Best Texturizing Spray For Fine Hair (2024 Update)

I had a rather large purchase last time with Moroccanoil and this was included as a gift in a mini set. This, the perfect defense and a mini oil. And LET ME TELL YOU… SIS…. you and I BOTH need the big bottles of it allll!!! I am sooooo obsessed with this stuff! I have only been using this for about a month or two now and wowwwww. I loveeeee the way my hair transforms again and again every time they send me free products and “hook me.” Lol. They definitely know that their products are the bomb diggity so be careful because you will be as hooked as I am and always buying more and more! It’s like an addiction for me now! I even went as far as to get my stylist to throw me in some very fun flippy swooshy layers because this stuff makes them soooo fun!! I am loving my hair more and more everyday thanks to Moroccanoil!!! Throw away any other products you “try” or save your money on things that you are “thinking of trying” and just do yourself a favor and get alllllll of the Moroccanoil products! I have 2B/C waves and decided to give myself a 70s inspired cut with bangs and lots of razored pieces around the face. I had been using curl mousse and a light hold gel, but they're too heavy on my now whispy curls. Mousse paired with a salt-free curl spray was working well, but I looking for more lift, grit, and texture. Enter Dry Texture Spray! I use it on my crown, roots, bangs, and front pieces when 90% dry. I can then tousle and mold pieces with my fingers to finish off my look. I was hesitant that this would perform more like a hairspray or a dry shampoo (either too sticky or too sleek), but nope! I have very long, thick, wavy hair and LOVE this product. This texture spray is like if a dry shampoo and a hairspray had a baby. It adds…well, texture to my hair after styling and plump up my waves, while helping them last all day. Gives good volume, doesn't leave any white cast in my dark hair and also doesn't make my hair feel weighed down. There is a fairly strong fragrance, some people love it some people hate it, I don't really have a strong opinion one way or another. It isn't overwhelming. I really like R+Co's volumizing mousse so I was excited to try this for my hair. Unfortunately it did absolutely nothing. It's ironic it has balloon in the name because it felt like I was just basically blowing air onto my hair. I guess the one good thing is it didn't weigh my hair down either. I've got volume for days (stylist's words, not mine). But after leave-in conditioner, heat protectorant, and hydrating hair oil, my hair feels heavy and lays a bit flat (I have short hair). I really dont like the feel or smell of hairspray, but I decided to give this stuff a try. Head/hair flip upside-down, a bit of spray at the crown of my head, and I'm pleased to say I've got the volume I like without traditional or typical hairspray. Anytime throught the day that I feel like I need to, I do a quick shake of the hair, and some volume comes back. Verb Dry Texture Spray is a good product. I purchased this on a whim along with my regular Verb Dry Shampoo, which I love, love, love! I just turned 60 so everything is changing…lol. My hair is thinning, I'm trying to rock my silver strands but it's a totally different texture now – wavy, thin, flat, not very shiny. So I thought I'd try this to see of I could get some volume. I'm a child of the 70's – Disco & Rock n Roll hair is still my thing; just my updated version for 2022. Well this stuff works but be ever so light on the spray nozzle …cause if you spray too much then you are taken to the wayback lol think 60's beehive!!! That's why I took off one star. I have been looking around for a replacement since Living Proof’s PhD body builder spray got discontinued and this works even better. Excellent voume and texture that lasts until you wash it out. There is some mild whitening but I lift sections and spray underneath so it can’t be seen on the surface. Zero stiffness or stickiness if used as directed. Works 100% better than the Bumble and Bumble equivalent which has next to no hold, doesn’t make a dramatic difference, requires way more product and only lasts an hour or two. The price point is great. Please never discontinue and mess with this product!!fillmore

This is my first time trying Verb and I am happy to report I love this hair plumping product! I've tried a bunch of different hair volumizing products. My biggest complaints are that many of them have a strong smell, leave a grimy feel on your roots or they just don't work. I've even found some I really like but the smell gives me a headache. Not Verb!! There is almost no discernable smell and it works fabulously! I went for light volume today, nothing over the top. I pumped a little Verb Volume Texture Powder on the underside of my roots and zuzzed it in. Then added Verb's Volume Dry Texture Spray to the rest of my hair. I finished with an Aquage's detailing cream just to smooth my flyaways a bit. I'm set on repurchasing this fantastic hair duo! Great product! I've been looking for a good texturizing spray for when I style my hair in light waves or loose curls, and I have been buying more that were like hair sprays. The difference with this one by Fekkai is really how it doesn't weigh down the hair or leaves any sticky feeling. The scent is nice and light, you do need to use a bit of the product but it really helps to give my hair more body. This spray came undetected under my radar, I had no idea Fekkai was releasing this, and I'm not really a user of Fekkai products, I've heard good things about the brand and range of products but it's often pricey. I would totally buy this spray again, it's just one of those simple go-to products you need for your styling purposes, I also love that it's vegan, gluten free and also sustainable. The packaging is simple and I love the light yellow bottle color, it's really cute and simple. Influenster is always sending out the best stuff!!!! Fekkai full blown hair texturizing spray! I was super excited to try this! My hair absolutely won't hold a style for anything. This spray has helped with working the style but unfortunately I didn't feel like it helped it hold. It did create some volume, and helped make a good basis to build volume on. I was super excited that it didn't make my hair look greasy or dirty! That was a huge score, because it is rare that I find a product that doesn't make me want to wash my hair within the hour. I am a die-hard fan of this—have been using it for 4 years on my fine hair after my stylist recommended and buy 2 bottles at a time so I never run out. I have never had more volume or sexier hair, both when my hair was shorter just above my shoulders and as long as my bra line. It smells fabulous- like amber coconut but isn’t scented enough to mask whatever perfume/oils you might like to wear. I use it after blow drying, air drying, before a night out, or on day 2 hair! I really love Ouai fragrances, so I knew I would be a fan of this as soon as I popped it in my basket. But the size is just SO small, it's really not great value for money and after around a month (of not really using it at all), the bottle is almost empty. It does have nice effect on your hair, it really is very texturising. However, the hold isn't the best. I will often use this and then wave a quick whiff of another hairspray on top. This is a good texturizing hair spray. Personally I like how it smells and I feel like it’s 50/50 based on reviews who like the scent or dislike it. i've suffered with fine, thin hair my entire life. i'm 54 years old and when I say i've tried EVERY product imaginable to give my hair volume, believe me, I have. From high end to over the counter, nothing has worked…until this. i've only used it once, but from that experience alone, I can honestly say, I will use this product for the rest of my life. Not only did my hair look awesome with lift at the crown area but it just felt different. Even though I had hairspray on also, it just felt lighter, kind of hard to describe. With the hairspray, my hair didn't feel glued to my head. Please, please never stop making this and please never change the formula to try and save a few pennies. That would be so wrong. Y'all, I can't even begin to explain the magic that is within the Amika hair products. My hair went from blah, dry, frizzy, bronze blonde strikes and no volume toooooo a whole knew transformation. Since using Amika products My hair has been, bouncy with shine. My blonde has been so bright and beautiful, like it was the day I walked out of the hair salon when getting the color added. The volume product is out of this world amazing. It does not leave residue nor gives my hair a grissy shine like most products that I have used. A few sprays and bam, I go from flat as a board to volume out of this world. The hairspray works wonders but I must admit the smell is AWEFUL. I have really fine, flat hair so naturally, I love products that gives my hair more volume. This is a great volume and texture spray because it's lightweight and gives volume without making my hair feel all stiff or sticky. It doesn't make my hair all frizzy or dry either. The product claims to enhance shine and hydration, which I can't really see but perhaps that is with daily use or something. I only use it when I go out and actually do my hair. I honestly think the volume products from living proof is better quality but I like the prices of Amika products better. ($25 for this 5.3 oz can). Wax Blast 10 is the BEST hairspray I’ve ever used. It holds my hairstyle without weighing it down. I use it to make finishing adjustments to my hairstyle and sometimes spray and work it into my hair for body and staying power when using flat iron or curling iron. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling “dirty” or as though I need to start all over with a fresh shampooing! I can’t say enough about the versatility and quality of this product. I love Redken hair products! This stuff is so so great! It tops of any hairstyle with grace!! It keeps it in place all day (or night) without looking like I've got a bunch of product in it, it does show some, but it's like the perfect amount of show. It smells like hair spray… But the good stuff? I guess some may not like it, others might! It's not overwhelming. I LOVEEEE the way it comes out of the can. It distributes evenly and goes where you aim. You don't need to much to get a great finishing hold and look to your hair. Which is great because it can be spendy. My hair is very fine and thin. I wear it short in an updo or spiked. It gives great texture and holds wells. However, I prefer a product that can be reworked without wetting my head down. This leaves my hair in a hair sprayed stiff hold. Although, it doesn't appear stiff. The scent is rather amazing. Only used it once so far. This product has saved my thin, flat hair. I use multiple Kenra products which include the blow dry mist thermal mist, hair spray, thickening shampoo and conditioner, hair thickening glaze, root lifter spray and air dry creme. I love all of their products to be honest and they all have given my natural and oily hair life again. If I was stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, it would be the dry texture spray. This spray is light, non sticky, leaves your hair touchable. I have never received compliments on my hair before, but thanks to Kenra, now I do. I haven't tried one Kenra product I do not like. 10/10 would recommend the entire collection.poshirex.z

Love the product itself, hate the canister! When it sprays out it's great! Constantly washing out the nozzle, didn't help much. I could tell there was product left, but canister was spent. Seems to happen often with other Kenra products, I throw away a good amount of product due to can not working well. I will switch back to VERB texture spray.Sranderson

My stylist recommended this hair spray 20 years ago, and I've never switched since then. It lasts forever – one small bottle lasts me almost a year for my short hair! It doesn't leave a sticky residue, and I don't need to use clarifying shampoo. It's becoming harder to find in my community, though. Please don't stop making it!!redtopgirl

This is a great gel spray, which are hard to find these days. It's not very expensive and a little goes a long way. It definitely weighs my wavy hair down a bit, but does separate my curls and fights frizz. I use it after I've added a little gel or cream and it works best that way for my hair. I have used this hairspray for at least 25 years! It is THE best not only for finishing touch. I use for volume and working with my hair too. Just a couple pumps will do in my medium length hair. Then it brushes right out at night for soft hair again. I use the next day without having to rewash hair. Love it! But I can’t find it anywhere anymore! I don’t understand why!! One word- Volume! I love big hair with a “lived in” bed head – just woke up sorta look this product is a game changer! I was gifted this product from Color Wow. I have thin straight hair so volume is elusive for me. My hair is also color treated and I notice other volume and or texture sprays can dull my color. This product gives me a volume boost with just a finger tussle that doesn't dull my color and makes me feel like there is more body in my hair. I really like that it isn't sticky because my hair gets tangled easily. It has a good hold but does feel a bit like hairspray when it dries. I had been looking for a new hair shine spray. I have medium/dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and my hair is very dry and damaged from using heat and dying/bleaching in the past. I’ve had my hair colored in just about every color you could think of so my hair is very damaged. It’s getting way better now but a few months ago it was completely unmanageable. I like using shine sprays because they make your hair so much healthier and glossy looking. My current shine spray is Garnier Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray. It was only 7 dollars, has great ingredients, and gives amazing shine without looking or feeling greasy. I had been thinking about getting this matrix shine spray for awhile. Ulta was having a huge sale on matrix products so I used that opportunity to pick this up. It was only 10 dollars so I got it half off. I usually LOVE matrix products, and even though they’re pricey they tend to be worth it especially when you have more problematic hair. This was a disappointment. First of all the smell is terrible. Usually their products smell great but this literally smells like those lemon hand wipes you get in little single packets. It’s not unbearable but definitely not a good smell especially for a hair product. Nobody wants their hair to smell like lemon scented cleaning supplies. Good thing the smell doesn’t last because it’s not a good one for a hair product. Now, I could put that behind me if the product worked well but it didn’t. It literally didn’t add any shine or gloss to the hair. It didn’t feel heavy or greasy or sticky on the hair, but it was basically like it did nothing. Since I got this half off I wasn’t TOO mad but still disappointed. I’ve tried a lot of matrix products and this was the first one that had been disappointing. Definitely don’t recommend. I hesitated to buy given the mixed reviews but have had great results. Worked much like a good mousse but easier to apply and less residue. My hair type is thick (as in a lot of hair) but fine (as in the texture is straight and silky) so it pretty much lays against my head. With the product applied before blow styling, I get crazy volume for a couple days. Love that washing my hair daily isn't mandatory due to product build-up/residue.LisaSTL

Absolutely love this and all kevin products. So I am a stylist and I do work with his products but I'm not going to give an honest review. Smooth again is amazing for thick, frizzy, curly or just unruly hair. It smells amazing and isn't crazy heavy. When doing blowouts I love to layer smooth again and distribute it through the hair really well them top it with anti gravity and holy crap you will have a voluminous, bouncy shiny smooth blowout that lasts 😍. Yes the products are pricey but it's literally skin care for your hair amd they last forever!emilly.t

This is the best hair product I've ever used for my flat, thin and straight hair! It gives it an incredible texture and volume, and seriously looks like I've got double the amount of hair. And on top of creating this volume and texture, it keeps my hair looking shiny and natural (and smelling divine!) as opposed to so many "beach style" products that just make it look like dull cardboard. I have tried dozens different products of this type but none compares to this one. The first couple of times I put a bit too much product and it felt too heavy, but even when you use too much, I find that just brushing your hair makes it ok. I love this product! The smell is very light so if you have trouble with strong smells giving you migraines/making you sick, you shouldn’t have to worry about this product. I have coarse, low-medium porosity hair, medium to high density, and my curl pattern ranges from a 2A up to 3A in some spots. I’ve been able to use this as a single styler and have been getting amazing results. It provides great definition, hold, and volume. When I use this, my hair can last for several days. I think the best part of this product is that I can use a lot of it but it doesn’t cause build up or make my hair feel like it has product in it. It’s not sticky at all. It’s a gel texture that spreads very easily and doesn’t cause my hair to dry out when I apply it. I’ve been applying on wet hair, scrunching, and diffusing. This is my favorite product of all time from Grove! The spray smells heavenly, light and fresh. My hair is naturally slightly wavy, so it either needs to be straightened or curled. I had high hopes for this product, but I don't like the scent which reminds me of the suntan lotions I can't stand. The day I tried to use it, I ended up pulling my hair back so that it wouldn't disturb me. Too bad. My son doesn't like it either, and we both use salt spray texturizers from other companies. I couldn't say if the product works in terms of adding texture. It's strange. I wish companies would leave scent as a separate component. Obviously I have other products with odors. I don't want to have a dozen scents emanating from my face lotion, eye lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand cream, detangler, texturizer, serum, lip balm and goodness knows what else. I really like the fragrance of this, it is also pretty good at adding texture to flat hair. I don't care for the feel of it in my hair after a few hours. I bought this spray with 2 other more expensive texturizing sprays, one from my favorite Alterna line, but those had over top scents that wouldn't go away. This spray is amazing for fine, straight hair. I have lots of layers and this just makes them have body and separation. I can't say enough good things about this product.
