high, and 2). The front of drawer will not stay attached to bottom and sides of drawer mount, keeps falling apart even after screw lugs are tightened. Contacted manufacturer within a week of assembly to ask for new drawer pieces, and kept getting asked for photos which I sent multiple times. Here we are 2 months later, over 4 emails back and forth and NOTHING, CRICKETS!!!!! Now just Trying to screw and glue drawer together as best I can even though it won't shut all the way (front panel cut too high and hits desk top) but at least our daughter can have use of drawer for things. Extremely dissapointed in this company. KEEP LOOKING, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! WASTE OF $$$$

This is the expanded version of the Sauder Palladia computer desk, with three extra drawers. There's so much to like about this design… Many of the features you'd find in significantly more expensive pieces are included, and while no one will mistake this for a $5,000 desk, it looks far more expensive than it really is. (And it actually sells for a lot more elsewhere, too.) First, it looks good from the other side, too. Even better, the panel on each side is cleverly hidden extra storage. Shallow, to be sure, but a great use of space that's normally wasted. The desk top is plenty roomy enough even for a busy executive, and there are two built-in holes for cords. The center "drawer" is actually a slide-out keyboard tray. (The drawer front pulls down to extend the space and give better access.) The lower drawer has rails for hanging files. The desk measures roughly 65" long, 30" deep and 30" tall. It ships in one carton at a weight of about 243 pounds. Putting it together is no small task. There are numerous (and very helpful) "how to" videos on the Sauder website, but it's a very big job; consider hiring a pro if things with lots of parts frustrate you. Also offered in the Palladia collection are a bookshelf, credenza, desk with hutch, L-desk, lateral file and more. Five different finishes available. I couldn’t wait to receive this desk and I have never been more disappointed with an item in my life. Looks NOTHING like the photo. First, it’s gray not light brown. Secondly, it has huge black marks all over it. I’m assuming this is because the manufacturer wanted to make the wood look distressed but instead it just looks like a toddler took a sharpie and drew all over it. Terrible purchase. False advertising. Definitely not as described. Buyer beware!!

Along with two large hanging file drawers, it is perfect for our needs. All of the reviews that mention the time require for assembly are absolutely true. I am very handy. I do a lot of DIY home renovations, carpentry, etc. And I promise you that it took somewhere north of NINE HOURS for me to assemble this desk; and not because of poorly-written directions. There are 40 pages of instructions with good illustrations and well-marked parts. It just takes a LONG time to do it. But, I knew that going in. Great purchase. Highly recommend. I’m using this as a vanity for my makeup, and it works well for that purpose. I don’t think it would work as well as a desk as it isn’t extremely sturdy. The directions claimed that two people could put it together in 30 minutes. It took me, by myself, over three hours to put it together, and I’m good at this activity. My main negative, the letters labeling on each piece are on the front, finished side, not the back. And they are difficult to remove cleanly. But other than that, if you’re looking for a low-budget makeup table, you couldn’t do much better.Jeza
This piece is very easy to put together – but you definitely need to read the instructions very carefully for you may end up taking some pieces apart like I had to before completing the whole process. Instructions need to be more defined (clearer pictures) as the step by step process drawings are not too specific for someone, like me, who may miss a step or put the pieces backwards but it is not rocket science. this product arrived quickly everything looks good. once I got near the end of assembly the side shelf eating was off by 4 to 5 inches. I had to drill a new hole for one of the screws and it all looks great. only gave four out of five stars do to me have to meet to make the change.Roy

The design is great. Assembly was time consuming- all parts were in package and instructions were relatively clear. It tooks us about 3 hours to build. I appreciate the table top space for working. I am a bit disappointed with the drawers- they do not line up well and the drawer slider are stiff. The file drawer doesn't stay level. I don't have access to the whole drawer as they do not roll out fully. I cannot put in a file without having to force it in. the big lot website was easy to browse and items had plenty of description. However, when searching for items using the search field provided, the hits on the search was not accurate. The search feature needs to be tuned up. The office desk that I purchased looks nice when I put it together. However, the large drawer is stuck and very difficult to open and close. I checked and double checked the installation, but I have not found a solution to the stuck drawer. Also, the instructions that came with the desk had drawings but no written step-by-step instructions. This made the process very difficult and time consuming. Another issue was that not all the pieces were labeled with numbers or letters. Only one tiny glue container was provided which was not nearly enough for the project. I love this desk. Assembly was easy, but these things out of the box always seem overwhelming. I put this together in a little over an hour and it gave me no issues so it was pretty fun comparatively. I am not a fan of the handles it comes with which are chintzy and don’t seem purposeful, but I had planned to shop for replacements which were easy to do because they were standard size. I picked up these brushed nickel from home depot for less than $15 for 3 and it really elevated the look. The only negative is the back side of the drawer cubes are unfinished. The support beam is finished on both sides and it would be nice if they were as well so you could float the desk in a room. I’m planning to resurface those with a peel and stick decor paper or other material that can be applied easily to the backside. I would definitely recommend this desk as it’s held up well for me for over 2 years!brittany_lange1941859

This product was an absolute nightmare. First, no instructions were sent. The instructions were poorly written and illustrated. NO…you will not spend '30 minutes' trying to put this together, but hours. And, the construction is so poor that with even the slightest movement, the pieces of the desk fall apart and separate and do NOT go back together. The edges are already damaged with just simple handling and surfaces are already scratched up with the same simple handling. I am scared to put anything on the desk since it is already falling apart and am seriously considering throwing it in the trash it is so unstable and looks so shoddy. It isn't like I can take it all apart again and send it back. Hours were spent putting this piece of junk together. Do NOT waste your money on this!!!!!Seb
I liked the fact that this is a small unit but big enough for adults to use. The directions were ok to use, but the markings on the wood parts could have been a little better to see. When tightening the screws, you better not overtighten as they will easily strip out the holes. Overall this was not hard to assemble and the finish product looks good. The quality of this product is beyond poor. When I tried putting it together the nails cracked the wood and the entire desk its self fell apart and every single piece was broken, there was no way to return it and because every piece broke in half. I'm beyond disappointed and mad that I have bought this product and lost $188.00 with shipping. As of now I will NEVER recommend this product or order from Walmart these kind of items. They should tell people how bad quality this item is and that no matter how you try to put it together the wood cracks. I purchased this through Sam's club and the price was great. The size is perfect for my application. It was missing the instruction manual in the packaging so I'm only giving it four stars, but I went online and was able to find it on the Techni Mobili website. I'm writing this review because I was really impressed with the packaging and labeling of the components, the picture description of each component and also where each component was located on the finished desk. The instructions were also very clear with step by step details and illustrations. I've never seen such clear instructions and was totally impressed since I'm a novice at DIY.VivH

Relatively easy to assemble. Nice wood with good finish. Top "shelves" on desk are not sufficiently anchored to the desk. Once one realizes this and takes caution into moving considerations, the issue of the upper shelving can be minimized. Anchoring during routine use is not a problem. Another note is the upper shelf lacking backing to keep items on the shelf from falling behind the desk, which can occur rather easily. The fit of the drawer in the desk during assembly is very delicate, and any deviation from meticulous construction makes the drawer somewhat difficult to open and close. Adjustments after assembly may be necessary, and resolution of this issue is possible without major deconstruction of the area around the drawer. Finally, computer drawer could be a little deeper to adequately accommodate a laptop, or at least most laptops, without having to have the front edges of the computer hanging over the front of the drawer to ensure sufficient opening of the computer screen for viewing.Steven W.
This desk is very sturdy and seems like it will last a while. The directions are difficult to read due to no written instructions. It is just a booklet full of pictures and arrows. This seems great, but there are many screws and inserts that look the same but are a different size so pay attention to this. Also, the picture are very hard to determine which side the board are supposed to be on. There were a couple times I had it backwards (black side facing wrong way) and had to take the screws out to turn it around. The other thing I am highly upset about is the board they give you for the back of the drawer/shelf area. It’s pretty much a piece of cardboard paint black on one side! AND it wasn’t even the right size! Right now, with nothing on the shelves, it is very noticeable, but I’m hoping once I fill the shelves up, you won’t be able to tell. Lastly, (this isn’t a deal breaker for me) I ordered the desk in black. It did come in black, but the inside of the drawer is a greyish color? Personally, I would have rather had it all be black and match, but I really like the shelf itself so I can get used to it. All in all, this desk does has some cons, but now that I have it together, I am satisfied with my purchase. There are a couple things I would change, but I think I can manage.Klw
