this sunscreen could be good, depending on what you’re looking for. it’s good for sensitive skin; it didn’t break me out, and it’s not oily, if anything it’s more drying. it is thick and hard to blend in, but it does eventually blend. it leaves a pretty bad white cast, makes me look like a zombie. also, when you reapply it feels like you have so many layers on your face. i like that its a physical sunscreen that isn’t going to break me out and it doesn’t have chemicals, but i think if i use it in the summer when i’m slightly tan the white cast will be extremely noticeable. ive mixed it with moisturizer that has spf in it and it was easier to blend with less white cast, but i’m afraid the moisturizer is diluting it. it’s a good amount for the price though so if you’re curious, it’s worth trying out.C
The brand is a reputable one and I was happy to find this sensitive skin sunscreen. The cream is very thick in consistency and does not spread easily. It takes some time to rub it on the skin. It's quite affordable but little expensive than other common brands. The cream stays on for few hours and needed to be reapplied. The best part was it did not cause allergies or rashes. I am an older adult – "Irish red" – with basal cell history – live in mid Maryland – got he product the week of 5-1-18, had a few days of 80 – 90 degree full or mostly sunny days. I normally avoid the sun altogether, wearing total clothing coverage, wide brim hats, and zinc ointment on my lips if I do go out during the day (cutting the grass). I even do most of my outdoor yard work in pre dawn hours. Thought would put the product to the full test. Aveeno's good reputation preceded my getting the Baby Continuous Protection Lotion – what prompted me to give it the full test was the brand, zinc oxide broad spectrum SPF 50 sweat and water resistant up to 80 minutes. I chose a day with no clouds, upper 80, lower 90s – went out mid day with a T-shirt, long pants, small cap hat to cover my scalp and hair, work gloves ( took to working in the yard where no shade for exactly 80 minutes ) even timed it. I put the lotion on exposed arms, ears, face, neck (front and back). With a poor or no sun screen at all – I would normally already be showing a developing (bad) burn with this type of exposure. When I ended my time it the sun – I could see my face and exposed arms were a "flushed" color – I was hoping and assuming from working in the heat for the 80 minutes. Got inside, cooled down and the flush color had disappeared – didn't want to claim any victories until I gave my skin several hours to see if a burn was going to show up. Waited 5 hours, took a shower and voila – no evidence of any kind of skin color change. I considered this a big win knowing my skin the way I do. Would highly recommend for any age – it is noted Pediatrician recommended. From my own personal experience – I would recommend careful use of any and all product on the very young – even in the shade, most skin covered – just face exposed, under an umbrella their tender skin can pick up the burn of sun rays just from reflecting from other objects, e.g., sand is a big one. Their tiny cheeks can pick up a bad burn that won't show up til late in a day – frequent application – follow any doctor instruction for the very young. Pros: this product doesn't sting my sensitive eyes, and it prevents sunburn. Cons: It settles into the lines of my skin and makes them white. I end up with white lines across my neck, and the visual effect is similar to old age stage makeup. It makes the lines look deeper and more severe. Also, the performance under makeup is appallingly bad. Utterly woeful. I tried it with Bareminerals Barepro pressed powder, and I also tried it with the Lisa Eldridge longwearing liquid foundation, and the makeup looked nice when I first applied it, but then it quickly degraded over the next few hours. The powder foundation cracked so badly that it ended up looking like I had flaky snake scales all over my face. I was still at work, and I took a tissue and savagely wiped away the worst bits. The longwearing foundation fared better, but it split and cracked like a desert floor. The foundation I've been using instead for everyday wear, that doesn't sting my eyes but plays well with makeup, is the Supergoop Play. I get the big jug of it and use it on my face and body, and my makeup sits on top of it beautifully. I’ve recently started purchasing La Roche Posay products and am super happy with my purchase’s. This is the last thing I bought. I’m totally in love with it. It applies perfectly on my face and arms and leaves no white cast. Normally I spend $38-$65 dollars just for my face sunscreen but no more. This one is top dog now. It’s mostly physical with a tad bit of chemical but I’m ok with that. I use to try so hard and use products that were 100% clean and they are so expensive but what people don’t realize is there are non clean ingredients in practically everything. Makeup, skincare, hair products, ect. At least with La Roche Posay I don’t worry about it. It’s fragrance free and doesn’t have sulfates and the majority of the other bad stuff. This brand was made for sensitive skin and mine sure does love it. I’ve been using their face and body wash for dry to extra dry skin on my face then their face and body cream on my face followed by this amazing sunscreen. Who says you have to spend a fortune on skincare for it to work? Next product of theirs I want to try is the hylaronic acid serum. Alone it is very dewy and just the finish for hot dry Florida days. When the humidity kicks up, adding some powder to prevent transfer and keep it from feeling tacky is all you need. Perfect product! Nice texture — silky but not oily. It leaves more of a dewy, than an oily look. It's unscented, and water-based with none of the unhealthy ingredients that are already banned in other countries, but that can be sold legally in US cosmetics. It also contains some good ingredients such as niacinamide. The tint works for my light skin. It looks dark when it comes out of the tube but blended in well and has just enough pigment to even skintone without looking like you are wearing makeup. (For reference, my skin tone is about the same as Neutrogena Healthy Skin products in Fair to Light 20 tone.) It has a warm undertone, so would probably be better for people with the same. I'm not sure if it would leave a light cast for darker skin tones, but I don't believe it would leave that ghostly white cast some zinc oxide sunscreens do. I’ve tried most of the Sun Screens at Sephora, plus UltaMd ones and a few amazing Japanese ones. This is my favorite (along with the Mermaid UV Skin gel Japanese one but it’s full chemical no zinc). The texture is amazing. My skin is hydrated but not greasy. It leaves with moisturized, wet, fresh, glass skin shine- a glow which is NOT a weird greasy film or a weird glitter sparkle like other sunscreens. Great for dry skin, and it has never irritated my skin, I even use it on my eyes lids and my eyes have never felt a sting. My only qualm is that it’s only 30 spf. Biossance, please make a 50 spf!!!!! I use this guy as my daily, casual, indoor with small errands to run sunscreen. But I do use other 50 spf sunscreens when I’m outdoors or when it’s very sunny outside. I don’t feel comfortable wearing by this as the weather heats up now in Spring. I know however that this will be my winter go-to, when I need something moisturizing and comfortable without such a need for high spf (although again, 50 spf would be much preferred). Let me start by saying DO NOT use this if you have dark skin. I’m the palest person I know and you can see this on my skin. I think that’s just the nature of zinc oxide sunscreens but I’m not totally sure. I used to really like this and I had bought it because of Hyram like a lot of other people. One of my biggest concerns with this sunscreen is the fact that it has Isostearic Acid which is a well known acne causer but I didn’t realize this until my dermatologist pointed it out and it was too late to return this. I have not noticed any breakouts yet that I can contribute to this sunscreen but just know it’s a possibility because of that ingredients, Cosdna actually ranks it as a 5 in the acne category. My other quarrel with this sunscreen is just the way it applies. This is not moisturizing even though it might seem like it when you first put it on. It dries QUICK and will not blend into the skin properly if you let it dry before it’s fully rubbed in and you’ll also have white streaks on your face. This also dries down sticky and will have a bunch of hairs and dust stick to your face. I’ve also found that throughout the day at work, I’ll have white flakes pilling and flaking off on my chin and it’s very noticeable. As for actual sun protection, I’ve never actually used this in a setting where I would get sunburnt, I use this for daily wear so I’m not sure how well it protects against the sun yet. I came to the reviews in desperation to hopefully find some answers as to why this highly rated product wrecked my skin for over half a year. I’ve never had skin issues except for the occasional dry patch during winter time, but five doctor visits and three steroids later to treat the intense itchiness, redness, flakiness, and wrinkles from dry skin (!), I’m reflecting on how this might have started. Around January 2022, I tried two new products for myself: Skinfix face wash and Biossance’s sheer mineral sunscreen. I had returned the Skinfix face wash thinking that was the culprit – the irony here is that the Sephora employee said it was a “bad batch” and that there had been some sort of recall. I continued using the Biossance sunscreen because I always use SPF outside and I liked that it was a mineral sunscreen, left absolutely no white cast or pilling, and made my skin glow. However, I’ve noticed that when I go out and use this sunscreen, I have super itchy rashes and hives appearing on my face and/or neck. The redness and irritation can last for days, or on and off for months as I have been dealing with this. I’ve been making sure I’m hydrated and moisturized, so I’ve had my normal skin for almost a week now – until today. I used the Biossance SPF again and within 20 minutes of being outside, I began to feel the tingle on my jawline. It was too late and now I’m sure it’s been this product this whole time. The dermatologist had dismissed the SPF initially as a culprit, but seeing these reviews..yikes. I have literally lost sleep by using this product because I have been clawing at my face and neck from the intense irritation. I have oily skin but this sunscreen does not feel greasy on me and even though I did not set my face with powder, I did not get extra oily after a few hours, so I really love the feel of this sunscreen. I also have a medium skin tone with warm undertones so it's been very difficult for me to find a mineral sunscreen that leaves no white cast. When I initially applied it, the white cast was horrible. I waited 15 minutes to see if it would get better but the white cast was still there. After 40 mins to 1 hour later though, it was completely invisible on my face! I was so amazed that a mineral sunscreen left no white cast at all on my face. Overall, this will now be one of my go-to sunscreens because it doesn't feel greasy and leaves no white cast. Okay hear me out. Whether you are darkskin or not with sensitive skin, and/or oily combination and looking for a mineral sunscreen that is non-comedogenic, look no further. First off for reference I am Fenty 450 and I am able to successfully blend this into my skin without a white cast. And I wear it everyday, and I love it. It does take a bit of finesse but it’s possible. This is how I apply it: I take ONE pump at a time, sometimes I’ll add an extra half for coverage, applied to moisturized skin (that has a bit of oil in it). I currently use a few drops of rose hip oil from the ordinary before this. If your skin is totally dry good luck getting it to spread without looking white – it’ll likely sit on top of your skin. It’s best if your skin is moisturized (with oil based moisturizer) and not fully dried down yet. Then, I spread it in my hands and PAT it into my skin in a thin layer all over, after that I begin to rub. Here’s where the oil part before helps – you end up rubbing less and therefore irritating your skin less because it has something to grip onto. I don’t know the science behind this, I’ve just been using this since January and I’ve figured out how to make it work for me. Then, you need to wait 10-20 minutes to fully let it sink into your skin. This isn’t a rush and go type of sunscreen, you will be out here on these streets looking crazy. This product is marketed towards acne-prone skin, and I've read some reviews where Supergoop! staff respond to folks saying it's not by telling them it is indeed great for acne-prone skin b/c it contains zinc oxide. Okay, BUT it also contains Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Myristate all w/in the top 7 ingredients. Those w/acne prone skin know to avoid these ingredients, ESPECIALLY when they are listed w/in the first 7 or so. Additionally, it contains Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract — highly comedogenic, you have got to be kidding me that anyone thinks this is a totally safe choice for those with acne-prone skin. As someone who has an insane amount of difficulty finding a sunscreen that won't give me aggressive, painful breakouts, I'm honestly disappointed in the lack of knowledge around this sort of thing. It would be helpful for Supergoop! to read up on the publicly-available data we have regarding this, and which ingredients are considered best avoided or best considering avoiding for those prone to breakouts. Everyone's skin is different, so when it comes to comedogenic stuff your mileage may always vary. It will leave an ever so slight shine on your face, which translates to a glow on my skin, so if you are oily or prefer a completely matte look then this product probably isn't for you. I find it wears lovely under my foundation–something that can be a challenge with sunscreens. I love this formula so much but had to knock a star off because of the use of chemical filters. If this sunscreen was purely physical it would be a 5/5 holy grail formulation. I keep testing out all-mineral sunscreens and always come back to this one. I have been using this sunscreen for over a year, and continue to come back to it when I go exploring to see if there’s something better. So far, there isn’t! The finish is natural. It’s not too shiny and not too matte. It literally just makes my skin look healthy and moisturized but not oily at all. There is absolutely no white cast. It does not pill under any makeup I’ve tried. It layers up beautifully. I’ve reapplied 3 times in a day and it manages to stay silky and not cakey on my skin. It does have a very mild, pleasant scent- which is great because I hate fragrances in products or ones that smell naturally of battery acid. It does not sting around my eyes AT ALL. Biore UV Watery Essence SPF50 PA++++ is a chemical sunscreen that has a light-weight feeling yet it effectively protects from strong UV rays. This Japanese sunscreen features UV blocking ingredients such as water capsules which when applied to the skin create a pleasant, watery veil. And with the micro-defense formula it ensures full and even coverage down to micro level crevices. I like how this isn’t think like most facial sunscreens. It’s lightweight with a consistency of a gel-like serum. It does have some slip though. It absorbs fast and I had no issue of a white cast or stickiness being left behind. Despite this being waterproof it actually washes off quite well. It’s a higher SPF than most so it’s slightly more effective at blocking damaging free radicals and preventing premature aging. My biggest con is that alcohol is the second ingredient. And you can definitely smell it upon opening. I would recommend this to those who hate the heavy feeling of sunscreen on their face and those who have oily/combination skin. I tried this sunscreen on my search for a new favorite as this one is well liked. I really like that it is an essence/serum like texture as opposed to be in creamy/thicker/extra moisturizing. My face always breaks out with anything that is extra moisturizing, creamy or thick. Alcohol is high on the list of ingredients, and I have found that as long as I carefully apply the product surprisingly it does not make my eyes sting, water or burn. Whereas with many other sunscreens this tends to happen. I have gone to our local pool on several instances while wearing this sunscreen and anytime my face gets wet the product does run into my eyes causing them to water and burn. I have always waited at least 30 minutes or more before swimming. This seems like it would be a really great sunscreen for some.Krista

I've been looking for a sunscreen for my extremely sensitive and rosacea-prone oily skin. This sunscreen blends in quickly (it's a liquidy texture rather than a cream) and makes skin look brighter and smoother – somehow healthier. It may leave a bit of a white cast, but I don't mind because it tones down my redness. Pores look a bit smoother. It doesn't slide around and make an oily mess on the face like many sunscreens do on me after a few hours of wear. It gives a "glowy" finish without being overly oily or greasy. I love the simple ingredients and that it doesn't cause any irritation, and I cause use it around my sensitive eyes without stinging or bothering my contacts. As a person of color, I have found in the past that other tinted sunscreens I've tried are targeted to much lighter skin tones than mine, which is frustrating. My skin is also a combination of dry with a very oily t-zone as well as sensitive to harsh chemicals and fragrances. This has caused me to break out or appear greasy when trying other products. However, the Solaire UV Mineral Multi-Defense Tinted Sunscreen addressed both these issues for me beautifully. I decided to test this free sample I received from BzzAgent on a day my daughter had a softball tournament because I knew I'd be at the field in full sun all day. The formulation felt smooth and lightweight on my face, which I appreciate as someone who rarely wears foundation. I was pleasantly surprised that the tint blended perfectly with my skin tone. Imperfections in my skin were slightly hidden while still appearing very natural, which I prefer. I reapplied the sunscreen once later in the day and was pleased that there was no flaking, build up, or noticeable issue with the application. I even shared it with a fellow team mom who had forgotten her sunscreen, and she also loved the lightweight feel and coverage. Overall, I really enjoyed using this product and would recommend it to all my POC who've had difficulty finding a time sunscreen that works with darker skin. Absolutely awful sunscreen. I understand that mineral sunscreen will always have some type of white cast, but this one was terrible. I had people come up to me in public and ask me what was on my face! LOL! It was that bad!! I'm like a 2 on the fitz scale so I'm pretty light skin and the cast was just so bad. It also felt very chalky, & drying on my face, yet at the same time looked greasy and felt heavy. This sunscreen really clung to, and accentuated dry patches on my face that I didn't even know was there. It burned upon application too, which I was so disappointed about because I heard fairly good things about this brand being good for people with sensitize skin. It is definitely not worth the price, at all. If you scroll down the reviews, you can also see multiple fake reviews. I see a lot of negative reviews of this product, but I honestly I think it’s pretty amazing. I was taking a chance buying this, because my skin hasn’t agreed with other glow recipe products in the past (guessing because of the amount of fragrance in their other products), however I couldn’t resist trying a new sunscreen! I have been using it in the morning without any moisturizer at the moment, and haven’t seen any issue with dry skin. For reference I am combo (oily t zone, dry cheeks), can be acne prone, and have seen sensitivity with fragrant products or products that contain essential oils. This product does have a light watermelon scent, but it dissipates within 20 min or so. It’s working well with my Lys foundation currently, but idk what it would be like with a powder or matte foundation.. it might pill as other reviews have suggested. I have been using this product for a few weeks now and have not noticed any sensitivity or increase in acne. And I have tried other chemical sunscreens that have caused my acne to flare up, so this is certainly one of a kind! Throughout my skincare journey, I've placed a strong emphasis on purchasing clean, high-quality products, even if it costs a bit more than, say, something I'd buy at the grocery store or drug store. However, SPF has been, for reasons I can't really explain, one of those skincare products that I just haven't held to that same standard. I've always been more content to just buy a "cheaper" natural brand. Up until this product, I'd been using the Alba Botanica SPF 50 sport sunscreen. It was fine and did what it needed to. But since discovering Glow Recipe, I decided to make the splurge and try out their SPF. Let me just say, I'm SO glad that I did. One of the most notable differences between this SPF and other brands that I've used is the texture. Whereas my last sunscreen always felt so thick and like I had to really work at blending it in, the watermelon glow niacinamide sunscreen just effortless glides on. It's so silky smooth. I also love that it has just a hint of natural watermelon fragrance. Plus, it feels so nourishing, and it really does wonders to help with the texture of my skin and alleviate any redness I may have. Chemical sunscreen that is ensconced in great ingredients. WHY? Ingredients that accumulate in fish and breast milk. No one should be using any chemical sunscreen. Children are advised not to use at least one of the active ingredients because studies have shown that it aggravates rosacea and eczema. Japan limits not just one but two of the ingredients in this product. Bottom line is any sunscreen that is “light” and adsorbs easily, is chemical based – it soaks into your skin. If it accumulates in fish that swim below water treatment plants, what makes you think it doesn’t accumulate in you when you directly slather it on your skin? The government approvals of these ingredients is based on the thought that more people will die of skin cancer then will die of chemical toxicity, but how do we know that all the cancers we have aren’t a result of all the chemicals we are exposed to daily? And all of the reactive copy in the ad suggested GR knows this is an issue and is trying to head off complaints and questions in advance. I have no doubt that this is a wonderful sunscreen. The other ingredients are great. But if you care about your health you’ll stop using chemical sunscreens. You’ll just suck it up and use the mineral only ones that take about 20 minutes for your skin to warm them to the point of making the white cast disappear.Less C. P.

Drugstore tinted sunscreens are usually horrible, and many others at Sephora or dermatome are much more expensive, and with sunscreen you must apply LIBERALLY, so having a cheaper option like this is worth it so you can be generous with your sunscreen and keep your skin safe. Even though it is tinted, it will not cover up hyperpigmentation, acne, or wrinkles, putting a primer underneath after the rest of your skincare is crucial to help it fill out pores and wrinkles. This is as far as I go with face makeup and the more I use it the less hyperpigmentation I have thanks to avoiding nasty tints that sink into your pores and cause congestion. Highly recommend for acne prone, textured skin. Simple fix to the tackiness is putting on bareminerals foundation over it. Buildable and leaves you with hydrated, moisturized, and protected skin. Alone it is very dewy and just the finish for hot dry Florida days. When the humidity kicks up, adding some powder to prevent transfer and keep it from feeling tacky is all you need. Perfect product! I've tried far too many high quality and "clean beauty" tinted spfs and this checks all my boxes. There is no such thing as a perfect spf but with a couple hacks this baby comes close. Nice texture — silky but not oily. It leaves more of a dewy, than an oily look. It's unscented, and water-based with none of the unhealthy ingredients that are already banned in other countries, but that can be sold legally in US cosmetics. It also contains some good ingredients such as niacinamide. The tint works for my light skin. It looks dark when it comes out of the tube but blended in well and has just enough pigment to even skintone without looking like you are wearing makeup. (For reference, my skin tone is about the same as Neutrogena Healthy Skin products in Fair to Light 20 tone.) It has a warm undertone, so would probably be better for people with the same. I'm not sure if it would leave a light cast for darker skin tones, but I don't believe it would leave that ghostly white cast some zinc oxide sunscreens do. I have malasma on my face, so I have to wear sunblock everyday/all day to prevent the dark spots from getting worse. To make matters worse, the most effective sunblock for malasma is zinc based or physical sunblock which leave a chalky white residue when applied. Furthermore I am acne prone. I was really struggling to find a sunblock I felt comfortable wearing to work and in public. When I discovered Amavara I almost cried. The product looks great on my skin – even providing a good amount of concealer for my skin spots. I have been using for months, applying multiple times a day and have not had a breakout. It is natural, unscented, reef and human safe. It has changed my life and made it easier to live with malasma. Be aware – as with any zinc based sunblock, if you are sweating a lot the sweat will bead up on your face. It doesn't impact the effectiveness. Just dab away with a tissue or something. Don’t sleep on this sunscreen. Been using this for almost 2 years and I hope they never stop selling it. Not the typical sunscreen. This has a thick consistency, takes a little rubbing in but once it’s on it sticks to your face and makes your pores look flawless. I have oily, acne prone skin, and my sister has dry, eczema prone skin and we both use this sunscreen ONLY. Have not worn foundation since using this. I am 24 year olds and I have dealt with mild, moderate, and severe acne since I was 11 years old! (Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s awful) So as you could imagine, I have tried everything under the sun. My biggest issue has always been sunscreens!! Pros: this product doesn't sting my sensitive eyes, and it prevents sunburn. Cons: It settles into the lines of my skin and makes them white. I end up with white lines across my neck, and the visual effect is similar to old age stage makeup. It makes the lines look deeper and more severe. Also, the performance under makeup is appallingly bad. Utterly woeful. I tried it with Bareminerals Barepro pressed powder, and I also tried it with the Lisa Eldridge longwearing liquid foundation, and the makeup looked nice when I first applied it, but then it quickly degraded over the next few hours. The powder foundation cracked so badly that it ended up looking like I had flaky snake scales all over my face. I was still at work, and I took a tissue and savagely wiped away the worst bits. The longwearing foundation fared better, but it split and cracked like a desert floor. The foundation I've been using instead for everyday wear, that doesn't sting my eyes but plays well with makeup, is the Supergoop Play. I get the big jug of it and use it on my face and body, and my makeup sits on top of it beautifully. I would recommend the anthelios for a hike, or some other activity where you'll be in the sun but your appearance doesn't matter.Cydni

I’ve recently started purchasing La Roche Posay products and am super happy with my purchase’s. This is the last thing I bought. I’m totally in love with it. It applies perfectly on my face and arms and leaves no white cast. Normally I spend $38-$65 dollars just for my face sunscreen but no more. This one is top dog now. It’s mostly physical with a tad bit of chemical but I’m ok with that. I use to try so hard and use products that were 100% clean and they are so expensive but what people don’t realize is there are non clean ingredients in practically everything. Makeup, skincare, hair products, ect. At least with La Roche Posay I don’t worry about it. It’s fragrance free and doesn’t have sulfates and the majority of the other bad stuff. This brand was made for sensitive skin and mine sure does love it. I’ve been using their face and body wash for dry to extra dry skin on my face then their face and body cream on my face followed by this amazing sunscreen. Who says you have to spend a fortune on skincare for it to work? Next product of theirs I want to try is the hylaronic acid serum. It’s a combination of big and small molecules to reach the surface of the skin and I believe 15 layers deep. Sounds amazing! Our family used the old Banana Boat Kids in the yellow bottle (used to be available in a 12 oz. pump, which was awesome!). For years and years we used that sunscreen. We were absolute devotees. Then they discontinued it and replaced it with this new one. While the active ingredients are the same, the formula is totally different. The old one was a normal lotion consistency, easy to rub in and with a white cast that faded quickly. And while it did settle into skin creases (inner elbows, etc.), it came basically clean with normal showering. This new formula is like GLUE. It takes forever to rub in, and leaves your skin looking white all day. When my kids hop into the pool or lake, the water beads up on top of this sunscreen, somehow the white cast gets even worse, and they look like wet, blobby ghosts. It migrates into creases and their hair line, leaving thick white streaks. And it is IMPOSSIBLE to wash off. Even with repeated scrubbings with a soapy washcloth, it adheres to the skin like superglue. My little one spent a while digging in the dirt yesterday after I applied this, and now the DIRT is also stuck to her like glue. We scrubbed and scrubbed in the shower last night, and she went back to camp with blackened legs this morning anyway. PLEASE bring back the old formula (AND the old larger pump bottles!). If you did, it would be the only sunscreen our entire family would use for the rest of all eternity. Until then, I'm shopping around for something that isn't impossible both to apply and to wash off. This stuff works great! I use it for running and even on the hottest, sweatiest days, it stays on and does its job! Plus it doesn't contain those freaky chemicals. Yay! There are two little problems, though. It does leave a bit of a white cast. Rubbing it in well does help, but I don't think it ever really goes away completely. The other issue is that once it's on, it's hard to get off! That is a big advantage for sun protection! However, it's tricky in the shower. There will be some kind of exfoliating product needed, if you want it all off, the first time! It's kind of fun to watch it swirl around the drain though. I also like to put on some mositurizer after use, because it seems to dry out my skin just a little. I have super sensitive fair, sun damaged, rosacea prone, dry mature skin. I literally tried about 20 different sunscreens and was so surprised to find this as my favorite. I’ve developed red rashes with other sunscreens (even physical/zinc ones) and this one does not irritate my skin at all. It does not leave a white cast on my skin. It also applies smoothly even over my thick Cerave moisturizing cream without any pilling. I typically don’t wear much makeup, but when I do, it applies smoothly on top of the Banana Boat. There is no fragrance and no irritation even on my eyelids. The only slight downside for me is that it has a slightly greasy feel, whereas I would love more of a matte finish. The sunscreen has no a fragrance so its without a scent. It feels like a moisturizing moisturizer and not a sunscreen. Since it based on mineral filters it has a very soothing effect on the skin. It has a nice texture to it , just like a moisturizer. I love this product! I am always weary of sunscreen for my face because I have tried greasy lotions in the past that left a white cast. I am so happy to report that this one is a game changer! It blends easily into my skin and delivers powerful antioxidants and a strong broad spectrum sun shield. I want to thank influenster for sending me this product. I have been trying to look for that holy grail sunscreen that will go under my makeup and not look oily after an hour. This sunscreen does not smell as strong as some do, and sits under any makeup both dewy and matte beautifully. I didn't have any separation or pilling which has happened with other sunscreens I have tried in the past with makeup. does not leave a white cast in pictures when used either which has happened as well with somethings I have used in the past. Where I took points off had to mainly do with my own skin, now both chemical and natural sun screens both do this I was hoping this one didn't give me a reaction, but after wearing the sunscreen 8+ hours I started noticing my face was so itchy and I started getting red blisters on my face that were super itchy. this normally happens within an hour with other sunscreen but this one does not bother me if it's only on for a few hours. I have sensitive skin, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation. My holy grail moisturizer is from La Roche-Posay. I was thrilled to get this product for free to try. I normally do not wear chemical sunscreen because of my skin sensitivity. This is the first chemical sunscreen that I can wear that does not irritate my skin. I love the pump. This sunscreen is opaque white, but does not leave a whitecast on the skin. There is a very tiny initial smell out of the pump of sunscreen, but it goes away very quickly. This is a very hydrating sunscreen which is great for my dehydrated skin. Since I am oily, this will be my new sunscreen for winter. While this is hydrating, it also makes me shiny throughout the day because I am also an oily skin type. My long wear foundation normally can go 14 hours with no touch ups. At 10 hours, the foundation on my chin is starting to break apart, so I will take a dry sponge and pat my chin to get the foundation to settle down. The foundation on my nose and cheeks really starts to break apart and look cakey. Again, just pat and it goes back to normal. So I used less sunscreen and it seemed to help with the longevity issue with my foundation. The big awesome part of this sunscreen is that since it is hydrating, the pores on my cheeks look smaller than when I use a matte sunscreen. Overall, this is a great sunscreen that I will purchase for use in the winter drier months.christina.p

i initially was super exited about this spf from hearing so many great things about it, but after trying it for myself i was dissatisfied. i want to start by saying this is just how it worked for me and my skin and judging by how many people love this product, it still might be a good option for you, but personally it’s not good for my skin. First off i was a little disappointed by the size of this product, but that’s not a huge deal since they list the size on the website, so that’s more on me. But when i out it on i noticed it was very streaky and didn’t sink into the skin well. It also left a white cast (which i normally don’t have issues with since i have a lighter complexion) and a few hours after wearing this i noticed it had started to pill up on my face.shelly
After reading reviews I was so excited to try this sunscreen. It took a long time to arrive (first package got lost in the mail and they had to send me a second one). When it did arrive I did not notice much difference between my current drugstore face sunscreen and this product even though my drugstore sunscreen is less than half the price. I wouldn't say this sunscreen is "greasy" but it definitely leaves a shine. I didn't experience a white cast and there is not an intense smell which are all good. It did not go that well under makeup which is one of the main reasons I bought it, I saw reviews saying it was even a "primer" but did not work well for me in this department. Overall it is fine sunscreen however I will likely stick w/ my cheaper and equally effective drugstore brand that is also a higher SPF.Emily
i have very oily skin and i’m obsessed with sustainable beauty, so i was excited to have a lightweight sustainable spf (the daily is a bit too heavy for my liking). at first i loved this; it did pill a bit, but if i blended quickly and waited ten minutes before doing makeup it was fine. it’s lightweight and hydrating and truly an spf “fluid.” however, i noticed these relentless little bumps around my mouth, where i was clear before. after some research i found that the mouth area is a prime place for “fungal” acne, and that an emulsifier in this spf (glyceryl stearate SE) is a major fungal acne trigger. i stopped using and my skin cleared up so quickly. for anyone experiencing this: turmeric and ginger clear fungal acne, so i’ve been using the turmeric mask stick which has helped tremendously. the search for a sustainable spf for oily girls continues.gabby

I bought this product as I wanted a stronger suncream for my face as I've started to develop brown spots. I used it on a recent holiday to Turkey. Its a quite a light texture and very easy to apply. I love this brand for sunscreens and also their body lotion. Their face fluid spf is fantastic and this is just as good but a bit more of a cream. It is slightly shiny on the face but after it soaks in and I apply my make up over the top I’m just left with a nicely moisturised face with a lovely glow. Even better that’s is so reasonably priced. I'm actually reviewing the Altruist Dermatologist Face Fluid SPF 50 5* but unfortunately it wasn't an option on it's own that I could pick to review. I have never used a facial specific sunscreen, or any sunscreen on s daily basis. The facial fluid is very lightweight and while I probably don't put enough on I would struggle to rub anymore onto my skin! I normally put 1-2 fingers worth of fluid on and that more than covers my whole face. It does have a white cast initially but once it's all rubbed in properly, wow it leaves you looking glowy af, in a good way! It feels very hydrating and I would be happy to continue using the product and would consider trying other things from the range, although it is a bit more expensive than I would usually pay for sun products.jodie .t
I was pleasantly surprised by the formula, it feels very similar to a normal moisturiser and not like the usually heavy, sticky sunscreens. I used it on my face few times and it works well under makeup. I cannot comment on the white cast as i have fair skin, but it absorbed well into the skin. It protected my arms from my usual sun allergy, but the temperature was under 30celsius, the real test will be the temperature goes over 30. However, for some reason it didn’t protect my chest where I had a serious sun allergy.Anonymous

The product comes out quite thick but is a bit greasy to apply and spreads thinly so only need a bit to cover an area, unless you layer. On my south asian/brown (Fitzpatrick 4) skin tone it does leave a slight white caste, especially when applied to the face. The caste does reduce abit after 10min, but is still there and leaves a slight purple-ish tone. It also settles in lines such as on the neck and smile lines, and be careful not to get any near your eyebrows or it looks a mess! It is fine to wear this sunscreen at home or in the garden, but I wouldnt go out in public with this on my face. On the body e.g. hands it is abit better and the caste (although still there) is less noticeable. I won't repurchase as there are better options out there .iHerb Customer
My sunscreen I use must have a high zinc for protect my face skin from UVA-UVB. In iherb, only two of brand contain a high zinc, this one and Copertone. I use them interchangeably. Zinc sunscreens usually don't have PA. I had to find a sunscreen that high Pa++++ for used together because my country is so hot. Sunscreen is indispensable before leaving the house every time. I don't want my face to have premature wrinkles because the sun has reduced my collagen. I have been using sunscreen since childhood. This sunscreen is super easy to apply to my kids, though it has a weird smell to it. I wish it had a natural scent additive to it. I like that it doesn't leave my hands or the kids all oily or sticky like a lot of other brands. With it being spf50 I don't have to worry about my fair skin children getting burnt in the sun and I can also use it on myself on my sensitive skin areas (face and neck). I wish the coverage lasted longer than 80 minutes because with 3 children applying lotion multiple times in such frequent increments is time consuming.Brea_33
