I haven't used this product in a long time. I do remember it very clearly. I bought this at one of the discounted or liquidated stores. If I remember right it was either t.j. Maxx or Burlington. It is very Vivid in my imagination that I was trying to do everything to get rid of it. I know it stayed in my downstairs bathroom with a little bit left in the bottle. I hated the residue that it left on my hair and the lack of my hair feeling clean after using this. My ex-husband was very bad about using the last of a product once it got down to the bottom of it. It sat in his shower downstairs until one day I used the last of it. I always thought it was a product for men and that was a reason that I never bought it again. I thought maybe it was fine just for men and that's why I didn't work for me. For many years I know people bragged about the Crew brand.lisa .c

Anyone who dyes their hair copper knows that copper pigmented hair dye will not stay onto the hair particle for long. A brand new copper color hair do will last about a week or two before it fades into a honey brown color, and eventually a yellow-brown color. With this in mind, there are products that will help to prolong the dye coloration and slow down the fade process, and I turn to Redken shampoo every time​ to get the job done whenever I need to prolong my copper dye. I use this along with the Redken conditioner Color Extend and shampoo three x a week, conditioner once a week, and my copper pigmented color will last about 2 months before it fades onto a honey brown and eventually to a yellowish brown by the 4 months mark. Which is a major improvement from other regular Shampoo options in the market. This also has a great scent and will leave your hair super soft and manageable.keyline.d

If you're looking for a hair gel that has a super-duper, concrete-like firm hold…this is it. It's also got a pleasant, non-offensive, masculine scent. It's easy to spread throughout the hair (unlike some of the other "ultra firm" hold hair gels) and you can easily thin out the gel with some water. However, it does take about an hour for this gel to dry at ambient room temperature, once applied. Just note that if you're looking to transfer the gel into another bottle (like a travel bottle), the scent disappears quickly and it starts to take on a weird consistency. Keep it in the original bottle or buy a smaller bottle size. And if you're keeping it on your bathroom counter, look into buying a pump. Be sure to shop around, pricing varies wildly between beauty shops and online retailers.B.L.

American crew is a really great product and works exactly as advertised. Its smooth and rich in texture and leaves your hair a little crunchy while firmly holding hair in place.. but it's just to expensive. I can get the same quality hair care If not less from a local grocery store for 75% less. I would use this product all the time, I just wish it was more affordable. It's like most high end hair styling products. It does what it says it should. I use a pea size blob, a bit of water to emulsify and run through my hair prior to going in with a hair-dryer. Great volume for a high pony tail or any up-do. My son uses it to slick back his hair. Pure gel, no water. There's the usual tacky residue on your hands, brushes and combs. Wash brushes and combs using a little shampoo and you're ready for the next day.melissa.h

This stuff works amazing. I used it on my son before and he is hard on his hair at school. This stuff kept his hair in good condition, and kept it in place as I styled it. It smells amazing. The only thing I would say it is made his hair feel a little greasy after having it in for awhile. That.i didn't like. I thought this was supposed to be a light hair spray where it can hold your hair while leaving a nice soft flexible touch. It stiffened my hair quite a bit which I did not like. It is also hard to wash it off unless you use a conditioner to do it which I do not normally use since I already have soft thin hair.Sabby

This does not have a 'variable hold' or 'incredibly flexible finish' as the product description claims at the time of this review. It is essentially a spray gel. It has an incredibly strong alcohol smell. It takes a decent bit of pressure on the spray button to release the product and it comes out in a strong concentrated blast. It's not really suitable for spraying directly on your hair like a hairspray because of this. It is better used spraying first onto a brush or comb or on your hands then combining through your hair. It finishes just like a spray gel or hair spray in that your hair will be dry and crunchy. Also only a few hours after combing a not insignificant amount of the product through my hair it has almost completely disintegrated to the point its like I have nothing in my hair at all. So you will have a hair spray like finish which wears off after a few hours. I would not recommend this product.Andrew K

The sprayer head was changed so it has more volume per spray and less coverage — I am still using the same pump from 2 years ago while buying refills. I've tried a number of American Crew products and this one just doesn't work for me. It has less hold than the pomade, in my opinion, and leaves my hair looking greasy to the point that it looks like I've worked out and didn't shower afterwards. Honestly, it works so poorly that I wonder if I somehow got a fake product instead of the real thing… The smell is nice though! It's got a pleasant minty scent that I find enjoyable.A

Swell did absolutely nothing for my hair. I have thin, fine hair and was recommended this product after reaching out to them on instagram (really good customer service though!). But this did not make my hair appear thicker or feel fuller as it says on the bottle. Disappointed 🙁Julie

The actual product is amazing, it helps add volume to my hair but still feels clean and smells great. My problem is just with the container- the first time I went to open the lid, it broke off at the super flimsy hinge. I had been using another brand for years that came in a yellow tube and one day ran out by chance.I Never heard of this brand but I tried it out glad that I did now its my go to gel. Oh how much I love this gel!! It does have a cologne like smell but to me it smells so good. Whenever I want to scrunch my hair I use this gel and the last me the whole day. This gel does make your hair kind of hard so just a heads up but I like it because it stays styled how I did it initially, the hardness helps keep it the same.macarena.o

Hubby Bought this gel the smallest size at his barber shop but it was $20 he then got the other size which is 30 something oz for $28. We really like this gel since its 0 alcohol. This stuff is magical. This does more for my hair than blowdrying. It gives you the blowdried carry and volume and an excellent hold too. Touch up with some product if you want but it might not even be necessary. This is a daily essential for me.Matthew

The product is great. Not only does it have great hold but it washes out easily and when paired with other Forte Series products such as the Argan oil and Sea Salt Spray I can style my hair with ease. I only need to use a small amount so I’m sure it will last for awhile. Not to mention the sleek packaging and inviting scent. Alex and the team have done a great job in delivering a high quality product. The only reason I haven’t given it five stars is the price. Due to international shipping to the UK, the cost was pretty expensive and surmounted to roughly a 1/3 of the entire order. That's pricier than any other product I have bought from the US. This is the best men hair products ever the texture clay works really nicely. I have been looking for good hair products for so long and finally found one that was not good but perfect. It's tough looking for hair product that's natural and good on the body. While I enjoy a majority of the Badger products, this one needs a little more work on it. A lot of the reviews here are pretty much the same; a little more hold is desperately needed. A little beeswax is needed for a firmer hold. Also, water solubility is a problem as well. It's a bit oily at times when washing it from your hair; sometimes two washes are needed to clean up. Overall, the product does it job; smells great, holds but could hold a bit tighter. I bought this product for my husband. He has short, soft hair type. His favourite hair cream is discontinued so I got this one for the replacement. Having good ingredients and beautiful smell but… My husband didn't like it very much because it comes off and goes into his eyes. Too runny than textured wax type cream side. I use on clean dry hair. Use sparingly. It's good for fine hair that tangles, comb out with that clever "beard" comb…It is so gentle..comb and pomade, gently does it with the amount guys and gals and you'll have great smelling, healthy shiny hair. I say it's a winner!Anon

Pomade has a mild, fresh smell I've similar to other Brickell products. I used a dime-sized amount with dry hair and it held all day! I get a lot of stray hairs this time of year, and everything stayed neat and in place. Solid hold and still flexible enough to rework, hair had a natural, healthy shine. I liked the styling clay but wanted a bit more hold. This pomade does that. It doesn't have as prominent of a mint smell as the clay, which is too bad, but it doesn't smell bad either (it smells basically like nothing). It dries more stiffly than the clay pomade and leaves the hair feeling like it has product in it (kind of hard and crackly to the touch). The clay pomade left my hair feeling softer and less like it had product in it. In an ideal world, I'd love a product halfway between these two, with the hold of the texturizing pomade and the other features of the clay pomade. But for now, this one does the job!Thomas L.

I was really unsure how this would work for me and concerned that it would feel sticky or greasy on my hair, but I am very pleased with the results so far! I started with a very small amount and warmed it on my fingertips and gingerly began playing with my style. Immediately I had a bit of piecing and the appearance of movement but it didn't darken my hair or make it look greasy or as though it was full of product. Then I used the spray and voila! It doesn't feel greasy or stuck. In fact it doesn't feel at all! Can't wait to see how my style looks tomorrow morning. I purchased the Gentlemen's Pomade after watching Marcy Dixon's tutorial. It was very similar to other products that I've tried in the past; too much like putting "glue" in my hair. I didn't like the waxy stickiness after applying the product. I only used a tiny bit (size of a dime); I can't imagine if I had used more. I don't usually leave reviews but this is such an awesome product that I think will help out a lot of people. The clay pomade has a nice, strong hold but doesn't feel crunchy. It's really easy to apply and style, and the matte finish is perfect for people who have wavy hair (the more shine you have on wavy hair, the more your hair just looks wet). The pomade also lasts relatively long. I really enjoy this pomade and think anybody who's in the market for some should try this, especially if you have wavy hair. I cannot stress that enough.Khalil

I've used all kinds of products, most recently Billy Jealousy Styling Mud.My hair is straight and thick, cut shorter and textured. I like a more natural look that keeps my hair in place but allows for me to piece it out.This product is excellent, best stuff I've ever used. I've been a user of Clay for seven years and decided to try Thick because P&P hasn't let me down yet. I have a shorter hairstyle and slightly thinning in the rear crown. The hold is lighter than Clay and this is better for more casual days when I want a little less weight and hold and still can still my hair like I want. It leaves my hair feeling like there's almost no product in it and it smells great! I'm almost tempted to switch to Thick full time. I did as instructed…. "A little goes a long way – don't use too much." I put an extremely small amount into my hand. As I was working the cream with my hands, the orangish cream turned white. Why is it turning white. I applied it my hair, but it left white streaks in my hair. I contacted customer service (unable to speak to a live person) via email about the situation. Their response: "Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry you're having difficulty with he Thick. First I would suggest cutting back on how much you are using. A little goes a long way. Then work it into your hands vigorously to warm it up. You may have to play around with it a little to get the amount right." Basically, customer service just re-phrased the directions for Thick as stated on their site. Seriously? So I tried again. After vigorously working the cream with my hands, the white disappeared but left my hands sticky. That's all. There was nothing left to apply to my hair. I'm thinking, "What the f***?!" The cream should turn to clear, not white. And… one shouldn't have to vigorously work the cream in the hands. It's a cream. It's not the Putty. Even the Clay becomes clear after working it in the hands. I've had no issues using the Putty and Clay, but I would definitely stay away from the Thick. It's not worth the frustration. I love THICK! I grew out my hair a little bit due to it thinning as I'm getting older, but the products I used before would clump to hair together making my thinning hair more obvious. I was looking for something that didn't weigh my hair down, didn't clump my hair and had a somewhat loose hold. I tried THICK and it's all I use now. I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. The confetti paper is a mess and leaves behind a lot of paper powder all over everything inside the box and then it got on my hands and on the floor.S Merchant

This rich yet lightweight cream spreads easily and provides a light hold with low shine as described. Its aroma is quite similar to Fiber and its performance is what I would imagine a light gold version of that product to be. This would be great for medium to coarse hair in short styles that seek natural control without the need for major sculpting or manipulating. The American Crew Boost Powder really works wonders! I was amazed when I used it for the first time. My hair is dead straight and would usually need a strong clay to hold my hair and even then it tends to loose its form. With the boost powder my hair stays exactly how I place it and I can style it how I want. The best thing is that I can change the style throughout the day if I want and that unlike with wax or clay, one gets a natural high look and not shiny or a gel look. I've used this product for almost a year now and it's … beyond wonderful. I have rather long curly hair and it adds lift and fullness to the crown and frontal areas of my hair which is often pulled a bit flat by the weight of my hair. I've let several friends use some of mine. Their hair was thinning due to their normal hair loss with aging. Both loved it and proceeded to purchase it for themselves. I love American crew products, and this fiber cream is by far my favorite of the line now. This product is not a thick cream, doesn’t dry, flake, or become hard, or greasy. A softer more moldable cream version of fiber for those who used it long ago. A very small amount in towel dry hair. My hair is about 3 inches and works great. A true medium hold. Y’know, these hair products are varied and it takes time and trials to find just the right product for you. This product works great for me. My hair is very fine but very dense. By that I mean each hair is silky and fine but there are tons of them. The liquid version of this is good too but gives a firmer result. I often combine them a bit. A little, like dime-sized dollop works great on my relatively short haircut. Not very expensive and it works well for me. I hope it works the same for you!DC

I used to love this product and I've used it for years. Like another customer review on here, I also think the product has changed and for the worse, unfortunately. The other review was from the UK, but I'm in the USA and I'm seeing a change as well. I've tried two different retailers and both purchases had the same quality issues. It used to be more solid to the touch and now it is much more gooey. It doesn't hold my hairstyle nearly as well as it used to. I was debating between one or two stars but decided on 1 as I would not recommend this anymore and there are better fibers out there.Sean

I have been a user of the red DAX wax for many many years and have tried so many different hair products and have always gone back to DAX because it seems to be the best hold for my hair. But, I live in Dubai and during the summer months temperatures can reach 50c so DAX being a wax gets very soft in the heat. I tried using gels but because my hair has a slight curl to it the gel doesnt pull and hold my hair straight like DAX does. Another problem with DAX, being petroleum based they have recently changed the smell of it so its starting to smell like engine oil So, I have hunted high and low for a water based product that stays firm in the heat, washes out easily and also one that smells great….. FINALLY… for me.. a product that does what it says on the tin This really is like putting wax in your hair, with the same hold as gel…. and washes out easily. My only tip is to make sure your hair is almost dry and it works better then probably not getting watered down. My boyfriend's hair dresser uses this on his hair and he loves it, but does not like to pay the higher amount for this product. As a girl, I know that you get what you pay for when it comes to hair care and hair services. I spend a great amount on getting my hair cut and colored and therefore will spend a great amount on great hair products to keep it healthy and maintain the color. My boyfriend always buys a different brand that is less expensive and I swear he uses more of the product just to get the desired look he gets from just a small amount of this product – but I can't convince him so he continues to buy a product he is not as happy with. This is a review for other Asians who have difficult hair, not the hair models that could make anything work. The product doesn't work well for the average thick Asian hair if you plan to style it against the natural direction your hair grows (e.g. styling your hair back for typical disconnected undercuts, etc.). The hold just isn't strong enough by itself. I want to start this review by stating that unless a product significantly impresses me, I do not give out a perfect score or rating. With that being said, this is by far the best hair styling product I have ever used. I have been styling my hair with a short, spiked (messy) look for about 5 years. I have relatively thin black hair with not much volume. My hair is long up top with short sides. If I don't put anything in my hair my hair is flat and boring. I've used many hair products to help compensate for my lack of volume. From gel to pomade and even just conditioner, nothing really helped. If I do use product, it seems to wear out easily and won't keep my hairdo I've spent so much time on. I thought I found the right product in the American Crew line, but when I tried this Clay pomade by Baxter, I've never touched anything else. The product itself smells great and can easily be washed out of your hands and hair. It also is kept in a great quality glass container. I like the matte look from this clay pomade and helped keep my hair up throughout the day. I've gotten many compliments on how my hair looks and smells. I take a shower every morning and do my hair, even if I don't go out, because otherwise my hair would annoy the F*** out me and just hang over my face. I usually style after I've changed and towel dried my hair. I find it easier to style when my hair is a little wet, but not damp. If my hair has dried up already, I can just run my hands through the water and shake it around my hair to moisten it up. I like my hair more natural looking and I usually just use my fingers to run my hair back to a more casual and natural comb back style. A little goes a long way. I can run my fingers through my hair throughout the day and still keep the shape I want. I can't do that with anything else. My hair keeps the volume I want and actually keeps it up the whole day. Love the packaging, and the smell is decent. It gives you a decent amount of hold to your hair. You can also use it on Demi wet hair to achieve a soft hold with glossy look. Definitely recommend.TLlovesit
