Best To Clean Laminate Floors (2024 Update)

Finally I have found a floor cleaner for my laminate floors that do not streak. I have been using this for about a year and have been very happy how it shines and does not streak. I have tried several kinds looking for something that works. Best Ever!Mrs Bluejeans

I would like to know in what universe this product does not leave residue on a laminate floor? I sprayed it on, dry mopped it like it says in the instructions and the resulting floor was embarrassing. Streaks, residue, total badness that took me two hours on my knees with one wet and one dry towel to clean up. Wow. I cant think of a product that sucked more than this. This stuff was terrible. I used it on laminate wood flooring. Left the floor streaky and dull. I went back to Pledge floor care which was my normal and did a side by side comparison. What a difference. I only tried it cause I thought Zep was supposed to have great products. So bought it on a whim. Will never use it again!NotHappy22

Try diluting the heck out of it (about 5 or 6 sprays into 6 cups of so of hot water) and then use it to clean. THAT made all the difference!! Clean as a whistle! I think this is just too potent in its bottled form; dilute it way down and see what you think before you toss it.kimkats

Purchased this product as an update to an original FloorMate, model # H2800, that I've had for many, many years. Have much more floor to wash now and am much older. Wanted the rotating spin-scrub brushes and the much larger wash solution tank which are an improvement over the original model. Am disappointed. The old FloorMate out-performs this newer model in the wet vacuum mode, by far, plus the newer model leaks significantly more wash solution than the older model when stationary. The tank is properly seated so that is not the problem. Thought for sure that Hoover would've gotten a handle on this issue on updated models. While the FloorMate remains a great concept, the performance of this new model is not acceptable to me. Will resort to using my original FloorMate and resign myself to filling the wash solution tank 8-10 times as opposed to 3 times but the flooring will be almost instantly dry. Will 'gift' my sister-in-law with this new model so she can wash her back porch floor with ease as she does not require the same level of almost instant dryness that I prefer.Reenie

This is my 4th floor mate, my last one the brush would not stay attached, This one I'm having a problem with the clear cover staying on. But all in all this is a good concept for cleaning and then rinsing the floor. I wash my floor and then suck up the water, then put clean water in the tank and re rinse the floor. I have 2 old doxie who pee, and this machine really helps with the clean up. I also use it on the rubber mats at my back door during the winter and rainy season. Until summer when I can take my mates outside for a go pressure washing. The company just needs to look at a better design for the brush and now the clear cover.LINDA

I bought this specifically to clean my laminate floors after a basement remodel that left a layer of Sheetrock dust is n the textured laminate. We scrubbed, mopped and everything else to try and clean the laminate, but couldn't get this layer of dirt off the floors. Bought this vac to try since we'd already tried everything else. Mixed the cleaner with a cap full of vinegar and tried an area. Couldn't believe the dirt I emptied out of the container after one pass. After this we decided to move all the furniture and do one whole room. Not only did it get all the dirt out of the distressed floors, it scrubbed the laminate back to looking new. We'll to say the least we ended up doing every room in the house because the dust had come up through all the vents. The heavy traffic areas we did twice and still were able to pull additional dirt off the floors. I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research before buying and the main reason I decided on this one was because of the rotating brushes. They scrub the floors in both directions and suck up the water when pulling it back. I live this vac and have also used on my tile floors. It does not clean the grout, but I wouldn't expect it to, but does an amazing job on the tile. I will be making another quick pass to n all the floors again just to see how much additional dirt I can get off. Great purchase, don't be scared by the other reviews. The vac will leak a little when water is in the cleaning container and you leave it in one spot, so if storing with water in the tank, our a towel under it.Doug

I used this product on my wood floors that are almost 6 years old and it gave my floors a new life. It didn't leave any residue like wood floor cleaners usually do, and left no streaks. I have small hands and had somewhat of a hard time holding it. Maybe you can add a handle with some kind of pressing attachment. Great for more than just floors! I had been using this strictly on the wooden flooring in my home because it's the only thing powerful enough to clean the scuff marks while leaving behind a bright shine and fresh scent that doesn't leave my house smelling like chemicals. I bought a Bissell crosswave cordless max last year for Christmas because this was sold out. Originally I wanted this I did a lot of research and thought the Tineco one was far more advanced considering they had come out at the same time. My Bissell broke and again it hasn't even been a year I did not buy the warranty for it because I thought it would at least last a year. But I decided I'd buy my original choice and I'm far from disappointed. The issues I had with the Bissell I don't with this. Bissell was bad at streaking and would leave a puddle of water behind the brush roller was so soft it wouldn't pick up dried messes larger food bits would be pushed in front of the Bissell instead of being picked up. The Tineco one is streak free has a studier brush roller that makes picks up dried messes easily it is an auto mode machine so it distributes water and detects water never leaves a puddle behind large food objects like dog kibble gets picked up easily. I have a fairly high number of animals and a senior dog who doesn't have 100% bladder control so these machines are used day in day out. I recommend this to anyone its perfect for everyday use light to heavy messes.Alysun Lusty

I chose this thanks to the Vacuum Wars youtube channel. We used to have a Bissell Crosswave but it didn't last long at all. It started to smell pretty quickly and got clogged a lot (dog hair gang!) I assumed it was our habits so we bought a second one and the same thing happened again, even with more vacuuming and better Crosswave cleaning habits. This time I decided the extra money would be worth it and so far it definitely has been! The only con so far: the clean water tank really should be larger. We have a medium house, nothing large or fancy, and we can't even get through a full room (kitchen especially) without refilling the tank.Cam

This floor cleaner is awesome. It’s good for laminate and of course, hardwood. It brings just the right amount of shine to a floor without leaving residue. It has gotten a bit more expensive than I prefer to pay for this product.candace.m

My granny gifted me massive boxes of Bruce when I graduated high school and went to college and preached to me how that all I bet use on my hardwood floors. Now I understand why!!! I have lived in apartments and homes that have had laminate, sealed hardwood, engineered hardwood, and currently 92 year old oak hardwood floors. It has worked wonders on every single one of them. Does not leave a film or sticky feeling. Leaves it with a natural shine and not overwhelming. I have gifted friends who have used other brands and could not get the white film off despite everything and Bruce took it right off! This stuff is amazing! I would recommend this product for wood vinyl floors! I always have this at home because I want to keep our floor clean, I usually just clean the house on weekends but when I discovered this product, I'm cleaning more often because I am really pleased with the results. Take note though that you don't use it with a mop, you need to have a dry cloth to kind of wipe it on the floor. At first I use it with a mop and it gave streaks on the floor and sticky.anna.c

Just used today for the first time and it did a good job cleaning and leaving a tiny bit of shine. I have laminate flooring, the cheap kind and after several months of doing the wrong thing with them, they lost their luster. Hoping after a few more uses the shine will build up again. I’ve actually been using this for years before I discovered Grove. I have a house full of antique hardwood floors, so not sealed. I use the Bona mop system for daily cleaning because it was recommended by flooring experts. But, when a deeper cleaning is needed, that product falls short. Method floor cleaner for wood has enough safe, gentle surfactants to get the floor really clean, especially if there’s a really dirty spot or some mysterious sticky spill. The almond scent is not overpowering. It’s not my favorite scent. But, it’s not objectionable. I do truly wish Method made refills since the plastic squirt bottle would be easily reusable. I haven’t found any better product on the market than this one, including all brands. I highly recommend this.Catherine D.

I’m very impressed with this product! Although I didn’t notice a smell (I don’t care about the scent part), this cleaned my old imperfect wood floors fantastically! I used to use Murphy’s wood oil cleaner but have seen a lot of negative comments about their new formula so I figured I would try this and I’m impressed! I didn’t use a lot and diluted it with water which it said not to do but I was super impressed with the shine it left behind. My floors feel clean and look shiny. When I lived in a house with almost all hardwood floors there was a lot of sweeping and mopping involved to keep them looking good. As a fan of method products and environmentally-friendly items in general I immediately bought and started using method's Almond Squirt and Mop Hardwood Floor cleaner in conjunction with their now-defunct O-Mop. Yes this squirt and mop liquid was environmentally friendly and smelled lovely. Yes it was easy enough to find at the local Target and even in some grocery stores. That being said it was good really only for a quick touch-up or spot-clean. I still had to get on my hands and knees with a cloth to remove any type of dried stain. It also didn't leave the floors with any type of long-lasting shine like Murphy's Oil Soap did. Eventually I stopped buying this method hardwood floor cleaner and returned to Murphy's Oil Soap. I use this in my entire home. No other product worked for me like this one. Removes that weird greasy residue that can build up on floors and has a very mild orange scent. I still occasionally mop with vinegar just to prevent any build up, but since using this it hasn't really been necessary. #cleanhousemariam.k

This is an extremely lightweight machine. Not just in actual weight, but in the job it does. The motor is not powerful, the spinner is not fast. You do NOT save time using this over mopping. You must go SLOOW, back and forth, several times, over each area on even the lightest of soiled flooring. You must clean as instructed, the spinner, screens, and filter after only a few minutes of use or it will stop working completely. It doesn't do well on tile unless there are nearly flat grout lines. What is it good for? Linoleum, very lightly soiled. Probably to have it charged and ready for a small spill in the kitchen while cooking, then set it aside and know you WILL have to disassemble and clean it before you use it again, even after only a minute or two of use. This thing is terrible. I wanted a shark cross wave but they’re expensive. I looked through the description and the reviews and thought this may be a less expensive alternative. You get what you pay for. We use it 2 X on hardwood floors. We don’t have carpets. The cleaner started spitting out nasty, dirty, smelly water all over the place. It left my house smelling like a septic tank. Yes, we have a puppy that has accidents and we used it to clean up. Aren’t these things designed to clean up messes? We have disassembled it just like the directions instructed. We cleaned every item that was disassembled with soap and water and even a tiny bit of bleach on the roller. We put it back together, turned it on and once again it starting spitting out sewage water. I haven’t touched it since. So i bought this yesterday i been eyeing this mop for awhile and read alot of reviews. I was so excited to finally get it as the reveiw were so great. I been useing a reuseable spray mop so wanted to up grade as the mop head gets dirty so quick as a single mom i wanted something more convenient but that is not what i got. I was so disappointed in this mop vacuum. I have real hardwood floor and laminate in my kitchen. This did not clean i had dirty spots on my floor that my mop would have got in 2 seconds. But this thing did not clean and at first im like i must be doing something wrong so i read the book with it like 5 times going yes im doing it right. At first the floor wasnt even getting wet but after holding the button down felt like forever it finally got wet. I had to go over spots so many time for it to even get clean. Went to clean my kitchen and that was even worst i kept going over a spot over and over and nothing. So i got out my spot mop sprayed it with just water and it came up as soon as i went over it. So it wasnt a hard spot to clean but the vacuum did not clean it. only good part of the vacuum is that it sucks up the water nice and leaves your floor pretty much dry. It didnt leave streaks but the worst thing of it is when you turn it on its so powerful that it moves the vacuum forward so hard that your fighting it to go backward to suck up the water. For $200 this is not worth it at all my $30 stray mop does so much better ( but hate that it leaves my floors so wet). Oh also this doesnt not get your floor wet or clean a inch away from the wall or your rugs so couldnt get on the side of floors clean.Amber

The concept of this mop is excellent. In order to offer a thorough review I am going to break it down into cons and pros. Pros: 1. Dual tanks: As opposed to other mops, like the Spinwave mop, this mop comes with dual tanks. This idea is great because there is a tank with clean water continuosly providing water to the roller while the other tank collects the dirty water created as the mop cleans your floor. This is a major plus because you are no longer spreading the dirt all around your floors. 2. Three rollers: The fact that 3 rollers are included it makes it really easy to continue using this mop even if one roller is out of service because it's drying. 3. Light weight: The mop is light in weight and it's easy to maneuver throughout my hardwood floors. 4. Built-in Screen: It's nice to have a screen that displays the battery percent remaining as you mop the floors. As it goes down it kind of rushes you to finish the job. LOL 5. Mop and vacuum cleaner combined: This thing can mop and vacuum at the same time. It's great if you want to go straight into mopping without vacuuming. Down side to this is that you will have to clean the dirty water tank and it's not fun. Cons: 1. Price: At $400, I think this mop is too expensive. I was lucky enough to get it when it was on sale for a fraction of the cost. At the price point I bought it, it's a steal. 2. Edges cannot be mopped: This mop will not be able to mop the edges around your house due to how the mop was designed. It leaves about 1 cm or 2 of the hardwood unmopped. I haven't seen a real issue with this but I know some people get upset about this. I have a Roomba J7+ that vacuums the edges real well so I am not really worried about it. Plus, the edges do not get really dirty, it's not a high traffic area. 3. Small tanks: While the concept of dual tanks is awesome, their size is really not. If you are planning to mop around 1,500 Sq. Ft at a time you may have to refill the clean water tank and also discard the water in the dirty water tank at least once. 4. Cleaning the dirty water tank: This mop offers the dual feature of vacuuming and mopping all at once. It's great if you don't want to vacuum before mopping but just keep in mind that YOU will be the one responsible for cleaning the dirty water tank. The tank can get really nasty and you may not like what you see. Thankfully I have a Roomba and I always let it vacuum first before I mop. 5. Battery life: I put this as a con because the battery only lasts for about 35 minutes. If you are wanting to mop a house that is 2,500 Sq. Ft or higher you have to take a long break to let this thing charge again. I would definitely suggest this company to add a bigger battery or offer a fast charging station like Ego does. It would be nice to get back to cleaning within an hour as opposed to waiting for at least 5 full hours.Buenascompras

As someone who owns a home with mostly hardwood floors, small amounts of carpets, and a large number of rugs, I've definitely struggled to find the best and most versatile cleaning solutions. The Floor One S3 is the closest I've come yet to floor cleaning bliss. Things I liked about it: Tidy package with the dock, holds most of the parts and accessories, and you don't have to plug in to charge it, there are contacts in the dock that do this for you. Extra brush roller Self Cleaning mode when you dock Voice announcements for what it's doing as it cleans/changes modes iLoop tells you when it detects dirty floors Things I didn't like as much (Opportunities) HEAVY for it's size Battery life is shorter than expected for the size Auto Mode tends to use more water than I would expect Does this really need wifi? Clean water tank is even smaller/shorter use time than the battery life Doesn't sneak in under things as nimbly as you might hope Voice announcements will definitely need to be shut off, or at least reduced in volume This vac-mop is quite hefty for it's somewhat compact looking size, and is definitely bottom weighted design. The cleaning power and abilities are the best I've seen yet from a vac mop, and I have been zipping it out just to have the satisfaction of cleaning up a particular mess or dust bunny. On the flip side, I feel like I can watch the battery level drop by the second as I use it, and it doesn't quite do my entire main floor of hardwood/tile. The clean water tank seems like I'm constantly filling it. Reading the manual is NOT optional, as you need to know how often to manually clean what. The iLoop display is informative, and I found I was able to charge it up and start using it immediately. The Tineco = Floor One S3 Extreme Wet/Dry Hard Floor Cordless Vacuum impressed us both on its very first use. The assembly amounts to snapping the handle into place and putting the clean water tank into place. and that's it! The loop on the handle points forward and where you put it in the machine has a matching groove for the little protrusion on the handle bottom front side so you can't put it on wrong. Plug it in to charge up, add one capful of the enclosed Tineco cleaning/disinfecting solution and go read the book while it charges. It talks to you! Letting you know what its doing or that you need to do to it and its display ring turns from red to blue as to let you know the area that you are cleaning is clean. The voice assist can be turned off if not desired at the time or not desired at all. It's really lightweight and relatively quiet and on normal dirt and dust days it is even self – cleaning.! Just put it back in the charging base and hit the self – cleaning button and it cleans the roller for you. Of course you still have to dump and clean the dirty water tank and filter yourself. And speaking of dirty water we were very surprised at exactly how dirty the water was. I dry mop daily and wet mop when it needs it or at least every other week but the Tineco picked up so much more than that method. It left us with very clean, mopped and vacuumed and shiny vinal and sealed hardwood floors in the time it takes to vacuum only otherwise. Now after a big mess such as spaghetti'o's or something you may have to manually clean the tank and roller but that is an easy task as well. Personally we will generally clean up major messes with paper towels before attempting to use this or anything else before we had this. It can also be used in suction mode only where needed or required. It leaves us with beautifully clean floors and I am very glad to have it Two spare rollers and a spare filter were pack away in the box so be sure and check every piece of cardboard before throwing anything away.PapawJeff

I’ve used Bona for over twenty years and have always been happy with it. I bought the refill and used it to do my family room, the last room I had to do for this time. I now have an ugly film that shows marks and has no shine whatsoever. I can definitely see where I used the old I had and the new I just purchased. We found out a lot of the products claiming to be the best for this type of flooring, actually makes them cloudy and discolored looking. When that happens, you have to strip the floor, reseal it, and then the floor is never the same. After reading customer reviews and manufacturers reviews, we decided to try the Bona since we are elderly and don’t want to have to strip the floor. We moved in the end of January 2019 and now it is October of 2022 and our floor still looks like new! Best decision ever! We even invested in the Bona mop which makes cleaning the floor a breeze!Corinne M

I bought this cleaner and the Bonz mop because I thought it was a well known brand. Not only does it leave my floors sticky it also does a poor job of cleaning them. I have had to remop the floors because of stickiness with a different product and discovered my floors were still dirty as the residue left was picked up on the second mop head. i was very skeptic when ordering this vacuum mop, compared to the crosswave. Well the Euerka is equally if not better then then the crosswave. The suction is remarkable, the cleaning is on point, the self clean mode is a bonus, the cord is long enought, the noise is reasonable , the dispense of water and cleaning solution is perfect and the cleaning of the two containers is easy. i really love this purhchase and for he price compared to others is a steal.sharzach-0

This is my absolute favorite hardwood floor cleaner. I love how new it makes my original hardwood floors look when they're 62 yrs old. I just squirt it down and mop it up. Then follow with Murphy's oil soap for a real shinesara.s

I love the Mannington products on my floors. I am a senior citizen and its help my floors stay clean. I have floors in living room, kitchen, hallway and laundry room. A sample of this product came with my new floor. I ordered more through Walmart. Love the way it cleans grout on tile floors as well as cleans the tile at the same time. It has no odd odor and is safe for my dogs in case they should lick the floor. I use it from a spray bottle and a brush to clean the grout then just swipe it off. So glad to have found this wonderful product. I highly recommend it.Ellen

Liked the smell and was easy to use. After vacuuming the floor good, poured the liquid from the gallon container into my quart SHAW spray bottle and sprayed it directly onto the microfiber pad. Then ran the microfiber pad across the floor, going with the grain whenever possible. Left a nice dull gloss as it dried.noviceplus

Like all Fuller products, I use it was such confidence and it works! I like the way it cleans my tile and laminate floors. I keep some in a spray bottle for small areas between area rugs and the sink, for example.Leah N.

As with every Fuller product I have tried, I LOVE this floor cleaner. Only requires very little and cleans A LOT of floor. Beautiful shine. Not an overwhelming scent (which I find so annoying in so many cleaners now). Clean and crisp. Does a great job. Fuller products are the best.
