Amazing sunscreen! I have been using for about a year continuously and no issues. I have darker complexion skin (melaninated sisters & brothers this works for us). It was really important for me to find a sunscreen that didn't leave a whitecast, and this works beautifully. Upon first application is seems a little whitecasty, but apply and wait a minute or so and that will vanish, leaving a dewy glow. I haven't had any breakouts so far, but on very humid days and after multiple applications, it can feel a bit heavy. I’ve been on a mission to find a sunscreen I can enjoy. I think I found it. I have oily skin, so finding a sunscreen that isn’t greasy or super shiny is the mission. This sunscreen is so light!! You can’t feel it on your skin. It dries fast without any tacky or sticky feeling. It is a tiny bit shiny, similar to what my face looks like right after washing my face. I wish it was a little more matte, BUT I don’t look greasy. It’s hard to find a matte sunscreen that feels as good as this one does, it doesn’t pill, or run. It’s an amazing sunscreen. I love that the packaging lists that it is water resistant up to 80 minutes, as I find instructions on these products can often not give accurate information on when to reapply. The product is vegan, hypoallergenic and has no fragrance so it doesn’t break me out like some others do. The formula has no oil and it doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin, which is a problem I often suffer with. The texture is a nice lightweight lotion and it applies easily and absorbs quickly. I always applied to a clean and dry face and it happened each time. I tried different methods such as rubbing in, using my hand to swipe in one singular direction, applying and patting in. I tried increasing and decreasing the amount I put on at any single application and the problems always occurred. I am taking off 1 star for the lack of response from Sun Bum. It's been several weeks now since I sent a message wanting to express my concern and inquire as to whether there was maybe a bad batch or to see if there were other solutions for me. I didn't hear anything back unfortunately. I wanted to wait till I heard back to leave a review because I do believe that customer service is part of the good and bad of any product. The 2 stars I have given this product are for its lack of fragrance and irritants – this is important to me when using a sunscreen on my face and near my eyes, nostrils, and mouth. And my favorite part of this formula and why I so desperately wanted it to work was it's lightness, this consistency is one of the best and I'd be sold for life on this product if it continued to have this light and milky consistency but without the issues I experienced. This is great, because we might move here in a few years. And the surf paste is great. I originally tried this out after having a reaction to the cult favorite UV Clear–I think my skin disagrees with the niacinimide in that formulation. Anyway, I was happy with the quality of EltaMD, but looking for something more moisturizing for my combination/dry skin and I found it in UV Facial. This is an incredibly moisturizing and rich formula that does not leave a white cast on my pale skin. It will leave an ever so slight shine on your face, which translates to a glow on my skin, so if you are oily or prefer a completely matte look then this product probably isn't for you. I find it wears lovely under my foundation–something that can be a challenge with sunscreens. I love this formula so much but had to knock a star off because of the use of chemical filters. If this sunscreen was purely physical it would be a 5/5 holy grail formulation. I keep testing out all-mineral sunscreens and always come back to this one. If you are on the drier side and don't mind a chemical sunscreen, try this out!roshni.p
I use this as my daily sunscreen! Honestly I haven’t had a lot of luck with many sunscreens because of white-cast, oiliness, etc, but this one has been the best formula of the ones I’ve tried in the past. It’s a lightweight formula but you can definitely feel it on your face for the first 20 minutes after applying. It definitely protects your skin and it feels like a clean product, and not too heavy. It has a slight white-cast that goes away after a minute of rubbing in. My only downsides are that it leaves an oily/glossy finish (which I personally dislike) and that it pills with other products. The gloss isn’t terrible, you can certainly cover it up with some powder, but not too bad alone. It definitely can pill so I have opted out from using it with makeup or serums. I keep my morning skincare routine very minimal (just wash and moisturize) so that this sunscreen will not pill. I’ve had it pill before with the cerave vitamin c serum. I have literally tried over 20 sunscreens. Finding one that checks all the boxes ingredient wise and that had a nice finish is nearly impossible. Actually, this is the only sunscreen that has met all my criteria. It also makes my skin look and feel amazing. I have acne prone skin, I’m combo oily, I don’t like feeling anything on my face, and I enjoy makeup. I’m also on a retinoid. I have been using this sunscreen for over a year, and continue to come back to it when I go exploring to see if there’s something better. So far, there isn’t! The finish is natural. It’s not too shiny and not too matte. It literally just makes my skin look healthy and moisturized but not oily at all. There is absolutely no white cast. It does not pill under any makeup I’ve tried. It layers up beautifully. I’ve reapplied 3 times in a day and it manages to stay silky and not cakey on my skin. It does have a very mild, pleasant scent- which is great because I hate fragrances in products or ones that smell naturally of battery acid. It does not sting around my eyes AT ALL. It also has the added benefits of improving my skin texture and look of my complexion. Though it doesn’t add coverage, per say, I can go without my powder foundation when wearing this. I will say I appreciate the matte texture of this sunscreen. However, the color is way too dark. I look completely orange when I put this on my face. The other problem I have is that it pills no matter what I put underneath. I also find it to dry out my skin by the end of the day. I use a strong retinoid every night and I don't love the flaking. Had to return this one.
I use this all summer and have started to use it in winter also- just a smaller amount. It states it is a “primer” and I normally don’t use a primer because I don’t wear foundation but I just use this as I would a tinted moisturizer. I use a serum beforehand and the Tizo on top. I then use a loose powder over, like bare minerals mineral veil. The Tizo blurs pores, adds a really nice color to my fair complexion, and is a matte finish. A little goes a long way! It was originally recommended to me by my dermatologist.JDavis
This “primer” has a good texture and it’s good under makeup. I like that it’s all mineral and spf 40, higher than most primers. However, this tint is not universal and should come in different shades. I am very fair and this tint is much too dark for me. It might work for those with deeper skin tones.

I cannot live without this. I am a redhead and growing up there was nothing I hated more than sunscreen. Not only was it sticky, but is smelled very distinctly like sunscreen and I was always the kid made fun of for the white streaks or cast all over my skin. I hated sunscreen. It is not sticky when you put the right amount on. It is completely invisible and it is so hydrating without clogging pores (adult acne struggle is real!). I was really reluctant to try this sunscreen to be honest, and mainly for the name “super goop”. To me that sounds like the sunscreen was going to be gooey and thick, and if you throw in the word “glow screen” I thought for sure I would be walking around like a disco ball. The consistency of the product itself is quite opposite of what I thought. i only apply a small amount because a little goes a long way. The consistency is thin enough to smooth onto my face and settles into the perfect finish. I’m on day two of trying this sunscreen because I’m wearing it with different products. Yesterday I tried under my full coverage makeup and no greasy face so yeah! This morning I tried it with some bronzing drops to add some color and again the consistency is gorgeous. Overall, I feel like this is a great product, especially for us oily face combination skin peeps, I’m really impressed. I also heard it goes great when mixed with tinted moisturizers so I will try that next. This is probably one of my favorite sunscreens I've ever tried! I've tried buying other sunscreens, mineral ones that "don't leave a white cast" and cheaper chemical options, and I just purchased this sunscreen for the fourth time. I also come back to this because it's a reliable choice and have had no problems. I'm Southeast Asian with a skin tone that's on the lighter side of the medium/tan range, so if I wear a 100% mineral sunscreen, my skin is light enough that it blends in but also dark enough for someone to tell that my skin tone looks off (sort of like a white cool-toned tint to my warm skin?). In other words, I just look a bit paler than usual and it looks unnatural. With this sunscreen, I don't have to think about if you can see it on my skin or if it's not blended. I usually put on more sunscreen than suggested (just to be safe), and this glides on extremely easily over my skin ( and I also didn't notice any scent/an unpleasant chemical smell). It is a bit slippery (no oils are in this, just silicones), but your skin will feel soft after rubbing it in. Speaking of which, you don't need to put in a lot of effort to apply! I had recently gotten jaw surgery and had switched to a different sunscreen (chemical, but had a white color that disappeared after rubbing in). I had incisions on the left and right side of my bottom jaw, which sunscreen would be necessary to prevent scarring, and I found that I had trouble rubbing in my sunscreen (walking into harsh lighting, I'd see white along the sides of my jaw from not blending well enough). I switched to this instead and had no problem, nor did I have to worry about having any weird coloring. The finish is a soft matte, almost similar to the Fenty Pro Filter Instant Retouch Primer. I am an avid SPF wearer throughout the year and always apply factor 50 to my face. I have tried tens, if not hundreds, of facial SPFs and this one really does stand up to many others I’ve tried. The tube is a generous size, the packaging is cute but more importantly it offers broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. I love that the packaging lists that it is water resistant up to 80 minutes, as I find instructions on these products can often not give accurate information on when to reapply. The product is vegan, hypoallergenic and has no fragrance so it doesn’t break me out like some others do. The formula has no oil and it doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin, which is a problem I often suffer with. The texture is a nice lightweight lotion and it applies easily and absorbs quickly. I am taking 2 stars off for the issue I had which was pilling mostly. The formula balled right up and essentially chunked up as I rubbed it in. I always applied to a clean and dry face and it happened each time. I tried different methods such as rubbing in, using my hand to swipe in one singular direction, applying and patting in. I tried increasing and decreasing the amount I put on at any single application and the problems always occurred. I am taking off 1 star for the lack of response from Sun Bum. It's been several weeks now since I sent a message wanting to express my concern and inquire as to whether there was maybe a bad batch or to see if there were other solutions for me. I didn't hear anything back unfortunately. I wanted to wait till I heard back to leave a review because I do believe that customer service is part of the good and bad of any product. The 2 stars I have given this product are for its lack of fragrance and irritants – this is important to me when using a sunscreen on my face and near my eyes, nostrils, and mouth. And my favorite part of this formula and why I so desperately wanted it to work was it's lightness, this consistency is one of the best and I'd be sold for life on this product if it continued to have this light and milky consistency but without the issues I experienced. I was so keen to try this based on the reviews and marketing but luckily opted for a free sample as part of another order. I had really high hopes for this, but unfortunately, I really didn't like this SPF. On top of my normal moisturiser, it felt really sticky and as if a heavy moisturiser – at first application and especially throughout the day. I felt really greasy and especially in the sun, my face was shining. I tried it without moisturiser the next day – it went on and felt better throughout the day but I certainly needed a miosturiser beforehand. This reminded me of Cerave's ultra light spf lotion, but less drying and tacky. It went on wonderfully like a liquid lotion, and it gave off less of a white cast on my tan skin than I thought. The dewy finish wasn't over the top either and it felt moisturizing. Unfortunately as I used this product more than 3 times, my skin started to get red and itchy on the cheeks with little bumps scattered throughout my face, so I had to discontinue use of this sunscreen. Having skin cancer twice on my face, I don’t mess around with drug store facial sunblock anymore. This product has been my “go to” for years. Unlike the drugstore products, it isn’t greasy, doesn’t make my sensitive skin break out, and doesn’t stink like chemicals or fake scents. I like most EltaMD sunscreens, and this one is my favorite for my neck, chest, and body. It goes on easily, no cast on me, and feels moisturizing. But, it is so expensive that I only use it when I'm going to be outside all day and stick to the EltaMD UV Lotion sunscreen for other days. UV Lotion and UV Daily are nearly identical in inactive ingredients and have the same feel, but UV Daily has higher SPF. I wish EltaMD would package UV Daily in a larger, more economical bottle; I honestly think they should ditch the UV Lotion sunscreen and switch fully to manufacturing this one. The scent/smell/stench is awful! I say Bar Keeper's Friend cleaner, my spouse says toilet cleaner. Yuck! I don't want that on my face all day. : ( Secondly, the bottle is very stiff and difficult to squeeze. The product isn't thin enough like La Roche-Posay to run out of the bottle. The feel on the skin is initially greasy then dries down. But there is no getting over that smell! I am an avid SPF wearer throughout the year and always apply factor 50 to my face. I have tried tens, if not hundreds, of facial SPFs and this one really does stand up to many others I’ve tried. The tube is a generous size, the packaging is cute but more importantly it offers broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. I love that the packaging lists that it is water resistant up to 80 minutes, as I find instructions on these products can often not give accurate information on when to reapply. The product is vegan, hypoallergenic and has no fragrance so it doesn’t break me out like some others do. The formula has no oil and it doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin, which is a problem I often suffer with. The texture is a nice lightweight lotion and it applies easily and absorbs quickly. I am taking 2 stars off for the issue I had which was pilling mostly. The formula balled right up and essentially chunked up as I rubbed it in. I always applied to a clean and dry face and it happened each time. I tried different methods such as rubbing in, using my hand to swipe in one singular direction, applying and patting in. I tried increasing and decreasing the amount I put on at any single application and the problems always occurred. I am taking off 1 star for the lack of response from Sun Bum. It's been several weeks now since I sent a message wanting to express my concern and inquire as to whether there was maybe a bad batch or to see if there were other solutions for me. I didn't hear anything back unfortunately. I wanted to wait till I heard back to leave a review because I do believe that customer service is part of the good and bad of any product. The 2 stars I have given this product are for its lack of fragrance and irritants – this is important to me when using a sunscreen on my face and near my eyes, nostrils, and mouth. And my favorite part of this formula and why I so desperately wanted it to work was it's lightness, this consistency is one of the best and I'd be sold for life on this product if it continued to have this light and milky consistency but without the issues I experienced. I enjoy the products for body that I have bought from Sun Bum. I have actually used the body SPF on my face and even though it is thick, I still love it. I just can't really use the products that have fragrance on my face, they are not a problem for my body but I have skin issues on my face that preclude their use on my face.Kristina
I am vacationing in FL for 2 months, and I am not someone who sits under a tent on the beach and never strays into the water. I spend a lot of time in the water, and my 57 year old skin and hair need a lot of help. I now have now bought 5 of your products: Original Surf Paste, Original Sunscreen SPF 50, Sunscreen Face Lotion, Face Serum and Cooldown Lotion. Al 5 products are exceptional, and I almost never leave reviews. The sunscreen is literally a joy to spread on, and I hate sunscreen. Normally, after 1 week my skin has little bumps all over it that you can’t see but you can feel. Mineral sunscreen doesn’t do that, but yuck. I have been here almost 3 weeks and no bumps! 😁. This is great, because we might move here in a few years. And the surf paste is great. Don’t know about the SPF level, but my hair is soft and happier than it normally is with extended exposure to sun and salt water. I love the after sun face serum. Very cooling. My skin is very dry and sensitive and this cream was not enough moisturising. My skin dried out in patches so there was not enough moisturising. I don't understand why LW doesn't indicate what kind of sunscreen it is. I thought it is a mineral sunscreen but it turns out it is hybrid, so not very suitable for sensitive skin either. On the LW description it was written "Free of Parabens, Mineral Oil, Alcohol, Artificial Fragrances and Color.", but this cream is heavily scented so definitely have artificial fragrance. This cream is just a usual hybrid sunscreen but the price is definitely too high. Will not reorder.
I love this sunscreen, and I'm extremely picky with my sunscreen! For years I've tried countless different types of sunscreen, which either left me with a white cast, an oily complexion, or some which dried my skin out even more, or being constantly able to feel the sunscreen on my face (yuck). But this sunscreen is lightweight, does not leave a white cast and absorbs pretty nicely without drying the skin, but leaving it dewy and plump. Now I haven't tried it during the summer (which is the most critical period for wearing sunscreen), but during this winter period, where my skin dries out like crazy, this sunscreen really helps. I would definitely purchase again, and again! I only gave it 4 stars because it comes in such a small tube (handy to have in your bag/purse, but I fear I might run out quickly). I bought this sunscreen on a whim not really having amazing expectations for it, but omg it literally feels as if you were putting a thick essence on your face which I've never seen from a sunscreen before. There is a slight smell but nothing too overpowering. I've been using this for a few months now and not once have I broken out from it, I would say my skin got even better because of it. My skin is always at its prime whenever I use this specific sunscreen. I should probably stop using other sunscreens if this one is so reliable but the price [tears]. I just need to know when will it be back in stock?

I decided to try this because I'd gone through 4 bottles of the SkinMedica Essential Defense SPF (tinted), which was the SPF that converted me to wearing daily sunscreen. Given this more specific "anti-aging" formula I figured it would be a fancier version of what I already loved. Now that I've gone through most of the bottle, my verdict is that it's…okay. It's much thicker and doesn't play as nice with my skincare as the Essential Defense does. If I apply it too soon after my moisturizer it clumps up. Since it's thicker I also feel its presence on my face a little more than the Essential Defense. I'm about to be 30 years old, so maybe my skin isn't mature enough to appreciate this formula, but I didn't really notice any skin benefits. I am a sunscreen fanatic. Melasma makes it imperative to wear sunscreen everyday. I wear this sunscreen on low exposure days. it protects against indirect exposure (SPF 34) and also against infrared red. The verdict is out on whether infrared red light emitted by computer screens and hand held devices can cause skin damage. I feel good wearing this extra layer of protection. What I love the most about this product is that my skin feels good after applying it. It feels soothed. It works well under makeup (Don't overwork it)
I have tried dozens of moisturizers with spf and of sun protection creams of all types, all consistencies (fluids, light creams, thicker creams, powder, tinted or not), and this absolutely is the best in all respects for year-round consistent use. Why is that ? The lotion is more like a light cream which goes on very smoothly, provides excellent protection from city sun to outdoor activities, and sets quickly to a truly matte finish but also provides a subtle glow. Alone it is very comfortable and does a good job of smoothing and unifying: skin looks far better than without, pores are less visible and stay that way, complexion is durably matte without emphasizing dry spots, and even giving a healthy glow. So it ends up being a great sun protectant while providing all the benefits of a day moisturizer brimming with good for skin ingredients. And once settled, you can leave it at that or layer with a light foundation or a tinted sunscreen (the same product in its tinted version works wonderfully, you can just apply a thin to medium layer on top, depending on the amount of color you want to achieve). The non tinted is the perfect base as it actually doubles up as a primer without calling itself one. BY FAR the best sun protection product I have used. My skin is pretty good, combination with visible pores, tendency to shine, but few wrinkles considering my age (58). This product keeps me matte and primed and DOESN’T emphasize dry areas, doesn’t settle into wrinkles, does minimize pores, and is easy to apply and comfortable to wear. I only switch to a water resistant one when I’m swimming or otherwise exposed to water, like for my hands. Considering its performance and the generous quantity for a face product, the price is fair and justified. And regular LS discounts allow it to be an even better buy. I only wish SkinMedica would come up with a similar product in a larger size that could be applied daily to other exposed body areas (eg. arms, legs, hands).

I got the SPF 30 Mineral Powder Sunscreen Brush – Touch of Tan for my teenage daughter to try. What we found is that it takes a little practice to use of you're not used to makeup that comes out through the bristles. You cannot be fair skinned to use the touch of tan mineral powder. I personally would not be able to use it because it would contrast against my skin color and look like I put on a mask. My daughter on the other hand has a darker skin tone than I do, so the touch of tan just gave her a pretty glow. It's nice that you can adjust the tip of the brush for all over coverage or precision coverage around areas like your eyes and nose. She wore the powder outside while doing archery for several hours a few days in a row. She didn't show any signs of sunburn on her face. Sweat didn't seem to cause any issues with the powder either. I like that the brush is refillable and comes with instructions on how to clean it so you can reuse it. Well I know it is not cheap but it's really nice one sunscreen. If you think that you don't need sunscreen on the wintertime you are wrong. Is great when you skiing or walking on the mountains or just on your regular daily usage. I have a very fair skin tone and it's working for me. It's a mineral, translucent powder that you can put on the face after you do your makeup. Very easy to apply. The brush is so soft too. Is not greasy as the regular sunscreens are. Goes on smoothly without affecting your skin ton for flawless coverage. It's also very convenient, just put it to your purse on even to your pocket and carry whenever you want. I received this sunscreen for free in exchange for my honest-to-goodness review. Sunscreen is uber important in my skincare routine. At 40 years old, I've had 3 spots removed on my face, and one Mohs surgery done, and my migraine medication causes even more sensitivity to the sun. Suffice it to say, I have cruddy skin and need to beware. I was pretty excited to give this brush-on sunblock a try, because I kind of hate a greasy face, especially since I sweat a lot. I probably used a lot more of this than was directed because, as designed by the manufacturer, it is translucent. So, I put it on until I could see a good powdery coating on my face and shoulders. After such, I proceeded to do my thing outdoors at the barn, and after only an hour and a half, I was burnt. Boo. My shoulders and neck and my high cheeks were strawberry red. So, I did not have a great experience in using this, but I will give it another try, but I will use a lotion sunscreen as a base. I'm thinking this will help the lotion wear better on my face so I'm not as slick or sticky. But like I said, the concept is great. The packaging is great—purse/pocket sized applicator. This sunscreen does pill if I do skincare AND makeup. I have eczema, so I usually have a hydration/moisturizing-heavy routine, but I waited about 5 minutes after my skincare to let my products soak in before carefully applying the proper amount of sunscreen to my face (2-3 finger lengths worth) and it did not pill; however, I did apply makeup after and the sunscreen did not agree with my foundation (Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk) at all and immediately started pilling. I still frequently use the sunscreen, though mostly on bare skin or a long while after my skincare routine, and it works well this way. It is a chemical sunscreen, so there is no white cast. It is lightweight and is pleasant to wear on my hands as well, which is a problem area for me with other heavier/stickier/filmy sunscreens. I would buy again.Cynthia

I really loved this formula initially. It was the smoothest non-greasy formula I have found and I was hooked. After several uses I started having dry flaking around my chin and mouth. It took me a while to realize it was the sunscreen causing it. If I stopped using it, the issue resolved. If I used it again, sure enough, the next day is have a good patch of dry flaky skin that would take days to resolve. Use with caution if your skin tends to the drier side, or is sensitive.Lauren

I originally tried this out after having a reaction to the cult favorite UV Clear–I think my skin disagrees with the niacinimide in that formulation. Anyway, I was happy with the quality of EltaMD, but looking for something more moisturizing for my combination/dry skin and I found it in UV Facial. This is an incredibly moisturizing and rich formula that does not leave a white cast on my pale skin. It will leave an ever so slight shine on your face, which translates to a glow on my skin, so if you are oily or prefer a completely matte look then this product probably isn't for you. I find it wears lovely under my foundation–something that can be a challenge with sunscreens. I love this formula so much but had to knock a star off because of the use of chemical filters. If this sunscreen was purely physical it would be a 5/5 holy grail formulation. I keep testing out all-mineral sunscreens and always come back to this one. If you are on the drier side and don't mind a chemical sunscreen, try this out!roshni.p
I use this as my daily sunscreen! Honestly I haven’t had a lot of luck with many sunscreens because of white-cast, oiliness, etc, but this one has been the best formula of the ones I’ve tried in the past. It’s a lightweight formula but you can definitely feel it on your face for the first 20 minutes after applying. It definitely protects your skin and it feels like a clean product, and not too heavy. It has a slight white-cast that goes away after a minute of rubbing in. My only downsides are that it leaves an oily/glossy finish (which I personally dislike) and that it pills with other products. The gloss isn’t terrible, you can certainly cover it up with some powder, but not too bad alone. It definitely can pill so I have opted out from using it with makeup or serums. I keep my morning skincare routine very minimal (just wash and moisturize) so that this sunscreen will not pill. I’ve had it pill before with the cerave vitamin c serum. But it definitely works overall so 4 stars 🙂alexis.f
I have literally tried over 20 sunscreens. Finding one that checks all the boxes ingredient wise and that had a nice finish is nearly impossible. Actually, this is the only sunscreen that has met all my criteria. It also makes my skin look and feel amazing. I have acne prone skin, I’m combo oily, I don’t like feeling anything on my face, and I enjoy makeup. I’m also on a retinoid. I have been using this sunscreen for over a year, and continue to come back to it when I go exploring to see if there’s something better. So far, there isn’t! The finish is natural. It’s not too shiny and not too matte. It literally just makes my skin look healthy and moisturized but not oily at all. There is absolutely no white cast. It does not pill under any makeup I’ve tried. It layers up beautifully. I’ve reapplied 3 times in a day and it manages to stay silky and not cakey on my skin. It does have a very mild, pleasant scent- which is great because I hate fragrances in products or ones that smell naturally of battery acid. It does not sting around my eyes AT ALL. It also has the added benefits of improving my skin texture and look of my complexion. Though it doesn’t add coverage, per say, I can go without my powder foundation when wearing this. Even my husband who hates wearing anything on his face and has a medium deep complexion loves this sunscreen. It’s the only one he will wear! I will continue to repurchase 🙂FairlySkinAddicited
