Our entire basement was covered with dry core about 10 yrs ago.We recently discovered a section had some mold, so we pulled it up and bought new to replace the old in this section. The new tile is not the same dimensions as the old stuff. Of course it is much thinner and the tongue and grove is also thinner. Therefore to replace a small area meant ripping up the entire thing. So we tried our best to abate the mould and reused the old, we shall be returning this as soon as the store reopens. I really dislike when manufacturers do this, of course they do it to save a buck, but I shall not be buying any.Reno elders
I bought two batches of this subfloor. The first purchase was at least 40 pieces. It was of good quality and relatively easy to install. The second purchase of another 40 pieces was not as good. There were numerous bits of sticky gum bits on the flooring surface. At first I thought it was pine sap but after picking a number of them off, I realised that it was the glue that the plastic underliner was attached with. When installing the flooring I was constantly removing sticky glue balls from the surface and from the base of my shoes! Very annoying. When cutting smaller pieces of the subfloor to fit in smaller areas, I discovered that there were numerous sections of the plastic that were not glued to the wood. Odviously, quality control was lacking during the production of this batch! It was way too late to return the product at this point! Another odvious sales ploy is to make the size of the planks just under 2 feet square so that calculating square footage isn't very accurate, making you buy more than you need. The same with the planks flooring. Why can't you make them easier to figure out. Instead of 3.75 square feet each, why not make It 4!! At almost 10 dollars a sheet, you'd think the quality would be better than that!Dave
The easiest sub floor I have ever installed. Make sure you buy some of the shims designed for this flooring. You'll want it to be as rock free as possible, specially if you are going to put ceramic tile over it. Takes a little planning ahead of time as it is tongue and groove and you have to be careful that tongue meets groove and so on. Putting this down without glue or nails is wonderful. It goes down very fast. You now have a floor that is going to remain dry, specially if plan to put down carpet.Robert C

Surprised to see the product being shipped from the manufacturer in USA. Well received and the installationwas quick and easy. The noise levels are absultely minimal after installation of 12mm laminate and we are very pleased with the results. Easy to cut with knife or scissors. i pieced it together to do about 300 sq ft. I found it worked well to use the mortar on the wet side. This helped to absorb into the fabric a bit better. In one spot that I ran out of, I rolled it back over the mortar, which pulled off, so I would recommend bending, rather than rolling over dryed mortar to finish your roll. I used Schluter All Set for under the ditra. I cannot yet speak to the uncoupling effects, as I have yet to complete the tile installation. Using on joists spanning 16 oc with a 3/4 inch subfloor.
