This is a fun way to temporarily color your hair! I would say it’s more pink than rose gold. I have balayaged hair. Did a quick towel dry of my hair and applied it all over and left on for 3 minutes. It lasted pretty much one wash. After one wash, I still have color left, but I know that it’ll be gone by my next wash. I still have plenty of product left in the bottle, so I think it’s pretty cost effective, and a fun way to switch up your hair until your next wash day! (Pictured: my hair prior to use, hair after application (I cut my bangs in between the two haha), and my hair after one wash). As you can see, it was brightest where my hair was lightest and faded quite a bit after one wash. I would probably leave it in longer in the shower, but I would worry it would make the color even brighter.Emily
I bought this after watching a few YouTube videos that showed it really did work. I tried it 2 ways.. the first as directed and the second to clean completely dry hair I had fair results with both… The first time I just dampened my hair and applied the product, I found it really difficult to get complete coverage on the back of my head. The results were very good for where I actually got the color on. The next day with completely dry hair I was able to see where I missed and applied more to those areas. Then washed my hair. Here are my tips- 1) have someone to help you, it makes it much easier, if you don’t have a partner to help, separate your hair in lots of sections. 2) get a spray bottle of water to lightly dampen your hair. 3) Spray in from the bottom sections up, otherwise the top parts will be extra pink and the bottom and the back won’t be. 4) once your whole head is completely saturated let is soak in and then rinse out. My other tips- if it’s too pink just shampoo it again and let it rinse out really well.Nopeyitnope
This works well if you completely disregard the directions. Here's what I recommend: Shampoo hair, wait til completely dry. Take some headache medicine because the scent is very strong, and I'm not even sensitive to things like that. Put on dark clothing (the spray is VERY messy). Wrap your oldest, most stained towel around your shoulders. Spray your head, brush thru using a wide-tooth comb. Spray your head again. If you're not using at least half the can, you're not using enough. Brush thru again. Put on a shower cap. Wipe off your face, ears, neck, arms, counters, facuets, anything that the spray could have landed on. Wait around for as long as you can (I did 2 hours). Rinse in shower and condition as normal (but wipe down your shower afterward because this STAINS). Voila! A subtle pink tint! A lot of work, but I always wanted to know how I'd look with pink hair so I was fine with it.MadeInChicago

I am in love with Roux Fanci-full Temporary Hair Color Rinse in Frivolous Fawn as it's a lifesaver in-between trips to the salon. Roux addresses my outgrow when I've got extended time separating my salon visits and allows me to successfully blend my outgrow without lines separating my hair color and what's been treated with Roux and doesn't alter my gator color nor cause any damage. I used this for Halloween. It looked great, but got EVERYWHERE. I’ve gotten it out of my hair but my skin and everything I touch has it all over. I did this Friday night and it is now Wednesday night. I’ve taken 5 showers, scrubbed things by hand with a sponge in laundry detergent, tried micellar, and even scrubbed my neck with a magic eraser. Even tonight things I’ve touched have had red transfer. It ruined 2 pairs of my work uniform and multiple company shirts and sweatshirts. Some were dark and some were light gray. I touched a white cat on Monday and it GOT ON THE CAT AND STAINED THE CAT. that was DAYS after I used it. It looked wonderful. It washed out of my hair in 2 washes, but it won’t come out of anything else no matter what I do. It dyed my skin and is STILL transferring almost a week later. The Rose Gold was perfect shade on my blonde hair. Bout the Truest Rose Gold to its name. Not Pink. Not Red. But the deep hue of a pink to red rose. The Gold highlights in metallic to give a magical and natural look. On medium cool blonde looks like Rose Gold jewelry. Bought this for my kids for fun and sprayed the tips of their hair blue. The bottle did say some cloth transfer was possible but didn’t mention that this stuff would turn the entire back of your shirt, your neck and shoulders, hands, and anything you come into contact with blue. It was so messy my kids couldn’t sit down because it was getting all over our chairs. I immediately put them into the shower to rinse it out so it wouldn’t ruin anything else. Two washes later my tub is still blue when they get out even though you can no longer see this product in their hair. I have being dying my hair bright, vibrant red for just over five years now, and Arctic Fox has been part of my color maintenance routine since day one. Vibrant red hair is not easy to maintain and keep from fading quickly, which can very quickly do serious damage to your hair if your only using ammonia-based chemical dyes every time you need to refresh your color. Arctic Fox doesn't damage hair at all. In fact, it helps undue the damage caused by permanent dyes because it doesn't have any harsh chemicals that strip hair. Arctic Fox is actually GOOD for your hair and works just like a conditioner, not like a hair dye. I add Arctic Fox to my regular conditioner (sulfate free of course) so that every time I wash my hair I'm also keeping my red looking vibrant and even healthier every time. I always wash my hair using the coolest water I can tolerate and after I shampoo I apply my premixed bottle of 3/4 sulfate free conditioner, 1/4 Arctic Fox Wrath + a dollop of Violet Dream and let it sit on my hair secured on top of my with a claw clip while I finish the rest of my shower routine, just like I would do with a nourishing hair mask. Once my routine is done, I rinse out my hair thuroughly in cool water and towel dry it only so I get the most out of conditioning my hair, and viola! My looks, feels softer and healthier than before I washed it, plus my red still looks like it did the day I first day I dyed it. It's a win win. Not only does Artic Fox keep my red looking great, but it leaves my hair healthier every time also. Plus the custom colors you can create by mixing different different Arctic Fox colors together are endless! I was amazed at the color i got by mixing Purple AF + a touch of Aquamarine! It sounds crazy to mix aquamarine and deep purple together, but the color came out a multidimensional dark blue/purple-ish color that changes color depending on how the light hits it. It's my new favorite color! It does come out very dark, so I apply it (no conditioner added) to the bottom 1/3 of my hair and lightly pull the color upwards into my red to get a perfect blended fade from bright red to deep blue/purple. I love this stuff. I am older and gray hair just does not look good on me. But as I get older my hair sucks up perm hair dye on the ends and turning them black, while about 2 inches at the roots will turn either blonde or red. But Arctic Fox fits the bill, and it smells good (like grapes). It does not damage your hair, as it is semi perm and no peroxide or developer. So far I have used Wrath, Poison, Sunset Orange, Ritual, Purple Rain, Transylvania. Purple Rain (now called Purple AF) and Transylvania were used as a mix. The colors will only bleed right after you apply them, but otherwise you do not need to worry about bleeding. Arctic Fox really is like using a deep conditioner with highly pigmented color in it. Leaves your hair shiny, soft and smelling like grapes. Wash you hair in cold water and only a few times a week, the color will loose its intensity and fade not go away. The Arctic Fox web site tells you how the colors fade, for example Wrath is red but fades to pink. So in the course of 4 weeks your hair will be vibrant red, magenta, dark pink, lighter pink. I do not bleach my hair, so on the front (the gray and white part) the color looks like what it is like on bleached hair. While the back is brown about a level 5, so it is highlighted with the color I used. If you plan to use it on unbleached hair then you have to use the more vivid colors.
I have virgin dirty blonde hair. I bought the shade Transylvania which is a pure black color. I applied it last night to my clean hair, no products or nothing in it and let it sit in foil for about 40 minutes. I didn't apply the dye to my whole head, I just wanted to add pieces here and there throughout my hair like I've done in the past. Upon rinsing my hair out with cold water and letting it dry I noticed how faded the black looks. In the shower the water ran blue. I know black dyes typically contain blue but this was like a vibrant blueish green. In artificial lighting the dye in my hair looks like a dark grey, but in the natural sunlight it looks like a greyish green which isn't very pretty at the moment. This hair dye is actually pretty cool it stays mostly around top of ya head one color and the depending on how long your hair is the bottom cooler half is a different color , only thing is it's temporary if it was permant it really would be one of my favorite dyes, but it's just until u wash ya hair. I probably won't use it very often just because it have to go thru the process of doing it and it don't last long, I would rather use a permant dye so I am able to wear it longer.tabatha.c

Was so excited to try this and so disappointed when I did. I wasn’t thrilled at the fact that it was only a temporary application and would wash out with shampoo. This caused me some concerned that if I was to sweat, would the color run? I started to dab it on my test strand of hair with the sponge as directed. Applied it and coated the hair. Then per directions I used the blow dryer to ensure it was all the way dry. Once dry, my hand was more turquoise colored than my hair. The color I used was purple heat to turquoise, and part of my hair never changed from turquoise even when cool. The other part didn’t even seem to have been colored at all. The texture of the hair I tested, now dry is like when you put too much dry shampoo in your hair, or maybe like when you put a lot of mousse on dry hair and brush it as it dries so it’s really greasy (yet it’s actually dry) looking but the opposite of silky and smooth. I will be returning this to get my money back.stacie.b

Omg this stuff is messy and gets everywhere. I literally should of covered my bathroom in plastic because it looked like I murdered Barney. There was purple everywhere. Good thing I cleans up easily. I mean it's hair chalk. It did take a few times over to get it to be as bright as I needed it to be, but it got there. Splat Hair Chalk is a great way to quickly add color to your hairstyle without commitment or damage. It is very easy to use, I just slid the compact down a selected strand of hair a few times until the chalk color deposited. You can repeat it until it gets the desired color impact. I did not believe this would show up in my dark brown hair, but it did. The violet sky color is like a pastel lavender, very pretty. I was shocked at how effectively it took to my curly hair and made it appear lighter without bleach or chemicals needed to achieve lightening. I like the idea of temporary color. One of my concerns was if the chalk would be drying to my hair. There was a bit of mess as far as dust from the compact, but it cleaned up easily. I did wish the lid was designed so that it would not snag on my hair. Time is a factor because it takes a while to pluck the strands and part hair in deciding where you want to apply the color, and it takes a few swipes for the color to really pop. I loved this product. I used purple and red. I mixed them because i didnt want too much of one color and i was hoping for something specific i had in my head.it worked out really well. The color lasted for a little while. The only bad part is is that it does stain…everything. it eventually does come out of the tub….kr clean erasers are my best friend. I purchased this product back in 2018 when I still used to color my hair. It was easy to apply and it for sure made my hair VERY red. Prior to using this product my hair was a chestnut blonde color. I have used other brands of red hair color and they all got the job done. The only warning I have about this product is that being that it is washable it will stain everything! If your tub has texture, it will be red everything you wash your hair. If you get dressed and your hair is wet, your clothes will be stained red. If you can get past that then this is a great productdaisy.m

I have used this product for two years now. My grey roots show so quickly. This crayon allows me to stretch the time out between colourings. I make a line with the product down my centre part and spread it around with a tissue. Without the touch up stick I would have to colour my roots every three weeks. I have darkish hair and I do not like the thin white stripe on the top of my head that appears so quickly after a colouring. Now I can delay chemically colouring my hair every six to seven weeks instead of every three to four weeks because my roots don't show.Beth
I received this product in my Cocotique subscription box. I don't have any greys yet but I think I may like to try this product to lightly darken my edges. My hair color is a dark sandy brown which is the same color as my skin. This sometimes gives the illusion that my edges are thinner than they actually are. I have soft black hair and I ordered red and blue mixed it together to make purple. The purple looked very bright and pigmented in my hair. Great product, washing out with water. Great way to add some hair color without bleaching or having it last for weeks. Very pigmented and I found it didn't easily transfer. Texture similar to any other hair wax or grease. I can use it on wet or dry hair and it lasts until my next wash day. Washes out very quickly. Only down side is it leaves hair a bit crunchy but adding a moisturizing product first helps with that. I watched a Utube video on how to apply product, and I highly recommend doing that because the application instructions are very brief. I like this brand because it stays put pretty well. After 1 washing it may require a touch-up, but compared to other brands I've tried this is a minor inconvenience. A small amount will transfer to fingers if you rub on it. As with all root sprays I have tried, it does leave a slight filmy feeling on hair, but not intolerable in my opinion.Carole
I have used several different brands of root touch-up and this one is my least favorite. It does not come out consistently, even when clicking the recommended 3-5 times after the initial priming. It is a thicker consistency and doesn’t apply evenly or easily at all. I really was hoping this one would be a good product due to the size and portability, unfortunately I can’t say I recommend it, even the pigment is lighter than other similar products I I have tried. I would save the money and purchase a different root touch-up, like the powders that have a dauber or mini-brush and compact. There are also other brush-ons with a more liquid consistency and better coverage.alexis.h

I purchased Insert Color Here because my elementary age children wanted to dye their hair. I didn't want to use something that would be permanent or really damaging. One has dirty blonde hair and the other medium brown hair, so I wasn't sure how well it would work. The Amethyst Insert Color Here took to their hair very well. My dirty blonde son ended up with a very bright almost "anime" purple hair. My medium brown son came out with a plum color. Both looked really nice. Their hair after dyeing was soft, and there wasn't any awful odors while dyeing. The color faded quicker from my son's medium brown hair than the dirty blonde, but it still still lasted a month and half. My son's dirty blonde hair first faded into an interesting silver color which he also enjoyed, that lingered until about two-ish months out. Now! As much as I have high praises for this stuff, I also purchased the Ruby and Emerald and my kids want to try those colors. However, we are now 4 months since dyeing their hair and my tub still has a purple hue. Despite scrubbing, allowing super hot water to just sit (which lifted the color more than anything), bleach and other chemicals (not at the same time!). I love having blue hair so I was really excited to get my hands and hair on this. my only downside is that it does turn my natural honey coloured roots near black, and the scent isnt…amazing. (it is a bit chemically, in comparison to the "typical" semiperm colour super sweet smell) BUT the colour is absolutely beautiful and vibrant and multi dimensional! It does fade to a more greenish tint but that's fine with me. i mixed grumpy bear and royal sapphire and I love it! I’ve been wanting to dye my hair red for years but never followed through with it. But, when I came across this product, I thought “why not?”. I had a balayage prior to the pandemic so still had blonde in my hair & applying this color turned out amazing! It looked beautiful in all kinds of lighting too. I received so many compliments! I bought this on a whim thinking it wouldn't work on my hair, but it works so well! I have light brown hair (the hair colour that happens when you have rlly blonde hair as a kid and then it turns light brown when you are older) and this colour stuck to my hair so well! It was a darker pink that looked so good! I've washed my hair about 6 times now and there is still colour in my hair that is quite visible. I'd definitely recommend this dye over any of the other pink ones for people with darker hair! I've tried the other light colourista one and manic panic and this one is 1000000x better! Just beware if you use it, it will stay in your hair for quite some time!Anna
Does it say semi-permanent? Yes. But… it’s going to add pigment to the hair, therefore some colors will last longer than others… as most greens/blues, those will often last the longest and be harder to remove especially from blonder hair. Purple seems to be the quickest to be washed out and completely gone. The denim blue one definitely lasted the longest and faded into a light green and was only removed after I dyed my hair pink (color cancellation, people) I’ve used this product and most colors very often, it’s not damaging on my hair and my hair is very damaged from bleaching and using heat. I highly recommend this as it’s easy to apply, cheap and usually has great results.Abigail M
Fantastic application color for the hot pink. I was doing this as a test to see if pink was going to look nice with my skin tone before purchasing manic panic…. Color look amazing the first couple of washes. Now, I have half of my hair a rose gold pastel and have still just as vibrant as the initial application. I'm not sure what happened here as this is not something I have experienced before. I was planning on taking temporary with a grain of salt since hair dye is not a one size fits all. I did bleach my hair before application, but that was an all over bleach. All in all, it isn't bad but nowhere near what I expected nor is it uniform. Best to use if you have white blonde hair like I used to have. I am happy with this product. I have been a regular user for the past two years. I am 36 and have only a few areas where gray shows around my hairline. It’s not enough yet to go through the ordeal of coloring my entire hair, so I use this when I need for going out. Does the trick! I will say though that the ink will transfer on fabrics (like your pillow) so be careful not to mess with your hair after you spray it. Comes out easily when you wash your hair and doesn’t create buildup in your hair. It’s my lifesaver!
Believe it or not I was introduced to this product by my salon stylist. It works well to hide the grey until I have time to get to salon for color/highlights. In fact, I probably go too long between salon visits because this works so well. Need more after a wash but I don’t wash everyday so just need a little touch up on non-wash days. Looks natural and does what it intended to do.
I'm a natural redhead and as I get older my roots are white. Problem is, so is my scalp so I end up looking balding a week after I get my roots done. I tried using Joan Rivers Great Hair Day, but the powder got everywhere, sink, hands, brush, pillow. and it always looked suspect. My stylist suggested this and that's it- game over. The color is exact (how did that happen?) The spray is fine enough to cling to my fine hair, I can control the coverage by getting closer, lifting up sections of hair, focusing on the part, and even get close to the forehead without it looking weird. It smells nice, never shows up on clothing, linen or the sink. Washes out in the shower. And it gives a bit of a lift to my roots. Uh, I bought 6 cans just before the pandemic and was I glad. Now, between color touch ups- which is every three weeks, I can have great hair every day! Love this stuff.

I’m trying to grow out my highlights & “embrace the grey” but have a bit of fun with temporary colour while I do so. I bought this product after a lot of internet research. Did my patch test, this is a “natural” product, no ammonia, parabens etc so was hopeful. All ok & did a couple of strand tests too. Ready to go! PLEASE make sure you wear gloves, mask around your face, ears & neck with a barrier cream, rinse hair out over a sink or bath. DON’T shower it off over your body! You will look like a Smurf! I wanted to temporarily colour my hair for the start of the football (soccer) season. I left the blue on for about 2 and a half hours & the purple & pink for about an hour and a half. I wrapped my head in cling film in case it dripped, it’s a nice thick gel, so I don’t think it would but better safe that sorry. It smells fruity so no stinky head while you wait. I loved the result! My hair felt soft & moisturised, still does. I knew the blue wouldn’t last as long, red tones grip better, so after 2 weeks & 13 double shampoo washes, the blue has almost gone but the pink & purple is going strong. I still get purple hands while showering but no skin transfer so all good. I forgot to take a before so the first photo is after the strand test but you can kind of see my highlighted, grey & mousey “before” hair. Second & third photos are a day after colouring. Fourth & fifth is to show how the pink & purple have washed out & the blue is almost gone after a lot of washes. If you want a longer lasting semi permanent colour, I would highly recommend this product! Love this product!! Used for over 10 yrs now. Use Vaseline around ears and edges of face to keep stains off skin. Nail polish remover will do the rest. I have black hair and it will only show on porous strands such as bleached or blonde – otherwise it has no where to go and will stain things as it comes off. What I love is that it DOES stain which means as it fades out you still have color stained hair until it fades to a more pastel color. Keeps from having to do all the time. I use gloves to apply liberally. Smells delicious! I then wrap in a cap (plastic bag will work, too) and let it stay on as long as I can- note that this method almost blends into my black hair until a first couple washes. Also note that I would lay a towel over my pillow until the first couple washes. Also, note that I use a special towel for drying bc color will come off the wet hair. Also note that I don't wear white or swim until after the first couple of washes. It's a stronger look than a salon color and lasts a VERY long time. So, if you want a fun color for the weekend, choose something else as it really is semi-permanent and doesn't just wash away from bleached or blonde hair. Hope this helps!CrazyHair Bae
I’ve been using Punky Colors since they were originally called ‘Jerome Russell Punky Colours’. I am a professional hairstylist and I love these non-pro colors for solid colors. Cherry on Top is the perfect bright warm red. It’s bright, it’s true to shade, and there isn’t a hint of cold undertone. That’s why I prefer to use Cherry On Top paired up with the diluting clear to create my pastel pinks in warmer colors than the actual Pink Flamingo or Pastel line. It lasts longer and looks like bubblegum. Yes, this color bleeds. A lot. It is a high concentrate of pigment which helps it last longer on bleached hair and coat non-bleached hair. My suggestion to a lot of you is to get a black towel and black pillowcase so you won’t ruin anything! Always wear gloves. And just rinse it the best you can before adding any shampoo. Shampoo is what makes the color spread all over the tub and stain it. Even if you do stain the tub, most porcelain tubs it will wear off. Porous plastic tubs you can get the foaming bleach cleaning spray from any store, spray it and let it set a while, it’ll lessen the red stains. Good luck!Cotton candy Cherry

My kids really enjoyed experimenting with the fun colors. They all have medium brown hair so there are some colors that don't really show up very well, but the ones that do are very vibrant. The hair/chalk do need to be pretty wet for application but it was easy enough for my 4 year old to do it herself. My son and I both used this on our hair, and I have mixed feelings. I used the "pinkish" piece, and he chose the "purplish" color. We both have dirty blonde hair. The color DOES show up, but for some reason it was brightest at the crown of our heads only. Neither of us could get it to show up much after the first inch or two from our roots.
