Best Vacuum Cleaners For Laminate Floors (2024 Update)

I purchased this vacuum back in May/June of 2021 and have had the last 6 months to really use this thing and put it to the test and honestly- I'm not impressed. I'm already way past the return window, so I just wanted to leave a review for others so people can know my personal experience. It doesn't have the suction to pull the cleaner/water out of any rugs or carpet I own. So, we are left with wet carpet for hours after using this. It also does not clean the floors properly with the brush. It's really just moving dirty water around while only sucking up a small fraction of what I have put down. There are dirty water streaks every time I use this to mop. When using the vacuum dry, the dust and hair clog up the filter within minutes and I have to empty it multiple times while vacuuming, even though the container itself is not nearly full. I have a long haired cat, and I myself have long hair. Neither of these things have agreed with this vacuum. If you have a cat and plan on vacuuming any cat litter with this- don't. It will become a large clay litter clump in the suction tube of the vacuum that you have to get out yourself. It will also leave nasty gray streaks of litter/water on the floor. Additionally, my fallen hair gets so tangled in the spinning brush that I have to cut it off. Honestly, that might not be avoidable or the fault of the vacuum. My hair also gets caught on the sides of the spinning brush and becomes an unmanageable mess that can't be removed. This was probably my worst "big purchase" of 2021. I got the Crosswave Max as a splurge birthday present, but I do not like it at all. It is not convenient. Have to assemble before each use, fill with water and their solution (cannot use just water for brush head reasons), then after use have to run the brush clean function and disassemble and clean all the other parts and let them dry. So you need a dedicated area for all this, just like a full on carpet cleaner. In all that time it takes to assemble and clean up after, I can bend over and pick up or sweep up any of my toddler’s mess AND warm up and use my steam mop. Going back to the brush cleaning cycle, it does not do much to clean the brush. The brush remains dirty, discoloured, and unless you soak it in detergent for at least 30 minutes with a good rinse after (blue dish soap, or laundry soap, or their solution, etc), it will remain dirty and leaves a lot of streaks and milky film on the floor the next use. I have darker floors, so it looked disgusting after the wetness dried. I would have to use my steam mop after using the crosswave and the pad would be very gross after, but atleast the floors would finally look good. It’s also a slow machine to use. You basically wet the floor area going slowly so it’s evenly wet and then have to go over it several times to try to dry it as much as possible. You have to do this section by section. It would take much too long to do only my kitchen, where I could sweep or vacuum and mop it in half the time. This machine is a great idea in theory, but it is not convenient or efficient and left my floors dirtier than before using it. The company states the brushes need to be replaced after ten hours of use (I did not use it nearly that long and the brush heads were awful after a short time) and they are not cheap to replace. Also have to use their solution, again not cheap. For such an expensive device, it requires a lot of additional costs.Melissa O

I bought a Bissell crosswave cordless max last year for Christmas because this was sold out. Originally I wanted this I did a lot of research and thought the Tineco one was far more advanced considering they had come out at the same time. My Bissell broke and again it hasn't even been a year I did not buy the warranty for it because I thought it would at least last a year. But I decided I'd buy my original choice and I'm far from disappointed. The issues I had with the Bissell I don't with this. Bissell was bad at streaking and would leave a puddle of water behind the brush roller was so soft it wouldn't pick up dried messes larger food bits would be pushed in front of the Bissell instead of being picked up. The Tineco one is streak free has a studier brush roller that makes picks up dried messes easily it is an auto mode machine so it distributes water and detects water never leaves a puddle behind large food objects like dog kibble gets picked up easily. I have a fairly high number of animals and a senior dog who doesn't have 100% bladder control so these machines are used day in day out. I recommend this to anyone its perfect for everyday use light to heavy messes.Alysun Lusty

I chose this thanks to the Vacuum Wars youtube channel. We used to have a Bissell Crosswave but it didn't last long at all. It started to smell pretty quickly and got clogged a lot (dog hair gang!) I assumed it was our habits so we bought a second one and the same thing happened again, even with more vacuuming and better Crosswave cleaning habits. This time I decided the extra money would be worth it and so far it definitely has been! The only con so far: the clean water tank really should be larger. We have a medium house, nothing large or fancy, and we can't even get through a full room (kitchen especially) without refilling the tank.Cam

Overall: I really love it! Easy to use, quick and sufficient; Great for daily use & for family with pet. I do list detailed limitations below but it solves my biggest problem (a quick daily cleanning) so I am still happy. Pros: – Battery is sufficient for 800-900 sq.ft – Capture pet (cat) hair, dust, and small trash on floor; great for daily clean; – Its design makes it easy to move; – Less noisy compared to Roomba/regular vacuum (but still not quite; just relatively quieter) ; Limitations: – The clean water tank is kind of small; requires refill if you use max clean mode or have a slower cleanning process; For dirty water tank, it's enough for cleanning process but usually require to dump all dirty water before its self-clean (so it does not over the dirty water limit) – It has clean gap (about 3cm/1.2 in) on the edge that its brush cannot reach so cannot work for near kitchen cabinet cleanning; also its wide brush design makes it hard to go into corners near toilet; – Its brush is designed not to hurt flooring which means it also cannot do deep cleanning (e.g. clean out stains on tile grout) – Cleaning dirty water tank can be nasty if you have pet and long hair;Ali

I’ve never in my life owned a Dyson but I finally decided to splurge and I’m glad I did! Here are my first impressions after getting up at the crack of dawn excited to test it out haha! It’s much quieter than I thought which is appreciated for those early morning cleanups after my toddler makes a mess but my older daughter is still sleeping. That laser is amazing but terrible at the same time…holy lord the stuff it was bringing to my attention was wild. I love the attachments and the one that lets you make it a 90 angle to go right under couches and furniture…chefs kiss. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. I do find I’m switching arms a lot so for someone who may be older or limited mobility it may be a bit cumbersome. I don’t hate that you have to press the button constantly to keep it on as it’s easier when you need to stop and go, but I do find it a bit awkward and my hand is a touch sore. I had it fully charged and used it for just over an hour and it’s now dead; I accomplished two floors, two sets of stairs and a couch set in that time. I only have hard floors besides two area rugs which are ruggables, and with the laser brush it has to be on eco otherwise it pulls them up. The other head it comes with does not work at all over ruggables. I don’t have any other ‘carpet’ so I cannot speak to its abilities with that. There are so many attachments this model comes with but there’s no where to store them – I would like to see some extra attachments for the floor dok to store them all. All in all though, highly satisfied with my purchase. I feel as though this is a prime example of “pay for what you get”. It’s a hefty price tag but I suspect this will last me years!Lindz02

This vacuum has the best suction and with 2 golden retrievers I need it but here are the cons It’s heavy and you have to hold in the switch to keep it running guessing this is to preserve the battery. All of the weight of the vacuum as at your wrist and hand and while 4.5 lbs doesn’t seem like much as you are holding it and the on button it is very stressful to your arm wrist and hand. When moving from hardwood to shag (I have all hardwood and two 8×10 shag type area rugs) the beater bar stops and the machine quits working even when you stop and move it to the highest setting so it won’t vacuum my area rugsI can’t even hardly push it through the carpet. I can let it and set it down and pull it. . It will do low pile rugs. Then it won’t stand up on its own you have to lean it on something or never stop vacuuming. I can get through most of my house 1400 square foot with the light before it dies or moves to eco. The head does not easily release to use just the end to get into tight spaces or replace with another attachment. The cord for the battery is actually quite short if you’re hoping to plug it in a closet or hide away place. Sleek as it may seem I don’t want a vacuum hanging up as decor so I’m going to have to add a plug somewhere out of sight. The pros are the light and suction provided you can really get every hair and see all dust if your room is not to bright the light really shows everything I turn down the lights to vacuum crazy I will definitely not buy another and totally regret this purchase for the price it really should come with two batteries and be able to vacuum carpet. We purchased the Shark corded stick model at Target a few years ago. At first it was great, and I recommend it for smaller houses or apartments since it's lightweight and small. It's powerful for its size. But it's not super durable. From what I've read, Shark doesn't make many replacement parts and there aren't many opportunities to repair their products. After about 2 years, several important parts were broken, including the hinge holding the dust cup together. We've been using packing tape to hold together the dust cup, and we have to cut off the tape to empty it and then re-tape it shut every time. Also the main little interior hose at the bottom that connects the head to the stick cracked wide open. The brush gets wrapped with long hair easily. The suction is pretty bad now, probably because of all these issues. Overall pros: It's great on wood floors, good on rugs, and works well while it lasts. Lightweight and easy to maneuver and carry up stairs. I like the attachments and they're easy to use. Long cord. Bagless is more environmentally friendly, although it's best to empty it into a plastic bag anyways. It's a good deal when it's on sale for $100. Overall cons: Doesn't stand up on its own. Cheaply made. The dust bin is really small. It's a hassle to empty the dust bin because you have to unplug the whole vacuum and carry the entire cord out to the trash can with you to empty the cup. Also, bagless vacuums just seem dirtier to me since the dust and hair isn't actually contained. It's always gross emptying it and trying to avoid the cloud of crap flying up at you. It is amazing honestly. We vacuumed our carpets with our old Shark right before we went to Target to look for a new one. We came home and vacuumed again over all of it. The canister filled up TWICE. I was mortified lol. This vacuum has powerful suction and harder tips on the roller that RAKE the carpet and get the film of dog hair out of my thick plush carpeting. I’m not lying. If I was unimpressed, I would tell you so! You DO have to empty the canister more than you would any other vacuum because it is small. If you are continuously vacuuming every room in your house and not emptying, you are going to put extra stress on the motor. It IS a stick vacuum. If you need heavy duty, 5-6 rooms at a time vacuuming, this isn’t your vacuum. I had to empty after EACH room because my vacuum obviously wasn’t doing its job. But I expect next time I won’t (I hope) because I will be pulling out the vacuum daily and keeping the dirt to a minimal in general. I really wanted cordless but my man insisted he didn’t want to deal with battery issues. I’ve never had a cordless and I just wanted one so bad. Cords irritate me and get in my way lol. But this purchase was good. So far I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back and redo my review if I feel like my opinion has changed in a couple months. I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. Good suction, still finds dust and dirt and pet hair 2. Lightweight and really low profile so you can vacuum under things easily 3. Price is amazing for the quality 4. No bags and all the filters I can clean out on my own and reuse. Huge cost and environmental savings. 5. Easy and fast detach / attach for getting corners and using the tools that come with it. 6. Dust bin opens easily and smart so I can hold it over the trash and won’t get dust everywhere. Less messy to empty than others. CONS 1. Corded 2. Hose broke down in head where it bends and flexes as you vacuum, I noticed it at year 3.5, so I had to replace that segment of hose (had holes/cracks in it). I purchased a hose at Home Depot and found some instructions online. Overall it was moderately hard to replace. 3. Suction does not adjust when you vacuum over rugs like the expensive name brand competitor so I have to stand on one end to hold the rug down due to the suction wanting to pickup the rug. 4. Doesn’t sit upright, must lean against a wall when it’s not hanging on the wall given it is too heavy. If you pause during vacuuming to pick something up etc. the thing may fall down while leaning against the wall. Takes a bit of experience to get the perfect, no-fall lean figured out.jessica.b

I just purchased this product and have used it one time. Set up was a breeze and it charged quickly. The vacuum works very well. I have Pergo floors in light oak, so they don't show dust, but do show dirt and debris. The vacuum had no problem with any of it, including onion skin. The mop part works well as a cleaner. I have some dried on liquids it would not remove, but neither would my Swiffer, which this replaces. But the problem is, the cleaning fluid, once dry, leaves a filmy residue that dulls the Pergo. Under the right lighting, you can see where the liquid was and where it wasn't. I tried buffing it to no avail. It remains to be seen if walking on the floor with buff it out. So as a vacuum and mop, it works. But that residue from the cleaning fluid is barely acceptable. Your results may be different. But I'll be keeping it because if does the job and I will use it more often just for the vacuum. I may forego the mop.lochnez49

I got this in hopes of making it easier to clean my floors with something that is an all in one. But I will be returning it. It is nothing more than a glorified swiffer. The pads are disposable. You even need a pad to do the vacuuming and you can only vacuum in one direction because that's where the suction is. So it takes twice as long. Then the pad is extremely dirty afterwards and you're supposedly supposed to use the same one. Why would I use the dirty pad to then mop with? I wouldn't. So I had to use a new one. Once that pad is wet it begins to flop around and you have to apply pressure to get it to stay in place while mopping. Applying more pressure and holding the vacmop a certain way will in turn cause back pain. The compartment for the liquid also does not come off. So you need something to use in order to pour the water into it. Just bad overall execution on this. I would not recommend and I will be returning. I bought the mop system from my shop club which has reusable pads. Yes I will have to sweep or use my regular vacuum beforehand, but it will still take less time than fighting with the vacmop.Mindy Burnette

Moved from Sweden to US a few months ago and was annoyed with the traditional vacuum cleaner we had here, having having to maneuver a heavy and loud motor and not being able to reach underneath furniture. Was driving me crazy and it felt like it was blowing out more dust than it picked up. The Tritan vacuum is very efficient and I was actually surprised by the high quality and power of the motor considering this is not a very expensive machine. It really does the job and with the included attachments it works for any cleaning need. The only downside to it is that I would have liked the electric cord to be a bit longer for better range, but it works well anyway. Many years ago there was a Swedish brand of Vacuum cleaners called "Elektrolux" and they had a slogan "Nothing sucks like an Elektrolux". I would change that now to "Nothing sucks like a Prolux". 🙂Anthony76

I really wanted to love this vacuum, but will have to return it, in spite of the suction being awesome. The suction is as good or better than my Shark vacuums. I needed a good HEPA canister vacuum that would work well on my hard surface floors, window shades/blinds and walls/ceilings. I was disappointed to find that even though there is a HEPA filter, the bags are not HEPA bags. I haven't determined, yet,if the vacuum is sealed well enough, to avoid dispersing dust back into the room. Additionally, the bristles on the hard floor brush are so stiff and scratchy, I am reluctant to use it on my hardwood floors. Unfortunately, none of my better attachments, from my previous vacuums, fit the Tritan. I need to be able to vacuum my walls and ceilings, but the floor brush is not suitable for that either. I would like to be able to comfortably (and safely) vacuum the tops of door frames and window shades and blinds, without using the extension tube. But , the stiff hose does not stretch and is too short to directly attach the dust brush and reach overhead, to the top of my door frames. Back to the drawing board for me, as the Tritan Canister is just not suitable for my needs.C.B.

I am 69 years old, so believe me when I tell you I have had many vacuum cleaners in my life, from a Kirby to a Miele to the less expensive uprights that just don't last. When I moved and left behind my latest upright as a gift to the buyer of my house, I had to find a new vacuum. One that would last. One that could suck up dog hair from my Australian Shepherd. One that was maneuverable and could also clean my truck's interior. When I saw the ad for the Prolux Triton I was taken by how absolutely cute it is. I love its retro looks, like a 50's space ship with chrome and a sleek shape. I love the design of the retractable cord, its maneuverability and the very very powerful motor. I now have a restored vintage house (circa 1900) which requires a strong machine to eliminate dust. I am very pleased with my Prolux Triton!!Vicki

I bought this vacuum cleaner three years ago. It has very good sucking power; however, it is very heavy to lift to get it off the hard wood floors onto the rugs. It doesn't just glide on to the rugs–you have to physically lift it. Last month when I was lifting it, the handle cracked in half. I keep putting electrical tape around it and duct tape to hold it together but it doesn't hold. I am afraid I am going to electrocute myself.Theresa

This is a durable, great vacuum for cleaning hard floors and carpeted surfaces. Excellent suction, lightweight and a huge bag capacity. Definitely feels more premium and durable than the big-box stuff. Picks up pet hair easily. I use the HEPA bags in mine for added filtration. These vacuums are made to last and easy to be repaired if needed. I'd buy another one for sure.Michael

It was like a bulldozer was in the room! I had several of these machines over the years. They were great. This one was so loud the neighbors could hear it. This is our 4th Electrolux hard surface vacuum, two 12 volt and an 18 volt. We absolutely love this vacuum and were very upset when we couldn't find it anywhere on line. A couple of years ago we bought a Dyson 10 because we couldn't find an 18 volt Electrolux. It is not in any way comparable or even as convenient as the Electrolux. We love the swivel head, the easy recharging stand and removable hand vac, so much easier and simpler than the Dyson. When we tried to buy an Electrolux, we were told it was no longer sold in the USA, but then we found it through Amazon. It cost double the amount of our last 18 volt Electrolux, but we were thrilled to get this vacuum. Please let us know if you come back to the USA, we will definitely buy another one!!!JoeMar

I jumped at buying another ergorapido, the minute I saw they were making them again, and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s well balanced and easy to maneuver. Most of all, it’s suction was far more than I expected, and far superior to the previous models I’ve had. And you can do mats by turning it down to low speed, without worrying about sucking up the end of the mat. Emptying the dust bin was a lot simpler than previous models, too. Oh, and Hair! Hair that winds around the roller cleans off easily with the tap of your foot on the snipper tool. The only thing lacking are the instructions— simply illustrations. A little more detail would be helpful. I would definitely buy this again.Brian406

This is our third Ergorapido. We purchased our first one over ten years ago because I kept tripping on the cord to my corded vacuum. We were so impressed with it that we put away our other vacuums and never use them. It has strong suction, long lasting battery, lighted so you can see under furniture, easy to maneuver, takes up very title space when recharging, has a small hand held version attached to it and it is cordless. We purchased our second one for upstairs. And now we purchased the third one to replace the first one when it dies because we use this handy vacuum daily and don’t want to be without our Ergorapido.Jhgmac

I’ve spent several hours of research, this is the Best Bang for the Buck. Do yourself a favor, buy it!!! Read the reviews later. I had not “vaccumed” my stairs in over 3 months as my DYSON DC33 died after several years. I did many hours of research and the Shark brands would be up there with Dyson in most comparisons. I was considering the Dyson Animal but it wouldn’t be less than $500, now Dyson is actual on sale for $350. Prior to writing this review after thorough research and also comparing the Shark Apex Duo Clean, I ended up with this one for $229, I was about to buy it for $279 and it won’t on sale next week. Anyhow just see how much dirt it picked up from the stair case. I only did about 7 of them and my dust-bin is super filthy. Although it might not me a fair comparison with the Dyson DC33 (that died) I’m certain it never sucked like this. This is the most powerful vaccum I have ever experienced. Now let’s talk about build quality, the accessories definitely feel inferior in contrast to a Dyson, so I don’t know about the longevity of this. I also did notice lot of reviewers complained about the pole or the main handle that goes behind the vaccum, that also is hollow and feels like it won’t last too long, but it works great I couldn’t be happier. In all honesty you do not need to spend $400-500. Some reviews say the Apex Duo Clean with 2 roller brushes doesn’t pick up as well as this. I’ve only tried the stairs, I will edit my review if needed. I will have to try on tiles/ hard floor.DmnTrd40

I have been a shark customer for a very long time. I have the power lift-away from years ago and the things runs like a champ. However, I saw this one and thought WOW no more cutting the dog hair from the wheel and an XL cup will save me so..much..time! I would say overall it's definitely a good vacuum BUT I miss features from my other one that make me sad when I pull this one out of the closet. I do still have the other so I can use both. Pros: Lightweight- for a large vacuum, this is very easy to lift XL Cup- definitely helps when you have 2 very large furry dogs Long Hose-ish- long but doesn't reach like it states Super Sucker- I did think the suction was very good on getting up massive amounts of dog hair (Border Collie/Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees/Aussie mix) Cons: No Lift-Away- Doesn't seem like that big of a deal until you are going up and down the stairs or reaching into vaulted ceilings, the canister doesn't fall over No Light- again not a HUGE deal but seeing dust bunnies run from you was easier with a light Hose- The hose states it'll reach 12' making stairs easy but let me tell you, it does not even come close. Like mentioned above, once you get hose fully extended you need something to weigh it down so it doesn't fall over from over extension Accessories- My liftaway had a ton of accessories for options i.e. stair brushroll, and a few others but let's stick with that one. For a machine that claims it's turbo power for pets to not provide a stair brushroll seems silly, I have tried to rig my old one to fit my new machine and it works just ok, I end up using my old vacuum to do the stairs ugh. Self Cleaning Brushroll- seems ok for now but still have hair wrapped around it that i'm sure I'll have to cut off. Overall: I like the vacuum, esthetically it's really good looking (because you know that's important) It seems to do a good job as needed, I wish it was a clone of my liftaway with "newer" features but it's not.WCoates

Got this to replace a 15+ year old upright, and I am shocked at how much technology has improved! This is a fraction of the weight, quieter, stronger, more maneuverable, and easier to clean out. The old one had the yellow plastic filter tucked up inside the machine where it was a serious pain to blindly get back in place. I love the ability to vary suction power both on the vacuum and the attachment. (I love the two-in-one attachment.) I gave our place a much-needed vacuuming and was horrified/quite pleased with the amount of awfulness this bad boy cleaned up. After the first time I used this, there was a lot of hair wrapped around the brush. I was initially concerned, but then I decided to trust the instructions (and test the product) and waited until after using it some more to see if it cleaned itself. And it did! I was happy to see the claim fulfilled in at least that one instance.Sherwood

Just bought myself an early Christmas present, the crosswave pro pet multi surface vac/mop. Really amazing how it cleans up, you see/feel/smell the difference instantly. I have health issues so sweeping/mopping is a challenge for me and i needed an easy option that worked. I have multiple cats and this is amazing with cat fur/dried up hairballs/cat litter etc, the fact that it separates all the icky stuff from the clean water makes the biggest difference…you will be in shock how much gets ckeaned up. Now this beautiful household tool needs care in between using it but i like the finished product so much i don't mind the clean up after and still easier then sweeping and mopping with way better results, plus i just put it up on my counter for easy access for the clean up. Tips: 1) don't use with a wet filter, always put a dry filter in. 2) get a baby tooth brush to get in small crevasse. 3) sweep out corners or hard to reach spots into where it can be vacuumed because this machine cant get to them. 4) i didn't get cordless because i don't want to deal with future batterie issues (not saying it happens but more likely then a cord) put top of cord on hook as you vacuum, easier to control cord dosen't get in your way. 5) clean spray holes if needed with paper clip. 6) make sure if you are dumping dirty water or cleaning off in the sink you have a drajn catcher because pet fur and gunk gets everywhere, you'll see as you are clean everything off and dumping water out, don'twant that going down your drain. 7) go slow when spraying the water, give wet vac mop a chance to do its thing. 8) make sure everything is dry b4 you put back together so no mold or smells start to happen. Like i mentioned, if you take care of this it will continue to take care of your floors and rugs. Ps: Not paid to write this, just a regular human. I paid for my crosswave and i really love it. No love is as great as the first, as they say. I bought this last year but after taking it to a friends house and power washing and vacuuming their entire 2 bedroom apartment for 5 hours straight for 2 days in a row, i think i mightve found the breaking point of this product… Haha, so after it wouldnt turn on, i returned it. I ended up going through 3 other new vacuums and returned them all, only to repurchase this as the 5th one. As i mentioned in the previous review for the Bissell Proheat Duo Pet vacuum, this one here was the absolute perfect size for a 5'3 girl living in a small apt. Its great in smler spaces and even if the suction is not as powerful as the Proheat Duo vacuum, this one does a good enough job for the size and its ease of use cant be beat. Cleaning it is suuuuuuper easy, refilling the water is super easy, and all i gotta do is just press a maximum of 2 buttons. (Meanwhile the pro heat duo has me feeling like an airplane technician, after having to take out a bunch components to clean it which was NOT easy and having so many buttons!!!) Im a bit OCD with vacuuming my carpet all the time (every day) and im always very pleased with the carpet cleaning after i wash it. Overall its been the best model i have found for a Wet/Dry vacuum so i highly recommend if its for a 1 bedroom apt. My only gripes are that this is not easy to push!!! Also wish it could suction better when going BACKWARDS because it only suctions good moving forward but not if i pass over it backwards and if the suction would be stronger too. I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

I purchased this vacuum back in May/June of 2021 and have had the last 6 months to really use this thing and put it to the test and honestly- I'm not impressed. I'm already way past the return window, so I just wanted to leave a review for others so people can know my personal experience. It doesn't have the suction to pull the cleaner/water out of any rugs or carpet I own. So, we are left with wet carpet for hours after using this. It also does not clean the floors properly with the brush. It's really just moving dirty water around while only sucking up a small fraction of what I have put down. There are dirty water streaks every time I use this to mop. When using the vacuum dry, the dust and hair clog up the filter within minutes and I have to empty it multiple times while vacuuming, even though the container itself is not nearly full. I have a long haired cat, and I myself have long hair. Neither of these things have agreed with this vacuum. If you have a cat and plan on vacuuming any cat litter with this- don't. It will become a large clay litter clump in the suction tube of the vacuum that you have to get out yourself. It will also leave nasty gray streaks of litter/water on the floor. Additionally, my fallen hair gets so tangled in the spinning brush that I have to cut it off. Honestly, that might not be avoidable or the fault of the vacuum. My hair also gets caught on the sides of the spinning brush and becomes an unmanageable mess that can't be removed. This was probably my worst "big purchase" of 2021. I got the Crosswave Max as a splurge birthday present. It has since been returned for the following reasons. It is NOT convenient. Have to assemble before each use, fill with water and their solution (cannot use just water for brush head reasons), then after use have to run the brush clean function and disassemble and clean all the other parts and let them dry. So you need a dedicated area for all this, just like a full on carpet cleaner. In all that time it takes to assemble and clean up after, I can bend over and pick up or sweep up any of my toddler's mess AND warm up and use my steam mop. Going back to the brush cleaning cycle, it does not do much to clean the brush. The brush remains dirty, discoloured, and unless you soak it in detergent for at least 30 minutes with a good rinse after (blue dish soap, or laundry soap, or their solution, etc), it will remain dirty and leaves a lot of streaks and milky film on the floor the next use. I have darker floors, so it looked disgusting after the wetness dried. I would have to use my steam mop after using the crosswave and the pad would be very gross after, but atleast the floors would finally look good. It's also a slow machine to use. You basically wet the floor area going slowly so it's evenly wet and then have to go over it several times to try to dry it as much as possible. You have to do this section by section. It would take much too long to do only my kitchen, where I could sweep or vacuum and mop it in half the time. This machine is a great idea in theory, but it is not convenient or efficient and left my floors dirtier than before using it. The company states the brushes need to be replaced after ten hours of use (I did not use it nearly that long and the brush heads were awful after a short time) and they are not cheap to replace. Also have to use their solution, again not cheap. For such an expensive device, it requires a lot of additional costs and left my floors disgusting after. 0/5 stars.Melissa

I have an older, corded Dyson which is still a workhorse. But since it is quite heavy and I am older, I can no longer easily carry it up and down stairs. So this corded one now stays upstairs which is carpeted, and the V12 Detect Slim is perfect for downstairs which is all tile/hardwood. I have 2 very fluffy cats which shed a lot – constantly – and will sometimes scatter litter when covering their waste. I tried another stick vacuum which was great for about a year, but then started dropping the litter back down and out onto the floor again so this was frustrating and useless. Back to Dyson and so far so very good. The one small feature that helped me finally make the choice of the V12 Detect Slim is the "on/off" button over the trigger in the other models. I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and the trigger would probably not be comfortable for me. I also love the laser attachment to find all the litter scatter pieces that are not easily seen but certainly are felt by bare feet. I've only had this vacuum for a short while and have not tried all of the attachments yet but am hopeful that my furniture will be cleaner of cat hair just as my floors seem to be. Yes, the dust bin is small, but it's so easy to detach and empty I don't find that to be an issue for me. As long as the V12 Detect slim keeps holding the litter in this bin, I will keep singing its praises. I also bought the standing Dok and love this. Would just like a holder of some sort to attach to the stand for holding more of the attachments. So, considering how well my older, corded vacuum has performed and continues to perform, I'm hopeful for similar performance from the V12 Detect Slim.SueD12

I was very excited to get the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, especially since I have had such great experiences with other Dyson products. Packaging and assembly with a breeze pretty self explanatory. I was impressed from the start with how lite it was, which made is very convenient for the stairs in our house. It was easy enough for the kids to carry around and use too, which is always a plus! I found it fairly easy to use for over head tasks too. I liked that it only has a single button power control. The LCD screen is probably my favorite feature. It shows you what has been lifted on the different surfaces, it is clear and easy to understand. In fact at one point it wasn’t functioning properly and the LCD screen told me what the problem was right away and I was able to fix it right away. I love that I didn’t have to trouble shoot it and take the whole thing apart to figure out the problem. It came with some neat attachments, the fluffy yellow and purple roller that is perfect for our wooden and tile floors, it had no problem fitting under our dining table and coffee table, this saved me time from having to move the furniture around. It comes with a wall dock that provides a way to easily store all the components while charging it as well. It included a neat hair screw tool, the allows you to pick up pet hair making pet spaces easy and fast to keep clean. They have a new design on the motorbar which helps to detangle long hair, eliminating the need for me to take it apart to cut out tangled hair like I have had to with other vacuums. You can select from the three cleaning modes depending on what job you are tackling. The waste bin is super easy to empty, simply point it in the trash can and push the lever to release the dirt. It is quick and straight to the point and I didn’t have to tough anything so my hands never got dirty. I love that it gives you 60 minutes of charge unlike previous machines that gave my around 20 minutes, also I found that the battery did a great job of holding the charge even when it was not in use or plugged in. The only “con” I would say I found was that if you doing a bigger job like cleaning more that a few rooms at a time, you have to stop and empty out the bin more often perhaps because it is a smaller unit but if you don’t mind that it really isn’t an issue. I have 3 (now 4) Dyson vacuums, I have the Airwrap and it is so awesome I wanted to try their other products. I purchased my first used D6 from eBay, I wanted to try one to see if it worked as well as it was claimed. I liked it but wanted a newer so I gave that one to my son and saved up and went with the V10 model (which I still have and still love), I then purchased the canister (refurbished) for deep cleaning items like furniture because the V10 would only go about 30 minutes and that was frustrating to me. I wanted something with a swappable battery but did not want to spend another $600 so when the small one (Omni Glide) came out I got it from Best Buy and found some extra attachments on ebay for it (mini motorized tool) and that one was excellent for day to day and my car, the battery lasts forever and is swappable, but I never needed a second for that one. My daughter borrowed it (she cleans houses) and she loved it so I let her keep it and found this one, which is in the middle of the 2 I have. I think the laser might send my OCD into overdrive because it showed everything on the floor when it looks clean without it. It is crazy how much dust it shows. I am glad I can turn it off if I choose, but I have not done that. IMO this is the best of the 5 I have tried. The battery seems to last, but it is swappable so when they are available I will be buying an extra. But so far I am using eco mode mostly and the battery lasts longer than I expected. The suction even on eco is better than my D10, my D10 does not suck up the throw rugs, but this one does. I wish I could adjust the suction to lower for this reason but all around this is a great cordless. I like the power switch because it makes it easier when using some of the attachments, not having to hold the trigger, but I am torn as I also like the trigger switch and miss it a little.M00nbeam

Having never used a wet vac like this before, all I can say is WOW! I admit, I was a skeptic. We regularly clean our hard floors so I really didn't expect to see any great results. That all went away after the first use. Great product. It makes scrubbing the floors a piece of cake. Starting with the overall looks. It's a really sleek machine. It's not bulky at all and allows you to get into the same places you would be able to with a normal stick vac. The white color is refreshing and adds to it's nice clean look. The charging base is as small as it can be, but even so, some might find it's footprint a bit large. But when you consider the self cleaning feature it offers, it's easy to overlook the size. The handle is very comfortable and the buttons are placed in good locations. All the indications and icons are displayed on the top of the clean water tank in easy view. They light as needed and let you know what you need to know about the state of your machine. To use the machine, you fill the clean water tank and add a cap of the included floor cleaner. When you turn the machine on, it automatically dispenses the water solution and starts the roller spinning. At the same time, it also starts the vacuum, so you basically vacuum up the water before it even soaks your floors. After using it on our laminate wood flooring in the kitchen, I just noticed a sheen after it vacuumed the water up. It was dry in about 30 seconds. If you've ever used a stick mop with a trigger spray feature, they left about the same amount of moisture. The difference was, the water that was collected in the dirty water tank was, well pretty dirty. There are two settings, a standard speed and a max speed. I tried them both but had very good luck with the standard speed so that's generally what I use. Overall, it's pretty quiet. No loud whiny beater bar, just the soft roller on the floor. The battery lasts long enough to clean our entire kitchen, hallway and front entrance area without any issues, and have power to spare. This package comes with an additional roller and HEPA filter. At first I thought they were just “extra” but the idea is, you have one set that's dry, and the set that you use to clean, so you just keep swapping them out. The roller assembly is extremely easy to remove and replace. Like both of the water tanks, it has a snap in place, spring loaded latch. The roller pretty much just pulls right out. The filter is just as easy to replace. Emptying the dirty water tank was as easy as pouring it in the sink and rinsing out any dirt left behind. To use the self clean feature, just fill the clean water tank with fresh water, make sure the dirty water tank is in place and run the cycle with the touch of a button. A few years ago, we got a cordless stick vacuum for our house. We love using it in-between our robot vacuum sweeps but we still end up having to mop the kitchen floor which is linoleum. Since we’re always looking for ways to make tasks more efficient, this wet/dry vacuum seemed like a good option for our family. When you pull the vacuum out of its box, make sure to look through all the packaging because there are additional parts included and I almost threw out the extra dry filter because it was tucked away inside some cardboard. Even though assembly is required, it’s very minimal. You have to attach the handle to the main body of the vacuum, plug the base into power, and then set the unit on the stand. Once the battery is charged, you can start using it. According to the manual, these are the steps you have to take for operation. Prepare for use – includes charging the vacuum for about four hours Press the power button to start the vacuum. It’s in ECO mode by default. I like the features of this vacuum and its ease of use, but I do wish there were a couple of things added on (a dry/wet option, a heavy stain cleaning option, etc.). Versatile vacuum makes our 90% laminate floor cleaner that it’s ever been. We used to use those “easy” mops that have replaceable wet pads to mop our floors and they worked better than a mop and bucket but this vacuum makes it a piece of cake! The setup and operations were so simple that I thought I was missing something in the suggestions (instructions) but I wasn’t. I normally am the type of person that can pull new electronics out of the box and start using it without help but I had never used a mop/vacuum combo like this before so I read the suggestions. It is so simple, push the power button. If there is liquid in the clean water tank it will mop and vacuum. If that tank is empty it will vacuum only. When you are done just set it on the base and it charges automatically! The vacuum even cleans the brush by itself! The Shark Rotator Lift-Away DuoClean Pro really impresses and will surely take care of all your cleaning needs. Out of the box, the Shark comes nicely packaged with easy to understand quick assembly guide. Fully assembled, the vacuum is heavier than my current Shark by about 5-6lbs, but my current model (the Rotator Powered Lift-Away Speed) is meant to be lighter. While it is heavier, it still maneuvers like a nimble sports car in and around furniture. The swivel joint that connects the handle to the floor unit makes vacuuming an ease and kind of fun. Put on some music and clean to the tunes! The lift away function allows you to cut some of the weight should you need to clean furniture, stairs, or other tight areas. The suction on this vacuum is amazing. Just like with my previous model, you really have no clue how dirty your carpet is until you over it with the Shark. What appears in the canister is SHOCKING. While the size of the canister is pretty standard, at less than 1/2 gallon, it can fill up without reducing suction. When full, emptying the canister is simple. There's no twisting or turning, just pushing a simple release latch button to disconnect the canister from the vacuum and then pushing another button at the bottom of the canister where all of the dirt and debris cleanly falls into the trash bin. This vacuum works so well that you'll likely need to empty it multiple times, but that's a good thing because you know you're getting things cleaner! The LED lights are another excellent feature of this Shark. They provide bright lights at almost floor level. Because of their low angle, you'll be able to see things on the floor that you weren't able to see with overhead lights alone. The DuoClean brush (standard vacuum brush + the hard floor brush) really improves this model over my previous vacuum. I have both carpets, rugs, and hard wood floors. While my previous vacuum did an excellent job at carpets, it wasn't so great at hard wood floors. It's powerful suction would suck in any debris, but hardwood floors can be dusty. Even using the carpet brush didn't completely clean the floors. With this this models hard floor brush, it actually buffs and dusts the hard wood floors while also sucking in any loose debris! This makes me so happy because no one really enjoys having to sweep or mop in addition to vacuuming. Lastly, the Power Pet Brush is great–especially for those with pets. Despite my best efforts, my cat will inevitably crawl on uncovered parts of the couch. After not much time at all, his hair becomes entangled and weaved into the fabric of the couch. I'm still baffled how this happens, but it does. Brushing and sucking alone is not sufficient to remove these hairs. However, the Power Pet Brush's suction and vigorous active brush roll get my furry friends leftovers off the couch so that it looks brand new. If you have pets, you know what I'm talking about and this tool will be your new best friend! In conclusion, I love this vacuum. It makes cleaning easy, effective, and efficient! It will be an excellent addition to your household. Vaccuum itself picks up debris great. I received a broken model where the wand doesn't release/click back in appropriately. I contacted Shark, as there is supposed to be a 5 year warranty – but this doesn't cover the wand defect. Because I didn't use the wand feature or realize this in the first 2 months of use , it was too late to return and Shark customer service wouldn't replace the wand part. Frustrating for such a high dollar purchase. But if you get a fully functioning unit – it is probably great!kal22

This thing is amazing. I bought to replace my 7 year old shark vacuum. While my old shark worked great, I figured it was time to upgrade to something targeted toward homes with pets. It amount of dirt it pulls from the carpet is incredible just like any shark vacuum. The bonus is the way it deals with pet hair. I haven't had a problem with cat (or human) hair getting stuck in the primary roller. The plush roller on the front is great for hardwood floors and I was shocked just how gross it can get even when the house is cleaned multiple times a week. It's like a magnet for dirt! I got this on sale during black friday and was easily the best impulse purchase I made last year. You won't be disappointed if you get this! Thin, delicate plastic that makes you realize quick why its' so lightweight. (Not a good thing). Worked well for a couple weeks but now it requires going super slow or doing x2 vacuuming to get the same results. (A vacuumed floor). All in all, a regrettable purchase. I'd suggest not buying the Dirt Devil brand period. I've learnt my lesson.Joshua

Spouse bought it. I usually check out reviews before purchasing. It worked well, we had been using Roomba. It picked up a LOT of dog hair from carpet. I found the cord long enough for our rooms..any longer and I would trip over. Personally I found it very loud and will use sponge earplugs. Looking at instruction booklet, not looking forward to having to clean the Cyclonic Assembly and the Exhaust Filter…but havent bought new vacuum for a while maybe they all have this now? … just cleaning the floors and emptying bin was my focus. Now have to keep an eye on 2 filters and clean them? I like to see what it has picked up in the clear container bin tho.Little Pud

I bought this online which was probably my first mistake because I couldn’t see in person how crappy it is. It does suction fairly well and it’s very light, but the good stuff stops there. The cord is so short that I can’t even vacuum an entire room without having to unplug it twice (and I don’t have huge rooms). The hose is horrible. It’s awkward and short, so you’re tugging on it the entire time you’re using it. I have hardwood floors, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs, so we use the hose on a vacuum daily. The brush is not angled so unless you hold it directly over something, it won’t pick it up. Why is the brush attached to the crevice tool? This is stupid. I can’t seem to separate them. Why is there an opening in the handle that looks like the hose should fit into it? The manual doesn’t explain this. Oh and the handle came off while I was vacuuming. I already got rid of the box but I wish I could return it because I absolutely HATE it. The 2 stars are only for the lightness and suction power. Huge disappointment.Season

I've tested a decent amount of vacuums over the last decade. This is the first one I've tested that was made for hard surfaces and I was excited to get it mostly for my wife who always uses whatever other vacuum on our hard floors almost interchangeably as our carpeted areas. While I normally would sweep hard floors and them vacuum up the pile or let our robot vacuum with mop attachment do all the work for me. Setup was a little overwhelming looking at first but not too bad. The whole thing comes in more pieces than I would normally expect to find but the instructions lay out what everything is pretty nicely and after the initial shock it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I put it all together and let it charge over night (it suggests at least 4-5 hours of charge time before the initial use). I'm pretty happy with the steps required to actually use this vacuum. It's mostly a supplement to our robot vacuum/mop. I'm happy with the robot but we usually go around the are and pick up/move everything off of the floor in the entire upstairs before we run it so it's a process. It does a good job but the setup and reconstruction of the area before running it makes us use it far less than I'd like. So having a vacuum that's made for sweeping and mopping that I can easily setup and break down is key. When you want to use this, just fill up the clean water tank with mostly water and a small cap-full of soap. Then you're ready to go. The first time I hit the power button, I was surprised as it kind of drives itself forward. Pretty nice to lighten the load but you're also fighting against that push when your pull the vacuum back again. Overall it was a nice little assist, I think. The vacuum and mop did a pretty nice job of cleaning the floor pretty quickly but it did require an empty and refill of the tanks before I was finished. That doesn't take too long so it was no big deal. After I was done doing the whole upstairs area, the battery still had about 60% left (I was worried because when I first started it up, it looked like the battery was draining very quickly). The nice thing about having a screen with all the information on it is that you can see at a glance how hard the vacuum is working and what battery level is remaining. After you're done the instructions recommend you clean the dirty and clean water tanks as well as the roller and roller protector after each use. This is the only annoying part since you can't really just grab the vacuum to do a quick job and put it back but the cleanup of these things doesn't take too long. The base station does include an auto-clean feature for the roller so you have that going for you and there were 2 additional rollers included with this vacuum so you can always just rotate them if you need to clean one. Apparently there's an app that goes with this vacuum. The instructions just said that you can "perform all functions from the app" but I don't really know what functions those are. I did not download the app and can't imagine what I would possibly need it for. The functions on the vacuum are very minimal and can be adjusted with just a few pushes of the 3 buttons on the vacuum. I just didn't want another app on my phone. The only weird thing I didn't love about this vacuum was how it sat on the charging station. It leans forward quite a bit for some reason. I would expect it to just sit straight up and down but when the head is locked and you place it on the charger the handle leans forward at what feels like a 30 degree angle. Far more than you'd expect. Enough that I thought I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out a better way to place it on the charger though so I'm going to assume it's just how it was designed. I got used to it quickly enough but it was a weird thing when I first saw it. Overall, I like the vacuum. It does a good job supplementing our robot vacuum by being easy to get up and running and being easy to break down and clean when we're done (while not needing to break down the entire upstairs before using it since we can move things while vacuuming). If you're looking for a nice hard surface vacuum/mop and this fits your budget, give it a look. I was impressed with it for the most part.swemoney

I never taught about using a vacmop before i was kind of skeptical and it would take me a while to clean my hardwood floors .. was kind of an event to say. Not anymore… thanks to this Tineco Floor One s5 Extreme i’m actually looking forward to do it now. I will attach some pictures to see what comes in the box and it’s pretty straight forward plug and play kind of situation as well with some before and after situation. Everything is very intuitive to use but you can check the book or type the name of it on youtube and they have an interactive video in how to use it for first time. It comes with 2 extra brushes and an extra filter that will come in handy when you’ll wash and let dry the ones that you’ll be using first(about 24hrs) they recommended doing that after each use and you’ll want to do that and don’t forget to empty the messy water each time so u prevent bad odors. The design and features are very modern … it has a voice and a screen that will assist you in your cleaning process. To be mentioned here is the feature that senses the proportion of a mess when on auto and turns gradually the blue light into a red one, sign that you should insist in that particular area till becomes completely blue and it’s scary accurate!!! The stand acts like a support and charger (which will take somewhere 3-4hrs for it to be fully juiced up). They also recommend using ONLY Tineco cleaning solution or just plain water. Make sure you youse warm-hot water with or without solution since will tackle the dirt better. I’m happy with the product and it really saves me a lot of time and does a great job!!!Denisik91

I totally underestimated this machine. When I turned it on, the brush kicked in and almost dragged me acoss the floor! Not really, but I was surprised by how powerful the brush was for such a compact package. This mop is no joke. I'm a busy and stressed-out professional, so lots of housekeeping chores don't get done on a regular basis. I've been meaning to clean the kitchen floor for quite a while — I had food and coffee spills, tracked mud, etc, on the floor in places, and serious grossness under the oven and fridge. I figured that I'd give this machine a workout. It really worked. It took several passes in some areas, but the machine just kept working at the mess until it was all clean. The dirty tank strains out the solid materials to make it easy to dump without clogging your sink. It also uses less water than I would expect, so I didn't have to dump the tank nearly as often as I thought I would have to. The clean tank and the dirty tank have good capacity. One super thoughtful little detail is that both tanks have flat bottoms, so they can be put upright on the counter, and you don't have to lean them against anything like you do with other wet vacuums. I really like how it is as maneuverable as a light vacuum, it does a great job on hard floors and we can also use it on floor mats that aren't too thick. That brush-forward design really gets right up to edges and corners. It is very user-friendly. The display is large, bright and useful, and the voice prompts are really helpful. Even self-cleaning is super easy. I'm just not sure what benefits you get from the app or its wifi connection.Snarltoof

This isn’t the magic cordless stick vacuum i thought it would be. While it’s nice to have a cordless vacuum, it doesn’t work any better than an actual broom and dust pan. The suction is terrible. I used it to clean up kitty litter and it just throws it around and I have to go over it multiple times before it picks it all up. Honestly it sucks and not in a good way. I’m glad that i didn’t pay full price for it. I would not recommend this product to anyone.ashley

Looks nice and cleans well. It even looks to be built well. Has a nice battery indicator too. Which leads me to this vacuums big downfall. The battery lasts maybe 30 minutes on the efficacy setting. and maybe 15 minutes on the high setting. When the battery is dead, it takes three hours to charge. If the vacuum came with two batteries, that would be great. Even 60 minutes of runtime and cleaning a large house is pushing it. I went looking online for a second battery and it looks like it will set us back $80 We paid $148 for the vacuum, so realistically we are looking at a $230 vacuum. Better off buying two of these vacuums and utilizing the two batteries and you would have a spare filters and parts. I can't recommend this vacuum. I am assuming all these battery operated vacuums are about the same battery life. So I think it would be fair to subtract a star for battery life, subtract another star for charge time and one more star for price or replacement battery. Shame on you Tineco!Hoganator

I bought this vacuum when it was on sale for Black Friday. We have four pets who all shed a lot so I knew we’d be putting this vacuum to the test. It works great on our hardwood floors and tile, and I love the light feature on it. The auto-trigger and light weight of the vacuum are pluses too. I have a few issues with it though. It works terrible on carpet and rugs. It barely runs over a super thin rug let alone a push area rug. I bought it over a crosswave thinking it was worth the investment because if we move into a house with all carpet it would work great. It does not. My other issue is the battery life. I knew when getting a cordless vacuum we wouldn’t get a long battery time especially with 4 pets, but I was still disappointed with the battery life. We only have a 1200 sqft house and we’re lucky to get through a single charge. It takes around 3 hours to charge so it’s not a quick waiting process if the battery does die. I’m sure it’d last a little longer if you don’t have pets or less than we do, but I’d be wary if you have a larger home or have pets/kids. It’s also not very easy to clean the inside and we usually have to pull out debris/hair it collected because it doesn’t all come out on its own. I definitely don’t think it’s worth the original price and I’m still having a hard time justifying spending $150 on a vacuum that doesn’t work on carpet.K

This machine is very well built, I think it was released in 2021 and you can tell it’s the same high quality you would get from a metal vacuum costing $100’s more. This is not very heavy to push around and it even works on hard floors without damaging them. The suction is very strong. At 1st I thought the piece connecting the suction to the dust tank looked poorly made with a air gap, but it was my mistake, this thing is perfectly built to capture all dust without releasing it back into the air. I also thought the rewind cord feature was poorly made at 1st being plastic, but it’s pressure powered and with the right pressure from your foot on the knob it powerfully snatches the cord right in every time. 12ft height ceiling cleaning hose for filter vacuuming and stuff is the future. This is the vacuum you want for around $100 and i think this is the 2021 model.Gamer7

This is the worst vacuum I’ve ever owned and I’ve only had it a week! To use the hose-you disconnect it with a button-and dirt you’ve already cleaned out falls on the floor. To clean the canister-you have to put your hand up into it and continually shake the thing to get the dirt and stuff to fall down so it can be thrown away-all the whole dirt is getting on you and your floor. You have to completely pull all of the cord out when you use it-or it overheats! Sometimes you only need a foot of cord. The cord rewind button is flimsy and cheap and the rewind doesn’t work by itself-I’d rather secure the cord myself than deal with this. If could give negative stars-I would! Very solid machine. I love the brush attachment, it really gets the dog hair out of the sofa well, even better if you approach stubborn areas from angles other than the typical far to near motion. I’ve been frustrated in the past with how cheaply vacuums can be made and I didn’t want another one like that. I had a very nice cleaner years ago I bought at Home Depot. It broke, and then I went to tile and wood flooring, so I just didn’t use a vacuum for a long time. I’m so glad I tried this because I’m not sure but it seems exactly like the one that I had years ago, with a different color. Suction is great. I no longer need to dread spider webs and cleaning furniture and the like the old way….nice to have this decent tool back.Jese
