Smooth again is amazing for thick, frizzy, curly or just unruly hair. It smells amazing and isn't crazy heavy. When doing blowouts I love to layer smooth again and distribute it through the hair really well them top it with anti gravity and holy crap you will have a voluminous, bouncy shiny smooth blowout that lasts 😍. This is the best hair product I've ever used for my flat, thin and straight hair! It gives it an incredible texture and volume, and seriously looks like I've got double the amount of hair. I had been looking for a new hair shine spray. I have medium/dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and my hair is very dry and damaged from using heat and dying/bleaching in the past. I’ve had my hair colored in just about every color you could think of so my hair is very damaged. It’s getting way better now but a few months ago it was completely unmanageable. I like using shine sprays because they make your hair so much healthier and glossy looking. My current shine spray is Garnier Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray. It was only 7 dollars, has great ingredients, and gives amazing shine without looking or feeling greasy. I had been thinking about getting this matrix shine spray for awhile. Ulta was having a huge sale on matrix products so I used that opportunity to pick this up. It was only 10 dollars so I got it half off. I usually LOVE matrix products, and even though they’re pricey they tend to be worth it especially when you have more problematic hair. This was a disappointment. First of all the smell is terrible. Usually their products smell great but this literally smells like those lemon hand wipes you get in little single packets. It’s not unbearable but definitely not a good smell especially for a hair product. Nobody wants their hair to smell like lemon scented cleaning supplies. Good thing the smell doesn’t last because it’s not a good one for a hair product. Now, I could put that behind me if the product worked well but it didn’t. It literally didn’t add any shine or gloss to the hair. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy or sticky on the hair, but it was basically like it did nothing. Since I got this half off I wasn’t TOO mad but still disappointed. I’ve tried a lot of matrix products and this was the first one that had been disappointing. Definitely don’t recommend. I got a haircut from my sister-in-law today and when she was cutting my flat, lifeless bangs she pulled this stuff out. Spritzed it on, used a round brush to dry my bangs back out and boom, instant lift. Um, it's still got lift almost 9 hours later! I have run my hands through my hair too many times to count, pulled it down flat and then ran my hands back through it, still had lift! This stuff is amazing – please never stop stocking! It gives great texture and volume and a little goes a long way. The formula is genius – liquid that turns into a powder. Before this, my beloved texturising spray was Loreal Wildstylers Next Day Hair – but they discontinued which broke my heart. I searched high and low until I found this – and I think its actually better. Five stars is NOT enough for this!!! I absolutely LOVE it. It makes my baby fine hair full of volume and so very soft! Not sticky at all. Price was very reasonable as well. I feel this will last me a good long while. I didn't have to use much at all. I didn't even have to use my hair dryer to style my hair. First time using got2b hair spray and I am quite happy with it! First, the ingredients seem to be better for your hair. If you regularly use hair products, you know it can really dry out and even damage your hair. When applied, its really light and your hair has a texture to it, which I am guessing thats where the texturing of this product comes in. It also has a really nice, light scent to it. As far as holding hair in place, it did well for all my crazy short hair that keeps falling out of my high bun. I have a long straight hair that doesnt hold curls very well. When I saw That this product was released I was extremely excited. Not only is it extremely affordable, it doesnt have residue or stickiness. It does smell nice however I wish that they would refrain from using fragrance in their products but since it is formulated without parabens or sulfates I guess I will call that a small win. After doing a light curl throughout my hair I sprayed this in afterwards to hold the loose curls and give my finishing look a beachy wave. I absolutely love this salt spray! The smell is amazing and reminds me of the beach. It gives me the perfect textured beach waves without any frizz or greasy looking strands. I use it on my dry hair to add some volume and I use it when I get out of the shower for defining curls with a wonderful scent. It works amazingly and I've never found another product that compares even remotely. My natural hair is curly, kinky, dry, and frizzy that goes down to my lower back for comparison. I have used Kenra hairsprays for 30+ years and the salons that I have frequented during that time have always carried this line because it works! I especially like the variety of sprays designed for all hair types AND needs. When I worked, I would use a firmer hold formula for my fine hair, but started to use their Medium Perfect hold after retirement because it has a lighter hold, but still enough hold to give body to my hair. In addition, it does not leave a sticky residue, maintains your natural shine, and does not have an annoying scent that would cause me to have any allergic reaction to any of their products. To whom it may concern: After using Umberto's regular hold hairspray for about 10 years, I was forced to find a new product when they Umberto discontinued their spray last year. After lots of looking and research I landed on Kenra's Artformation hairspray and initially was very pleased. Artformation provided good hold while not making my hair sticky or plastered-looking. Unfortunately, more often than not, I can't actually get the Artformation out of the can to actually use it. The Artformation spray can is fundamentally flawed. In the past year I have purchased 5-6 Artformation spray cans and have not been able to fully use any of them. The spray nozzle has ceased to spray on everyone of these cans, usually with more than half a can of hairspray left. I was so fed up with this that I took a can back to Ulta last week that had stopped working after about 10 uses. The salesperson at Ulta told me she uses the same Kenra spray and has the same problem. She kindly exchanged my hairspray for another can of Ulta Artformation that has stopped spraying after 2 uses. I have tried all the tricks to get the sprayer working again…running it under hot water, soaking it in hot water, rinsing the nozzle after each use, etc. While this does work sometimes, the nozzle will still eventually cease to spray at all. Not to mention, I don't want to have to soak my hairspray every time I want to use it. Kenra you have a great product. I suggest you change your nozzle so people can actually use it. I will be returning this new can to Ulta again and asking them to help me find another brand that works like your Artformation with a better nozzle. If you ever change your spray nozzle, I will definitely be back. But until then, I'm forced to find another product. Thank you for your time.I love pretty things

My hair shines and looks very natural. This last can that I purchased smells like burnt rubber. I have communicated this to Kenra but they don't s to m to care. I absolutely love this hair spray! It gives a strong, all day long hold, without leaving my hair "crunchy" and stiff. The bottle is easy to use aerosol can and is attractive with it's gold/teal colors. It is the "air spray" instead of the pump bottle, so easier to use if you have arthritic hands. It's a good sized can at 8 oz. and because of it's strong hold, you don't have to use as much as other brands, so it lasts even longer. I work long days, 10 to 12 hr shifts each day. My morning starts at 4 am and I can do my hair, spray it, and at 7pm, it still looks great for a dinner out, no touch ups needed. It's long lasting hold and helps create volume. No flat hair here! The smell is amazing and almost smells as good as my perfume. I love that it makes my hair look AND smell great! Highly recommend this hair spray. Almost all of the bad reviews are people complaining about this product making their hair wet and greasy. As with ANY texture spray, you should use it sparingly. I don't like how wet and thick this sprays out either, but I'm assuming it has something to do with the sugar, or bamboo, and cannot be avoided. Anyway, as with ANY hair product, you should be spraying from at least a foot and a half away. Never put any hair product right next to your hair and then spray. Spray disperses the farther from the bottle you get, so if you're spraying close to your hair you are getting a full on, concentrated squirt of product. Quickly push down on the sprayer and let go to get one section of hair, then move on to another section. Less is more, with any hair product. As far as how it performs when used correctly, it works great! It does not make your hair dry like a lot of other texture sprays (ahem, OGX Aspen Texture Spray, ahem). This was out of stock for awhile and I had to ration it lol. I tried others but none compares! Smell takes you on vacation but isn’t offensive when used for a long time. !Right off the bat I dampened my hair and tried it on my crown, but I have waist length hair so it DID provide volume, but not as extreme due to the weight of the hair. The scent is SO NICE, it smells like grapefruit. I tried dampening the ends of my hair and twisting them like in the TIGI promotional videos, and it dried to a beach curl – but as my hair is already slightly wavy it didn't really accentuate the curl. I'll continue using this for day 2 or 3 hair in lieu of dry shampoo, but in terms of styling it makes my hair too crispy. I'd recommend it for people with thinner hair.nancy.w
This is a winner for me. Beautiful smell as Tigi always seem to get down to a T the product itself is amazing. I used on wet hair as advised on the bottle then let my hair air dry after doing a few scrunches, twists what not it gave me that summer, beach wave look. I enjoyed trying this product and I had really high hopes as it aims to provide texture without being overly drying. It has a light floral scent to it which is quite nice in my opinion and definitely not too overwhelming. Unfortunately I don't think the product worked as it intended to on my hair. I have very long, straight and thick hair so while this product did add a small amount of texture making it a bit easier to style, it didn't really do much more for me. My hair just fell a bit flat as it always does. I also found my hair feeling a bit dry and dehydrated after using it which is normal with sea salt sprays I suppose. I think this product would be great for someone with naturally wavy hair to really get those gorgeous beach style waves and I think it's a great price for the amount of product you get as you don't need a lot for it to do its job.alexandra.m

I used to buy Joico #9 hairspray in bulk. I have used it for years. It had great hold, was not sticky and held up in the humidity and rain. The reformulation is terrible! Absolutely zero hold and smells terrible. So disappointed. Why change something that worked so well?!Disappointed
I have been using this faithfully for years now. I always spray the tresemme keratin smooth protectant into hair before blow drying, but if I choose to use a straightener, curling iron, waver, etc. afterwards, I don't trust that my hair is still adequately protected against that heat. I literally went through over $100 worth of products before finding a thermal protectant that I am able to use on dry hair without it making my hair wet again, weighing it down, or leaving it looking oily and unwashed and when I found this.. It was like hitting the jackpot! I have, thin fine hair and in able to spray this into blow dried hair without it wetting my hair and ruining the shape and volume I got through blow drying. I seperate my hair into sections, and I spray this throughout each section right before curling, straightening, etc. I wait 30 seconds and brush it through from roots to end just to make sure all my hair is protected.. It pretty much flash dries so when I brush it through, my hair is still completely dry. You might feel the slightest bit of stickiness but that disappears right when you brush it or after you take your hot tool to it. That slight stickiness is beneficial because it's what gives this protectant a slight to medium hold. I'm able to curl my hair with this in my hair and my hair is never heat damaged, never weighed down, though it's very thin and fine, and as hard as it used to be to get my hair to hold a curl.. Since using this, I haven't had that problem. It gives enough hold without making hair crunchy… I'm easily able to run my fingers through and seperate curls, waves without any difficulty or having the curl fall out. I still need to mist some texturizer/hairspray to finish everything off but only a fraction of what is need without this. Because not only does it do an amazing job of protecting hair and adding gold.. It also gives hair some texture and makes hair look very shiny after use of heat tools. I won't even think about trying a different heat protectant for dry hair. Yes, the smell is not the most pleasant but it doesn't linger in your hair eithermalinda.s

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]I have naturally wavy hair, not fully on curly, but always looking for something new to try as I prefer to embrace the waves vs straightening my hair. In trying this product, I did a side-by-side comparison with my current product (a different brand of mousse). I applied the Curl Defining Cream on one side of my head, and my everyday mousse on the rest of my hair. I scrunched and let them both air dry. The Curl Defining Cream has a very strong scent, too much for my liking, though Im scent sensitive, so take that for what you will. I thought the smell might dissipate as my hair dried. It did not. Im actually tempted to go rinse that section of hair out to help tame the scent. Outside of the scent, its a decent product. My hair didnt hold as much wave as it did with the mousse, but it did dry soft, and not tangible with less frizz than if I used no product at all. While there is less wave than I prefer, the waves look soft and pretty, not some weirdness that sometimes happens where the whole side of my head wants to do the same thing vs. having some separation. Im guessing thats the defining aspect. Overall a decent product, and may work even better on actually curly hair. Just beware the fragrance if you are scent sensitive at all.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]I was nervous when using this the first time. There arent any instructions on how much to use so you basically have to figure it out as you go. I used a generous amount since this is a cream, and I havent had as much success with curl creams in the past. Anyway, I lightly towel-dried my hair and then applied from roots to tips, scrunched my hair (to coax the curls) and let it work its magic. Halfway through drying, I noticed some pieces were frizzing up, so I applied a tad more of the Ultra Light Curl Defining Cream along with a bit of water. The next day I woke up to defined voluminous shiny curls. They were a bit stiff but quickly softened with just a bit of raking my hands through my hair. I was excited at first. The following day, my curls looked limp and dry. There was no way I was applying more of this cream ("to refresh" per the instructions), as my hair felt heavily weighed down with the curl cream already. For reference I have fine, curly, frizzy hair. I will say, the curl cream smells great and performed better than other curl creams Ive used in the past. I think next time, I will try using a bit of this curl cream, and then applying my go-to mousse because I LOVE that this curl cream doesnt contain any silicones or alcohol (so hard to find that in hair products these days!). My hair is difficult, so it may work better on others as a stand-alone cream.
While I do wish there were an unscented version of this, (please please please Kristin Ess!), I L O V E this stuff and pray to the Holy Squirrels they never stop making it. I buy 2-3 bottle at a time out of sheer terror it will be discontinued. I don't know how this works so well, but it tames frizzy hair, separates curls a bit and adds volume but not too much. I have long, fairly thin, fine hair that has natural wave and frizzes if air-dried. After I curl it with a curling iron into loose curls, I turn my head upside down and lightly spray all over, then flip up and lightly spray the top to calm any fly-aways. ADORE this stuff! p.s. Again, please make unscented, dear Kristin! If fragrance bothers you, you may hate this, but I don't mind the scent. I rather like it, but it's strong.Sabrina

I'm not the best at styling my own hair, I'm new to trying different styles, but I did enjoy this. I tend to splurge on the expensive brands as someone that firmly believes you get what you pay for. I could have done with a cheaper version for the sake my my budget (ladies don't we all make these mistakes lol) however I don't regret my purchase. So far I've used this on straightened hair and it adds a clean/messy look that I enjoy. Of course most products adding texture or volume will feel slightly sticky, but once this dries it has a nice feel and isn't heavy. This is pretty good but it leaves my hair weighed down. I have fine hair and most texturizing sprays leave my hair weighed down. It has a nice smell and does texturize though – somit May work better on thicker hair. I don’t use it much but it’s there if I want to use it on a whim 🙂laura.l
