20 Best Sun Tan Lotion For Pale Skin (Feb 2023 Update)

This self tanner really works nicely! It smells good. I have used self tanners in the past, but stopped because I felt silly walking around with streaks and it being visibly evident that I used a self tanner. Not this product- no streaks- really it blends in so well! I am fair skinned and this tanner looks fabulous! How to use this self tanner: 1. Shower and exfoliate (if you don't have a scrub you can make one out of bath salts and soap or use a loofah) 2. Apply lotion to rough areas- knees, ankles, and elbows 3. Strip down- and apply – be sure to rub all over (wash hands after about 2 minutes and then continue) 4. Let it dry and relax (***don't continue to rub it while it it working- after 10 minutes of drying let it do it's magic- hands off) 5. Reapply after three hours if you'd like 6. All done… now you look great! Try not to get sunburnt- it will peel off if you do. You will see how it bends quite naturally into the areas that you didn't tan. I've been using this self tanner for a few months now (my first time using self tanners) and I havent been happy with the results. It seems like there isn't a change in my color. After reading numerous reviews however, I think I need to start applying it 2-3 times a week until I see some color. I am pretty pale and went with the medium shade but I think I will try a darker shade. I do have to mention, after reading the numerous complaints about the change in your formula, I am confused. One of the selling points for me on this specific self tanner (besides banana boat being a long time traditional product brand for me) is that there is no guide color. I did a lot of research on self tanners and when companies use a guide color it seems to transfer onto absolutely EVERYTHING! I definately dont want that! I'm not a patient person and font have time to stand around sans clothing while my lotion dries! This product has yet to transfer onto any of my clothing, thank you for that! There isn't an unpleasant smell like some tanners have (although I wish this had a coconut scent) and the formula feels light and airy on my ski, huge plus as I cant handle thick, heavy creams. I didn't even know it came with a tint since I just bought it this summer, so I can't comment on the lack of tint to guide the application ( would be nice tho). But I love that it's easy to apply without a lot of mess, it doesn't smell, it moisturizes my skin, has a nice color, and it's so affordable! I first use it on my face all over, then I use Lovingtan or Bondi with a foundation brush to highlight my forehead, cheeks, and along my jawline (especially along the jowls, lol) and bottom of my neck, as if I was applying bronzer. It beautifully contours my face but looks natural. Also, this hides my double chin and jowls, plus let's me look tanned without a lot of makeup…. very natural and pretty. Of course, proceed cautiously at first! But the best thing I like about this product is that I don't get that "suffocating" , heavy and sticky feeling other tanners give me. this is not the first time i’ve bought this stuff, just the first time i’ve ordered it from target. this is best used when you are ALREADY tan. i see a ton of comments saying it doesn’t work, but this is a TAN ENHANCER. it says on the bottle that you can use this without sunscreen, but i wouldn’t recommend unless you already have a tan. if you want to use this when you’re not tan and aiming to tan for the first time, use with a low SPF (6, 7, 8, 15, 30) and you will get tan. this stuff CAN and WILL stain your clothes? however, it washes out easily. dress accordingly if you don’t want brown stains on your bikinis/towels. smells like cocoa beans with a hint of chocolate. it’s a good smell, not at all overbearing. a bit greasy and takes a little to completely dry down, but that’s fine with me.Foxy

Okay I’m just gonna start off by saying that I can’t ever tan and burn super easily. The first time I tried this, I got a little tan but it left me with streaks everywhere, my shorts were stained and I was so disappointed. I decided to try it another time a week later to see if maybe I was doing something wrong and I was. The first time I used the bottle I shook it but I guess not enough so this time I did longer and then I put a super small (smaller than the first time) amount on my hands and really rubbed it in. Keep in mind I did this like 15-20 minutes before going out in the sun so I could really take my time and make sure I have absolutely no streaks and so I wouldn’t stain my clothes. That one time did not stain my clothes, no streaks, and I got a really good tan in just one day. So yes I would recommend this, just make sure you take your time with application and really rub everything it!suamy.f

Agree completely w/ long, most helpful review. I almost shamefully admit that I'm a very experienced tanner and tan very easily without burning. I apply La Roche Posay mineral 30 to my face & chest 1st. Next, I rub in a generous amount of Maui Babe everywhere else. Gives a gorgeous look all over. Smells nice with a tropical-coffee aroma. (not sure what anyone is talking about w/ teriyaki smell????) I don't get it too close to my bathing suits. I stand for a while or walk around my house or pool until it dries. I've had ZERO staining on bathing suits, towels, etc. I've laid out multiple times for 2-3 hrs (UV 8-10) and have not burned, BUT I have a base tan AND tan easily!!! Maui Babe does NOT have any SPF, I highly recommend wearing 30 SPF or higher UNDER Maui Babe. I've definitely gotten darker using Maui Babe than without it. I recommend!Roxiblu

Let me first begin by saying the smell of this product is much better than other tanners on the market, which is why I chose this product in specific. However, it doesn’t give me much color. It feels great on the skin and moisturizes well, but I think it would need to be “activated” by the sun to actually see some color results.mckenzie.h

I like the even coverage this self tanner gives, just make sure you rub it into your skin well and evenly. It does look darker on my feet where I have thicker skin. So make sure you go lightly on your feet and exfoliate them often. I noticed the color within days. I like the fact that it also has sunscreen of SPF 30 to protect my skin. The only thing I would like is that it would be more moisturizing. It would be nice to have some type of skin oil or extra moisture in it.Sadie

Let me preface this by saying that I am very fair-skinned and was a bit nervous about trying a sunless tanning product. I've tried some in the past that left me looking like an Oompa Loompa but I am happy to say that this one did not! The first thing you notice about this lotion is the incredible smell. It has a strong fruity melon kind of smell that I really like but if you are sensitive to fragrance, I would try something different. It goes on thick and creamy much like a typical sunscreen so be sure to rub it in really well to ensure even coverage. I found that putting some regular moisturizer on rough patches like elbows and knees first helped keep those areas from being darker. This lotion also did not break me out, and actually helped camouflage some areas where I have uneven skin tone. I am very happy with this product and will continue to buy it!SummerGirl1989

The Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Daily Sunscreen claims to have a breathable formula that feels light and airy on the skin, with hydrating silk ribbons that promise to provide moisture for 12 hours. After using this sunscreen for almost a month, I agree that the formula feels amazing on the skin. It is lightweight, leaves my skin feeling soft, and I love that it is 50 SPF. I also enjoyed the scent. It is not overwhelming and smells floral, but with light vanilla undertones. I did not find the fragrance irritating. It dissipated shortly after I applied the lotion and went about my day. The pump is also great and I have not had any problems with it getting stuck or dispensing too much product so far. The translucent tube makes it easy to see when I am running out. My issue with this sunscreen is the way it looks on the skin. The lotion makes you look greasy instead of moisturized and dewy, regardless if you are indoors or out in the sun. I did not mind this so much while I was outdoors because the sunscreen gave my skin a nice sheen and appeared glowy, but I wish it would have given the same result when I applied it to my face. I looked oily, and it was embarrassing when I finally noticed. I would recommend the Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Daily Sunscreen for the body, but I would avoid using it on the face next time. I randomly bought this not thinking it would be anything special but needed a body sunscreen for an upcoming trip. This ended up being a really nice surprise since this contains a lot of nourishing and skin friendly ingredients, is water resistant, oil free and has no white cast. My fiancé even asked that we buy more of this since he did not mind the smell of the sunscreen, which is shocking since he is really picky with the way sunscreen smells. This is perfect for the body but may not work for all on the face. My skin can be a little oily and I thought this made my face look shiny, but was perfect if I went swimming in the ocean since it helped moisturize my skin from the salt and sand. I would recommend this for any outdoor activity but would be cautious if you were attending a special event since this may make oily skin types feel uncomfortably shiny. The tropical smell is also pleasant and perfect for summer but not sure if I would enjoy using this in the cooler months. Personally, the scent would feel out of season for me. Overall, I would recommend this sunscreen for the summer since it is great for the face and body. I think it is also nice that this product is inexpensive for the ingredients you find in this US sunscreen. Only thing I would caution is that oily skin types may want to avoid using this for formal events since they may prefer a more matte finish. a fav of mine when I want a deeper, darker tan. gets you tan and fast. don’t need to stay in the sun too long. The product itself was great. Although it does not build up a tan as quickly as other oils that are SPF 5, it offers more protection. However, Mechanically it was very difficult to spray. I had to use two hands which made it difficult to apply on my arms.snowwoman

I am pale and pasty with freckles. I have always had an extremely difficult time attempting to get color from natural sunlight, however, the spf has changed this for me. I try to get about 45 minutes of sun no less than 3 times a week while using this product. The tan does not happen overnight. It is a gradual tan that takes consistency! I have not burned once which is a huge feat for someone as pale as I am. I will say I use a very liberal amount and go through a bottle about every three weeks. Overall, I highly recommend this product for extremely pale and pasty individuals who have never had a tan!Rsal29

Please don't claim it's Classic Coppertone because it's not!!!The top scent notes are too "bright" and fade away quickly. The original had a "warmer" more beach-y scent that lingered for a long time after applying. My theory is that the company decided to stop using more quality ingredients for the scent to make it more profitable, which has ruined something that was once UNIQUE and GREAT!! For years, I have been chasing fragrances from Bobbi Brown’s “Beach” to CB I Hate Perfume’s “At the Beach 1966” to Tom Ford’s “Portofino Neroli” to try and recapture the smell of the true, classic scent of Coppertone. These fragrances come close, but they, still, fall short. I’ll add that the last two fragrances are quite expensive —and people are paying these huge price tags just to recapture the iconic, happy smell of the true, original Coppertone fragrance. There’s a lot of talk online about people missing the old scent, and, apparently there was some talk of Coppertone’s making a fragrance with the original scent. Please, bring back the old scent in suntan oil or sunscreen and/or make an ear de parfum for us that hits the nail on the head. Wow! I haven’t revealed my legs in shorts or skirts in decades until I discovered this truly miracle lotion in light. As previous reviews warn do not be put off by the colour when you first put it on. When it dries it turns the most realistic colour and blurs out every imperfection. It’s that good it looks like you are wearing stockings. Thank you Sally Hansen I am that happy with the product I could cry! Please don’t ever discontinue this! I remember trying the spray many years ago which is good but too messy, the lotion is much better. It rubs in flawlessly and is very quick to apply. The only thing I would say is it does transfer onto clothing, not terribly but definitely does but hey a very small price to pay in my opinion!Bloom

I got my expectations way too high for this product and was very disappointed. I purchased this to cover stretch marks on my arms in the hopes that it would be a body foundation kind of product but the coverage is way too hard to actually build. It transfers to everything, no matter how much I tried setting it with baby powder. It's patchy, really hard to blend. It's a very orangey tone, made me feel like donald trump. I don’t normally write reviews, but this product had so many reviews that threw me off when reading them, that I thought this review might help. First, I want to say that this is an excellent product if you understand what it is and what its purpose is. This is a body makeup, not a sunless tanner! While it can, and does give a sun kissed glow like a sunless tanner, its uses and properties are vastly different. I got the “fairest� shade and it makes my very light skin look nicely tanned. It’s not a deep dark tan, but very close to my normal sun-tanned shade. I bought this product because, after multiple pregnancies, I have many unsightly veins on my legs that make me self conscious when my legs are visible. So let me highlight this product: 1.) It is a water resistant makeup foundation. It is not totally soap proof so you might see minor steaks after showering, it is not at all difficult to touch up and blend the streaks out. 2.) It is buildable until you get the coverage you need, or desire. The color does deepen the more layers you put on. I don’t find it necessary to use more than two layers. 3.) Since it is not a sunless tanner, it dries quickly and does not rub off on clothing once it is dry. Many reviewers mentioned mixing it with other lotions or lotioning the areas you normally lotion before using sunless tanners (elbows, knees, around feet and ankles, palms). This is not necessary or recommended. I believe this contributes to the many reviews that complained of it rubbing off. The other lotions disturb the adhesion of the foundation. 4.)The color you achieve after putting it on is the color it will stay. It does not develop over time like a sunless tanner. This makes it very easy to get flawless even coverage. The coverage I have achieved is not complete coverage, (I don’t believe you could cover a tattoo with it), but it does vastly improve discolorations and unsightly veins. The improvement is enough that I feel comfortable when my legs are visible. 5.) While it is marketed to the legs, this can be used beautifully on any area of the body including the face. 6.) It can be easily exfoliated away when you are finished with it. 7.) No special care is necessary when using your hands to put it on. It will wash off your hands with soap and water. 8.) I have received many compliments saying my legs have never looked so good!paige.h

For a sunscreen I'm kind of picky. To me is important that it's lightweight, doesn't leave a greasy skin (typical oily skin problems) and doesn't feel sticky. I love the formula of this sunscreen. It's light, stays nicely and is hydrating. I use my daily moisturizer before putting this sunscreen and I'm so glad I can enjoy the sunlight without feeling like my skin is all oiled up. I'd say this is nice for anyone, whether you have tan or not. If you're pale and want to get a bronze skin then this is the right product, if you have a tan this will enhance it and still will give you a nice golden, bronze glow. ✨daniela.c

One of my summer must haves. I think the only disappointment is that the sun protection for my skin is so great that while I would normally tan without it, but risk burning myself, with this product I can spend all day at the beach and not only not burn, but come home with a barely a tan. But that is my skin. Since I don’t want to end up looking like a leather handbag, I will swap my natural tan for this, and have patience with my toasted marshmallow. I am a natural redhead. Years ago I would love to go to the tanning beds, but wrinkling, freckling, and fear of skin cancer has kept me away. I have been in search of a perfect self tanner and have tried them ALL – from expensive St. Tropez, Fake Bake, Jergens…so many!.I have not been happy with the results or color of any. They are too smelly and take too long to set! Who has 8 hours to wait around in a smelly coat of lotion?! Even if I do it while sleeping, I feel so uncomfortable and fear streaking! I'm rolling around all night!.I was actually considering going back to the tanning beds. It just makes me confident. So, I was looking at lotions, always being a fan of AG products, and I had an idea! If this has bronzers, could I use it even without the bed and get color? I tried it and the answer is YES! Here is my process:1. make sure all skin is clean 2 apply to full body. i do my face, but if you have sensitive skin, be careful.3. WASH HANDS! They will stain if you don't! Pay attention to nails and knuckles! DON'T GET WATER ON BODY.4. I wait ONLY AN HOUR and shower. (this is amazing for me. self tanners take forever!)5. color develops in 6-8 hours, so don't be sad when the color of the lotion washes away in the shower. It will be back soon! Another benefit is the smell. Usually I smell my self tan as long as it's on my skin. With this, I only smell it after the first shower. After the second shower, the smell is TOTALLY GONE! AMAZING! The color fades slowly and not patchy. I plan on using only once a week to keep some color. Cons: The only con is the color is SLIGHTLY orange, but not so much that makes me self conscious. I feel pretty, toned and tan. Try varying the time you leave on your skin for deeper color. An hour is perfect for me. Any longer, and I think I may look too fake. Even after 30 mins, I can see a nice glow about 6 hours later. I will never have a deep dark tan, but have achieved a nice, natural glow! I am happy!naidely.m

I went through my camera roll to compare before and after using. I really do love this lotion. I didn't realize how tan I was looking until my gym posted some workout pictures and I saw myself (the high-five pic on the right). Even my sister commented on my tan after I sent it to her. I put it on most every day but sometimes skip to every other day. It's a very thin lotion, so I will moisturize my dry areas (ankles, knees, elbows) with a thicker lotion first, then use the Tan-Luxe over my whole body (minus my face; I use their tan drops mixed in with my face lotion). I put it on in the morning after my shower and literally forget about it. I'm not careful or precise; I put it on as quickly as I do any lotion. I don't worry about not getting wet or not washing my hands for hours afterwards; I go about my regular day. Subtle, not unpleasant smell. I haven't noticed any transfer on my bedsheets (white, printed sheets). If I wear a lighter shirt a few days in a row (wear it, sleep in it, wear it again) I have noticed a very light tan ring around the neck which does come out with no problem in a normal wash. If I take a hot bath and when I shave, I do see some tan color in the water. The only spots I need to be careful with are my hands/wrists. After I apply with bare hands all over my body, I wash my hands with soap and water then take a small kabuki brush and buff a small amount around my wrists, over my hands, and in between my fingers. Every so often at night, I'll do the same thing to let the color develop over night. I've done it once or twice to my feet/ankles, but that's barely been an issue. I've tried other tanning lotions/mousses/waters, but this is the least maintenance out of all of them with some of the best results. It doesn't give me that ultra dark look, but it does give me a good glow, like I'm fresh off a mini vacation somewhere warm. Highly recommend and don't plan on going back. As a girl who needs to be about 3 shades darker than my natural skin tone at all times to be happy but also a huge stickler about sun filters and avoiding damage, I have spent my way through a small arsenal of UV-less tanning products (in addition to regular spray tans 2x per month). Here’s my take: Pros: odor isn’t amazing, but better than most and it fades quickly. I’m pretty sensitive to smells can’t sleep in strongly scented products and I can apply this pretty close to bed time and not have a problem. It blends well and is very easy to apply, in part because it’s super fluid (viscosity more like a serum than a lotion). It’s definitely a gradual but shows up. I keep a nice even 3 shades deeper using every other day. In arm and leg baring season I usually keep a spray tan, one about every 10-12 days. This is the PERFECT compliment for that because it doesn’t affect the existing tan and it provides a nice base before you get sprayed and helps them last longer and the fading process between visits much more even and so much less noticeable and without any areas of stark contrast. Cons: flip side of the very fluid texture, it can be a little tough to control and messy. I usually have a few stray drops on the floor to clean up after an application. The biggest downer, and what loses a star for me is it is ironically, very drying and provides no benefit as a moisturizer. It’s difficult to avoid some drying from DHA but my legs get downright ashy (the tan making the dry skin a little more obvious) if I don’t alternate a “real” moisturizer in some days. On the whole though, probably the best gradual tan/spray tan maintenance product I’ve found and if then could work in some emollient to help the drying it would be pretty close to perfect.Cocodogsmom

Look, I like my town even an amazing. I like banana nut muffin and banana stuff so I like this Banana stuff to make my tan even. I am light brown and I like to be toasty. First I would like to say I love your product.. I recieved my recent order (order number 213187) and when I opened the box one of the shampoos had came open in transit and not only was it all over everything including the cute little drawstring pouch that the detox shampoo had been in, but my fairly expensive bottle of shampoo is wasted. It's a bit disappointing to say the least. Wanted someone aware this happened, I personally dont know about ordering again , I usually like to be able to use the product that I pay for, just sayin..I may suggest that rather than putting the very large monkey stickers in the box get smaller ones and seal the bottles shut for shipping with them. May want to pass that on or get me to someone else who can make it happen.. Sorry to be quite blunt, very frustrating.. First let me say I’m pale. Like, wicked pale. LIKE, FAMILY CAME FROM IRELAND LESS THAN A CENTURY AGO pale. I know nothing about tanning and do not claim to. I work from home, and on nice days I like to sit on the porch and work, and it was the perfect day for also trying out this product. I had no idea what to expect, but followed the instructions by applying sunscreen first and then the tanning lotion. I would say within an hour my arms, shoulders, chest, and neck were noticeably darker. Just as a side note, I tend to burn easily, and I had no burns whatsoever. That said, my legs were a bit more of a challenge- I sat in direct light with my legs up and exposed in the sun, and felt like I wasn’t making any real progress below the knee, but my knees and thighs we’re getting some color. It kept looking like the lotion was just absorbing into my skin without doing much of anything. i had to keep reapplying in that area to see some results where I did not have to do that anywhere else. It didn’t bother me so much, it was just an observation. By the end of my workday though, I had a nice sunkissed look that was natural and flattering- not orange or overdone, something I was worried about as such a pale person. I only wanted a nice healthy glow, and this definitely did that! A few other things to note though: -I bought this online and didn’t expect the actual lotion itself to be brown. I wanted this to be something I could bring to the beach and on vacation, but putting this very dark lotion on my very pale body looked… a bit problematic. I think this is something I’ll keep in my backyard. -Yes, it smells like chocolate and that smell is definitely subjective. It fades though. -It takes a while for the lotion to dry/absorb, so make sure you give yourself some time before you start moving around and touching things Overall though, I do really like this product! I received this #freeproduct "Jergens Natural Glow Sunless Tanner in Deep Bronze" from #topbox in exchange for my honest opinion. Even though I am fair skinned and not really into tanning, I have to say that this actually gave my skin a flawless, healthy and glowy look which definitely looked really sunkissed. Firstly I did a test on my leg to see how it would look and I was actually really surprised by how lovely the finished product looked on me when applied in full on both legs. The scent of this cream definitely had a lovely scent which was not overpowering at all. Thankfully I did not experience any discomfort or irritation on my skin. I have never used a tanning moisturizer/bronzer before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I received the Jergens natural glow in deep bronze for free from #trywithtopbox #freeproduct and here is my honest option after trying this product out. I used the product on my legs only because I was really curious to see how the deep bronze color would look and also because my legs haven't seen the sun in many months! I tried it out on one leg and at first I used just a teaspoon amount thinking it was enough but it wasn't. I used about 2-3 tablespoon of the bronzer on just half a leg. What I liked was that it was fairly easy to smooth it into the leg and there was no streaking, it had a pleasant smell and the color payoff was noticeable, there was a vast difference between the non tanned leg vs the leg that the bronzer was applied on. The drying time is quick and the color didn't transfer to my clothes. The next morning I did notice the color had gotten darker on my legs and taking a shower didn't remove the bronzer at all. I really liked this sunless tanning moisturizer/bronzer from Jergens, I liked how nice and tanned my legs looked.Kara501

I really like natural looking tan I got which lasted good 3-4 days. It doesn't make me look orange like mostly tanning products do. I'm not white skin i have medium beige skin and the light shade worked best for me. I am pale skinned and discovered the old branded version of this product (in the bronze bottle) a year or two ago which was the perfect colour and always streak free. Was more like a body lotion in consistency so easy to apply. Saw the promotion on the new branded bottles so assumed was the same but just different packaging and snapped two up as I use regularly. Unfortunately I was very disappointed to find St Tropez have *completely* changed the formula as well as the packaging and lotion is now thinner, much darker and like the old school fake tans from years back☹️Applied it anyway to try it out and found it is really strong smelling, thin and watery to apply and worst of all goes on with a noticeable green tinge-had my family calling me Shrek for the evening whilst I waited for it to dry!!!! Unsurprisingly the next morning I washed the guide colour off (thankfully the green didn’t stay on my skin!) but I was left with streaky arms and legs…I m a seasoned pro at tan application due to the need to apply frequently in the summer as I don’t tan easily and despite this I still had noticeable whiter patches which means I can no longer rely on this as my ‘go to’ tan. Sadly I would no longer recommend-avoid!!!Ruby

This is the worst product I have tried from St Tropez. They discontinued the old gradual tan firming lotion and replaced it with this one. It instantly sets and stains, there is nothing gradual about it. I used my hand first as this is the way I used to apply the old formula. It instantly turned my hand a greenish black seven after repeated washes. I used my mitt to apply the rest and I didn’t rub in one area of my leg fast enough and same problem instant blotchy streaks. After letting it dry for 30 minutes I got dressed and it stained my clothes. WORST TANNER I HAVE EVER USED! If I could give it zero stars I would.milkey

Really loved using this product as i love using St Tropez gradual self tans and was interested in using this firming gradual tan . It smelt gorgeous on application and application was fairly easy to apply it to my arms and legs. It absorbed fairly quickly and dried pretty quickly and it developed over the next 6-8 hours and I noticed the tan was a beautiful deep tan colour but also very natural. Loved that one application was enough for a gorgeous glow. It was also streak free especially around my wrists and ankles and was really natural and not orange. It also didn’t have the strong biscuity smell of most fake tans. Loved that you can build up the intensity day by day and incorporate this into your daily routine. I knocked off one star because the lotion is very emollient and if you use too much of the product it takes a good 3-5 mins to rub into the skin as it turns white on application! I noticed the second time I used less product this didn’t happen, so use less and gradually build up the application to avoid this happening in future! But I loved the results and would highly recommend to my friends and family.EmmaC77

I bring this with me whenever I go to the beach now! This product gives you just the right amount t of color without looking fake. Not even close to a regular self tanner which is good, definitely more like a tinted moisturizer. The smell is fantastic, very warm and beachy. The product doesn't feel sticky or tacky when applying and wears well. I can go swimming with it and it will stay on! Protects well from the sun! A product I will keep buying!Hailey

Please never stop selling this! I love this sunscreen so much. It has really good ingredients so that it's perfect as a body lotion and sunscreen in one during summertime. It does not really bronze the skin though. I have fair skin (Mac NC10) and I would say it just makes my skin look more glowy instead of bronzed.ARG

I was waiting for a sale to repurchase urban decay eyeshadow primer in Eden that I had used to the last drop. I noticed this had a silicone texture basically dupe of one of the make up forever face primers so I started putting this on my eyelids and under eyes instead. First of all, zero eye irritation. And second, I kid you not it holds shadow on my oily lids so well! It's not as opaque as Eden but I kind of prefer this because it doesn't accentuate the eyelid wrinkles as much. I do get some creasing, but not till I've had it on for like maybe 12 hours or longer. It can make my combo skin feel dry on the cheeks so I moisturize the cheeks well first. But it does seem to help keep me t zone shine free longer. If the light shade were more warm toned I would love it more, but my skin is neutral-warm so it's acceptable on me. I won't knock a star for that, but it would be great if they came out with one more shade like the Elta MD UV Elements which has a warmer undertone which gives a healthy warm glow. I did try mixing the light and the dark ones but I personally didn't find the shades undertones mixed to complement me. For reference I'm MAC NC 25-30 but more on the neutral side.Jammy

I'm a skincare and sunscreen fanatic. I hate how most sunscreens look under my makeup. But, I have decent skin so I can just use this as my foundation now! I believe that's the under purpose since it is tinted. You need to read ingredients to see if it will separate from your foundation if you plan to later foundation on top. I do not. I bought his because of a tiktok – the girl wearing this had similar skin to my own. Combo skin with some acne and visible pores. It looked so good on her and on mine as well! Please still use moisturizer with this and let it set before applying. Sunscreen is not meant to be moisturizing; so everyone saying it is drying makes me think they are trying to use this without moisturizer. My skin gets oily from certain products, especially sunscreen. This does not break me out and I'm not (as) oily as I usually am at the end of the day! It's mattifying but not in a gross caked on way. My skin still looks healthy and slightly glowy (if I moisturize under) I really recommend this if you have combo/oily skin, some acne, texture issues.Hannah

I wear this every day. I used to wear concealer and powder, but now I just wear this. For me it performs so much better than way more expensive tinted sunscreens I've tried. It applies beautifully, doesn't pill even when layered over skincare, and evens out my skin tone without looking like makeup. I have sensitive skin but this doesn't irritate, even around my eyes. Dries matte and helps keep my forehead from becoming too oily throughout the day. I am very pale but the light version works for me, and the tint is flexible enough that it still works when I've been (fake) tanning. It only oxidizes if I don't wash my face at night, but even then I don't look orange, just like I've been tanning. My one complaint is that in the winter the matte finish is a bit too dry around my eyes, which doesn't help my fine lines and can make my eye makeup look a bit cakey as the day goes on. Moisturizing really well and using some oil beforehand helps. But if they made a dewy version — maybe a chemical or combo mineral/chemical SPF — I would be over the moon.xxsl

I have ridiculously pale skin. I am like a ghost. I am practically transparent like a deep sea fish. I don’t like tanning beds because I don’t want wrinkles. So rather than look like a starving Victorian child, I’ve used this in the past and I purchased it again last week. 1) be sure you wash your hands after you apply it or your nails will look orange af. 2) the dirty-sock smell only lasts a couple hours. 3) wait until the lotion dries before putting on clothing. It smells great upon initial application. My boyfriend kept commenting on it from across the room. He was very happy to make sure I got an even coat on the back of my body. However, after about an hour or so, I thought I was getting phantom dirty-sock smell. My boyfriend and I were driving ourselves crazy before we discovered that it’s the lotion that smelled like a middle school locker room. Perhaps I exaggerate, it wasn’t that bad. Just surprising is all. It ended up smelling just fine after a few hours. We suspect there are some chemical changes that effect the smell while the color itself develops. Otherwise, I love this product and it’s given me a very natural color. Hardly noticeable. I’ve been using self tanner for years. In the past, the other Brand’s 1 hour tanner I had used required a lot of technique to look natural without streaks or dark patches. I had to work quickly and used regular lotion to dilute the areas that tan darker like the heel or knee area. I had to rub in vigorously, allow at least 15 minutes of drying time and wash the hands as quickly as possible. The process was stressful and I usually worked up a sweat doing it. The worst of it was the horrible smell my skin had as it processed the self tanner. I did this for years and got pretty good at it but finally gave up as I couldn’t handle the smell and the pressure to do everything perfectly for fear of embarrassing splotchy skin.I kept seeing this Jergens and the reviews. My legs aren’t my best feature now that I’m close to 50Years old so I decided To help the legs out with a tan. I chose Jergens because of the slow, buildable tan. I pleased to report the buildable formula is great. I was able to apply it without the pressure for perfection because the results were lighter. As long as I didn’t make the same “mistakes” repeatedly my skin developed a natural looking tan. It’s important to exfoliate every shower to prevent dark spots on old skin but that also means the tan comes off and you have to apply after every shower to keep up your color.The lotion itself has a nice feel and it rubs in smoothly and easily. The smell was similar to the tropical suntan lotions.As for the “firmer” skin claims… hogwash! Not true. Use this as a self tanner and don’t fall for magical claims of firmer skin.sheri.g

I picked this up when I was out of town. I just wanted a tan I was out in the sun and realized how pale I looked. I just saw this and said wth why not I'll give it a shot. I was shocked at how well this stuff works. I put on lotion right out of the shower anyways and this was great went on great didn't make me orange or patchy for me. I put this on straight as I'm done showering make sure your not damp I mean right when u turn the shower off put this on. Work in sections as if u was putting on lotion. I do my legs first then my arms and rub the rest whatever's left on my hands on my stomach and chest and sometimes neck. Pat dry don't wipe or use rough motions just simply use the towel to pat over your legs and arms and wherever else. Put your clothes on and wait till morning or later that night you'll be able to see results on the 3rd day of use if your just started using this. I didn't think this would even do much for me. I'm surprised at how well this has turned out. I had a nice glowy tan while I was out of town and I've continued using it when I got home. Everyone thinks I got a tan from a weekend trip shhh lol nobody has to know lol. Oh make sure to wash your hands very well!!! As I got fake tan between my fingers but that's my fault not the product. Try it I think it's a overall decent product. Also the calms of not leaving stains on anything is also very true. I was at a fancy place and I was using the towels to dry off with and it never left fake tan stains on anything. Not my clothes or the towels which was amazing.Aquarius

I have used this twice. The first time was because I was going on the boat and it was the first time out in a bathing suit bc of winter. I used it so I wouldn’t be blinding in the sun. It gave me a nice little tan, the second time I used it it gave me a deeper tan. I used it all over my body (it only says legs and arms but I put it everywhere except my face). The result was an even, natural, streak free tan with NO self tanner SMELL! I like it a lot. If you are looking for a natural tan and NOT a Jersey shore tan, then give this a try! You will love it! I don’t know if the bad reviews of streaks is for this product or if they are using it wrong. Make sure to apply liberally and rubbing it on when you are still dripping wet in the shower right after you turn the water off, then towel dry only by blotting your skin, don’t rub.Nripley

I used this for several months during the summer. I loved it! The only thing I will say is that it did make my skin a little bumpy. I have sensitive skin so it was probably a VERY minor reaction. It was so mild, however, that I kept using it! It made my skin look healthy. I am very fair and wear sunscreen everyday so I like to use something to give me a little color in the summer months. This is great because it’s incredibly easy! I found it worked the best when I’d pat a little water off of my body BEFORE applying this and then obviously wash my hands well. I don’t recommend using a traditional self tanner on top of this (even if it’s been a few days since using it last) because it creates a sort of film that doesn’t allow the other self tanner to penetrate your skin. It results in a patchy tan and even patchier fading. I still love this stuff and will start using it again for an upcoming event!ladybug

Not this product- no streaks- really it blends in so well! I am fair skinned and this tanner looks fabulous! How to use this self tanner: 1. Shower and exfoliate (if you don't have a scrub you can make one out of bath salts and soap or use a loofah) 2. Apply lotion to rough areas- knees, ankles, and elbows 3. Strip down- and apply – be sure to rub all over (wash hands after about 2 minutes and then continue) 4. Let it dry and relax (***don't continue to rub it while it it working- after 10 minutes of drying let it do it's magic- hands off) 5. Reapply after three hours if you'd like 6. All done… now you look great! Try not to get sunburnt- it will peel off if you do. You will see how it bends quite naturally into the areas that you didn't tan. After reading numerous reviews however, I think I need to start applying it 2-3 times a week until I see some color. I am pretty pale and went with the medium shade but I think I will try a darker shade. I do have to mention, after reading the numerous complaints about the change in your formula, I am confused. One of the selling points for me on this specific self tanner (besides banana boat being a long time traditional product brand for me) is that there is no guide color. I did a lot of research on self tanners and when companies use a guide color it seems to transfer onto absolutely EVERYTHING! I definately dont want that! I'm not a patient person and font have time to stand around sans clothing while my lotion dries! This product has yet to transfer onto any of my clothing, thank you for that! There isn't an unpleasant smell like some tanners have (although I wish this had a coconut scent) and the formula feels light and airy on my ski, huge plus as I cant handle thick, heavy creams.
