I was waiting for a sale to repurchase urban decay eyeshadow primer in Eden that I had used to the last drop. I noticed this had a silicone texture basically dupe of one of the make up forever face primers so I started putting this on my eyelids and under eyes instead. First of all, zero eye irritation. And second, I kid you not it holds shadow on my oily lids so well! It's not as opaque as Eden but I kind of prefer this because it doesn't accentuate the eyelid wrinkles as much. I do get some creasing, but not till I've had it on for like maybe 12 hours or longer. It can make my combo skin feel dry on the cheeks so I moisturize the cheeks well first. But it does seem to help keep me t zone shine free longer. If the light shade were more warm toned I would love it more, but my skin is neutral-warm so it's acceptable on me. I won't knock a star for that, but it would be great if they came out with one more shade like the Elta MD UV Elements which has a warmer undertone which gives a healthy warm glow. I did try mixing the light and the dark ones but I personally didn't find the shades undertones mixed to complement me. For reference I'm MAC NC 25-30 but more on the neutral side.Jammy
I'm a skincare and sunscreen fanatic. I hate how most sunscreens look under my makeup. But, I have decent skin so I can just use this as my foundation now! I believe that's the under purpose since it is tinted. You need to read ingredients to see if it will separate from your foundation if you plan to later foundation on top. I do not. I bought his because of a tiktok – the girl wearing this had similar skin to my own. Combo skin with some acne and visible pores. It looked so good on her and on mine as well! Please still use moisturizer with this and let it set before applying. Sunscreen is not meant to be moisturizing; so everyone saying it is drying makes me think they are trying to use this without moisturizer. I wear this every day. I used to wear concealer and powder, but now I just wear this. For me it performs so much better than way more expensive tinted sunscreens I've tried. It applies beautifully, doesn't pill even when layered over skincare, and evens out my skin tone without looking like makeup. I have sensitive skin but this doesn't irritate, even around my eyes. Dries matte and helps keep my forehead from becoming too oily throughout the day. I am very pale but the light version works for me, and the tint is flexible enough that it still works when I've been (fake) tanning. It only oxidizes if I don't wash my face at night, but even then I don't look orange, just like I've been tanning. My one complaint is that in the winter the matte finish is a bit too dry around my eyes, which doesn't help my fine lines and can make my eye makeup look a bit cakey as the day goes on. I live this stuff. You can get it in drug stores and some grocery stores. I've seen it here in Central FL from $7 to $12. It goes on easily with a fine spray that's easy to control. And of course you can get to those hard to reach spots. The color is good, not orange at all. I used it on my face with no breakouts. It does have the faint tell tale scents of self tanner which goes away after it dries and sinks in….a few hours. Also the color does not last well. Pros: this product doesn't sting my sensitive eyes, and it prevents sunburn. Cons: It settles into the lines of my skin and makes them white. I end up with white lines across my neck, and the visual effect is similar to old age stage makeup. It makes the lines look deeper and more severe. Also, the performance under makeup is appallingly bad. Utterly woeful. I tried it with Bareminerals Barepro pressed powder, and I also tried it with the Lisa Eldridge longwearing liquid foundation, and the makeup looked nice when I first applied it, but then it quickly degraded over the next few hours. The powder foundation cracked so badly that it ended up looking like I had flaky snake scales all over my face. I was still at work, and I took a tissue and savagely wiped away the worst bits. The longwearing foundation fared better, but it split and cracked like a desert floor. The foundation I've been using instead for everyday wear, that doesn't sting my eyes but plays well with makeup, is the Supergoop Play. I get the big jug of it and use it on my face and body, and my makeup sits on top of it beautifully. I’ve recently started purchasing La Roche Posay products and am super happy with my purchase’s. This is the last thing I bought. I’m totally in love with it. It applies perfectly on my face and arms and leaves no white cast. Normally I spend $38-$65 dollars just for my face sunscreen but no more. This one is top dog now. It’s mostly physical with a tad bit of chemical but I’m ok with that. I use to try so hard and use products that were 100% clean and they are so expensive but what people don’t realize is there are non clean ingredients in practically everything. Makeup, skincare, hair products, ect. At least with La Roche Posay I don’t worry about it. It’s fragrance free and doesn’t have sulfates and the majority of the other bad stuff. One of my summer must haves. I think the only disappointment is that the sun protection for my skin is so great that while I would normally tan without it, but risk burning myself, with this product I can spend all day at the beach and not only not burn, but come home with a barely a tan. But that is my skin. Since I don’t want to end up looking like a leather handbag, I will swap my natural tan for this, and have patience with my toasted marshmallow. Just got back from a beach vacation to Florida and had to write a review because I LOVED this stuff. I applied before we went down to the beach (the SPF 30) and did not get sunburned. I love the consistency of this (a gel instead of a spray or lotion). I feel like spray sunscreens don’t last very long but this I feel like you use a lot less which is also nice. I don’t feel like I made me more bronze but I did like that it wasn’t white/didn’t leave a white cast and it smells amazing! This is by far my favorite sunscreen and after using it this last week, it will be my go to for sure!CLK

I bring this with me whenever I go to the beach now! This product gives you just the right amount t of color without looking fake. Not even close to a regular self tanner which is good, definitely more like a tinted moisturizer. The smell is fantastic, very warm and beachy. Please never stop selling this! I love this sunscreen so much. It has really good ingredients so that it's perfect as a body lotion and sunscreen in one during summertime. It does not really bronze the skin though. I have fair skin (Mac NC10) and I would say it just makes my skin look more glowy instead of bronzed.ARG

I randomly bought this not thinking it would be anything special but needed a body sunscreen for an upcoming trip. This ended up being a really nice surprise since this contains a lot of nourishing and skin friendly ingredients, is water resistant, oil free and has no white cast. My fiancé even asked that we buy more of this since he did not mind the smell of the sunscreen, which is shocking since he is really picky with the way sunscreen smells. This is perfect for the body but may not work for all on the face. My skin can be a little oily and I thought this made my face look shiny, but was perfect if I went swimming in the ocean since it helped moisturize my skin from the salt and sand. I would recommend this for any outdoor activity but would be cautious if you were attending a special event since this may make oily skin types feel uncomfortably shiny. The tropical smell is also pleasant and perfect for summer but not sure if I would enjoy using this in the cooler months. Personally, the scent would feel out of season for me. Overall, I would recommend this sunscreen for the summer since it is great for the face and body. I think it is also nice that this product is inexpensive for the ingredients you find in this US sunscreen. Doing some research I read that SPF products are amazing to help your skin in the long run- boy was I ever thankful for this sample. The smell is amazing, it reminds me of summers at the beach with my family, nostalgia hit me like a brick! The product itself is light weight, it doesn't feel cakey on the skin and blends oh so smoothly. I've been using it two ways- one right out of the shower so my skin takes it better and it helps moisturizer but also before I put on my makeup as a primer. Either fashion works well. My makeup goes on smoother with a matte finish (my preferred type). I love receiving these sample products because it really helps me solidify my decision on actually going to purchase these products after I've used the sample up. It's not warm enough here in Ontario to get the full effects with the sun but soon enough! Great product, highly recommend.

I bought this in the Spring & have used it every day for months. I’m in the sun a lot and as a sunscreen it works well. I use it once a day & it’s nearing the end now, lasting much longer than I expected. At this point in the products’ life, I can see a bit of oil separation, so I need to give it a small shake before using. Fortunately, I didn’t have any issues with packaging that other reviewers mentioned. I don’t wear concealer, foundation, or any kind of make-up on my skin. I bought this because I wanted something that could even out my skin tone without using make up. In the summer months I did NOT love it. Although the glow is nice, I found it was way too shiny & made my skin look oily & sweaty. That being said, I also bought the SUPERGOOP! (Re)setting powder SPF45 & found the combination of the two worked really well together. I would use this first thing in the morning, and reapply sunscreen with the resetting powder before heading out. The powder toned down the excessive shine while still maintaining the even look of my skin. Now that we’re coming to fall however, I actually really like this sunscreen by itself! I live in a place where the climate during fall & winter is much drier (the sun is also lower in the sky, which makes a difference for shine). As a result, my skin is a lot drier & the sunscreen actually works very well and looks really good. In summary, I would recommend this for the fall/winter, but not for the summer. In the future, I’ll probably just buy the mini size and use it when the climate is drier and find something more suitable for the summer.perogypizza
I was really reluctant to try this sunscreen to be honest, and mainly for the name “super goop”. To me that sounds like the sunscreen was going to be gooey and thick, and if you throw in the word “glow screen” I thought for sure I would be walking around like a disco ball. The consistency of the product itself is quite opposite of what I thought. i only apply a small amount because a little goes a long way. The consistency is thin enough to smooth onto my face and settles into the perfect finish. I’m on day two of trying this sunscreen because I’m wearing it with different products. Yesterday I tried under my full coverage makeup and no greasy face so yeah! This morning I tried it with some bronzing drops to add some color and again the consistency is gorgeous. Overall, I feel like this is a great product, especially for us oily face combination skin peeps, I’m really impressed. I also heard it goes great when mixed with tinted moisturizers so I will try that next. If I wear this sunscreen alone without makeup I may dab some powder in my t-zone for extra reassurance but I will try that next.joy.w
I loved This sunscreen, let’s start there. we went on vacation to Egypt and this was going to be my ultimate test as sweat and direct intense sun would be the test of all tests. I placed it over my vit c serum and moisturizer and applied as directed before leaving our hotels. We took it with us to reapply regularly. For the first couple days the formula kept together but then it separated into a clear liquid and what I am supposing is the golden part. I shook vigorously and it homologated together a bit. But back at the hotel under ac it came back together. This separating was a bummer because no amount of shaking (with normal strength not a machine) would not bring it back together under the heat which when we really needed it. This being said, it still did its job! Protected and nourished my skin while under that intense climate. I would like really like a water proof version for water sports as this washed away when at the beach and snorkeling but kept when sweating. As for people commenting about piling, the chemicals are reacting… what ever is being used underneath or on top is causing the split of the formula. I see a lot of negative reviews of this product, but I honestly I think it’s pretty amazing. I was taking a chance buying this, because my skin hasn’t agreed with other glow recipe products in the past (guessing because of the amount of fragrance in their other products), however I couldn’t resist trying a new sunscreen! I have been using it in the morning without any moisturizer at the moment, and haven’t seen any issue with dry skin. For reference I am combo (oily t zone, dry cheeks), can be acne prone, and have seen sensitivity with fragrant products or products that contain essential oils. This product does have a light watermelon scent, but it dissipates within 20 min or so. It’s working well with my Lys foundation currently, but idk what it would be like with a powder or matte foundation.. it might pill as other reviews have suggested. I have been using this product for a few weeks now and have not noticed any sensitivity or increase in acne. And I have tried other chemical sunscreens that have caused my acne to flare up, so this is certainly one of a kind! If you have a bit of extra money to spend, and your skin kinda sounds like mine, I highly recommend trying this!Foxx77
Throughout my skincare journey, I've placed a strong emphasis on purchasing clean, high-quality products, even if it costs a bit more than, say, something I'd buy at the grocery store or drug store. However, SPF has been, for reasons I can't really explain, one of those skincare products that I just haven't held to that same standard. I've always been more content to just buy a "cheaper" natural brand. Up until this product, I'd been using the Alba Botanica SPF 50 sport sunscreen. It was fine and did what it needed to. But since discovering Glow Recipe, I decided to make the splurge and try out their SPF. Let me just say, I'm SO glad that I did. One of the most notable differences between this SPF and other brands that I've used is the texture. Whereas my last sunscreen always felt so thick and like I had to really work at blending it in, the watermelon glow niacinamide sunscreen just effortless glides on. It's so silky smooth. I also love that it has just a hint of natural watermelon fragrance. Plus, it feels so nourishing, and it really does wonders to help with the texture of my skin and alleviate any redness I may have. I know it's a bit pricier than your average sunscreen, but this is a fabulous product, and if you're willing to splurge, I couldn't recommend this more.Bryce
Chemical sunscreen that is ensconced in great ingredients. WHY? Ingredients that accumulate in fish and breast milk. No one should be using any chemical sunscreen. Children are advised not to use at least one of the active ingredients because studies have shown that it aggravates rosacea and eczema. Japan limits not just one but two of the ingredients in this product. Bottom line is any sunscreen that is “light” and adsorbs easily, is chemical based – it soaks into your skin. If it accumulates in fish that swim below water treatment plants, what makes you think it doesn’t accumulate in you when you directly slather it on your skin? The government approvals of these ingredients is based on the thought that more people will die of skin cancer then will die of chemical toxicity, but how do we know that all the cancers we have aren’t a result of all the chemicals we are exposed to daily? And all of the reactive copy in the ad suggested GR knows this is an issue and is trying to head off complaints and questions in advance. I have no doubt that this is a wonderful sunscreen. The other ingredients are great. But if you care about your health you’ll stop using chemical sunscreens. I am pale and pasty with freckles. I have always had an extremely difficult time attempting to get color from natural sunlight, however, the spf has changed this for me. I try to get about 45 minutes of sun no less than 3 times a week while using this product. The tan does not happen overnight. It is a gradual tan that takes consistency! I have not burned once which is a huge feat for someone as pale as I am. I will say I use a very liberal amount and go through a bottle about every three weeks. Overall, I highly recommend this product for extremely pale and pasty individuals who have never had a tan!Rsal29

For years, I have been chasing fragrances from Bobbi Brown’s “Beach” to CB I Hate Perfume’s “At the Beach 1966” to Tom Ford’s “Portofino Neroli” to try and recapture the smell of the true, classic scent of Coppertone. These fragrances come close, but they, still, fall short. I’ll add that the last two fragrances are quite expensive —and people are paying these huge price tags just to recapture the iconic, happy smell of the true, original Coppertone fragrance. There’s a lot of talk online about people missing the old scent, and, apparently there was some talk of Coppertone’s making a fragrance with the original scent. Please, bring back the old scent in suntan oil or sunscreen and/or make an ear de parfum for us that hits the nail on the head. I randomly bought this not thinking it would be anything special but needed a body sunscreen for an upcoming trip. This ended up being a really nice surprise since this contains a lot of nourishing and skin friendly ingredients, is water resistant, oil free and has no white cast. My fiancé even asked that we buy more of this since he did not mind the smell of the sunscreen, which is shocking since he is really picky with the way sunscreen smells. This is perfect for the body but may not work for all on the face. My skin can be a little oily and I thought this made my face look shiny, but was perfect if I went swimming in the ocean since it helped moisturize my skin from the salt and sand. I would recommend this for any outdoor activity but would be cautious if you were attending a special event since this may make oily skin types feel uncomfortably shiny. The tropical smell is also pleasant and perfect for summer but not sure if I would enjoy using this in the cooler months. Personally, the scent would feel out of season for me. Overall, I would recommend this sunscreen for the summer since it is great for the face and body. I think it is also nice that this product is inexpensive for the ingredients you find in this US sunscreen. Only thing I would caution is that oily skin types may want to avoid using this for formal events since they may prefer a more matte finish. As I'm getting older (soon to be 33- old for me ok!)- I've been really cognizant of my skin care routine. Doing some research I read that SPF products are amazing to help your skin in the long run- boy was I ever thankful for this sample. The smell is amazing, it reminds me of summers at the beach with my family, nostalgia hit me like a brick! The product itself is light weight, it doesn't feel cakey on the skin and blends oh so smoothly. I've been using it two ways- one right out of the shower so my skin takes it better and it helps moisturizer but also before I put on my makeup as a primer. Either fashion works well. My makeup goes on smoother with a matte finish (my preferred type). I love receiving these sample products because it really helps me solidify my decision on actually going to purchase these products after I've used the sample up. It's not warm enough here in Ontario to get the full effects with the sun but soon enough! Great product, highly recommend.

I will say I appreciate the matte texture of this sunscreen. However, the color is way too dark. I look completely orange when I put this on my face. The other problem I have is that it pills no matter what I put underneath. I also find it to dry out my skin by the end of the day. I use a strong retinoid every night and I don't love the flaking. Had to return this one.
I use this all summer and have started to use it in winter also- just a smaller amount. It states it is a “primer” and I normally don’t use a primer because I don’t wear foundation but I just use this as I would a tinted moisturizer. I use a serum beforehand and the Tizo on top. I then use a loose powder over, like bare minerals mineral veil. The Tizo blurs pores, adds a really nice color to my fair complexion, and is a matte finish. A little goes a long way! It was originally recommended to me by my dermatologist.JDavis
This “primer” has a good texture and it’s good under makeup. I like that it’s all mineral and spf 40, higher than most primers. However, this tint is not universal and should come in different shades. I am very fair and this tint is much too dark for me. It might work for those with deeper skin tones.

For a sunscreen I'm kind of picky. To me is important that it's lightweight, doesn't leave a greasy skin (typical oily skin problems) and doesn't feel sticky. I love the formula of this sunscreen. It's light, stays nicely and is hydrating. I use my daily moisturizer before putting this sunscreen and I'm so glad I can enjoy the sunlight without feeling like my skin is all oiled up. I'd say this is nice for anyone, whether you have tan or not. If you're pale and want to get a bronze skin then this is the right product, if you have a tan this will enhance it and still will give you a nice golden, bronze glow. ✨daniela.c
One of my summer must haves. I think the only disappointment is that the sun protection for my skin is so great that while I would normally tan without it, but risk burning myself, with this product I can spend all day at the beach and not only not burn, but come home with a barely a tan. I am a natural redhead. Years ago I would love to go to the tanning beds, but wrinkling, freckling, and fear of skin cancer has kept me away. I have been in search of a perfect self tanner and have tried them ALL – from expensive St. Tropez, Fake Bake, Jergens…so many!.I have not been happy with the results or color of any. So, I was looking at lotions, always being a fan of AG products, and I had an idea! If this has bronzers, could I use it even without the bed and get color? I tried it and the answer is YES! Here is my process:1. make sure all skin is clean 2 apply to full body. i do my face, but if you have sensitive skin, be careful.3. WASH HANDS! They will stain if you don't! Pay attention to nails and knuckles! DON'T GET WATER ON BODY.4. I wait ONLY AN HOUR and shower. (this is amazing for me. self tanners take forever!)5. color develops in 6-8 hours, so don't be sad when the color of the lotion washes away in the shower. It will be back soon! Another benefit is the smell. Usually I smell my self tan as long as it's on my skin. With this, I only smell it after the first shower. After the second shower, the smell is TOTALLY GONE! AMAZING! The color fades slowly and not patchy. I plan on using only once a week to keep some color. Cons: The only con is the color is SLIGHTLY orange, but not so much that makes me self conscious. I feel pretty, toned and tan. Try varying the time you leave on your skin for deeper color. An hour is perfect for me. Any longer, and I think I may look too fake. I’m really loving this! I’m very fair and try to avoid too much sun so I love a sunless tan. In the past I would look orange though, not cute! This stuff goes on just like lotion, it’s white and as you rub it in it’s clear. 3 hours later it’s noticeable! Do a second application for a deeper tan. It does have some of the unpleasant smell most sunless tanners have but I just wait 3 hours and shower. Smell is gone and color stays!heather.g
This is definitely the best fake tanner I’ve used and I have used many including the higher end ones like coco and eve etc. The smell is light and fades quickly, it’s cruelty free which is a requirement for me and the results are the most natural I’ve ever had, no orange, no streaks. Like a natural golden tan after a day at the beach, it doesn’t transfer or get sticky and a little goes a long way. I used a buffing mitten to apply and put clothes on 15-20 minutes after. It also made my skin feel so soft. I will be buying more of this. Great job Alba!Z

And this one is it. It’s got a (n excellent) rating of 1 on EWG’s SkinDeep database. It’s non-nano, reef safe, non-scented, mineral-based (in other words, ~safe~), and it’s easy to apply. I have a pretty fair complexion and need to spend a little time massaging this into/onto my skin because initially it looks a bit pale and splotchy. By ‘a little time,’ though, I mean about one minute 😸. I like to keep my morning skincare routine pretty short. I keep one in my medicine cabinet and one in my bag to reapply as needed. This is the most perfect Sunscreen. I haven’t been able to find a sunscreen that’s not so greasy, especially when you’re have oily skin. It’s like they only make it worse. Well I had my fingers crossed with this one since I’ve already purchased about 7-8 different kinds ranging from Sunday Riley’s, La roche posay, Peter Thomas Roth, neutrogena, Higher Education, and another one from Amazon that is a spray on that is great if it wouldn’t choke me up from the smell, and the chemicals from the aerosol can. So yea, needless to say, I didn’t think this was going to be that good, but I was willing to give it a shot, because I had nothing to lose. Well let me tell you this stuff is the TRUTH!! Do you hear me?! The truth. Stop debating and get you some now! It isn’t greasy at all it’s close to being matte but leaves my skin glowing. Now it does look white putting it on but once it melts into your skin it leaves it glowing. Also does nicely with applying makeup afterwards. No pilling. No greasing mess. I was so excited to finally try Eclipse Sheer Mineral Sunscreen with SPF 30, and it is so lovely. A little goes a long way, and it glides on skin easily and doesn’t leave a white cast or greasiness to the skin. It layers under makeup well, and it can be used all over the body. I especially love that it has ZERO scent! You almost forget you have any sunscreen on at all, and that makes it ideal for daily use. Aside from this, there are so many other great things about this sunscreen. For one, it is reef safe! So many of the sunscreens out there that are terrible for the oceans and marine life. The Eclipse sunscreen is 100% mineral based and protects against UVA and UVB rays, blue light, and pollution damage. And as with all Earth Harbor products, is is purely natural, ethical, and sustainable; it contains amazing ingredients like macroalgae and green tea extract – nothing synthetic! Goes on easily, spreads well. Stays on well. Nice hint of neutral color similar to a tinted moisturizer. Slight shiny/dewy finish, similar to other sunscreen finishes. Did not cause my sensitive skin to break out. Wore it for a week in Hawaii in very humid conditions. Spent time working outside, sightseeing, hiking and swimming at the beach. This is a really great tinted sunscreen. I wouldn’t apply it every 2 hours like suggested for sunscreens however this is my new daily go to foundation/moisturizer and sunscreen all in one. I love it! The texture has a nice creamy feel to it that soaks into my skin and doesn’t just sit on it or build up. I am 47 and my skin is showing signs of aging. Make up seems to just make all the little signs of aging even worse! With this, it soaks into my skin moisturizing it and leaving a nice tint that compliments my skin well. I don’t get any lines cakiness or residue from it like regular foundations. I love that it is specifically made for my face! EltaMD UV Restore is a 100% mineral sunscreen that claims to improve sun-damaged skin. It contains Squalane, Ginger Root Extract and Saccharide Isomerate which helps with skin smoothness, minimizes dark spots and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains antioxidants and protects your skin from UV light and free radicals. Does it do all of this, I can’t say for sure but so far, I am seeing more positive results than negative (actually no negative) so I will continue using this product. Honestly, I haven’t seen any negative results. Not even any breakouts which is unusual for me. In summary, I do recommend EltaMD UV Restore for all women young and old. It is never too early to start protecting your face and skin from the sun and all of the other environmental hazards we face today. Especially with all of the UV light we are exposed to today. I really enjoy this formula but I have a few caveats with it. I find it to be gentle and nonirritating on my dry, sensitive skin. The ginger root extract does tingle when first applied but the sensation subsides. It is a fragrance-free formula which I really like (you can kind of smell the ginger root extract at first but it is not noticeable). When reading the reviews of this SPF, I noticed many people mentioning the white cast. I have a lightly pigmented skin tone so I decided to purchase the tinted version in case I needed to mix the two together. It was quite an investment, but I am satisfied with the way the sunscreen looks mixed together. The regular version alone creates too much of a white cast on my complexion. But when used in conjunction with the Tinted version, I find it to look more natural (3 pumps tinted and 1 pump regular covers my face, neck, and hands). When first applied, it does look a little shiny but since my skin is so dry the shininess does not last long and I normally apply the EltaMD Face & Body lotion on top. I do not use foundation or other makeup so I am unsure of how it may react to other products. But in my experience, the texture and application is great and a little product goes a long way. I appreciate this SPF doesn't have Hyaluronic Acid and I think it is a great option for people with sensitivities.Anonymous
