This is my first foray into pomades, and I was braced for something between a hair oil and the crunchy gels of the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised to find Cremo delivered something far better. This pomade is a solid hold, especially when worked through do hair, and it holds for 24 hours, if not longer. I've been able to mist water on my hair and comb it back into place after sleeping for a second day's hold. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is great — nothing to compete with my aftershave and cologne. I have 3a/b curly hair, ringlets with big volume and I thought I'd never be able to wear my hair straight without using a straightener religiously. I recently received this Cremo Thickening Styling Paste #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox to try in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time my fiancé is trying a styling paste, he usually uses hair glue for his hair. He found that the product was easy to use and work into his hair. The texture of the paste is really soft and not at all sticky or tacky. It however does not have as much hold as his usual hair glue. He actually has pretty thick hair to begin with so he couldn't tell if there was a thickening effect. However, he said he really loved the scent of product. Just got this a couple days ago from #sephora couldn’t hardly wait to try it. I used a generous amount, in sections, on my damp hair (right after the shower….wash day) and let my hair air dry half way, then followed the rest by blow drying it with my on low force, but medium heat. I have used the American Crew Fiber and Pomade. This product, the "Forming Cream" I would describe as the middle, the perfect balance. My hair is thick, somewhat coarse, yet soft. I wear my hair short, almost like a buzz and usually let it grow longer so that I can comb it over (by longer I'm talking 4-5 inches on the top, sometimes more). What I didn't like about Fiber is that it can be too clay like and usually made my hair too stiff. I found fiber to work best the shorter my hair was, but even then it was a super strong and stiff hold. It was actually working as intended, but not to my liking. What I didn't like about Pomade was the high shine and depending on how much used, greasy feel to my hair. And once again, you buy Pomade for the shine, so working as intended but not to my liking.dipen.p

As a lover of vintage fashion, I'd heard many good things about this pomade, but having fine, wavy hair made sculpted styles nearly impossible. Combine that with hair that's starting to thin, and you realize that maybe long hair isn't your thing… However, it turns out Suavecita is a short-haired girl's best friend! I recently had my hair cut into an asymmetrical pixie, and needed a product that would allow for frizz control and texture enhancement, without weighing my hair down or making it sticky. Not only does it help fight frizz (mega important if you live somewhere with humid summers), it gives a ton of dimension and texture to wavy hair, and makes training your cowlicks a breeze! I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. Ive worked my way through dozens of brands of hair products over the years and this is one of the best for a few reasons. What first attracted me to this was the smell. My barber uses it and it smells amazing like others have said, almost like pineapple. I thing it works best with short hair but it has excellent hold and doesnt feel too sticky or greasy once in. Its great as it stays good for the whole day, doesnt leave residue and is able to be reshaped so easily. However, they must have changed the formula as the scent was better in the old days.Also, this is now one of the greasiest hair products that Ive used. I think using butter would look less greasy. For many, many years I have used the Consort Men's Aerosol hair spray and loved it. A few months ago i realized that i was getting low on it and found it almost impossible to find either at all, or at reasonable prices. I then decided that I might try the Consort non-aerosol hair spray so that at least I would have something to use. When I got home I tried it the next day and was disappointed. The spray is too thick and wide. As such, it gets all over one's hand when spraying and it is too wet. By comparison the aerosol is a fine spray that can be controlled, covers better and holds how I want it to. Thinking that the aerosol version may never come back, I purchased several bottles of the non-aerosol, which I now regret. Why? Not only because it is just not as good a product as the aerosol, but I recently was able to get a reasonable supply of the aerosol locally, which should hold me (no pun intended) for a while and hopefully the supply chain issues for it, if that is what is behind its lack of availability, will improve for all users.hjc

Reformer works best for those who want a medium hold with a satin finish. Great for a "messy" textured look. I wouldn't call this a dry look… (Check out the Matterial for a dry textured finish.) This will work best on straight to slightly wavy hair under 2 inches… unless your willing to put in some time to shape your style. Once applied, this is very tacky, so combing through it isn't ideal. As with most paste products, it should be applied to dry hair only (towel dried at the wettest) – or you'll be going through a can every two weeks.

I used this many years ago when I was relaxing my hair to smooth it while drying under hood dryers. When I transitioned to natural hair, I tried almost every product on the market until I got my hair cut and asked the stylist what she liked for natural hair. When she mentioned this product I remembered the results on relaxed hair so I bought some immediately. I wash and apply about a quarter size amount twice to my hair which is short on the sides and long on top. I can easily detangle the top and twist single curls all over; let them dry and pull apart the next day for fabulous curls that last the week. I still two strand twist them anyway at nite but there really is no need. My hair is thick 4B/C and this gives it moisture and shine. Y’know, these hair products are varied and it takes time and trials to find just the right product for you. This product works great for me. My hair is very fine but very dense. By that I mean each hair is silky and fine but there are tons of them. The liquid version of this is good too but gives a firmer result. I often combine them a bit. A little, like dime-sized dollop works great on my relatively short haircut. Not very expensive and it works well for me. I hope it works the same for you!DC
I used to love this product and I've used it for years. Like another customer review on here, I also think the product has changed and for the worse, unfortunately. The other review was from the UK, but I'm in the USA and I'm seeing a change as well. I've tried two different retailers and both purchases had the same quality issues. It used to be more solid to the touch and now it is much more gooey. It doesn't hold my hairstyle nearly as well as it used to. So I really like this product. I have pretty much always stuck to matte, no shine hair products, since my hair is naturally black and also very fine, so anything with shine to it just tends to look greasy in my hair. But I decided to give this a whirl, and I'm glad that I did. So first off, the product description is that it has a "natural" look, and it's pretty apt, since it neither adds shine, nor mattifies. The product also claims that it's a good pre-styler, and that it cocktails well with other products. As for using it as a pre-styler, I did find it a bit heavy, at least for my fine hair. However, I will say that it works fantastic on its own or with other products. It's not greasy, it's not heavy, and it allows you to manipulate your hair without setting hard or too quickly. The hold level is shown as being a 4 out of 5, which I will say I think is a bit off, as I would say this is a 3 going on 4. It's best suited to messier styles, because while it will give you good control, it's not going to defy gravity. The scent is pretty subtle and not something you are going to really notice, for better or worse. Overall, I would have given this a 4.5 rating, but the site doesn't allow that, so I gave it a 5Joel H.

This is my first foray into pomades, and I was braced for something between a hair oil and the crunchy gels of the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised to find Cremo delivered something far better. This pomade is a solid hold, especially when worked through do hair, and it holds for 24 hours, if not longer. I've been able to mist water on my hair and comb it back into place after sleeping for a second day's hold. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is great — nothing to compete with my aftershave and cologne. I have 3a/b curly hair, ringlets with big volume and I thought I'd never be able to wear my hair straight without using a straightener religiously. I recently received this Cremo Thickening Styling Paste #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox to try in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time my fiancé is trying a styling paste, he usually uses hair glue for his hair. He found that the product was easy to use and work into his hair. The texture of the paste is really soft and not at all sticky or tacky. It however does not have as much hold as his usual hair glue. He actually has pretty thick hair to begin with so he couldn't tell if there was a thickening effect. However, he said he really loved the scent of product. Most hair styling products he has tried usually smells waxy or has a overwhelming perfumy scent. This one smells like an old fashioned barber shop. I used to use Ouai wave spray and it was amazing, but it’s also $26 for 4.9 ounces. I decided to try this on a whim because the travel size is only $6 and it totally exceeded my expectations. Overall not a bad hair product, and gives you the light hold it advertises. I tried it on both wet and dry hair and the results are a bit different. If you want to get a bit more hold I'd say apply it while your hair is still damp. If you're just looking to tame flyaways and freshen up your hair go for it dry. Only slight negative is the scent. Has a distinct barber shop kind of scent, which is not my taste but I know a lot of guys will probably like it. I also really appreciated that it came packaged with no additional plastic, in a recycled cardboard box. The last thing we need is more plastic junk in a landfill.hanklecankle123
Pretty nice cream! Definitely has a better hold than it gives itself credit for. Only need a small amount, meaning it will last a long time. Although I was actually hoping for a lighter hold and lighter cream. Don't love the smell, smells a bit chemical-y, like most hair gels/sprays, but you don't smell it once it's in your hair and you've washed your hands. So it's not an overwhelming scent which is great. Quite satisfied overall.Mr Smith
