This is the best straightener that I have ever owned. It heats up super fast and you don't get that pulling/ripping sound that you get with other straighteners. Bought as a gift in 2017. It worked well on thick, wavy, long hair. I bought it because I needed to find a straightener that could handle a lot of hair at once while not being awkward and bulky. I give it a 3 because when using it, it pulls at my hair. I don't get a smooth sleek finish like with other flat irons i have owned and used. I've used tourmaline and ceramic plated irons before purchasing this one and i thought the titanium plates would impress me but they don't. I feel it dries out my hair after use as well. I also don't like the location of the power button. While using the iron, i unintentionally turn it off, but don't realize it until the iron is no longer straightening my hair because it's not longer heated. But it does have a pretty fast warm up time which is impressive. And I do like the flat make of the iron, it helps to get super close to my roots and any shorter hairs that surround my face. I'll keep using it of course to figure out what I can do to make my use of it more effective. I've used it about 7 times since I've had it and it still hasn't won me over. Since my hair is thick, medium-coarse, and damaged from highlights and heat styling, I've only purchased higher-end brands, namely Chi and GHD. While those brands have been both a sacrifice to my budget and the health of my hair, I thought they were the best I could get due to their price and reputation. WRONG! This straightener is trendy. Gets super hot fast & does good for about a year. My mom used to own one of these back in it's bulky days. She had one & I didn't know they still made these but in a sleeker look. So I bought one did not even have one whole year & it stopped working. Just stopped. My hair is supppppper long so mostly it's up in a bun. That said it is rarely used and stored away properly so it shouldn't have broken. So I got another December would have been a year for this one. It still works but the hot plate popped out & won't go back in. Also, the spring on my moms broke. These are just not made to last. & I really wanted to love it:(Jessica

I have had this flat iron for 6 years and it's been nothing short of amazing! I've never had an issue with it and I have a nearly inhuman amount of 3A long curly hair on my head. I was telling my hair stylist how long I've had it the other day and she was shocked. I realized it was pretty unusual and probably deserved a review! It gets heavy use 1-2 times a week and then light use daily. Still heats up just as fast and the plates look good as new. I have owned CROC's for about 7 years now and have only needed to re purchased twice. This time around, the only normal flat iron CROC carries is the Titanium. I have had the Classic for 7 years and L O V E D it. I could swear the Classic was advertised as a ceramic iron, but I could be wrong. What ever is the difference with titanium, it's HORRIBLE. My hair now takes 20 plus minutes to iron as opposed to ~11. And once done, my hair like I just rolled out of bed and slept on it for hours. I section it off into smaller pieces then normal and it still does nothing. About a year ago, I cut a bunch of damaged hair off, and my hair has been so much healthier with the correct products. Using this straightener for the last month or so, my hair is absolutely FRIED. It sizzles when I pass through sections, and again does a terrible job of "straightening." It basically has undone the year and half or so I have spent to correct my damaged hair. I am so disappointed in this purchase and will be returning immediately. Also, just to note, CROC does not offer a customer service line. If you call the 800 number and indicate customer service, all it does is direct you to a recorded line on how you can return/exchange. I've had this flat iron for about 3 years now. As far as the actual act of FLAT IRONING, it's wonderful. I have thick curly shoulder length hair and what used to take me over an hour with a CHi, takes me about 30 minutes with this one. It heats fast and straightens thoroughly. My ONLY complaint is that the button placement on this thing drives me nuts! Im constantly turning it off accidently because your hand also happens to be where all the buttons are. This would otherwise be a 5+ star review! Move those buttons to the inside of the handles, PLEASE!Cassandra

I honestly don't remember how long I've had this flat iron. At least 2.5 yrs. Every time I've used it, the smell of burnt follows me everywhere and makes me feel self conscious. I have thick curly hair and used a high heat, so I would lower it thinking maybe it's too hot. The smell was still there, even with heat protection. I shrugged it off as that's just my hair. I've recently cut my hair very short and bought a $20 1/2 inch BedHead flat iron to be able to straighten my hair better. Well what do you know? Absolutely no burnt smell whatsoever. This flat iron replaced my Chi that I owned for 12+ years I chose this brand because my hair stylist uses it and wanted the titanium plates. After a couple years of light use I plugged it in, switched it on, and saw ERR. The plates never heated. The flat iron looks brand new! I researched online to see what the ERR message meant, but could not find anything. I did find a YouTube video where a person took one similar to this model and tore it completely apart in attempt to fix the same issue. He used fuse testers and different tools that was not an option for me. Resorting back to my old one and will not be purchasing this brand for my next one.Ang

This iron is perfect! I have thin hair but have been told I have a lot of thin hair. ? My hair is very wavy when air dried. I always blow dry it out and it straightens it pretty well but still have waves. I first put it on 400 and it did a fabulous job. My hair was straight and I could still curve it under without a crimp. I also highlight blond in it regularly and it still made it silky and shiny, I love it!! I struggled with how many stars to give this product. I'll tell you why. I have extremely naturally curly, frizzy, thick, coarse, 3c hair. I was made fun of my entire young life for the type of hair I have and am still sometimes embarrassed by it today when the product I'm using to tame it fails to perform like it should. Cue the GKhair Pro. This flat iron will definitely get the job done, but how well it's done is up for debate. If you have straight, wavy, or even the typical curly hair, this straightener is going to be a fantastic choice for you. If you have hair like me, you may struggle with getting it stick straight if that's the look you're after with this product. Even though it's still thick and somewhat frizzy afterwards, it definitely straightens my hair, but at a damaging, time consuming cost. I have to make about ten passes per strand on my hair to get it straight with this straightener. When you have a lot of hair like me, that takes up A LOT of time. Also, making that many passes on your hair with a heat of 450 is putting immense stress on your tresses. My hair is damaged, broken, and fragile. All due to the straightening. I would love to find a straightener that can actually get my hair stick straight, in a decent amount of time, and leave it with little damage and breakage. I have owned and tried probably fifteen straighteners over the years and I am yet to find one that meets all the standards that a good straightener needs to meet. I will say this about the product, this iron works better on my hair than the very pricey GKhair iron. And, it will most certainly straighten it. Those two attributes are what saved my rating from being lower than a 4. That and the fact that this is still the iron I'm currently using to straighten my hair, even though I wish I could find better. The product is also very sleek looking and thin, which is nice. I had been using a GKhair flat iron that worked fine but is no comparison to this one. This flat iron heats up really fast; they claim 15 seconds & I would say that's pretty close at least at my optimal temp.I have medium length, thick hair that has a lot of natural wave; not really curly. My optimal temp is 20 which is considered Med-High according to the instruction manual. It takes me about half the time to flat iron my hair with this iron compared to my old one. I think it's partly because this iron gets hotter & it gets hotter much faster. It's really a time saver! According to my hairdresser it's actually better to use a hotter iron (within reason – use the correct heat for your hair type) because you won't have to go over the hair as many times which can be more damaging.I always use straightening gel to protect the hair cuticle & give that extra gloss. A tiny bottle of Argan oil is included w/this iron. I thought it might make my hair greasy so I used it on a weekend. It actually worked really well, no grease & made my hair shiny & smooth. I would recommend trying a very small amount the first time (you really don't need much for "normal" hair). This is an oil pressed from the kernels of the argan tree.The temp is adjusted by a turn dial that goes from 1 to 30. Some straighteners you have to touch the plates to tell if its hot, which can burn you fingers, and no one wants that. You will also notice while straightening, the light will turn solid, meaning it just needs to heat up again. Conair has done it right again!! This is a fabulous wireless flat iron and I love that you can charge and take it with you or use it without a cord. I have fallen in love with this flat iron and this will replace my current one. Flat ironing without a cord is so awesome!! No longer am I tethered to the wall or limited to only flat ironing my hair in the bathroom, bedroom or wherever there is a plug. This would be great for anyone whether your at home or on the go, after the gym, traveler or even a camper. I felt so stupid looking at my Conair Unbound Cordless Flat Iron wondering where the ON/OFF button was. The instruction manual mentioned the button, but did not include where it was located, even in the diagram of the iron. I had to ask another owner where it was. It is inside below one of the titanium plates along with the +/- button. Other than that, I found the flat iron remarkably easy to use. It is lightweight and so easy to maneuver without a cord in the way. Since I have fine, wavy hair, I started with the lower temperature for fine hair. It didn't take long for me to realize it wasn't hot enough to straighten my hair, so I increased it to the wavy hair temperature. This worked better, but it still just did a very average job of straightening my hair. Still, I would recommend it because it is so easy to use.Slurpeegal

I received the Conair Unbound Cordless Flat iron. The flat iron has a 1 inch titanium flat plate and has 4 heat settings: 280, 320, 360, or 400. I have super thick hair, so I had to use 400. The cordless flat iron comes with a charger cord, a heat-resistant pouch to store your flat iron, and comes in a rather nice looking box that latches close with magnets. The flat iron is a pretty pinkish purple color that is very subtle. The control buttons to change the temp and turn on/off the flat iron is on the inside of the flat iron. Once the flat iron is on, you can see the temp lit up in LED light numbers of the temp that you have it set up for on the outside of the flat iron. In order to use the flat iron, you should first charge it for at least 3 hours. The direction recommend charging it every 3 months to prolong battery life even if you aren't using it. On a full charge, the flat iron is supposed to last up to 25 mins and does have an auto shut off feature if it's on for 15 mins or more. When using the Conair Unbound Cordless Flat iron, I think it is definitely better than other flat iron that I have used. I love that its cordless, has 4 temp settings, and that it has an auto shut off after 15 mins. I love knowing that because its cordless, I can bring it with me to do my hair at work, if I am running late. The flat iron is just the right size to fit into my tote bag. Also, I'm a little forgetful, so I think its great that there is an auto shut off after 15 mins. I would never want to forget and melt something down. That is one of my worst fears. I would totally recommend this product to my friends and family. In the past, I would always get so frustrated because of the cords getting twisted and not being close enough to the outlet. I used to own a Hot Tools flat iron, but once I received this flat iron for Christmas a few years ago, the Hot Tools one was promptly donated. The best part of this flat iron is how securely it clamps onto my hair. I don't need an iron grip in order to get good tension; the flat iron does it on its own. It also heats up extremely quickly – if I spray heat protectant on my hair and then immediately turn on the flat iron, the heat protectant will not be dry before the flat iron comes to temp. I also love the multiple temperature settings. I have loosely wavy hair that holds heat styling well, and I always have the temperature set to 365° F. My sister has curly hair, so when I'm doing her hair, we either keep the temperature at 365° or increase it one setting (to around 400°) depending on the day. I also love the aesthetics of this flat iron and of Kristin Ess' entire line of tools. The soft touch is nice and grippy, and it's never slipped out of my hand. I've owned this flat iron for years, and even though I don't straighten my hair every day, I've never had an issue with anything rubbing off. I have the nanoblack 3-in-one flat iron (couldn’t find it in Influenster) the full size, not the mini. It has a 9ft cord that moves with the iron (like if you’re doing curls) it’s not fixed to it, this is helpful if you’re like me have hair past your butt + it helps keep your cord from getting twisted. This iron is beautiful, it has a very soft silky feel to it is super sleek looking. It’s fairly light weight comfortable to hold. My hand wrist don’t get tired half way through doing my hair. It doesn’t have a lock on it to keep it closed but it does come with a cap you can slide over the end which keeps it closed, the instructions sheet says the cap is heat proof but I don’t quite trust that it is so I leave the iron in my sink until it cools down before putting the cap on (which fits quite snugly) hanging it up. As far as heat up time WOW this thing heats up FAST! It took less than 30 seconds for it to get up to temp! The sides are rounded so you can easily do curls without getting crease lines in them, although I haven’t quite mastered the technique of curling with a flat iron yet. One thing I was worried about was that hair would snag but after using it a few times that’s no longer a concern. My hair slides through it like silk. It has ceramic plates which are great for those of us who tend to get static hair after using hot tools (ugh the worst) It has a few different heat settings. I did have to look up how to do that since there’s no dial or specific button for that but it was easy to do. Just keep clicking the power button quickly until it’s the temp you want. When you plug it in you have to hit the power button, it doesn’t just start heating up on its own like other irons I’ve owned in the past. With all that being said I definitely do recommend this iron if you’re in the market for a new one. I had an older version of this hair styler that lasted several years. When it finally was time to retire it I bought this one thinking it would be the same just updated. It did not work as well to straighten my 3a curly hair and after only one year of use, the on/off button has been faulty and then completely stopped working. I will be replacing.Andrea

I absolutely love my new flat iron that also allows for the ease of doing my hair while it’s wet. What a time saver it has been for me going to Nursing school & Work! The quality is excellent. It has air holes allowing it to vent and express steam and dry your hair while it is wet or damp. I set it at 300 temperature and it takes 10 seconds to heat up so it’s ready to start straightening right away. However it does take a bit for it to cool down. The iron is a great size for those of us that small irons aren’t enough. You can take a whole big section and it flattens easily and looks great. So bigger sections also allow for getting done a lot quicker. No need to take small sections to get a great look. I love the 360 swivel of the cord that keeps it from getting tangled so easily and creating a short life for the iron. You can use both hands without constantly trying to move the cord out of the way. My hair is very fine and tends to frizz at the mention of the word humidity! I love straightening my hair, but I don't like that I have to dry it first or having to leave it air dry and straighten it the next day. This Wet2Style 1 3/4 Flat Iron is my new best friend. I can straighten my freshly shampooed hair after a simple towel dry instead of spending the extra time blow drying it with the hair dryer. I was a bit skeptical at first, because I have admittedly used my traditional flat iron on my damp hair (I know, a traditional styler is DAMAGING to wet hair!) and it just did not give me the sleek results I was looking for. I exchanged a CHI Ulta Beauty Red Straightener because that one did nothing for frizz and it had very minimal settings for this one because a team member recommended it. She said hot tools is known for their curling irons but that this one is very underrated and she said she uses it herself so I believed her. I didn't like it though. It snagged my hair every. single. time. I couldn't finish doing my hair it was that bad. I read the reviews and some say it worked out for them so I figure maybe they're not all like that. I decided to give the brand another chance so I just upgraded to the Hot Tools Radiant Blue Digital Titanium Flat Iron 1 1/2". So far, so good. It didn't snag my hair at all. Ladies please beaware of this product! I had my curlers for about 2 years no signs of damage. Today was the worst day with this product. Like one commenter said this product burned my hair out and completely blew up! Just like she said I was straighting my hair and the essential front parts when my curlers started to flash blue which is and indicator the curlers are off so I pressed and held down the button but it started flashing 65 f!! I didn't think nothing of it since it was now green and I straighten on much higher heat. I placed the curlers on my hair and it didn't straighten it. Then I touched the hair and some of my bang was burned off. Falling in my hand. I went back to the curlers, now they have no power even plugged in not even flashing a temp. I have had Hot tools flat irons and various other tools in the past and this one was a huge let down. Like regret ever buying and wish I could send it back to Hot Tools or Ulta. The plates pull my hair. The paint often flakes off into my hair. It doesn't seem to keep its heat when I am straightening my hair. When I have tried to use this I wind up needing a second straightener to finish doing my hair. It would work very well to control frizz if it didn't constantly try to pull my hair. I have several of Foxy Bae straighteners and they are amazing . They iron the hair smoothly without any tugging or damage to the hair . I only used this flatiron a handful of times. Until today. I used it as usual and I was wondering why my hair felt weird, I just thought maybe I didn't condition my hair properly. My hair is black and orange, once I got to my orange part I felt how hard and fried my hair felt and when I looked the flatiron melted on to my hair. Yes you read correctly. The side that is some sort of plastic where the ventilation squares are has indeed melted off into my hair and fried my hair off. So I started rechecking my black hair in the bottom and was scraping the melted plastic off and lost some hair in the right side of my head and bottom part of my head. After years of using drugstore straighteners & getting "meh"-results, I decided to bite the bullet & splurge for a more high-end one. I researched for about a year, watching/reading hundreds of reviews for various brands; I finally decided, very confidently, on this one. I notice it's slightly cheaper in price now (when I got mine, it was around $130, at Ulta), which is great, but as another reviewer states, is still far too expensive when considering the tool's shelf-life. That being said, for the 11 months this straightener worked for me, it was AMAZING! I have very baby-fine hair, & there's not a lot of it (asymmetrical pixie cut, but being in my mid-30's, it's starting to thin out a lot, too), so I really appreciated the lower heat settings. I should mention that my hair is naturally pretty straight to begin with, so I really used this more as a smoothing tool, rather than to straighten – & for this, it worked like a dream with just one pass! Normally, my hair is VERY(seasonally) static-y, & this helped SO much in taming that. Also loved how crazy long the cord is, & that it doesn't get twisted up at all (it rotates at the base), & the handle is constructed in such a way that it's easier than any other I've tried, as far as maneuverability – making it perfect to curl with, too (even with very short hair). Super fast heat up as well, which is great! BY FAR, this was the best straightener I've ever owned…BUT! Even with the long list of pros, the couple cons wound up being deal-breakers for me: 1st, the plates are far more delicate than I expected; if you get one, BE GENTLE/CAREFUL WITH IT! A friend of mine bought this after using mine, & dropped hers on her bathroom floor (linoleum), shattering the plates. & 2nd, the shelf-life is the shortest of any hair tool I've ever owned (drugstore ones are much better, in only this regard). If you buy one, BE SURE to save the purchase receipt & send it in with the provided warranty slip (seriously…mail it before you even take it home & try it lol) – this registers it for the 5 yr limited warranty. THIS ONLY HAS A ONE YEAR UNLIMITED (default) MANUFACTURER WARRANTY! Mine gave out after only 11 months – first, it wouldn't get hotter than the blue/green light, then even the 2 lower settings wouldn't stay on long enough to do even half my head, until it eventually quit turning on at all. Unfortunately for me, I was a dummy & never actually mailed the warranty slip (I filled it out, put it & the receipt in an addressed envelope…but left it in the box & totally forgot about it), so by the time it gave out on me, it was too late to register it for that limited warranty that would have convered a replacement 🙁 F.Y.I. Croc also offers further extended warranties on their products that you can purchase for like, $25, which I would definitely recommend getting. If only I knew then, what I know now 🙁 LOLNina B.

Already left 1 review about the On / Off / Temp control button. I forgot to mention that BOTH plates are vented for steam?! Between the steam vents and the heat of the outside of the plates, I burned my fingers repeatedly. Maybe I'm weird?! But I grab the end of the iron for placement on my thick, coarse hair. Nope. This hair straightener works so well. I have bleached curly hair and it only takes one-two swipes before it is fully straight. It has a large range of temperatures for you to choose from. It heats up very quickly. It also does not leave my hair frizzy by the end of my styling.ellie.s

I got this as a gift with purchase of my latest hair straightener. I figured this would be a great travel size item to have. However, since it is so tiny and only has one heat setting. It will take twice as long for your hair to kind of look okay. Unless you absolutely do not have room for a full size straighter, just pack your regular straightener, unless you want to spend half your trip straightening your hair.courtney.b

When I found this I was so incredibly happy. I was looking for something that could almost do a one pass and done. This is it. Until I find another like it I will continue buying this. It doesn't fry my hair and even on my split ends it doesn't scortch them. This flat iron is worth every penny. I absolutely love this line. If your looking to change it up I say try this. This is a pixie cut MUST HAVE! I use this mini straightening iron from Conair all the time. Especially when my curly hair pixie starts to get more length to it. When the curl starts to come in, this handy utensil gets my hair straight and locked in the right place. I love the size and light weight qualities… and it gets to the perfect temperature! Not too hot but just hot enough to be effective after only a few minutes of warming up. And the tiny plates are perfect for attacking those little baby hairs around my face that want to curl the wrong direction. 😉brittany.w

I'm very happy with the purchase. I had received the recommendation from my hair dresser. It was reasonably priced compared to competitors and I'm very happy with the quality performance. I have thick hair with uneven waves but this iron smooths it easily at 380 degrees and does not seem to damage my hair. The design is very functional tooTrina C.

I know it may be expensive, but I think it’s a very very very good investment. This is one of my holy grail flat iron. Before, I would use the Conair flat iron which is in the cheaper side. However, since I tend to use it almost every other day, the flat iron would just continuously keep breaking down on me. Not lasting me for a year and it doesn’t even feel smooth when I run it through my hair which is one of the down side. And then I decided to try the croc flat iron which was recommended to me by my hairstylist. I had this flat iron for almost 4 years now and still working perfectly fine and new. When you run this through your hair, it goes through very smoothly. It never caught my hair which I love and appreciate so much! Would I recommend this? Most likely yes!katrina.l

Best iron!!!!! I love it. I use it to iron my hair and to get my curls. I dont even need 2 stylers… unless i wanted smaller curls which this cant accomplish i have a small wand. This heats up quickly. The benefits of it besides how nice my hair looks after using is that it shuts off when is not being used, very helpful for those of us who are forgetful… it helps you to be worry free. Goes up to 450 degrees. I have had it for some time now, still going. I would definitely recommend, if you love flat ironing your hair this is such a good product to try. In the box it says its for professional use only not sure why, but truth is i am no professional i use it at home… one thing is true no one does my hair better then i do and this flat iron helps me to achieve my look easily… i usually wash and set and after my rollers i blow it out … then i iron by sections … the finish look is beautiful.#s. yinnette.g

As a previous hairdresser, Im used to working with curlers, straighteners. These had the ceramic plates, looked sturdy without being to heavy… it looked perfect. Half way through doing my hair, I felt it dragging my hair rather than gliding. I checked the temperature which was fine and carried on… then I smelt the singe and quickly got it off my head/hair and it was absolutely boiling hot. Now many straighteners go up to 230c, however these only go up to 180. Clearly these are not only very dangerous! Luckily, I was on the middle section so its not very noticeable when my hairs down. Thank God, I didnt grab a big section or God forbid a front section or my hair would have just snapped. Ive requested a return but Ill also be seeking to get the money back for the items Im having to buy to try and fix the hair. Be very very careful of these straighteners!!missesdreynolds

This is exactly as described in a previous review, excellent choice and extreme value. Professional feel and very quiet. I paid $20 for a Wahl beard trimmer replacing my old Wahl. The old Wahl is still better. Now, with Limural, the Wahl is history. I was looking for just hair clippers. I could not believe that I was getting a grooming cutter too. I see now why the original price was $89.95 at $39.9 this is a fantastic deal. For me, the price of two hair cuts. You will be pleased.Michael

I have had mine for a couple of years now, and I don't know how I ever lived without it. My hair is pretty curly, and can be very stubborn. It used to take me a good 40 minutes to straighten it with my old flat iron. I came across this one while looking for something new, and decided to give it a shot. It only takes me 10 minutes to straighten now, and it does such a great job. I couldn't believe how soft my hair was when I was done – it actually looks a whole lot healthier than it did curly or with any other flat iron. Now my mom and my sister have their own too, it's definitely worth paying a little extra for something that will last and do the job right.Viola
