Setup with the mobile app works, you just don't know why. There is no configuration possible with the mobile app, just the name of the network, user and password. The management software is utterly useless, it won't even install on Mac's without tricks because of missing vendor certificate. Once installed, it won't work unless you build some type of management platform that requires other networking hardware. The AP itself works flawlessly, with speeds as advertised. Unless you connect many of these AP's to one giant network, I'd recommend to choose a simpler product for home use. This one here is more for commercial applications.

If you want to get the fastest WiFi speeds you’ve ever seen, get this thing! On a google fiber connection can max out at 600 Mbps up/down on the 5ghz band and for the smaller IoT devices the 2.4 ghz band is rock solid! That being said, this is not your average plug it in access point/router. There is a learning curve to using the UniFi controller software so don’t expect this to look like your Linksys router’s confit page.Michael
I had Cisco Meraki before I switched over to Ubiquiti and I have to say this is a better product overall. Roaming from one Access point to another works better than other one I had. Throughput from these access points are amazing. After using off the shelf routers on a 100Mbps connection for many years, I've decided to treat myself with Gigabit Fios, fiber service. That's when I realize how inconvenient is having one billion bits per second delivered over a wire, but only getting a fraction of that over WiFi. So after doing my research, I decided to get myself a Ubiquiti UniFi AC HD (High Density). The UniFi AC HD is a high performing 4×4:4 access point powered by the best SoC that Qualcomm has to offer (QCA 9994), which is also found in the highest end enterprise grade solutions from Meraki and Ruckus, which cost $1,300 bare bone, but require additional licenses and subscriptions which add $thousands to the cost over the years. AC HD supports Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO), Transmit Beamforming, Hardware offloading on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands, super low latency, dedicated hardware offload for QoS, Guest control, etc. It's all controlled with the single pane of glass via UniFi Controller software. Because of it's vertical radial pattern it's highly recommended to mount the unit on the wall or ceiling, and avoid placing them flat on the desk or other surfaces. This also means that if you're looking for an access point that will cover extremely large surface and bleed into the outside areas, this probably isn't the right product for you. But if you're looking for the highest performing Wi-Fi access point delivering the ultra efficient and reliable connectivity to hundreds of devices, then this is absolutely the one to get. Oh, and finally my Wi-Fi speeds match that gigabit wired fiber connection.

We have been purchasing these APs as well as other Unifi products to fully develop the WIFi experience at our House of Worship. Very easy user interface. It’s practically plug and play.Grant
I bought 2 packs of these for a total of 10 units for use at our church. We aren't a large group, but it's old an concrete/brick building and wireless doesn't travel very far. Setup was very easy to do, and configuring/maintaining the the deployment is very easy. I opted to install the UniFi controller software on a Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS VM. Default login was simple: https://serverip/:8443 and from there a guided setup. It automatically found all the UniFi access points that were on our network, guided through setting up SSID, security, administrator passwords, etc. Firmware updates to the APs is a snap! Once up and going with the basics, it was easy to add an additional guest SSID on a separate VLAN, configure secuirty, and isolate clients from each other with a click of a button. One more screen and you've configured bandwidth limitations for the group as well. The only concerns I have is with some of the auto settings with AP radio configuration. It seems to want to allow neighboring APs to share the same channel My understanding of best practice is you would try to minimize this. I ran RF Scan so it could identify the interferences, and after that it seemed more logical channel selection… for a couple of days, then things started jumping back to what I think would be conflicting. Another thing worth mention is that by default, the 2.4GHz channel is only 20MHz wide, and the 5GHz band is a 40MHz channel. This means if you are in need of high thoughput, by default you won't get it. Not sure the thought process behind this decision by Ubiquiti. I feel the controller software has a reasonable amount of statistics available for the APs, even without the USG capabilities provided by Ubiquit's other hardware. I can easily identify what APs have a heavy number of clients, which ones aren't, and adjust power outputs accordingly. You also get a decent number amount of info about individual clients attached to the APs. Good quality, easy to use
We have deployed UniFi across 11 sites so far. The first site we installed has some UAP-Pro units that are hit hard all day long, 5 days a week. We decided after about 2 years use, we would upgrade to the new AC units. The 2 year old UAP-Pro's are still functioning 100%, they are just being replaced due to upgrades. At this point we have 62 UniFi APs and I will be going onsite in about 2 weeks to install 6 more at a new location. UniFi doesn't fit the build for everybody with specific requirements, but it does deliver exceptional wireless service at a disruptive price point. I feel these CAN work for about 90% use cases. I've been using various UniFi gear over the past 4 years and have been pretty happy with their functionality. I bought these new mesh AP's to upgrade to dual band and take advantage of the latest technology. They seem to work well when you can get them to connect, but their range is much less than the UniFi Outdoor+ AP's we were using. The old radios had no problem connecting across the 125' distance between units – however, the mesh AP's have only internal antennas and cannot make the connection easily if at all. And, there is no way to connect an external antenna upgrade – bummer. Basically, I cannot use two of the five units I purchased because they cannot "see" each other even though the old units had no issues doing so. So, in my opinion these will work fine as along as your grid/mesh has them no more than 75' to 100' apart with clear line-of-sight connectivity. Otherwise, find something else.Kelly
Provides great outdoor coverage. It is mounted to the outside of our house and we now have wifi coverage over an area of a couple acres. It also provides wifi inside our metal barn from the house that is about 100 yards away. Setup was very simple but I did already have an indoor AP and unifi controller.Tim
I needed a UAP-AC-Pro but those are on eternal backorder it seems. This has more Tx power and better range for only a little more money. I was installing in the basement so the extra size was not an issue. If you are using it outside the size won't really matter. If you want to use it inside be sure to take the size in to consideration.Robert

If you're buying this product you probably already know what you need to make it work, or, you have a general understanding of an SDN. If not, maybe try an all-in-one solution for wifi. I installed this in my house along with the 8-port 60-watt Unifi Switch, which has 4 PoE ports. I also installed the Unifi Controller on a Raspberry Pi device. Coverage is great in my 2-story 3500 square foot house, but I have ordered a second AP for stronger coverage and redundancy for when I make network changes and need to restart an AP. My house was pre-wired with Cat5e throughout and structured wiring to a closet. I have a battery UPS powering my broadband modem, router, and switch, which in turn powers my wireless access points. The Guest Portal is great. I configured a guest wireless network that can accept limited-time vouchers. I have a technical network background (CCNP/CCDP), so I was glad to find an "enterprise" solution that is inexpensive enough to deploy at home. I really like the niche that Ubiquiti has found between the consumer-grade stuff that has to be rebooted once a week and the "big name" enterprise stuff that can cost as much as a small car. Although I'm using this for home use, the Ubiquiti gear seems like it's quite suitable for business deployment.Anonymous
Purchased two of these in-wall APs. Besides their low-key appearance they also have two built-in data jacks with one of them supplying PoE. We have a total of 4 Unifi APs (2 in-wall and 2 mesh) – all 4 powered via PoE from an 8-port Unifi PoE switch. 1 of the mesh APs is actual connected to / powered by one of the in-all APs (I'm not going into details about the non-standard ethernet wiring we found here/have to live with ;-), so yes you can daisy-chain another PoE device from the in-wall AP while the in-wall AP is powered from a PoE switch. If you do not have a wired Ethernet infrastructure in your home or office.,Unifi's Network system allows you to set up their APs as repeaters, so you can provide network access to those otherwise hard to reach places. These AP's are meant to be used with Ubiquiti's Unifi Network controller which can be downloaded for free and installed on a Mac, Win or Linux system or in a much more simplified way (with a very small foot-print) by using the Unifi CloudKey Gen2 or Gen2 Plus (latter has a built-in video server). Our home network consist of the Unifi Cloud Key Gen2 Plus (network/video controller), Unifi Security Gateway 3P (Internet router/firewall), Unifi 8-Port PoE switch (150W), the above mentioned 4 APs (access points) and a UNifi UVC Micro G3 wireless camera. Since implementing this system our wireless woes are thing of the past. Great network insight and update tools make network maintenance a breeze (or, if you will, not necessary), while at the same time give you an opportunity to learn more about the world of computer networking if you are so inclined.Tomas

This is my my second Ubiquiti UniFi Access Point. Can't get more then 60 Mbps speed out of it. While this is adequate, I was expecting more. No it is not my other equipment or internet provider. Wireless = 60 Mbps, wired 215 Mbps on the speed test with same computers. Tried everything I could and did research online etc. Nothing works. Disappointing but adequate performance. At first setup I had this unit in my office 5 ft away from my laptop, 60 Mbps. also tested with other laptops and same laptop at other end of house 50 ft away through walls, a bit less then 60 Mbps. Finally after much research and trying tons of stuff with settings and every possible thing, Just gave up. 60 Mbps and that is it. If you want to go faster buy another brand of equipment. I will next time for a wireless unit. Still think Ubiquiti makes good stuff, this unit just does not work as advertised concerning speeds.Robert
This thing is huge. It's the size of a dinner plate, and it glows blue when you've finished setting it up. If you have a Ubiquiti network at home or in your office, and you need to extend it, this is a great device for the job. If you're looking for a wireless router, this is not what you need. It has no DHCP, routing, or firewall functionality. This is a device that extends your network from the cables to the air, and is configured via the excellent web-based UniFi Network Controller. As with most Ubiquiti gear, this thing gets its power over Ethernet. You don't need a PoE switch to use it, though, since a PoE injector is provided in the box. This device, combined with a UniFi Dream Machine, covers every corner of my property with Wi-Fi. The UniFi Network Controller tells me which access point my devices are using and, no matter which one they're connected to, the experience is great. Mobile phones, tablets, and Chromecasts can stream videos from any source without any buffering or stuttering. The overall coverage is pretty close to that of Ubiquiti's AmpliFi HD mesh system, but the performance is much better.
I recommend this product in the Unifi environment to those with technical networking skills. If you have only basic networking skills, you may get up and running quickly in the Unifi environment and find a learning curve each time you add new security features, as you learn to tune your WiFi environment, etc. Networking is a complex technical subject and this is essentially commercial equipment. However, due to cost, it has a home market. Most people who use it at home also have worked in the computer industry in a technical capacity. So your community support can be most helpful and I think it is a great, hands-on way learn, but the less technical background you possess the greater the learning curve opportunity and time to get things done. There are also quite a few online. How-to articles and videos from the vendor and the community. While the controller is the heart and strength of the Unifi line, it is a work in progress. I could wish it was more complete. The product wish list is long, but much of their wish list is for preference or improvements to existing features. New features sometimes have workarounds. Ubiquiti is actively adding features, bug fixes and security features. Most of the wish list will be of little or no importance to you. Of what is important, it may show up in a release in the next 3 months, year or several years. It depends on perceived need and difficulty. If the Unifi controller can do something, it is probably a lot easier to do than the old way. Sometimes it does not do something and the workaround is the old way. Awesome little product with easy installation. At the time of this review, the NanoHD WAS NOT ABLE TO be configured via mobile device. You need to setup the controller on a machine and configure the Access Point from there. Although you can have a dedicated machine on the network to act as a controller, For management of less than 10 units you can either have a dedicated machine on the network to act as a controller, get the Ubiquiti UC-CK UniFi Cloud Key, Hybrid ([Ubiquiti UC-CK UniFi Cloud Key, Hybrid (Network Accessories)](https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/ubiquiti-uc-ck-unifi-cloud-key-hybrid-network-accessories-network-accessories-5683751) ) or alternatively, you can use http://hostifi.net I'm currently using a machine on the network to work as a controller but just ordered the Cloud Key as I believe that is the most robust solution for my needs.
Coverage is good, management via the unify controller is too. But WHY an eu plug with the PoE injector , arrived with an EU to Swiss adaptor but it is enormous! that let down the whole experience
It took me longer than expected to get the device to pair with the App, required to enable set-up. I still don't have the full functionality on my PC (setting up a guest network for example), but the wi-fi connection is strong and fast.

I installed this to replace two wireless routers in an older house with very dense, signal blocking walls. It gives better coverage than the two routers combined. More effort to install but it has been running flawlessly for three weeks now. Install instructions are not great for someone not used to dealing with wireless access points and Ubiquity's UniFi system but there are several very helpful guides on You Tube that will walk you through the process. Brought these to replace 3 older Cisco consumer grade WiFi access points. Improvements: native roaming (without turning on fast or seamless roaming) WiFi speed distance Reliability Configuration interface is iPhone simple Published API support Since purchased I have received 2 updates to firmware. So ubuiqity are still enhancing their products, I received one update to Cisco gear. My impression is that they still support there older products by including them in firmware releases…. Most other companies seem to forget there old devices after support has ended. Liked them so much I replaced my 3 Cisco switches with more unifi gear!! I'm also investigating replacing security cameras with unifi gear. You won't regret unifi products!
I have been using the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-PRO Dual-band AC1750 router as an exclusive AP to my Internet router for two months now. I'm impressed with the stability and ease of setup. The WiFi coverage is impressive and easily covers my "standard" size house. The web GUI is very informative and there is even a built-in frequency band analyzer to help find the sweet spot for your WiFi. Overall a great product. Pros: 1. Ease of use 2. Stable WiFi connection 3. WiFi Band analyzer to find the optimal band with least interference. 4. You can switch off all the lights on the AP so it doesn't bother you at night. 5. The typical home wireless router puts everything in one box – the router, software, and wireless access points. UniFi breaks it apart into plug and play modules that you can place anywhere independently. This gives way more configuration options which is all straight forward with the UniFi software. For those a little more knowledgeable on networking this is an awesome setup to have. Originally I plugged the UAP-AC-LITE into a EdgeRouterX but after power issues I upgraded to the Security Gateway which is a much better experience. Installed the UniFi software on my Macbook Air, it found and provisioned both, and I was up and running. Once it was configured I now only run the UniFi software when there's a need to check the system. This is enterprise grade with well considered management options and monitoring through an intuitive interface (four WiFi networks, customizable guest web page, deep packet inspection…) Great performance thus far, and with the UAP-AC-LITE using PoE I can have it on UPS while placing it anywhere there is an Ethernet port, like tucked behind the TV 🙂 Now looking to invest in a Cloud key (an independent little box to run the UniFi software) and a UniFi switch (to give more PoE). I love the AC Lite. I've got about 25 wireless devices and it handles them all just fine covering 1250 square feet. I bought mine in 2019 and it came with a 24v power over Ethernet (POE) adapter. I am now powering the AP via POE pass-through from port 8 of a US-8 switch running POE from a Unifi switch in my basement connected to a USG-Pro. I re-used the Ethernet wire from basement to first floor that my U-Verse used to use, installed the Unifi controller software on my PC, and followed the directions in the manuals with a little Googling. This AP covers the entire house including providing 5 GHZ signal to my Ring doorbell. I did have some issues with my laptop showing connected but no Internet every day, but found that by manually assigning the 5 GHZ channel that the AC Lite wouldn't use a channel used by radar and drop off. I think the AUTO channel setting would also resolve it. The Ubiquiti online forums are a great trove of information for the technology enthusiast wanting to run a solid, business-grade network in their home or office. I would definitely recommend this product to others. I'm a fan of Ubiquiti products and they have even stepped up their game in recent years, making their products truly disruptive in price vs. performance. Some consider the UAP-AC-LITE "prosumer" grade, and that describes my application perfectly. I'm not an IT professional; I have these deployed in a residential SOHO environment. The consumer-grade garbage that your ISP provides (i.e. ONE magic box for modem/router/switch/wirelss-AP) is junk; they barely suffice at all in larger homes. That's where these UAP-AC-LITES save the day. They excel! It's hard to imagine how anyone would be disappointed with the UAP-AC-LITE. Ubiquiti does offer several up-scale models (LR, PRO, HD) with more features, but the price-point of these LITE's is superb. If you take the plunge like I did and buy into the full set-up with the Unifi Controller (router, switch, CK, AP), a whole new world opens up and you will leave the dingy days of consumer grad WiFi behind you forever. And in the end, the cost is on par (or even cheaper) then mesh solutions like Google Wifi, Orbi, Eero, Lyra, Luma, Plume, Velop, Amplifi, etc. There is a good reason why large establishments (hotels, conference centers, business, etc.) don't run ONE giant powerful centralized WiFi access point; because it's dumb. You need multiple access points on larger properties (including many homes). WiFi ranges is limited not only by the AP, but by the clients connected to them (your iPhone, laptops, IoT devices, etc.). Therefore, the most power centralized AP in the world is not going to suffice for iPhones two floors up and 4 rooms over. The only reason for the four (4) star rating, instead of 5 stars, is the small fiasco with Ubiquiti's handling of the model-number/hardware change of the 802.3af compliance issue. They adopted within our existing environment in seconds and were fully deployed in under 10 minutes. They are much faster than previous models also. I replaced the 2nd generation AP-AC-Pro with this 6th generation AP. This also use a Qualcomm chip IPQ5018/AP-MP03.1-C2, two ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l) CPU, 1GB RAM and 4GB storage. The single U6-Pro installed in the garage and covers the whole house using a "medium" signal strength and about 20 WiFi devices. I was torn between the U6-Pro and the Aruba AP22. The AP22 has better 2.4 GHz performance, and arguably a more robust, stable firmware. But I am not keen on the Aruba cloud managed only AP software idea. So far, everything just worked on the U6-Pro, it runs cool and works reliably so far for weeks.metadata
The access point is fine, solid design and all the parts required to mount it to any type of fixture. It performs as expected, except for using the Ubiquiti controller. This was a hair pulling awful experience that took two hours to get the AP to be adopted by a fresh install of the controller. It doesn't matter how great the AP is if you can't get it configured. This ap has great build quality with plastic and metal construction, adopted quickly with my unifi network controller and works flawlessly with my other unifi wifi 5 aps, you can still roam between wifi 6 aps and wifi 5 aps with no hesitation. The software interface allows for deep control of the ap. Been using Ubiquiti UAP for years. The newest AC release is a great step forward. The older UAP's diminished speeds on some networks but the throughput on these devices is close to ethernet speeds (in preliminary testing). Was not paying enough attention to realize that the 5 pack does not include the Passive POE Injectors. You will need to order them separately or purchase the Ubiquiti Switch that has POE sensor for the proprietary passive injectors on these devices. The LITE version does not conform to 802.3af standard.James
I work for a church and we were looking for something to replace our old home router setup. The connection we had with our old setup was unreliable and the coverage was uneven. We purchased the 5 pack to fix this problem. Ever since we installed these routers into our AP points in the ceiling, I haven't had to touch it. Setup was super easy, and the UniFi Controller is very convenient to have so you know whats down or who is using which router. Connection is great, and the coverage is so strong it goes outside to the parking lot. More than satisfied! One thing to note for the 5 pack, you will need to purchase the PoE injectors separately. They don't have the biggest range, and four buildings with a lot of metal it could cause The usable range to be even lower. We utilize the Unifi AC Mesh indoor/outdoor access points across our property and have been pleased with the operation of the hardware. Using a UDM-Pro to manage the access points as well as the internet connection has been a much needed upgrade from our old, aging Wi-Fi system. Adopting devices works well and we were even able to utilize one AP in mesh mode to reverse-feed other APs that were on cable mode for a separate building.Joe
Like everything else in the UniFi lineup, this access point has been nothing but rock solid and easy to set up. It works great to expand wifi coverage to my backyard, since the wifi signal inside my house doesn't make it reliably outside. I can't comment on the mesh functionality since I have it connected via Cat 6 outdoor ethernet cable to a Ubiquiti US-8-60W switch inside the house, so it's just acting like an access point rather than a mesh network. It is also connected outside to a Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 surge protector (in the picture, which I need to ground), and a second ETH-SP-G2 on the outside of the house, where the ethernet cable goes into the house (grounded). The access point and surge protector is mounted under my deck, on one of the support pillars. My only negative feedback is the mounting options. While the access point comes with a few different options (pole mount, wall mount, and antenna mount), the mount that I was going to use (wall mount) doesn't look like it has a way to detach the access point too easily. I first mounted it to the Ubiquiti Universal Antenna Mount (UB-AM), but the antenna mount was overkill for one little access point and the surge protector, so I ended up returning that. I like the antenna mount that comes with the access point, which I ultimately used, since it has a tab you push to detach the access point from the mount. I intend to remove the access point during the winter, since I'm not in my backyard much then (living in Colorado). So I ended up drilling a couple of small screw holes in the middle of the antenna mount, which has worked well.Nathan
Once I got the WiFi extender up and running, it’s been working great. I’ve been having a lot of problems with my Xfinity router’s WiFi signal going up just one floor in my 3-floor townhouse. My Firestick and my wireless printer were constantly dropping off the network. Most disheartening is the fact that the printer is on the same floor as the router but in a different room. Getting the WiFi extender online was counterintuitive and poorly documented. The instructions told me to download an app to manage the WiFi controller. What the instructions didn’t tell me was: – I need to create an account with UniFi – when setting up a stand-alone WiFi extender, you do not need to configure or log into a Controller – stand-alone devices are configured from the “utilities” section of your profile within the app. – if using this device for personal use, you need two Ethernet cables as you likely do not have a Power over Ethernet switch Once I figured out everything above, getting it set up was a breeze. The access point comes with a plug-in power supply which has a PoE port to the antenna. The mounting equipment is simple and sturdy and I was able to mount the power supply and antenna into drywall with my pocket knife. If you have rudimentary networking experience, I highly recommend this powerful wireless access point. If you don’t know anything about network configuration, you may want to look for something more user-friendly. The “plug and play” feature on the box is a bit misleading if you intend to use it as a stand-alone instead of part of a mesh.Richard M.

This is my my second Ubiquiti UniFi Access Point. Can't get more then 60 Mbps speed out of it. While this is adequate, I was expecting more. No it is not my other equipment or internet provider. Wireless = 60 Mbps, wired 215 Mbps on the speed test with same computers. Tried everything I could and did research online etc. Nothing works. Disappointing but adequate performance. At first setup I had this unit in my office 5 ft away from my laptop, 60 Mbps. also tested with other laptops and same laptop at other end of house 50 ft away through walls, a bit less then 60 Mbps. Finally after much research and trying tons of stuff with settings and every possible thing, Just gave up. 60 Mbps and that is it. If you want to go faster buy another brand of equipment. I will next time for a wireless unit. Still think Ubiquiti makes good stuff, this unit just does not work as advertised concerning speeds.Robert
This thing is huge. It's the size of a dinner plate, and it glows blue when you've finished setting it up. If you have a Ubiquiti network at home or in your office, and you need to extend it, this is a great device for the job. If you're looking for a wireless router, this is not what you need. It has no DHCP, routing, or firewall functionality. This is a device that extends your network from the cables to the air, and is configured via the excellent web-based UniFi Network Controller. As with most Ubiquiti gear, this thing gets its power over Ethernet. You don't need a PoE switch to use it, though, since a PoE injector is provided in the box. This device, combined with a UniFi Dream Machine, covers every corner of my property with Wi-Fi. The UniFi Network Controller tells me which access point my devices are using and, no matter which one they're connected to, the experience is great. Mobile phones, tablets, and Chromecasts can stream videos from any source without any buffering or stuttering. The overall coverage is pretty close to that of Ubiquiti's AmpliFi HD mesh system, but the performance is much better.
I recommend this product in the Unifi environment to those with technical networking skills. If you have only basic networking skills, you may get up and running quickly in the Unifi environment and find a learning curve each time you add new security features, as you learn to tune your WiFi environment, etc. Networking is a complex technical subject and this is essentially commercial equipment. However, due to cost, it has a home market. Most people who use it at home also have worked in the computer industry in a technical capacity. So your community support can be most helpful and I think it is a great, hands-on way learn, but the less technical background you possess the greater the learning curve opportunity and time to get things done. There are also quite a few online. How-to articles and videos from the vendor and the community. While the controller is the heart and strength of the Unifi line, it is a work in progress. I could wish it was more complete. The product wish list is long, but much of their wish list is for preference or improvements to existing features. New features sometimes have workarounds. Ubiquiti is actively adding features, bug fixes and security features. Most of the wish list will be of little or no importance to you. Of what is important, it may show up in a release in the next 3 months, year or several years. It depends on perceived need and difficulty. If the Unifi controller can do something, it is probably a lot easier to do than the old way. Sometimes it does not do something and the workaround is the old way. That is why you are best off with this product if you are a techie and a tinkerer. If not consider buying a router for the home market.RUSSELL H.

I've been using various UniFi gear over the past 4 years and have been pretty happy with their functionality. I bought these new mesh AP's to upgrade to dual band and take advantage of the latest technology. They seem to work well when you can get them to connect, but their range is much less than the UniFi Outdoor+ AP's we were using. The old radios had no problem connecting across the 125' distance between units – however, the mesh AP's have only internal antennas and cannot make the connection easily if at all. And, there is no way to connect an external antenna upgrade – bummer. Basically, I cannot use two of the five units I purchased because they cannot "see" each other even though the old units had no issues doing so. So, in my opinion these will work fine as along as your grid/mesh has them no more than 75' to 100' apart with clear line-of-sight connectivity. Otherwise, find something else.Kelly
Provides great outdoor coverage. It is mounted to the outside of our house and we now have wifi coverage over an area of a couple acres. It also provides wifi inside our metal barn from the house that is about 100 yards away. Setup was very simple but I did already have an indoor AP and unifi controller.Tim
I needed a UAP-AC-Pro but those are on eternal backorder it seems. This has more Tx power and better range for only a little more money. I was installing in the basement so the extra size was not an issue. If you are using it outside the size won't really matter. If you want to use it inside be sure to take the size in to consideration.Robert

Great product, easily integrated with my AC-Pro. No wireless dead spots in my house anymore. I have added 2 of the in-wall units easily fitted into my existing RJ45 wall plates. I have over 35 smart wi-fi light switches and other smart devices around the house, these 2 in-wall plates made a big difference due to the dual band support. I used TP-Link TL-SG1005P 5-Port Gigabit Unmanaged PoE Switch, 4-Port PoE (Max 56W) for the PoE for the in-wall units. Brilliant ProductShankar S.
This unit is what got me interested in the Ubiquiti Unifi networking products due to how simple & practical it is! Super easy to set up & get running. Simply run an ethernet cable from a PoE switch/Injector, to an in-wall flush box (can re-purpose an existing power outlet), plug it in to the AP, & mount the AP to the flush box. DONE. I've used both data ports on this AP to connect non PoE gear with no issues & the Wi-Fi coverage is good for half a house if needed. I absolutely recommend these to anyone who needs a couple of extra network points or wireless coverage. it's a true 2-in-1 unit!James M.
Over priced and have had to buy 5 units and a hub to get coverage over the house. Once all installed the network coverage is good. Not everyone will have an internal wired network in there house. If you dont i recommend buying a cheaper wifi booster instead.

Setup with the mobile app works, you just don't know why. There is no configuration possible with the mobile app, just the name of the network, user and password. The management software is utterly useless, it won't even install on Mac's without tricks because of missing vendor certificate. Once installed, it won't work unless you build some type of management platform that requires other networking hardware. The AP itself works flawlessly, with speeds as advertised. Unless you connect many of these AP's to one giant network, I'd recommend to choose a simpler product for home use. This one here is more for commercial applications.
