20 Best Sunscreen For Dry Sensitive Skin (Feb 2023 Update)

The product comes out quite thick but is a bit greasy to apply and spreads thinly so only need a bit to cover an area, unless you layer. On my south asian/brown (Fitzpatrick 4) skin tone it does leave a slight white caste, especially when applied to the face. The caste does reduce abit after 10min, but is still there and leaves a slight purple-ish tone. It also settles in lines such as on the neck and smile lines, and be careful not to get any near your eyebrows or it looks a mess! It is fine to wear this sunscreen at home or in the garden, but I wouldnt go out in public with this on my face. My sunscreen I use must have a high zinc for protect my face skin from UVA-UVB. In iherb, only two of brand contain a high zinc, this one and Copertone. I use them interchangeably. Zinc sunscreens usually don't have PA. I had to find a sunscreen that high Pa++++ for used together because my country is so hot. Sunscreen is indispensable before leaving the house every time. I don't want my face to have premature wrinkles because the sun has reduced my collagen. I have been using sunscreen since childhood. This sunscreen is super easy to apply to my kids, though it has a weird smell to it. I wish it had a natural scent additive to it. I like that it doesn't leave my hands or the kids all oily or sticky like a lot of other brands. With it being spf50 I don't have to worry about my fair skin children getting burnt in the sun and I can also use it on myself on my sensitive skin areas (face and neck). I wish the coverage lasted longer than 80 minutes because with 3 children applying lotion multiple times in such frequent increments is time consuming.Brea_33

Goes on easily, spreads well. Stays on well. Nice hint of neutral color similar to a tinted moisturizer. Slight shiny/dewy finish, similar to other sunscreen finishes. Did not cause my sensitive skin to break out. Wore it for a week in Hawaii in very humid conditions. Spent time working outside, sightseeing, hiking and swimming at the beach. This is a really great tinted sunscreen. I wouldn’t apply it every 2 hours like suggested for sunscreens however this is my new daily go to foundation/moisturizer and sunscreen all in one. I love it! The texture has a nice creamy feel to it that soaks into my skin and doesn’t just sit on it or build up. I am 47 and my skin is showing signs of aging. Make up seems to just make all the little signs of aging even worse! With this, it soaks into my skin moisturizing it and leaving a nice tint that compliments my skin well. I don’t get any lines cakiness or residue from it like regular foundations. I love that it is specifically made for my face! EltaMD UV Restore is a 100% mineral sunscreen that claims to improve sun-damaged skin. It contains Squalane, Ginger Root Extract and Saccharide Isomerate which helps with skin smoothness, minimizes dark spots and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains antioxidants and protects your skin from UV light and free radicals. Does it do all of this, I can’t say for sure but so far, I am seeing more positive results than negative (actually no negative) so I will continue using this product. Honestly, I haven’t seen any negative results. Not even any breakouts which is unusual for me. In summary, I do recommend EltaMD UV Restore for all women young and old. It is never too early to start protecting your face and skin from the sun and all of the other environmental hazards we face today. Especially with all of the UV light we are exposed to today. I really enjoy this formula but I have a few caveats with it. I find it to be gentle and nonirritating on my dry, sensitive skin. The ginger root extract does tingle when first applied but the sensation subsides. It is a fragrance-free formula which I really like (you can kind of smell the ginger root extract at first but it is not noticeable). When reading the reviews of this SPF, I noticed many people mentioning the white cast. I have a lightly pigmented skin tone so I decided to purchase the tinted version in case I needed to mix the two together. It was quite an investment, but I am satisfied with the way the sunscreen looks mixed together. The regular version alone creates too much of a white cast on my complexion. But when used in conjunction with the Tinted version, I find it to look more natural (3 pumps tinted and 1 pump regular covers my face, neck, and hands). When first applied, it does look a little shiny but since my skin is so dry the shininess does not last long and I normally apply the EltaMD Face & Body lotion on top. I do not use foundation or other makeup so I am unsure of how it may react to other products. But in my experience, the texture and application is great and a little product goes a long way. I appreciate this SPF doesn't have Hyaluronic Acid and I think it is a great option for people with sensitivities.Anonymous

I was excited to try this La Roche-Posay Anthelios 100% Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid. It comes in a nice 50ml white plastic bottle with pump dispenser and clear cap. I have no complaints about the packaging. This SPF moisturizer feels like a nice medium thickness lotion. It doesn’t exactly glide perfectly smoothly over skin like a regular light moisturizer, but is easy enough to spread. It almost feels like it might be greasy and heavy when you have it on your fingers, but fortunately, it doesn’t feel that way on my face. It makes my skin feel soft with a little hydration and dries down quite nicely shortly after application. The first time I used, I was quite generous as I usually am with sunscreen, and it did leave a faint white cast on my face. I thought it wasn’t too noticeable until I went outside and could definitely tell looking in my car mirror. After that, I used a smaller but still adequate amount, and I don’t notice the white cast as I’m wearing it right now. If you work a little more to rub it in enough, you can effectively minimize the white cast. Overall, I really do like it. I try to apply a substantial amount of sunscreen and so what I’ll probably do is put another product I have that doesn’t leave any white cast on first and then this one second. I definitely wish I would’ve started using SPF earlier as I hear everyone say. I personally love that this is a pump. My current SPS that I’m trying to use up is not a pump and I think that’s really annoying. Also it’s SPF 30. Better better than my current which is SPF 15.  this does however smell like sunscreen. Very familiar sent that everyone knows. With my other products formula doesn’t necessarily mix. But when I use alone alone I actually really like it. Says it doesn’t leave a greasy face I have extremely dry skin in my skin looks super Dewey afterwards  Which I like , I can’t necessarily see my oily sister liking this. I also have extremely pale skin. Just leave sort of a white cast, I also don’t really mind because I’m so pale the white kind of brightens my skin up. But I can’t see this working on every skin type. You however think that price point it’s a little high for what it is.  it feels like a $10 Neutrogena product. Not a $30 Ulta product. Really enjoy my skin care routine, enjoy high-end products. I see that most people dislike this spf, but it was just what I needed. The weather changes have made my skin so dry and my usual light fluid mineral sunscreen was just clinging to my dry skin. I needed something thick and hydrating, and this is it. If you are oily, you probably will not like it. If you are not pale, you probably won't like it either. I'm almost as white as a sheet of paper, so white cast isn't usually an issue for me (as opposed to tinted sunscreen which makes me look orange no matter what). It does take a bit to blend and sink in, but I try to layer it and then pat it in and it works wonders for me. I probably won't use it in the summer, but it's a nice consistency for every other season when my skin is parched.Natalia

I always hate wearing spf because it always leaves my skin oily and greasy, and they don't usually smell very good. It doesn't leave my skin oily and looks perfect underneath makeup. I like the formula of this chemical sunscreen. It has a nice milky texture, which is nice and smooth when rubbing on skin. I use this every morning. It's difficult to find a sunscreen that's more than SPF 30 and doesn't leave a white residue. My only problem is that it has fragrance but the smell is very light and not overwhelming like other sunscreens. The price is also very reasonable not so cheap and not too expensive. I was looking forward to trying Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF30, 88ml for free I'm exchange for my honest review. A sunscreen that not only provides adequate protection from the sun but also hydrates my skin was very appealing. I used this on a recent vacation, and I liked how the sunscreen protected my skin. I did not burn, though I reapplied pretty frequently. I do think it hydrated my skin as it claimed. One negative is that it comes in such a small bottle that I did run out during my vacation. You go through a lot in a sunny destination, so I wish it were available in a bottle with larger quantity. I also found that it interacted with my makeup a little bit, so I found it was better to apply the sunscreen and wait until it was completely absorbed before adding makeup. Great Go-To SunscreenI had an opportunity to try the Aveeno Sunscreen Protect+Hydrate SPF30 Duo Pack. As advertised, it comes in a 2 pack which I love because I keep one at home, and one in my purse. I would say it's more of a travel sized bottle than for the whole family. I wear SPF 30 every day (yes, even in the winter) so this was a great go-to sunscreen for daily use. It's a nice formula that isn't overly greasy or heavy. I wear it under makeup all of the time, so it's good for layering without leaving my face covered in grease. I have sensitive and dry skin, and this product works well for my skin. The thick cream moisturizes and does not irritate. It has a nice, light scent. I would recommend this product for anyone who wants a good base sunscreen to wear everyday. Probably better for individuals or two people. The size is a bit small for a bunch of people to use. If your a person of colour and you want a new sun screen, read this. I’m a dark skin woman so I’m very cautious about products with spf as they do tend to leave a white cast. This product does not do that. This is great for if you want to wear makeup like I do and look good in pictures. Plus it doesn’t leave you looking greasy and provides great protection. Nope, just no. This is a total flop of a sunscreen. I wear a factor 50 everyday and I'm used to the different types of lotions but this is so bad. I put it on and off the bat it wouldn't rub in, so even as a very pale person there is still a whitecast. Then after about 5 mins it starts to pill. I tried washing it off and trying again thinking it may have been something else on my skin causing the problem – nope! Same thing. I'm actually on holiday writing this because I don't want anyone to waste their money. The only reason it is coral safe is because noone will be buying it to cause an issue. I have tried dozens and more suncreams, high end and own brands. This lotion has a high spf of 50, and very importantly, 5 star UVA rating. It takes a couple of minutes to rub it in to get fully absorbed, but once done, it is invisible and not shiny. This was my first time trying a sunscreen from this brand and I was not that impressed. I got this one and the non-tinted version of this, and both were just not that great. They don't sit well over certain moisturizers (I use cerave cream) and can pill/bunch up depending on the skincare you have underneath. The tint on this claims to be universal, but it was noticeably darker compared to my natural skintone. I'm Asian with light/fair skin (Fitzpatrick type 2), and the color difference was so obvious. I applied this to my face and neck, and it was so dark compared to my chest. I was confused because reviews with lighter skin said the tint was fine, but it might also be that people don't apply an appropriate amount for proper spf coverage. The tint on this is really suited for those who are a solid medium/tan skintone. This is also not dark-skinned friendly (I had my friend try it out), as it leaves you looking ghostly. Also, the smell is similar to that of rubber tires. I do like that it's spf 50 and lightweight, but the cons heavily outweigh the pros for me that I would not find myself ever purchasing this again.Kev

Recently with the influx of skincare and makeup videos on apps like Instagram and tik tok, I've been seeing so many things about sunscreen and sun protection. I'm only 25 but I've started to notice some fine lines and signs of sun damage since I'm quite pale and fair skinned, which is all the more reason for me to use this. I've tried other sunscreens for the face but most of them leave a white cast or make my skin feel even more oily than it already is, or even pill up on dry areas. That was until I went searching for the best face sunscreen and found this. At first I was hesitant because of the price, and thought about it for a few months. I mean $37 for sunscreen is definitely a lot, but to those wondering if it's worth it: it definitely is. This sunscreen is absolutely amazing, it's light, fluid, makes me feel like I'm wearing nothing at all, and best of all leaves NO WHITE CAST!!! I love knowing that I'm protected and the spf 50 is great for someone like me with super pale skin. The only issue I have with it is that it does leave my face looking a little oily but usually I'll just put a bit of powder on and it looks normal. I would definitely be interested in trying something that has a more matte finish, if available. Also I will say if you use the recommended amount of sunscreen daily you will go through this bottle pretty quick. I'm so glad I decided to try this particular sunscreen from La Roche-Posay {already being happy with, -and using their SPF50 for children for both me and my son} wanting something that felt a bit lighter for the face and neck especially. I have very sensitive, reactive skin prone to redness {not diagnosed but ticks every box for Rosacea} and not only does this sunscreen not cause any irritations whatsoever, but my skin seem calmer and happier since I've started using this nearly daily and I've had no flare ups and putting it on. There's not even a hint of redness {that can even be brought on by my kind moisturiser that is great for me otherwise}. Anyone with finicky skin knows that this in itself is so nice to find, – but not only have I had these results every time for weeks now, but it also seem to make my make up look and last b e t t e r, which I find hard to expect from a sunscreen. So much so that I've stopped using a primer before make up application {and rather just use this sunscreen and then a cc cream and some translucent mineral veil, and I have had more compliments on my skin than ever}. The consistency is quite runny and light, but I find that to be a great feature for a sunscreen for the face as it melts in with no white cast whatsoever. It stays a bit tacky to the touch {and skin looks healthy 'glowy' on me}, which I now only appreciate as that might be what then has make up sit well on top too. As soon as this dripped out of the sample packet in a beige oily emulsion of sorts, I could smell a horrifically pungent odor of oil dressing for a Caprese salad I make with pure olive oil and vinegar. I have never gagged using a skin product, and this made me wretch while spreading it onto my face. While this sunscreen is genuinely transparent, it is definitely not invisible as it is very heavy on the skin and feels greasy, and left the finger with a spot of grease in the first few hours after applying too. I am a lover of thick moisturizers and face oils, and this felt like a bad cooking oil on my face, even with the smell aside – I can't imagine how this feels for people with other skin types as I have very dry skin and I hate how this is just like a thick unbreathable oil. This actually also made my eyes burn until I gave up on spreading it out & just entirely wiped this off my eye lids. I have used many strong actives on my skin for several years, so I know this is a formula issue and not my skin having a sensitive day. After feeling oily all day I ended up with dehydrated and flaking skin with a few sensitized spots on my cheeks, and washing off this sunscreen again made my eyes burn as I got this off my face completely. I heard a lot of noise about the sunscreen stick online, so I wanted to try out their liquid sunscreens as I expected an extremely well known expensive Japanese brand to have gold standard formulas. But this is one of the 2 worst sunscreen formulas I have used: I tried the other Urban Environment Oil-Free sunscreen by this brand in case I my skin just was not compatible with this thick formula . Love this sunscreen. It's very lightweight, doesn't pill, and has a smooth finish. I have oily/combo skin, but this hasn't given me any issues. My eyes don't sting from the smell, and the scent goes away after a few minutes. I only use 2 fingers instead of 4 like I normally would due to it's runny-like consistency. I've also tested this in the shower and it's definitely water resistant. No running or stinging eyes. It also works well as a primer. Occasionally, I will just use concealer and tinted spf/moisturizer to go for that "no makeup" look, and the hold this has on my products is sensational. This sunscreen will definitely be on rotation for me, especially during the dry winter months.A

I'd give it a 3.5. I have dry skin, this is oily at first but sets with time. I have no problems with it under make-up from sheer to full-coverage. I have no problems with the performance. I like it but don't love it. But, given other sunscreens out there, I would repurchase. Just not top of the list to repurchase. My important points are: 1) It says it's a 2oz bottle but the bottle says 1.6 oz. Which one is it? 2) Strong fragrance. My eyes are sensitive to the fragrance of sunscreens and makes them burn. I became worried when I smelled this because the scent is pretty strong. However, although it is a strong fragrance, it doesn't bother my eyes like other brands do. And the scent dissipates, unlike others. So, although it does have a fragrance, it didn't bother my eyes. Note, I don't actually use this on the undereye and lid, I only use mineral sunscreen for that. But the scent of other sunscreens can really bother my eyes throughout the day and this one didn't. 3) As stated, I have dry skin. So I actually appreciate the oiliness of the product. this sunscreen could be good, depending on what you’re looking for. it’s good for sensitive skin; it didn’t break me out, and it’s not oily, if anything it’s more drying. it is thick and hard to blend in, but it does eventually blend. it leaves a pretty bad white cast, makes me look like a zombie. also, when you reapply it feels like you have so many layers on your face. i like that its a physical sunscreen that isn’t going to break me out and it doesn’t have chemicals, but i think if i use it in the summer when i’m slightly tan the white cast will be extremely noticeable. ive mixed it with moisturizer that has spf in it and it was easier to blend with less white cast, but i’m afraid the moisturizer is diluting it. it’s a good amount for the price though so if you’re curious, it’s worth trying out.C

The brand is a reputable one and I was happy to find this sensitive skin sunscreen. The cream is very thick in consistency and does not spread easily. It takes some time to rub it on the skin. It's quite affordable but little expensive than other common brands. The cream stays on for few hours and needed to be reapplied. The best part was it did not cause allergies or rashes. I am an older adult – "Irish red" – with basal cell history – live in mid Maryland – got he product the week of 5-1-18, had a few days of 80 – 90 degree full or mostly sunny days. I normally avoid the sun altogether, wearing total clothing coverage, wide brim hats, and zinc ointment on my lips if I do go out during the day (cutting the grass). I even do most of my outdoor yard work in pre dawn hours. Thought would put the product to the full test. Aveeno's good reputation preceded my getting the Baby Continuous Protection Lotion – what prompted me to give it the full test was the brand, zinc oxide broad spectrum SPF 50 sweat and water resistant up to 80 minutes. I chose a day with no clouds, upper 80, lower 90s – went out mid day with a T-shirt, long pants, small cap hat to cover my scalp and hair, work gloves ( took to working in the yard where no shade for exactly 80 minutes ) even timed it. I put the lotion on exposed arms, ears, face, neck (front and back). With a poor or no sun screen at all – I would normally already be showing a developing (bad) burn with this type of exposure. When I ended my time it the sun – I could see my face and exposed arms were a "flushed" color – I was hoping and assuming from working in the heat for the 80 minutes. Got inside, cooled down and the flush color had disappeared – didn't want to claim any victories until I gave my skin several hours to see if a burn was going to show up. Waited 5 hours, took a shower and voila – no evidence of any kind of skin color change. I considered this a big win knowing my skin the way I do. Would highly recommend for any age – it is noted Pediatrician recommended. From my own personal experience – I would recommend careful use of any and all product on the very young – even in the shade, most skin covered – just face exposed, under an umbrella their tender skin can pick up the burn of sun rays just from reflecting from other objects, e.g., sand is a big one. Their tiny cheeks can pick up a bad burn that won't show up til late in a day – frequent application – follow any doctor instruction for the very young. I will keep buying this sunscreen until they stop producing it or I die, whichever comes first. I really struggled with finding sunscreen that doesn't make me too oily, give me a horrendous white cast, or make me break out, and this is it. I never get burnt wearing it, and it doesn't pill or clog my pores. It is super smooth and plays well with whatever products you use over or under it. In the summer, I usually skip moisturizer and just use this as my base layer, and I think if you're concerned about excess oiliness this is the way to go. As a disclaimer, I usually rock a somewhat dewy look (too much work to fight what nature gave me) but I don't like outright oiliness and for me this hits that sweet spot. I have to say that I really loved this products. I read everyone’s comments but I gave a try. I do have a few tips 1. If you have a white cast, you may be using a lot more. My suggestion is to use a nickel size amount of sunscreen. Dot your face with it (one for forehead, two for each cheek, side of nose, one dot for chin). DONT rub it, but instead pat it. 2. Give it at least 10 minutes before you add makeup. I like to give sunscreen a minute to set in so I feel more comfortable with makeup. I realized that the longer you wait, the better makeup goes well for skin 3. Don’t believe when it says Matt priming. Don’t get me wrong, it is Matte but it doesn’t blurr your pores. It just leaves a soft touch (like a tissue paper) but I do recommend to wear an extra primer just in case if you’re oily or combination 4. Give it a few days to adjust with it, you may see a white cast but after you keep rubbing, it eventually goes away The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that it’s a small bottle size and I just wished it had more. It is a beautiful sunscreen, minimal citrus scent, no crazy white cast and not oily. That perfect medium. Texture feels like a light moisturizer. I have read a few comments about people breaking out but it could be the fact that it is a chemical sunscreen? I’ve had small cheek breakouts here and there but honestly, could be due to my hormones and not the sunscreen. The price point I think is what makes me come back to this sunscreen!! I’ve bought three tubes of this within the last few months. I keep one at home, in my purse and at work lol (I can’t be the only one.) I bought this while on vacation in FL and now I love it. I have been trying to find a sunscreen that works for me and this does. I have eczema and very sensitive skin but this doesn’t irritate me. My eyes are also very sensitive and I’m usually fine with this if I apply lightly around my eyes. The white cast is not great but if I rub it in for 30-60 seconds and follow with a blending brush I can get it to go away but I’m also very pale. When you sweat it can turn white (I had that happen in FL) so watch for that but for everyday use that’s not an issue for me. I despise when products pill on my face as many sunscreens do but that hasn’t been an issue for me. I also look very shiny with some other sunscreens and I don’t love that but this one finishes down much less shiny I wouldn’t say it’s matte though. So far it’s been one of my favorites. I have been using this as my daily face sunscreen for over a decade. I have tried other brands and no other brand compares. I am asian with a pale complexion and don’t wear makeup. I like this because: 1. Goes on quickly and blends quickly 2. Makes my complexion look better – more even toned; reduces visibility of age spots 3. Does not get greasy or make my face shine as the day goes on 4. Provides good all day protection – used at amusement parks, on the beach in Hawaii I would cry if they stopped making this. This lotion STINKS of floral fragrance. Even tiny amounts are unbearable. Definitely avoid if you have odor sensitivities or fragrance allergies. It also doesn’t last very long – I work in a cubicle in an office with no windows, and I get noticeable sun exposure walking to the bus terminal in the afternoon. I don’t have this rapid on-skin degradation issue with other brands of sunscreens, despite the fact they all suggest reapplying every 2 hours. I'm a Supergoop fanatic. I've tried almost all their face products. Superscreen is my absolute Can't-live-without-it favorite. It's lightweight, soaks right into the skin and disappears while moisturizing my dry sensitive face. Very light scent and gentle enough to apply to eyelids, neck and chest. I use a healthy layer of Superscreen before using one of their primers, and it makes a perfect base under makeup or a polished feel for no makeup days. I have tried so many daily moisturizers with sunscreen and all of them leave my face almost dripping with greasy by the middle of the day. Superscreen goes on like a rich moisturizer and settles in nicely to my skin. This isn’t matte on my skin, I don’t think anything ever will be. But it definitely doesn’t melt as the day goes on. It hydrates and plumps my skin and gives me a dewy complexion. I was a bit concerned about the size of the jar for the price point but it is such a rich cream that a little bit goes a long way. And most importantly, as a sunscreen, it definitely works! I wear this over a daily serum. I do not wear any foundation or other makeup, occasionally I will wear a bronzing powder or cream blush so I can’t speak for how it wears under makeup.Leslie M.

After getting frustrated with other organic sunscreen products not effectively smoothing out the harsh white tint of titanium dioxide and/or making me breakout, I decided to give this product a go and WOW – what an improvement! It glides on smooth and sheer and leaves you with a nice shiny dewy look and best of all no breakouts or white face after! Easy to use under primer and foundation. The packaging absolutely needs to be reviewed. Once you get 2/3rds through, and try squeezing the product out, the packaging just splits open. Think tomato puree tube, but absolutely un-rollable. I did like the SPF though. It goes on thick but melts in to the skin, unscented, no white cast. Nice under makeup or on it's own. I would buy again if the packaging was different.Elaine

I had high hopes for this everyday moisturizer that had the bonus of SPF 30, but after applying it and letting it dry, there were too many issues to say it was worth it. If I had even the slightest patch of dry skin, it would cling to it for dear life and leave this gross white cast, crusty, flaky mess on top of it; not cute! If I tried to flick it off with my nail, it would just make it worse. It would also do the same thing near my hairline, so when I tried to get rid of it, all it did was make me look like I had dandruff. Then makeup application… This sunscreen only works well if you PAT a powder on top of your face (that's right, no rubbing whatsoever, or using any brushes, and beauty blenders are a risk because their surface has a slight texture that might pick up some of the sunscreen creating, you guessed it, Flaketown!) Anytime I would apply even the tiniest bit of concealer and tried to blend it in (fingers work the best, and go slow on release), it would move the sunscreen and flake it up. Thank goodness I don't wear tons of makeup, because I don't know how anyone could go out looking flawless with this stuff! The only saving grace about this product is that it's SPF 30.iHerb Customer

I bought this for my face, but stopped using it after about a month. In the afternoon, my face would be chalky under my makeup. Zinc oxide is an important ingredient for dull sun protection, but I think there are brands that provide similar witout the white residue–not sure if zinc will always leave white streaks, but it's possible. However, the fact that I was breaking out AND that the protection is only 30spf made me look for something else. I now use this on less reactive skin on my neck and arms. I'm still looking for something with 50 spf, uva and uvb protection. But the real plus is the pump dispenser, make your morning routine much faster. I loved not having to open caps all the time. The initial feel is silky, not too sticky after application, but it's not the easiest to spread. The lack of scent was highly welcome!iHerb Customer

Only a couple times in my life have I hated a product enough to leave a review about it, and this is one of them. This stuff leaves such a terrible white cast, but it's sneaky about it. At first, it appears fine, but after a few minutes of drying, no matter how much time and care you put into rubbing it into your skin, your face will be covered in white streaks. I am the palest person I know, I need the whitest concealer on the market, and this stuff makes me look like a sickly ghost child who was deprived of sunlight for years before her untimely death. What's worse, is if you try to rub it in more once the streaks appear, it just pills and flakes off your face. I once pressed my face against my partner's shoulder during a hug, and when I pulled away, his black sweater had a white print of my face on it from this stuff. It also claims to be oil free, which is great, but it's somehow still so greasy that I can feel it on my face all day. I cannot WAIT to be done with the tube so I can never ever buy it again. I like this broad-spectrum face cream. The spf is adequate for my skin. It is fairly thick but still workable. It doesn't cause irritation on my skin. It is a cream sunblock that dries to an almost invisible shield that covers the skin. I don't find it has much scent maybe other than the usual sunblock smell. It is priced just right. Neutrogena sunblock is a reliable product that works as it should. Always a good idea to have one in your bag. You can even wear it under makeup. Hi everyone. My skin type is mildly oily-combo (oily in certain areas & dry-to-normal in others such as cheeks and oilier in my t-zone area), sensitive skin. I was looking for a buildable, sheer coverage, non-greasy, non-pilling, not super casty mineral sunscreen with either purely zinc and/or titanium dioxide. Also of course I am open to combination sunscreens, so long as their gentle enough, as I’ll be having a cool peel co2 laser and prp micro needling bio-facial treatments done on my neck soon on the 13th of April. Anyways, was basically looking for a quality mineral sunscreen which looked cosmetically elegant on the skin. I had seen a lot of positive reviews of this particular sunscreen on target and online , but for me, although it felt very light and not super heavy, upon closer inspection, I noticed that it had a tendency to collect in areas of my face with hair, such as my facial hair stubble, eyebrows and even my hairline a little bit unfortunately, resulting in slight purplish colored patches on my skin due to the cast this sunscreen was leaving across my face and all. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this sunscreen, because unless you have zero stubble like me, than sunscreen will leave a weird cast, when using 2 finger lengths of sunscreen. Pros of it are that it goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel greasy nor pill using the full amount. Just don’t like how it collects where there is hairJeff

I’ve been wanting to try this mineral sunscreen for a while now so this tiny bottle was the perfect sample size! I got about 3 uses out of it. To start, I have a medium skin tone (I’m of south Asian descent) so finding a mineral sunscreen without a white cast is very difficult. This sunscreen glided onto my skin so nicely and left no chalky feeling, unlike most mineral sunscreens. It does take a while to blend in and did ultimately leave a minimal white cast (though it did go away on its own after a little while). I don’t know that I would recommend this sunscreen for skin tones darker than a medium/tan. I am also very acne prone and I don’t normally like having to rub in a sunscreen so much, since it irritates my skin. However, the consistency is like a lotion so the application didn’t bother my skin at all. My only small complaint is that it is a bit drying, and I do have dry skin. For those on the drier side, I recommend applying an oil to your face before applying the sunscreen. That helped keep my skin moisturized under the sunscreen! Overall, I thought this was a great product and I’m looking forward to purchasing the larger size soon!skumar

I usually love Clinique products and really wanted to love this. I give it 5 stars for the ability to apply to face without using bare hands however this product needs to be rubbed in. If not it is super heavy. It made me very greasy. It may work if you are out in the pool or beach. But as an everyday use i do not recommend. It is not as light weight as I imagined it would be. As my skin shows more of life's joys, I'm wearing less makeup and using cream based products. I like to follow up 3-step by swiping this across face and neck, add a bit of cream blush, highlighter, mascara and I'm good to go! In less than 5 minutes! This protects without adding color and leaves a lovely glow (and I don't mean hot-flash sweaty). I've used this for about a year, spending whole days boating on the lake or just life about town with wonderful protection. I like using this as a daily lip balm and even under a bit of lip color. One tube lasts a long time. I still have a good amount after nearly a year. It's convenient and easy, not requiring additional travel size. I do like this product. I have fair, mature skin so age spots and redness can be a problem even if I'm in the sun for 5 minutes. I put sunscreen on in the morning with my makeup, but have been confused about what to do the rest of the day. This product is clear, I can easily carry in my purse, and I can put it on quickly without messing up my makeup. I put it on when I leave work and walk to my car. I use it on left cheek a lot when driving. I tried a tinted stick and the clear Neutrogena, but the formulas were not as good. Will buy again.2sday

Literally horrible. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before purchasing. Usually do but I was out of town and picking up some essentials from Target and came across this and hardly read it… saw 60 and “NEW” so I figured I’d try it. I usually like Neutrogena sunscreens and they’re a pretty safe option. Not this one. All of the reviews say “not for face” and I wish I would’ve read that prior to using on my face! The skin on my face is horribly irritated- puffy eyes and very dry scaly skin under my eyes… dried out my skin very badly. Do not use this on your face. Probably safe on the rest of your body but I’m not even willing to try. This is day 3 of not using this sunscreen and my face is still irritated and puffy. Weird orange tint to sunscreen and not sure why that is necessary. Kind of pricey but I overlooked the price because I know Neutrogena is typically good.kbraz

Been using this for a few months now and can say that I love it. Like it says for me it does not cause breakouts which has been an issue in the past with many facial sunscreens. That's why I waited a while to review I wanted to put this through the ringer. So I'm about to give you an in depth review of my usage over the last few months. First off this does go nicely over many many many facial products and treatments as I have a whole repertoire of products that I've used or tested or tried out for the sake of it. And this applies nicely. I like to warm it up in my hands and then press onto my face and rub in like you would a moisturizer and make sure to get your ears as well. It does not leave a white cast on my face which is nice and doesn't feel oily or greasy because it's oil free. It can feel a bit gritty for some reason but I've gotten past that it's all good. I aloow it to sink in for about a good 10 minutes if I'm doing makeup and then I begin my routine. Have not had any problems doing makeup with this underneath as well. Works fantastic. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because if you have a face full of makeup and you'd like to reapply this is not it! Because as we know 2 hour application is best if you're out and about in the sun. Which usually I am all day. So I'd recommend a spray product or a powder product for an alternative. Now if you're going natural for the day even though we don't like makeup wipes maybe carry some miceller wipes and wipe your face down and reapply to prevent product build up which even though this is breakout and oil free if you're reapplying as directed. Imagine a 12 hour day you'd be reapplying 6 times that's a lot of product going onto your face to be cleansed off at the end of the day. This is why some form of wipes stay within my reach for easy cleaning to make reapplication a breeze and end of the day cleansing a bit easier. But I only recommend this if you have or know a brand that works for you. My friend who also works outside and is religious about sunscreen uses a facial cleaning water product and reusable cotton pads. But overall. This sunscreen is great haven't gotten burnt and I'm in the sun all day every day in hot Louisiana.jessica.h

I have acne-prone combo skin, so I'm always searching for a good SPF for my face. Even though I bought this one for my body, I was surprised by how good it turned out for my face. Its texture is very very light, it feels like a fluid. It did not cause me any breakouts (which is the most important thing for me) and it is very hydrating (Eucerin Oil Control is very drying, for example). It doesn't burn the eyes and it doesn't have any specific scent. The cons are that it leaves a greasy layer on your face (but it's NOT HEAVY at all) which makes the face shiny. It also leaves a little bit of white cast that goes away after it's absorbed. However, I DO recommend it. I would repurchase.iHerb Customer

I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews, but I am so happy I took the chance. It is fragrance free and fungal acne safe. It also leaves a nice glow on the skin and it does not pill when rubbed in. If you want a sunscreen that completely disappears into the skin, then this is not the one for you. It leaves a nice sheen/glow which I like for my dry skin. I don’t use this on my face as any chemical sunscreen has the potential to burn my eyes, but I love it for my body. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out. I’m hoping this product stays around for a long time! Great product! For someone who has eczema prone skin this is a win! It’s a chemical sunscreen which I don’t mind, especially as a hispanic. (NO WHITE CAST) I would say a perfect dupe for Supergoop play sunscreen! has all the same ingredients minus all the oils supergoop has but that’s a good thing! Has a satin natural finish which is great! I follow the instructions as the label says and it works just great! I decided to try this because I'd gone through 4 bottles of the SkinMedica Essential Defense SPF (tinted), which was the SPF that converted me to wearing daily sunscreen. Given this more specific "anti-aging" formula I figured it would be a fancier version of what I already loved. Now that I've gone through most of the bottle, my verdict is that it's…okay. It's much thicker and doesn't play as nice with my skincare as the Essential Defense does. If I apply it too soon after my moisturizer it clumps up. Since it's thicker I also feel its presence on my face a little more than the Essential Defense. I'm about to be 30 years old, so maybe my skin isn't mature enough to appreciate this formula, but I didn't really notice any skin benefits. Don’t get me wrong, this is an incredible product (it should be for the price) but it isn't my favorite SkinMedica SPF.Leah

I have oily, acne-prone skin and have really enjoyed using this sunscreen. I've had to buy several before I could find one that didn't make me look greasy. This one doesn't make me look completely matte, more just a slight glow. My only complaint is in the cap. After a couple weeks of use the cap no longer closes over all of the way. I have the tube sitting upside down on my counter so it doesn't fall over and spill out. Fix the cap and this will be 5/5 stars! But it might just be a fluke issue so either way I will continue to buy and recommend this product. 🙂Nurse Hallauer

My skin is not sensitive first of all. I used this product only once but after a few minutes, I felt my skin burning. It lasted for several hours and it was so irritating that I needed to wash it off. I even found some reddish spots on my cheeks that look similar to reacted skin when you over-exfoliate or use too much retinol products. Again, I don't have a sensitive skin. My skin tolerates most things. I have even used a sunscreen that has ethanol (component of denatured alcohol) as its second ingredient for 3 months with no problem. But this product just burns my skin. Not only it is irritating, but it also feels greasy. To me, non-greasy sunscreen is like a water gel that sinks into your skin well and feels like there's nothing on your skin. When I put this on, it just feels like a thick oily layer on the surface of my skin, it also makes my skin look oily and does not pair well with make up. I called their customer service and they said I can return it but I have to pay the shipping fee. So I feel like it's a waste of my time and money at this point to even make a return. I really like other products from Paula's Choice and I wanted to love this product but will not buy sunscreens from them again.Kath

I have trusted Paula's Choice for a long time and made a huge mistake by not reading the ingredient list before I bought this. That part is on me… that being said, I was under the impression that Paula's Choice goes to great lengths to use ingredients that are proven to be safe. I am ONLY able to use mineral sunscreens due to an issue with dermatitis when going in the sun after applying chemical sunscreens. I used this and my skin started burning. Despite keeping it far away from my eyes, the sunscreen somehow ends up getting in my eyes; they burn all day until I wash my face and liberally apply eye drops. It makes my face greasy all day long, even under a mattifier, makeup, and setting powder. I have had to use this as a body sunscreen only when I don't plan to be in the sun for long. I also will only use this when swimming in a pool due to the potential harm to coral reefs and other invertebrates. I hate wasting products but I will likely end up throwing this away. The list of ingredients are horrible and I do not trust that they are reef safe or safe for people. I am incredibly disappointed and wish Paula's Choice would stop selling this all together. If consumers prefer a chemical sunscreen, there are plenty of skincare brands (that don't care about the environment or people) that would be delighted to line their pockets by selling that garbage.Jennifer S.
