A few things to improve on for Hayward.. 1. Despite trying all adjustments unit does tend to dwell in corners for reasonably long periods (eventually moves itself however) 2. Pool coverage is average, appears to track a similar pattern often despite so called programmed ability so this does not happen? 3. I would recommend including a hose/unit weight as an addition. Previous units I have had include a weight fitted to the closest hose to the vac – assists in keeping it grounded. * Be helpful I feel as the unit does do a bit of side tipping in the beveled corners, and not sticking to floor surface here and there (Tried all three flap adjustments – no different) 4. Should include a hose adaptor or two in differing sizes as the supplied hose would not connect directly to my skimmer plate hole, nor does the regulator valve supplied fit it either. (Too small for hole, perhaps as its made for America not Australia?) 5. Finally, I have a fiberglass pool with rounded floor to wall corners as pictured in the manual.. sorry guys it won't climb at all on any setting.. Fortunately I do not require this function. Not knowing anything about pool cleaners I feel I did a good job comparing many models on line. I was very impressed with the features and comments about the Maytronics Dolphin E30. Our pool is 19×38 feet vinyl lined and I have never used a cleaner, so first time using a cleaner. My disappointment is an area of the pool is never cleaned. If the cleaner is placed mid length of the pool an area in the deep end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the deep end an area in the shallow end is not cleaned. If I place the cleaner in the shallow end an area in the deep end is not cleaned. At the end of the 3 hour cycle there are always a few leaves left in the pool. I've been buying and using rechargeable above ground pool vacuums for the past 5 years. I bought the Dolphin E10 about a month ago and realized I should have bought it sooner. I didn't want to spend the money but it's well worth it. It's absolutely wonderful! I pride myself on keeping my pool clean but since using the Dolphin E10, my pool has been absolutely crystal clean. I purchased the entire package of the Dolphin Premier, including the caddy. This is an excellent product. All the reviews I read on it were exactly as described. The cleaning quality is remarkable. I couldn't clean the pool as good. It is a little pricey but in the long run I think it will be worth the cost. There does need to be a more detailed manual and I don't use the remote. The vacuum is easy to put together and charges easily. I have an above ground pool, and this works well to get out bugs, leaves, and other bigger objects. Unfortunately, it is NOT good at picking up the sand/silt that settles on the bottom of the pool. I bought a pool vacuum hose and a vacuum head to use the siphoning method to clean the bottom of my pool which works much better. I very rarely even use this vacuum and wish i would have returned it earlier to save the money. I would recommend this for pools that get a lot of leaves frequently for a quick clean up.Melissa D.
What a piece of JUNK!!!!!!!! It lasted only 3 months with once a week usage. Took 2 months to get then to refuse to take it back. Thats right. They get so many returns they now send you a replacement battery/motor that you reinstall yourself. That only lasted 3 more uses. They said I would get a ONE TIME ONLY replacement battery/motor. We bought this a few days ago because my pool was in need of a major cleaning!! I'm not sure why the other persons review was so bad, but it works great for me! I have to leave a review because theirs almost discouraged me from getting one!! Agreed that the instructions weren't the best, and that's why it didn't get 5 stars, but if you hook it up right it gets the job done! It needs more protection on the ends where it hits the side of the pool. I had a tear in my liner where the brace is and exactly where the cleaner bumps it. I do love how well it cleans the bottom of the pool and saves me tons of work. It needs a rubber bumper to reduce the impact on the liner. Still and excellent product. My only complaint is with the hose, I had to buy a nipple to connect the 2 sections together so it would reach across the pool. Other than that it does a great job.timid8er

The pool was built when we moved in and little did we know that our neighbors pine tree would dump thousands of needles during the summer into the pool and would spend so much wasted time scooping it out. After 3 years wife and I were fed up and looked into maybe installing another skimmer (previous owners only built one). We went with this and are pleasantly surprised! The pros: It comes ready right out of the box and since its solar, no recharging and goes from day to night and gets everything from the needles, to leaves, to little bugs. Super easy to clean and needs very little maintenance. I do take it out once in awhile and hose it down and when the kids are swimming as I dont want them breaking it. It has been running non-stop since I got it two weeks ago and its going strong. Has a remote so can control it when its too far out of reach. There are some cons though: It does get stuck in the skimmer a few times but its easy to move either by remote or push it out of the way. Once the pool returns turn on it sometimes doesnt have enough power to reach that side. It would mainly stay on the deep end. For me its ok because I figure the jets would push the debris that way anyway. I wouldn't recommend running a robot vacuum at the same time as it can get caught in the floating cord. I did run them both once and the cord blocked the paddles that it uses to get the debris. Otherwise, I think this is a great investment for pools with one skimmer and those that get alot of top debris in the pool and dont want to waste time skimming it manually.
BUY THIS PRODUCT! I can't say enough good things about the robot or the company. First, it works exactly as it should and is so simple to operate. I have never used the remote, though the instructions seemed pretty easy to follow. I just put it in the pool and turn it on (push 1 button). It runs itself without my intervention more than once every few days unless it's leaf drop season which may require a little more frequent basket empty. The basket empty is ridiculously simple; turn it off, open latch, lift basket out and then invert to empty, tap, return basket to it's place, close latch, push button to turn back on…15 seconds tops. This thing works so well both my pool guy and my geriatric parents love it, can operate without instructions or assistance and missed it when it was out of commission. That brings me to my next reason to love the Betta: the company actually stands behind it's product! We used the robot pretty much around the clock from the day we received it…rolling around the pool all day and night for 6 months. Sometime in the Fall I noticed it wasn't operating normally and upon inspection one of the propellers wasn't spinning freely and to my laymen's eyes it appeared some corrosion build up had affected the propeller attachment. We have a salt water pool and while nothing in the materials referred to this as a contraindication I surmised the salt and the metal/solar electric had caused a reaction of some type building up calcifications. I did my best to clear the issue but never found adequate improvement for the propeller to function normally again. So our entire household (and our pool guy) mourned the loss of the Betta as it was put aside. I briefly contemplated buying another because I liked it so much, but as the same thing was likely to happen again, I decided and annual $500 investment wasn't my best option. Fast-forward to April when I realized through cleaning out manuals that the Betta had a 1 year warranty (and I was 1-2 weeks shy of the year purchase date) so I decide to contact the company to see if they would respond. To my shock and complete admiration, they didn't hesitate, just sent me paid shipping information and instructions to return it as well as an estimate of time and instructions on tracking it's return! I could not believe how great their service was and that would have been enough as I expected the robot might be beyond help. In just a few weeks I had received confirmation the robot was received, fixed and being return and I now have it BACK IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER and cleaning just as before without being charged a dime or given ANY pushback as to responsibility. UNBELIEVEABLE! I have since noted there is a Betta 2.0 that refers to salt pools so I imagine they may have discovered there was some unanticipated salt pool interaction with the Betta original and they've corrected the design in the updated model. If I lose this one I will most certainly be buying a Betta 2.0. So if you have a Chlorine pool don't bat an eyelash, but if you have Salt just get the 2.0! You will not regret this purchase.
I honestly can't heap enough praise on this cool little robot. I've only had it a week (so I'll update my review if problems should arise), but so far this thing is truly a game changer. Living here in Arizona with our pool surrounded by many huge Palo Verde and Mesquite trees, I was having to clean the pool with the net probably 4-5 times a day just to even attempt to keep it remotely clean. With this thing I no longer have to clean the pool AT ALL! Between this thing cleaning the surface and our Pentair robot that cleans the bottom of the pool, I have a pool that is virtually spotless. I honestly can't believe just how well this thing works. Even more so I can't believe that it took me years to finally buy one. I wish I had bought one from day one. This thing is above and beyond a must have for anyone with a pool that is constantly getting debris in it. It's easy to clean, 100% solar powered, and there is no setup required. Just put it in the pool, turn it on, and just like a Roomba it does it's job all on it's own. All you ever have to do is empty the basket every several days. If you have a pool and you don't have one of these, you have no idea what you'e missing out on. This will save you so much time cleaning your pool that it's absolutely worth every penny.

I have owned two of these machines the first one lasted 3 years. My last one made it 4 years. These machines are built too fail. My first one was a joke i thought it was a lemon from the beginning, It would not clean my pool I would put it in the pool push the button and 5 minutes later the read out would start flashing at the exclamation mark. I took it out of the turned it upside down and the flashing would stop. Then it started to loose a track at every use, then after about 2 months the left wheel stoped rotating. I took it in for repair and the cost of the single motor installed was over $800.00? So I bought a second machine within a year of use the power cord started to come apart at the plug, then broke off completely the following year. Out of warranty by 2 months. $150.00 for a new cord. last year my robot started just circling around on the deep end of the pool then just stopped moving. I took it in for repair and was presented with another $ 850.00 bill. So let's reflect $900.00 for the first machine then another $950.00 then $150.00. So I spent $2000.00 dollars on pool cleaners for 5 seasons of use. I could have paid a pool guy to clean my pool for less…james p.
I don’t write reviews but I had to for this one. I purchased this pool cleaner about 3 years ago. Yes it’s been a great cleaner and a time saver. However, into our 3rd summer we have noticed that is stops mid-cycle and quits working. We give it a little push and it starts back up. After doing this several days we decided to take it into Leslie’s to have it services. Due to it being out of warranty we were prepared to pay what we needed, to get it working again because let’s face it, I did not want to lose my $999 investment or clean my pool manually. After 3 weeks of it being at the Leslie’s store I decided to go check on it (never received a phone call or update). The service person told me they ran my machine and found nothing wrong and had to place a phone call to their “repair” company a week prior and had not received a return call. I asked if they had tried calling back and he said no. He told me to take machine back home and try it out again because they found nothing wrong with it, so I did. After a week of running to machine and having it continue to stop mid-cycle, I called Leslie’s back and same service person told me to bring it in and to “remind him” to call the service company again. This is the worse service, and having spent thousands of dollars in this store is very disappointing. I’m sure my machine will sit there another 3 weeks before I have to go check on it again. I gave this 2 stars for the two good years we got out of it. Now it’s on to cleaning my pool manually until I find another machine from a different location. Good luck to everyone else.Patty G.
First time pool owner so I thought I'd make it easy on myself and buy a robotic cleaner. I did the research and because of the many positive reviews I purchased the Polaris P825 back in 2018. And in the beginning it was great! Just put it in and let it do all the work. Fast forward to 2021. Had put the Polaris in my in ground pool and walked away. Came back about 1 hour later and it had stop. And a good portion of the pool floor looked like it wasn't touched. I looked at the control panel and it was dark. So I pressed the power button, lights came on and I started the Polaris again but this time the lights stayed lit for only a few seconds and went dark again. After several more attempts I brought in to Leslie's to be checked out. Several days later I received a call from them stating that the gear box and the electrical cord were both bad. The cost of repairs would just almost equal buying a new one. This cost me over $900 dollars and I only get 3 years worth of use? This is why I cannot recommend the purchase of the P825. I finally got so frustrated I bought the upgraded design of the original. The moment I started it up it acted perfectly – just like the old model. Unfortunately, this product just didn't work out for. I owned the zodiac G2 for ten 10 years and never had problems keeping it down and balanced. It would travel up walls and along the entire perimeter of the pool. This kreepy Krauly will not stay balanced or travel evenly throughout the pool. I've tried numerous adjustments with the weights provided with this unit. I'm disappointed and unimpressed by its performance. I wanted to wait until I had used this a few times before writing a review because I had previously purchased a knock off of this product that was an utter disappointment and I returned it. The Pentair Kreepy Krauly worked right out of the box but it has taken me a few times of using it to adjust it ***.so it's perfect. I live in Florida and only use it once a week because I have a screened in pool which is about 22 ft. in length and my pool does not get dirty. I also do not get leaves in my pool because of the screened enclosure. I brush the walls and steps before using the unit. I am really a novice at this and I found that I had to add one more length of hose than the manufacturer recommended to get it to go into the far corner of my pool between my steps and my raised spa. At first it would get caught in that very tight space between the steps and the spa (and I considered removing that extra hose length to remedy it), but instead I turned "up" the water flow attachment speed to "faster" (about a quarter of turn), gave it a few minutes… and then it figured out how to get out of that spot in a short amount of time. I also had to adjust the water flow attachment a number of other times, but only a quarter turn at a time to get it just right so the cleaner did not get stuck on the main drain (turn back the water flow attachment to "slower", which lessens the amount of suction so the cleaner and the main drain don't just keep sucking each other together). My suggestion is when you first set up this unit to set the water flow attachment in the middle between Faster and Slower which I think would eliminate a lot of the adjustments I had to make… and then make your adjustments from there . You could also close your Main drain to accomplish keeping the cleaner from getting stuck on the main drain.. I have also adjusted the singular weight I have on the hose (I only require one weight for my length of pool) so the weight is now closer to the cleaner (maybe 8 inches from the unit) to prevent it from tipping backwards after coming off a wall. You just have to play with all these different things… a little trial and error. After these adjustments, today it worked perfectly. It cleans the pool, climbs the walls and doesn't get stuck in corners or on the main drain. It takes some patience and small adjustments until you get it right but then it does an excellent job of cleaning the pool. I think any pool cleaner you might buy will require adjustments. My pool is spotless and it only takes about 3 hours. After I use it, I wash down my hoses to get the chlorine off, both inside and out, as well as washing down the cleaner itself both inside and out which should prolong the life of the unit. I store it in a pool box (detaching all the hoses which should be laid straight) to protect everything). I highly recommend this unit. Hope this is of some help.M. A.

Assembled according to diagram with weight positioned 1-1/2 lengths back from sweeper end. Two extra lengths added beyond longest stretch in pool. Worked right away and remains flat and balanced throughout. Even climbs the sides of the pool to the water line. Doesn't cover stairs or ledge as expected.Moves fairly quick at 2800 rpm. But even more impressive is that it is still moving at 1800 and 1500 rpm on my 1-1/2 hp variable speed motor. I'm using a dedicated pool vac line that is connected to the filter basket skimmer underground, so I leave a rubber cork in center of skimmer lid to divert all suction to that line. If I pull the cork, of course the sweeper will not run and it will skim instead. That's how my system normally works.Just finished resurfacing pool with mini pebble Tec finish and this has swept it clean since all chemicals were balanced and pool is looking sharp!You will notice in video how the hose line oscillates back and forth as the diaphragm pumps. This is normal and only makes a slight thumping noise that is not bothersome at all. It does make the pool water look shaky like there's a lot of wind, but not an issue.Great replacement for my age old Hayward Pool Vac and I don't have to change expensive parts every year. I’m not trashing the product because by reviews it seems to work for some. In my situation I could never get it to be satisfactory. Regardless of how I adjusted weight placement, return outlet directions, main and skimmer valves I couldn’t get it to do everything the way it should. Example: in my system I can’t restrict the main drain suction enough without it cutting sufficient flow to the pump to keep it from frequently getting stuck on the main drain. Unfortunately once you try it you own it. Also, if you have to hook it up through the skimmer, you no longer skim floating bugs or debris. For me it’s way easier and less frustrating to spend a half hour brushing and vacuuming once every week or so, and I don’t have to look at it or swim around it.David Eckert
Bought this a replacement for a six year old unit. We have a 16000gal 16 x 34 inground with 1/2 being 8ft deep. Cleans bottom and sides well if we keep the suction balanced at the pump diverted valve. Very easy to assemble. Main part that wears is the diaphragm tube. Easily replaced and relatively inexpensive. Have found the cheap, Chinese knockoffs to be worthless.terrance6

The cleaner is a great vacuum, it has suction and easily picks up all the dirt and leaves in our pool. However, there are several issues that make this $600+ purchase a big regret.If you have a ladder as opposed to stairs, the cleaner will wrap itself around them repeatedly; strangling itself until there is no cord left (see photo). There is no way to untangle it from outside of the pool. I find that I have to get in and push the cord to the bottom of the pool, lift the ladder and free the vacuum. I tried putting gallon jugs filled with sand behind the stairs but the vacuum is so strong that it just pushes them out of the way or climbs right over them. Apparently I will now have to spend another $300 on new stairs that it can’t get behind.Another negative is that it is very heavy to lift out of the pool. When it is filled with water it is easily 25 pounds. It also has a power supply on it with a timer so in theory you could just leave the robot in the pool and have it automatically run every few days. The problem is that the power supply is only water resistant and if left out in the rain, water will destroy it. A replacement power supply is $250. So if you do not have a covered area near your pool you will need to build some type of housing to keep it out of the elements, or you can’t utilize this feature. Since I have nowhere to keep it dry I either lug the beast out of the pool when it is finished and find somewhere to store it or detach the power supply and take it inside, leaving the robot in the pool until I need to empty the basket. I have no idea if that’s bad for it or not but lifting it out is a pain especially for someone with a bad back.I really wish I had done more research before I bought it!UPDATE: The belt on one side also comes off at least once per cleaning cycle. I’ve used it less than a dozen times so it can’t be worn out. This is junk and I honestly hate it. I could have purchased 5 Aquabugs for this price. The last one I had lasted 5 years with no issues. Used for one summer. Very easy to setup and use. Takes about 2 hours to clean the 12'x25' pool. Does an 80/20 job. If you want a perfect cleaning, do it yourself.Biggest challenge so far is with the controller. The plastic pieces between the faceplate and the switches on the control board are loose. If the controller is moved too much then they fall out of place and the buttons stop working. I then have to open the controller up and reposition the plastic pieces to re-establish the connection between the faceplate and switches on the board.2nd challenge is with the shape of my pool. It is a fiberglass pool with integrated seating. I have to put buckets into two of the seats to prevent the cleaner from going into them. If I don't it climbs into the seats and can't get back out. It also can't handle the shape of the stairs so avoids them. Oddly shaped pool owners beware.A consideration is that you should not rest the cleaner on the scrubbing brushes. Therefore you'll need to figure a way to store it, supported only in the middle if you are not willing to shell out the cash for the carrying caddy.Summary – It's a pool cleaner. It does the job(ish). I'm sure I could have paid less and gotten the same level of performance and possibly without the challenges with the controller or getting stuck.Kailorbas
After 20+ years of cleaning the pool myself, I decided to spring for a robotic vacuum system. I researched all the different brands, and decided that the Dolphin brand was well respected and consistently got high reviews. I have a couple issues that kept me from giving a five star review. First, it's not great at climbing the walls. Sometimes when it goes up to the waterline, it will just lose its grip (suction?), and fall to the bottom of the pool. Also, it sometimes will lose suction while reversing directions, and will start to float up slightly. This causes it to miss debris at times. If I was going to purchase again, I would have bought the next model up. For that additional $125, I would have had a system that "remembers" the shape of my pool. The CC model has to relearn the shape every time it is used. Also, the debris filter/basket often gets "stuck" in the robot if there is sand in the pool. More than once, I have had to use the hose to spray out the robot before I am able to remove the basket. As the owner of an older Gunite pool, I find that the amount of sand that is in the pool to be higher than could be expected for a newer Gunite pool, or a liner or Fiberglas pool.Peter T.
