This is my second Jergens Tanning Mouse that I bought. I first bought the lighter shade as I’m quite pale and new to tanning. I love these products. I apply with a mit. I watched a lot of YouTube videos as well for tips and tricks and application techniques. It is fast drying. I wait probably 15-20 mins to get dressed after applying but it dries in a few minutes. I don’t feel sticky after either. I have never had it rub off dramatically. I was wearing a tight crop top a few hours after and it rubbed off a little bit in the seam. Yea I believe it has a color guide just so you can see where you are applying it. When you first shower 8-12 hrs later, you may see that come off but it leaves color behind on your skin. There is a little scent left over. To me it smells like freshly peeled potatoes! I know that’s odd but it isn’t too strong to me. Overall great product! I enjoy being tan without the sun damage and possible skin cancer!Cjmlsw
I'm not a newbie when it comes to tanning lotions. I am pale or red when it comes to tanning naturally. Anyways, I showered, shaved, exfoliate, add a little lotions to elbows/knees/ankles and applied the the foam with a mitt. Just like I would with any other tanning lotion I ever used. It was easy to see where you applied which I liked. Yet, later that day my legs were uneven tan (same amount of lotion and circular motions) no water or sweat after applying. To describe my outcome is going out to the garden and getting dirt on you.. some areas have dirt while other areas are still untouched. My tan looks hideous and I had to go out and about on mother's day looking horrible. Lesson learned : don't go cheap on a product and don't always trust reviews as I seen it was 4 stars and decided to try it for myself. Just ask a salon what they recommend instead. I am a self-tan addict and I have tried many, many brands and product types over many years! I have high standards for how my tan looks and I hope my review is helpful! The body product is overall very nice but the price is less impressive when you realize how quickly you go through the bottle. The face lotion is nice too, but I'm not blown away and I don't like that it makes my face sweat profusely after application. The good: color result is beautiful and lasts a long time when compared to other brands (I swam in non-chlorinated water and it wore very well), non-streaking, no color guide is nice because it doesn't transfer onto fabrics, and it looks very natural. The bad: the product would only be a good price if there was double the fluid ounces in each bottle – I went through the entire bottle in only 2-3 applications and that was very disappointing (I'm not a large person). It does start to get splotchy on hands, between breasts, and elbow/knee ditches after a few days but I've never found a product that does not do that (I believe because skin cells naturally shed). I won't be buying the face lotion again but I will repurchase the body lotion. I will, however, continue looking for a product that is better because I'm not convinced that this is the best out there. I, like many of you I'm guessing, have tried numerous self tanners. After a skin cancer scare a few years ago, I'm much more diligent about protecting myself from the sun but also love that tan glow. I bought the face tanning serum and the dark body tanning lotion. I have tried drugstore brands, Rodan & Fields, Beauty by Earth, Isle of Paradise, St Tropez, etc etc etc. I will say this self tanning lotion is my favorite. I'm still deciding on the face serum, but the lotion is a natural glow with less of an odor than others I have tried. I like that the face serum contains ingredients that actually help fine lines and wrinkles. I like that the body lotion isn't thick or "gooey" feeling and dries quickly. It doesn't stain clothes. If you have fair skin like me and want a natural looking tan, this is the product for you. If you want a super dark tan, this is not for you. There is a green tinted guide color in the mousse to help you apply evenly so you will look extra dark and streaky until you rinse off in the shower. Once it washes off it's obviously lighter but more natural looking. Then it gets a little darker over the next 8 hours or so. The people complaining about it being streaky when first applying and color washing off in the shower didn't read the description on the bottle because it's supposed to do that. Also yes, I agree it is sticky and has a smell until you rinse off but I've never tried a self tanner that doesn't have that. I put on loose clothes after a couple mins despite the stickiness and have never had issues with transfer. I always apply it when I plan to not leave the house for a few hours. I've tried a lot of self tanners and have stuck to this one for the last year because it's the easiest to apply (because of the guide color), has the best end result color (not orange), and I like that I only have to have it on for 3 hours. The self-tanner itself is a fantastic product. Beautiful and easy to blend. And simple to put on. The smell is passable-neither its fantastic not awful, but it doesn't matter. I have really sensitive skin and its gentle on it. Neither a burning not itchy sensation. Didnt produce any inflammation or pain. The tan has a nice, silky mousse consistency. Sharp lines are simple to perceive, and you can tell where you have applied it. Many additional tanning treatments,including ad moisturizers, make it difficult to detect where you have applied them, preventing the formation of sharp lines once you have browned. You have varied time restrictions while using self-tanner depending on the shade you want. If your skin is very fair, one hour will give you a faint tan. It takes 2 hours to achieve a lovely medium look, and three hours to achieve your distinctive look if you have dark skin. Other then that, the self-tanner is a simple and quick product. I first tried St Tropez about 15 years ago when self tanning at home started to trend more, it was the best then and it's the best now. I've tried all the major brands over the years, the expensive £30 ones and the cheap £5 ones and none of them compare to the OG – St Tropez. The formula is so silky it simply glides onto your skin and blends so well with a mitt, it really is fool proof. It smells nice as you apply, it's not overwhelmingly fragranced. I won't deny there is the tell tale fake tan smell as it develops but I just think whatever brand and whatever the packaging boasts you cannot get away from the smell, however with the St Tropez it isn't as strong. I leave it on overnight as I like a darker tan which this achieves without looking orange. It develops to suit my skin tone. It fades pretty evenly without going patchy, but you often get a build up in the creases of your body, again that's the same with all tan so I often scrub these areas a bit harder of loosen with a body oil. The 'Classic' shade is the perfect color for light/fairer folks! Most tanners come out super orange on me, this one is the least orangey I've come across. Even better than when I tried a full spray tan. You MUST use a mitt, it's the best hack ever for a smooth application and I wish I would have known about them years ago! Would have saved me from many streaks and dyed palms. It also allows you to get a clean line along/under the jaw, which creates a natural looking contour since I don't use the tanner on my face. I prefer a foam to an over-time lotiony type, so this is perfect for me. It darkens a bit over time, but since its mostly instant you can see any unevenness as you are applying. Exfoliate/shave a day or two before. Pile on lotion to elbows, knees, ankles right before applying. Foam goes on decently non-sticky. Buff buff buff with the mitt, circular motions going with the grain of any body hair. If you do get any spots on the fingers/toes, wipe with some nail polish remover right away and that should take any color off. Color lasts at least a week+ if you are careful to not exfoliate much.Katy
I'm liking this for quite a few reasons. It's easy to apply – much easier than the lotion and dries pretty quickly (less than 2 minutes on my skin). Not pricey, maybe a bit more than other tanning lotions and products but it's definitely worth paying that small amount extra as when comparing it to other brands; this product has the least streaking and most natural looking color, not orange, just a nice golden hue. Bonus: there is no funny smell left on your skin once you have washed it off. I find one full bottle lasts me for approximately 6 full body applications which makes it more than worth it for me. I hardly ever write reviews, which I know I should since I rely heavily on reviews when online shopping… but felt compelled to leave a comment because of two reviews I read here. One comment mentions that this tanner “washed away” when it comes in contact with water, and another mentions the “green tint” they got. These are not product flaws, that’s literally what it’s supposed to do. There is a purposeful tint that acts as a GUIDE for application. It’s SUPPOSED to be slightly greenish and it’s SUPPOSED to wash off lol. The guide helps you see where you’ve applied the tanner so you don’t miss a spot or don’t blend somewhere. The color develops over 8 hours (when it shouldn’t get wet), then you rinse or wash the guide color off. Very simple instructions on the bottle that explain that. That being said, St. Tropez is among the best self tanners available. I’ve been using it for years and years and it’s still my favorite. I’m pale with red hair and blue eyes and burn very easily, so I layer on the sunscreen, but I hate being pale/basically translucent. So I use St Tropez year round. One application every 3 weeks or so in the winter, and every 1-2 weeks in the summer (depending on how dark I want to be) helps me easily maintain a natural looking tan that’s long lasting. I honestly might buy two of these jumbo bottles. I’ve only ever seen this side during the anniversary say and it’s a fantastic value. I was promised amazing things with this tan, so I’ll start with the good… The colour is nice – the green/grey base stops it getting *too* orange (though there are less orange tans out there), and as promised the smell is pleasant. I’m naturally very pale and the medium was plenty dark enough. That seems to be where the good stuff ends. I always ensure I prep properly for tanning with my shaving/exfoliating/moisturising routine, so that was not the problem. I do have dry skin, so I always make sure to moisturise every day as instructed on the bottle. However, 2 days into wearing this tan, my arms and legs looked absolutely RIDICULOUS. So so SO patchy, I looked like bubble wrap with the amount of white holes that were appearing all over me. So I knew it had to come off… fat chance of that happening. Soaked myself in baby oil for an hour, had a long, hot bath and then scrubbed in the shower. Did not budge. It took THREE showers worth of scrubbing just to take *some* of the colour off – good if you don’t want it to come off, but terrible if you do. I had to wear long sleeves/trousers in hot weather for a week whilst I tried every day to eventually scrub it off. It stained my bedding like no other tan has – baring in mind I didn’t sleep with it developing as I don’t like to stain the sheets with my tans. But even after the first several rounds of scrubbing it was still turning my sheets bright orange. Sadly would not recommend this tan and disappointed that I wasted so much money on it.Emily B.
My daughter and I were willing to spend top dollar on an excellent self tanner to ensure we had a nice, sunkissed glow prior to heading on vacation. The reviews online were great but, we were skill a bit skeptical. Our skin hadn't seen the sun in a while (although we weren't completely pale) so, we spent days trying to decide on medium or dark. It was a tough choice but, we settled on Medium to error on the side of caution. I also added the bronzing face drops in Medium as well. Much to my surprise, the product lives up to all the wonderful reviews. We succeed in achieving our sun kissed glow and I've had several people ask where we spent our vacation and compliment my tan. I even catch people checking out my bronzed legs (because the tan looks that good, not just my legs)! Smells great going on, like tropical fruit, but the next day definitely still smells like all other self-tanners. It's not over powering, but if you're sensitive to that smell just know that you're not getting away from it with this product. Also, it does go on with a warmer green base, but again the next day I feel like it's left me just as orange as other self tanners. It's also not as forgiving in terms of evenness. I have some darker and lighter patches where I didn't get it totally even, so just take your time putting it on. Also, the mitt does seems to leak through to the palm of your hand slightly. The palm of my right hand is definitely tinted after applying with the mitt last night, so just be sure you scrub your palms thoroughly once you're done applying. I've used better mitts though. Overall, it works, it's fine, but not sure if this lives up to the hype and if it's the best product out there.

This product works fairly well. It did leave some streaking on one of my thighs where I must have applied it uneven and it left discoloration on my wrists but hardly noticeable. I didn't apply with gloves but I washed my hands immediately afterwards so there is a line where I washed it off. I am pretty fair skinned and I applied it two days in a row to get a nice tan color. It doesn't look orange at all. I was a little disappointed in the smell. Some reviews said it didn't smell like tanning lotion but I thought it smelled strongly of tanner and I had to take a shower before the smell wore off. I am by no means new to tanning, and when I say this is by far the worst product I’ve used it is. It’s orange, has no color guide, has a really strong DHA odor compared to others. I did everything correctly directions wise, I prepped my skin the way I normally would. I stood infront of a fan for about 40 minutes for this stuff to dry before I put clothes back on. I didn’t even keep it on for the 12-24 hours. I kept it on for 7 and I’m legitimately neon orange and there’s huge white spots still after I spent over an hour blending and trying to make sure I missed no spots. My mom tried it as well but she tried the lighter tones one and she hates it as well. I don’t understand how people like this stuff, I mean if you like being orange to each their own but I don’t and I’ll most definitely never recommend this product to anyone.emina.a

I love this product for its clean beauty and the light even normal non orange color it produced . I am pleasantly suprised. I don’t lay out in sun, my skin naturally becomes tan in late spring summer just walking my dog. I bought this to use for arms and legs before bathing suit season starts . Ease of use, no transfer , it drys in a few minutes and on first application it was very light . You shoukd exfoliate day before use and the best results . I did this and did a light spray on my arms and lower legs and chest. I wear my nails manicured and I even put on hands with a makeup sponge. Perfect.. just don’t keep spraying I find you spray in your hands and spread on fronts and backs of arms and legs . I wash my hands with a loofa type sponge so my palms are not orangey. If you use this and take your time , the results are so much better than other colored self tanners. I def recommend if you want some light sun kissed skin with capris and shirtsleeves try it. I have used the drops before but I like this for my face also. I spray with a headband on and spread with clean blending sponge, let dry and serum eyecreme moisturizer etc. it looks very natural and I only use an eye brightener and tinted sunscreen , look tan and no base needed for myself. I have really pale skin and self tanning lotions or sprays have never looked good on me. Needless to say I didn't have very high hopes for these drops, but I am surprised to say I was proved wrong! These are a great choice for someone who has trouble getting an even look that doesn't look too orangey. Even though the bottle isn't very big it lasts quite a while. I found going conservative keeps you looking much more natural and gives the sun kissed look without an unnatural orangey appearance. If you use too much you may end up with the dreaded orange look. It's really easy to apply-just add a few drops to your normal body lotion or facial lotion and mix it up and apply like usual. For an even look I'd highly suggest to exfoliate properly beforehand, but even if you don't it applies pretty well and looks good when it's absorbed. The only downside to this product is that the tan doesn't seem to last a long time. It's there for about 3 days or so and then it's time to reapply. But because it's so easy to apply it's not too much of a hindrance. I also did have a slight amount of acne that popped up after use-although it may have just been my face reacting to a new product and it has since subsided just fine. This is a great product! I got the exact tan I wanted, and it was simple enough to add to my lotion after my shower. It does have that typical fake-tanner smell, which I don't mind. It's not overwhelming, and it fades in a couple hours. Don't be convinced by the people who say this product streaks; that's just user error, and they don't know how to apply it properly. After showering and exfoliating my body, I used rubber gloves to apply it so my hands didn't stain. I squirt some lotion onto my finger, put about 5 drops (per area on my body) into my palm, then took my free hand to mix them together, and finally applied to each area just like I'm putting lotion on. No streaks, no patches, just a flawless, beautiful golden tan. This product does everything it claims, when used properly. BACKGROUND: Having said all that, I am not a fake-tanner. I don't have a lot of experience with it, I've never even been to a tanning salon (I'm 30). The most experience I have with fake tanning is a bottle of Jergen's natural glow I used at least ten years ago. I prefer the natural tan I get from being outdoors. However, I haven't had time to get outside as much as I'd like lately, and I've been craving that beautiful sun-kissed look. (Although, self tanner is just as harmful to your body as a sun tan due to the DHA or erythrulose in it, if not worse since you're not getting any vitamin D, in fact, it's depleting your body of the vital nutrient. I have been using Self tanner for over 30 years. Usually I use a VERY HIGH END Dept store brand. Ive tried other brands over the years, but never got the results that I loved from my "high end brand". Recently, noticed the Bondi Sands line at our Walgreens. Decided to give the line a try. I bought the Dark Self Tanning Lotion, the Exfoliant and the Tanning Mitt. Wow!!!! Was I BLOWN AWAY by these products and results. The lotion is dark out of the tube, like Chocolate pudding! Making it not only rich and creamy, but easy to see where I was applying.\nI used the exfoliant first, of course , and loved it as well.\nNot OVERLY ABRASIVE OR "SCRATCHY" to the skin. Just a nice, light paste to prep your skin for tanning.\nMy results were the BEST LOOKING self tan I have EVER HAD! I love Bondi Sands. Fantastic application. I am half Greek and have always tasted easy. I am an archaeologist, geologist and paleontologist. So for years have worked outdoors. Like my Dad I have a love of the sun. However, I try to be careful and supplement my natural tan with color from your products. As I age, unfortunately, I see sun damage, loss of pigment or white spots. Your products keep me looking good and feeling good and camouflage my flaws. Best results I've had from a self tanner. I've always hated the foam versions because they're extremely sticky & you have to sit like still otherwise it'll streak. This product is cream based so it's very minimally sticky, smells nice, and easy to apply. I exfoliated then applied once out of the shower, then a second later 30 min after as suggested on directions. Went to bed and woke up with the PERFECT tan. Get the ultra dark version. I didn't use gloves as suggested, and woke up with very black hands but it washed away easily with a little scrubbing in the shower. You gotta try this bestiesTabby

This self tanner really works nicely! It smells good. I have used self tanners in the past, but stopped because I felt silly walking around with streaks and it being visibly evident that I used a self tanner. Not this product- no streaks- really it blends in so well! I am fair skinned and this tanner looks fabulous! How to use this self tanner: 1. Shower and exfoliate (if you don't have a scrub you can make one out of bath salts and soap or use a loofah) 2. Apply lotion to rough areas- knees, ankles, and elbows 3. Strip down- and apply – be sure to rub all over (wash hands after about 2 minutes and then continue) 4. Let it dry and relax (***don't continue to rub it while it it working- after 10 minutes of drying let it do it's magic- hands off) 5. Reapply after three hours if you'd like 6. All done… now you look great! Try not to get sunburnt- it will peel off if you do. You will see how it bends quite naturally into the areas that you didn't tan. I've been using this self tanner for a few months now (my first time using self tanners) and I havent been happy with the results. It seems like there isn't a change in my color. After reading numerous reviews however, I think I need to start applying it 2-3 times a week until I see some color. I am pretty pale and went with the medium shade but I think I will try a darker shade. I do have to mention, after reading the numerous complaints about the change in your formula, I am confused. One of the selling points for me on this specific self tanner (besides banana boat being a long time traditional product brand for me) is that there is no guide color. I did a lot of research on self tanners and when companies use a guide color it seems to transfer onto absolutely EVERYTHING! I definately dont want that! I'm not a patient person and font have time to stand around sans clothing while my lotion dries! This product has yet to transfer onto any of my clothing, thank you for that! There isn't an unpleasant smell like some tanners have (although I wish this had a coconut scent) and the formula feels light and airy on my ski, huge plus as I cant handle thick, heavy creams. I didn't even know it came with a tint since I just bought it this summer, so I can't comment on the lack of tint to guide the application ( would be nice tho). But I love that it's easy to apply without a lot of mess, it doesn't smell, it moisturizes my skin, has a nice color, and it's so affordable! I first use it on my face all over, then I use Lovingtan or Bondi with a foundation brush to highlight my forehead, cheeks, and along my jawline (especially along the jowls, lol) and bottom of my neck, as if I was applying bronzer. It beautifully contours my face but looks natural. Also, this hides my double chin and jowls, plus let's me look tanned without a lot of makeup…. very natural and pretty. Of course, proceed cautiously at first! But the best thing I like about this product is that I don't get that "suffocating" , heavy and sticky feeling other tanners give me. No streaks, blends well, beautiful color. I love the tanning foam one hour express. If you aren’t an experienced self tanner/ pro at your application, get the foam over the aero. It dries, but not as quickly as the aero so it gives you more time to apply and blend. I love how a little tan foam goes far and how buildable the tan is. I’m fair so I look my most natural golden tan with one coat. For beach days I have done two coats and you do get noticeably more tan!! While you can rinse the product after 1-3 hours, your tan will still take 6-8 hours to fully develop on your skin. I’ve slept in the foam 1 hour express and I’ve also rinsed it at the 2-3 hour mark and you get the same color so I really like having the option to rinse the tan before bed if I choose or to just fall asleep knowing my results will both look great. Apply tan to top of hands last and rinse hands at about 30-45 minutes if you plan to leave the tan on for 2-3+ hours. That’s worked for me to get the color balanced and blended with my arm color since hands absorb the color so quickly. The tan fades so well!! I get 4 great days before fading begins and can stretch it 7 if I incorporate the gradual tanning milk. I apply the tanning milk with the tanning mitt to keep my palms from the tan and it works great. And most importantly the one hour foam express doesn’t have a funny smell that lingers with you for days after!!Rachael C.
I have been using fake tan for years. I am naturally fair skinned and my go to fave has always been the Bondi Sands Ultra Dark mousse. I only tried the Ultra Dark foam because the mousse was sold out and the foam was on offer, so thought I’d give it a whirl. I’m such a fan of Bondi Sands Ultra Dark foam (and mousse) Compared to other brands, it creates a deeper looking tan (no orange!) and it wears off evenly, which I really like. No patchy knees or ankles. Compared to the mousse, the foam dries a lot quicker. I like that too. No sticky feeling, it absorbs really well. There’s also less transfer onto clothes / bedsheets, before that morning shower. The only thing I have found (and this is simply user error, not a complaint!) is that I create a ball of foam to rub on myself, but as I rub it onto my skin the foam ball sometimes drops onto my carpet. I’ve applied the tan on two occasions and now have 4 splodges of tan to scrub out of my carpet. So maybe do smaller squirts of foam? For me though, this is the best tan out there at the moment and it’s not even that pricey compared to some of them.Lois
I don't really need any help in the suntan department as I have an olive complexion and tan very easily with little to no sunburn . However, I don't always have time to sunbathe and it's not particularly enjoyable during the summer months because it's JUST. SO. HOT!!! So, when I found this product, I was ecstatic. It's like a mouse so it goes on silky smooth . When I purchased my first can of this product, it came with a mitt for easy, even application. I apply it after a shower , allow it to dry before getting dressed, then go about my day finishing up household chores or scrolling through my instagram feed . Then, after about an hour , I rinse off quickly and glow. It has never left streaks or uneven splotches on my skin . It makes my skin soft and supple and it looks marvelous! I bought this item thinking it would be an easy alternative to rubbing in self tanner and having to pay for new mitts since this one says it doesn’t need rubbed in. That was a huge mistake, it definitely needs rubbed in and runs so bad. It also is quite orange and dark so it was a huge change compared to my natural skin color, which i was not expecting since it was in the color medium. This self tanner in MEDIUM is my BFF! It's gorgeous and gives a natural looking bronzed golden tan. It's so easy to apply, has a wide angle spray so it's easy to tan your body all by yourself, even your back, back of legs, booty, shoulders. No blending required! It dries quickly and it's inexpensive. I love it and always keep it on hand- travels well and fits in my handbag, bookbag, overnight bag, etc. I recommend it to everyone. If you like to tan at home on the low cost and don't like to worry about blending with your hands or a glove, this is for you!
I was never a huge self tanner fan but with the growing concern of skin damage/cancer its definitely a preferable option to get a tan opposed to salons or direct sunlight. I was still hesitant when about using this, I've only ever had bad experiences with self tanners and I've tried some pricey brands. I was pretty suprised when I actually liked it. I didnt love the application process (as I never do) it's a little messy, stains your hands, and I don't like smelling like self tanner for hours afterwards. With that said, this oke wasn't "that" bad compared to a lot of others I've tried. The scent wasn't to bad. The thing I loved the most about using this though was the results and why I gave it 4 stars. I am pale skinned and discovered the old branded version of this product (in the bronze bottle) a year or two ago which was the perfect colour and always streak free. Was more like a body lotion in consistency so easy to apply. Saw the promotion on the new branded bottles so assumed was the same but just different packaging and snapped two up as I use regularly. Unfortunately I was very disappointed to find St Tropez have *completely* changed the formula as well as the packaging and lotion is now thinner, much darker and like the old school fake tans from years back☹️Applied it anyway to try it out and found it is really strong smelling, thin and watery to apply and worst of all goes on with a noticeable green tinge-had my family calling me Shrek for the evening whilst I waited for it to dry!!!! Unsurprisingly the next morning I washed the guide colour off (thankfully the green didn’t stay on my skin!) but I was left with streaky arms and legs…I m a seasoned pro at tan application due to the need to apply frequently in the summer as I don’t tan easily and despite this I still had noticeable whiter patches which means I can no longer rely on this as my ‘go to’ tan. This is the worst product I have tried from St Tropez. They discontinued the old gradual tan firming lotion and replaced it with this one. It instantly sets and stains, there is nothing gradual about it. I used my hand first as this is the way I used to apply the old formula. It instantly turned my hand a greenish black seven after repeated washes. I used my mitt to apply the rest and I didn’t rub in one area of my leg fast enough and same problem instant blotchy streaks. After letting it dry for 30 minutes I got dressed and it stained my clothes. WORST TANNER I HAVE EVER USED! If I could give it zero stars I would.milkey
Really loved using this product as i love using St Tropez gradual self tans and was interested in using this firming gradual tan . It smelt gorgeous on application and application was fairly easy to apply it to my arms and legs. It absorbed fairly quickly and dried pretty quickly and it developed over the next 6-8 hours and I noticed the tan was a beautiful deep tan colour but also very natural. Loved that one application was enough for a gorgeous glow. It was also streak free especially around my wrists and ankles and was really natural and not orange. It also didn’t have the strong biscuity smell of most fake tans. Loved that you can build up the intensity day by day and incorporate this into your daily routine. I knocked off one star because the lotion is very emollient and if you use too much of the product it takes a good 3-5 mins to rub into the skin as it turns white on application! I noticed the second time I used less product this didn’t happen, so use less and gradually build up the application to avoid this happening in future! I am a self-tan addict and I have tried many, many brands and product types over many years! I have high standards for how my tan looks and I hope my review is helpful! The body product is overall very nice but the price is less impressive when you realize how quickly you go through the bottle. The face lotion is nice too, but I'm not blown away and I don't like that it makes my face sweat profusely after application. The good: color result is beautiful and lasts a long time when compared to other brands (I swam in non-chlorinated water and it wore very well), non-streaking, no color guide is nice because it doesn't transfer onto fabrics, and it looks very natural. The bad: the product would only be a good price if there was double the fluid ounces in each bottle – I went through the entire bottle in only 2-3 applications and that was very disappointing (I'm not a large person). It does start to get splotchy on hands, between breasts, and elbow/knee ditches after a few days but I've never found a product that does not do that (I believe because skin cells naturally shed). I won't be buying the face lotion again but I will repurchase the body lotion. I will, however, continue looking for a product that is better because I'm not convinced that this is the best out there. I, like many of you I'm guessing, have tried numerous self tanners. After a skin cancer scare a few years ago, I'm much more diligent about protecting myself from the sun but also love that tan glow. I bought the face tanning serum and the dark body tanning lotion. I have tried drugstore brands, Rodan & Fields, Beauty by Earth, Isle of Paradise, St Tropez, etc etc etc. I will say this self tanning lotion is my favorite. I'm still deciding on the face serum, but the lotion is a natural glow with less of an odor than others I have tried. I like that the face serum contains ingredients that actually help fine lines and wrinkles. I like that the body lotion isn't thick or "gooey" feeling and dries quickly. It doesn't stain clothes. This was the first tanning foam I've bought after having a semi-traumatizing experience with tanning water turning me into a literal orange. It was super easy to apply with the Bondi Sands applicator mitt, and I had no issues with streaks or splotchiness. I also applied the foam to my face with a fluffy makeup brush, and there were no problems either. I let it soak into my skin and dry for about an hour, and then I put on loose fitting clothes and went to sleep. When I woke up my white bedsheets had a pink tint where I was laying, but the stain came off easily in the washer. The main issue is after one shower the majority of the color came off as well (I patted my skin dry with a towel afterwards instead of swiping). Its a shame because the color looked so nice before showering. After two washes the color was completely gone. The shipping method is also so annoying but that's not related to the performance of the product. On a positive note, the application to my face did not cause any breakouts, which is surprising considering I have sensitive/acne-prone skin.Olivia
So the color is great, not orange at all. However, it's so sticky and does not dry easy. It's easier to work around in the summer, I just put on a bikini and go outside and it dries a little faster. It's so annoying because it transfers on everything when you sleep. Who wants stained sheets? It's 2022 not 1990, fix the formula. Other self tanners don't stain, so obviously it can be fixed. The color is nice though, but you need to leave it overnight or for 6 hours unless you actually are somehow able to reapply again after two hours and somehow touch absolutely nothing for a couple hours after that because the second coat will stain any and everything you touch. So overall, I will probably not use again as it's too high maintenance. But if given free I would absolutely use. FYI for value: St. Moritz tanner is like $10 and doesn't stain and dries easier. So I will def go back to that. Loving tan gives the most realistic tan but it's expensive. And Lamakiage is the absolute worst tanner I've ever used. I purchased this tan because I was sick of using tans that leave you feeling so sticky and transfer quite a lot after applying. I have been using the loving tan before so thought I would give this a try as it’s more affordable and I liked the fact it had the Aragon Oil in it to moisturise your skin as mines would get quite dry with tan. There is no colour guide when applying this so you sort of have to make sure everything is rubbed in as best you can. After applying I have never in my life felt so sticky! I stood for at least half an hour before dressing and still felt like I was so wet and slippery! I felt absolutely horrible. Also everyone said no transfer? Well my clothes are covered with transfer so if anyone could please tell me what I’ve done wrong. This tan has definitely gave off the worst transfer I have ever had. Don’t get me wrong it is a beautiful sun-kissed colour (that’s after two coats) and doesn’t stink as bad the way other tans do. Also my hands look quite nice. I normally find they’re quite hard to tan and I found this tan didn’t stick to them and leave them patchy. I bought the gradual tanning milk to top it up my body and leave it darker if I desire. If you are after a natural glowy tan then use this one but if you liked being dark and bronzed then the ultra dark one is the best option.Lyndsay

7 months ago I had laser pigmentation removal which destroyed my skin barrier and now I have super sensitive skin and struggle with dermatitis. I can’t wear most of the old makeup and tan I use to wear without causing a flare up so I thought I’d give eco tan a go. To my surprise it didn’t cause any irritation to my skin. The skin care products I use day and night are derived from essential oils and I’ve found if I mix them with tanning water the result isn’t as nice and sometimes comes out patchy. I saw adds suggesting to use the face tan water as well as the super fruit hydrator and one drop of glory oil so I thought I’d give that a go as I felt my skin need that bit of extra hydration whilst tanning (my skin is super dehydrated since having the laser and my skin feels horrible if I miss a night of my skin care routine) and it left my face evenly tanned and feeling hydrated. Super happy with all of the products that I even got the exfoliating scrub which I also love. I love the face tanning water but I do wish it came in a darker shade as I find I’m putting on 5x the recommended amount and I have to do this two nights in a row to achieve the colour I’m looking for. I am soo glad I purchased this face tan water. The colour is buildable and subtle, yet really effective. The tan water is literally the consistency of water, and covers the face nicely without a smell or noticeable colour/residue. I notice a light tan after one application, and a very glowly tan after 2-3 nights. I can now see this product as a permanent member of my tanning collection, and am soo glad I purchased it. Wow I really loved all the face and skin care products (sorry so many to names) I am really happy with all the products I am using. For the facts that is all natural. The following is my routine daily . I wash my face in the am and pm using the super citrus cleanser put dry then followed by super fruit toner, glory oil and super fruit. hydratior. Between tree products I let it dry before applying the next product on. . I used face tan water three times a week and am very Happy with it as it give me the glow I need to musk my tired face as I had insomnia . I used super açai expfoliator once a week and face compost mask once a week . I loved the hand sanitiser as it is very convenient to just put it in your hand bag so you have your own hand sanitiser wherever you go and whenever you need it . I used my coconut body milk moisturiser daily after shower and whenever I need it in between . Love the coconut mint body wash and I used the tan remover hand glove to lather myself with it and at same time my skin get daily mild exfoliate and I notice my skin is very smooth . I have self tanned semi-regularly for a few years now. I wouldn’t call myself a beginner, but I was still a little nervous about trying this product since there is no guide color. But so far I have had no streaking, splotching, or patchiness. The color definitely takes 4 hours to develop; ideally I should leave it on for 6-12 hours to really get dark. I’m pretty light/pale and I got medium for reference. It’s not super sticky and the “self tan smell” isn’t as bad as some other brands. It’s still there, though. I’ve literally never used a truly odorless self tanner so I won’t knock this one for having that scent. The only reason I give it 4 starts rather than 5 is that I don’t like the color as much as St Tropez or St Moris. This one isn’t orange, but it still doesn’t have the green or violet undertone that other tanners do which looks better on my cool-toned skin. Overall, if you’re a beginner, I would opt for a mousse product. I have enough tanning experience to know what spots I usually miss so this has been good for me. before tanologist, I would just use gradual tanning/bronzing lotions but I decided after hearing all about it, I would try tanologist. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. I've used it only twice so far and I'm obsessed. The only small issue I have is the smell but it really isn't too bad. The tan you want to achieve depends on how much you use and how quickly you shower after, so you are in complete control. The first use, I didn't use as much and I showered after three hours and I definitely saw results but they weren't drastic. The second time I used, I left on for about 8 hours (overnight) and I saw beautiful results!!!! I use my hands to rub in and I didn't have any splotching but I did have an awkward fake tan on my hands (LOL) I washed them right after but make sure you wash and scrub them better than I did!! Other areas to give more attention to would be elbows, front and back of knees, belly button and feet! I 10/10 reccomend this product, a beautiful, natural tan!!Jules
Tanologist gives beautiful, natural, glowing tan results. I’m a self-tan expert, I’ve tried them all because I’m super pasty white and tan weekly. Tanologist is the best, aside from pro/salon spray tan and easy to apply. The only thing is, it takes 24 hours to really develop. This is not an apply in the morning and be tan that night. I apply after I shower before bed they sleep in it and rinse and moisturize like crazy next day and twice daily after to make it last. The instructions say you can rinse after a few hours but in my experience you really need to give it 8-12 hours to see the best result. It smells ok, not like tanner but more green, grassy and the smell fades as it dries. The tan water dries more quickly than the mousse but only 4 stars because the spray nozzle can clog. i like this product. its the first one ive ever used. i applied it at night and by the morning the glitter was gone. there are a few places where it rubbed off so i need to be nore careful next time. also i probably wont put any on my feet next time. i used a makeup brush and that still wasnt a good idea. everywhere i used a mitt looks pretty good though. it is quite dark against my fair skin so for sure should have went down to light maybe but overall not bad. not a fan of the sticky ness while its drying but easy to get over when you just expect it. it didnt stay sticky. i do wish it dried a little faster. its very hard to get off though so while thats probably mostly a good thing.. its harder to get rid of mistakes.alucas
I'm so glad I found this at Walmart. I used this a couple yrs ago and loved it but have been unable to find it at the other drug store I shop at. The application is hard to mess up and if you exfoliate with both a scrub and a glove, it goes on so well and leaves an even glowy color to my skin. I use a cheap application glove to apply it. I've used soooo many sunless tanners and I am sick of the streaking ( mousse is notorious for streaking). I don't get the bad reviews on it being 'watery', mine is a thicker gel- like consistency. If I could give this zero stars I would. I was excited to get this in the mail and try it I ordered it off Walmart.com. First of all I’m a pretty pale skinned person so I was looking for a little summer color without sitting in the sun all the time. This product does give pretty nice color I will give it that. I have no idea how this product has a majority of good reviews, in the instructions it says to wait until it dries before you get dressed and it literally takes so long to dry and while you’re waiting for it to dry you feel grossly sticky. The people that left these good reviews maybe they don’t mind feeling sticky, who knows. I hope I help someone else out before buying this product because it is a no go. I cannot sit around my house basically naked waiting for this stuff to take it’s good old time to dry and feel super sticky. I picked this up when I was out of town. I just wanted a tan I was out in the sun and realized how pale I looked. I just saw this and said wth why not I'll give it a shot. I was shocked at how well this stuff works. I put on lotion right out of the shower anyways and this was great went on great didn't make me orange or patchy for me. I put this on straight as I'm done showering make sure your not damp I mean right when u turn the shower off put this on. Work in sections as if u was putting on lotion. I do my legs first then my arms and rub the rest whatever's left on my hands on my stomach and chest and sometimes neck. Pat dry don't wipe or use rough motions just simply use the towel to pat over your legs and arms and wherever else. Put your clothes on and wait till morning or later that night you'll be able to see results on the 3rd day of use if your just started using this. I didn't think this would even do much for me. I'm surprised at how well this has turned out. I had a nice glowy tan while I was out of town and I've continued using it when I got home. Everyone thinks I got a tan from a weekend trip shhh lol nobody has to know lol. Oh make sure to wash your hands very well!!! As I got fake tan between my fingers but that's my fault not the product. Try it I think it's a overall decent product. Also the calms of not leaving stains on anything is also very true. I have used this twice. The first time was because I was going on the boat and it was the first time out in a bathing suit bc of winter. I used it so I wouldn’t be blinding in the sun. It gave me a nice little tan, the second time I used it it gave me a deeper tan. I used it all over my body (it only says legs and arms but I put it everywhere except my face). The result was an even, natural, streak free tan with NO self tanner SMELL! I like it a lot. If you are looking for a natural tan and NOT a Jersey shore tan, then give this a try! You will love it! I used this for several months during the summer. I loved it! The only thing I will say is that it did make my skin a little bumpy. I have sensitive skin so it was probably a VERY minor reaction. It was so mild, however, that I kept using it! It made my skin look healthy. I am very fair and wear sunscreen everyday so I like to use something to give me a little color in the summer months. This is great because it’s incredibly easy! I found it worked the best when I’d pat a little water off of my body BEFORE applying this and then obviously wash my hands well. I don’t recommend using a traditional self tanner on top of this (even if it’s been a few days since using it last) because it creates a sort of film that doesn’t allow the other self tanner to penetrate your skin. Great product. I’ve tried almost everything from loving tan and other brands. Caveat that I prefer the ultra dark from the non-express, though this is my backup when I’m going to restock and my preferred is out. It’s nice to alternate between developing time, too. The color after two hours is great, non streaky, deep, and golden. Sometimes I will still sleep in it as I’m used to the 6-8 hour development time of the standard formula. I don’t wake up looking over developed. Exfoliation makes the difference in a poor/good application. Exfoliate properly! This will stain sheets or clothes when wearing. Sometimes I will blowdry on cool or stand in front of my fan to help wirh dressing but it will transfer if not careful. If it’s on sheets or clothing, it comes out still in the wash. This is a Holy Grail product for sure. I have naturally pale olive skin and this literally looks like my skin tone, but darker. There is not even a whiff of orange in this formula. I have tried Loving Tan 8-hour and this Express formula; there are trade-offs. With any Express formula, after the time passes (2 hours) you RINSE off the guide color (no soap) and the color continues to develop up to 24 hours. Do not apply lotion, and try to avoid water during this 24 hour period. Loving Tan sells the overnight formula in Ultra Dark color, which I prefer, BUT I find the 2 hour formula more convenient. If the color isn't dark enough, just reapply after 24 hours. This product goes on easily with the applicator mitt (also way better quality than drugstore brands) and comes off after a week with a bit of scrub and an exfoliating mitt. In the meantime it fades evenly – EVEN IN WATER. If I use self tanner to go to the beach, I still want to go in the water! This product absolutely lets you do that, it'll just fade without leaving patches. My one and only complaint is that after opening, the bottle leaks if you don't keep it vertical. I still brought it on a plane on vacation though. Nothing a Ziploc can't fix. Just try it y'all.Elle
Like most self-tanners, I am constantly chasing the high of finding *the* perfect tanning product. Problem is, I really don't think it exists. However this is pretty close. I am naturally pale with dark features and warm undertones so the "orange"ness of this product doesn't bother me. I feel like it develops into a solid brown with red undertones. Not to offend anyone, but I don't find that product works well on blondes or anyone with cool undertones. The contrast is too dramatic and it DOES look more orange. All of this said, the product works best if you keep it on between 3-4 hours (any longer I find it can get splotchy) and then sleeping while it develops. The color 8 hours after rinse is amazing. It can be quite drying and can be difficult to exfoliate it off, but it's not unbearable. Just take a hot shower and scrub with a wash cloth and soap. Color lasts about 4 days before it starts to get splotchy.Bella
