Best Vacuum Cleaner For Tile Floors And Carpet (2025 Update)

Just bought myself an early Christmas present, the crosswave pro pet multi surface vac/mop. Really amazing how it cleans up, you see/feel/smell the difference instantly. I have health issues so sweeping/mopping is a challenge for me and i needed an easy option that worked. I have multiple cats and this is amazing with cat fur/dried up hairballs/cat litter etc, the fact that it separates all the icky stuff from the clean water makes the biggest difference…you will be in shock how much gets ckeaned up. Now this beautiful household tool needs care in between using it but i like the finished product so much i don't mind the clean up after and still easier then sweeping and mopping with way better results, plus i just put it up on my counter for easy access for the clean up. Tips: 1) don't use with a wet filter, always put a dry filter in. 2) get a baby tooth brush to get in small crevasse. 3) sweep out corners or hard to reach spots into where it can be vacuumed because this machine cant get to them. 4) i didn't get cordless because i don't want to deal with future batterie issues (not saying it happens but more likely then a cord) put top of cord on hook as you vacuum, easier to control cord dosen't get in your way. 5) clean spray holes if needed with paper clip. 6) make sure if you are dumping dirty water or cleaning off in the sink you have a drajn catcher because pet fur and gunk gets everywhere, you'll see as you are clean everything off and dumping water out, don'twant that going down your drain. 7) go slow when spraying the water, give wet vac mop a chance to do its thing. 8) make sure everything is dry b4 you put back together so no mold or smells start to happen. Like i mentioned, if you take care of this it will continue to take care of your floors and rugs. Ps: Not paid to write this, just a regular human. I paid for my crosswave and i really love it. No love is as great as the first, as they say. I bought this last year but after taking it to a friends house and power washing and vacuuming their entire 2 bedroom apartment for 5 hours straight for 2 days in a row, i think i mightve found the breaking point of this product… Haha, so after it wouldnt turn on, i returned it. I ended up going through 3 other new vacuums and returned them all, only to repurchase this as the 5th one. As i mentioned in the previous review for the Bissell Proheat Duo Pet vacuum, this one here was the absolute perfect size for a 5'3 girl living in a small apt. Its great in smler spaces and even if the suction is not as powerful as the Proheat Duo vacuum, this one does a good enough job for the size and its ease of use cant be beat. Cleaning it is suuuuuuper easy, refilling the water is super easy, and all i gotta do is just press a maximum of 2 buttons. (Meanwhile the pro heat duo has me feeling like an airplane technician, after having to take out a bunch components to clean it which was NOT easy and having so many buttons!!!) Im a bit OCD with vacuuming my carpet all the time (every day) and im always very pleased with the carpet cleaning after i wash it. Overall its been the best model i have found for a Wet/Dry vacuum so i highly recommend if its for a 1 bedroom apt. My only gripes are that this is not easy to push!!! Also wish it could suction better when going BACKWARDS because it only suctions good moving forward but not if i pass over it backwards and if the suction would be stronger too. Honestly haven’t had any major complaints about the vacuum. We do have kids so we use it probably every other day to 2 days. It’s a compact vacuum which is a plus. The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

With only limited use so far: I love this vacuum. It is self propelled when the brush is on, very powerful suction and great dust containment. The roller tends to wad up my throw rugs on the back pull, but will continue to look for a way to address that. I would change: NEEDS more and better on board attachment holders. I have the crevice tool in the holder and it tends to fall off. Plus no way to carry/store the other great attachments. Love the long cord!Dana

I bought this particular vacuum because I had used one at a friends's. I ordered mine on June 23rd and received it the next day! I was so excited! Three days later my friend called and said not to get the vacuum because her battery stopped charging and she had only had it for 4 months! Well, I kept mine thinking hers was a fluke but nope! After 4 1/2 months, my battery has stopped charging! I have tried to call the 1-800 number but it keeps saying "due to weather" they are closed and to call back. IF someone has any suggestions about what to do, please let me onow. I reallly liked this vacuum when it worked. Everything about was great….except now, the battery!Sad DRB in Florida

I've had many vacuums over the years and this is the worst. I extensively research items before I buy them to be sure they have the features I'm looking for, which is why I chose this product. If I could send it beck, I would. The dust cup disconnects from the handle regularly and already I've lost suction. It completely disconnects and falls apart with very little handling. It doesn't "prop up" on anything in my house like it says it should. Eureka is a good brand and I've had other stick vacs but this is awful.Jo

When I unpackaged my Eureka Rapid Clean pro, my first thought that it was too light weight and didnt look like it could handle much nor would the battery big long enough to make it around my house. I will say that I own a Kirby, Dyson, and no this Eureka so I have quite a bit to compare it to. Style wise it was similar to my Dyson V6 but not nearly as heavy. Super easy to assemble- I didnt even bother reading the instructions. I charged it up and took it around the house. Lucky for this review we are renovating our home so there is plenty of dust from hanging, texturing, and sanding drywall, 60 year old insulation fluff in and on everything and every corner and much more. I've been using my Dyson primarily before I received this just because its easier to grab- the Eureka Rapid Pro is MUCH lighter and just as easy to cart around. I LOVE that the head of the vacuum seems to sit really low to the ground where my other stick vacuum is a little higher and tends to grab things that are "too big" for it to handle and thus just shoot it out of the back- this Eureka is low enough that it doesnt really grab what it can't handle. I also love the extra wheels on the head allowing for REALLY nice range of motion.. and the LIGHT! Never thought a light on the head of a cordless vacuum would come in so handy but its life changing! I could SEE where the dust was under the bed and go where I needed and be done rather than just aimlessly moving it around and hoping I got what I needed to. Lastly- the battery life was wayyyy longer than my Dyson. I even used it- LET IT UNPLUGGED for a few days, used it again and left it unplugged again and used- that to me is amazing for a small stick vacuum. All in all- this is definitely a little machine with a big presence! Thank you!Anna

Since there is nothing else like this tool on the market, I'll have to fairly review it by comparing it to a traditional mop and bucket. There are pros and cons for both. While I'm not typically one to invest heavily in a machine that just simply provides an electric way to do a simple manual job, this HydroVac offers so much more. The rotating antimicrobial roller mimics repeatedly going over the floor surface with minimal movement by the operator. No difficult scrubbing to get a higher level of clean. The cleaning formula was effective and I felt most powerful when mixed with warm filtered water. Dried on sticky foods came up easily and filled my home with a really nice scent. Where I would prefer a mop and bucket is when I was rinsing all of the tanks out: the solution tank and the dirty water tank. With a mop and bucket, I just dump and rinse. However, the cleaning power of this HydroVac cannot be matched! I did find that the HydroVac did really well sucking up along edges on the side of the unit but not from the front, so I wish I made a better effort sweeping before using this vac. At the end of the day, for an investment, you can get a better clean. In fact, I would recommend my friends with disabilities give this appliance a try as it allowed me to do a task that requires physical exertion with much less demand on my body.Michelle Y.

I've wanted one of these combo vac/mops ever since the Bissell Crosswave came out, but it was hard to justify the expense. I was also not sure about having to deal with cleaning a machine like this after use. After saving up some BBB gift cards, I finally bought this Shark Hydrovac after watching the Vacuum Wars youtube review, and I am so glad I did! My hardwood floors have never been cleaner! I live in a messy house with 3 kids, 2 cats, Georgia red clay in the backyard and no one but me will take off their shoes when they come in. This machine got my floors as clean as if I had hand washed them on my hands and knees. It passed the paper towel test – for the first time ever after using all kinds of different mops (steam mop, microfiber spray mop, regular mop head with spin bucket, etc), my floors actually did not show any dirt when wiped with a wet paper towel after mopping them with the Hydrovac. Also, it left NO streaks or haze! I've tried all sorts of products to get my floors cleaned and nothing left them looking this good. And cleaning the machine afterwards was no big deal at all – definitely not any more time involved than dealing with mop buckets and mop heads. The only downside is that it does not fit to clean under the kickboard of the kitchen cabinets, and the edge cleaning could be better – it leaves about a half inch around edges untouched…but I don't care because it got the rest of my floors so totally clean that I'm happy to overlook that small downside. Also, I had to refill the water tank before I finished mopping (I mop my foyer, half bath, 2 hallways and kitchen.) The floors dry unbelievably fast – it seems like it squeegees the floor with each pass to get up almost all the water used. It didn't do much to clean my area rug; it just picked up surface dirt but didn't do anything to remove marks on the rug. But I think it is still nice that I can go over area rugs with it as I'm cleaning my hardwoods and get all the surface dirt all at once. It's lightweight, and I think something that my kids could handle using easily. Regarding the Shark brand cleaner, the smell is not overpowering. I'm sensitive to scents and this didn't bother me. If this review seems over the top, I promise, it's not a paid review. I saved up to buy it and I am absolutely thrilled with it!Sally

This is a fantastic way to keep multiple floor surfaces clean. I tried this on a couple looped wool throw rugs and it did a great job cleaning without harming the rug fibers. The roller is a very soft micro fiber type material that gently rotates and gently cleans. It applies a small amount of cleaning solution the is supplied with the vacuum and sucks it all up leaving a very light dampness. It doesn't thoroughly soak the carpet but instead is more of a surface cleaning. you can easily see how much dirt is being picked up in the water being vacuumed up. It's a good idea to vacuum before using the wet vac. There is no danger of harming the floors beneath the rug because the vacuum completely picks up all of the moisture being used. I like the way it cleans the rugs but I think it works best on hard surfaces. The lighted brush assembly makes it easy to see the surface being cleaned and again it only leaves a slightly damp surface that dries quickly. There is no puddling of cleaning solution. The water compartments are easily disassembled and easily cleaned. The self cleaning feature is handy and works well and only takes 2 minutes. This is only a wet vac and not for dry vacuuming at all. I have several Shark products and I love them all and this is no exception. I highly recommend it.cdubs58

I have an older, corded Dyson which is still a workhorse. But since it is quite heavy and I am older, I can no longer easily carry it up and down stairs. So this corded one now stays upstairs which is carpeted, and the V12 Detect Slim is perfect for downstairs which is all tile/hardwood. I have 2 very fluffy cats which shed a lot – constantly – and will sometimes scatter litter when covering their waste. I tried another stick vacuum which was great for about a year, but then started dropping the litter back down and out onto the floor again so this was frustrating and useless. Back to Dyson and so far so very good. The one small feature that helped me finally make the choice of the V12 Detect Slim is the "on/off" button over the trigger in the other models. I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and the trigger would probably not be comfortable for me. I also love the laser attachment to find all the litter scatter pieces that are not easily seen but certainly are felt by bare feet. I've only had this vacuum for a short while and have not tried all of the attachments yet but am hopeful that my furniture will be cleaner of cat hair just as my floors seem to be. Yes, the dust bin is small, but it's so easy to detach and empty I don't find that to be an issue for me. As long as the V12 Detect slim keeps holding the litter in this bin, I will keep singing its praises. I also bought the standing Dok and love this. Would just like a holder of some sort to attach to the stand for holding more of the attachments. So, considering how well my older, corded vacuum has performed and continues to perform, I'm hopeful for similar performance from the V12 Detect Slim.SueD12

I was very excited to get the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, especially since I have had such great experiences with other Dyson products. Packaging and assembly with a breeze pretty self explanatory. I was impressed from the start with how lite it was, which made is very convenient for the stairs in our house. It was easy enough for the kids to carry around and use too, which is always a plus! I found it fairly easy to use for over head tasks too. I liked that it only has a single button power control. The LCD screen is probably my favorite feature. It shows you what has been lifted on the different surfaces, it is clear and easy to understand. In fact at one point it wasn’t functioning properly and the LCD screen told me what the problem was right away and I was able to fix it right away. I love that I didn’t have to trouble shoot it and take the whole thing apart to figure out the problem. It came with some neat attachments, the fluffy yellow and purple roller that is perfect for our wooden and tile floors, it had no problem fitting under our dining table and coffee table, this saved me time from having to move the furniture around. It comes with a wall dock that provides a way to easily store all the components while charging it as well. It included a neat hair screw tool, the allows you to pick up pet hair making pet spaces easy and fast to keep clean. They have a new design on the motorbar which helps to detangle long hair, eliminating the need for me to take it apart to cut out tangled hair like I have had to with other vacuums. You can select from the three cleaning modes depending on what job you are tackling. The waste bin is super easy to empty, simply point it in the trash can and push the lever to release the dirt. It is quick and straight to the point and I didn’t have to tough anything so my hands never got dirty. I love that it gives you 60 minutes of charge unlike previous machines that gave my around 20 minutes, also I found that the battery did a great job of holding the charge even when it was not in use or plugged in. The only “con” I would say I found was that if you doing a bigger job like cleaning more that a few rooms at a time, you have to stop and empty out the bin more often perhaps because it is a smaller unit but if you don’t mind that it really isn’t an issue. I have 3 (now 4) Dyson vacuums, I have the Airwrap and it is so awesome I wanted to try their other products. I purchased my first used D6 from eBay, I wanted to try one to see if it worked as well as it was claimed. I liked it but wanted a newer so I gave that one to my son and saved up and went with the V10 model (which I still have and still love), I then purchased the canister (refurbished) for deep cleaning items like furniture because the V10 would only go about 30 minutes and that was frustrating to me. I wanted something with a swappable battery but did not want to spend another $600 so when the small one (Omni Glide) came out I got it from Best Buy and found some extra attachments on ebay for it (mini motorized tool) and that one was excellent for day to day and my car, the battery lasts forever and is swappable, but I never needed a second for that one. My daughter borrowed it (she cleans houses) and she loved it so I let her keep it and found this one, which is in the middle of the 2 I have. I think the laser might send my OCD into overdrive because it showed everything on the floor when it looks clean without it. It is crazy how much dust it shows. I am glad I can turn it off if I choose, but I have not done that. IMO this is the best of the 5 I have tried. The battery seems to last, but it is swappable so when they are available I will be buying an extra. But so far I am using eco mode mostly and the battery lasts longer than I expected. The suction even on eco is better than my D10, my D10 does not suck up the throw rugs, but this one does. I wish I could adjust the suction to lower for this reason but all around this is a great cordless. I like the power switch because it makes it easier when using some of the attachments, not having to hold the trigger, but I am torn as I also like the trigger switch and miss it a little.M00nbeam

Would be a great vacuum for someone with a small home, they only use this on. I’m not a fan of it because I used it for about 2 weeks and it seriously lost suction in that time. I have to clean it after EVERY room and make sure the filter is perfectly clear for it to have just a bit of the suction it started with. Hopefully I just received a dud and it’s not like this for everyone else who purchases it. I do love the size and convenience of this vacuum, it’s very portable and rolls very easily across any floor, I also love that the attachment is already on the handle and all you have to do is pull it down to use it. It would be great for someone who doesn’t have pets and won’t use it as often as I do.Ashley

The suction for this vacuum cleaner is terrible. It's ok if you want to do a little light cleaning on floors. Not worth the money you pay. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. A waste of money an time using it.Cynthia

My belief – this is a good vacuum which will work well for some. The problem I had is 'inadequate attachments' need for versatility.. It really gives you a rather klutzy poor design floor-rug tool. It needs a robust brush tool with bristles for hard surface floors. The one it has is more 'a small strip with ting bristles that keep it from scratching the floor The floor brush' tool needs to be more substantial and with a robust brush. It has no upholstery or crevice tools it has an inadequate tool that is tiny brush tool. The receptacle tank for the dirt is quite small. I suspect it was this way so that it enhances a more powerful suction action but I am not an engineer to know this. It would help to have a bigger tank. I could not adapt the many attachments I already have from many Vacuums I have because pipe size is unique to this vacuum. I have used an older Eureka The Boss Mighty Mite. It was a terrific powerful vacuum with the normal attachments. Eureka is still a trusted maker and I wished it had the attachments I must have for a more versatile useJames

Out of the box, the vacuum was great. Sucked up everything. Within a month, it was basically a glorified hand vacuum. The only way I can get it to do anything is to use remove the hose and the attachments. The actual suction when using it upright is terrible. It vibrates like a dolphining F1 race car, makes a hideous popping and hissing sound from the side, and worst of all, leaves fuzz, dirt , and giant hard balls of lint all over my floors rather than actually cleaning them. Using this vacuum is more work than simply using a broom and a hand held dirt Devil. Customer service was helpful in trying to fix the issues but the suggested solve didn't work. The vacuum is a lemon…complete waste of the time and money spent.Card Lady

It does quality performing for pet hair to include the turbo extension tool for upholstery. DO READ ALL the instructions so you know how to properly use it. Don't assume! The tools are ill placed with the placement and storage of the electrical cord (always falling off). The telescope for the hose to attachments doesn't lock properly and always ALWAYS pushing back in. I don't have an issue with pet hair on the roller getting stuck, but I do with human hair and any amount of length to trash. The spot where the hose connects to the canister is constantly getting clogged because it is small and narrow, needs to be wider. Pay CLOSE attention when taking the filter out of the canister and putting it back; there is a reason it is meticulously marked. The alignment must be perfect or it won't go back together properly; this is the same for everything on the vacuum. Hard to push when vacuuming (hence one of the reasons I said to read instructions carefully)? You have to provide some air to release the amount of suction, so it moves easier with the little knob on the left; by the way, it moves also on its own.feltermail

Within 1 minute of its' first use this model #2475 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo had its' brush roll stop spinning before a small 10×10 foot area was complete. The belt assembly is centre mounted so debris from both sides of the brush roll collects towards its' centralized belt motor which sits open with nothing to protect it from debris. This results in it being the furthest thing from the "tangle free" unit it is advertised as. Removal of the head screws holding the bottom cover in place is quite easy so I was able to see what was causing the jam (see picture attached). The manufacturer claims the unit can accept hair length of 4-8 inches. The longest of the hairs in this pictures is 3 inches, so the job in question should have been well within the manufacturer's guidelines. Upon reassembling the base the unit promptly got jammed a second time. After once again removing the clog I decided to give it a different task, cleaning hardwood. This unit has a key feature for those with hardwood floors, its' brush can turn on/off, saving your hardwood from being scratched by the roller. Sadly there is very little suction (see video attached). I found without the brush roll spinning the machine picks up essentially nothing. The last major feature this unit is its' heavily marked "pet hair eraser" attachments. The Pet Turbo Eraser" is nothing more than the same "turbo brush" or "handi-mate" that has been commonplace on vacuum's since the 1950's. The "two in one" pet brush is a traditional fabric brush as is the crevice tool. There is nothing fundamentally different with these attachments than what is industry standard from most vacuum suppliers. I've had Bissell units before, the last being the significantly cheaper "Clearview Alergen Lift-Off Pet Upright Vaccuum." It lasted 2 years before dying a few weeks after its warranty expired precipitating the purchase of this Turbo model. All in all a poor vacuum. Don't buy this.Jimmy

I bought this Oreck XL Commercial floor sweeper as a brand-new backup unit for an existing Oreck Xl home vac that I bought back in the 1990's. The original one still works just fine and the only maintenance it has ever required, other than bag changes, was a single drive belt replacement. The Oreck XL is a workhorse floor/carpet sweeper! And, the best part is that I recently got this brand-new one for $200, which is less than half of the price I paid for my original Oreck XL, back in the 1990's. The Oreck XL Commercial vacuum is light in weight (8 pounds). The low profile makes it incredibly easy to slide underneath a bed (you can even store it under there, between uses). It has a very comfortable ergonomically-designed handle with readily accessible on/off control switch. Each vacuum bag is top-loading and holds an incredible amount of debris. The filter bag is easy to change, is reasonably priced, and prevents any sneeze-producing dust from ever escaping the vac during use.vintage-connections

5/15/19 I did a lot of research before I chose to get one of these. I found out that the motor is only a 4 amp motor and I wondered if that was going to be powerful enough to do a good job. (I knew the motor was very long lasting.). I figured that because the discharge bag downstream of the motor was so much larger then comprable vacuums, that there would not be much back pressure on the motor and so by design, you probably don't need such a powerful motor. I also figured, that if you design a vacuum cleaner right, why would you need a 10 11 12 amp motor? I like the fact that it had a good quality cord that you didn't have to bend over to wrap the cord up it had a big bag so you didn't have to constantly buy bags did it was durable, because it is what janitors use and hotels across the country. I also know that my carpet was not a shag carpet it was a lower carpet and it was a hardwood floor. So I figured I would buy it from Walmart and try it and if I don't like it I can get my money back. WOW!!! I am so impressed with this machine! It picks up like you would not believe everything and I love the fact that you don't need a motor that is so powerful it belongs on a saw to cut wood. I love not having all these gadget cheap accessories that falling off all the time. I love being able to get underneath stuff. I love the lightweight. I love the switch on the handle in case I suck up a sock or shoelace. so that I can shut the motor off before I burn up a belt. I love the fact there's a spare belt underneath. I love the heavy-duty cushioning around the motor housing. And I really like the way the brushes are set up the beater bars very well-designed very simple very rugged very durable. (I believe in keep it simple KISS.)! So what if it's a tad noisy. And the negative review the guy posted about not being able to get us handle tight……well…… Some people are just not the least bit mechanically inclined. I like it better than my Bissell, KenmoreJay

Our Princess vacuum just died. We have always had problems finding bags for it anyway… We received a used Oreck as a gift many years ago and it still runs and cleans super. We still wanted a second vacuum on the top level. Well, that was a no brainer. The Oreck is very lite and easy to maneuver. Best vacuum cleaning we have ever seen.Brian

I LOVE DYSON. It’s been a love affair for @15 or so years. I had the V-6 and made an excuse that college child needed so I could get the V-11animal. No one in my house were allowed to use. It WAS my baby – empty nester at the time. I bought it shortly after it first came out so it has the screwed in battery. I needed a cordless vacuum that was able to pick up Belgian Malinois Shepard fur from H _ _ _, easy to use, lighter than a full vacuum BUT WORK AS WELL OR BETTER than a full-size – I have chronic back pain and fibromyalgia and numbness… Yes in my crazy perfect vacuum dream world this existed and it DID! Thanks Dyson! It checked EVERY box of my needs, well except price. It was the most I have ever spent on something for me but dang it I deserved it and NEEDED it. It has been absolutely incredible! I would have told you 2 years ago do whatever you need to and buy bc it has incredible suction, awesome holders for tools with wall mount and on pole, adjustable suction on torque floor tool, adjust able power – Eco for low dirt area, Auto and Boost for deeper and stronger suction. So those are PROS. CONS are you need to press trigger to power it so with my neuropathy in hands at times I cannot vac, need to remove any attachments to empty dirt bin, after @8-12 months the bin empty slide started to stick, and then at 2 years (WARRANTY EXPIRED) and @5 months it started to shut off and then turn on. Called customer support and and they did a video troubleshoot and said it’s the battery. Well no battery in stock. Actually ABSOLUTELY ZERO SPARE PARTS for my baby have been in stock for over a month now! A week or so later it stopped more and then shut down. Called again and told it was the cyclone part (a guy on YouTube had same exact issue but his warranty was still active) BUT NO PART available. He told me to call or go to my nearest Dyson service center. Well the nearest in @1.25hrs. away. I do not have a car – getting divorced so I took my Dyson V11 animal and he got our 25 y/o car worth about the same. He fought for my V11 which was honestly a no win – I don’t know what he was thinking. Lol Plus the service center when I finally reached a person said that maybe it’s the trigger and I could mail it in. I still haven’t decided bc why pay to ship something that there’s no parts for? I rarely ever leave reviews but this thing is great! This is my first Dyson purchase and I have a German Shepard mix who sheds constantly, this V11 handles his hair with ease. I love the flexibility to use it anywhere with the attachments that are included, my personal favorite is the mini motorized tool. The simple design makes it easy to clean and maintenance. This thing picks up dirt that you don’t even see, especially in carpets and area rugs. I am also one who cares about packaging and this thing is packaged perfectly. The only downside, like all electronics is the battery life. 5 to 6 minutes on boost mode is not enough for a vacuum of this cost. I would like to see Dyson sell an additional king power cord that can be used to power the vacuum directly more like a traditional vacuum if needed for those of us with bigger houses with lots of carpeted areas.Jxustin

After reading these reviews I can't help but think that these machines are designed to last for roughly 2.5 years. My machine did the exact same thing that others have written about. I purchased this machine back in January 2020, about a month ago it started cutting off during use. The cutting off started getting more frequently to the point where the machine stays on for about 2 seconds before cutting off which makes it inoperable. So I call the service center to be told that my machine is out of warranty as of January 2022 and a replacement motor will cost $116. It is really unfortunate that a $700 machine is designed to last 2.5 years before you have to put more money into it. The sad part about it is that most people will pay the $116 because you can not get a new decent vac for that price and secondly, you have already invested $700 in this machine. It is very disheartening, and I wish I would have went with a different brand.Trise

I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. Hard to argue with the price, as I got this for 90 on Home Deliveries USA they had a 60 coupon you could click. I helped my parents get a much nicer one, but I needed to save the money and knew I was sacrificing some capabilities, particularly after helping them set theirs up. This thing gets the job 80% done. No mapping capabilities so it doesn’t track its location. Pretty sure the charging base uses radio frequency communication, which the robot only reads once within about 5-7 feet. You can see it realizes it’s finally near it, and then it tries to line itself up. Vacuum power is a little weak and misses items such as cat litter on hard floors pretty easily. Without a roller brush, the vacuum is going to miss things here and there. It’s also very basic programming, and will struggle to get back to its base. It will even knock it’s own base around during cleaning and sometimes make it impossible to get back to its base, so you’ll want to adhere it to the floor. I have a U shaped apartment, and if it ever ends its cleaning cycle in the opposite side of the U, it has a long journey of bumps and confusion trying to find its way back to the charging base on the opposite side of the U. I also had to buy furniture risers rubber pads because if it could just barely fit under something, it would turn itself off. The power button is easy to press under furniture and then you have to find the bugger just sleeping under your couch, so add some adhesive bumpers around the power button, and that’s resolved. Although I was concerned it wasn’t doing much at all at first, I found during cleaning that it has a substantial amount of mess inside it’s tank, and cleaning the filters was fairly easy. Plus, when I get tired of it bumping around endlessly trying to find its base, which it eventually does most times, you can use the app as a remote controller, which is a critical feature in my opinion. If I want to ensure my bedroom is hit, I can drive it there first and then let.Matt

This machine seems to collect more dust, dirt, and hair in one use than my previous machine. It is very easy to empty the dust canister. I like having all the attachments stored ON the vacuum. I find it a little tricky to manuever because the vacuum base brush head is wide and wheels do not swivel. The turbo-brush tool for cleaning furniture is GREAT, but the hose is a little short & doesn't easily extend so I found that I had to move the machine a few times to vacuum the couch. I don't like having to remember to charge batteries before using a tool so I like having a machine with a cord. The CleanView® Vacuum Cleaner has a cord long enough to reach where I need to vacuum. The only thing I don't like is not being able to vacuum under the bed. The body of the Vacuum is too thick to slide inder furniture. Not sure how I'm going to get this job done without moving the bed. This is a draw back. Also I don't think I could ever use this machine to vacuum my stair case (back to the hand-held dustbuster for this). I chose this vacuum based upon my previous experience with another Bissell product. A few years ago we sold our house and moved into a motor home to travel the country with our German Shepard ( German Shedder). I gave up my Oreck XL 21for the house and bought a Bissell cordless upright for the motor home. With the " Shedder" , one must vac. daily. The little Bissell never failed to impress me, every use produced another dog in the canister. Once we settled into a home , I still used the cordless to chase dog hair but was looking for a unit with greater hair capacity. That's why I chose a Bissell above any other brand. It fits my need perfectly. I still use the cordless in its detachable hand held feature as a " bug sucker" here in the Midwest as all the crawling critters seek a winter home. If you have a furry pet or two, look at the Bissell line first, you won't be disappointed.Randy

I bought the Eureka Mighty Mite specifically because it was the cheapest vacuum cleaner with a bag that I could find. As such, it works. It is very cheaply made. The two straight sections that connect to the floor sweeper often come apart. The ring that increases or reduces suction on one of those sections is really hostile to fingers. Watch out. It took a bite out of the palm side of one of my fingers! But, the vacuum does function. If you need a cheap vacuum cleaner with a bag, it’s a very basic choice.Katherine

Warning! This is copied and pasted right off the Walmart description: "The Eureka Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum is versatile – while it does well on carpets or rugs, it is ideal for vacuuming bare floors, wood floors and tiles." When I put it together and started to vacuum, I realized you can't push the floor tool on carpet; all you can do is drag it toward you. There are no rollers on it. I called the customer service helpline and told them, and they said it wasn't meant for rugs, only bare floors. I read them the description above that said it does well on carpets or rugs, and on page 6 of the owner's guide it gave instructions for both bare floors and rugs. Then she said it was only for flat rugs. I had tried it on both flat rugs and one with medium pile. It was only slightly workable on the flat rugs. I was extremely disappointed. It has strong suction, so if all you have is bare floors, it would be okay. But don't buy it if you have any carpet at all.Melanie

I had hoped there would be a brush on the floor attachment and not just plastic. I was happy to find some sort of velcro strip that picks up rug stuff or bare floor dust balls. This was not mentioned in the list of the product. Otherwise, the suction was great, but had to keep the slide open, for not the maximum suction, as it was too strong! Also, not mentioned was the receiving of 2 bags, one inside and one separate to use. I still ordered 3 more separately as the local stores did not carry them. As a senior, I don't create lots of dust in my 700 sq.ft. apartment. Now to start on the brush attachment and do some fine dusting! Would be a great vacuum for someone with a small home, they only use this on. I’m not a fan of it because I used it for about 2 weeks and it seriously lost suction in that time. I have to clean it after EVERY room and make sure the filter is perfectly clear for it to have just a bit of the suction it started with. Hopefully I just received a dud and it’s not like this for everyone else who purchases it. I do love the size and convenience of this vacuum, it’s very portable and rolls very easily across any floor, I also love that the attachment is already on the handle and all you have to do is pull it down to use it. It would be great for someone who doesn’t have pets and won’t use it as often as I do.Ashley

My belief – this is a good vacuum which will work well for some. The problem I had is 'inadequate attachments' need for versatility.. It really gives you a rather klutzy poor design floor-rug tool. It needs a robust brush tool with bristles for hard surface floors. The one it has is more 'a small strip with ting bristles that keep it from scratching the floor The floor brush' tool needs to be more substantial and with a robust brush. It has no upholstery or crevice tools it has an inadequate tool that is tiny brush tool. The receptacle tank for the dirt is quite small. I suspect it was this way so that it enhances a more powerful suction action but I am not an engineer to know this. It would help to have a bigger tank. I could not adapt the many attachments I already have from many Vacuums I have because pipe size is unique to this vacuum. I have used an older Eureka The Boss Mighty Mite. It was a terrific powerful vacuum with the normal attachments. Eureka is still a trusted maker and I wished it had the attachments I must have for a more versatile useJames

This vacuum is the worst vacuum I have ever used. I had the Dyson upright and loved it, but when it was time to replace it we decided to try the canister, because we believed it would be more convenient. For starters, this vacuum does not have a power head, it is a suction head and so if the vacuum loses the slightest amount of suction the brush does not rotate. The hole which connects the floor attachment to the hose is slightly smaller than a marble so it constantly clogs. I have spent more time unclogging this vacuum than any other vacuum I've owned. This vacuum does not clean – it is a very expensive floor duster. We have cats so from time-to-time I will find small pieces of cat kibble on the floor – the vacuum does not pick it up. The list of things this vacuum does not pick up is seemingly endless, but here are a few examples: coffee grounds individual staples crushed egg shells, lint, small pieces of dried leaves in the fall small pieces of paper fine needles from artificial Christmas trees and garland bits of thread bits of wool dried flower petals tiny bits of mud from shoes I've tried vacuuming the cars with this vacuum, but it does not have the suction to pick up the tiny little pieces of lint that collect on the upholstery and floors. Basically, anything larger than sand or dust, this vacuum does not pick up. If you place the vacuum head right over the small item you are trying to vacuum up sometimes you will get lucky and it will pick it up, but if you vacuum up anything larger than a couple of pieces of cat food – the connection between the vacuum head and the hose gets clogged. I have had this vacuum since August 2018 and dread using it every time. I have unclogged it so many time the tip where you insert the screw driver to release the brush from the head is starting to wear. Last night I had enough of this over-priced, novelty item – I was decorating the house for Christmas and had remnants of artificial pine needles all over the floor – the vacuum clogged five times where the vacuum head attaches to the hose and twice where the hose attaches to the canister. After nearly 40 minutes of vacuuming and unclogging the vacuum, I finally dug our old $149 Canadian Tire Shark vacuum out of the storage room and had the floor clean in less than five minutes with no clogs. A $650 vacuum should at the very least be able to compete with a Canadian Tire $149 special. After the nightmare and waste of time I had last night trying to vacuum my living room – I finally had enough with this vacuum and I am dropping it off at the electronic recyclers. This was without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. I kept it for two years, because of the cost of it and I didn't want to throw away $650, but I literally cannot deal with this vacuum any longer. I really liked the Dyson upright – it was a bit heavy and cumbersome to use and it was very awkward to vacuum stairs, but it picked up everything I needed it to and it very, very rarely clogged. There is absolutely no comparison between the canister and the upright! I have called customer service and did all the trouble shooting tips, I washed the filter and then bought a replacement filter when that failed. If you have to vacuum more than dust from your floors – do not buy this vacuum. If you are insistent on purchasing a Dyson vacuum – go with the upright!NatalieF

This vacuum makes other vacuumes seem like garbage created in back alleys by neanderthals that started a vacuum business, like they're lies an imitation of vacuum technology. Stop wasting your money on hundred and something dollar vacuums every year or two and hating them the whole time as they don't really clean your floor cuz their suction never really sucked and you sit on the floor and unclog them all the time. Just buy this vacuum! they have a 14 day full refund return policy if you don't feel it is superior enough to be worth its price tag believe me it is. Check on price match. if it's not on sale haven't seen it for more than $100 off. Might think it's crazy to spend so much but it's that much better the other ones are crap made by tricky robbers. Sure it is an investment but you will be so blown away by the quality of how well it works I bet you won't return it and you'll see it as an investment because you know how the other ones just break so might as well invest and have it last for 5 years and enjoy your vacuuming experience. It looks like it's kind of big in the picture but it's not it's nice and Compact but has a big enough canister and it's got handles where it should and slots for everything and all the attachments you would need without going overboard secure don't fall off when you're not using them which has happened with the attachments on other vacuums quite annoying. I mean you will want to vacuum more if you have this vacuum you will want to clean your floor completely just to see it like clean stuff it is fun too use! It is bafflingly silent it is the quietest vacuum on the planet you could probably vacuum with this vacuum in the same room with a sleeping person and the person would not wake up. Almost forgot whenever you vacuum and you maybe vacuumed up something that might be a little larger such as a penny let's say and you know how you usually hear the penny kind of Slam around the corner is it goes in this literally doesn't Slam at all it just gets vacuumed in it doesn't sound like it's getting hit at all or damaging your vacuum in anyway which is very comforting the vacuum is doing its job not asking you to pre clean smaller items before you vacuum.Zeldarocks

I’ve had mine for three years and I love it as much as when I first got it. I have to say this works best for hardwoods or other hard flooring. I got one for my mom and her housekeeper said it hurt jar back but she used it for carpets. I wouldn’t recommend it for that. If they advertised it for wood floors I think it would have a rating of 5 stars. I have all hard flooring and it is fantastic. It basically dusts the floor with the rotary tool. It just glides behind me with little or no effort. It has so much reach. It cleans everywhere, cracks, corners, underneath the bed, ceiling fans. I can vacuum the house in no time. To me it is so much better than the stick vacs. You don’t have to hold the weight and you can do the entire house and never loose power. I would definitely recommend this for hard floors!!!LisaSt

I'm a big of fan of Shark Ninja products because while they're not the best in class devices out there, they tend to bring the most recent expensive tech down to affordable prices for the masses. Generally you're going to see there are some limitations or some scaled back features on the Shark gadgets but overall the functionality is similar if not the same or better than more expensive competitors. This Shark 3-in-1 Pro Vacuum XL is similar to my previous Shark experiences. I already have a Vacuum mop previously that I really enjoy so I wanted to compare the Shark version. Here's what I found. 1. The materials on the Shark are not as high quality or premium as the more expensive competitor which is to be expected. The lights and LED readouts are not as high-tech and the charging and cleaning base in particular was not as substantial feeling compared to my other unit. 2. The clean and dirty water containers on the Shark were much smaller, maybe 1/3rd the capacity of my other unit. Interestingly however, it didn't seem like it had that big of an impact on the actual ability to clean and how many times I had to change the water. It seems like the Shark uses less water for similar results which is nice since constantly changing the dirty water tank and adding more water is time-consuming. 3. The brush cleaning head removal and design is not as good on the Shark. My other unit is easy to remove from the side without having to mess with a plastic enclosure. It is also designed so that the roller can go right up to the edge of a cabinet or baseboard. 4. Overall battery life was really good, I was able to clean my kitchen floor on one charge with 1 bar left. For light cleanup duty this will work great. If you have dirty dried on stains or messes, make sure you pre-treat with either hot/warm water mopped on or some kind of spray cleaner like power wash and let it sit before you come back with the Shark. 5. The self-propelled functionality is excellent, maybe even better than my other more expensive unit. You can feel it pulling forward and when pulling back it doesn't give much or any resistance. Really a nice difference with and without self-propelled. Overall very pleased with the unit and if you use it regularly it is something that will make a big difference in keeping your floors clean. Pair it up with a robo vacuum and have that clean up the big bits off the floor first and you have a winning combo.TechBuyer

I love Shark products and I had high hopes for this HydroVac, as it has the potential for turning two jobs into one. We have used it several times and it's always the same result, doesn't pick up everything doesn't quite clean the floors. According to the helpful videos that were provided via QR code, the HydroVac should be able to pick up normal trash like pieces of candy, dirt debris, cereal like a normal vacuum would, this doesn't. With kids in the house and those literal things on the floor along with pet hair and normal dirt, it only picked up about half the dirt none of the candy, although it did rub the color off one piece. I would prefer to use the Shark robot to pick up the debris. I also don't feel that it does a great job with cleaning the floor, like a traditional mop would. It sort of just lightly washes it. I do love that it can clean the carpet somewhat, it's not a deep cleaner but it does clean and sanitize it to a degree. I do like that there are lights on it to help you see in areas that may be dark and I also love that it self cleans and that it's cordless. One the other side of that however, it's very noisy when in use and you really have to control it because it seems to go on it's own (has quite a motor on it. The emptying process is fairly easy as you just empty the dirty water from the back and then empty the debris that is picked up in the trash. Emptying the debris can be a little difficult since it's wet and tends to stick to the container. Twice as worse if it's pet hair. All in all the HydroVac has the potential to be a great product to replace mopping and sweeping/vacuuming but it's not there yet. I think this will be extra useful for a household that maybe doesn't have as much traffic and activity. I wouldn't recommend it necessarily for a busy householdLorielnj

I was looking for a lightweight daily vacuum, Im glad i chose this one! It took me about a minute to assemble, super easy, no tools required. It is very lightweight. It works great on my hardwood floors and carpet. The cord isnt very long so i use an extension cord. It gets under my tv stand and gets up cat hair on my carpet. Im very happy with this vacuum! Easy to empty too! And it doesnt take up much space when storing.luvs22222shop

This little vacuum is AMAZING!! My friend let me use hers once and I had to buy one for myself. It works amazing on my hardwood floors. The little handheld vacuum part works great for the couch and to get the crumbs out of my sons high chair and even to pick up bigger items that you cant suck up with the brush attachment. Its so lightweight and easy to store. The dirt collecting compartment is super easy to remove to empty and Ive even rinsed off the filter and washed out the dirt collecting compartment to have it looking brand new again. The suction is way more powerful than I expected for such a small vacuum. Definitely would recommend buying this vacuum. Its been my little lifesaver since being in this wheelchair. Makes cleaning faster and easier for me. My son even loves it and he is usually scared of vacuums.love

I’ve been looking for a vacuum and was looking at purchasing a much more expensive one. I’m a single female in a one bedroom apartment. I’ve been looking for a multi-purpose vacuum because sweeping just doesn’t pick up all the dirt and dust lingering around. Plus, the only room with carpet is the bedroom. I bought this yesterday and immediately used it today. Super easy to assemble and lightweight. I went ahead and vacuumed the entire apartment (both carpet and hard floors) and OMG! Did it pick up a lot of dirt and dust!? Including hair that I was not aware was around. Yuck! Anyway, my floors now feel super clean. I definitely recommend it for somebody who’s looking for a budget friendly vacuum with great suction. I was even able to vacuum my couches by using it as a handheld vacuum. The only downside is that because it catches everything, it can be difficult to clear and unclog the brush roller from hair that gets caught. It was tedious to unclog it. But other than that it works great!CC
