20 Best Summer Moisturizer For Combination Skin (Feb 2023 Update)

Okay so it took me a bit to realize you shouldn’t be using this as the last step of moisturizing unless your skin is very oily. This is meant to provide moisture not retain and keep it in like most moisturizers. Which is fine because the effect when I use it more like a serum is amazing!! Plump and a glass skin like texture that looks hydrated without being oily! It also smells legitimately like a watermelon unlike most artificial scents. I like that it comes in a nice glass bottle and have already purchased again in various sizes after I received it as a gift the first time. I will say it is quite overpriced due to the amount you get and how much you can go through but the product itself is worth it so I took off one star. This is my to go when I want my skin to look amazing. Overall, holy grail for glass skin and authentic watermelon smell yet is quite pricy.violet.s

For context, I've been using this moisturizer all summer. I purchased the mini watermelon moisturizer and have used almost the entire bottle. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and I had tried different creams and such to bring moisture back to my skin but nothing was really working. I use 1-1.5 pumps of this moisturizer twice daily and it has made a huge difference in my skin texture. Before I had patches of dryness which affected my foundation application but not anymore. Yes it's a gel moisturizer so it's not a heavy moisturizer but it does compliment other products, NO pilling when used with other products and my skin is more glowy now! Highly recommend I will be repurchasing once I run out and will be trying other Glow Recipe products.MSeymour

Love the smell and that its very light weight, almost like a serum. I have oily skin most of the time (sometimes combo) but last year for a short time I suddenly had dry flaky & itchy skin patches and found out I suffered from skin dermatitis. Being sensitive to a lot of ingredients, I started researching skin care products & their list of ingredients to find something more natural and safer for my skin. This hit the mark, so I ordered from Sephora to try it out. This is fantastic that it doesn't make me oilier or feeling greasy on my oily days ( a little drop, 1 to 2 pumps goes a long way). I honestly use it as a serum most of the time for my nighttime routine, as it's so lightweight, I can add a moisturizer over it without getting greasy. I really feel like it gives me a nice brighter & naturally light from within kinda glow to my skin, without feeling like my skin is too dewy/shiny (being that I usually have oily or combo skin, I don't want added shine, so this is just perfect!) and it helps soften my skin too. I can't say it reduces redness though (at first I felt like it did, but not so much anymore, but for the smell, the moisturizing/softness, brightness and glow, I do love this!) As for that dermatitis issue of severe dryness I was having when I started with this product, within a week it went away with this serum! Full disclosure I was entirely prepared to hate this and give it a bad review as it wouldn’t work for me like most others didn’t but I’m so glad I was proved wrong. I’m someone who is sooo picky when it comes to moisturizers because I always hated how thick and oily they felt on my skin. While I do have combination leaning oily skin I was a bit apprehensive on its claims but I truly 100% am loving this. It is super lightweight which is something I always try to find in any moisturizer because I need for it to be lifht right AND effective. It sinks into your skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling wet at all. Makes true on its fragrance free promise bc i can’t smell a thing and my skins gotten a bit more sensitive as I got older so that’s great! I’ve been wearing it as my moisturizer under my makeup and I really like how it feels. First impression when unboxing: The box and bottle are the same as the traditional packaging, simple, effective, pleasing to the eye. I opened the flip cap and took a whiff, there’s a light scent that reminds me of tanning lotion/sunscreen (kind of like that cooking bacon-esque scent). I read other reviews saying that a little goes a long way so I squeezed out a pea sized amount. The formula is super light, and is a water gel consistency (which made me nervous for the mattifying factor). I started with the back of my hand to see a comparison. A little definitely went a long way, and traveled up my entire forearm. I compared my hands and the hand with the product was significantly less shiny, and all of the cracks (it’s cold and dry where I am at the moment) were blurred. I tried it on my face and it definitely mattified my oily areas, but I wasn’t sure how hydrated I was. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It wasn’t greasy and didn’t leave behind a film, but at the touch it felt like I didn’t have anything on and felt like I needed to reapply. When I did reapply though, it felt like I overused product so it definitely achieved its claim to fame. It’s not my holy grail but I’ll definitely use the whole tube especially since it didn’t break out my sensitive/acne prone skin.julia.s

I'm not particularly wowed by this product, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I do think this moisturizer lives up to its claims – matte finish, good for oily/combo skin types. My skin used to run on the oily side until I really got into skincare. Now my skin is more normal, though still acne prone.I've been using this moisturizer daily, AM PM. it does the job, but I don't mind a more hydrated look, hell, even feeling more hydrated would be nice too – something I'm not really getting with this moisturizer. If you like a more matte moisturizer, then this one is for you. Texture reminds me of a gel-cream, so not the sticky jelly texture like some gel moisturizers.The design of the cap also isnt the best. one of the two attachments broke after only 2 uses. they're too wide set apart from each other compared to other squeeze tubes that I use. The texture is amazing and feels heavenly, it's like a whipped cream. And is quite heavy (in a good way). But unfortunately, it irritated the sensitive parts of my face, but then again my skin is pretty reactive. Maybe I used too much? (I used two pea sizes.) I love this moisturizer! I came across it on a YouTube video while looking for hydrating moisturizers. I have combination skin and my skin feels so hydrated after using this. It’s important to note that I pair this with the Laniege hyaluronic revitalizing toner which is also very hydrating. I also use an exfoliating cleanser, Paula’s Choice vitamin C serum and Innisfree sunscreen during the day. I use the moisturizer at night as well with other products. Love the combo! i love this moisturizer for various reasons. on top of having amazing ingredients, this is one of two moisturizers that work perfectly with my combo skin– providing sufficient hydration to moisturize the dry parts but also being light enough to not turn my t-zone into an oil slick. this is also an all-year-rounder for me, being perfect for all seasons. can't really ask for much more than that. to address all the reviews that stated it burned, this product does contain lactic & citric acid which are AHAs and are meant to help exfoliate the skin for a soft & supple look, on top of helping to fade any pigmentation or scarring. if you are new to chemical exfoliants, i can imagine that you will feel this. for the aficionados, you likely won't feel a thing. side note: even though i am constantly burning the skin on my face off, i do get some strange tingling/numbing sensation within the first minute of application if i haven't used it for a while. i disregard this as it goes away and nothing bad has ever happened.kn24

I got this moisturizer because it's one of the only brands with good EWG scores. I wasn't expecting much because on the whole I don't think clean beauty delivers as good results as regular skincare, but this surpassed my expectations in every way! I have rosacea and quite sensitive, very dry skin. Despite this, I hate creamy creams so I'm always looking for a gel moisturizer that still packs a punch. I've been using this throughout the Chicago winters (harsh winds and dry heating) and my skin has stayed dewy and plump. I would never normally apply a moisturizer without cleansing my skin first, but on my laziest days I felt I could apply this just throughout the day because it's non irritating and would never break me out. My skin used to be so dry it would get tiny bumps all over as a coping mechanism / to hold onto moisture and they've completely gone since using this product. This also doesn't pill no matter what I put underneath. I've used different vitamin c serums, acids (lactic, Glycolic etc), different hydrating serums and different eye serums all together (like 5 layers) and it has never pilled! Some clean products don't hold up well over time, but travelled to Brazil with hot temperatures and dipped my fingers in here at the gym, in the airpirt and different hotels over the course of 4 months and the color, consistency, smell and efficacy is the same as when I first opened it. That said, everyone’s skin is different so this could work for you one of the great things about Biossance is that they use recyclable packaging, which is always a plus when purchasing beauty products. The new formula ruined this moisturizer for me. I had a subscription and was obsessed with the original formula. The smell was the most amazing and refreshing scent. I always felt like I was transported to a tropical island, and applying it was my favorite part of my skincare routine. The scent just lifted me up and relaxed me. Now, the new formula has zero scent. The whole experience is non-existent for me as a result. The original formula also just felt better on my skin overall. I could even apply it right over and around my eye area, and never experienced any irritation. It actually helped soothe my eyes. The new formula burns! I’m so disappointed that the formula was changed so drastically. I really just hate this moisturizer now. It’s nothing like the original, which was my holy grail and addiction for years. If you’ve ever found a moisturizer you truly love everything about, then you know the devastation of not being able to get it anymore and how hard it is to find a replacement. I’ve been an avid user for years. The formula was perfect and never broke out my sensitive skin. UNTIL they changed the formula. I just purchased a new package and to say the difference is huge is a massive understatement. Whereas previously the moisturizer perfectly absorbed into my skin and truly had the oil free dewy glow you want, the new one adds this weird layer on top of your skin that just….sits there. It’s kind of sticky like it hasn’t fully absorbed and, this sounds dramatic, but it feels like it’s clogging my pores immediately. Like when you use a bad sunscreen, or a bad lotion in a pinch, and when you sweat you can feel that layer of sweat trying to come out but can’t and it just feels gross? Yeah. That’s how it feels almost immediately and then subsequently the rest of the day. You’re just sitting there not sweating and your face can’t breath or dry feeling. It gets worse, especially if you do end up outside and sweating. Needless to say, my sensitive skin that I actually had under continuous control for almost two years now looks like a battle zone with all kinds of breakouts coming up even in areas I don’t usually get them, like my neck. Ive been waiting to review this product because I just wasnt sure about it. If I could, Id give it 3.5 stars. Let me start by saying I have very problematic skin. My skin is super dry and easily irritated. A lot of moisturizers exacerbate my skin problems. I chose this because I thought the oil free formula might give my skin the breathing room it needs. Unfortunately, the product is refreshing but not at all moisturising. If my skin is dry and I apply it, my skin still looks dry and flaky a few minutes after application. It is necessary to use another moisturizer. Luckily, the dramatically different moisturising lotion came in a grab bag I purchased at the same time and I loved it. Ended up buying a large bottles as I was burning through the 50 ml.I use a hyaluronic acid serum under my moisturizer in the evenings, and the hydrating jelly feels a lot like that product. Indeed, hyaluronic acid is one of the key ingredients. If you think of this product as a serum, then its good bang for your buck. Or, if you have oily skin, this could definitely be a good product for you. Ive also tried applying it in the morning under my tinted moisturizer which works okay. However, the jelly does leave behind a slightly sticky residue that is more noticeable when other products are added on top. LISTEN I’ve tried DOZENS of moisturizers for my greasy, oily skin and this one is one of the only ones that doesn’t leave my skin looking like my face was just soaked in oil yet still hydrates and smoothens out my pores and texture. Not sticky at all and it just feels comfortable. Other moisturizers end up feeling greasy after 1-2 hours. This one just feels so clean and absorbs soooo well into the skin. I probably have the most oily skin in the world so trust me when I say this stuff actually controls oil it’s crazy. My skin is olive/tan with hyperpigmentation, acne scars from years ago, large pores, and horomonal acne…the most difficult skin to deal with especially around my period because I get a lot of hormonal breakouts (white heads and cysts). Trust me this stuff is amazing. Just for reference other moisturizers that have also worked for me are the neutrogena hydroboost gel and the drunk elephant peptide something. I have really oily skin and this moisturizing gel works for me. I was hesitant to try Clinique moisturizer again after having a horrible experience with the original lotion a few years ago (I broke out so badly I actually have a few small scars and bumps to this day). But this is very different from the lotion IMO. The gel texture is light and refreshing and doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin; also totally unscented. It’s not mattifying exactly but it doesn’t make extra shine. When I wake up my skin looks and feels soft, not super greasy like most night creams I have tried. I use the Sephora mattifying moisturizer on my face during the day and use this gel on my neck and the two small dry patches I have on my chin. So far this routine is working well for me and I’m really happy with it. I would recommend for oily skin, this comes in a small tube if you just want to try it out.sparkledragon

I pretty much always have some redness on my forehead and cheeks and this morning (after using this product for four days) I woke up and thought wow did I fall asleep with my makeup on?? Because my skin looked like one color with BARELY any redness! Absolutely amazing! I must admit I have also been eating very clean and drinking lots of water the last few days so that could also be a reason, but I have no doubt this product helped! I heard about this product from Dr Dray on YouTube (who I highly recommend watching for skincare advice!) and she said this product is very similar, if not the same, as the sensitive night cream from this same line, so I have been using this product every night after washing my face at night the last four days and I am very happy with the results! I ordered the SensitiveCalming day lotion with Aloe and received the Sensitive DailyMoisturizing cream with Cottton extract. I loved the old formula. It was such a light texture that allowed my skin to breathe. It got rid of the redness and oilyness of my eczema/rosacea/acne prone skin. My skin never looked so clear. The new formula, with the cotton removed, does not give the same results though. It's also now a horrible, thick, greasy, suffocating texture. As someone with extremely sensitive skin, it's devastating to have to try new products and brands now.Lynnsey

I bought this to have a smaller sized everyday moisturiser yet there are so many flaws with this cream. Firstly, it smells and looks exactly like sorbolene cream. It reminds me of playing with my grandmas skin creams in the 90’s, the smell, the texture. Secondly, I exfoliate, cleanse, tone then moisturise. This doesn’t at all soak into my skin and when rubbed in it turns white and basically stays like that, then dries and leaves a sticky feeling. I'm very pleased with this moisturizer; it's lightweight and has absolutely no smell. It's more of a gel consistency than your average cream/lotion/moisturizer. I am still trying to get my ratio correct, I notice if I start at my cheeks and move inward, I am have the least amount of oils after a few hours- but if I start at the nose or forehead and work outwards, I tend to have a more oily T-zone (I also wear glasses 24.7)- But even still, I'm VERY pleased with the results; the oil I DO get isn't near the amount i would normally, so this is an improvement! The oil free moisturizer is good but packaging is defective. The cap nozzle is defective. Whenever I squeezed it the moisturizer comes out through and the area between the nozzle and the cap. Therefore moisturizer is being wasted because too much is coming out at once.Neneita Y.

I've decided I really like this moisturizer. It feels almost like a light gel moisturizer, and seems to sit on the skin more than other moisturizers I've used. I feel like my skin is protected this way and it is a nice light layer between my skin and makeup. And when I don't wear makeup, it is absorbed enough so that my skin looks hydrated but is still protected. I bought this because I was using the Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream, and I was looking for alternatives to that. I came across Hyram's video about the Dr. Jart products, and then found out that Hyram now has his own skincare line. In the video, I also learned that essential oils can be harmful to your skin just like how general "fragrance" is harmful. It seemed like Hyram has done lots of research and is very knowledgeable of different skincare ingredients. I'm glad I tried this. I have very sensitive, dry skin and usually, foundation doesn't work with my skin very well. First of all how bad can you rate a product that helps the world around it? Honestly. I cannot explain how much I love this product and how much I wish I could buy more of it. I remember reading reviews saying that if you have dry skin then you should consider looking somewhere else, and let me tell you that is bull! I have combination skin, but I do often get flare-ups of eczema on my face. Never in my life have I had a product that was able to keep my skin moisturized and not oily at the same time. Bought this on a whim while on sale, not expecting much at all… I was shocked to find it controlling shine in my oil-slick of a T-zone, while simultaneously hydrating enough to prevent settling/breakdown in my under eye area. Absorbs quickly and doesn’t pill if over-applied (I run late often and in my haste have been known to overdue it). But this was definitely a win for me! Side note: after reading other reviews I was so confused by the comments regarding the scent. I made a point of checking mine as I applied, and then again rubbed into the back of my hand. I have never used any product from this brand and this one sadly is a NO for me. PROS: – It doesn’t leave a white cast. – Hydrating cream, with a nice texture (not too thin, not too thick) – It has glycerin,squalane and hyaluronic acid which are great hydrators. – It smells very good. I like scented formulas although it is not necessary. – Clean at Sephora CONS: – This cream doesn’t work with my skincare. It peels. This is a problem for me because I am not going to stop using my skincare, focused on anti-aging, to use this sunscreen. I would use another one on my face and leave this one for my arms. – It is a chemical sunscreen. I don’t have sensitive skin so I can use it but I can’t apply it around my eyes because it makes me tear up and I want sunscreen on that area because it is the most delicate. – If you apply the recommended amount for any sunscreen to be effective at the advertised SPF (1 teaspoon for the face), your will end up with a greasy looking face. It may have been part of the reason for the sunscreen to peel on me. – It has a lot of silicons, which I suspect are another reason for this cream not to work with my skincare. – It has a couple of essential oils. They give the cream a nice minty citrusy smell that I love but it is not necessary. They may be irritating for some so they should just not add them as they don’t provide any sun protection benefits. – I find it a little pricey. I’m sorry that this is a little long but I want to do this product justice because it’s worth it (and I’m a babbler). I have been struggling with dry, sensitive skin for many years now. My skin is dry year round because I just do not produce very much oil. I have spent so much money on expensive skincare trying to find a moisturizer that will work with no luck. I can’t even use Cerave on my face because something in it irritates me. I had recently purchased one of those Sephora $10 deluxe sample bags and realized this was one of the products included in it so I decided to browse the reviews here and they convinced me to try it. No joke, the very first time I put this on my face the heavens opened up and angels started singing! Well, ok that didn’t happen but you get the picture! Immediately my face felt more hydrated than it has for a good 20 years now. I immediately ordered a bigger jar. Not once has this made my sensitive skin sting, even when applying it after I dermaplane with a surgical 10 blade. The instant and long term effects have been nothing short of amazing. I have not had dry patches on my face at all. That in itself is crazy. It plays well with my tretinoin when others make it pill, It absorbs fast enough to be used morning and night, it works wonders with my moringa oil and I have recently added polyglutamic acid with no problems as well. It could be the squalene in it that my skin has needed all these years, not sure, but I cannot believe I waited this long to try this miracle moisturizer. If you have also struggled with dry skin for a long time, I highly recommend giving this moisturizer a try. The texture itself is wonderfully light and non sticky which makes you wonder how on earth it is so moisturizing but it really is. I am a 52 year old woman that has always used Neutrogena and never used Aveeno products in the past. Well it was time to buy more moisturizer and I decided to go with the Positively Radiant Daily Face Moisturizer. I figured Jennifer Aniston promotes it and she looks good, so I decided I will give it a try. Here is a little background of myself. I am a Registered Nurse and must wear a surgical or a N-95 mask for 13 hours a day while at work. I never wear any type of make-up, only apply moisturizer daily. After using the Aveeno moisturizer for approximately 2 weeks I was asked by a coworker if I have had Botox recently. I was taken surprised by his comment but told him I recently changed to Aveeno. Then just one week later another co-worker said to me what I have been doing to my skin? She stated “your face looks radiant and you have no wrinkles and you are shining”. I recieved this sample size product for free via a donation to healthcare workers from Ulta. Really liked this product! The packaging is simple and you get a decent amount of product in this sample size. The moisturizer itself is very thin so be careful it doesnt drip off of your fingers, but it is not thin enough to come pouring out of the bottle. It is rose scented and, though I'm not a fan of scented products, it is very subtle and not not at all offensive. I can still smell it around me even though it's been about 20 minutes since applying it. This moisturizer leaves my skin feeling hydrated and happy and with a subtle shine that's making my skin pop even though it's the only thing I currently have on my face. Perfect for a no makeup day! I use almost exclusively Lancome products and have for decades, but had never tried this product (I tend toward their Genifique line). I bought it on an Ulta app lightning sale for 50% off, not really expecting much in comparison to my current products, but I was intrigued by the description of its scent (I adore roses). All I can say is, where have you been all my life? It feels great, and works wonderfully on my combination / mostly oily skin. Best of all, it smells so heavenly that I look forward to using it every night! A little goes a long way, too, so I definitely recommend it. The only downside (if you can even call it that) is that it doesn't come in a pump form, which is what I personally prefer (though most of their other skincare also doesn't come in a pump bottle, so that's a bit nit-picky). However, unlike my other Lancome skincare, it's not thick, so that's not an issue at all. Other than wishing they'd make a pump version, I can only say I hope they never discontinue it!Tamara

The first time I use the pore perfecting serum cream, I applied it immediately before going outside to tan because it contains SPF30. My face was extremely slick with grease once I got outside in the heat. Luckily I was just tanning to get colour and not seeing people or else I would have been very embarrassed with my appearance. I like that it is vegan, has SPF and is a serum/cream combination. Maybe it would be better for the winter because it is too greasy for the hot sunny summer for me, even though it has a light texture. I am surprised it is for oily/combination skin. There is a slight sunscreen smell and I think the greasiness I felt was also mostly from the sunscreen addition. I guess this would be good if you are going for the dewey look…but it definitely came out as greasy on me. I’ve used this sunscreen for a few months now. It takes a bit to absorb and makes me look a little greasy for a little while and has a bit of a white cast, but eventually evens it out. The only problem I’ve had with it is that it’s been pilling on my face which looks disgusting. However I do like the convenience of having a 3-in-1 and adding some extra moisture to my face. It’s also one of the only SPF’s I’ve tried that hasn’t caused me to break out. Overall, just kinda decent. Definitely some pros and cons to consider.Abbi

This is an honest review! I received a sample of this cream in the mail last spring. I loved it so much, I bought the full-sized jar from my dermatologist. I use it nightly after my retinol and serum, and I wake up every morning with dewy soft supple skin. I have had a severe health concern the past 4 years along with going through menopause which resulted in some dramatic changes to my skin and am so grateful that I found this cream. A big plus is that it doesn’t pill up after layering my products like many other creams do. I love its cooling effect on my skin too most likely from the natural herbs such as peppermint oil. I am a big skinceuticals fan and I love almost all of their products. When it comes to their products, since they have such an expansive and high quality array of products it’s more about choosing what you need based on your current skin condition. I love this product for the spring, summer, and fall because during that time of year my skin doesn’t need as much moisture and this moisturizer provides the perfect amount of moisture. During winter I usually switch to a slightly heavier moisturizer. For this moisturizer another added benefit I like is the slight sheer to it and this is coming from someone who loves a matter finish. There is something really illuminating about this moisturizer that I really enjoy. Lastly, I would say it slightly and I mean very slightly helps reduce the look of large pores but that is mainly something I notice after a month of use. I have been using Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 15 every day for many years, and my skin looks great. I worked outdoors in the Florida heat and sun, and it was the only product I could find that did not run into my eyes when I perspired, or need to be reapplied constantly over the course of my day. Other moisturizers caused me to break out, or felt like I was wearing a heavy mask. This product absorbs quickly into the skin, and it leaves my face feeling soft, fresh and hydrated. This has a runny texture, but it is quite rich and a little bit greasy. It glides on the skin really well and protects well against UV rays, even in summertime. It does break me out a little, as it never fully absorbs, but it didn't sting my eyes as many (almost all) chemical sunscreens do. I wouldn't say I looked greasy with it, it was more of a dewy shine. I've used this moisturizer for many, many years. As I've gotten older I've tried anti-aging moisturizers with active ingredients, but they are not always friendly to my dry skin. I've concluded that I will let serums add the active ingredients into my regimen, but this product effectively moisturizes, sites beautifully under makeup, and provides sunscreen. My skin absolutely loves it. I think you need dry skin to appreciate the ultra-facial moisturizer because it is a little oily at first. But it sinks into my skin beautifully after a few minutes. I have recently tried Kiehl's Ultra Facial Advanced Butter and think it was great. I have farely dry skin in the winter and tend to get eczema on my forehead. This cream was very rich and thick and creamy, which worked great to rehydrate my skin and especially helped sooth the eczema on my forehead. Within about 3 days of using on my face my dry winter skin was much healthier looking and rehydrated. The redness went away as well. I've been using this moisturizer for almost 2 years now, and besides the price point, I genuinely love how it leaves a deep dewy glow on my face other moisturizers I've tried just can't quite replicate, unless they're 4-5 times the price, and even then I find myself still reaching for this one. Over time I've seen a real difference in the dryness and lines on my forehead and crows feet around my eyes. This is from the serums I'm using too of course, not just the moisturizer, as I've been working hard at putting together a really effective skincare routine and reading lots of ingredient reviews, but I can tell this moisturizer plays a big part in the overall results I'm seeing. The other great thing here, besides it leaving my skin dewy (without being too shiny), is it seems to penetrate the deeper layers of skin as I've noticed towards the end of the day when I'm on my way home from work, my skin still feels pretty soft. I will say, the one drawback to this moisturizer is it takes about 15-20 seconds to get it to melt and blend into my skin, so you've got to be aware of this, and work it a bit as it's white cast galore at first, even on my fair skin. It doesn't instantly melt like many lotions, it does disappear with no white cast after the 15-20 seconds and getting warmer from the natural warmth of your skin. So don't give up lol – it's worth it! Recently I've discovered a fantastic hack for the longer blending time though! I decided to try out the Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% (by the Ordinary as well) as my last step before applying the moisturizer. It's an antioxidant serum with a bit of an oily finish, but not too oily. And oh wow! It makes the consistency just a tiny bit more slick to where it instantly blends, almost no initial white cast, and the finished results look even more glowy and supple. It's hard to describe other than fantastic! I sometimes find myself touching my face because I can't believe how soft it is. Yes that's mine! Also, a little goes a long way here. My most recent bottle of this stuff, the larger 3.3 oz/100mL size, lasted over a year and a half of use at frequency of ~4 days/week. You really only need just barely a pea-size amount to create ample moisture and to seal everything in my experience. It also doesn't have an unpleasant smell like some "unscented" products, it's a truly neutral scent which I appreciate as it's the last layer, besides sunscreen, and I find myself unable to use products with any strong smell on my face. I bought this product in January and now we're in July and it's still not finished! I use it 2x daily and a little goes a veryyy long way. First, I apply the Ordinary serums (HA 2% + B5, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc, and Caffeine 5%) and then the moisturizer. Together, they've done wonders to my skin. I have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis and it was SO difficult to find a clean, non-toxic and affordable moisturizer. I tried so many different brands and wasted so much money looking for just-the-perfect moisturizer and I can honestly say this is it. Knock on wood, this product works like a charm on my skin. It keeps my skin hydrated and smooth and gives it a healthy glow. It also reduces the redness from the dermatitis so it keeps my skin calm and not irritated at all. I use it on my face, neck and hands. Don't apply too much of it though. I wait a few minutes and then add an SPF cream afterwards. I have to say every time I use this my skin is screwed up for a week afterwards. I bought an entire regimen from theordinary and it just doesn't work. I'm not going to leave a review for every piece but none of them work at all. None of them are useful and all of them dry out my skin, give me a horrible texture, oiliness and mad blackheads. Almost all of them irritate my skin in some way, and I do not get that issue with any skin product I've tried in my life, no matter how cheap. I'm only going to bother reviewing this one because it's the worst one, but I honestly would recommend staying far far away from this entire line. I don't really have the same issues that others have, I have no problem warming it up in my hands, it applies evenly and the absorption is fine. I don't find it gives any type of white film. The issue is it just actively makes your skin worse. Face does not feel moisturised after usage, and then in a few hours you have oilier skin than you did as a teen. It does say it's oil free but you would never guess it from the feel of it. It kind of feels like a lube instead of a moisturiser. I'm a guy who just buys whatever is on offer so I've used many and I've never seen anything like this. Maybe I'm ignorant and this is what more expensive moisturisers are like? I genuinely feel like I must be doing something wrong, but frankly I've never needed instructions for a moisturiser and have always had better results, and if it's possible to apply a moisturiser incorrectly that's just another reason to give it 1 star tbqh. I recieved this in a ipsy bag years ago and it honestly took my forever to use because I didn't think I'd like it and I had got a full size and it honestly just took me forever to get around to trying but once I did omg I fell in love. Ive been using this now for 3 years. I call it my daytime fall/spring/summer moisturizer as I do need a thicker one at night and in the winter. It smells so nice and it a nice light whipped formula and it soaks right into my skin. I really like and enjoy this. I recommend this to people with normal to dry skin more so that oily but I dont not think its good for oily skin I just think that it may feel oily to you before it drys all the way down and that might make an oily person not like it. I say that with a bit of caution because im combination and that's how I first thought about it in my T zone when I first started using it. It doesn't take long for it to dry. I believe they must have changed packaging in the last few months. This is a daily lightweight moisturizer that doubles up as primer. Makeup applies evenly in liquid, powder and cream forms over this cream. Its faintly floral scent is barely noticeable.
