I at least had 3 years of dirt on my grout…When I finally noticed that my grout was now black and not white…I first tried the lemon and baking soda remedy…which seem to do okay but alot of work for a kitchen floor then I searched at home depot and found this grout cleaner. I tried it and did exactly what the directions said after about 1 hour of air drying I came back to scrub the grout with a grout scrubber which I also got at home depot and my grout went from black to white! Not gonna lie. Bought this solely off of what I saw online. It did lighten a bit more as it dried, but I found it to be not as fantastic as I was led to believe. Plus it is a super harsh chemical. If you have permanent stains on white grout, I would definitely give it a try, but I have found that some spots have taken 2-3 trys to get them out.

Some have commented saying its good, others saying its poor. Im in between. It shifts the light stains but fails on the heavy ones. I found that it needs to be applied a couple of times, left for 15 minutes then scrubbed with a hard bristled brush for the best effect even on the light stains. This didnt work on heavy ones even with the extra use of a steam generator so it was out with the multi tool and a grout removal blade for the stubborn bits.steveeverit-0
With some trepidation I used the cleaner, first on some brown (iron?) stains on the wall above the bath where the shower sprays,, and then on similar stains in the shower cubicle. I worked the cleaner in thoroughly using the suggested 1:4 mix. I wasn't sure that it was working so I followed this up with a further cleaning with a soft brush using a slightly stronger mixture. I have spent so much money on grout cleaners. Most of them do not work. This product, it does! I tried this product in the utility room and adjoining bathroom used to enter from outdoors. It worked wonderfully on the vinyl tiles on the floor. Road tar often gets tracked in and is nearly impossible to get off. I let it soak a bit then scrubbed with the machine and presto- gone. Also used the solution with a hand brush on the bathroom tile counter. The yellowed grout is sparkling again. I'd recommend this product instead of one of the more harsh products on the market.Joyce2694
I used the Hoover Renewal Tile and Grout cleaner to clean the tile flooring in our foyer. I have been on the hunt for a good grout cleaner and this one is excellent – especially considering some of my stains are old. On more stubborn stains I found a small brush helped as they suggested in the instructions. I thought letting the product sit longer would help more, but it just dries up and doesn''t make much difference. Purchased this product as an update to an original FloorMate, model # H2800, that I've had for many, many years. Have much more floor to wash now and am much older. Wanted the rotating spin-scrub brushes and the much larger wash solution tank which are an improvement over the original model. Am disappointed. The old FloorMate out-performs this newer model in the wet vacuum mode, by far, plus the newer model leaks significantly more wash solution than the older model when stationary. The tank is properly seated so that is not the problem. Thought for sure that Hoover would've gotten a handle on this issue on updated models. While the FloorMate remains a great concept, the performance of this new model is not acceptable to me. Will resort to using my original FloorMate and resign myself to filling the wash solution tank 8-10 times as opposed to 3 times but the flooring will be almost instantly dry. Will 'gift' my sister-in-law with this new model so she can wash her back porch floor with ease as she does not require the same level of almost instant dryness that I prefer.Reenie
This is my 4th floor mate, my last one the brush would not stay attached, This one I'm having a problem with the clear cover staying on. But all in all this is a good concept for cleaning and then rinsing the floor. I wash my floor and then suck up the water, then put clean water in the tank and re rinse the floor. I have 2 old doxie who pee, and this machine really helps with the clean up. I also use it on the rubber mats at my back door during the winter and rainy season. Until summer when I can take my mates outside for a go pressure washing. The company just needs to look at a better design for the brush and now the clear cover.LINDA
I bought this specifically to clean my laminate floors after a basement remodel that left a layer of Sheetrock dust is n the textured laminate. We scrubbed, mopped and everything else to try and clean the laminate, but couldn't get this layer of dirt off the floors. Bought this vac to try since we'd already tried everything else. Mixed the cleaner with a cap full of vinegar and tried an area. Couldn't believe the dirt I emptied out of the container after one pass. After this we decided to move all the furniture and do one whole room. Not only did it get all the dirt out of the distressed floors, it scrubbed the laminate back to looking new. We'll to say the least we ended up doing every room in the house because the dust had come up through all the vents. The heavy traffic areas we did twice and still were able to pull additional dirt off the floors. I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research before buying and the main reason I decided on this one was because of the rotating brushes. They scrub the floors in both directions and suck up the water when pulling it back. I live this vac and have also used on my tile floors. It does not clean the grout, but I wouldn't expect it to, but does an amazing job on the tile. I will be making another quick pass to n all the floors again just to see how much additional dirt I can get off. Great purchase, don't be scared by the other reviews. The vac will leak a little when water is in the cleaning container and you leave it in one spot, so if storing with water in the tank, our a towel under it.Doug

This product is amazing. I have a very challenging tile floor with grout that is 1/2 inch and has grout throughout the surface of the tile. I had embedded dirt in all the little crevases and the 1/2 grout lines were looking very dingy. I like this very much. It has a nice, clean scent and seems to clean very well. I have natural slate and travertine floors and it leaves them clean and beautiful looking. I appreciate that it doesn't require rinsing, although I usually do a rinse mop because I am paranoid about soapy residue on the carpeted areas of my home.

Recently we ran out of the Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner and happened to get the new and improved version. Don't waste your money! It streaks and leaves a sticky film and the With the new and improved formula, the floor is no longer shiny. It is now dull and shows prints. The old stuff worked great! With the new and improved formula you are to use a damp mop which gets the floor too wet no matter how much you wring out the Bona microfiber mop, plus it still leaves the floor dull, streaked and sticky. I bought this cleaner to clean my tile floors because my understanding is that it’s a neutral cleaner. When the professional floor cleaning company came out to clean them, he showed me a crazy amount of film he had to work to get up. This is the only cleaner I use. What should have only taken the company a couple hours now will take the entire day. And I have to spend extra money to have the film removed. I bought this to remove the White haze (efflorescence) from my Paving Stone. This does work, but I am giving this a 1 Star due to :- (1) the ridiculous price for only 946ml (2) zero instructions on how to use (ie. whether to dilute, use full strength, use plastic container, etc).Manjit
All the grout was a dark brown in the house we just moved into. My husband thought that was just the colour they picked but I knew better… Diluted this 50:50 in a spray bottle and went to work with my little scrub brush. Now the grout in our entryway, laundry/mud room, bathrooms, and the kitchen is a beautiful almond colour. Like new. The only place it struggled was where there was some mildew by the shower in one bathroom. For that, I cleaned it and then sprayed some bleach and let it sit for 5 mins. I still give it 5 *s.Jan18
